Personal thoughts: I think that this is an amazing webtoon with an excellent storyline, an interesting backstory that is linked to real life history (with a twist ofc!). The webtoon also has really epic fight scenes, detailed and creative character designs. Moreover, the overall graphics are to DIE FOR! I personally used to idolized Ruri a lot, and I thought that by drawing these pictures I’d be making her happy. I still feel gross about coming out about this and that I am the problem in this situation. I’m not the problem, the problem is that other minors are still being convinced into participating in drawing nsfw and inappropriate conversation with this adult. And to the two underaged admins who are most likely reading this, this isn’t just about you. You may believe that you can rightfully consent to what Ruri is influencing, but that does not make it right. Just because you think you can consent does not mean that every other minor on the server is able to completely comprehend this situation enough to consent . You said I should have told you two before seeking help, I was uncomfortable and I didn’t know what to do. I love this.

This is reminiscent of Moonlight Garden, but in a much darker tone.

Phantom Paradise is DARK, it’s SEXY, it’s got fantasy and magic with a dash of history and a lot of GOOD GOOD ANGST. JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF ANGST. I CAN’T STAND HEAVY ANGST.

Wow, this is so bizarre! I just finished reading Phantom Paradise last night and hadn’t even looked it up on tumblr or followed anything about it. Literally found it randomly a couple nights before. Now the author is being called out as an alleged pedo. Damn. I mean, after reading the comic, I can see the possibility of it being true with the highly sexualized young virgin boys but wow. I did not see this coming at all. Thanks for keeping us aware.

I was a fan of the story to but I got more and more uncomfortable as the story kept emphasising the main cast were children & then during the flashback arc it was super creepy with its flirty fan service scenes but then THAT scene happened where the character being abused (not going to say as readers will know & people may have a trigger to such content) & ENJOYING it. Thats where I personally had to stop reading. Its turned into nightmare fuel now as Rurisens true colors have come out.

Anon please help spread the awareness by sharing the post to get others to know about this and hopefully encourage more victims to come forward.

The Creator Of Phantom Paradise is Not A Pedophile And Here is Why

The creator of Phantom Paradise has been getting accused for being a pedophile. On June 6th of 2020 the creator, Rurisen, posted on instagram explaining the rumors about her being a pedophile. She starts by stating that she is not a pedophile and that she would never do such a terrible thing. As you get to the end of her post, she explains how haters are trying to cancel a series that supports a lot of lgbtq+ and spreads Chinese culture and appreciation.

She has been risking her physical health to post her webtoon chapters and now she’s facing an even harder challenge about being accused of being a pedophile. As of now she has no record of being a pedophile.

In Rurisen’s post she has also spoken about the person that has created the rumor. She states that the one spreading the rumor is believed to be a hater named “toxicrurisen”. Toxicrurisen has sent death threats to Rurisen, sent photoshopped screenshots to the authorities, and caused the Phantom Paradise discord server to be deleted.

It’s safe for me to say that Rurisen, the creator of Phantom Paradise, is not a pedophile and that the one spreading this rumor is toxicrurisen. Please support Rurisen during these times since this is greatly impacting her mental health as well. She is a kind and loving person therefore, I would appreciate it if you go support her on instagram!

Phantom Paradise has got to be one of the best webtoons on the platform. The art is absolutely incredible, the backgrounds are detailed and colourful, and really convey a sense of the ancient fantastical asian theme perfectly. The characters are so loveable, both heroes and villains well-written and planned, and every episode is a masterpiece. The way the art all flows together from panel to panel, the use of flowers and magic and clouds to do so, it’s so incredibly artfully done, I really love to look at it. The fight and dance scenes are excellent because they all flow together, like, I can’t imagine how tricky it must be to make everything that perfect. Also, I love the way the music is integrated, it adds so much more to the story, a nice ambience, really draws you in. The character designs have to be my favourite part, though, as a designer myself, the outfits are so colourful, and the characters themselves very unique, and so so so beautiful. I love the art style so much, it’s gorgeous. I love traditional asian style clothing as well, and especially with a magical/ fantasy twist to it, like, the designs are SO detailed it makes me squeal with joy because that’s something I as a designer aspire to do. All in all, phantom paradise is TRULY an amazing ride, such an interesting story with a clever plot and what seems like a well thought out backstory. Keep doing amazing things rurisen!!!!
