Part 1 of a fascinating series on how Russians are manipulated into supporting the catastrophic folly, greed, and cruelty of their government. It works usually by setting up a bogey man (the West, of course) who is preparing to fight Russia. 

Backed by invoking sympathy through showing the devastating effects of war, the ordinary Russian is deceived into believing that the entire West wants war against the country, and that Putin is the only man to stop this impending catastrophe. In reality, many Westerners do not hate Russia and have no interest in invading. (The same cannot be said of Putin, who annexed Crimea.)

Hillary Clinton in a new interview appeared to float a conspiracy theory that the Russians are “grooming” Hawaii congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard to be a third-party candidate in 2020, while claiming 2016 Green Party nominee Jill Stein is "also" a Russian asset.
