The AZ Senate had the votes to repeal the ban last week, so a repeal seems likely. While this would simply put a newer 15w ban in place, this is an immediate benefit to a lot of people who are pregnant and don't want to be, and an indication that the GOP is unable to stand in the face of how pissed off people are.
If you live in AZ, especially, but even if you don't, you need to read the whole article, bc I guarantee that the GOP where you live is going to try to pull bait-and-switch tactics similar to those being tried in AZ, where a pro-reproductive-freedom item is on the ballot. GOPers there are going to try to confuse the vote into failure.

When people talk about it being normal and safe to take birth control that prevents periods I make faces.
I don't think introducing foreign hormones that disrupt your reproductive system to the point it cannot go through it's natural cycle is all that healthy.
Doesn't seem like a "I need a study" sort of thing. Just a realization that you probably shouldn't use chemicals and hormones to interrupt natural systems your body has.

Live updates: Supreme Court arguments on emergency room abortions
In today's Supreme Court hearing on a Biden administration challenge to aspects of Idaho’s strict abortion ban, US Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar put forward arguments seeking to appeal to conservative justices who just two years ago ruled that states should have the ability to prohibit the procedure.
The dispute, stemming from the Justice Department’s marquee response to the high court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade in 2022, turns on whether federal mandates for hospital emergency room care override abortion bans that do not exempt situations where a woman’s health is in danger but her life is not yet threatened.
Prelogar argued that there was a real conflict between Idaho’s law and the federal statute, known as the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, but she painted its as a narrow one. She stressed that, in this case, the administration is not trying to interfere with Idaho’s ability to criminalize abortions outside of the medical emergencies addressed by EMTALA.
Key votes: To prevail, the Biden administration will need the votes of two members of the court’s conservative bloc, and with Justice Brett Kavanaugh signaling sympathies towards Idaho, the case will likely come down to the votes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett.
The two justices had tough questions for both sides of the case. The court’s far-right wing, perhaps in attempt to bring those swing justices to their side, framed the case as a federal overreach into state power.

Favorite part of seeing a new doctor: when they ask about birth control
Doctor: Sexually active?
Me: I'm over 35 and have a toddler, so we'll say yes but it's really more of an aspirational thing.
D: Hormonal birth control?
M: No.
D: Are you trying to get pregnant?
M: Ha, no, once was more than enough.
D: Barrier method?
M: Just the aforementioned toddler, so no.
D: If you don't want to get pregnant, you really should be using some form of birth control.
M: Oh, I am. I find that the absence of fallopian tubes is extremely effective.
D: o___o checks my record Oh. Right.
M: >:-}

@/kittiearie on tiktok wrote this caption on her video: "When the sundown sisters' feminism is being upset Margot Robbie wasn't nominated for an Oscar but silent on how women and girls in Palestine don't have access to pads, tampons, contraceptive pills and other hygeine products while mothers are having their children without anesthetics."
some of white western feminist advocacy boils down to viewing issues (problematically so) as one-dimensional. their praxis never includes reflexivity, accountability, and intersectionality; while they ensure that their OWN reproductive health rights are never threatened, they vastly ignore so many people suffering in the world just because it doesn't directly impact them -looking at their priorities is just always so shameless and despicable.

Just to emphasize: Mike Johnson is an antivaxxer, an anti-abortion forced bither, he believes the job of poor women is to give birth to an infinite supply of low wage jobseekers, he is a climate change denier, he wants to cut Social Security + Medicare + Medicaid, and he’s a “Trump won!” Republican. And House Republicans just unanimously voted for him as Speaker of the House.
Please take note: there are no “moderates” in the Republican Party.

how do you find/buy sex stuff? I'm sure there are websites, but I don't even know where to start. What would be safe and reputable? Do you have any suggestions, or advice on picking something "good"? Also thank you for opening your asks for stuff like this.
okay, so here's the shake:
I personally believe that you can buy decent sex toys anywhere, providing that:
The listing is honest about the product's materials
You know what to look for
Silicone, glass, and metal are the safest materials you can use. They're the least reactive with natural bodily chemicals and are the least likely to give you problems.
SILICONE: Not 'silicon'- silicon is NOT SILICONE. Slicone solids are never 100% transparent and might, MIGHT appear translucent and foggy at the clearest. Silicon might be shiny OR matte, but if it's matte please know that velvet or soft-touch coatings are most often non-silicone materials added after the toy itself is molded. This is usually fine, but if you know your body is sensitive to that, one brand I know has the texture built into the mold is Fun Factory. It's pricy, but it's high quality and comes with a warranty.
NEVER ASSUME AN ITEM IS SILICONE UNLESS THE ITEM IS DESCRIBED AS SILICONE.
GLASS: Tempered glass is usually fine. If you notice chips, cracks, or hairline fractures in it, bag it up and throw it out.
Metal: Same story. Chipping, flaking, cracks, oxidization, toss it. Acrylic toys with metallic coatings will degrade in contact with oils, unlike actual metal, so be sure to check materials.
People shit on sites like Adam & Eve and Pinkcherry, and yeah those are cheap stores that dont sell the best stuff, but they still have LOADS of good quality product and do frequent sales and clearouts if you're nervous and not looking to drop a lot of cash right off.
If you can afford it, brands I absolutely recommend are Womanizer, Fun Factory, Hitachi (now owned by Vibratex), Tom of Finland, Sinvention, and We Vibe. They're all high-quality and most have warranties for damage or malfunction.
On the cheaper end, Calexotics, Doc Johnson, Evolved, and Ouch!.
Websites like Bad Dragon, Extreme Restraints, and Sinvention are known to have good customer service and high-quality products.
Websites like Adam and Eve, Pinkcherry, and Lovehoney I've heard good reviews for, you just need to be careful about what you buy.
I've yet to encounter a legit site that isn't discrete, btw. Everything is usually sent out in boxes.
Please avoid AliExpress. You CAN buy there, but I don't trust that shit
