As someone with sensitive and dry skin, this summer is only getting hotter and as someone who lives in a hot and humid country, I took my skin care to a new level for it to adapt to this environment! .ೃ࿐ Skin Type: Sensitive Skin (face) Dry and Sensitive Skin (body) LONG READ AHEAD! 🍯🩰🧸🪡
Tumblr media
୨⎯ MORNING ROUTINE ⎯୧(DURING BATH) 🛁🫧🌅 -Before anything else, I cleanse my skin with an anti bacterial soap. ↳Product that I used is a local antibacterial soap (Safe guard). You can use anything as long as it gets rid of the build up first.
-I use a body scrub only twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday) to get ride of the clogged dirt in my pores and remove the dead skin cells and product build up and overall just leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean and improve my skin texture. ↳Product that I used is Dr. Teal's Epsom Salt and Body Scrub/ Human Nature Volcanic Cooling Body Scrub
-I never forget my shower gel and I always love how affordable and gourmand this smell is! ↳Product that I used is Bath and Body Works Strawberry Pound Cake Moisturizing Body Wash
-Next up is lotion. As someone who has scars on my legs growing up from bites and battle scars (me tripping and falling and scarring my legs) it has hindered me. Hydration and proper knowledge with ingredients that can help scars fade is a must. I believe Niacinamide and Vit. C has great contribution with lightening those scars.↳Product that I used is Avon's Green Papaya and Calamansi Lotion/ Vaseline UV Extra Brightening Nourishing Niacinamide Lotion
-Can't forget about my fragrance. I alternate gourmand and flowery and powdery scents. I mostly use fragrance mists! ↳Product that I used is Fairytale by BnBW, JOY by BnBW, Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte by BnBW. I use a oil-based perfume its Cassiopeia and I love it so much! ୨⎯ MORNING ROUTINE ⎯୧(FACE SKIN CARE ROUTINE) -I usually do not wash my face with cleanser but I only wash it with water. (Ik this is controversial but this has been my routine since I was still a teenager.)
-I use an ice cube that I froze over night to depuff my eyes (eyes only!)
-I apply my moisturizer. This moisturizer really hydrated my skin especially this summer. It has a lot ingredients that can help you with hydration and at the same time making your skin youthful and glowing! It is lightweight and just perfect for this summer!↳Product that I used is Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream -I apply my sunscreen. Genuinely love this sunscreen, the only sunscreen that didn't make me breakout! Never ever forget sunscreen! ↳Product that I used is Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++
-Next is my face mist/facial spray. Gotta keep the skin hydrated and fresh! ↳Product that I used is Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray.
I always keep my morning routine simple since it's hot and humid here. I also bring with me a bottle of water and keep aware of what I eat and avoid eating foods that are oily and cause allergic reactions to my skin. ༉‧₊˚.
Tumblr media
୨⎯ EVENING ROUTINE ⎯୧ (DURING BATH) 🛁🫧🌆 -Still the same from above! I just do not overdo my scrubbing part and keep my skin hydrated! -୨⎯ EVENING ROUTINE ⎯୧(AFTER BATH/SKIN CARE FOR FACE) -Double cleansing your skin is that it removes the make up/sunscreen as well as remove those dirt that has built up through out the day. It also helps with absorption of your serums and other moisturizing products.↳Product that I used is Banila Clean it Zero cleansing Balm and Senka Perfect whip for cleansing foam
-I cannot forget my serum! Gotta love how lightweight this is and how it brightened up my dark spots! It has 5% niacinamide and love how this niacinamide worked and saved my skin.↳Product that I used is Axis Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum
-Another serum that I cannot gate keep is this local brand/product in my country! It's Cica Skin Repair Serum Soothing Gel from Ever Organics. You can find any alternative skin care serums/gels that has cica as I swear that this ingredient has helped me with my reddish spots and helped me stop my break out! I genuinely love love this product.
-For spot treatment, I use this only when I have breakouts (I rarely have breakouts nowadays, probably during period days only!) ↳Product that I used Face Republic Calming Spot Oint Gel (I only bought the sachet one)
I think it's essential for us to take care of our body, not just our skin. Our body is our temple and we must good care of it. It's never too late to start and take care of your body. Take care of yourself not to impress others but as a form of self love. I think we should remember and remind ourselves to love and appreciate ourselves. ₍ ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ₎˚୨୧
I hope this post has reached all of you needing inspos or don't know where to begin. I'm still a growing account after all! But I'd like to share with you all what has helped me. Can't wait to have moots too! 🎀🩰🪡

numbuz:n is a Korean brand that's very customer oriented. They create products based on numbers to address many types of skin issues. Tumblr media
This product contains 50 ml (1.69 oz) and is fragrance-free.
Tumblr media
This sunscreen has a very lightweight, hydrating lotion texture and is tinted green.
Tumblr media
It blends out very easily and feels like nothing.
Tumblr media
It leaves skin very smooth and not tacky or sticky as it dries down, which it does very quickly.
Tumblr media
There is no flashback, it's very invisible and you can't detect any white residue on the skin.
Tumblr media
It also wears very well and layers well, I was out in the sun for most of the day and did reapply every few hours or so.
Tumblr media
It also wears very well under makeup, no pilling up or shifting of the makeup.
Recommended use is to take an appropriate amount and apply it evenly onto the skin. It's designed for sensitive skin, non-comedogenic, oxybenzone-free, octinoxate-free and fragrance-free. After using, this sunscreen is really impressive. The packaging is great in that the applicator is very controlled and keeps it from distributing too much product. The sunscreen itself is very gentle, soothing, hydrating and lightweight. It doesn't pill or bunch up or leave any kind of white cast. It's a great moisturizer on its own but it layers over other skincare very well. The ingredients are very sensitive skin friendly and there are no irritants, or fragrances (artificial or otherwise) and it has strong and effective UV filters. It's also very safe around the eyelids and eyes, I didn't notice any irritation in that area or any kind of tingling. The protection is long-lasting and it keeps your skin even toned, even after being out in the sun for a while. Some aspects are water resistant but this product is not marketed as such so this wouldn't be safe against sweat either. I'd recommend this to anyone, especially to people who need a gentle formula.
What I like: this sunscreen is so hydrating and plays well with other products. It doesn't pill or bunch up or leave a white cast and there's no fragrance. It's got great ingredients minus any irritants and it's very hydrating and makes a great moisturizer on its own. It's also safe around the eyes and doesn't cause any irritation. What I don't like: honestly, nothing, it's a great product.
Pros:
Hydrating
Gentle
Soothing
Fragrance-free
Sensitive skin friendly
No white cast
Wears well under makeup
No irritants
Moisturizing
Cons:
None
Would I buy this?
Yes
Rating: 10/10

Note
I feel like you mentioned what sunscreen you like recently, and you are the only one whose recs I trust on this topic - thoughts?
No matter how many other SPFs I try I always come back to the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ PA++++. Truly the perfect silky, white cast free, quick dry down, semi-matte finish that also sits well under any other products. I really want to try their slightly reformulated Aqua Rich Protect Lotion which appears to be an even thinner and has a serum-like consistency.
I recently tried the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotic SPF50+ PA++++ and, I know I’m the single voice of dissent, but I didn't like it. I purchased it during a prescription serum change which made my skin very sensitive and caused peeling in places as it’s marketed for sensitive skin. But I quickly discovered if you have any texture or dry patches at all it sticks to them like glue. It also has a faint white cast, as despite my so-white-I-might-as-well-be-transparent skin I had to really rub it in which only sensitised my skin further. When I tried it again after the prescription change induced sensitisation was over, yes it has a nice finish when the skin is perfectly smooth, but the rubbing in process? Too laborious, too redness causing. I've used up the tube as body SPF, but I could only in good conscience recommend it to those with pale and dehydrated, not dry, skin.
I also tried the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++ and found it far far too dewy for my oily/combination skin, even when applying in two thinner layers. I think the issue is the texture is so watery that when applying the correct amount it becomes a lot of product to apply at once. I’m using it up as body SPF. If you've got really dry skin and favour a very dewy look, it might be the one for you. However, the stick version of this SPF is excellent. By far the best reapplication stick I have ever tried.
The Kiehls Ultra Light Daily UV Defence SPF 50 PA++++ is an old favourite, but it does have a slight white cast and is extortionately priced given the better formulas (such as the Biore) that are out there.

Sunscreen Roundup - 2022 Edition
Sunscreen Roundup – 2022 Edition
Over the past month or so, I have received a plethora of sunscreens to review, mainly from StyleKorean and Bazzaal and two from Western brands ~ Koa and La Roche-Posay.  These reviews were originally posted on Instagram, so I have just copied that format here at my blog. This makes my reviews easy to find when folks are searching for a specific sunscreen, as IG doesn’t lend well to searching. …

Thinking about how last year I went to Pride with my best friends, wearing a mid-thigh length dress w/ spaghetti straps, and I was so pale that the people at the insurance company booth came up to me to remind me to use sunscreen and ask if I needed any.
This is funny because:
They only asked me, not my other (also pale) friends, nobody else I could see, including a bunch of people with a loooot more exposed skin.
Sunscreen is legit a special interest of mine, and I had 3 bottles/tubes of SPF50+ (PA++++) with me and I was reapplying like every 45 min.
I worked in a derm office at the time (which interestingly enough was only a few blocks from where the booths were set up).
My best friend was all “don’t worry, she just gave us the lecture herself.” Which I did, only 5–10 min earlier.
Plot twist: I did get a slight sun burn though 🙃

The Proper Way to Apply Sunscreen!
It is recommended to apply sunscreen on the eyelid and medial canthal area to provide protection from ultraviolet light. The skin in these areas is very thin and delicate, and is more susceptible to damage from the sun's harmful rays.
Tumblr media
However, it is important to use a sunscreen that is specifically formulated for use around the eyes, as regular sunscreen may irritate the sensitive skin in this area. Look for a gentle, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic sunscreen that is safe for use around the eyes.
When applying sunscreen to the eyelid and medial canthal area, be gentle and avoid getting the product directly in your eyes. You can also consider wearing a hat or sunglasses with UV protection to further shield your eyes and the surrounding skin from the sun's harmful rays.
it's important to apply sunscreen liberally to your face and body at least 15 minutes prior to sun exposure, even if you're staying indoors. This is because UV rays can penetrate through windows and cause skin damage even if you're not directly in the sun.
It's also important to reapply sunscreen throughout the day, especially if you're in direct sunlight or if you've been swimming, perspiring, or toweling off. This is because sunscreen can wear off or be removed from the skin, reducing its effectiveness in protecting your skin from UV damage.
Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen is crucial to ensure that you're protected from both UVA and UVB rays, which can cause long-term damage to your skin and health. UVA rays can penetrate deeper into the skin and cause premature aging, while UVB rays are responsible for sunburns and can contribute to the development of skin cancer.
Lukewarm SPF50+ Sunscreen - This advanced, mineral-rich concoction provides the highest protection grade, PA++++ that shields you 16 times from UVA and Ultra Long UVA rays before tanning. While the SPF 50+ forms a ‘force-field’ defence against the onslaught of daily stressors, including UVB, HEVL, Blue Light and IRA rays – one of the primary contributing factors to fine lines, dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
PA++++ is a rating system used to measure the level of UVA protection provided by Lukewarm sunscreen. The more plus signs a product has, the higher the level of protection against UVA rays. A sunscreen with PA++++ provides the highest level of UVA protection, which is important for preventing premature aging and reducing the risk of skin cancer.
In addition to UVA and UVB protection, some sunscreens also provide protection against other types of light that can damage the skin, such as high-energy visible light (HEVL), blue light, and infrared-A (IRA) rays. These types of light are increasingly recognized as contributing factors to skin damage and aging, so it's a good idea to look for a sunscreen that offers protection against them.
Finally, it's worth noting that mineral sunscreens, which use ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, are generally considered safe and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin. They work by physically blocking UV rays from penetrating the skin, rather than being absorbed like chemical sunscreens.
If you’re planning a long day in the sun or at the beach, apply sunscreen as thoroughly as possible, and preferably cover yourself well! Also, wear a hat and sunglasses with UV filters for extra eyelid protection.

Review of B.LAB's Matcha Hydrating Real Sun Screen SPF50+ PA++++
B.LAB is a Korean nature-oriented brand that provides comfort to tired skin. They're also known for high-quality products made from natural ingredients. Their Matcha Hydrating Real Sun Screen is a chemical sunscreen designed to hydrate and protect skin without feeling greasy. Key ingredients include: 940ppm of green tea leaf water (toning, soothing, hydrating, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging), ice plant extract (antioxidant, moisture-rich, hydrating, strengthens skin barrier), terephthalylidene dicamphor sulfonic acid (chemical filter, anti-aging, provides effective protection from UVA rays), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (chemical filter, ideal for protection against UVA rays, extremely skin safe for all skin types) and niacinamide (whitening, lightening, anti-aging, rejuvenating, anti-wrinkle). This product retails for between $10-15 USD, you can get it here for $14.40 + shipping. Currently, you can get it on sale for $6.29 + shipping.
Ingredients
Water, Dibutyl Adipate, Methylpropanediol, Alcohol Denat., Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Polysilicone-15, Tromethamine, Polyglyceryl-3 Distearate, Caprylyl Methicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Dipropylene Glycol, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Glyceryl Stearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Polyether-1, Carbomer, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water (940ppm), Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Butylene Glycol, Menthyl Lactate, Ethyl Menthane Carboxamide, Methyl Diisopropyl Propionamide, Mesembryanthemum Crystallinum (Iceplant) Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol
Tumblr media
This sunscreen contains 50 ml (1.69 oz) and is fragrance-free.
Tumblr media
The sunblock has a very light cream texture and feels a little wet on the skin.
Tumblr media
It blends out really easily and really doesn't feel like a sunscreen.
Tumblr media
It absorbs quickly and leaves skin really hydrated and not overly tacky.
Tumblr media
There's no flashback or noticeable white cast at all under flash.
Recommended use is to apply the sunscreen and smooth it over the skin and blend and tap into the skin for better absorption. This brand is cruelty-free and uses clean ingredients, it's also fragrance-free. After using, I do personally have somewhat sensitive skin and some sunscreens really irritate my eyes, I did notice a bit of tingling due to the menthyl lactate in the ingredients but otherwise no issues around my eye area. I also have dry skin and I think this works great without any added moisturizer underneath, but it also layers well and does a good job underneath makeup, no pilling at all. There's not really any scent of ingredients that I've noticed too much and of course, it's free of artificial fragrance. The thing that really sticks out to me in Korean and Japanese sunscreens is that you can put these on your lips and not have that kind of unpleasant sunscreen taste. The ingredients are great, minus a couple of ingredients. The cooling tingle is noticeable but not terrible or overly irritating for me, but if you can't handle anything like that, then best to avoid this one. I'd recommend this to anyone with dry and dehydrated skin, people who have sensitive skin, and people who need a lightweight formula.
What I like: I'd like to make it clear, this sunscreen is probably my favorite that I've ever tried and I feel like I don't hear people talking about it. It's also very affordable and I do actually wish they'd make a version with 100 ml. I enjoy the texture and it works so well under makeup. What I don't like: the slightly cooling tingle could irritate very sensitive skin.
Pros:
Moisturizing
Hydrating
Gentle
Layers well
No pilling
Safe around the eyes
Lovely formula
Great texture
Affordable
Smooths over the skin so nicely
Fragrance-free
Cons:
Has a couple irritants
Would I buy this again?
Yes, for sure
Rating: 10/10

What is your favorite products that you recommend?
Hi. Thank you for your question! My absolute favorite moisturizer is the Etude House - Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream. I am already on my 5th bottle of this cream haha. It is really moisturizing and it makes my skin feel so soft. You can buy it on Amazon, Yesstyle, Stylevana, or the Etude House website.
I also really like the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotic SPF50+ PA++++ sunscreen. I bought it on Stylevana after seeing so many great reviews. I talk about it in my sunscreen post. It is my new favorite sunscreen.
Let me know if you check out these products and feel free to reach out again if you have any other questions. Hope this helps!
