Gifting varies, and I wanna see who's the 'best' and 'worst' in your ideas

Jeff - okay uh. He’s not great, but he tries. Will probably get you things you need or something really dumb and silly. The typa guy to either gift the most expensive and top tier hunting knife you’ve ever seen or a sock puppet.

BEN - could be worse- he probably gifts games for you to play with him, or makes a silly lil package full of foods, drinks and trinkets he knows you’d like. Is also the type of guy to buy you matching bracelets or a silly pair of socks

Toby - cardboard box full of strange trinkets and thinks like pine cones and little stick men he’s made from branches and leaves out in the forest. Either that, or a baby raccoon he adopted (kidnapped) while outside. It doesn’t seem like much, but he’s genuinely put a lot of thought into it and will be over the moon if you like it 😭

EJ - possibly the best on this list. Will go all out, observing and asking about things you like and then looking everywhere to try and find the highest quality and best version of said product: once he’s found it, he’ll wrap it up as neatly as you could ever imagine with a little bow and a romantic (or sweet, if you want platonic) note attached. Wont even mention it, he likes doing things for people he cares for. He won’t even do it exclusively on holidays, if you’ve helped him out or been especially nice to him then he’ll get you a gift as payment.

Tim - not bad, actually. Will probably get something you’ve specifically said you needed or wanted, and will do some pretty good gift wrapping. If ur super close though, he’ll probably be a bit like ej and go all out. He also doesn’t exclusively gift on holidays, I think he’s also one to pay people back in gifts because he’s not great with words or physical affection:

Brian - smooth as shit. Literally you won’t even say what you like/want but he knows you so well that he doesn’t even have to ask- easily finds the thing you’ve wanted more than anything else, and wraps it up all nice and cute with a note. If you bring it up you’ll get that charming smile and a quick quip of “knew you’d like it.” He’s so silly I love him

Sally - now, because she’s a kiddo, she can’t do much spending of money. I mean she can if she wants to and if she asks one of the older residents like Tim, Brian, toby, yk. But if she doesn’t, then she’ll draw a really cute picture (coloured in, too) of everyone and with you with something like a crown on your head and “best big brother/sister/sibling ever :D” and god damn it you will put it on your wall.

Predator and Prey- A Bad Batch Tickle Fic

Isolde is my OC who's a huntress with claws and shortblades. She likes to annoy Hunter and gets along well with Omega.

Hunter raced around the ship with the desperation of a dying man. Chases like these happened often with the batch, but getting caught this time had worse consequences. He wasn’t exactly buddy-buddy with Isolde at the moment, and knew she’d use this as ammunition against him. And so, he weaved around the halls until he got to his bunk. Hunter would’ve shut the door, hoping his pursuer would eventually get bored and leave, but he was tackled to his bunk the second he passed the door frame. He groaned from the weight of Wrecker on his back. 

Wrecker snickered, having finally caught his prey. He called over the rest of the batch to watch him dish out Hunter’s punishment. Hunter just put his head in his hands, not even bothering to pry himself out from under his brother (believe him, he’s tried). He heard the sounds of boots on durasteel as his brothers flocked to his room. Head still in hands, he could practically feel the smirk that Echo was wearing. He heard tech adjust his goggles in amusement. A quiet tip-tap of smaller feet came pattering in. That must’ve been Omega. She’d seen him like this several times, but it never failed to embarrass him. Their almighty leader, about to be “tortured” within an inch of his life. 

“Well, well, well. What do we have here, Wrecker?” Echo said.

“Oh, you know,” Replied Wrecker. “Just the usual- a very ticklish sergeant.” 

Hunter felt his cheeks heat up.

“Actually, you know who’d love this? Isolde! C’mere!”

Shit. Said huntress arrived a few seconds later.

“Yeah? What’s… What in the world is happening right now?” A very confused Isolde asked.

Omega clung at her side, clutching at the fabric at the hem of her shirt.

“Hunter here, was hogging the shower, and I decided he needs to learn a lesson or two about sharing.”

Now that got Hunter to look up.

“Hey! I was a minute over what I normally take! One minute!”

“Yeah! A minute too long, in my opinion.”

Hunter just groaned again and lowered his face back down to the mattress in defeat. 

“I’m still confused,” Isolde said. Wrecker wiggled his fingers.

“Just watch.”

He brought his hands down to Hunter's sides and squeezed them once. Said man let out a high pitched yelp and a choked chuckle. Isolde grinned maniacally. 

“Oooh. I see. The mighty Hunter is ticklish.” Hunter just shoved his face further into the bedsheets. 

“The mighty Hunter is very ticklish,” Echo chimed in. “Turns out “enhanced senses” also meant touch.” Hunter mumbled something that sounded a bit like “shut up.” Omega just giggled. Wrecker swiped a finger down his ribs, causing the man to recoil violently. 

“Now watch this,” He said. 

Wrecker dug his fingers into Hunter’s sides and wiggled. Unable to contain himself, he burst out in giggles, face finally leaving the mattress and hands flying back to pry Wrecker’s wrists away from his body. Unsurprisingly, they didn’t budge.

“Wahahahit! Don’t!” 

“Don’t what?” Wrecker asked.

“Dohohon’t tihAHAHA!” Hunter broke off into belly laughter as Wrecker slid his hands up to his armpits. He couldn’t help kicking his feet, causing Isolde to chuckle at his demise. Wrecker took notice.

“Isolde, do you wanna have a go at him?”

Without even letting her answer, he flipped Hunter over, holding his arms above his head. He let out a quiet “oof” when his head hit Wrecker’s lap. His eyes widened.

“Wait! Nononono, get away from me!” Hunter tried to use his feet to scramble away, but he couldn’t find purchase on the bed sheets. “As your commanding officer, I command you to back off!” Isolde just smirked. Hunter swore his blood ran cold.

“Oh, but you forget something, sergeant,” she purred. Even under the threat of death, he’d deny blushing wildly. “I am no soldier.” And with that, she spidered his ribs with devastating claws.

Hunter wouldn’t have been able to hold back his laughter if he tried. He threw his head back and squeezed his eyes shut, spewing threats every so often. However, the threats of violence had little effect with him giggling his head off. 

“aH! Ihihi’m going to kihihihill you bohohOTH! GAH! DOHON’T!”

She’d found the spot where his top rib met his underarms, scritching with her nails. The man was looking a bit red in the face, so she didn’t keep that up for long. Instead, she switched to skittering her fingers along his neck. His desperate laughter turned into sweet giggles. Her eyes softened at the sound, slightly dazed. That was, until Hunter tried nipping at her hands.

“Hey! None of that.” She formed a claw with her hand and vibrated it into his toned belly. Hunter fell back into deep laughter, shaking his head back and forth to lessen the feeling.

“StahahAHAHAA! NOHOHOHOHO!” He wheezed.

Seeing that he might die any second, Isolde gave him a break, just to be interrupted by a snide chuckle that wasn’t from Hunter. She looked to the doorway, where Crosshair was leaning against the frame, toothpick in mouth. The batch had their mouths hanging wide open; they hadn’t had the best relationship with Crosshair lately, and this rare appearance was unexpected to say the least.

He grinned. “Try the thighs.” And with that, he slunk back into the recesses of the ship.

Isolde turned back to Hunter, who was just catching his breath. The smile she wore was conspiratorial. He could feel his heart drop.

“Well, let’s not let his advice go to waste, shall we?”

She swiped a single claw down the side of his thigh, causing a flinch and a jolt of ticklish energy to course through his body.

“That bad, huh?” She grinned. Hunter refused to meet her eyes. “The silent treatment, hm? That’s alright. I know a way to make you talk.” Isolde squeezed up and down his thighs. Hunter screamed.

“NOHOHOHOHO! STAHAHAHA! PLEHEHEASE!” Okay, “talk” was a strong word. Hunter could barely form a coherent thought, let alone words. He kicked his legs, thrashed back and forth; whatever it took to get that tortuous feeling to stop. Everyone chuckled at his reactions. It was nice to see their oh-so-stoic sergeant smiling for once. Though, he was a bit red in the face.

Thankfully, Isolde noticed he needed a break and stilled her fingers. Wrecker released him from his hold and patted him on the shoulder. Hunter just laid on the bed with an arm strung across his face, taking greedy gulps of air. A dazed smile still sat on his face.

“I…I hate all of you.”

“...”

“Not you, Omega.”

“Late night drives.”

You and Jack hadn’t been dating very long, six months to be exact.

You spent a lot of the earlier months apart, but now that he was finished with tour you spent a lot of your time together.  You still had your own place and so did he.

You spent the first few hours tossing and turning and falling in and out of sleep but never for long. You knew that you would feel bad if you woke him up but you also knew that Jacks sleep schedule had been insane ever since he got home. You decided to text him first, knowing a call would wake him.

You: Baby, are you up?

Your phone started to ring almost instantly. You picked up the phone and heard Jacks voice immediately. “You can’t sleep either baby girl?” He said in an excited tone. “Not at all” you sighed as you got out of bed slowly “sleep schedule still messing with you?” He laughed “of course, I’m still on Sweden time.” You laughed, putting your phone on speaker as you headed to the restroom to wash your face and brush your teeth, you were hoping he’d want to see you.

“Do you wanna go for a drive?” He yawned. “You’re not too tired to drive?” You always worried about him, he’d never admit it but that was one of the things he liked most about you. “No baby, I’ll be fine. I slept most of the day.” You could hear the keys rattling on the other end of the phone. “I’ll see you in about 15 minutes” he hummed. “See you soon baby” you said before hanging up.

You fixed your messy ponytail and put on a cuter lounge outfit, spraying yourself with his favorite perfume before your phone went off. You grabbed your purse and walked out of the door, it was still fairly dark outside and cold, you were surprised at how quickly you started to shiver. You ran to the car as fast as you could, not anticipating the colder weather.

When you got into the car his heater was on, seat warmers too. “I knew you’d be cold” he laughed as you got into the car. You smiled and leaned over to give him a kiss. “Oh papí, you look exhausted” you patted down his curls before giving him one more kiss. “I’m fine” he smiled, as he handed you a warm cup. “Tea” he smiled and you took a sip “Ahh! Thank you.” He smiled as he started the drive.

“You’re so good to me” you smiled as you watched him drive. “It’s just a tea” he wrinkled his nose and laughed. “I know but it was just a nice thought, you didn’t have to do that” you smiled as you took another sip. Jack knew you weren’t so used to being cared for, you were usually the caretaker if anything, you had expressed that to him early on and he tried to keep a mental note of it.

“Can we use your phone for music?” You asked and he handed you his phone “why don’t you want to use yours?” You unlocked his phone and started looking through his playlists “I like your music taste better” you smiled and he nodded. You started playing a song you both knew, knowing he couldn’t resist the urge to sing it. You always loved doing karaoke in the car with him. He grabbed your hand and kissed it, as the two of you sang.

Eventually he turned the music down to ask you if you wanted to see his old schools and you drove around looking for them. It had been about an hour and half and the two of you were getting more and more tired. “Do you wanna go back to my place and sleep?” You asked shyly. You noticed his eyes were getting red, even past his glasses you could see that he was ready to relax. “Yeah, I’m down” he did a u-turn and headed towards your place. “No hesitation, I like it” you teased. “I was hoping you’d ask” he smiled.

“You could’ve just told me you were tired baby” you stroked his beard as a sign of affection. “I didn’t want my morning with you to be over just yet” he smiled.

“Oooh why? You like me or something?” You smirked, holding back a laugh.

“Yeah, something like that” he laughed as he pulled into your driveway.

The way he said it told you that you two were on the same page, and you loved it.

Mickey sits legs crossed on the ground, Tim laying next to him propped up on one hand, the other scratching just behind Dina's ear, who took her spot cuddled next to him on the den's floor.

And while Tim was distracting their dog, Mickey was wrapping gifts. His phone buzzed a few feet away.

"Check that for me?" Mickey leaned down; He didn't particularly care for the holidays, but wrapping was one of the few areas he took great pride in participating in; Every gift was wrapped with precision, every crease narrow and every corner perfect. It was that inner scientist that made him, he thinks.

"It's Abby," Tim's voice was low, on account of him doing his best to not wake the oversized puppy next to him, "She says she'll be over an hour early the day of to help finish setting up."

"Perfect. Tell her she's a lifesaver."

"...Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, it's a lot to put on a dinner for so many people. It could be just us, if you want, and --"

"Timmy, is that jealously I hear?"

"No -- No! Not...It's just, I know you don't care much for Christmas anyways," his voice trails off, he can feel his face burning with embarrassment, and he suddenly becomes very interested in the dark spots of fur on Dina's ears.

"You sure you don't want me all to yourself on Christmas morning?"

"I do, I just," Tim pauses, stutters, he realizes how what he's just said sounds, and swears if the light from that electric fireplace heater in Mickey's living room hadn't already casted a reddish glow across the room he fears what his boyfriend might have thought -- at the same time, he can hear Mickey's voice now, 'You're too cute when you blush,' in an all too familiar tone, considering the amount of times he's heard just that phrase alone before...

"Christmas is supposed to be spent with your family. And the team is my family."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to sound like that."

"I know," Mickey slides the now wrapped gift towards the growing pile under the tree they've set up a few feet away. Something about it makes his heart beat a little faster, and a smile to grow across his face. He never had a Christmas like this to look forward to, one with the people he cared about, with the person he loved the most. He couldn't help but get excited, to go all out despite his many admittances in the previous years that he hated nothing more than the whole winter festivity season, "But it's our first Christmas together. Like, together together."

"I hope it's everything you want it to be."

Mickey looks over. He looks over at the way Tim's laid so comfortably next to him, even on the hardwood floor. The way he's so distracted by Dina, who's awake now and trying so desperately to catch Tim's hand as he ruffles her fur and grins. The way he still wears that blush that Mickey knows had his shoulders and chest as red as that poinsettia on the coffee table, and chuckles. Everything seemed to fall in place this year for him, for once he felt as if everything would be okay. Like it was worth the effort.

He moves a little closer, leans down and kisses Tim; He smiles into it for a second and breaks away only after he finds the words to say.

"I know it will be."
