What are the bootleg versions of The Play That Goes Wrong and A Comedy About a Bank Robbery like?
I have the 2018 Broadway cast of tptgw and 2019/2020 West End cast of tcaabr. Tptgw bootleg isn’t the best quality but you can still see most of the play. Tcaabr bootleg is better and closer to the stage, so you can see the actors’ faces
Let me know if you would like to have these bootlegs :)

Got a question for you. TVD/TO (and LG if you can apply them to this - or if you want to) as Jane Austen characters. I’m just curious as to who you’d put them as (especially Klaroline) and why.
Hey, hey luv! Great question. Well, Caroline has to be Elizabeth and Klaus as Darcy FOR SURE. They both had this love/hate relationship with an abundance of simmering chemistry below the surface at the start. Klaus and Darcy are both arrogant and kinda clueless when it comes to matters of the heart and Caroline is feisty and free-spirited like Elizabeth.
As for the other characters, I could see Elena being Jane (mainly because everyone thinks she’s wonderful and Caroline always felt a bit in her shadow at the beginning of TVD). I think Matt would be like Bingley (they both have that cute enthusiastic, Labrador puppy thing about them) and Katherine would probably be Lydia because she’s self centred and spoiled for the most part (although I love Katherine, don’t get me wrong). As for Kitty, I can see a little of Rebekah in her. Mainly because Kitty always misses out and so too Rebekah in some ways. As for Wickham, probably a mixture of Damon and Stefan. What do you think, luv? I know I didn’t do all characters but that’s a start!
Edit: I just re-read this properly! You meant any Austen character not just P&P, oops. I definitely think Klaus and Caroline have a Knightly/Emma vibe about them too.

Endgame or not, I wasn’t planning on watching Legacies. No one actually wants it and the built-in characters have no fans. Their fans want someone else with them as a package deal. But mainly, I figured that the audience is not for now. I was 11 when TVD. I’m 20 now. TVD and TO were a big part of me growing up. Legacies is likely for the younger fans, the ones that watched reruns and on Netflix, they haven’t seen it live. And even then, we don’t know if they’d watch because they’ve seen TVD/TO.
The only way I will ever watch any smidgeon of Legacies content is if Klaus and Caroline are on it together. Otherwise it can suck my dick.

Which AJ would you want back? The Sean Kanan version or the Billy Warlock version?
I love both AJs.  Billy was my first AJ, but his was more antagonistic.  I grew to love Sean as AJ and was pissed when Ron Carlivati killed AJ off because Sean disagreed with him.  I have to say that I would want Sean Kanan back as AJ.

thenerdyunhealthybrit said: she compared hormone treatment and surgeries and medication used to transition as gay conversion therapy. and that doctors give out hormone medical treatment too freely like anti-depressants and how it’s not the answer. stuff like that. she did an 11-tweet post about it which had a lot of bs. but what stuck out the most was the gay conversion therapy comparison.

Did you see the article dispatch recently posted😬
I did. But my point still stands about people’s defence being we shouldn’t idolised celebrities and put them on pedestals when they do something wrong.
Because as I said, that should be a general point without controversy, like it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to defend someone. Because the bar shouldn’t be so low on what you expect from your faves.
As for the Seon ho drama, I’m just waiting to see how it plays out. At this point I think he will be able to recover from her career, it might not be the same or take longer to get to where he was if he’s lucky.
But regarding the controversy, I’m just remaining indifferent from it. Before the Dispatch stuff I always thought it was a complex situation and both probably did messed up stuff. But I think we still don’t know the whole truth, and Seon ho clearly must have felt he did something wrong to apologise. It just might not be what the ex claims and something we don’t know.
I know people are eager for him to return to 2D1N, but honestly I don’t think he should. Who knows, maybe he will. But it will probably be best for him to not be a part of it at least until the end of the year so he can sort out all the stuff going on in his life.

So......I saw a bunch of reblogs of Jenna Coleman in period clothing on my dash & immediately thought @fictionxlover is at it again but then I looked properly at the post & was shocked it’s you lmao
Lol. I feel like I should explain.
So I recently got a month’s free trial of Britbox over here, and while the catalogue is lacking the stuff I wanted to watch (that’s on US Britbox), I got it regardless to watch some stuff on it and it recommended me ITV’s 2012 miniseries of Titanic, which I haven’t watched since it originally aired back in 2012.
Now all I ever really remembered from the series apart from the Titanic sinking becuase its the Titanic, was that the miniseries had a high budget, high production, Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame and high expectations which it didn’t live up to ratings and critically wise. But also all I ever remembered all these years was Jenna and Glen’s storyline as Annie and Paolo.
Like this was back when Jenna was Jenna-Louise Coleman and the only thing I had seen her in was her short stint as a student in Waterloo Road, I think that was in 2009? 2010?
So anyway, for the nostalgia for Annie and Paolo and how much I loved them in a short time, and also cause I watched a Laurence Fishburne documentary about the behind the scenes of the Titanic (which made me mad at people).
And I decided that when I was gonna watch this I wasn’t gonna get attached because I know what happens to Annie and Paolo (especially Paolo) and I’m like, I’m older now. I’m not gonna cry.
Wrong!
So 14 year old me only cried once, and that was when Spoiler! A lifeboat picks up Paolo and by the time it goes back to the other lifeboats where Annie is, she realises he’s dead and is like “We we’re gonna get married. I hope he knew that. I hope he knew I loved him”.
2021 me was getting chills in episodes 1 and 2, emotional in episode 3, which had most of the Annie/Paolo scenes so it was just the knowledge. And episode 4, I was a wreck. And this time I was crying over different storylines.
So three times I broke down in the episode.
1) When The Irish dad from Steerage manages to find his little girl (she jumped off a lifeboat onto the ship and left her mother and siblings because she’s afraid of the water and the lifeboat splitting) and he tries to open the gate to go up the stairs because he found her by a stairwell, but he can’t. So he’s like here’s what we are going to do. We are gonna sit here and hug and she’s like what about the water, and he’s like don’t worry about the water.
It was just that moment he realised that he can’t get his daughter out. Cause with him being a man, he probably thought there was a good chance he wouldn’t make it but wanted to make sure his fam did. But the realisation his daughter can’t be saved...I mean I don’t know why he couldn’t get out the way he came from but it was still sad.
2) Barnes/Watson. So they are the servants of a first class family. And Barnes has this affection for Watson, it’s like a playground pull her pigtails kind of affection. And it’s how made sure to find her and save her then gave her and letter of his appreciation. And we don’t see his body, the last we see of him is when the Titanic starts sinking and a lot we’re trying to hold on the collapsible that they wasn’t about to turn in time. But we never see him again but we get Watson reading his letter on the lifeboat where it’s revealed to contain his Will which had been witnessed by two passengers and he’s pretty much given everything to her (not much) and that there’s a small cottage for her father to live in and all he asks is that she thinks of him sometimes.
3) Then as you can guess, anytime Paolo appears and then when Annie finds Paolo and it’s too late. Also his brother Mario survives and I loved the brief relationship we see of the Sandrini brothers but Mario didn’t have a subplot, not like Paolo.
I would watch a spin-off around Annie and Paolo where a Londoner and Italian immigrate to America in the early 20th century, trying to make it big and start a new life. They were both such innocent characters, Paolo with his big dreams, wanting a better life while Annie doesn’t have dreams and is content with what she has and makes the best of a situation.
The miniseries as a whole, isn’t the best telling of the Titanic. There are too many characters and subplots going on and it’s all brief. Plus because it’s a Fellowes piece you have Class issue. Like the problem was the First Class stuff was the weakest stuff and that opened the series. The lowest class stuff (The workers, officers, the Irish family and servants of first class) was more interesting.
Also it was how Fellowes decided to tell the story. So the first three episodes tell the same days (From boarding the ship to hitting the iceberg) but from different perspectives, so the first episode focuses on the First class, the second episode is more Second Class (and a bit of steerage) then the third episode is more Steerage.
So because of this method of storytelling to try and be fresh, it kind of doesn’t work because everything is rushed. Because everyone only gets one episode with significant develop and it takes across 4-5 days and it just feels rushed whereas it could have been paced more across the 4 episodes. Like I would have liked more Annie/Paolo. And they don’t feel rushed even though they meet and Paolo proposes cause you feel like he’s an innocent, naive character, like he feels like he knows she is right for him and doesn’t want to waste time. Then Barnes/Watson they have that backstory and is more what’s between the lines with them. But then you have this romance storyline between the fictional Georgiana and the real life Harry Widener and it falls flat and feels rushed as they are sharing love declarations so quickly. While the subplot with the Steerage Irish wife being so cold to this man in Steerage then later on it’s revealed that it’s because she and him have an attraction and feelings and kiss, it feels very left field and I felt zero chemistry. Plus he turns out to be a cop killer on Wanted posters.
Like for that kind of storytelling with only 4 episodes, there are too many characters to follow. Like it would have probably been better to tell the story with every episode covering a day on the Titanic.
I will say this it did feel a bit more real rewatching that I do watching the James Cameron film in recent times. Cause the 1997 film is kinda lost in the epic romance of Jack and Kate and a lot of fictional characters. But the miniseries, I think the romance and drama is more subdued, the only one that felt a bit off for me was the serial killer and wife of an Irish fam falling in love/being attracted to each other. Like the scenes were they try to get passengers off the titanic and the political power plays, the mistakes made by the Titanic crew in dealing with the disaster as well as preparing for its maiden voyage, and the moment the ship starts to go down the water starts hitting the deck, it felt a bit more realistic and less spectacle than the Cameron film.
And I haven’t rewatched Titanic the film recently but I liked how they addressed the actions of some of the real life people like Ismay jumping on a lifeboat last minute to save himself. Molly Brown and the women taking charge of a lifeboat and turning back for more survivors, Lightoller getting passengers on the boat and trying to get women and children first, and also the mistakes made with the first boat not being full. Him being afraid boats might split. Then when the ship sank the men holding on and climbing on top the overturned collapsible. Jack Thayer and this other guy agreeing to jump and swim to a boat as soon as it starts to sink. And then the Duff-Gordon’s (I believe that’s there name) deciding not to go back to look for more survivors and bribing the sailor and all the people on their half-empty lifeboat with £5 each if they don’t go back. The only one I wasn’t big on was Harry Widener’s rushed romance with a fictional character.
Anyway I’ve gone off. I mentioned to Autymn that I started rewatching it and I think she’s never seen it or heard of it despite claiming to be a period hoe and a Jenna stan. I think after episode 2 I was telling her a bit more about my nostalgia for Annie and Paolo or Desdrini as I’m coining it now (It’s either that or Pannie or Sandmond), and how I know it’s not gonna end well. Then by episode 3 I was recapping why was going on cause she lost it at the serial killer cop killer reveal with one of the characters, and then I was wondering if their was gifs, clips or pics on Tumblr because I wanted to explain how cute they were and how pure Paolo was and how he was too innocent to die. And off I went into the rabbit hole sending them to her and also reblogging it.
Now I’ve gone down that rabbit hole, while it’s great to see Jenna thriving in British TV dramas in more leading roles now and not supporting. I can’t watch anything of Glen’s cause most of his stuff is Italian and not on Netflix etc and a lot of his TV roles are more recurring or guest roles. Not much leading etc. Who knows, maybe if the show was a bigger success, more opportunities might have come out of it.

OMG Cole died?!????????!!! See this is why I hated that show, they drew me in with the concept of seeing different POVs but when they killed off two of thosePOVs & centered on Noah they lost me
I’ve been saving this until I got on my laptop, but then kept forgetting so I’m gonna rant using my phone.
So with S5, two storylines took place, one in the present day - or at least a little bit into the future, which focused on Noah and Helen. Then the second storyline is set decades into the future and focused on an adult Joanie Lockhart and Cole is dead in this storyline.
Now here is for the ranty bit. This season just further shits on Cole, Alison, Cole and Alison AND Ruth Wilson!
First of all, Joanie Lockhart is just an unlikable character, her personality seems to be defined by the fact that Alison “killed herself” when she was a kid. She barely shows any emotion about her dad. And her storyline is about her trying to find the truth about Alison.
She is the one who learns the truth about Alison’s death and confronts Ben, who threatens her and scares her and makes the police believe that she’s a mental patient of his.
Then they shit on Cole/Alison’s relationship and Cole himself. When Joanie tells Noah that Alison was murdered, Noah is all Cole was right he always thought she was murdered because he’d never leave Joanie. And Joanie tells Noah that Cole told her that Alison killed herself, that he tried to save her but he couldn’t and that they are better off without her.
Fuck that made me mad. Cole should have learnt the truth and would not give up believing that she didn’t kill herself.
Oh and to top it all off, the show ends with Ben getting away with killing Alison. No Justice is served. And fuck Sarah Treeme, the EPs — they said the reason that Alison didn’t get justice for being killed was because it “wasn’t their story to tell.” Fuck that. This whole show is your story, at no point is it not their story, they introduced and made the decision that she would get murdered. It was THEIR story. And I don’t care what anyone says but the only reason Alison never got justice was because it was a big Fuck You to Ruth Wilson.
Now, let’s move onto the Helen and Noah stuff. Fuck. I’ve been saying for years that this has become the Noah show, that the EPs have had a massive hard on for Dominic West and Noah Solloway since S2, it was cemented by S3 when that French LI got a POV — Autymn has heard me say this for years. And this season was clearly all about Noah once again, but this time trying to redeem Noah and make him worthy of a happy ending.
But it fails. He still gets a happy ending. One he doesn’t deserve. Noah is still unlikable throughout the season and only gets a little bit likeable in the last few episodes but it feels so forced. He’s still an asshole in S5 and nothing can erase the past 4 seasons of assholery.
And the ending is BS, making Helen and Noah endgame. They are a toxic ship, bringing out the worse in each other. Noah doesn’t even deserve Helen and the writers must hate Helen if they put her back with Noah. Honestly it’s just bollocks because Helen’s entire arc throughout the show is about her never actually moving on from Noah, while Noah just remains being an class A fuckboy.
Oh, and they described Cole and Alison as a doomed fairytale. Fuck now. That bond that they had was too special that there was nothing doomed about it because they always would have ended up back together. They had the more interesting history. Meanwhile Helen and Noah literally had no bond apart from being addicted to each other.
The Affair is just about rich white privilege. Rich white assholes. I mean after the first two seasons, the show started to focus less on Cole/Alison, Alison THE FEMALE LEAD, The Lockharts and focused way WAY more on Noah, Helen and The Solloways. The most unlikable parts of the show.
I’ve never seen a show where the writers and EPs are so disconnected with the fans and what is popular with audiences.

Me going to @thenerdyunhealthybrit blog after hearing they cancelled Eurovision
Tumblr media
Are you ok?
I just saw this. And you know what it still stings. Ultimately they made the right call and us fans were expecting it. But it still hurts. From what I gather, the main reason for cancelling the whole thing and not just postponing it is because they want to keep the May date for Eurovision. The uncertainty with the situation and how long it will last— they don’t want to postpone it and have it in Autumn because it’s not enough time to plan hosting it for May. The competition is bigger than it was pre-2000.
It just sucks because for starters, the contest was quite open. I couldn’t tell you who would have probably won. But also like a lot of the countries sent their best song in years. There were talks of countries like Lithuania and Iceland winning for the first time ever. Russia sent Big UNO! And at first I’m like wtf. But I’m also going Uno, Dos, Cuarto! Iceland with Dadi and doing the dance. The Roop, On Fire the artistry of everything. Azerbaijan’s Cleopatra.
Like Dadi, my king has quietly been going viral on Twitter without getting the credit he deserves or folks realising how long he’s been thriving. Because before he won Söngvakeppnin at the end of February. Russell Crowe shared his music video. Some journalists did. Now his song was used in a viral video on Twitter about Quarantine like and James Corden was one of the many to retweet it and I’m like give Dadi credit. I hope when all this blows over the US talk shows invite him.

Gendrya reunion thoughts? For me it was more than I imagined. Arya was SO flirtatious too like I’m speechless 😭💖👀
Tumblr media
It’s more than I thought, and I just love how the media are like ‘They’re flirting’, Gendrya are like the only ship I truly care about in Game of Thrones, like I gather we are probably not gonna get what we want - and that’s ok, this isn’t a ship show and there is a reason for Fanfiction.
But god I’m so happy, and also it’s nice to not feel dirty now for shipping them in the show because of course when the actors last shared a scene - despite the 10 year age gap, Maisie was underage and was still a child. While I’ve been a fan of Joe’s since Skins in 2007. So like I would always be like I ship Gendrya in ASOIAF but not GOT because of the actors. They have chemistry, always have, but it didn’t feel right full on shipping them.

I did not know that there was going to be another adaptation of The Secret Garden. Thank you for letting me know. While I love that Colin Firth will be in this, I'm not really looking forward to it. I think I'll stick with the two I grew up with, the 1987 Hallmark Hall of Fame (Firth as older Colin) and the 1993 film. I even liked Back to the Secret Garden more than the trailer for this new film.
I never want to rule anything out. Like when it was announced my thoughts was while I have a natural protection to the book and the 1993 film, I was open to the remake because of how it will introduce the next generation to this wonderful story, like this could be a way to introduce my niece to it.
But watching the trailer...I just hope the trailer is misleading. First off, the overuse of CGI is alarming. It is not needed. The beauty of The Secret Garden is nature and natural beauty. How one can turn something old, decayed and dying back to life, how one can escape in the real world through this Secret Garden. But the use of CGI here, just leans into the fantasy too much, it’s determined to create this fantasy world that doesn’t exist. It’s not what the book is about. It just feels like they are doing CGI to give the film a blockbuster feel to drive the box office numbers up. The beauty of the 1993 film was the lack of CGI, the naturalness of it. It magic is subtle and not in your face because the magic isn’t literal, it’s metaphorical. It’s how a kid views nature etc.
Then of course, there are the scenes in the trailer that provide magic. That shows the trees and plants growing by themselves. Now in the 1993 film, this does happen, but in the film it’s presented as a montage - to speed up time, it doesn’t at all suggest it happened quickly. So it could be that the remake is taking a similar approach.
However, with the CGI, the way how some of the trees grow is not done in a natural way. The best way to describe is it’s like the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter. And we can’t forget the scene in the trailer where Mary and Dickon are running in the garden with their arms out and the plants rapidly grow as they run pass and their fingers touch the plants. Implying that they have magic.
It just feels like the director has little regard for the story and the themes of the book and just cares about making a film that will have some aesthetically pleasing shots and make a lot of money.
The trailer just doesn’t give me hope. One of the important arcs is how Mary is a mean, sour girl and how her develops and grow - but we don’t see that. The trailer also Mamés be believe that they are going to brush over the socio-historical context of the film.
The only positive I can take from the remake is the casting of Julie Walters and Colin Firth. I think the casting is perfect. I’m not sure if Walters will have the strictness that Maggie Smith delivers, but when I think about what Maggie Smith represents in terms of my childhood, I feel like Walters could be what Maggie was to me for the next generation. Walters is not at Smith level yet, but in 10-20 years time, I feel like she will be.
And Colin Firth, I just feel like it’s a natural step for him. He’s moved on from being those romantic leads now, I feel like these kind of roles, the mysterious semi-absentee parental figure is the kind of roles he’s fitted for in family films.
The remake will provide tumblr with some good gifs though, no doubt about that. But it’s by the guys that did that latter Harry Potter films and Fantastic Beasts. And I feel like - mainly with Fantastic Beasts - that they really overdo the CGI as opposed to actual sets.

I loved House of Anubis! One of the best Nickelodeon shows of this decade. I haven't watched the Dutch original or the German remake. Nor do I know how to find it, sorry.
I think it was one of the last Nickelodeon series, that and Victorious before I eventually grew up and moved to more adult shows full time. However, I never completed Victorious, iCarly or House of Anubis.
And recently I was going on a Nostalgia rewatch spree and watching Drake and Josh since it was on Prime and spotted House of Anubis on there. And it brought back a flood of memories. It was sooo underrated and a show I think many forget about. It was also one of the few drama shows on a kids channel and Nickelodeon rarely do those, I know CBBC (a British kiss channel we have) do and have done with shows like Tracy Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground. But it’s rare to see it on an American Kiss network and it was aimed at a slightly older audience.
I remember loving the first season and then watching the second season but I lost interest halfway, I can’t remember why? Maybe it was the Fabina stuff because I found the break up stupid and then the love triangle? And then I remember reading that Nina wasn’t returning for the third season so I just never caught up. I did follow Bobby - who played Mick - in his new show Wolfblood though.
But after reading about how it’s a remake, I started doing research on the show and because different actors and actresses leave in each version it means they do diverge a bit. So I ended up watching a Fabian and Neinke (Hopefully I spelt that right) video, their Fabina and it got me intrigued. Maybe I’m imagining it but I felt the chemistry in the fanvid and they looked so soft and made me feel something.
Also their Nina doesn’t leave prematurely like in House of Anubis so it’s like a shippers dream lol. While in their version Mara leaves prematurely and a new character replaces her. And I think Mick stays. So changes like that makes me curious to watch it.
Anyway don’t worry that you can’t find it lol, I honestly weren’t expecting the kind of response I got because I thought the fandom would be dead after all these years lol.

Their makeup was done like that on purpose. It was a throwaway joke about tanning beds at the start of the show.
I heard. Doesn’t make the make up less awful and distracting.

I can’t believe there are people who like Stoe?? When it was Tyler and her, sure but um NuStefan/Her ain’t it. Then it seems more fantasy has well? Like they are living in a bubble and don’t know who the other truly is?
Only two kinds of people like Stoe: Racists and hypocrites.
Sorry that may be harsh and generalising. But a lot of posts I see of people shipping Stoe are Stefan ‘fans’ and Anti-Gabi fans. They literally ship Stoe to hate on Gabi - which is hypocritical considering all Gabi did was get revenge on the people that wronged her (Abby and Stefan) by gaslighting and switching paternity results. When STEFAN RAPED ABBY AND TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HER. Not to mention what he did to Gabi.
Plus Stoe shippers are likely middle-aged women who think Chloe can ‘fix’ or ‘save’ Stefan. If the job is for the woman to fix the man, then it’s not a good or healthy relationship.
And I’m saying this as someone that crackship Stoe back in December 2017/January 2018.
Also how can you ship Stoe after what it did to Chloe? How she defended him? And dismissed how he raped Abby? I’m just like, no wonder all the guys are good friends with Chloe when she always sides with them over the women.
Like there is a way to not dismiss the rape and still say it was different for him. Like he still raped her but he ‘loved’ her so it wasn’t done with malicious intent. Chloe just downright dismissed  it.
And the more she becomes smitten with Stefan, the more it does Chloe an injustice.
Once again I do apologise for some generalising regarding Stoe shippers. This is just the majority that I see. They can’t mention Stoe without mentioning and insulting Gabi.
