i know it’s been years and it’s basically irrelevant now but i genuinely love the green ninja prophecy if only for how much it must have tortured wu and garmadon. how long have they known it!! how did they find it, this script dooming them to forever be on opposing sides!! by the time morro rolls around, wu's spent most of his adult life with this looming over his head - this threat that there's some great evil out there that even their father didn't prevent, and then his brother leaves and adopts the very title that the prophecy foretold against. and then a ridiculously powerful elemental practically falls into his lap, with an uncanny command of his element without even unlocking his true potential, and with another threat already on the horizon (the serpentine) and the rest scattered (not to be brought together until years later), that was all he could do. it's been at minimum decades, at most centuries of the two of them having to carry this burden over their heads - of garmadon succumbing and of this unknown dark lord attacking. when do you think they made the connection. the wrong connection sure, but it makes sense. and it makes sense that years later, after wu is proven wrong and his brother returns to him and his son leaves him, and after his brother threatens to leave him again, he'd work backwards. collect the elementals, rebuild what he can of an alliance, and hope he's proven wrong again. and then kai steals his bag by accident and the rest is history.

"What if the South won the Civil Wa--"
BORING!!
The only Civil War alternate history worth caring about is, "What if they fixed the sewage issue that was contaminating the White House water supply and killing presidents?"
How does the country progress if William Henry Harrison gets a full term? How do we handle presidential succession with no Tyler Precedent established?
If Zachary Taylor doesn't die, is there no Compromise of 1850? If Taylor lives to push for more strident anti-slavery measures, does this delay war or start it sooner? Does he try a different compromise just to keep the Union together? Or does he push his own ideas so strongly that the South secedes? Imagine if the war starts ten years early with a firmly anti-secessionist Louisiana plantation owner (who until like two years ago was a highly successful general) in the White House. Is this a Robert E. Lee in reverse situation--a man having to choose the Union over his people? There's no way to know, and no one else cares, but for some reason I do.

I have an utterly horrifying theory regarding Aftermath:
I think Aftermath will be revealed as the Doomsday to the Transformers universe; basically an unstoppable super weapon that will force all of the Transformers to fight them at once or Earth will be destroyed.
Given we already have robot Galactus in the form of Unicron, and the Decepticons aren't really the super bad guys in Earthspark, my thoughts are that Aftermath is the big BIG bad of Earthspark season 2, possibly sent by the Quintessons or made by Mandroid to hunt down any dissenting Transformers, or possibly hunting for relics of the Prime and given we have like 2 on Earth that we know of, Aftermath is probably going to take a straight beeline to Pennsylvania, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Ohh no, oh no oh no oh no that's such an introduction to existence to have
Wasn't "new terrans but Something Is Wrong" on the fucked up things in Earthspark poll?
I feel like, considering the themes of Earthspark and the kids, things would end well for Aftermath. They sure as hell wouldn't start well in this scenario but they'd end well.
Eventually.

minor details, but in chapter 68 of trimax we do see this bit:
Tumblr media
the items that vash kept in his coat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a "funbari doll" (which i cant find anything definite online about what that is with just a cursory look, so im going to run under the assumption that theyre some kind of collectable in-universe) & it's a red one, which is apparently rare. he still has the same pen radio that connects to his earring that's used waaay back on the sandsteamer. a swiss army knife, a random key, a used tissue (?), and...
Tumblr media
a lighter? blow torch? i still cant tell what that last bar thing is tho. & i guess he had some kind of (normal) coin too? but Only One.
love the characterization implications for this lol. definitely the kind of pocket contents i'd expect from a silly immortal with a big coat

my only general predictions for jjk is that Yuuji will be able to target the different souls in Sukuna’s body to be able to reach Megumi’s suppressed soul and attack sukuna’s. Im actually interested in how this will all go down, especially with Higuruma in the mix, since these fights can’t be as simple as two overpowered characters with the loss of multiple special grade sorcerers. With the potential of a court trial domain or Yuuji’s knowledge of the soul, I imagine it’ll become more psychological or metaphysical in the fighting, with a lot of good insight into sukuna and/or yuuji, megumi, etc. As for Kenjaku, I have NO idea where their story is going (apart from Yuuta wanting to kill them), but i enjoy that part of the story being unpredictable—it fits their character

there is something about the way taissa is so shut off from herself that drives me insane. she doesn’t recognize what’s happening the first time she ever sleepwalks; is witnessed only by lottie, who doesn’t completely understand what she she saw, and who tai immediately dismisses. she has no understanding of the man with no eyes or the symbols on the trees, is blind to the path she herself follows (a trek toward meaning, toward power, toward a higher light). when she begins sleepwalking again for the first time in 25 years she doesn’t notice until what must be weeks (?) later; is witnessed only by sammy, who doesn’t completely understand what he’s seeing, and who she again immediately dismisses. all these moments of action and intention and knowing slipping through her hands like water in moments of unconscious. always missing out on so much of herself, always the most important parts.

Reading the OTGW comics again and
1) I am always delighted by "kids get to return freely to the Otherworld in dreams, once they've first won their way in and out again" 2) Fascinated by the boys' different experiences here. The comic's been following Greg, who's been skating through a number of harmless-to-him, extra-cartoonish experiences without Wirt... but Wirt has also been here, apparently getting thrown through a lot of senseless nightmare scenarios until the point where Greg finds him accomplishing an endless task because "if I don't do it I'll get cursed" (which... accepting that unquestioningly is kinda Wirt Logic, but it is much more just Dream Logic).
It's another glimpse of how the boys' differences in perception and mindset shape their interactions with the Unknown and also quite possibly the reality of the parts they interact with. (Which we also see in that one comic where they retell an adventure from their different perspectives.) The Unknown IS real, and exists apart from them, but is ALSO the land of their dreams and is affected by them! Especially in this story, when they're approaching it through the liminal space of sleep/dreams instead of the liminality of a near-death experience!
(Also something something about how Greg showing up and going "Hmm. this doesn't seem right, Wirt" is what frees Wirt from his nightmarishly-pointless task, and about how their reunion was directly prefaced by Greg meeting an obstacle and going "Hm I wish Wirt was here. HE'D know what to do :/" They need each other to strike a balance in their approaches to the world! They find a path through the Unknown by mingling their perspectives!)
