Three things about myself

Tagged by the sweet @characterfromthebook ;) 

1. My 2020 resolution was to finally dive into a new hobby that was on my mind for a while now: ship modeling! I’m a HUGE fan of pirates – I love glorified pirates from fiction as much as real life pirates, I have very interesting books about their day to day life, or about female pirates, or asian and indian pirates – and from there, I developped a real interest for ancient ships. I soon found myself fascinated by models but, for years, I was not in a good place and it took me 4 or 5 years to actually trust myself enough to engage in such a hobby. I’m currently building a typical 1600′s galion made of plastic and I’m enjoying every hour. And since I’m a big nerd, I’m doing so while listening a France Culture’s show about pirates OR by listening sea shanties with a thunder/rainy soundscape. Living my best life so far ahah.

2. I have one tattoo (for now), I had it made in Seoul, at the end of my academic year there. It engraves that very memorable time in my skin, and a bit more. And that’s how I discovered something very peculiar (but shared by other people too, so I feel less like an alien): I felt the area on my skin for my tattoo tingle until it was finally covered with ink.  Nowadays, it’s my fingers that tingle. But I don’t know what I want on those fingers. Life is hard x).

3. (what else, my life isn’t that interesting Dx) I’m not materialistic in essence. However, I hoard and amass things like a dragon. It’s a genuine ability to accumulate so much in such a short time. Regularly, I try to reduce my possessions, but it’s crazy hard.  Books, games, DVDs, CDs, tapes, VHS (yes), old toys, old plushies, ornaments, souvenirs, fabric, boxes and boxes of fabric (that one little piece bought in Italy that I’ll probably never use for anything but Lord is it pretty), buttons, ribbons, sewing tools, papers, OH so many papers, OH SO MUCH STATIONERY, I had to get a second suitcase to get all of it back from Seoul, because that country is EVIL and produces the prettiest and most useless and cutest stationery EVER, stamps, old diaries, old stories, posters, art prints from con, buttons, keychains, bookmarks, business cards, coins from other countries, batteries new and used (do I know which is which? yes, most of the time), art supplies, beauty products, the list goes on and on... Weirdly enough, this list doesn’t include photographs or clothes.

Showing off my snow leopard collection for @superheroresin , aka @resinonao3 on Tumblr. My collection started in the 1980s, with Poufou (center, and named by my sister), a Russ plushie who slept with me and travelled the world with me. It’ll be 20 years in February since we went to the Nagano Olympics together! Poufou and his faithful sidekick Doodah (the little golden guy next to Poufou) even appeared in fan fiction in the ‘80s. The big guy next to Doodah is another early adoptee from Wild Republic. Everything else is from the Snow Leopard Trust - http://www.snowleopard.org. the art card is by @shop5s , and the charm is by @deandrawsart , both courtesy of resin.
