There's something so heartwarming about having Stede be his openly joyous queer self and not have that be a bad thing.
I know I know, it's the bare minimum yeah yeah. But my point stands because you don't see it anywhere else (except good omens). And it's wonderful because this character has no shits to give about how others might perceive his flamboyance, even when they, like Izzy or the Badmintons, openly mock him for it. He's found a safe space to be, and he knows he's free to express his true self. He's jolly, he's extravagant, he's posh, he's sweet, he's squeaky, he's gentle, he's exuberant, he's considerate, he's soft, and it's never framed as a negative trait.
And on top of all that, you almost NEVER see characters like that who behave in a way society will call "weak" for a "man" and have them not only be the main protagonist mind you, but also be resourceful, capable, confident, strong, resilient, determined and overall amazing (he's a bloody idiot but he's also brilliant as shit).
I know stuff like this has been said, especially for Aziraphale, but I can't stress enough how refreshing it is to see someone, a human, who has no powers to keep him safe, who's so obviously queer, and have that just be a part of their personality and not their whole defining characteristic. To have someone so freely effeminate and have them be respected

The way Chenyi isn't afraid anymore because he will not let go. He realized that he had forgotten and let Ai Di down and he had been the one to hurt him and this time he isn't going to let it happen again. He is going to keep Ai Di and he is going to show him
Tumblr media
Ai Di does not know how to handle this. He's spent so long trying to stop loving Chenyi, to let go, to step away and to give up and if he doesn't... what is he supposed to do? How is he supposed to walk back what he did and all his fears and all his pain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chenyi finally putting the words out, plain and serious, no hesitation because he needs Ai Di. He loves Ai Di and he needs him, he needs him to the point that he can't let him go, that he literally tied him to his bed and learned to eat spicy food and gave him weapons and let him hold a knife to his neck. Chenyi loves Ai Di enough that the life he's been living without him isn't worth it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then he finds the birthday presents and it's that, it's the gifts and the love in them and all the things he failed at and it's how Chenyi found love in his own failures because he realized that he hurt Ai Di so much that he felt the pain in himself as he realized what he had done to the person he loved but took for granted because he was always there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The things that I Love You did to Ai Di's face cannot be described, only experienced, because this is what it looks like when love has always hurt and love has left him alone and suddenly love is right there offering him healing and dreams and a person who's never imagined any of that being real suddenly facing a dream sat right in his lap.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And no one was every okay again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ai Di had better fistfight death to keep Chenyi at his side, I will accept nothing else.

That scene in S2E2 after the fight where Ava asks Beatrice, “just your job?”….I’ve been thinking about it a lot because for the last 12 years, Ava has been told she is nothing but a job, a burden, an unwelcome responsibility to people in her life. She never mattered beyond, “I’m only here because you’re literally helpless and can’t take care of yourself,” or, “You have the Halo so we have to train, protect, and look out for you.” She probably doesn’t have many, if any, memories of a time before being paralyzed and therefore doesn’t remember what it’s like to be anything other than a problem to people.
Tumblr media
The fact that Beatrice, as “contained” as she is, recognized that and willingly stepped out of her own comfort zone to reassure Ava that it was about more than just the mission for her…that she genuinely enjoyed her time with Ava… It had to be one of the very few times anyone has ever said that she has value as an individual and is more than just a job, burden, or responsibility. It’s the second time that Beatrice tells her that Ava matters, in fact (S1E8 for reference), and I adore the writers (and actresses) for giving us such a heartbreaking but beautiful storyline for Ava and Beatrice.

I’ve wondered a little on why the detail of Cassian being a cook was added - at first, it seemed to me like extraneous characterization. You know the type, where something is put into the mix that has nothing to do with the story’s narrative and the character’s place in it. But Cassian being a cook actually fits his story and even his arc very well. Somebody, I forgot who and where, mentioned that Diego Luna’s casting is perfect because his sweet personality and general good and kind vibes shine through in Cassian. This is the tension of Cassian’s arc in Andor Season 1: he is someone who just wants to live, he is a cook, someone with skills to nourish and support, to provide the basic human need of food, and yet, he is thrown into a world reigned by the Empire (or in the beginning, on Kenari, by other colonial forces), that won’t let him live the way he wants. We see glimmers of the person he could have been and the life he might have had - also in the ending of Rogue One, where Cassian and Jyn hug in a way that hurt so much, because they had found each other, and their relationship’s potential was never going to unfold. Andor’s story is painful because we get to see the cost of rebellion, the sacrifices made. But not just that, even those who choose not to rebel, like Cassian at first, also suffer under the empire’s rule.

Thinking about how Wilhelm says to Kristina that he won't give the speech if Simon won't perform his song at the Jubilee. Thinking about how Simon posted Wille's Song for the world to see and Wilhelm parrots Erik's words to him. Thinking about "so you can show solidarity only when it doesn't cost you anything?"

thinking about how all of the Time Gang™️ had reasons to want to choose the tva instead of their sacred timeline life
don (mobius) was a struggling single dad who couldn’t even sell jet skis, his livelihood
frank (casey) was literally escaping from alcatraz and was actually like do i need to go back to exactly where i was??
verity (b-15) was probably gonna be in the battle of new york given that the date of the timeline loki visits was 2012 in new york city
A.D. (ouroboros) was a struggling writer who couldnt be appreciated for his passion
loki finally found a place where he belonged with people he cared about

There were so many things in that final episode (and the whole show really) that were just brilliant. I don’t care what problems anyone has with it or if anyone wants to claim it was fan service. Imo the Obi Wan Kenobi show was magnificent and beautiful and I loved it and I will be taking no comments at this time thank you. Except yes please come scream about it with me if you loved it too 🤪

Omg THANK YOU what ever happened with Beatrix in s2? I don't even remember if she actually found out what really happened at Aster Dell. It was one of the things I was waiting for because the lie couldn't hold on for long, the minute she taunted Sky or Bloom (hell even one of the winx) they'd have told her how wrong she was about everything. Bloom could have easily gone to her (who was another girl looking for her family and being used by Rosalind) and said "Rosalind confirmed to me that it was her who blew up the place and Dowling and Harvey didn't know about her plan", or even "Rosalind said AD was full of blood witches so your parents couldn't have been from there, your family didn't die there, so on some level you've been lied to". And then Bea's whole world would crumble wouldn't it? The villains of her story were not really the villains, AD was not her home and her family is not dead. All of her hatred and need for revenge was misplaced, her story is not what she thought it was and her father might've known all along. She'd still have to do whatever Rosalind said if she wanted answers but she'd see her in a different light now right? And how would this knowledge affect Andreas and Bea's relationship?
Also, do we know what Rosalind told Andreas? Was he aware that the people of AD were blood witches? How much did he know about Bea's origins? And why did the witches even want Bea? Why did Rosalind want Andreas to raise her, why was she important? Rosalind couldn't have known she'd need her to infiltrate Alfea 16 years later so what did she need her for and why did she want Andreas specifically to raise her?
Was gonna publish this one without an answer because I agree with EVERYTHING, but just to answer your bottom question "do we know if Andreas knew the people in AD were blood witches" yes
He confirms it to Saul twice. Once in 1x06 in the flashback, where he's confronted and Saul says "there's still people back there, Andreas! They didn't evacuate! We have to tell Rosalind" and Andreas answers "she knows!"
Beyond that, my other guess is that Rosalind knew the Dragon Flame would be a baby in the arms of the AD people, arrived there only to find two babies. One of which she suspected more, so she hid her in the first world. The other one she didn't think was the Dragon Flame, but one can never be too cautious, so she took that one too.
I like to think Beatrix is from AD, unlike Bloom. She is the daughter of either a forbidden romance between a blood witch and a fairy or the miracle fairy child between two blood witches, thus confirming they are not so different from fairies after all.

It's the abbot reminding Tharn that he has to trust Phaya and Phaya begging Tharn to trust his dreams and Tharn rejecting that trust because trust means and love means hurting Phaya and the very fact that he cares for him makes that love and trust nearly impossible.
(How can you love or trust someone when you're sure doing either means they will leave you, that you'll hurt them, that you'll be why they die?)
