shadowsight x rootspring hypokits?

I like this ship cause I’ve seen good things on it, but personally I have only read 2 of the books where these two are the main characters and don’t really know they’re personalities nor their characters a whole lot. So bare with me.

Also, lucky you Anon. I felt like doing a whole litter this big and they all survive lol.

Anyways. For the storyline ima say they became mates after a while? Sense I know their at least friends along with Bristlefrost. Anyways.

Bearstream- Bearstream is a big she-cat and the biggest of the litter. She is very mature and wise. And often is one to put down any dumb ideas. She lives with her father Shadowsight Shadowclan along with her brother Blackeagle. Being very close with him. Though she knows that she has two other littermates in Skyclan. She is a mostly black tabby and goldish tabby Tortoiseshell with green eyes.

Blackeagle- Blackeagle is a quiet tom. Mostly talking to his kin. He is a cat most call mysterious, though really isn’t. He just is shy and hates communicating, that’s why he gets along with the elders mostly. Listening quietly to their stories. He doesn’t know about his kin in Skyclan but is very close to Bearstream. He is a dark gray, almost black tabby tom with a lighter belly. He has dark green eyes.

Pebblesplash- Pebblesplash is the smallest of the cats. Being named after her great-grandmother.(Pebbleshine?) she is a very sweat she-cat and love hanging out with her brother. She often loves patrolling around the pines as she feels more connected to them and often runs into patrols with makes a lot of Shadowclan cats suspicious of her. Many cats think she also looks a lot like Bearstream except without the hight. She also is a fantastic hunter and often is praised for it. Being a very good tree-climber. She is a more of a goldish tabby and black tabby Tortoiseshell with dark reddish-amber eyes.

Sunshine- Sunshine is very chill. Though doesn’t mind getting into a fight or two with Thunderclan or Shadowclan just to get his blood running. He also loves hunting in the tree with his sister, Pebblesplash and also likes the pines. He does know about his father and siblings in Shadowclan but doesn’t know who they are. All Rootspring told him was that his father, or mother per-say was in Shadowclan with two of his siblings, but wouldn’t say more cause he didn’t want to put any of them in danger. In case of someone was listening. He is a bright golden tabby tom with amber eyes. Inherited by Shadowsight’s red eyes.

That’s it’s! If your wondering why I didn’t give the cats that looked the most to the other. I.E. Blackeagle(looks like Shadow but stays with Shadow) and Sunshine(looks like Root but stays with Root) and that’s because if cats were smart and noticed Blackeagle looked like Shadowsight but was Rootspring’s son that could make cats sus. So ya. That’s my reasoning and I feel Shadowsight would come up with that cause I feel like he’s smart. Also, he said he got pregnant by a dead Shadowclan warrior but no one could piece together who and with Tigerstar his father, and the only medicine cats, kinda of, he wasn’t exiled but he was kinda disowned for a while.

Warriors Ships Hypokits: Genderfluid!Shadowsight x Rootspring Edition

In this AU, Shadowsight is a warrior instead of a Medicine Cat, and Rootspring and Bristlefrost are just good close friends. Poor Shadowsight doesn't know this though and assumes that the two are in love and together. They push down their feelings and pine after Rootspring in silence for ages until Bristlefrost (who doesn't get her soul destroyed and lives) literally drags the two of them together and tells them that they both mutually like each other and that they need to figure things out. The whole encounter is incredibly awkward but very helpful and by the end of it the two have become mates. Shadowsight moves to SkyClan to be with his mate. Mama Dovewing and her sisters wish her well while Papa Goldenstar ugly cries (one of his babies has found love!!!! he's so happy!!).

They have three kits together:

Bristlewhirl- dark brown tabby molly with unusual swirling stripes and amber eyes (the obligatory Tigerclone of the litter). Cis molly, omnisexual. They use they/them pronouns. Named after their godmother Bristlefrost. Bristlewhirl is very odd, to say the least. They are often found staring into space or seemingly talking to something or someone that isn't actually there. They don't seem to be all there most of the time, and they make a lot of nonsensical comments out of nowhere. As it turns out, Bristlewhirl has the ability to communicate with spirits similarly to their grandfather Tree, but the only spirits they can speak with are from the Dark Forest. Their family worries about them a lot due to the fact that they don’t seem to be able to turn the ability off and that they often experience violent visions due to the influence of the evil spirits. Time will tell what their future will hold, and what they will do with their powers... They are kept closely monitored in camp, and are a Builder.

Dovetalon- small and fluffy gray tabby molly with blue eyes. Cis molly, lesbian. She uses she/fae pronouns. Named after her grandma Dovewing. Dovetalon is the polar opposite of her namesake personality-wise- sharp-tongued, argumentative, and stubborn. Fae hates that fae are considered to just be “small and cute”, as fae wants to become Deputy someday and to be taken seriously. She overcompensates by overworking and being overly argumentative in order to make herself appear more suitable as a Warrior and a Deputy candidate. Unfortunately, this also means that fae have few friends and are not particularly well-liked by many. Dovetalon is also the primary defender of her two siblings and often squares off against cats who mock her brother Goldpatch for being a Den-Father and suggest her sister Bristlewhirl is evil because she can speak to Dark Forest spirits. She is a Climber Hunter, and does eventually become Deputy. 

Goldpatch- dark gray tom with golden patches and blue eyes. Trans tom, aromantic asexual. Named after his grandpa Goldenstar. Goldpatch is a kind and gentle cat who is all-too aware of his faults. He isn't good at hunting on the ground or in trees and isn't a fast runner either. While his talent of being an excellent kit-sitter does a lot to help his clan, he struggles with the thought that he isn't really providing anything and is just sitting around in the Nursery doing nothing while his clanmates do actual work. This is disproven one day when a fox attacks the Nursery and Goldpatch fights it off single-pawed, preventing it from harming the monarchs and kits inside. He becomes a lot more confident after that and is even more happy and content with his role in the clan. He is a Den-Father.

I was originally gonna do the ‘Draw Your Favorite Warriors ____’ challenge but there were so many ships that I liked that I decided to just draw all my favorite ships instead! I think all of these are not canon but honestly in Warriors the best ships are the ones that aren’t real. (Also side note, I have multiple ships with a same character, that’s because I don’t ever really have a ‘favorite’ ship and I often like multiple ships)

i used to be a hardcore shadowroot shipper! but i just feel like it doesn't have the same impact as many other options. i don't like canon bristleroot much but i feel like it can do more then this . would it be bad if i said i think we just shipped this cuz it's not bristleroot?

💋 : is there any ships out there you absolutely hate for genuinely no good reason at all. like its not problematic in the slightest, if anything it's one of the better ones, you just cannot bring yourself to enjoy it

any ship involving jayfeather or shadowsight honestly . . . in my head they will forever be aroace so whenever i see any ship art for either of them im just like . he would NOT be mates with them !! lol

as for specific ships, ive never been a fan of shadowsight and sunbeam or sunbeam and rootspring or leafpool and hawkfrost... to me with the sunbeam x shadow/root ships it just feels like people are shipping her with any tom she interacts with as a way to be like "look! this character would be a much better mate than nightheart!" and arent actually putting any thought into the ship outside of that. leafpool and hawkfrost just doesnt appeal 2 me though. im a mothpool truther <3 hehe

i could write an entire essay on nightheart's character i think. probably 8 whole paragraphs until i start repeating myself haha

same goes for leafpool too as shes one of my other favs , i could probably write a whole essay about her as well :3

☯️ : what dynamic between two cats has got you up at night pacing for hours? (romantic, platonic, familial, etc)

the relationship between the three and squirrelflight/leafpool has always been interesting to me and god i wish it was explored more in canon... i feel like we never really get to see hollyleaf's true Road To Redemption and her coming to terms with everything and forgiving leafpool and squirrelflight until she dies. i really wish she wasnt killed off in the last hope btw that still makes me so mad grgargharhgar harghaarhgar hgarragh she could have been so cool and such a good character but rargh. rghrgrrrgh

honestly i love any dynamic between a cat and their parent bc thers so many rocky parent/kit relationships in wc and i love them all to death because i love projecting my own parental issues on to them . this also includes nightheart/sparkpelt and frostpaw/curlfeather and sunbeam/berryheart and the three/leafpool (and squirrelflight)... even rainflower/crookedstar and eventually crookedstar/silverstream, the ending of crookedstar's promise where he struggles to even spend time with silverkit after willowbreeze and minnowkit and willowkit's death is Heartbreaking, when he's still grieving and pushing away his one remaining kit who doesn't even know he's her father... gah. ghhra.a.rghgr hrg ahgr hahrhgh (positive) (i love relationships like this theyre so good)

ill be real ive never actually had friends who like warrior cats. like i knew people in 5th grade who did but we never talked about the characters or discussed anything about the books we just roleplayed it during recess . . .

i do think that i probably turn a lot of Potential Friends away just because i dare to like a character that the majority of the fandom hates...which is unfortunate that the fandom has gotten to that point where liking/disliking a character will get you mass blocked by all the popular wc blogs but. oh well! at least i know im not alone in liking nightheart, there's at least a handful of nightheart fans out there <3

favorite mother and kit: leafpool and jayfeather. idk i just thjink their relationship is very interesting! the lost stars bonus scene made me cry. dovewing and shadowsight and yellowfang and firestar are close seconds

favorite siblings: the og 3 OBVIOUSLY. i love them sm im gonna name my children after them. hollyleaf is a beautiful name for a baby girl.

favorite m/m ship: i hc half of these character as nby but whatever. i chose jayberry, rootshadow, and firegray. i just think theyre cute. theyre my scrinkly scrimblos.

favorite father and kit: tree and rootspring!! i just think they have a really sweet relationship in tbc. i also really like togerstar and shadowsight

favorite friendship: idk about you guys but i always thought the medicine cats should get more time as a sort of friend group! nowadays in asc everyone hates each other 😔😔 but anyways yeah i like to think jaypaw, kestrelpaw, willowpaw, and flamepaw were all friends and got into hijinks

favorite f/m ship: bristleroot 😔 idk they just really grew on me in alitm. i think they definitely could have been written better but oh well. i also like sunbeam/shadowsight but this art is kinda old so yeah

favorite grandparent and kit: firestar and the three!!  i adored the family dynamic in po3 it was so wholesome (too bad it couldnt stay that way ._.) i like to imagine firestar was always trying to be hip and cool with his grandkits and other apprentices and they were just like please dont grandpa.

mentor and apprentice: leafpool, jayfeather, and alderheart!! they were totally a chaotic trio

favorite f/f ship. i also hc these characters as nby fhksbdjshf anyways i chose hollyolive and dovebriar! hollyleaf x olivenose is a rarepair of mine (they interact i think 0 times) but theyre cute to me. dovebriar is also cute. enough said.

Out of curiosity, what are the ships you hate the least? (that you're comfortable with sharing! Dont want you getting hounded for shipping something bad deemed by the masses)

Oh I don't really hate ships, I just tend not to care about them usually. Warriors just isn't very good at romance typically, rarely even spends enough time on friendships for me to find them interesting. I know some people can see two cats have one conversation and decide to ship them but I just don't see the point lol. But to each their own, of course!

That said! Ships I very much enjoy:

Cloudtail x Brightheart (a classic)

Tallstar x Jake (gay road trip!)

Ravenpaw x Barley (is there any greater fantasy than running away from abuse in your home to go fall in love and live on a farm with your gay husband? I don't think so)

Leafpool x Mothwing (very cute, very funny reading Leafpool constantly thinking about how beautiful Mothwing is)

Dovewing x Tigerheart/star (I like that they got back together when they were a little older and wiser, I like that Dovewing had the opportunity to start over in a new Clan, I love how much Tigerstar clearly loves his wife and kids and will do anything for them, good family dynamics in this series are so rare)

and of course, Shadowsight x Rootspring (I love how ashamed they are of themselves while respecting each other so deeply for the very traits they're ashamed of. boys!! teach each other to love yourselves!)

There may be others but that's all that's coming to mind!

The truly controversial ships I enjoy are for another fandom — I won't share for fear of getting eaten alive lol.

#some of the ships i shared also have some controversy but meh. I'm not bothered by it #overall i have a very... chill approach to shipping i guess #if I don't care for something i just move on #oh man though y'know what's a ship i WISH i enjoyed more: firestar x sandstorm #i think they're sweet sometimes but so much of that relationship was used up on firestar thinking about spottedleaf 🤢🤢 #so it's hard for me to look past that sometimes
