Season 1, Episode 15: 8 Simple Rules for Dadding My Teenage Paeden
Favorite moment: Walter!!!
General thoughts:
The Taken intro parody is great. Also, great title. I wonder how much of their audience even knows or saw the show it is parodying. I watched 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, but I think I'm with the older end of the audience.
Working things out with Erin is great. Love that she burned their books. Way to throw another wrench in the plot, Anthony.
Intro to the Deck of Many Things. First , it comes back with the Library, but won't come back full force for almost 30 episodes. This deck affects so many things later, it's a wonderful way to weave in a random element.
The whole side quest to get Paeden parents is very funny and gives us Walter! I love Walter as a character. Way to roll with what the party wants to do.
Pea-knuckle is such fun. Love the interactions between Paeden and Ron in this episode.
ive been rotating mid season one prime defenders recently so EXISTENTIAL CRISIS IN THE BLOOD RAIN!!! recently rewatched planetary problems and was like hmmmm these teenagers did not contemplate their mortality enough. anyway I think ashe had a panic attack after the battle like imagine you go out with your friends and the first two things you do are 1) go to hell and 2) stop the end of the world I think she should've contemplated her existence a little in the blood rain but also I love apocalypses causing characters to think about their death so maybe that's just me
10. I recognize canon has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it (+ what should have happened)
The disc war finale retcon is soooo dumb it's stupid. I have decided that it did not happen, cclingy won and outsmarted cdream and I will forever hold that as a triumphant moment nothing can take that away from me. also the whole let's explode the entire server welllll that did not happen either. csap shot cd with a gun and everyone lived happily ever after, if you even care
also uh. the entire mezzo" montage during the ending. going back through all sougo and tamaki's fights and them comforting each other and i am like actually crying
Quantum Leap (2022) 1x15: Ben Song for the Defense
Where to Watch: Peacock
Spoilers: A little, maybe? But honestly, I wrote down four things. I maybe just couldn't focus on the episode. I think it could have been that the whole episode basically had a monochromatic color palette, so I just tuned it out.
Reactions/Commentary Below The Cut
Oh this defendant is a great actor. (And that's all we see of him in the episode. That sucks.)
----
OH HE'S A LESBIAN THIS TIME! NICE!
----
It is interesting to see Ben and Jen working together.

Wow. This team is oddly close, aren't they? Or am I just not used to seeing friend groups like this. Like, "it made me realize how much I miss Ben" coming from someone not his fiance is ODD.
