So I started reading The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter/Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai (BL isekai story)

And literally Aresh is the most pathetic poor man in this entire story. Like the stress levels Kondou gives him. They're literally unstoppable force meets immovable object

But humor aside I love how the story portrays the horrible mindset and work culture in japan and all around the world honestly. To think you have to work yourself to death to feel like you have a purpose to live is horrible and Aresh feeling straight up disturbed and disgusted with Kondou's thoughts influenced by his experiences of being a working adult in a capitalistic world was exactly how one should react.

And also it shows deep roted classism in a monarchy government with how higher ups have much more freedom and due to it most times ignore or pass on work and problems to subordinates and become unaware of the state of things due to their privileges.

Literally this manga is so great and if possible I would love to read the novel too!

This is the face of a man who has never felt the touch of a lover, and has just been kissed within an inch of his life for the first time. But the thing that gets me: the first time we see him without glasses. The first time he is seen for who he is, outside of his identity as a paper-pusher. The pure vulnerability of this moment.

6. the one where THIS MAN NEEDS HELP

THEY LITERALLY JUST DID THE NASTY--THIS MAN JUST LOST HIS VIRGINITY AND HE'S LIKE "Oh, thanks, gotta go to work." And it's so funny. In the panels before this he was making Seiichirou breakfast without a shirt on and this man just steamrolls past all of that and goes to work. I can't. I love it. Can't wait for vol 2!

Ahahahahhahahahahah Woo Jin-Cheol your avarage salary man slave of capitalism suddenly gets isekai by helping out a small girl [Juhee] from getting sucked in through a magic circle. Tragically they both fall into it and are briefly told a story of needing the girl before they drag her away to make her fulfill her new priestly duties.

On the other hand Jin-Cheol has to adapt here and, since he was an accidnetal kidnap, he was told that he will be cared for in this world. So is there anything he wants?

"A job."

He is placed on the accounting department first thing in the morning, and as he is about to start his work he gets to meet the favorable Duke of the Eastern Isles, Sung Jin-Woo, a man incredibly adept at magic and a gifted swordsman. And soon maybe something else might start~~

Rant ideas ahead:

Yeah absolutely taking inspiration from isekai no sata wa shachiku shidai (Isekai Office Worker,The Affairs of the Other World Depend on the Corporate Slave,The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter,This World's Affairs Are up to the Corporate Slave,异世界的安泰全看社畜,異世界の沙汰は社畜次第)

But other rants here obviously to change the world a little.

First is Juhee actually knows the series of events and how it will all play out, because they have, in fact, been transported to an obscure otome that she played when she was young.

Jinwoo is going to become the final boss that she will have to kill and defeat, or she will have to romance and end in a dark path.

While jinchul and jinwoo are having their lovey dovey moments by jinwoo taking care of his deteriorated health, juhee is out trying to survive getting away from the prince Kang Tae shik because he ends up being a psychopath later on and suddenly bumps into someone else—

Evil princess Cha Hae-In!!!

Who is... protecting her ??

(Cue Hae-In being an awkward lesbian around Juhee because she never was a normal girl all her life, and Juhee making her feel like one for the first time.)

Both of them gained very powerful partners good for them :D

This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. It has all the things I love: an introspective story and the first stirrings of a found-family, a play on established genre themes and seemingly opposite people falling in love, and people forcibly taking care of an extremely competent man with only one braincell.

Seiichirou is such an interesting character because he's so underestimated. He's dedicated to work to the point that it's combined with his identity. Literally having sex and kissing another man all the time as a medical procedure is forcing him to confront life outside of work, but the idiot is clearly struggling. Watching him talk himself out of any sort of romantic feeling by saying "oh we're in a different world, things are probably different here" without any sort of examination of that presumption is hilarious.

Meanwhile, Captain Aresh is having Feelings™ watching this man overwork himself. First of all it is literally my favorite thing in the world when the grumpy one falls first. His heart is beating fast and he's like what?! This guy?! But then is creating meal and break schedules for this frail little man.

The play on familiar genre tropes also just scratches an itch deep in my brain. Seiichirou is not the Chosen One, he's just some rando who got caught up in this mess and is trying to live his life. Interestingly enough there is a Chosen One, a teenage girl, ,who fits the isekai trope, we just don't really pay much attention to her. But the way that Aresh is clearly physically superior: Captain of the Guard, and a magic-user to boot, when Seiichirou questions his knowledge of his own department, it leads to character growth for Aresh, who starts taking the paperwork aspect of his job seriously. The entire genre is generally framed around a completely regular person from our world getting transported to a magical world who has immense powers in this new world. But Seiichirou is just a regular guy in both worlds, his only "superpower" is his terrifying work-ethic, and yet, he is still the one teaching our otherworlders things about themselves. Also I just really love all of the people around him bullying him to be healthier.
