i really like how, even as characterized peter is by being the Fool to jason's Coward, peter is not necessarily fearless. he has stress dreams abt homophobia, where his mom knows and is heartbroken and blames his gayness for the divorce, where he's attending his own funeral, where his classmates have known all along and are shunning him for it... but peter responds to this fear by wanting to tell his mom, where jason responds to these same fears (his future being impacted, his father beating the shit out of him, losing his social status) with assimilation, or trying to run away. peter meets his fears where they're at, and jason tries to make it so he's not a target for his fears. idk

So work was fine today. We had to clear out another chupacabra nest and relocate an earth elemental that some irresponsible wizard summoned into the middle of town, so pretty standard day. 

And then the end of the work day comes around, and we’re talking about going out for drinks and this tall, broad shouldered, unbelievably hot woman pulls up on a motorcycle dressed in black leather and stops in the middle of the sanctuary parking lot and waves at Chandra. And Chandra says “That’s my girlfriend, Coraline,” and waves her over to come talk with us. Coraline puts down her kickstand and dismounts her bike in the coolest way ever and walks over, and Chandra introduces all of us and I’m spending the whole time feeling like an idiot because Chandra has a new girlfriend before me and she’s way, way too awesome. 

I’m writing this on the way to the bar, riding with Leroy and Rob while Chandra rides on the back of Coraline’s bike, and fuming. I know I’m being petty, but dammit why did Chandra get to find someone before I did?
