Vaccines that help astronauts to live in space can be used by the elderly on Earth (Check it out!)

Florida Central University and the company Vaxxinity, developed together a new vaccine to help with issues like the weakening of muscles and bones. It's important to say that this happen through time, not only by astronauts in space but by people in general. On Earth, the cause is natural aging, in space, it's because of the travel conditions.

Researchers from Florida Central University and Vaxxxinity, a biotech company, are promising that the vaccine which they developed, can help with the health problem preventing the weakening of the bones and muscles of their patients. The objective of the research is to help in situations of injuries and immobility.

At first, the university and the company behind the vaccine said that they will start clinical trials in humans in 2025. This research is very important to a lot of people, on Earth and in future space travels. A recent study showed that astronauts suffer bone loss in six month space travels, in the same way the elderly on Earth experienced in twenty years.

This research is crucial in future space missions including the return to the Moon that  National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa), is planning in 2025 and in future travels to Mars. This space medicine study aims to evaluate the effects of immunotherapy developed by Vaxxinity, of proteins which influence muscles and bone growth. 

New Vaccine

According to the newspaper Miami Herald, the objective of this new research is to create a vaccine that will reduce muscular loss exponentially or to help in the recovery in cases of lesion, immobility or in space travel. 

According to Lou Reese, co-founder and executive president of Vaxxinity, the human clinical trials will begin in 2025. Florida Central University says that the space medical research will assist the elderly population on Earth and astronauts.     

In the United States, the aging of their population is a constant worry, especially in Florida, a state with a great number of elders. The state also has an economy turned to tourism and space exploration. Florida´s Kennedy Space Center attracts more than 1,5 million people in a year.

According to Melaine Coathup, this space research has the power to open new opportunities to innovate solutions and overcome barriers of a profound space exploration, like a trip to Mars in the future. Nowadays, astronauts need to exercise two hours a day to combat bone and muscular deterioration in space.

Found out the sickness going around my house was infact Covid and a Flu mixed together. Fun times.

My dad just tested positive tonight, but we've all been sick on and off for well over two weeks, he just got sick last week and we're all double vaxxed. I think that's why we didn't get as sick as we should've. My mum has COPD and my dad had a collapsed lung as a teen, but they both came out near perfectly fine. My dad's just got a terrible cough and no appetite/taste. But other than that he said he feels alright and even that's getting better.

I knew it'd happen at some point, we all work and go out often. I just didn't think we wouldn't even notice that's what it was. It just felt like a nasty flu for most of us.

I'm kinda glad it was covid, I thought my dad was just getting worse for no reason, but because he quit smoking in the last week it's affecting him as well.

I'll just be glad when we're all feeling 100%. It's basically just him left to get better now.

It was Sebastian's Birthday (guitar), and he was gifted a guitar pinata. Super cool! He also taught us a new way to put out the candles on his cake. That PBR came in handy! Adachi on bass is agile and really lays it down. Markley is the glue and keeps it all together on the kit. Get out and see this band, they Rock!!
