finished princess peach showtime so time for a review cause why not

spoilers and pictures cause I got things to say

no Mario in game 0/10 /s

but yeah, this game was kinda a let down, I’m not gonna lie. It is for younger kids, like what you could give a 10 year old to keep them occupied. But I’m a technical adult, so I’m gonna talk about it like a technical adult

I like the world and the lil side guys, I can’t be bothered to remember their names

The power of ‘Sparkle’ and ‘Darkle’ were kinda dumb, seeing the word ‘darkle’ being used in a serious context felt very out of place ngl.

one big highlight is the boss designs, a nice blend of masquerade with stage prop puppets, they were very fun

All of them have their own vibes, and stand out great. Well except there’s two of them with the same spotlight kinda theme.

Madame Grape is cool

Very cool design, reminds me of Mardi Gars kinda cause of the colors. Wish she had more a motivation, like maybe saying that she was rejected from a role she adored, and it made her go insane cause she was obsessed with it. The only thing is, in her boss fight

main head/body, floating hands, big ass accessories that add a menacing glow and make them seem bigger.

her boss fight also makes poor use of space, it’s set in a massive arena but you only move in a small space during it. Not to mention Peach looks like a mix of Rosalina and Elsa in her final dress

It felt like an underwhelming ending

the plays and their stories were very stylized and cool, my favorite story probably being the hero plays with Mighty Peach.

In the first half you fight an alien invasion on Earth, and in the second one you go to the alien’s home planet to recuse the creatures that kidnapped. It’s a nice two parter story

Gameplay wise, my favorites are the baking stories. It was fun and challenging to finish all the patterns on the cakes, and baking all the cookies in time. Very cute and pretty calming. Made me smile

overall, I don’t think it was worth $60. Maybe $25-$30 overall, a good part of it due to the visuals. The more detailed transformation scenes blend well against the gameplay and don’t stand out in an obvious way. A lot of care went into the game, and I can appreciate that. Do kinda think a Mario cameo at the end of the credits would’ve been silly and cute, like he came to save Peach and hands her back her crown (she lost it at the start of the game). I know it’s meant to be a game about Peach, but it would’ve been cute

ngl i do like the idea of modern wwx who tries (and fails) to participate in hook-up culture

like, as a teenager he didnt care to seek out relationships, despite always kinda wanting one. he’d been confessed to plenty of times, but he genuinely did not reciprocate and thought it’d be disrespectul to accept someone’s feelings out of pity

then he’s in college, and he’s still never dated or even kissed anyone, and that doesn’t bother him at all! but wei ying does notice that’s a topic that becomes a little harder to escape from, especially in parties when someone is interested on him and asks if he’s single. he loves parties, loves meeting new people, loves making friends! but for the first time, his lack of interest starts striking him as a bit odd, as if he’s missing out on something

like, yes! he’s single! would even consider himself “available”! but... how can he say that and in the same sentence reject someone? “oh yeah i’m single and available, i’m just not interested in you specifically”? no, that’s just a great way to get a slap in the face

so... maybe he should just start giving people a chance? maybe he needs to try it to know he likes it, see if it can evolve into something more?

fake it until you make it?

so he does. when someone flirts, he flirts back. when someone asks if he’s single, he says yes. when someone leans in for a kiss, he doesn’t step away.

he tries not to feel disappointed at how the first kiss he’d been saving for 20+ years felt so... underwhelming.

making out isn’t that special either, he found out when a kiss started evolving and he didn’t have the heart to stop them. even when the person is really nice and pretty and has good breath, it’s still just “eh”. it feels kinda good, but for the most part it’s a bit too wet and smothering. but ey, his kissing partner is having fun, so!! that’s fine, really, he’d like to keep hanging out with them after the kiss is done

and he keeps trying to make it fit, trying to find that spark that makes everyone so excited for this. wei ying is a scientist! he’ll find it at some point!

or maybe it feels like this to everyone else too. hm... he’d have to analyze the hypothesis

2nd rehearsals thoughts below

The ones who impressed me

Malta - Their stage show is so creative and fun?? This might actually kinda make it to the finals like wow

Serbia - It's bonkers in a good way and it feels like I'm actually fighting a boss in a game ngl

Latvia - It's going to be the most atmospheric performance of the night, I'm feeling it. It impressed me a lot but I don't know how much the televoters will appreciate them. I've already came to the conclusion that they aren't qualifying because I don't want to bawl my eyes out by giving myself hope.

Israel - I still don't like the song, but man she's killing the stage. She's totally coming for your points and there's nothing you can do about it, like her choreography is freaking awesome?? Probably top 3 in the semifinal

Moldova - Nothing much to add tbh, the performance is what I've expected from them, it's perfect in every way

Finland - Every shot is amazing ngl, from the first one when he gets out of the box until the last one when the dancers also join the stage. It's winning the semifinal by a huge margin

The ones who were alright

Norway - Much brighter than the NF performance, didn't really see anything THAT special from the snippet but it has a very competent staging

Portugal - Yeah, I know her staging is empty but the dancers kind of make it up for me? I don't understand how they didn't get the funding for a better one though. The NF staging was the best and they should have kept it.

Sweden - It's not that different from Mello but it lacks a lot more passion tbh

Azerbaijan - Really liked the split screens, all in all, another good staging but that's it

The ones who were dissapointing

Ireland - I know it's just a rehearsal and most of them are keeping their voices for the actual show, but he was very off. I don't think that much gold and glitter suits the song as well

Croatia - The sound is very off and the performance felt unengaging

Switzerland - The dancers feel so uncoordinated and messy to me, didn't understand from the start why this song even needed dancers

Czechia - I saw a lot of comments of praise for their staging but I was heavily underwhelmed. The graphics are nice but isn't it too much pink? They also looked pretty uncoordinated and the vocals were flat, I think the idea was nice but kinda poorly executed. My gut feeling gave me NQ vibes sadly but I guess that's just me since everyone else really liked it. Hope I'm wrong though

Netherlands - Oh gosh the old version had much much more passion and this new one just sounds so deadpan I'm sorry. It looks like they don't want to be there on stage as well. I feel like they're kind of doomed being behind Finland but who knows

Fuck ‘em up, Mix!!

Anyways, that was… underwhelming. Ngl, kinda disappointed in the last episode. You know how some things go out with not a bang but a fizzle? Yeah, that was one wet fart of a fizzle. I don’t think they gave Jojo enough time to tell the story he really wanted to tell, so he had to cut it short, hence all the season 2 talk over on Twitter. Because let’s face it, that episode was just weird and disjointed. It was all over the place chasing its own tail, trying to tie up lose ends.

Also, I still don’t like Mew. He’s self righteous, holier than thou, and petty. Normally I like me a petty bitch, but not one that thinks they’re alway right and always the victim and never in the wrong.

I walked away from Only Friends disappointed in the writing and genuinely disliking characters more than I had at the beginning of the series, so yeah, just not good. I kind feel like I wasted my time.

Oh, and Boston deserved better! Fite me!

Sooo rambling here cause while it is tmnt related it doesnt exactly fit on my au blog. Its mostly musings and questions.

Firstly thinking about the turtles love languages and what they might be...partly inspired by seeing someone post about their aus version of donnies love language(s) and it got me thinking about it.

Moat versions of donnie seem to have gift giving/an act of service as their love language. I think we see this most, of the animated turtles specifically, with 2003 and Rise Donnie, correct me if im wrong, but the other Donnies still do this very often.

The mikeys seem to have physical touch as theit love language which is why they often are initating contact with their brothers. Its also why usually if the mikeys are huggers their usually the first to hug their brothers.

Unfortuantly I cant exactly pin point the leos and raphs , at least not well,because well admidedly I have a harder time getting into their heads. I have a little bit of what the leos might be but im not

I think some of the leos also have an act of sevice as their love language but not all of them? But I feel they have another love langauage as well.

If I have to take a shot in the dark for the raphs uhh I think it depends but a couple of raphs seem like words of afformation? Please note this is not a stable guess and what yall think about this all!

The next bits kinda pertain to rise specifically namely the ninpo. So it was floating around that apparently the writers intended for the ninpo/mystics the boys have to get stronger/more varried as time went on/they got older and im curious what people think those abilities might be. I have my own ideas and ill share what they are and why but they might be...underwhelming.

Please note this would be the good time line where no one lost their ninpo to the krang and they can all develop it as they get older.

Imma start with leo cause hes the one i was able to think of easily

Mass teleport with no portals. In the fight against shredder leos show to be able to telepodt without making portals first and even swapping with people and its been show he can still use his portals for long distance or group teleporting, or even delayed teleporting so instanious group teleportation doesnt seem too much a stretch.

Healing ngl I am a fan of medic leo, how ever I belive medic leo is more likely to happen after the events of the movie as before hand they seemed to heal fairly fast and may have not had majorly needed a medic nessisarly.

Water manipulation this is a bit...indulgent, my sister who I roll play with a lot and I have always associated the leos with the element of water soo....

Next imma gonna do Donnie

Tecnomancy- obviously donnies ninpo/mystics connect more with his liking of science and technology and his creativity. Being able to simply mentally connecr with and control technology would certainly be a step in the right direction I think. This would actually be the broad term to use and some other abilities I thought of certainnly fall under it.

Data collection- more or less he touches something technology based and any information it has kinda gets for lack of a better word "downloaded" into his brain.

Manipulation of tech- kinda taking already exsiting tech and uaing his ninpo to turn it into something else.

Electricity manipulation- zappy zapps...*cough* ok but in all seriousness being able to manipulate the electricity that powers his tech would help with the powers/flow of the tech.

Mikey

Err ngl a lot of mikeys abilities would probably be inspired by the movie because well yeah

Flight- was show to have at least levitation if not outght right flight in the movie.

Teleportation-seen in the movie as a mystic master

Fire manipulation- already shows shades od this by summoning fires with his nunchucks

Super speed-mikey is extreamly energetic and that could easily translate into this

Just magic just just magic what ever draxum could teach this kid

Raph...I dont got much

Barriers cause hes a protective older brother

Clones cause he was shown to be able to do that in the shredder fight even if we didnt see it in the movie

Maybe an elemental manipulation since his brothers also have those in their power listings

I look at raphs powers and ask myself how to work with this

....

Finally this is an in general thing uhh how does one write a fight scene im working on a fic for my tmnt aus and Im...just how do fight scene?

Okay so about YOU, let me spoil you then - I hope it'll sense made - in s4 Joe went to the UK started hanging out with insufferable posh people and "met" a guy named Reese (he was a writer and was running for Mayor of London). Turned out Reese was killing said posh twats and tried to frame Joe, became his stalker, wanted to be killing mates together (the Reese x Joe ship has sailed ajsuajahjsjsja). BUT! Lots of people noticed that during gatherings Joe was the only one who interacted with Reese and like we suspected - that whole thing was only in Joe's head cause he has split personality. So he basically dissociates and doesn't know what's going on. Reese was a real guy that Joe was obsessed with, but they never actually met and Joe was behind all the murders. Now that Joe accepted the truth and still wants to act like a saviour I feel even more icky about s5, he was always awful but his delusional monologues were funny. Now that he has a rich girlfriend and acts like a entrepreneur I'm like 😬😬😬😬🤚🏼

A short month no doubt, spent most of it drawing (I gonna try to finish those wips I swear). Anyway:

14.-Hazbin Hotel (season 1)

I'm not someone who enjoys negative ranting on media. But oh my god I didn't like this show. Thankfully I watched this along side my GF and my Bestie but still, it was quite dreadful getting through this show. The script was annoying. All of those parodies about Vivzie's shows are true, there's always a swear in most sentences. It stops being funny and it becomes annoying, cringe even. I don't get this show, is it a comedy or a genuine attempt of making a social commentary??? It tries to tell a story about redemption and the value of change, but it doesn't have the pay off nor the build up to excel imo. For most of the runtime, this show barely attempts to dive deep into the nuance of the characters, most of the time if there is nuance to be found. It later decides to either treat it as a joke or rush to no end, lacking the payoff expected for serious issues like sexual and psychological abuse. The visuals were also kinda sucky. It has a unique style no doubt. But everything blends together when there's so much color overlap and over designed characters with similar motifs and color palettes. Most of the songs are alright on their own, but in the show itself, I only enjoyed like half of them. Yeah this show wasn't for me, and the more I think about it, the angrier I get ngl.

. #15.-Kimi ni Todoke (season 1)

Love letter to shojo media (? One of my favorite shows rn, it's so comfy, yet it still pulls them punches with the drama when it needs to. Every character is so loveable and the humor is wholesome fun. I really like how it develops the characters thru meaningful interactions and moments that pushes these teens foward. I'm loving this show, quite excited for S3 later on this year :]

#16.-Sonic Frontiers (main game replay and update 2 content playthrough)

I still really like this game! Admitedly, its luster did shine off a bit now that it's been a while since the original release. This time more cracks became more noticeable to me, particularly the plot itself is rather empty and on a second playthrough it brings the game down a tad bit. The last section in Ouranos island is veryy weak plot wise, even though I had a blast with the gameplay. I still believe that this is a cleverly designed game, but I wished it had more production values behind it. By far the main aspect that will age the game later on. This game kinda lacks the visual aesthetic and presence that many other games in this franchise have. Not only that, the new additions like the jump acceleration kind of made some of the open zone sections kind of dry... I really look foward to the next mainline game, this game is still the best step in the right direction it could've been. The update 2 content was also really fun! I really like the action challenges and the new kokos were neat to get. I mightttt need another replay to abuse the spindash to hell and back, but I still need to finish new horizons as of writing.

#17.-Sonic Frontiers: Final Horizons update

Damn was this a mixbag. I'm a bit underwhelmed ngl. It wasn't bad, but it kinda pushed the game to its absolute limits, and not in a pleasant way. The unrefinement from the main game is in an all time high. The new island content and characters are ok. Amy is fine for the most part, doe I wish she was able to wall climb. Knuckles was so much fun and I hope they use this template for future appearances. And Tails' tornado was so broken that made his sections redundant. I think everyone but knuckles kinda show the issues with the open zone. You can skip so much of the platforming that it kinda robs you from the main draw of the game. The new cyberspace levels are really cool!! But I did not enjoy completing the extra missions, they made the experience far more frustrating and unpleasant, not only that but you hardly even need to engange with cyberspace, but i'll get to it in a second. The new mixes are nice and the new levels are pretty sick and fun to speedrun but I still feel like they don't benefit from the asset re-use and the weird jank the game has.

The tower challenges were a bit of a mixbag, the platforming got a bit obnoxious on tower 2 and 4 ngl, but I did enjoy the trials. Trial 5 is no doubt quite infamous, but I actually found it fun, I liked figuring out how to minmax my time defeating the titans. It kinda show how clunky the parry and the animations are however, and yet, it also made me appreciate the enemy design and the combat way more than I already did! Finally, we got a new final boss battle, and it was alright? The spectacle was nice, but after all the things I had to do to even get there, I'd rather have the original ouranos island section as easy and anticlimatic it might've been. The new added story wasn't that much different either, just a tad more flashy with a bit more involvement from the main cast. Overall it was an ok addition, but I wished I didn't spent that much time doing the extra missions and stuff, many of the parts of this update lacks the incentive I desired and at times, the payoff I expected. Which is why it felt underwhelming for me. I hope the next game is an improvement over final horizons, if this is going to be the main base for the forseeable future, then there's still work to be done.

#18.-Super Mario Bros (NES)

I'm starting to play more retro games as of lately since I really want to have more games that I can replay whenever I want a quick gaming session aside from Mega man and Sonic. So I'm want to try the 2D Mario games since admitedly, I was never a Mario guy (If you couldn't tell by my Sonic fanatism). 2D Mario has never grabbed my attention since it is rather vanilla and the "new super mario" series also left a very bad taste in my mouth just like everyone else growing up. Anyway, og super mario on NES was fun tbh. It is quite challenging for modern standards, but I found plenty to like tbh. The potential for further replays is hampered by those tight physics doe, I'm already playing SMB3 (I'm gonna skip 2 for the time being tbh) and I can already tell that the control was pretty tight in this first game. Hammer bros are really agressive too. I'm glad I'm finally beat this game, even though it cramped my hands like a MF bc I played this on a 3DS.

#19.-Kimi Ni Todoke (Season 2)

THIS WAS PRETTY GOOD, the drama got pretty interesting and it developed the characters extremely well. It has a ton of nuance that I want to rewatch and admire all over again ngl. Left extremely soft after watching it. Can't wait for season 3

Might start to do more stand alone posts from now on if I want to continue logging these opinions lol.

One thing I've come to a conclusion to is that the reason why some folks would dismiss criticism of movies with prominent black characters is because they are in a way not racist but because those criticisms would become a reason as to why black led movies won't be made today without some stereotype being dragged in.

Black Panther, it was being criticized because it was mid. It was in the line-up of the MCU and yeah, it was kinda underwhelming ngl. lt was fun, though. I will give it that. Most of the critics are usually the right-wing types, rare to see the left-wing types be more harsh towards them.

As a side note here, I'm starting to think that what The Critical Drinker means by nuanced is anything that doesn't explain racism by what it is. Discusses it in sociological terms and explores its implications in society moving forward. If that were present in a very thoughtful and carefully crafted story, he would dismiss it as woke, just saying.

Back to the black power crap, so there's black power movies which are black power crappy. Truly. It's just that those movies do have their flaws. Black Panther is one such movie. It was mid.

But the way the antis reviewed it was very, very hostile and borders on racist. I just can't really imagine why they'd do such a thing. There's explaining why Black Panther is an underwhelming film and there's why Black Panther sucked cause I'm racist.

So with that, I firmly believe that movies like Black Panther will have bad rep in the future. Truly sickening, in all honesty.

😐 overall: "when they say Best Ceviche in the DMV" THEY'RE NOT LYIN!!!! but umm the entrees were underwhelming. I'd give this place another try and order other dishes... but only for a special occasion. 😬

🍸 caipirinha - cachaça (sugarcane liquor) + muddled limes + sugar. brazil's national drink and pio pio's cocktail of the day for Wednesday! it was $7 instead of the usual $10 so I said why the hell not. the lime was strong and it pretty much tasted like sweet lemonade, which is dangerous 🤪

but turns out that they didn't fully dissolve the sugar; my last sips of the drink were full of undissolved sugar crystals ☹️ if I were to get this again, I'll def stir it.

🍸 chicha cooler - pisco + bacardi + malibu + chicha morada (peruvian purple corn drink), maracuya (passion fruit), pineapple juice. delicious. pretty sweet tho. the diced apple pieces on top were a nice touch and got a little boozy at the end of the drink :3c

this was my dining companion's drink but hell yea I'd order this again

🐟 ceviche clasico - nicely presented, and tasted as good as it looks! I havent had a plain fish ceviche in a while haha it kinda felt like eating sashimi. 🍣 every bite of fish (for $4 we upgraded from tilapia to mahi mahi) was sooo tender... virtually no connective tissue!!! I loved the contrasting textures of it combined with the soft sweet potato, starchy corn kernels, and cancha (toasted corn kernels). Best Ceviche in the DMV fr!!!

I'd get this again but simply close my eyes at the price tag 😌 that upgrade was totally worth it tho

seco de carne - this was a super hearty stew. this dish prob would've hit different in the winter haha we did NOT expect it to come with this much beans. for some reason I didn't particularly enjoy the taste of the stew itself 😕 it was almost... plain? idk. it said it was stewed with beer

this was my dining companion's dish but I wouldn't personally get it again. he prob wouldn't either cos he ate nothing after this dish and got food poisoning the next morning. he's kinda convinced it did him in.

🍝🥩 tallarin saltado w/ tenderloin steak - decided to switch it up from the lomo saltado that I was craving! the steak pieces were very tender and the onions were cooked just enough to still have a slight crunch. I enjoyed how big the onion slices were. the linguine tho... I understand the marinade was just soy sauce + vinegar + "some spices" but where were those spices tho???? it got boring to eat 🥲 flavor wasnt complex at all. I had hoped they maybe had a dry spice rub on the steak but I think they were also soy-marinated. overall everything was kinda flat. I'm a little disappointed ngl

I wouldn't get this again, but I'll try the separate elements in other dishes. if I get tallarin, I'll try it with pesto sauce! if I crave lomo saltado, I'll just get that!

Alright a small disclaimer though: In my experience, all of Cix's songs are growers. If you aren't feeling it initially, you will totally vibe after the next few listens.

Also, some of their songs are very heavy in the sense that the content can be rough, and perhaps a little angsty but I mean... Their meanings are pretty solid at least.

Let me start with their title tracks since, most of those are bangers ngl.

These aren't recommendations per se but I'll give you a sloppy description and you can probably gauge what might be worth listening to.

[the red and blue ones are the main ones that I'm technically recommending or they're my faves.]

Movie Star - It's sultry and kinda groovy; reminds me of lucid dream by aespa and some of vixx/sf9 songs. (one of my favorites for sure).

Jungle - straight banger, pretty moody though, somewhat slow bpm and is 100% a grower. the more I listened, the more things I noticed within the song that just accentuates the overall song.

Numb - the break at the chorus is pretty solid, not my first recommendation but can definitely be enjoyable if you like a mix of noisy sounds and what I'd describe as 'sleek' sounds lol.

My New World - This is their Japanese release and ... I'm starting to realize their overall sound tends to be smooth and steady... powerful sounds that make you feel like a main character that's trying to overcome some great evil. So that's the main essence of this song lmao.

Wave - pretty feel good, relaxed. Reminds me of the view by stray kids.

Off my mind - has as rich rythmic instrumental, pretty sultry/groovy sound. Nothing stand out but a solid song. The chorus has an engaging beginning.

Pinky Swear - Another Japanese release that is very wholesome and just feels like someone is telling you things will be alright.

Save me, Kill me - It makes me oddly nostalgic. It has this bittersweet sound to it. It's basically a tragic song but you can do a dramatic contemporary dance to it that would slay-

Bad Dream - I really like this one so much but again, it has that main character fighting their inner demons or something. It has the coolest break though. It's so like, 2010's club sound in a good way.

458 - banger, pretty moody as well, but gosh the chorus just GOES HARD ngl.

Tesseract - The ultimate movie song lmao. Picture someone walking in this vast desert-like terrain with a sword in hand, and then they plunge it into the ground causing shockwaves into the ground, absolutely annihilating the enemy in style. That's all I'll say.

Cinema - I really was underwhelmed with this initially but then I found myself humming the chorus. It has a light feeling to it. A simple song you can play in the background and it makes your chest less tight.

Okay, I think those are the title tracks.

Overall I'd recommend their album "'OK' Prologue : Be OK" just because it's a pretty solid glimpse into their discography OR their EP "HELLO Chapter 1: Hello, Stranger" jeez their names....

Then there are some that I find myself liking:

What you wanted - has some cool melodies. again, has a mix of sleek and noisy sounds. The chorus is sleek and the verses are what's noisy. Reminds me of Exo.

Like It That Way - Those chilled tropical vibes that were really popular a while back.

Move My Body - IT BANGS IDK WHAT ELSE TO PUT. It's the type of song that feels like a guilty pleasure. Like you play it at 3am and dance in your room but you won't outright play it for just anyone.

Black Out - Solid noisy goodness (It gives NCT 127 vibes)

Round 2 - It reminds me of Dean's music. Idk if it classifies as rnb but definitely has that laid-back vibe.

Overall the episode was okay. Had a few moments I liked, but it kinda brushed over some important things too fast. It feels more like a check list, like "let's quickly solve this problem and move on we only have 20 minutes", especially the part where it comes out that Alya lied to Marinette (that is a problem that quite a low of plot points tend to have).

I have some more thoughts about certain aspects but I'll discuss those later.

Thoughts on spies part 2? I loved the kacy scenes especially the shoe part but was honestly kinda disappointed by the episode it was very anti climatic.

I agree that I was underwhelmed by the episodes although I was a bit more interested in the second part, maybe because I liked seeing Jane's journey to being NCIS SAC? I think it's cuz thematically there was all this stuff about motherhood but I'm not sure what the ultimate message was?? And just generally, I wasn't super emotionally invested.

BUT I did love the #Kacy scenes!! Honestly, obsessed with the fact that Kate brought coffee and Lucy tried to bring coffee but spilled it on the way over 😂 Like, they complement each other!! Also, I know I'm always commenting on how amazing Lucy's hair looks (and it did in this episode too ngl 😍) but Kate's hair looked soooooo fucking good in that coffee scene?? And my hc is that she knew she was going to see Lucy on Saturday morning so she went to the salon the day before to get her hair done/blown out. Gotta look good for your girl even when you're fighting 😂😂😂 Anyway that scene was gold and many people have commented on the various facial expressions of the team upon Kate's entrance but specifically Ernie's smile--precious!!

But yeah, I liked how Kate is starting to be trusted by the NCIS team. I mean, I know they're skeptical, but I think Ernie and Jane already like her. That little moment when Kate asked Jane if she wanted to read Maggie's letter--idk, I liked that she did that and that Jane took it in stride even though she didn't want to read it.

And now we wait for like a month for the next ep???? !

omg lee mihoyo released 2.6 drip marketing 10 days earlier than usual i’m not okay—

idk might get controversial here: this is why i don’t heavily depend on fanarts of a character we never seen before because we tend to set our expectations so high that in the end, most of us will be like :///. i did want him to have a high ponytail but wow, he’s so pretty 😍😍😍.

anyway, fun fact: his design was inspired during the period when japan opened their borders (referencing to the abolishment of the vision hunt decree and maybe the sakoku decree. tbh, i think they completely forgot about it lol.), so it has some western/modern influence. i heard that a lot of people were disappointed is because there are little to no japanese elements on it, therefore kinda “bland”.

what i noticed is that raiden had similar reactions as well when her model was released. her design wasn’t well perceived at first because it’s too “simple” for an archon like herself to wear. our expectations were set so high from venti and zhongli. however, what got everyone sold was her kit aka the “booba sword”. so i’m hoping ayato have a cool kit as well to change that around~. i mean, i’m gonna pull for him either way but still.

i'm literally not okay either, my whole life is currently revolving around him like he is the sun. i think mhy did it since he was in that cutscene (though briefly) with ayaka so there wouldn't be any guessing who he was.

yeah ngl i was not disappointed with his design more underwhelmed. i think i really wanted him to have clothes similar to ayaka, but once we saw that cutscene leak (that's no longer a leak) i think i felt ok with his white suit. and now seeing his face fully, it looks just like i had imagined and i'm pretty happy that he doesn't have a long rat tail like zhongli or kaeya >.<

and YEAH i do think the storyline will focus on the abolishment of the sakoku decree since the people of inazuma themselves seem to be hesitant about lifting it. I'm fairly sure that the navy were some of the first to westernize (probably a connection to him being a hydro user and commander of what is technically a military group) and ayato's sleeves still having the kimono flow to it shows that he still is integrating inazuma into the western style. I'm pretty sure this is all to represent inazuma moving away from being a closed nation. though I do understand the disappointment.

even though I've read through countless leaks on ayato's skill set, I'm not even sure what to believe. I've seen that he might not be a sword user or he could possible be a stance switch character. but what really interests me is how he's holding a sword a lot like raiden did, as in same pose, and it's seemingly made out of water. i just hope he isn't similar to childe and is more of a main dps than an applicator or sub dps.

and yeah either way i will be pulling for him and his weapon just bc he <3

Nonetheless the rush I felt watching the few songs I felt like cryinf bc i missed them sm but man. no intro for bonds solo in soundcheck or that part he does for bob in pacifier it just felt weird

Yeah I kinda felt like the Soundcheck solo was a little underwhelming and that’s coming from ME a die hard bondy stan. But yeah like this was the first time I’d seen them all together doing a gig that wasn’t a video from years ago and I just sat and watched in awe and then the cut off really killed the mood and yeah it was a shame 😕
