The Importance of the Economic Ties and Cooperation between China and the Philippines
Tumblr media
Here is an interesting Article from the Asian Century Journal (ACJ) showcasing the importance of the Economic Ties and Cooperation between China and the Philippines. Here are some of the most important Quotes from the Article:
“… Some so-called “Experts” and Academics in the Country are urging the Philippine Government to consider stopping and annulling existing Chinese Business operations in the Country if alleged China’s illegal and aggressive actions in the disputed SCS or popularly known in the Philippines as the “West Philippine Sea (WPS)” continue. As far as I am concerned, such a Suggestion from these “Experts” is akin to telling the Philippines to commit Economic Suicide.”
“China has been the Philippines’ Top Trading Partner for seven consecutive Years, with Bilateral Trade reaching $87.73 billion in 2022. In the first seven Months of 2023, China jumped to become the largest Export Market for the Philippines. Thus, China remains the Country’s vital Economic and Trade Partner and is still one of the Country’s top Sources of Investment. In terms of Government-to-Government (G2G) Cooperation Projects between the Philippines and China, they have yielded fruitful Outcomes, with nearly 40 Projects carried out in recent Years, 18 of which have been completed. Apart from Cash, Rice, Fertilizers and Covid-19 Vaccine Donations, an important Highlight is Infrastructure cooperation such as the construction of China-aid Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge, the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge, the Bucana Bridge Project in Davao City, the Dangerous Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers, the Chico River Pump Irrigation Project, the three priority Bridges Project (North and South Harbor Bridge, Palanca-Villegas Bridge and the Eastbank-Westbank Bridge) and the Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project, among others, are key G2G cooperation Projects between the Philippines and China, which offer and extend real Benefits to the Filipino People.”

File: Ghidorah
SCP#: ACJ
Code Name: Ghidorah the Three Headed Demon/ Monster Zero/ The King from Another World
Object Class: Apollyon/ Neutralized
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-ACJ was neutralized the same week it was discovered as such no Containment Procedures have been made.
Description: SCP-ACJ was originally believed to be a member of Species of Interest: The Titans however this has been brought into question as to whether it's true or not given its origin. According to ancient historical paintings found by researchers within the Department of Mythology and Folkloristics, SCP-ACJ doesn't actually belong to earth like other titans. In fact, its physiology, biology, and even chemical structure are completely different from any titan or organism on earth. Unfortunately, it's unknown to what extent these differences reach as SCP-ACJ was killed and obliterated before Foundation staff could research it.
What we do know is that SCP-ACJ greatly resembles the mythical hydra. It has three heads, is coated in golden like scales, has two large wings stronger than any metal on earth, a large and destructive tail, and two muscular legs for walking and landing. Similar to SCP-ABQ, SCP-ACJ has a breath attack though instead of atomic flames, it spits out lightning bolts containing 30,000 gigajoules of energy, possibly more. SCP-ACJ is also capable of rapid regeneration, able to regrow a destroyed head within a single minute.
Despite technically not being of the same species, SCP-ACJ still has the ability to control and communicate with other titans as an Alpha Class Titan. During its awakening SCP-ACJ started ordering all other Titans to go around destroying as much of the world as possible. It's been theorized that this was for the purpose of terraforming the world to something more destructive that only Titans could live on. It was only thanks to SCP-ABQ and SCP-ABU that SCP-ACJ was eventually stopped though not before 78% of humanity was wiped out leading to activation of SCP-2000. Please see Addendum X-23 for details.
SCP-ACJ was discovered in 1964 during an excavation by a research team from the Department of Mythology and Folkloristics. They were following clues to a supposed "false king", a secondary Alpha to the Titans beside SCP-ABQ and SCP-ABU. Unfortunately, despite being careful not to wake up SCP-ACJ, it broke from the ground upon its discovery and wiped out the entire research team. Worst off upon reaching the surface its roars carried out to the entire world, waking up all Titans under the Foundation's control and ones we had yet to find. On that day alone 42% of the world's population was wiped out by their attacks leading the ACPA to exhaust all of its resources to kill a measly 17 Titans when there was still [data expunged] rampaging the world. The fighting only stopped after SCP-ABQ and SCP-ABU were victorious in killing SCP-ACJ. This unfortunately did lead to the activation of Protocol “No Mercy” which states [data expunged] before activation of SCP-2000.
It is because of the battle between the Titans and the fact that the earth would have been destroyed without SCP-ABQ and SCP-ABU that it was considered an unspoken law among the organizations of the ACPA to never bring harm to either of them. Without them, the earth would have been destroyed and the ACPA would have failed humanity in every conceivable way.
Level 4 Clearance required for unedited version of Addendum X-23. (Coming... eventually)

this is me trying. (self para)
[tw: depression]
Being around people, being at the heart of the festival, all felt like things she needed. She had spent far too much time curled up inside her own mind these days. Sometimes she blamed it on the weather, but now the colder months were behind her and she still remained. Fresh air, warm sunshine on her skin, and flowers so bold and bright that they were practically blinding. In theory, it was a perfect concoction to lure her out and embrace spring the way she wanted to. The way she needed to.
Instead, she was surrounded by many familiar faces in a place so beautiful, yet felt that ache she couldn’t shake. She was surrounded by people, and somehow, so alone.
It was beginning to feel like that everywhere she went. Chey was seldom alone, physically. She had her long hours at work with her crew, the friends who chatted over beers, her bandmates who she bothered with lyric ideas all too often, and her eldest brother who meant the world to her. In the most literal sense, she was far from alone, yet she felt it so deeply in her bones.
Work had started feeling more strenuous than a passion these days, her friends and bandmates rightfully had their own lives that existed beyond her, and her brother… Well, he made her loneliest of all.
Chey left the botanical gardens that night though she had intended to stay to release the first round of lanterns to the sky. It was positively her favorite part of the festival every year, but she couldn’t bring herself to be there any longer. Home sounded just as awful, so she went to the only place that ever made any sense to her - the beach. It was a clear night, most of the town had gathered in the gardens and left her with the only company of the moon. Untying her shoes, she kicked them off in her car and hiked her dress up some to plunge through the sand to get to the shore. An invisible weight lifted from her chest the moment those rolling waves came into view and filled her senses. The sound began to lull her out of her own head, though not completely.
She sat down on the sand, not minding the way it clung to her skin and covered her dress. She never minded. With her toes dug in, she inhaled the salty air and felt that ache again. How long would it last this time? She wished there was an easier answer to that question. In some ways, she knew there was one, an unpleasant truth. It would always be there. She just usually had a better grip on it, and god she was trying to get there again.
It seemed like tears should’ve come, but they stayed put. She looked out at the water and watched the waves come in. It was something she had done since she was a little girl. In dire times, you take to the sea, her mother always teased. Not much had changed. A flicker of light caught the corner of her eye and pulled her gaze away from the dark waves. Hundreds of little lights began to spill into the sky, spreading out as they floated above. All the lanterns from the festival were in clear view and painted the sky in a glow unlike any other. Even though it was distant, it was so clear to see that light.
The ache subsided. Chey rested her arms on the tops of her knees as she watched people’s hopes, dreams, desires float like a brilliant light show. That distant light gave her some sort of hope of her own she hadn’t realized she was searching for. This feeling wasn’t forever - and even if it was, it wouldn’t always consume her.
All she could do every day was try, and at least she was trying.

BIOGRAPHY
[tw: mentions of depression & suicide]
INVINCIBLE -
It was the word that often came to mind whenever the name Amanda Chey Johnson rolled off your tongue. Age seven, naïve as ever, she climbed the highest tree in her neighborhood’s park out of sheer stubbornness of proving herself to her brothers. The fall, however, could’ve been deadly – should’ve been deadly as she tumbled to the ground head first. Two broken bones and a measly headache. Age sixteen, deciding to ignore the endless warnings of the weather, she took off to surf rocky waves alone. The gulf opened up, swallowed her whole and her lungs filled with water. She flat lined in the ambulance. Dead for a total of ten seconds, her heart kicked in as sea water spewed from her lips. Alive and well. She spent her youth cheating death one miraculous time after another. Was she just lucky? Most likely, but those around her deemed her invincible.
But, she never once felt that way. For someone who constantly cheated death, it happened to be the only thing she truly wanted. At the age of eighteen, she inevitably decided to take her own life - but to her dismay, she awoke in a hospital with a beating heart in her chest.
The girl spent her childhood with salt in her hair and toes in the sand of small town Port Aransas, Texas. Though she had her loving father, mother, and three reckless brothers, Chey was plagued with something no one could ever understand – depression. With all her spunk and confidence on the outside, it was hard for others to see anything other than invincibility. Depression had been in her blood for as long as she could remember – no circumstance ever made her this way, and perhaps that’s why the people around her always wrote off her illness as a cry for help or desperate need of attention.
She lived her life with a smile stitched on her lips around the friends she considered merely strangers. As she grew, she resulted to regularly visiting a therapist, taking medication, and forcing herself to find escapes in everyday life. Film, music, surfing – these were the things that reminded her she was alive. No, it was never the near death experiences that made her appreciate what she had, but just the simple things.
However, after her failed attempt at suicide, something finally began to settle within her. Maybe… just maybe, she was meant to be alive. Taking the easy way out had never been a method she preferred, so why start now? The pain and love of her family had come to light after that day, and she realized what she was originally willing to throw away. Her family was every bit of who she was, and without them, she’d be better off dead than alive. So, for them, she pushed herself after high school came to a bittersweet end and decided to change the vicious state of her mind. Of course, this doesn’t mean her depression would ever fully go away – but it was a start.
She received a scholarship to study film at UCLA and she took this opportunity to invite some change into her life and move to California for a clean slate. All of her life she was convinced she was an atomic bomb, something only negative that would eventually detonate and obliterate all those around her into bits. It wasn’t until she took a leap of faith by leaving the only place she has known as home to realize she was an atomic bomb – but in a completely different sense. She was powerful, bright, and came into this new life like an explosion. It was then she knew that she had to keep fighting.
After college – and being the queen of any and every drinking game – Chey truly found herself. No one sees the reserved girl with a broken smile, but a boisterous woman full of life and free-spirit. Her horizons opened, even job opportunities came easier. She landed a PA position at a production studio that later helped her career in film. Now she works as an assistant director (and aspiring director) for television series and feature films. Chey became something new entirely, became the person she was destined to be. With her father’s sailor’s mouth and her brothers’ alcohol tolerance, she’s rather awkward, clumsy, and a little inappropriate at times – yet, deep down, she was still the girl from Texas with a lot of heart.
Maybe everyone was right when they said Amanda Chey Johnson was made for big things. Maybe her mother was right all those nights she reminded her daughter to never let her fear decide her fate. Despite what life brings her, nothing will stop her from becoming who she’s meant to be.
EXTRA INFO
Her whole family, and those closest to her, tend to call her “Mandy”. She is a woman of many names - Amanda, Chey, Mandy, Manda… Most know her simply by Chey. Her whole family have ‘C’ names, and though her mother originally named her Amanda to break away from that annoying trend, they ultimately ended up calling her by her middle name.
Chey used to date the lead singer of a band that has gotten recent fame. Back when they were dating, he actually used her to gain some access to put his music in some of the films she worked on. What she refuses to believe is that he genuinely fell in love with her after, but she could care less. He made her feel like a fool, and for that, she continues hating him. If anyone mentions his band or he comes on the radio, it takes everything within her to not smash something.
She mostly works on independent films and some major motion pictures. The type of films she creates are similar to the following: Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Lady Bird, Drinking Buddies, Blue Valentine, Sleeping With Other People, Little Miss Sunshine, Comet, Whip It, 20th Century Women - to name a few!
A part of Chey contemplates one day leaving the film life behind to open up a brewery, potentially with her brothers. She’s family oriented at her core and often misses when life was less busy.
She has extreme confidence when it comes to her abilities in her career and skills. However, when it comes to the world of romance, she is full of doubt. One too many bad experiences has scorn her for good and she fully believes that a happy ending is not in her future.
