Quote
Pier Paolo Pasolini, in Pétrole, Note 126 - Manifestation fasciste (suite) ¦Le nouveau centre¦, p.529-530, éd. Gallimard/NRF, trad. René de Ceccatty.

Altamura (Bari, Puglia). Claustro Angelo Tricarico. Access to the right of the Course from via Santa Lucia. Angelo Tricarico was a physician and professor of medicine at the University of Altamura. He was one of the revolutionaries of 1799, killed by Sanfedists. The city had the feeling of calling many claustrum to Republican patriots in 1799. I quote: Oronzo and Vito Salvatore (priest that damn cardinal Ruffo), Francesco Sallicano, Vitantonio Procida, Domenico Porsia (buried in the Cathedral), Lorenzo Antodaro, Francesco Armiento, Giuseppe Cardano, Giuseppe De Nora, De Mari brothers, De Luzio brothers, Michele Chierico, Vincenzo and Paolo Castelli. #history #travel #traveling #vacation #visiting #instatravel #instago #instagood #holiday #travelling #tourism #instatraveling #igtravel #trip #mytravelgram #travelgram #massimopistis #sovVERSIvi #ilmiolibro #altamura #igersaltamura #claustro #stories #tricarico #puglia #tourist #travelingram #apulian #igerspuglia #fiorile

Altamura (Bari, Puglia). Course Federico II of Swabia. Crossing the entire historic center from Bari Gate to Matera Gate, it is a great architectural work itself. To the right and to the left of the course is the ancient village, the popular dwellings are confused with large palaces... and here are the clausters, the ancient lanes that the city, grateful, devoted to the revolutionaries fallen under the Sanfedists in 1799. Altamura is also an example for this! #history #travel #traveling #vacation #visiting #instatravel #instago #instagood #holiday #travelling #tourism #instatraveling #igtravel #claustro #mytravelgram #travelgram #massimopistis #sovVERSIvi #ilmiolibro #altamura #igersaltamura #avenue #stories #basilic #puglia #tourist #travelingram #apulian #igerspuglia #federicosecondo

Altamura (Bari, Puglia). Monument to the people and revolutionaries of Altamura, victims of the Sanfedists reactionary massacre of 10 May 1799 and subsequent days. The monument was erected in the centenary of the massacre on May 10, 1899, realized by sculptor Arnaldo Zocchi, and is strongly identitary. The woman with the towered helmet represents the city of Altamura, whose memory of the massacre is the foundation of belonging to it. In 1799, in the wake of the birth of the Revolutionary Republics, particularly the Parthenopean, the Altamuran Republic was born on the principles of freedom, equality and fraternity, propagated by the French Revolution. At the beginning of May 1799 the city was besieged by the Sanfedists monarchists, while Altamura organized the resistance in the name of Sant'Irene and the Madonna del Rosario. Reduced the city to starvation, on May 10, Cardinal Ruffo's troops entered the city, commencing the massacre 14 days. Altamura's resistance has earned him the title of Lioness. #revolution #history #altamura #1799 #stories #travel #traveling #vacation #visiting #instatravel #instago #instagood #trip #holiday #puglia #travelling #tourism #tourist #instatraveling #mytravelgram #travelgram #travelingram #igtravel #igerspuglia #massimopistis #sovVERSIvi #ilmiolibro #santorini #lioness #libertefraterniteegalite
