Twenty-five years of the anime and Ash hasn’t aged but what if he did?

Kanto to Hoenn: Average one year to explore a region and Ash would be around 12 yrs old when he reaches Hoenn. May starts at the cannon age of 10, keeping the distinction of May being a novice trainer and Ash as the experienced one.

Sinnoh: Brock is roughly 20 years old, probably a good incentive for him to settle on a career path and explains why he stops traveling with Ash. Dawn is closer in age with Ash because of their good friendship.

Unova: Unova was interesting. Ash's age matches Cilan which makes an interesting dynamic because this would be the first region where Ash does not have an older mentor figure traveling with him. I think this fits well. Cilan’s there to give advice, but it is not always effective as Ash sees him more as a peer. Iris is peak annoying sibling energy. I would put Trip around the age of 13, starting his Pokémon journey late. Perhaps he took some time to attend a training school so he has some battle experience to start. For Ash, he doesn’t take the rivalry as seriously as Trip because he’s younger and less experienced than him. Unova is the region of hard lessons for Ash. He underestimates his opponents and makes some dumb decisions, but it is an important learning period for Ash to mature.

Kalos: Clemont and Bonnie are at cannon age, making Clemont younger than Ash. Ash is one of the oldest in the group but he’s grown since Unova. Ash could use his experience of traveling with gym leaders to provide advice for Clemont as he works through his confidence issue.

Alola: Alola was another interesting region to consider. The Alola gang could have aged up with Ash, but keeping the school setting was less interesting even if it was like a 'Pokémon University,' and the Island Challenges are very important part for Alola and is a rite of passage for children. In this headcanon, Ash is an assistant teacher at the school as compensation for residing at Kukui’s house during his stay in Alola. Ash would fully take on the role of a mentor and friend for the gang while exploring the region and challenging the Kahunas. Gladion and Hau would be aged up to be respectable rivals.

Galar: After spending a year at the Pokémon school and becoming Alola’s first champion, Ash realizes there’s still a lot to learn, that is why he takes up Professor Cerise's offer to be a research assistant. Goh and Chloe are aged up so Goh is on equal footing with Ash and Chloe at an age where she’s trying to figure what to do with her life.

Gladion x Reader

(prep school AU)

It was Y/n's first day of school and also her first time seeing her friend Gladion in a while. She walked into the school and asked for her dorm number, key, and schedule. The receptionist gladly gave her the things she needed and gave her some directions. Y/n walked up the stairs and passed many people who just stared at her like she was an alien. She finally got to her dorm and knocked on the door before opening it.

"Hey- Gladion?!" Y/n exclaimed

"Y/n!? What are you doing in my dorm!"

"What are you doing in my dorm?!"

The two friends both stopped for a second but then embraced each other.

"Oh I see you two already know each other" A lady announced causing to the pair to separate from each other

"So you're both probably confused but you two will be sharing a dorm despite your genders because of an uneven amount of female and male students and a lack of dorms, we already talked to your parents about this and since they know you two are friends they signed off" The older woman walked into the room

Once everything was situated the woman left leaving Gladion and Y/n alone.

"So, it's been a while hasn't it" Y/n awkwardly broke the silence in the room

"Yeah... you look a lot different" Gladion told her

"So do you"

"Wanna battle?" Gladion asked

"Yeah sure it'll be just like old times... the old times when I would always win" Y/n said mischievously

"We'll see about that Y/n"

Gladion led her out of the dorm and the two made their way out of the school. On the way they were met with stares from the other students and glares from Gladion's fangirls. They made their way out to the schools battle field and go to opposite sides from each other.

"You ready to lose Gladion" Y/n teased bringing out her Altaria

"Pffft- I won't be the one losing" Gladion told her while bringing out his Lycanroc

People started gathering around the sides to see the two battle.

"You can have the first move" Y/n offered

"Alright then. Lycanroc use rock throw"

"Altaria dodge it and use dragon dance"

Y/n's Altaria swiftly dodged rock throw and successfully did dragon dance

"Lycanroc use stone henge" Gladion's Lycanroc was fast enough to do some damage on Y/n's pokemon

"You can do this Altaria, when you're ready use fury attack" Y/n exclaimed

Y/n's Altaria eventually won to Gladion's dismay. Y/n did a celebratory dance and then she made her way to Gladion.

"Good job Gladion!" Y/n congratulated him

"Looks like I underestimated you" Gladion said

"You really did" Y/n bragged while beginning to head back to the dorms

"Yeah I'll beat you next time" Gladion told her

They headed back to their dorm and got ready for bed. Y/n was brushing her hair and Gladion was winding down and playing some games on his phone. Y/n had decorated her side of the dorm and their sides were very contradictory. Her side is very elegant and blue while Gladion's was very punk. They were chit chatting until a boy came bursting into their dorm making them both sit up.

"Gladion holy- wait whose this" A kid with green hair almost screamed as he entered

"That's Y/n Hau she's my roommate, now why are you screaming" Gladion groaned

"Your sister has a boyfriend!"

Y/n gasped.

"No she doesn't Hau"

"Gladion you didn't tell me Lillie also goes to school with us" Y/n whined

"Well I'll take you to her dorm and you can see her!" Hau suggested totally forgetting everything he was just screaming about

"Yeah let's go" Y/n jumped out of her bed and walked over to Hau

Gladion got up to follow the two just to make sure they don't cause any accidents

Hau walked Y/n over to Lillie's dorm which she shared with a girl named Bee. He knocked on the door and waited for one of the girls to open it. Bee came to the door and stared up at the older kids at the door.

"Lillie your brother and he friends are here" Bee called for Lillie

Lillie came to the door and Bee whispered something to Lillie before she went back into the dorm.

"Hey guys- Y/n?!" Lillie exclaimed

"Hey Lillie" Y/n smiled

The four had a lovely chat and Lillie does not have a boyfriend, Hau was wrong. Eventually they had to go back to their dorms for lights out. When Y/n and Gladion got into their dorm Y/n immediately got into her bed. Gladion was going to stay up a bit longer and Y/n was already asleep. About an hour went by and Gladion finally got tired. He walked over to Y/n's bed and made sure she was ok and kissed her head and regretted that decision because Y/n smiled and quickly sat up and started laughing.

"Thanks for the goodnight kiss Gladion" Y/n was still laughing but she stood up and kissed Gladion's cheek

~~In Lillie and Bee's dorm~~

"You think Gladion and Y/n will date Bee?" Lillie asked petting her Alolan Vulpix she calls Snowy

"Yeah Gladion seemed fond of her, he's never fond of anybody normally" Bee responded petting her Espurr (Espurr is my favorite Pokemon)

"I never really talk about this stuff but do you have a crush?"

"No... maybe, crushes are a waste of time I wanna find true love after school Lillie" Bee explained

"Makes sense...wait you said"maybe" so you do like someone!"

~~In the morning~~

Y/n woke up to Gladion's alarm which she was not happy about. Y/n groaned and put her pillow over her head and ears. Gladion sat up and shut off the alarm. He got up fairly quick but Y/n was still in her bed.

"Y/n wake up we have school" Gladion told her

"Nooooo" Y/n whined

"Such a child" Gladion mumbled

"Hey! I am not a child!" Y/n retorted

Y/n finally decided to listen to Gladion and get up. She grabbed her stuff and headed to the shared bathroom to get ready. She put on her uniform except for the blazer but she added some shorts underneath her skirt (because if she's like me and her bottom makes it to where skirts are too short on her butt... it's a curse), did her hair, and walked out of the bathroom to put on her socks and shoes.

"You have shorts under that skirt right?" Gladion said while messing with his tie

"Yeah why?" Y/n asked

"Some of the boys here will try to look up your skirt, I'm just making sure" Gladion said

"Ew gross"

The two finished getting ready and packing their book bags. They started to walk down the halls to their first class to their luck they have all the same classes except for their athletic periods. (What a coincidence :0) Gladion showed her the way and just like yesterday she got stared at. Gladion was honestly scared for Y/n because kids are mean. The pair went through the day like it was nothing and when lunch came Y/n sat with Lillie and her friends. While talking and eating the so-called 'popular girls' came up to their table. It was a group of five. They were all fairly pretty and had that look to them that just screamed they're royalty in this school.

"So you're Y/n right?" A girl who looked like she was the bossiest of the bunch asked

"Yeah that's me" Y/n said with a smile

The girls introduced themselves as Musume Ronshaku, Kashiko Murasaki, Hana Daidaiyama, Kokoro Momoiro, Hoshiko Mizudori. (Yes I'm using the yandere simulator bullies)

"Why don't you come sit with us? We promise it'll be fun"

Y/n looked to the people she was sitting with for confirmation and the girls nodded at her Y/n stood up with her lunch and the girl who asked her name linked arms with her (probably a Melanie Martinez reference *cough* Lunchbox friends *cough*) They lead Y/n to another table where their stuff was Y/n was sat right beside Musume.

"So Y/n how's your first day been?" Kokoro asked

"It's been alright Gladion has really been a major help" Y/n replied

"Already stealing boys hearts I see, I mean you're a pretty girl I can see how someone could fall for you" Kashiko remarked

"I mean I'm not that pretty and me and Gladion are only friends I've known him forever y'know" Y/n told them

Y/n spent the rest of lunch with those girls and they eventually got her number and social media account names and Y/n felt like she actually made some friends. When lunch was over she went to her next class and waited for Gladion. The rest of the day went by fairly easy and they got to relax for the rest of the day until bed time.

"So did you make any friends?" Gladion asked

"Yeah I did these girls came up to me during lunch they all had blonde hair and tan skin but they all had different color streaks in their hair" Y/n described the girls and Gladion became concerned

"Y/n I'm not saying not to be friends with them but be careful I won't boss you around but I will try to help you"

Y/n and Gladion walked back to their dorm so they could change into something more comfortable. Y/n went into the bathroom to change and Gladion changed in their room. They changed and decided to go play in the field with their pokemon.

Months went by like minutes and years like days. Y/n and Gladion graduated with almost no problems and Y/n even won prom queen which was a huge shock to her. They were now living as roommates in their own apartment. I guess some things never change. Gladion and Y/n did eventually start dating thanks to Lillie and Hau and today was their 1 year dating anniversary.

Y/n woke up to the sun shining through the window and immediately remembered that it's their anniversary. She looked at Gladion who was sleeping beside her. 'God he's so pretty' she said to herself. She decided to get up and make breakfast so she did. She walked to the kitchen and turned on the coffee pot. She got out a frying pan trying to be as quiet as possible. Her Altaria came into the room to greet Y/n.

"Good Morning, Altaria" Y/n said getting some eggs out of the fridge and setting them on the counter. She turned on the burner and cracked the eggs into the pan.

"Good morning Y/n" Gladion said shuffling out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. He walked to Y/n and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind resting his head on her shoulder.

"Good morning Gladion" Y/n chirped

Y/n was a morning person and Gladion was not. They're opposite additudes, styles, preferences made them a great match.

Y/n continued making breakfast and Gladion clung to her the whole time even when she walked around to turn if the coffee pot, grab plates, but bread into the toaster.

They spent the rest of their morning lounging around until Gladion fully woke up.

Y/n was watching some TV while laying on the couch with the pokemon until Gladion crawled to lay on top of her with his head on her chest. Y/n laughed at his cuddly behavior. They both fell asleep fairly quickly because I'm tired of writing this oneshot.

- even if they acknowledge their little sibling's found strength, they will always have their back

-Are associated with an organization that some people have issues with (bonus Gladion has TWO that being the Aether Foundation and Team Skull)

They’re so similar that’s actually CRAZY!! I love looking at characters from different media and comparing their traits, it’s always so fun to see what lines up and what doesn’t haha

Gladion x Moon (selene/mizuki) hc's

• Gladion admired Moon for her impressive skill as a pokemon trainer

• Of course they were rivals, and he wanted to surpass her, but she is the first person who made battling seem fun for him, rather then just a means to survive and get stronger

• Of course getting stronger was his main goal, but each time they battled one another, Gladion finally understood how a pokemon battle can be fun, especially when it's with a friend, and how battling a strong opponent you respect will only make you steonger

• As they got older, Gladion realised he had complicated feelings for Moon, that he didn't really understand himself

• He was convinced these feelings he had for Moon was just admiration, after all she's the strongest trainer in Alola

• Hau and Lillie can see how obvious his feelings are for her, despite being oblivious himself

• Moon is also completely blind to this

• Moon never thought Gladion was a bad guy

• She could see from how torn his clothes were, how fragile his body seemed, how he was treated by the team skull grunts... and most importantly how his pokemon battled for him

• She knew his Pokemon saw him as not just a trainer but as a friend, so that told Moon that despite his roughness and cool guy tsundere act that Gladion was a good person underneath it all

• Moon defended any harsh words anyone ever said about Gladion, because even though he wasn't always fhe nicest to her, and he didn't consider them friends, she still thought of him as her friend

• Maybe even part of Moon...always secretly liked Gladion more than a friend, but she couldn't admit it out loud, in fear of rejection as she believed Gladion didn't even consider them true friends

• Lillie had to literally spell it out for Gladion to realise he had a crush on Moon

• He was in denial for the longest time, and he avoided her sub-consciously because of this

• It wasn't until Gladion was training with kahuna Nanu that Nanu made a passing joke and he realised how obvious his feelings were to everyone but himself

• When Moon was training on the beach one late night with her pokemon, Gladion caught up to her and asked for a battle

• After the heated battle Moon waited for Gladion to take his leave, as he usually disappeared after battling her, but to her surprise this time he stayed, and asked if they could train together

• Moon was happy to train alongside Gladion, happy he was coming out of his shell more and more

• They continued to meet up for nightly training sessions, continuing to get stronger together

• When Hau invited Moon for malasadas she somehow convinced Gladion to come too, snd of course Lillie tagged alomg

• When the four of them were sat eating Malasadas Hau jokingly asked when they were gonna start dating

• Gladion reacted badly to this, feeling both embarrassed and exposed

• Moon was also embarrassed, but when she saw how Gladion reacted to this she felt deeply saddened...she knew her and Gladion wernt exactly friends, he had told this to her face...yet she felt strangely close to him, and him reacting badly to the thought of them two dating...even if was just a joke...it upset her

• Gladion noticed how Moons' demeanor changed after this, but he couldn't figure out why

• He thought he had done something wrong so he stopped showing up to the beach to train alongside her

• Moon felt heartache by this... she looked forward to seeing him every night

• It had been a little while since the two had seen each other

• During this time Gladion realised how much he truly did like Moon in that way, he missed training with her, but not only the training...

• He missed the pointless conversations they'd have, even the ones where he remained silent and listened to Moon's rambling, he missed the way her aqua grey eyes shined in the moonlight... he missed the look of determination and excitement in her eyes during a battle... he missed her smile...

• It may of took him a concerning amount of time to realise his feelings

• Moon had almost gave up on her own feelings, so no matter how much her heart longed for Gladion she couldn't face telling him

• After all...she couldn't confess to someone who admitted to not even liking her...

• Gladion was silent for a while, Moon a bit more quiet then usual, the two both wanting the same thing convinced the other doesnt

• Moon started up the conversation...

•"Look Gladion I know we aren't friends, but your one of my most precious people, and Im so happy we get to know each other...even if you don't see us as friends."

•Gladion looked down at a sheepish Moon, tears prickling in her eyes

•"It's not that I don't consider you a friend...your the closest thing I have to one. I don't think someone like myself deserves to be a friend to you."

• It was true, whilst when the first initially met Gladion didn't care for friendship, once Moon helped save his mother he had to have a certain level of respect for her...but even through the years together Gladion didn't think such a pure soul like Moon should have someone like himself as a friend, someone who had fo rely being team skulls muscle to survive, someone who felt they'd abandoned their sister, someone who could never seem to best them in battle...

• "What do you mean someone like you...? Your amazing Gladion...your really are!"

•"Thank you. Even if i don't believe it myself I appreciate it coming from someone as special as you."

• He paused for a moment, blushing deep and looking away from her

•"Your...really special Moon....and I don't mean just the way everyone says you are because you received a sparkling stone from Tapu KoKo....I mean your special, to me....and I like you!"

•Moon was silent and just repeating his words over and over in her head

•Gladion shifted uncomfortably in her silence

•"You like me?"

"Don't make me repeat myself!!"

• Gladion started rambling in an attempt to cover what he'd admitted

•Moon was still sat in silence

• "Do you like me in the way I think you mean?"

• "Which way do you think I mean?"

• Gladion thought this was his opportunity pursuade her it wasn't how she thought

• Moon thought this was an opportunity to finally reveal her own feelings...or completely embarrass herself is she misunderstood

• Gently, yet quickly she clasped her hands on Gladions face and dived onto his lips, kissing him sweetly but passionate

• She pulled away after a couple of seconds...

•"That's...that is the way you meant, right?"

• Gladion blushed but nodded

▪︎ Moon just smiled and kissed him again, Gladion this time being somewhat prepared, looped his hands around Moons back, shyly returning the kiss

•Lillie and Hau were so relieved to finally have these two together, them both knowing Gladion and Moons feelings but keeping the secret was torture!

• Gladion, whilst overwhelmed with joy finally being with Moon, was also incredibly nervous and unsure about everything

• He had a cool guy attitude but Moon could see through it with ease, and she could see how anxious he truly was

• Gladion was always unsure if an expensive date and getting dressed up like they do in the movies should be the sort of date the two go on... I mean he did come from a rich family

• Moon was happy with malasadas and a stroll on the beach or a battle tree date, and Gladion was happy that Moon was happy

• They have a very golden retriever and black cat kinda relationship

• Gladion is reserved, but can be fiesty, has blank stares but a smile that can melt you. Moon has a outgoing, seemingly happy demeanor and whilst she looks like she's all bark no bite, she does have a pretty ferocious bite if you hurt those she cares for

• Gladion and Moon live for double battles! These two will challenge anyone and everyone who'll accept

• They love to train together, their pokemon working well together and complimenting one another in battles, defending each other and covering one another's weaknesses

• Though when they battle each other its a different story, they may know each others teams strengths and weaknesses like they know their own, yet each battle they have something unexpected from the other person happens

• Gladion is a pretty anxious person underneath and just being around Moon relaxes him

• Moon leaves his little notes or cute gifts in places he'll find like in his pokeballs as held items or in his bag

• Gladion is reluctant about PDA just because he's a private person

• Gladion always feels anxious when Moon is off exploring / doing missions in ultra space because he's learnt firsthand how dangerous these beasts are

• They are Alolas cutest couple, snd since Moon is champion and Gladion was acting president of the aether foundation they are both pretty well known

•Rotomdex is their biggest shipper

• Closely followed by Kahuna Olivia who finds the pair adorable

• Gladion finally has a person he can confide in and share what's on his mind or in his heart, someone he can rely on

• Overall these two just compliment each other very well, they strive to protect the people they love and make sure that everyone and all pokemon are treated fairly

• Gladion making sure that the aether foundation goes back to its original values, to help injured pokemon and protect species from distinction

• Moon keeping up her training and meeting new people and pokemon that will enrich her journey, and defending her championship

Hau and Hop have a lot more going for them than people give them credit and actually have really nice character development and storyline. I really don't think they're comparable and the reason a lot of people have given me to them being comparable is their happiness and that they're "visually similar". They have very different personalities and motivations and I'm tired of them being compared to each other

There's a lot of similarities. The copypasted animation, the best friend-ness, the optimism, their older relative being a respected figure, them i itially not coming across as threatening but gradually becoming formidable, them clashing with Gladion/Bede in a similar way...

That said, there's just as much seperating the two and I wish more people appreciated that. I feel like they just screwed up by putting them directly after one another.

Man I fr disappeared anyway the fact that there's almost no AGERE content for Gladion and Guzma is disappointing and now I'm here to fix it giving my HCs for both. Also I don't watch the anime so this I'd all based off the games ALSO I'm a major Hau X Gladion and Guzma X Kukui shipper (But I'm formatting this where you should be able to read as platonic)

Gladion:

- Age ranges from 3 - 8, he typically leans older because his brain just feels way too vulnerable when he's younger

- I imagine he spends most his time regressed alone, feeling more at peace being by his partner, Silvally who is very used to taking care of him the best it can, Silvally can also basically sniff out when he needs/is about to regress

- I also imagine he still lives in the former Team Skull hangout where Plumeria, Guzma, and a few grunts reside

- With that I'd like to add Plumeria, Guzma, and Hau know about his regression (Hau on accident and Plumeria and Guzma sniffed him out L)

- Even with them knowing, he still primarily stays alone unless one of them so happen to stop by which then he allows them in, but never really seeks anyone out

- Plumeria and Guzma act like his parents idc they also have shit parents and understand Gladion so they try their best to give him something none of them ever got, parental love (Bonus: They spoil him rotten sometimes he'll get home and just have a present on his bed that's like "For the little brat" and he scoffs (very happily might I add))

- Hau introduces this guy to all the kiddy stuff he missed out on as a kid (I imagine Lusamine to be very selective on what her kids received and got to watch) from shows to all sorts of toy franchises and what not

- Bonus: Guzma gave him a stuffed Wimpod he immediately called "Wimpy" because that'd a hilarious name and he's been attached to it ever since

Guzma:

- Age ranges from 5 - 12 BIG ol' range and he can fall anywhere at any time there's no consistency one day you end up with a 5 year old the next you end up with a bratty ass teen

- Took him awhile to start reaching out because he loves being around people but was waayy too ashamed to let anyone know about his regression (Thank god Plumeria found out by stumbling in one day)

- Kukui also knows but that's because Plumeria brought him to the Team Skull house and managed to convince Guzma to tell him

- Kukui is ENAMORED with tiny Guzma, he asks Guzma to tell him whenever he wants him over and if he doesn't, he's gone to Plumeria and told her to call him over if Guzma won't LOL

- Guzma's pretty comfy going out when he's at an older age so Kukui takes him everywhere from parks to stores to places FULL of Pokémon (Guzma and Kukui both love searching out Pokémon, playing with them, helping them, all that. Tiny Guzma has a big heart when it comes to Pokémon and he shows it very clearly, it takes everything in Kukui to not explode from how sweet he is (even if he's a brat to him and Plumeria half the time LOL))

- Forgot to mention this dude is a BRAT, due to his childhood he's really used to pushing boundaries and trying to push things to the edge to see what's happen but despite all that, Plumeria and Kukui treat him with kindness and patience and it manages to surprise him everytime

- He gets super paranoid when either of them get mad though even when its not at him or caused by him at all, he'll immediately start to close up and act with caution (Those day always end up with Movie Nights or Marathons to calm him down)

- Though whenever you praise him for literally anything he brightens up so much its so cute (Childhood trauma and all that of course give this guy some love!!!)
