ARMIN

-armin would be from islington or finchley maybe even south, but I don’t see him living in like bougie areas such as kensington or chelsea or like richmond

- him and eren went to the same primary and secondary together

-armin was literally his get out of jail free card because of his stellar reputation in academics

-he always gets free stuff from the corner shop or the chicken and chip shop

-doesn’t own a car, he either bikes or takes the tube because he cares about the environment and doesn’t want to add onto the extra pollution in london

-his dress sense is very casual like a t shirt, a pair of loose fitted trousers and some trainers but when he cant be bothered he’ll wear a tech fleece

-he has a very good sense of direction, like he knows the fastest routes for anything, like when eren and connie dragged him to carni (if you went this year im saur jealous 😩 but anyways) and it was time to get home armin found a quicker route that got them back pretty fast

-knows all the best secret spots in london for anything! which makes hanging out with him more fun because you experience a new part of london when you’re together

-he isnt a fan of eren’s scamming ways but when eren asks for help he always answers as long as he’s not a part of it

-london men i feel like are terrible with their feelings but armin is the exception, he would be very open with you about his feelings and such

-reads so much, you’ll catch him at hyde park or greenwich park reading till the sun sets

-he smokes cigarettes but he’s trying to cut it out for you

-his playlist would be very diverse since he’s been brought up in a multicultural area, like it would go from bashment, to rnb, drill to pop

-unlike his unserious counterparts *cough cough* eren and connie, he’s very loyal!

-he speaks twi so well that people forget he was brought up in the uk

-he would be from peckham or lewisham for suree, he’s deffo been dragged around by his mum round rye lane market on a saturday morning carrying that trolley with him

-he goes to a pentecostal church, he’s always leading youth service and helping out at church events.

-the aunties love him for this because he’s the perfect son that they don’t have and they just love him in general

-ony can cook and im being for real, so you guys never eat out unless ony wants to show you to a new niche restaurant somewhere

-he has snap but doesn’t have a bitmoji because he thinks it’s immature 😕 but eventually he caves and makes one because you ask him too

-hes always promoting his boys stuff whether that be music,

-he deffo went to an all boys secondary and then he went to a mixed sixth form after, he gives me those vibes

-he used to go to the library to link girls after school 😭 he had a big playboy phase but hes calmed down

-he used to be one of those people at stratford westfield trying to sell you magazines before you enter

-hes not stingy with his money, hes always spoiling the people he loves

-he has a bunch of caps and grills that he likes to rotate out weekly, he has great style

-he works in corporate london so its rare that you dont see him outside of a suit and tie but he always makes time for you

-ony is always holding your bag for dear life when you go to bait areas like oxford street or westfields or like the tourist spots because people be getting their shit stolen loool

-he loves late night tesco trips anything that he can do at night i.e late night walks, drives etc

-bossman is always giving him discounts on stuff because ony is loyal customer.

-look at that man and tell me he wouldnt be from essex tell me!! like thats pure dagenham material right there

-if you search up a typical person from essex, he would come up

-he probably owns those skintight chinos with those ugly polos with the church shoes

-he tries to downplay his accent a bit since sometimes its hard to understand him but when hes upset his accent comes through in full force

-always at spoons or at the club till early hours

-reiner gives me bricklayer vibes so thats what im gonna roll with

-when he comes home from work in summer hes like hot and sweaty but it makes his biceps glow so its kinda sexy idk

-has a bunch of tattoos, most of them are birthdays of family members and a picture of his grandma who passed away

-has a british bulldog called belle, the dog is fucking scary but reiner thinks the world of her and thinks she can do no wrong

-listens to mainly dnb, garage, techno

-downs pints at the pub like it’s nothing, he has a high alcohol tolerance

-proper geezer that’s all i have to say tbh!

"please tell me you didn't rip a stop sign out of the ground for this," you muttered to yourself.

william looked at you, back at the stop sign, then back at you, before shrugging. "okay, i won't tell you."

"william!" your eyes widened.

he laughed, his eyes crinkling as he shook his head. "have you seen a stop sign this huge out on the streets?"

he had a point. the stop sign was huge - looking more like a construction sign. and it was much larger than the ones out on the streets.

"did you buy that?" you asked this time. "where would you even find one of those?"

"i got it from the blue banana in kensington market," he answered. "you can get anything there."

it was true. there were so many things in that store, you had no doubt you could get a giant stop sign from there.

"are you done asking questions about my stop sign?" he asked. "i'd like to beat you at this race, now."

"it's not a race," you reminded him. "if it was, i'd beat you. i've got an actual sled, while you're using a stop sign."

"if you're so sure, let's make it a race," he smirked.

"absolutely not," you shook your head. "you're way too competitive."

despite being pretty laid back about most things, your boyfriend was still one of the most competitive people you knew. not only was he a hockey player, but he grew up with a lot of siblings - the combination making him a little more competitive than most.

"sure, sure," he nodded. "whatever you say."

you rolled your eyes, laughing as you set up your sled.

it'd snowed the night before, making the conditions perfect to go sledding. there was a high school with a large hill near your house, the place you grew up. being able to bring your boyfriend here was something you'd always hoped you'd be able to do.

there were no kids at the moment, which made sense considering it was early as hell. willy was a morning person, and you wanted to be the first to go down the hill.

"ready?" you asked him, adjusting your sled at the top of the hill.

"ready," he agreed.

"and.... go!"

the two of you kicked off your respective sleds (well, stop sign in william's case), rushing down the hill.

you laughed loudly as snow got caught in the front of william's stop sign halfway down, causing him to roll down the rest of the way.

unfortunately, you lost your balance because of how hard you were laughing, your sled turning sideways and throwing you off.

you and william looked at each other, laying near the bottom of the hill, and then your sleds, discarded somewhere above you. you giggled at the turn of events.

william laughed a little, making his way over and putting his hand out to help you up. you allowed him to help you up, keeping a snowball behind you. you smiled mischievously once you were on your feet, shoving the snowball in your boyfriend's face.

willy made a sound of disbelief, blinking rapidly as you ran away giggling.

"oh, it's on," he muttered, wiping the snow from his lashes.

you should've been nervous, especially considering his competitive streak. but at the moment, the only thing you could think of, was how happy you were to be doing this with him.

12/11/2017: Andrew Morton announces new biography of Meghan. Rebecca English writes about Meghan's yoga influencing. Meghan's "Sexy Santa" costume from Deal or No Deal is republished. Kensington Palace announces William and Kate's trip to Sweden and Norway, and The Times debunks The Crown.

12/12/2017: Harry and his friends kill 15 boars during German hunting trip (Meghan's not happy). Harry and Meghan take credit for William and Kate showing a little PDA on an engagement, while Meghan merches her parka. Later, William and Harry attend the Star Wars premiere.

12/13/2017: Kensingon Palace officially confirms Meghan is spending Christmas with the royals. Meghan is revealed as Google's most-searched celebrity of 2017. Meghan merches her handbags, especially Strathberry's, and modernizes the monarchy.

A UK survey finds that a majority of their respondents are unhappy with Harry's engagement:

67% of women surveyed are devastated by the engagement announcement.

20% of overall respondents prefer Harry to be single.

57% of respondents are against Harry marrying Meghan.

And Meghan leaks that Kate has taken her under her wing to protect her from negative parts of royal life. She tells The Express that "Harry is like a brother to Kate and she has never seen him so happy."

12/14/2017: Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, announces that he expects to preside over the royal wedding. In the morning, the royals attend a service for Grenfell Tower at St. Paul's Cathedral (Meghan isn't allowed) and they gather again in the afternoon for The Queen's annual Windsor Christmas luncheon at Buckingham Palace (Meghan is invited). In the evening, the Kensington Palace Christmas party is held at a nearby restaurant that Harry and Meghan may or may not have attended (it's claimed they left early) while William and Kate are papped leaving.

Meghan merches Strathberry again and she is named the #4 Fashion Influencer of the Year, besting Kate who comes in at #5. (I really doubt Kate cares about this.)

12/15/2017: Kensington Palace announces the wedding date. Palace gift shops begin selling engagement memorabilia. Harry visits Sandhurst Academy and awards Cadet of the Year. Idris Elba shows support for Meghan while Meghan merches tea tree oil.

12/16/2017: Meghan teases a Canada tour post-wedding again.

12/17/2017:

The Daily Mail reminds us that Meghan is attending royal Christmas.

Harry announces that he has interviewed Barack Obama for BBC Radio 4 Today, but the interview won't air until the end of the month.

Meghan used to work at a yogurt store in LA as a teenager and everyone just loved her.

William's diary clash: Harry scheduled his wedding on the same day as the FA Cup Final, which William usually attends.

To prep The Queen and Prince Philip for spending Christmas with Meghan, Harry says he has shown them clips of Meghan in Suits.

Windsor hotels begin to profit off the wedding by marketing Meghan and Harry.

12/18/2017: The Cambridges release their Christmas card photo and Kensington Palace announces that Charlotte will begin nursery school in the new year. Meghan is voted one of the UK's ideal Christmas dinner guests and she leaks that The Queen likes her better than Kate but Buckingham Palace hits back with a denial.

12/19/2017: William and Kate attend the Royal Variety Performance. Meghan tries to ride their coattails by hinting she and Harry may be their guests and Harry is appointed Captain General Royal Marines, succeeding Philip.

Meghan also merches the Soho House restaurant she and Harry had their first date.

12/29/2017: The royal family's engagement count for the year is released and Harry worked more than William and Kate. The Markles begin popping off about Harry's "we're the family she never had" comment.

A Clockwork Orange (1971, dir. Stanley Kubrick) had Milena Canonero as costume designer in her first gig; the movie also was very low-budget (almost all of it was shot on location rather than in sets), so most of the costumes are off-the rack except for some of Alex's fantasy sequences where I'm sure it's reused period stock.

Canonero's Droog costumes however remains one of the most iconic costume designs in film history; the combination of underclothes, suspenders, old-fashioned hats and cricket codpieces. The asymmetrical makeup calls to mind tribal warriors but also adds a little androgyny (despite them all being vicious misogynists). The final touch is gore prosthetic decorations, such as the eyeballs on Alex's cuffs, that feel like a forerunner to punk fashion. This kind of DIY costume design was also done to excellent effect by Bobbie Mannix on The Warriors and Norma Moriceau on Mad Max 2.

There's some other nasty 'Droog' gangs too; one of the torture sequences (more harrowing cos Kubrick was being a sociopath again and had Malcolm McDowell's eyes being scratched for real) has some other Droogs in different hats, whilst Alex's nemesis 'Billyboy' (played by Richard Connaught) wears a very different kind of Droog uniform; consisting of leather overalls, military wear (especially WWII German military), and clashing colourful frilly shirts.

McDowell also gets to wear a fantastic purple suede and snakeskin jacket - prop sites say it was designed by Canonero, but the first comment on this Propstoreauction youtube video says something different 'I actually sold this coat to Malcolm around september 1970 in Kensington market in London , it is a plum suede and python trim coat designed and made by a young Yugoslavian guy and bought from our stock. the film’s costume designer had no imput. Malcolm chose it. Priced at £120 in 1970, it was the most expensive item in the market'. Interesting - given it only appears in one brief scene, it would make sense that it was bought. He also gets to wear a red and white nightgown that presumably was also off the rack.

As for the rest of the film's outfits? They all scream '1971' and were presumably off the rack. though almost all the women have had their hair dyed in garish colours. I love the red outfits worn by Sheila Raynor as Alex's mother, as well as the vinyl-lined red jumper worn by the unnamed lodger. Also the multicoloured dress worn by the psychiatrist, and the red jumpsuit worn by one of Alex's victims. Also the Milk Bar security who wear spandex unitards with studded belts, for some reason?

There's a couple of fantasy sequences that Alex indulges in, that I'm mostly including so that someone can hopefully indentify which film their costumes are from - he briefly has a fantasy of being a Roman soldier torturing Jesus, as well as being an ancient noble. Then he has one as a soldier in Old Testament battles; again, I highly doubt these were made for the film given the very low budget and the briefness of these fantasy sequences (clips from other movies were used in these fantasy sequences after all), but I did notice the helmets worn by his warriors were familiar - because they had been reused by costume designer James Acheson in the Doctor Who serial 'The Mutants' a year later!

The Princess of Wales has a new private secretary. According to Roya Nikkhah, Catherine has hired public relations specialist Alison Corfield, who used to work for Jamie Oliver.

Alison Corfield, who masterminded Jamie Oliver’s childhood obesity and free school meals campaigns, will join the palace as Kate’s right-hand woman and most senior aide this month.

Described as “loud” and “persuasive” by those who know her, Corfield’s appointment has been hailed by royal insiders as a “breath of fresh air”. It is understood the princess actively sought out a “different kind of courtier” as she steps up her public work.

Corfield will replace Hannah Cockburn-Logie, a diplomat with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, who left the role last autumn after 2½ years in post.

Known as “Al” to her friends, Corfield, 51, a mother of three and former air stewardess, worked as Oliver’s head of campaigns from 2015 to 2020. She led the marketing strategy for his drive to halve childhood obesity by 2030, improve food education in schools and create “a generational shift in young people’s health”.

She has continued to work with Oliver on his free school meals campaign, and has also advised the Irish television chef Clodagh McKenna.

The prince and princess’s aides have traditionally been recruited from government departments and the civil service, including William’s last private secretary, Sir Simon Case, who was David Cameron’s principal private secretary in Downing Street and is now the cabinet secretary. William’s current private secretary, Jean-Christophe Gray, is described by Whitehall sources as “the model of a mandarin”, and previously worked with several former chancellors including Rishi Sunak, George Osborne and Gordon Brown.

A royal source said: “Alison is an unusual fit. She is a bit out there for Kensington Palace, but there is a move to recruit more modernisers and people with private sector experience, not just civil servants. She will run rings around the courtiers and shake things up a bit.”

A royal source who knows Corfield, said: “She will be a massive breath of fresh air at Kensington Palace. She is loud, tons of fun and full of energy and enthusiasm.”

Corfield has also worked with the Labour MP Stella Creasy on her recent MotheRED campaign to recruit more mothers as Labour politicians.

Corfield will take on the role as the princess’s private secretary as Kate, 41, significantly steps up her public profile and work. Last week, she launched a new long-term campaign, Shaping Us, to raise public awareness on the importance of early childhood development.

Beatrice Forshall was born in France; she spent her early years there and in Catalonia. As a child she raised money for wildlife conservation by making papier-mâché animals, which she sold in local markets. As the elephants, the rhinos, the butterflies and birds, which are a part of so many children’s imaginations, and many others of which we know so little vanish, so Beatrice wished to record them.

She studied illustration at Falmouth College of Art, specialising in dry-point engraving in the last year of her degree. She has since exhibited regularly throughout the UK. From 2017 to 2019 Beatrice was artist-in-residence with the Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), a collaboration between researchers, policymakers and practitioners from the University of Cambridge and leading biodiversity conservation organisations.

Christine was born in Leeds circa 1950 and she was student from the Maria Assumpta Teacher Training College, in Kensington (London) (like Veronica Deacon)

In 1968 Chrissie’s flatmate, Josephine “Jo” Morris, was dating medical student Roger Taylor, who played drums in a band called “Smile” and run a stall in Kensington market selling second hand clothes with a friend who called himself Freddie Mercury. When Jo took Chrissie along to one of “Smile”’s gigs at Imperial College she was introduced to Roger’s friend and bandmate Brian May, who played the guitar.

Theirs became a stable relationship and they soon moved in together in a small apartment with a cat, Squeaky. Bran recalled in 2010: "It was probably the happiest time of my life. I was living with my future wife in a bedsit about the size of this table. We lived on cod in a bag, we had one gas ring, we had no problems in life." Brian was busy with the band, sometimes with Chrissie and sometimes without, but Brian's strict father loomed on them: “When Queen was taking off, we didn’t speak (Brian and Harold) for nearly two years. He also hated the fact that I was living with a woman, who turned out to be my first wife, Chrissie. He thought it was immoral, I couldn’t understand it.” The second disapproved thing was the choice of music instead of astronomy. And so, after around seven years of relationship, Brian and Chrissie got married to please Harold May, soon welcoming baby Jimmy in 1978.

Like with Dominique, we have plenty of photos of Brian and Chrissie on tour and at parties. She followed him pretty often, even with children, and they seemed inseparable whenever she was there. Chrissie is much shorter than Brian, with full curves and very long straight hair. Despite touring with Queen, though, she's a very private person, we don't know much about her personality and Brian tried to protect his family's privacy as much as possible.

However, the straining routine began causing strains in their marriage as well. Years later, Brian recalled: "It’s very hard to adapt back to normal life. I was married and I had kids and the marriage survived the whole touring life really well. It was only when I stopped touring that things fell apart, because we couldn’t adapt to living ‘a normal life’."

In 1986 Brian fell in love with actress Anita Dobson, and not even the birth of his and Chrissie's last child Emily in 1987 could save the marriage. They divorced in 1988 and Chrissie has kept a retired, very private life since then.

the energy in toronto was different than anywhere else. it was why peach loved the city.

she grinned to herself as they made their way through the downtown traffic. while almost everyone hated toronto traffic, it wouldn’t ruin her good mood. it was the day before opening night for the toronto maple leafs, and peach was back in the city she practically grew up in. it was going to be a good day, she could tell.

william nylander parked his car outside his house, ushering peach and the hughes inside.

just a few years ago, willy had been living with peach and the hughes in their toronto home, and now peach was here with her younger brothers to spend the week with him.

“oh! that’s so cool!” jack grinned, immediately dropping his bag on the floor and going to a framed and signed jersey on the wall.

peach rolled her eyes, clearing her throat and motioning to jack’s duffel bag that he threw on the floor.

“oh yeah,” jack muttered, coming back and shouldering his duffel bag.

peach laughed, flicking her younger brother lightly, before addressing willy. “where do you want us to put our bags?”

“just right here,” willy led them to the back, where he had two spare rooms available. 

peach took the smaller one, while her brothers shared the other room. peach spent the first day back in toronto exploring kensington market with her brothers. she missed that one burger restaurant more than she’d like to admit.

before any of the hughes had realized it, they were gearing up for the toronto maple leafs first game of the season, against the ottawa senators. peach had her ‘nylander’ jersey on, seats near the glass, and was impatiently waiting for puck drop.

the game was intense — the battle of ontario always was. with the leafs new rookie, auston matthews, scoring all four goals for the team, the leafs had managed to push the game to overtime.

“i hate overtime,” quinn muttered from next to luke.

peach was too busy trying not to tear her hair out to answer.

“matthews is scoring the game winner,” jack grinned from next to her, bouncing in his seat. “i’m calling it from now.”

“he already has four goals,” luke said from between quinn and peach. “you think he’s gonna score the ot goal also?”

“it’s auston matthews!” jack emphasized. “if anyone will score the fifth and game winning goal, it’s him.”

“careful, jack,” peach joked. “your man-crush is showing.”

quinn and luke laughed, while jack merely rolled his eyes. 

it was true. jack had gone to the leafs store and bought an overpriced auston matthews jersey before the game because they were all sold out online. he had this idea that matthews was going to be the saviour of the franchise.

peach had to admit that he was probably the leafs’ best chance in a really long time.

the puck dropped for ot, play continuing on both sides. it didn’t last very long, considering the senators scored less than forty seconds into the first overtime.

there was a chorus of groans from the fans in the arena as the goal horn sounded. 

the game was fun to watch, and the leafs played good, but ottawa just got a good goal in at the end. 

“i hate this team,” jack muttered, shaking his head to himself.

“no you don’t,” quinn rolled his eyes, the four siblings waiting for the crowds to empty a bit before heading to the tunnel.

willy trudged out a few minutes later, managing a smile at the sight of the four hughes kids. peach hugged willy quickly, the rest of the boys exchanging fist bumps as they began talking hockey. peach rolled her eyes at the boys, leaning against the wall as she waited for them to finish so they could go get some ice cream. peach loved hockey, but she wasn’t like her brothers where she needed to talk about it twenty-four/seven.

it’s jack’s unusual silence that drew peach’s attention back to the boys’ conversation.

luke and quinn were talking to willy about a play in the third period, one that led to ottawa’s goal. surprisingly, jack remained silent during this, breathing funny as he tried to stay calm.

“what’s wrong?” peach nudged jack’s foot.

jack motioned towards his right, where two leafs players were talking to each other. peach narrowed her eyes, recognizing auston matthews and frederick anderson, the goalie, deep in conversation. 

“quit fangirling,” peach tried not to laugh as jack ducked his head when his favourite rookie glanced over.

willy whistled towards freddie and auston, smiling as they came over. 

“guys, this is auston and freddie,” he motioned towards them. “these are the hughes kids. they were my billet family when i first came to toronto.”

peach put a hand on jack’s shoulder to keep him from bouncing, smiling at the two leafs players.

“you guys played a good game,” peach said to the two, hoping to raise their spirits somewhat.

being part of a family of athletes, peach knew it was hard to console yourself after an overtime loss. she appreciated words of comfort from her friends after those games, and even if she wasn’t ‘friends’ with these two players, she hoped they could still find some comfort in her words.

auston smiled back quickly, “thanks.”

peach noticed jack’s breathing beginning to go funny again, and she patted him as inconspicuously as she could on his back, reminding him to be normal.

“can i get your autograph?” jack asked auston.

“uh… yeah, sure,” auston blinked, taking the marker from jack and signing his jersey.

he was still new to toronto, and not at all used to giving autographs and taking selfies with fans.

jack grinned happily, and peach already knew he was planning on framing the jersey somewhere back home.

auston walked away as the hughes siblings and willy left as well, trying to get the pretty one and her smile out of his head.

ooh yes hi <3 i recommend checking out the art gallery and the royal ontario museum when you're here. kensington market is fun to explore and there's a lot of good restaurants in the area. chinatown is also right beside the market. there's always a thrift popup happening in ossington/queen west on the weekends and it's a rly nice area to walk around in general. high park is a little dreary this time of the year but they have a cute little zoo you can visit and then you can head out towards roncesvalles for food afterwards

Last December, we learned that the Princess of Wales’s private secretary had “quit” months beforehand. That private secretary was Hannah Cockburn-Logie, and she was with Kate starting in May 2020. She oversaw a lot of Kate’s Early Years busy-work. Kate then went without a private secretary for months, because (big surprise) she does f–k all and her staffers get unbelievably bored. Then, in February, there was suddenly a big push – Kate hired someone named Alison Corfield, who was then described as “loud” and a “ballbuster.” Corfield never started work in Kensington Palace. She opted to keep her job with Jamie Oliver. Ouch. Interestingly enough, the Telegraph got the exclusive on this, only they changed the headline after (presumably) a bitching out from Kensington Palace. The headline went from “Princess of Wales’s new private secretary rejects job, opting to stay with Jamie Oliver” to “Princess of Wales’s new private secretary rejects job to ‘stay under the radar’.” Guess Kate didn’t want to sound like she came up short compared to Jamie Oliver? Or maybe Kate doesn’t want to sound like she also can’t keep staff longer than a minute.

The “straight talking” PR guru hired as the Princess of Wales’s new private secretary has opted to stay with chef Jamie Oliver rather than take up the role, The Telegraph can reveal.

Alison Corfield, 51, is understood to have been uncomfortable with the prospect oqqf having such a high-profile position and decided instead to remain under the radar.

The mother of three, a branding and marketing expert, has worked with Oliver for eight years. A source said: “She loves the work and is an integral member of the campaigning team. She decided she just wanted to keep her head down and get on with the job she knows so well in the background. She didn’t want the publicity that comes with working at that level for such a well-known institution.”

The decision means that Kensington Palace aides have had to return to the drawing board in their search for the ideal candidate who will play a large part in shaping the Princess’s role.

She’s Princess of Wales and she’s still dependent on hiring some private secretary who will – through sheer force of will? – suddenly make all of the lazy, incompetent pieces fit together.

Speaking of, Kensington Palace’s editing elves couldn’t make Kate sound like an educated, competent woman in her 40s discussing her life’s work. This is Kate speaking to Iceland Foods’ Richard Walker about “the science” behind Early Years. Walker even says, directly, that people are really struggling financially and Kate just breezes past that, like it would never f–king occur to her to use her position and use this time and effort to… help out struggling families. It’s insane. I have to ask again, and I know I’m a broken record about this, but Jesus H., you guys: how is she not embarrassed? Are palace staffers embarrassed about this?? I guess they are, because Alison Corfield took one look at this sh-tshow and noped out of there in a hurry.

The London underground isn’t the nicest place to spend a summer afternoon. Crammed in a stuffy, smelly, and especially loud carriage, the only fresh air came through when the doors opened and closed at the various stations on your route. Although you weren’t complaining about your position, pressed up against Jake’s broad, toned chest. One arm around your waist gently but firmly supporting you, the other gripping onto an overhead handle, and your wicker basket hanging over his wrist.

Sensing your anxiousness, as a man with shopping accidentally bumps into you as he moves behind in the carriage. Jake scowls at him as your arms unconsciously tighten around his waist. Leans down and kisses the top of your head, smelling your lavender shampoo (the boys' favourite comfort smell). “it’s ok, bebita, not long now”.

Nuzzling closer into him, your senses calmed by his scent of grapefruit and guaiac wood. also the hint of coffee you both shared before leaving the flat. The monotone voice calls through the background of chatter and movement, calling “ This is High Street Kensington”

You both wait as everyone gets off, and then Jake goes before you take your hand. The carriage speeds away quickly, leaving metallic screeching’s in its memory, the created breeze easily lifting your favourite dress in its wake.

leaving the dull underground station behind, the sun shines bright in your eyes “oh sugar” you said as you put your back on your back. I’m going to nip into Accessorize sweetheart, I’ve left sunglasses back at the flat” Jake smiled an “ok bebita” shaking his head at your usual forgetfulness.

When you leave the shop, you expect that Jake will still be in the same spot. Looking around you, you feel a hand on your waist and an excited voice say “Mi Vida, I’ve had an idea”. Taking you across from the station, you see bicycle’s stationed together. You arch your eyebrow looking from them to Jake “Didn’t we have enough exercise this morning?, Love”.

Jake laughs so hard that his sunglasses fall from his head. “ aw bebita, of course. But this is a different type of ride than then. Getting flustered now, and also what people think. “Lockley we’re in public” You laugh with the emphasis on the L. “what you started it” mumbling “not my fault you have a dirty mind” replied Jake.

So what should have been a 7-minute bike ride to Kensington Palace for lunch? It took an hour there and back. Feeding the wildlife and just being carefree for a while with one of the loves of your life.

After getting your breath back and taking Jake’s hand, you both walk into the bustling Sunday Farmers Market. Freshness of everything dancing with staleness of a big city and filling the senses and enticing the imagination.

Standing in front of a fruit and veg stall, Jake perks up when you're weighing two melons “I prefer yours bebita” he says with a wink. “Jake’ you laugh. Jake wanders away laughing.

Turning back to the stall, you pick up a few other things orange’s, leeks, and garlic. “Oh do you have any rosemary?” You ask nearly forgetting, “ of course” the owner smiles, putting it in your basket. After paying, you’re behind Jake and gently pinch his sides “I know it’s you, mi amour” Jake says without turning. You look to see what’s got his interest.

Watches, vintage watches, and one in particular. It has a black cracked leather strap and a silvery black face with a gold dial. He turns to you, smiling, and takes your basket you're clearly struggling with.

You know he won’t buy himself the watch, as he often says he doesn’t deserve nice things with what he is. That thought hurts, especially as He turns to you, smiling and taking your basket you're clearly struggling with.

“love can you go get me something to drink, please” he puts the basket down, kisses the top of your head, and disappears from view. Just as you're putting the watch box in your backpack, Jake appears next to you like he never left.

Picking up the basket, Jake “announces “Steven says, " We need fish food, and Marc wants some snacks” After finishing shopping, it’s time to head home.

The sun still shines despite the time, so when passing the bikes again “will we cycle back to the flat? We can text the company to pick the bikes up afterwards.”

“Why not, it’ll be better than the tube mi amour” Jake says as he secures the basket to the bike “you got rosemary mi amour” the excitement clear in his voice as he turns to you standing with the biggest smile for him while handing him a yellow and white paper bag “I couldn’t wait my love, I hope you like it.”

Curious with furrowed brows, he takes the box out of the small bag, and his eyes go huge as he see’s the watch. “mi Vida, you shou” knowing what he was going to say. You cut him off with a gentle but passionate kiss finishing with. “You deserve this and so much more, my love. I love you so much, Jake.”

“what did I do to deserve you? You are whole being, mi Vida” Jake puts the watch on, and you get a photo of him. He rolls his eyes playfully.

“come on, mi Vida. The Romero Chimichurri won’t make itself.” His favourite condiment. He knows he’s loved, and it makes him want to be the best he can be, but to you he’s already that.

There's no place I'd rather be, starting to play from a passing phone. Which you think is very appropriate, as there is no place you would rather be than with Jake right now!

A 51-year-old handwritten letter by Paul McCartney inviting an unknown drummer to audition for The Beatles will be featured at Christie's Popular Culture: Rock and Pop Memorabilia Auction on Nov. 15, 2011 at the auction house's South Kensington, U.K., location.

This handwritten letter by Paul McCartney of The Beatles to an anonymous musician will head to auction at Christie's auction house Nov. 15, 2011. It is expected to bring $11,000 to $14,100. All photos courtesy Christie's.

Dated Aug. 12, 1960, the letter is one of the earliest occasions that the band referred to itself as The Beatles, according to a news release issued by Christie's auction house. It's expected to fetch between $11,000 and $14,100. (Click here to view the auction catalog.)

McCartney's letter was a response to an Aug. 8, 1960, ad in the Liverpool Echo (Box KP 60) that read "Drummer — Young — Free." It's unknown who placed the ad, to whom McCartney's note was addressed, or whether an audition ever took place. The letter was dated four days after McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Stuart Sutcliffe had verbally committed to travel to Hamburg on 15th August as a five-piece band. Before the discovery of this letter, it was not known that The Beatles were searching for a fifth member so close to the band's departure for Hamburg, and it was thought that Pete Best was the only option they considered, through their associations with the Jacaranda Club, according to the news release. Ringo Starr replaced Best two years later.

The story behind the letter's discovery is every collector's dream. A Liverpool man, who wishes to remain anonymous, found the letter tucked inside of a collectibles price guide he purchased in early 2011 at a sale in Bootle, near The Beatles' hometown of Liverpool. Although he focuses on antique coins, this collector regularly attends local car boot sales, where he scours the stalls for hidden treasures and is in the habit of buying all manner of collector’s guides — which really paid off.

“One of the best aspects of my work is the rare occasion when, out of the blue, you are made aware of the existence of something so extraordinary, it alters the knowledge of your specialist field. This letter has proved to be such a case," said Neil Roberts, Christie's director of popular culture. "My initial reaction was one of disbelief, but on seeing the item and being able to research the significance of the date and its content as well as conferring with renowned Beatles historians, it has turned out to be much more significant than mere words on paper. It is exciting to be able to offer to market a newly discovered important item of Beatles memorabilia, on behalf of an individual who was fortunate enough to find it folded up in a book at a car boot sale.”

From an historical perspective, the letter also indicates that The Beatles knew more about their forthcoming trip than previously believed. McCartney’s note refers to the approximate level of expenses they would be paid, as well as the duration of the contract: “expenses paid £18 per week (approx.) for 2 months.” The band signed its contract Aug. 15, 1960; before now, it was not known that The Beatles were aware of the duration of their stay before heading to Hamburg.

1 March - William and Catherine carried out engagements in Wales to mark St. David's Day. 8 March - He received Mr. Alastair Martin (Secretary of the Duchy of Cornwall).

9 March - William and Catherine received the Lord Hague of Richmond (Chairman). Later in the afternoon they visited the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in London where they were recieved by the Ambassador of Ukraine (His Excellency Mr. Vadym Prystaiko).

11 March - William received received the High Commissioners of Belize, Jamaica and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (Her Excellency Mrs. Therese Rath, His Excellency Mr. Seth George Ramocan, His Excellency Mr. Ellison Greenslade) at Kensington Palace.

14 March - William and Catherine attended the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey. William later appeared in a video segment during the BAFTA Film Awards.

16 March - William attended a Trustees' Meeting for the Royal Foundation via video link.

17 March - William and Catherine attended the 1st Battalion Irish Guards' St. Patrick's Day Parade in Aldershot.

19 March - William and Catherine kicked off their Platinum Jubilee Tour of the Caribbean as they arrived at the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport in Belize where they were recieved by the Governor-General of Belize (Her Excellency Ms. Froyla Tzalam). They later met the Hon. Juan Antonio Briceño (Prime Minister of Belize) and Mrs. Rossana Briceño at the Laing Building in Belize City.

20 March - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Che'il Mayan Chocolate Factory in Stann Creek. They later attended a festival of Garifuna culture and met marine conservation experts in Hopkins. William and Catherine also spent time diving at South Water Caye above the Belize Barrier Reef.

21 March - They visited Caracol Natural Monument Reservation and attended a training session of the British Army Training Support Unit Belize (BATSUB) in the Chiquibul Forest. Afterwards William held an Investiture at the San Ignacio Hotel. The Duke and Duchess attended a Reception to mark The Queen's Platinum Jubilee at Cahal Pech ruins where they were received by the Governor-General of Belize (Her Excellency Ms. Froyla Tzalam).

22 March - William and Catherine released photographs and videos of them scuba diving over the Belize Barrier Reef before departing Belize. They arrived in Jamaica for the next leg of their tour and were received by the British High Commissioner to Jamaica (Her Excellency Ms. Judith Slater) and Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith (Representative of the Prime Minister of Jamaica) at Kingston Norman Manley International Airport upon arrival. Afterwards they met Governor-General of Jamaica and Lady Allen at King's House and attended a Sports and Cultural Event at Trench Town Culture Yard.

23 March - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met the Hon. Andrew Holness MP (Prime Minister of Jamaica) at 1 Devon Road, Kingston. Afterwards they visited Shortwood Teachers' College and Spanish Town Hospital. Subsequently, Willliam and Catherine visited the Caribbean Military Technical Training Institute before attending a Reception Dinner to mark the Platinum Jubilee hosted by the Governor-General of Jamaica (the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen) at King's House.

24 March - William and Catherine attended the Commissioning Parade for the inaugural Initial Officer Training Programme at the Caribbean Military Academy before departing Norman Manley International Airport for the Bahamas where upon arrival at Lynden Pindling International Airport in Belize City they were recieved by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (Sir Cornelius Smith). Afterwards The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met the Rt. Hon. Philip Davis, MP (Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas) and Mrs. Davis at Sir Cecil Wallace Whitfield Centre in Nassau.

25 March - William and Catherine visited Sybil Strachan School and attended a Celebration for key workers for their work during the pandemic, at the Garden of Remembrance. They subsequently visited Parliament Square and took part in a Platinum Jubilee Sailing Regatta at Montagu Beach in the afternoon. Afterwards they attended a Reception at the Baha Mar Hotel hosted by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (Sir Cornelius Smith) to mark The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

26 March - On their final day while on tour of the Caribbean, William and Catherine visited Daystar Church in Abaco. Afterwards they unveiled a Memorial at Memorial Garden, Abaco to commemorate those who lost their lives in Hurricane Dorian before visiting a beach area in Abaco to meet local stall holders. William and Catherine then visited Grand Bahama Children's Home and Coral Vita (Winners, 2021 Earthshot Prize to Preserve our Oceans) in Grand Bahamas for their final two stops on their tour. In the evening they departed Lynden Pindling International Airport for the United Kingdom in the evening.

27 March - William and Catherine arrived at the Royal Air Force Brize Norton from the Bahamas after wrapping up their Caribbean tour.

29 March - William attended the Service of Thanksgiving for The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh at Westminster Abbey along with Catherine and their eldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
