i’ve been watching my friend play p5 royal for a bit now and i’ve decided that it’s the ideal way to play p5 not because of any story changes or what have you, but because you can unlock isanagi-no-ookami (the god final persona from p4) for basically free at any level and then just myriad truths your way through the rest of the game and it’s the funniest thing in the world

#space rambles #persona 5 royal #we realized this on like our third visit to kamoshida’s palace #and this guy literally DECIMATES EVERYTHING he’s doing at least 400-500 damage to every enemy on any hit #and he replenishes all sp in between battles so you can MILK HIM #we were playing for the story anyways but seeing mona be like ‘oh no these guys are tough!’ and then decimating them in one hit #was making us lose it so we just have him forever now #we could only use him once against kamoshida though so we had to fight him normally #however by the time we got to madarame we had enough sp and items to use him 2-3 times in a battle #so we literally fought madarame in under 10 minutes #this is speedrunning at its finest (laziest) #we also have multiple counters running for this run through #right now they’re the for real counter and the someone says ‘i’m gonna kill kamoshida’ counter #we didn’t have one for madarame’s palace so we need to make a new counter for the next one #but yeah p5r has been so fun #my friend who’s playing it has played the whole thing #one of the people who i’m watching with has played through most of p5 but never finished it and also has never played royal #and then me and my other friend are going in basically blind #ryuji’s my favorite btw #this turned into me just ranting about playing games with my friends because it’s fun lol #but yeah play with izanagi it’s SO funny

sometimes I think about the idea that Ryuji is the only person who can make Akira really laugh and I get a little very emo about it like. Akira is normally such a quiet guy but he feels so safe and so free with Ryuji around that he will absolutely lose his mind cry-laughing about stuff, and it’s such a strange sight for most people but to Ryuji it’s actually the most beautiful sound in the world

GODA RYUJI Revival of the Fittest: The Time Ryuji Survived.

After surviving Terada's gunshot wounds and his fight with Kiryu, Ryuji was expelled from the Omi Alliance. While this made him question his direction for a while, he decided that it was ultimately an opportunity to take the things that Kiryu told him to heart and figure out what kind of legacy he actually wanted to leave behind in his life. With Goda Jin being dead, he no longer needed to feel like he had that presence and need for paternal praise looming over him. He had more options.

He never told Kaoru that he was alive. Never tried to reach out to her. He knew about her desire to better her policewoman career in America, and he didn't want to hold her back by making her feel like she needed to stay in Japan for his sake. He vowed that he'd find her again someday, but he wanted to be a better man before he did.

While in Sotenbori, Ryuji tried picking up handyman jobs or freelance small, sketchy businesses --- essentially, anything that would give an ex-yakuza with a reputation like his own a shot. It would have probably been easier to leave Osaka altogether, but Ryuji was admittedly too attached. Eventually, he found out that he had a seemingly hidden talent that he'd never tapped into before: cooking. He'd skip around jobs at ramen shops, yakiniku restaurants, and became particularly fond of a dinky takoyaki street stall in upper Sotenbori. He came to like the fast-paced rush of the restaurant business, and the informal, homelike feeling of street food vendors.

What made him enjoy the industry more was because of the old man who owned the takoyaki stall: a shorter, stocky man with a tough-as-nails attitude who wasn't afraid to give Ryuji a piece of his mind and keep him in line. He quickly became a very respected mentor toward Ryuji, even going as far as affectionately calling the man Oyassan. The old man's rough attitude scared off every other apprentice he'd had, threatening to close down the takoyaki stand until Ryuji came along. Because not only did the old man give Ryuji a second chance at making a honest lifestyle for himself, but Ryuji respected people who had the guts to say and do things that old man did. Ryuji is now currently in line to be the successor of the takoyaki business.

Ryuji also started going by his first name only, since he'd never had a connection with the name Goda and was willing to bury his old life with his old name.

#if im being so real i think a lot of people dislike morgana because they literally just dont think about his age 😭 #he literally cant be older than 3 during the events of p5 and while i dont think he has the mindset of a literal toddler #theres a reason why he acts noticeably less mature than the other thieves at times!! hes just a kid!! just a little baby man #hes also the only thief that doesnt join the party to change the heart of someone specific #he joins the thieves as part of a DEAL in which he gives the thieves info about the metaverse #and in return they help him get to the depths of mementos #as opposed to the other thieves who have all suffered injustices at the hands of one of the palace rulers #morgana doesnt have any reason to fight besides his ethics and the hope that he might have the chance to be human #on top of the fact that he feels inherently useless and lesser because hes a cat he also feels like he doesnt belong!! #he feels like he doesnt belong with the thieves!! a group of outcasts with no one else that he feels he doesnt have a place in!! #sigh #sorry he has so so so much potential and genuinely couldve been one of the best characters in the game had his arc been executed well #AND ANOTHER THING ACTUALLY #contrary to popular opinion i actually think the start of the okumura arc shouldve been longer to give adequate spotlight to mona AND haru #because theyre integral to eachothers character arcs and no one sees that for some reason!! #morgana gets someone who relies on him for metaverse knowledge again giving him feelings of usefulness that hes lacked #since makoto and futaba took his roles as advisor and navigator for the thieves!! #people think his outburst during okumura arc was solely due to his and ryujis bickerings #when its not!! he consistently feels undervalued by all the thieves!! #even akira doesnt notice anything is wrong with him until hes already run away #respect if youve read this far but the tags on this post are already long enough lmao 😭 #um. sorry hes everything to me #persona
