Florida health authorities officially revoked the license of a Pensacola abortion facility Tuesday after state health authorities said three women nearly died from botched abortions.
The American Family Planning has been closed since May when the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration suspended its license for “endangering the health, safety and welfare” of its patients. State health officials said the abortion facility had hundreds of safety violations, the worst involving nearly killing three women in botched abortions within a span of nine months.
The new order from the Division of Administrative Hearings permanently revokes its license and stops anyone with direct or indirect ownership of the abortion facility from ever applying for another abortion license in Florida.
Additionally, health officials fined the abortion facility $343,200, according to the Tampa Free Press.
Initially, the abortion facility appealed its license suspension; however, the two parties reached an agreement and a judge dismissed the case Jan. 6, according to the News Journal.
The abortion facility is connected to notorious abortionist Steven Chase Brigham, who has lost his license to practice medicine in several states. Operation Rescue reported seeing Brigham at the facility as recently as May 2020. It is not clear if Brigham was the one who performed the three recent botched abortions.
Within a nine-month period, state health officials said three women nearly died from abortion complications at the facility: one required resuscitation, another had parts of her colon removed and a third needed an emergency hysterectomy, the News Journal reported last year.
The three women’s cases are disturbing. State health officials said one woman had to be hospitalized in August 2021 and had parts of her colon removed after her uterus was perforated in a botched abortion. Another woman was found with “pools of blood on the floor” around her, according to their investigation.
In the case of the third woman, the abortion facility failed to monitor her vital signs when it gave her drugs and told her to wait in her car until the abortion procedure, according to the state health officials. Mid-abortion, the abortionist lacerated her cervix and possibly ruptured her uterus and had to stop the procedure, the report continues.
Rather than take her to the local hospital in Pensacola, the abortion staff told the woman’s husband to drive to a hospital in Mobile, Alabama, the health officials found. At the Mobile hospital, the woman had to be resuscitated after emergency room doctors found that she did not have a pulse, the state report continues. She also received a blood transfusion to “replace egregious blood loss,” according to the state health officials.
The Florida health agency also reported hundreds of other violations, including failing to document patients’ consent or follow the 24-hour waiting period.

Joe Biden will sign legislation protecting access to abortion care into law if Democrats win control of Congress in midterm elections this fall.
In remarks to a Democratic National Committee event on 18 October, the President announced plans to sign a bill to codify Roe v. Wade protections on the 50th anniversary of the US Supreme Court decision – what he intends to be his first act of 2023.
In June, the nation’s high court struck down precedents established by Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey that affirmed the constitutional right to abortion care.
Following the latest ruling, more than a dozen states have outlawed most abortions or severely restricted access to care, leading to the closures of dozens of clinics. Patients and providers across the US have warned of devastating consequences to losing access to legal abortion, while Democratic officials have made abortion rights central to their midterm campaigns as Republicans mull national abortion restrictions.
“If Republicans get their way with a national ban, it won’t matter where you live in America,” Mr. Biden said on Tuesday. “The only sure way to stop these extremist laws that have put in jeopardy women’s health and rights is for Congress to pass a law.”
Democrats would need to pick up several seats in the currently evenly split US Senate for abortion protections to prevail.
Mr. Biden also said he will veto any anti-abortion legislation passed by a Republican-controlled Congress.
The Democratic-led House of Representatives passed the Women’s Health Protection Act earlier this year, though Senate Republicans have repeatedly obstructed its introduction in that chamber. That bill would codify the right to abortion care as affirmed by Roe v. Wade.
House Democrats were only joined by three Republicans to pass the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, which would protect the right of abortion patients who live in states that have outlawed or severely restricted care to travel to other states without risking prosecution or legal action in their home states.
The bill also would protect providers and others who help patients travelling out of state for their care.
Legislation would also shield interstate shipments of US Food and Drug Administration-approved drugs used for medication abortion, the most common form of abortion care, accounting for more than half of all abortions in the US.
In a briefing with reporters on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called Republican-led abortion restrictions “disturbing” and “very dangerous.”
“It’s backwards, again, it’s dangerous and it’s severe, in stark contrast to the President and the commitment that he has to leave these decisions between a woman and her doctor,” she said.
This fall, voters in several states will determine whether their state constitutions include explicit protections for abortion care, while elections for control of state legislatures, governors’ offices and secretaries of state will also determine the fates of abortion access across the US.
In his remarks on Tuesday, President Biden pointed to Kansas voters shooting down a recent anti-abortion ballot measure in that state, signalling the electoral consequences of the Supreme Court’s decision in midterm elections.
“One of the most extraordinary parts of [the Dobbs decision] was when the majority wrote, ‘women are not without electoral or political power.’ Let me tell you something – the Court and extreme Republicans who have spent decades trying to overturn Roe are about to find out,” he said.

Big news of the morning, which I first heard on NPR's Up First (2/21/24), but here's a text version from APNews:
The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that frozen embryos can be considered children under state law, a decision critics said could have sweeping implications for fertility treatment in the state.
Alabama already outlaws abortion at any point in the pregnancy with no exceptions save for life of the mother, but this goes a step further, and introduces the term "extrauterine children."
Ironically, this came from a lawsuit about destroyed embryos at a fertility clinic, but rather than just ensuring the prospective parents can sue for wrongful death that the embryos were killed (someone broke in, the clinic was not at fault), this law may actually result in mass closures of fertility clinics across Alabama.
Current standards for IVF involve harvesting as many eggs at once as possible, and fertilizing them all to raise the chances of implantation with successive rounds of IVF (in case it doesn't take the first time), and then remaining embryos are frozen for if/when the couple wants their next child, and once the couple decides they're done, the embryos are destroyed to free up space for more clients. The new ruling would force them to keep embryos frozen forever, or be sued for wrongful death, which they can't afford, so many are saying they may close their doors instead.

You do realize planned parenthood isn't the only source of abortion clinics right? It's entirely possible for 26 abortion clinics to shut down while no planned parenthood clinics got shut down. So yeah you made a "completely ridiculous claim that’s easily debunked by a 2 second google search."
Yes I do realize that and unfortunately there isn’t a list stating what clinics have shut down so I’m just using the information I can find out there.
But I did not make a completely ridiculous claim that’s easily debunked by a a 2 second google search. The claim I made was that Planned Parenthood clinics shut down or move locations when they aren’t able to provide abortions or aren’t performing enough abortions. I did not make any claims about them shutting down after the overturning of roe.
But they do shut down or move when they aren’t providing enough abortions
(This is post roe btw)

The largest Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Iowa’s capital city closed its doors to the joy of pro-lifers who have long worked and prayed that the death mill end its baby-killing industry.
In a statement to LifeSiteNews after the pro-life victory, Maggie DeWitte, executive director of Pulse Life Advocates (PLA), founded in 1972 and now one of the longest standing pro-life organizations in Iowa, celebrated the closure and called for renewed efforts to end all abortions in the state. DeWitte said:
We are overjoyed at the closing of the Planned Parenthood clinic on the southside of Des Moines. Pulse Life Advocates, Iowa’s longest-standing, statewide, pro-life organization, has organized hundreds of prayer...

I totally understand the hate thrown towards the DNC, who seems to struggle with articulating why voting blue no matter who will fix this when they have a majority hold on the government, but it does actually matter who gets into office. Voting does matter. GOP lawmakers keep researching and legislating new voter suppression concepts to push blue voters out with "almost surgical precision" because it matters.
Now more than ever you SHOULD vote, you SHOULD pay attention to your local elections SPECIFICALLY. You genuinely may not realize how deeply anti-abortionists have rooted themselves in your area. Abortion accessibility was being targeted and restricted before Roe v Wade was overturned. Local politicians were nickel and dimeing abortion providers out of existence before Friday. This chart is almost a decade old:
Tumblr media
And from that same 2013 link:
While some of the 54 closures were due to unrelated factors, the states that have lost the most clinics over the past three years are the same ones that have seen draconian new abortion restrictions and the biggest cuts to family planning funding. In Texas, which has lost nine clinics, lawmakers have slashed family planning funding in the state budget, required abortion clinics to become ambulatory surgical centers and required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a local hospital. Arizona lawmakers passed similar legislation and pushed out a total of 12 providers; the state had 18 abortion clinics in 2010 and now has only six, according to NARAL Pro-Choice Arizona.
I lived in northern Virginia - a consistently blue area! I assumed that Planned Parenthood was safe in a liberal domain. I learned of its closing years after the fact. It happened before 2016.
Tumblr media
While senators hem and haw about codifying roe v wade, your city and county officials may be working double time to anticipate and counter them. Living in a blue area does not guarantee you are immune to this. Please know who runs your city and what their intentions are - it impacts you and that matters!

Sexually transmitted diseases rise where abortion clinics closed in Iowa - Axios Des Moines
Defunding abortion clinics in Iowa resulted in a reduction of STD and STI services being available, possibly contributing to increased infections, the report says.
Of note: The lead author of the paper, Megan Srinivas, is a Democrat who recently won an Iowa House seat representing Des Moines.
Flashback: In 2017, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland announced it was closing clinics in Bettendorf, Burlington, Keokuk and Sioux City after the Iowa Legislature passed a bill that blocked public money from going to abortion providers, the Register reported.
Those clinics combined saw more than 14,600 patients over a three-year period.
State of play: The study examined chlamydia and gonorrhea cases between Iowa counties that did and didn't close their clinics.
While there was an increase in infections statewide over that time period, gonorrhea rates doubled post-closures in the four counties.
The bottom line: Beyond clinic closures, a variety of factors have led to a surge in STD and STI rates nationwide, including decreased condom usage and increased needle sharing during the opioid crisis.

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Five Planned Parenthood locations in Vermont and New Hampshire are closing next month.
Those locations are in Hyde Park, Bennington, St. Albans, Middlebury and Claremont, New Hampshire. They will close on June 12.
Planned Parenthood provides services like STI testing, birth control, cancer screenings and, most notably, abortion services.
With five clinics closing in Vermont and New Hampshire next month, people say they hope it’s not a trend.
“They’ll be coming to New York or going to other places and maybe not be safe,” said Joanne Lincoln, a New Yorker who visits Vermont frequently.
Nicole Clegg, a spokesperson for the organization, says the closures are to protect their sustainability. She cited staffing shortages, political divisiveness and underfunding.
“When we were looking at which health centers to expand and which would be closing, we looked at geography,” Clegg explained. “We looked at distance to make it somewhat manageable for folks.”
Clinics in Barre, Brattleboro and Williston in Vermont; Exeter, New Hampshire; and in Sanford, Biddeford and Topsham, Maine, will be expanding their hours over the course of the next year. Some say that isn’t enough.
“I live in North Troy. I live an hour and a half away from Burlington. That means I need to drive 45 minutes or an hour to get to a Planned Parenthood,” said one woman who uses their services. “That means other women are going to have to travel farther in order to get the health care they need and maybe they don’t have the resources to drive.”
Even with the closures, there will still be 15 Planned Parenthood clinics in northern New England. They’re also preparing for an influx of out-of-state patients if Roe v. Wade gets overturned.
“The exciting thing is we have telehealth, so many patients can stay with us through the telehealth program, get their birth control and prescriptions filled and access the level of care they need,” Clegg said.
She adds they’re still accepting new patients in person and via telehealth, as well as working with current patients to make sure they have a clinic.

BANNING ABORTIONS ONLY BANS SAFE ABORTIONS
BANNING ABORTIONS ONLY BANS SAFE ABORTIONS
BANNING ABORTIONS ONLY BANS SAFE ABORTIONS
BANNING ABORTIONS ONLY BANS SAFE ABORTIONS
I cannot stress this enough, and felt like I had to write about it, the absolutely horrific ways people would once again have to turn to so to not be forced to give birth.
(TW: talk about unsafe abortion and its complications)
The overturning of Roe v. Wade has had me disgusted in a number of ways, and to say our SCOTUS is an abomination is an understatement.
But I’ve said this to others in my life OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, and will continue to say it.
Banning abortions will never stop abortions, only safe ones. It will no-doubt raise the amount of deaths while giving birth, deaths from unsafe abortions, and likely, suicides.
So let’s talk about a world without legal, safe abortions shall we? Let’s talk about this terrifying, yet possible future that’s more like taking steps into the past.
I’m sure we all know at least a bit about unsafe abortions. Your mind likely goes to the use of metal clothes hangars, or maybe your mind goes straight to a scene of some Edwardian drama, people making money giving back-alley abortions using an array of horrifying tools in unimaginably painful procedures. And it isn’t some made up story, these are pages in our history books written in blood.
And, while access to safe abortions has risen greatly in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade was put into place in 1973 (along with strides in many other countries), we can still see the affects of outlawed abortion in numerous places around the world today, current examples of what will happen if people continue to lose access to safe abortions in this country.
Some facts:
It is estimated that nearly 25 million unsafe abortions take place annually.
Source: Ganatra B, Gerdts C, Rossier C, Johnson Jr B R, Tuncalp , Assifi A, Sedgh G, Singh S, Bankole A, Popinchalk A, Bearak J, Kang Z, Alkema L. Global, regional, and subregional classification of abortions by safety, 2010–14: estimates from a Bayesian hierarchical model. The Lancet. 2017 Sep
97% of these unsafe abortions take place in developing countries, where safe abortions are not legal.
Unsafe abortion is believed to result in at least 22,800 deaths and millions of injuries annually.
Source: Grimes DA, Benson J, Singh S, Romero M, Ganatra B, Okonofua FE, Shah IH (November 2006). "Unsafe abortion: the preventable pandemic" (PDF). Lancet. 368 (9550): 1908–19. doi:10.1016/S0140-6736(06)69481-6. PMID 17126724. S2CID 6188636.
Unsafe abortions are one of the top 5 main causes of maternal death.
Source: Say L, Chou D, Gemmill A, Tunçalp Ö, Moller AB, Daniels JD, et al. Global Causes of Maternal Death: A WHO Systematic Analysis. Lancet Global Health. 2014;2(6): e323-e333.
Around the world, there’s numerous examples of what happens when AFAB people have no right to choose. Abortions aren’t stopped, only the safe ones. THIS is one of the biggest parts pro choice people are so afraid of with the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Because, if the states continue to outlaw abortion, continue to force the closure of clinics, this result is inevitable. There will be a rise of unsafe abortions in this country, PEOPLE WILL DIE.
The possible, and very common, complications of unsafe abortions are horrific.
Some medical complications of unsafe abortion:
infection —Unsafe abortions most often involve instruments that aren’t meant for the human body and are absolutely not sterile, such as a medical instrument would need to be. Bacteria entering the body in such a way could easily cause an infection and lead to sepsis, inflammation throughout the body triggered by chemicals released in the bloodstream to fight infection. This is a deadly complication, and even if you survive, it can leave you with complications like kidney failure, gangrene, brain damage, future immune system issues, and much more.
damage to the vaginal canal, uterus, bowels, bladder and urinary tract, and other organs (resulting in hemorrhage) —The use of a sharp instrument inserted into the vaginal canal has numerous risks and in every circumstance INCREDIBLY dangerous. This practice often leads to damage of the vaginal canal and organs in the area, such as the uterus (uterine perforation), bladder and urinary tract, and bowels. Along with complications that come with the general damage of important organs, such as urinary incontinence, this leads to hemorrhage (blood loss).
infertility. — The damage to the reproductive organs from the process of the procedure itself, along with damage to the body caused by infection and sepsis, can lead to infertility. —While there are many people that undergo an abortion who may never want biological children, an unsafe abortion may very likely take away any choice to have a biological child in the future where a person is prepared to financially, mentally, etc… Losing the choice to have a safe abortion will also lead to the loss of the choice to have a biological child in the future for many, leaving a further psychological impact, that the procedure and its complications would already have on a person.
When you look at these facts, and read stories from the past, it really hits you how disgusting our leaders and judiciaries trying to rid us of this choice are, and how they LIE. They create a narrative that “it’s for the children,” they march around harassing those who’ve received an abortion or are planning to calling themselves pro-life, thinking they’re some kind of vigilantes, some kind of heroes. And yet, once a child is born to someone who isn’t prepared to care for that child, they’re gone. They don’t give a shit about children once they end up in foster care or live in poor circumstances. And they aren’t pro-life, not one bit, they are pro birth. They are pro control.
They SCOTUS and our leaders that support their decision know exactly what this will lead to, they aren’t fucking stupid or naïve. They’re fucking fascists to want to be able to control our bodies. They know that the ban of safe abortions would kill numbers of living, breathing people, they know this, and don’t fucking care, and blood will be on their hands.
One of the things that’s so heartbreaking about the attack on safe abortions is that we were finally at a point where we’d come so far with abortion rights. The generations that came before Roe fought for these changes, those who’d lived to see the affects of forced pregnancies and unsafe abortions in this country. A generation fighting for the generations before even them, with their only choice being procedures of unfathomable pain and risk. They fought because they knew what it was like, they lost loved ones, maybe experienced it themselves.
And the stories from before, of those with no other choice but an unsafe abortion, and the knowledge that this would be the reality once again if safe abortions are banned, is what drives younger generations, post Roe generations to fight for choice.
And unsafe abortions, the horrid risks that so many had to take in the past, despite seeming like some horrible plot of a drama, right out of Handmaid’s Tale, it’s all real, and it wasn’t rare. Too many stories, too many lost. And it’s terrifying, knowing that this can happen again, we can’t let it.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A demonstration planned by a Roman Catholic diocese in Kansas that would have blocked the only entrance to a Wichita abortion clinic on Saturday was canceled after a judge put a hold on the city permit that would have allowed it.Earlier this year, the Catholic Diocese of Wichita was granted a permit through the city's Parks and Recreation and police departments to close the street in front of the Trust Women clinic, the Wichita Eagle reported. The diocese had planned to hold a “Mass for Life” demonstration Saturday morning that would have blocked the entrance to the clinic while leaving open the entrance to another clinic on the street that seeks to dissuade people from getting abortions.A judge on Friday granted a request for a temporary restraining order until the Wichita City Council holds a hearing to address objections to the street closure from the Trust Women clinic and another nearby business. The clinic is normally closed for business on Saturdays but sometimes opens for appointments on weekends, as well as works on administrative and cleaning tasks on Saturdays, the Eagle reported.Operators of the Trust Women clinic said they learned of the planned street closure last month and filed an objection with the city. When no hearing was called to address objections to the permit, the clinic sought the restraining order. The legal battle comes more than a year after Kansas voters decisively affirmed abortion rights in the conservative state.Wichita has often served as the epicenter of conflict over abortion rights. The Trust Women Clinic was founded by George Tiller, a Wichita abortion provider who was shot to death in 2009 by an anti-abortion extremist.

Abortion Clinics Shouldn’t Have to Stand Alone
Abortion Clinics Shouldn’t Have to Stand Alone
Today, almost all — 96% — abortion procedures take place in clinics, not in hospitals or doctor’s offices. And many of those clinics are closing. Data from the Abortion Care Network estimate that the number of independent clinics in the US fell 35% over the last 10 years and that the pace of closure doubled in 2022, after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade. That has put…

Abortion Clinic Closures Double After End of Roe v. Wade
Abortion Clinic Closures Double After End of Roe v. Wade
Twice as many abortion clinics closed this year compared to last, following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade. As of November, 42 independent clinics had closed this year, most of which were in the South and Midwest. That’s up from 20 in 2021, according to a Tuesday report from Abortion Care Network, an association of community-based abortion providers. Independent clinics…

Ya miss this part of the ask "all of the others that closed down were due to government funding to the non-profit organization being severely slashed" or something? Cause that's the part that squarely debunks your argument that they shut down due to lack of abortions. Which none of your sources even hinted at let alone outright said. It's the same with how your claim that PP has abortions as their main source of revenue and your source doesnt say that and shows abortions not being #1 service.
Tumblr media
Ok, this is the last time I'm responding to any messages stating "durrrr pp doesn't close because of lack abortions they close because lAcK oF fUnDiNg haha DeBuNkEd." I can provide sources for you but I'm not going to read them to you and if you lack the brain cells to put two and two together, which you apparently do, then you're just too dumb for this conversation.
But the only reason I'm responding to this is not for you idiots who sent the messages and cannot for the life of you read a source and glean any information other than what they point blank tell you and will just repeat your same brain dead arguments regardless of what information is provided for you, this is for people who might be interested in this information and can use their heads and understand what's going without an article stating verbatim "this Planned Parenthood closed because of lack of abortions." I don't know how you idiots made it through grade school with such shit processing skills.
The anon this first idiot claims "squarely debunks my argument"
Misrepresented my argument
Stated an objectively false claim about one of the clinics, proving they cannot read or did not read the article
and they expect me to take them seriously and just pretend their criticisms are valid and debunk the sources.
So the one this anon thinks is super intelligent and "squarely debunked my argument" claimed a Steamboat Springs PP clinic that closed did not provide abortions. And that is a blatant lie.
This very article was in the post they were criticizing. They had easy access to it so there is no excuse for making that bullshit claim and expecting to be taken seriously. And, as it clearly states here: "Planned Parenthood in Steamboat never offered surgical abortions but was able to help with pharmaceutical avenues."
It is a LIE to say they don't provide abortions when they help provide pharmaceutical abortions. They didn't provide surgical abortions but pharmaceutical abortions are still abortions.
And why, if they didn't provide abortions, are the people who oversaw the clinic bemoaning the loss of abortion care in the area with the closure of the clinic? Now the anons who sent these messages can't decipher that on their own because they need articles to explicitly state what something means in order to understand written language, but for people who possess the ability to think, it's pretty obvious that they did, in fact, provide abortion.
Now let's talk about the "LaCk Of FuNdInG" argument these idiots think is completely separate from Planned Parenthood's willingness or ability to provide abortions.
This is one of the articles I linked in the post these anons are responding to. It states "funding challenges" as the reasons these clinics closed. Notice these clinics are in Washington State. They specifically cite "medicaid reimbursements" as the biggest issue.
Now, if we look at this source of state funding of abortion under medicaid from Guttmacher, we can see that Washington state, where these clinics are located, voluntarily funds all or most "medically necessary" abortions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it appears they might be possibly be having trouble funding abortions. I know the anons can't make that connection, but most people should be able to. "Funding issues" and their abortion providing issues aren't always separate issues.
And, also, how convenient that of all the sources I gave of Planned Parenthood closures, you picked the one article that didn't directly mention changes to abortion laws among the reasons for their closing and pretend that debunks the entire point.
Like these clinics in Iowa
Or these in New England
This clinic in Idaho
Or this one
Or these
And recently, more in Iowa.
And since you'll care so much about whether the closings were pre or post the overturning of roe v wade (although this qualification was something you'll straw manned and never part of my claim) here's a NYT article, published about a week ago, reporting that "dozens of abortion clincs (which we discover are going to be Planned Parenthoods) have closed since the overturning of Roe (I'm aware not all of them closed, but some did).
So even if I relented with that one article they chose to highlight and said "ok since they didn't specifically mention abortion we can take that article out of consideration" it doesn't "squarely debunk my argument" because the other articles still exist and they are from the same post. So a challenge on one article doesn't debunk all the others like you idiots seem to think.
Anyway, make of that what you will but I am NOT going to respond to another message that consists of anything similar to "hurr durr I am ignoring the sources, didn't read them, or lying about them or I think I found one issue so you're DeBuNkEd."
And for you other idiots, whose asks I will not be publishing, who are dumb enough to think that if lack of abortion provision causes some Planned Parenthoods to shut down then the reversal of Roe V Wade should have seen clinics closing "immediately" you're just exposing, yet again, how incredibly ignorant pro-aborts are. The overturning of Roe v Wade did not make abortion illegal. It is still legal accessible throughout the country so your premise is wrong because you don't know what you're talking about. And if even the overturning had made abortion illegal, the closures still wouldn't have been immediate you numbskull. There's hundreds of Planned Parenthoods across the country and closures would not happen over time. It would take several months or even a couple of years. So you're stupid.
Tumblr media
I hope this helps serves as a reminder to how incredibly dishonest and how embarrassingly ignorant you have to be to support abortion. These sad pathetic individuals think they know everything but they know nothing.

Planned Parenthood: Brief History
Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization providing reproductive healthcare, education, and advocacy in the USA and globally.
In 1916, Margaret Sanger would found the first birth control clinic in the United States in Brooklyn, NY. in 1921, she would found the American Birth Control League. The ABCL would later transform and become Planned Parenthood.
PP is the single largest provider of reproductive health services in the USA and has also been a pivotal name in the fight for abortion and birth control access since the turn of the twentieth century. Research has shown that major closures of Planned Parenthood clinics lead to increases in maternal mortality rate.
PP has a very troubled and intense history so I would suggest looking more deeply into the manys leaders and stances they have taken over the years. This is the briefest introduction.
