Okay so I got curious about the Yowie Yahoo from Scooby-Doo Legend of the Vampire, cause I saw a reference to a Yowie in an article on Australian folklore. And it turns out the two entities are only the same in name and location!!
This is part of the wikipedia article for the Yowie
Tumblr media
This is the Yowie Yahoo in Scooby-Doo Legend of the Vampire
Tumblr media
As you can see, they took the name of a creature from Aboriginal myth, and said no, we're gonna do a vampire. Even the Yahoo part of Yowie Yahoo is another name for this same creature apparently!! (As well as a term for the bigfoot in the US in some areas)
This is especially strange to me, cause the literal Next Film in the DTV franchise is Monster of Mexico, which took the chupacabra, a creature often described as being like a lizard or dog and Drinking Blood (a known vampire trait) and turned it into

A bigfoot like creature!! They flipped em!!

So yesterday I rewatched "The Witches Ghost" and shortly then after I decided to watch "Legend of the Vampire" (cause why not?) and I noticed...something... regarding "the Hex Girls" specifically "Luna"
Now...here she is in The Witches Ghost in 1999...
Tumblr media
And before I go any further, I'd like to remind you that this is also what she looked like in the Mystery Inc shows...
Tumblr media
Exhibit A ⤴️
Tumblr media
And here we have Exhibit B ⤴️
And now folks, I would like to show you the reason why we are here, without any further adieu! May I present to you! Luna! In Scooby Doo and the Legend of the Vampire in 2003...
Tumblr media
I've never really seen anyone acknowledge this before, but seriously though, what was going on in 2003? WAS there a reason for this? I'm genuinely curious, I don't expect this post to get much attention but I just wanted to put this out out there just in case...

We gotta accept the Scooby Doo movies went downhill after Cyberchase cause some 'genius' really went and said let's NOT have them face off against the supernatural anymore.
So in my Monster Mysteries reboot everything after cyber chase is being 'rewritten' by me.
Legend of the Vampire: Keep Hex Girls and Vampires just let them be actual vampires Daphne (professionally trained vampire slayer) fights. Hell it could be her first vampire kill as a slayer.
Monster of Mexico: I don't remember much of this but I am not a fan of the Chupacabra design and completely redid it based off its various descriptions online. And also that little Chihuahua is cute but she needs to Back Off.
The Loch Ness Monster: Completely new plot, humans steal Nessie's baby and while Fred, Velma, and Daphne try to solve this mystery and not get eaten, Scooby and Shaggy befriend Nessie Jr.

I know Daphne’s performance with the hex girls was incredible, but Velma has had some stage time too.
