The way I feel I can't express
We trust each other less and less
Twisted thoughts and twisted deeds
Ever changing, different needs
Never planned it quite like this
No more pain, I'm powerless
Do we end it while we can,
Or should we make a different plan?
I cannot treat you like a friend
Must we see it to the bitter end?
Confused, don't know which way to go..
Carry on, the hatred grows
Never have any kind of peace
Until I find my own release
Maybe now you'll understand
Or do you need a helping hand?
Time will pass and we will see,
We were just not meant to be...

Thrash Double-Feature For most blogs, YouTube channels, and publications, it’s the end of the year, which means it’s list season. A lot of top ten lists are going to be coming out soon, and here at This Ain’t A Scene Reviews, I’ll be dropping mine soon, but I wanted to throw out a few more reviews beforehand. I got a few new albums that I’ve been spinning, and I may find some more, but things are slowing down, and nothing is coming out. With that said, I got a double feature today of two thrash albums that I found recently, and I’ve listened to them a few times, so I wanted to talk about them, but not before doing a bit of housekeeping. Reviews are coming on a couple of things, but expect a few top five / ten lists before and/or after my yearend list. I just need to fill space somehow until 2023 kicks in, but until then, I got a couple of albums I wanted to briefly talk about, starting with... Xentrix - Seven Words I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t know who Xentrix were, and if you said “who” when reading that name, because I’m sure a lot of other people did. I found these guys on Angry Metal Guy, and turns out, they’re a British band from the early 90s that fell into obscurity and broke up after a couple of albums, but they came back a few years ago to mixed results. Seven Words is their second album back, and it’s some decent thrash. They mix in a bit of groove metal, but mainly in the riffs and tones, all the while still being thrash. There are a ton of riffs and solos on this thing, and they’re really good. The vocals and lyrics aren’t anything to write home about, but they’re fine enough. This album will not change your mind if you don’t like thrash, but if you do, you might get something out of it. It’s a bit long, clocking in at 47 minutes, but it’s not a bloated album, thankfully. Doomsday - Depictions Of Chaos The other album I have to talk about is an EP from the crossover / thrash band Doomsday and their debut EP, Depictions Of Chaos, and this EP is fantastic. It’s doesn’t reinvent the wheel by any means, but it does its job well. It’s a standard crossover record, so if you like Power Trip, Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, and all that stuff, you’ll like this record quite a bit. It’s well done, but you won’t find anything unique about them, though. With something like this, however, that’s what you’ll be focused on; you’ll be able to mosh your heart out with this one, with or without a beer in your hand while doing so. I don’t have a lot of stuff to say about this 18-minute EP, but it’s worth hearing, that’s for sure.

UK Thrashers XENTRIX New Album Details For "Seven Words"
UK Thrashers XENTRIX New Album Details For “Seven Words”
Hailing from the North West of England, XENTRIX was formed in 1985 by guitar player Chris Astley. After numerous changes to the line up XENTRIX signed to Roadrunner records and entered the studio to record their first album ‘Shattered Existence’ with producer John Cuniberti (Vio-lence, Forbidden, Joe Satriani). XENTRIX were one of the leading lights of the British thrash metal movement. They had…
