37: Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

oooh. i think i have been extremely fortunate in transformers fandom in particular to have been kicking around enough that i've made a reputation and found an audience that knows and likes what i do enough to give things a shot and most things i post get engagement.

that being said. i know it doesn't have the old gay men but please look at my terrible son teenage son hot rod and his new best friends in dreamed of by chaos and by chaos born. guys this trio is so fun and i had a good time getting to go back to the cyberpunk fantasy worldbuilding for this young dumb prince on an adventure it's less than 3500 words and it's some solid comedy. i love the them.

45: What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic?

i've gotten way better at writing dialogue that reads like something someone would actually say and not just the kind of melodramatic dialogue that happens in stories. i've also, i would like to think, gotten a better grasp on character and how to write prose that reads smoothly. oh i've gotten WAY better at unreliable narration and third-person-close perspective and implying things under the story without stating them outright.

31. What’s your ideal fic length to write?

SO the funny story is I actually have done math for this. Usually I aim for 4k for stories. Totally Spyral! chapters are around 5k (fiends chapters were 10k. that was hard. XD)

32. What’s your ideal fic length to read?

Oh man I love a good juicy 5-10k. Generally I don't read things under 2k unless it's recced to me, and anything over 100k, I want to be sold.
