listen, i know that the red/blue colours are significant for Light and L. but like, why did they make other characters have colours if they don't follow them?? i remember watching Death Note, and being like "cool Light is red and L is blue" so anytime i see a character with either colour i will know who's side they'll be on" then the next character with a colour is introduced and its Misa, with light blue. what. like i get she has the red shinigami eyes, but why is the rest of her blue??? why is matsuda yellow. why is aizawa green?? at least with namikawa it makes sense that he's purple, he's playing both sides. but everyone else outside of Light, L, Namikawa, and Near?? what happened

October 15, 2004:

Yotsuba Kira meeting is held to discuss Coil’s report on L.

The meeting is discreetly observed by the Kira Task Force thanks to bugs and cameras placed in the meeting room.

Posing as L, Light Yagami contacts Yotsuba employee Reiji Namikawa and offers immunity from prosecution if he blocks the killing of Yotsuba’s competitors.

Impressed, L suggests that Light Yagami might succeed him, but they again come to blows when Light realizes that he is still under suspicion of being Kira.

The Kira Task Force splits over tactics.

Misa Amane agrees to L's plan for her to infiltrate Yotsuba as part of an ad campaign.

IT WAS NEARING NOON AND THERE WAS STILL NO SIGN OF THE DETECTIVE. Namikawa pushed his sleeve up just enough to triple check the time on his watch. His gaze then lifted, flickering towards the large window that ran the length of the cafe front. Right as he did, he caught a glimpse of someone rather familiar starting to walk away and across the street. Touta Matsuda. He lost sight of him soon after and a light sigh parted his lips.

What was that about?

Namikawa grasped the straw of his drink between his thumb and forefinger and stirred it around in the glass, hearing the cubes of ice clink against the side as he did so. After taking one final sip, he leaned back in his chair and let his arms fold loosely across his chest. So, did that mean they weren't going to be having lunch? And after he'd come all this way... Namikawa shook his head and stayed right where he was.

He didn't chase after people.
