He does kiss Eleanor more passionate that Priyanka!!!! Just a notice!
Because the movie, Love Again, he made with Priyanka was a light romantic comedy. The series The Couple Next Door involves two couples becoming involved with each other's partners, that's sexy, passionate, "playing with fire" type of stuff, which would necessitate more passionate kisses and love scenes.
There are such things as SCRIPTS that literally TELL the actors what to do in a scene, aside from the dialogue they say. And there are these people called DIRECTORS who literally tell the actors what do to and how to do it.
In Love Again, IF Sam started to get too passionate, maybe some tongue or too strong an embrace, the director would have said "easy, tiger, less tongue, more PG type stuff." And if in The Couple Next Door, Sam wasn't giving enough passion, the director would have said "Sam, act like you're lusting after your neighbor's wife, forbidden fruit, give it all you got."
Now, aside from the very controlled and directed environment of a movie or TV set, is there such a thing as natural chemistry between two actors? Of course. But it's not called ACTING for nothing. A good actor will SHOW whatever emotion the SCRIPT and the DIRECTOR dictate, no matter what they feel about their costar. For those of you old enough to remember the series Moonlighting, the chemistry between costars Cybill Sheperd and Bruce Willis was sizzling, but in real life, they didn't get along. Again, it's called ACTING.

Just working on some research notes for a future project. These are all canon occurrences, I don't make the rules.
