🎉 I always do a little happy dance when I post something. If it was a hard chapter I treat myself to something nice like a candy bar or a glass of wine. I have a hard time giving myself credit but even I can't deny since 2020 I've written A LOT. That's nothing to sneeze at.

I love all the comments. My favorites though are people pointing out what their favorite bit of what they read is. Also anytime I can make someone laugh and they tell me I get the warm fuzzies inside. I like making people smile.

😅 What's a story or scene you've created that you're a smidge embarrassed exists?

The porn A lot of the stuff from the aughts which lurks on LJ...and AO3 if you dig enough (please do not dig enough). It was a different time and I was a lot less stable in my 20s ok.

🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?

I used to let my Spotify go, or do specific playlists but right now my YouTube algorithm is currently spitting out hours-long Latin/Spanish guitar loops because I thought something more neutral would help with the block (it has not, mostly).

Current hyperfixation song is "Dear Fellow Traveler" by Sea Wolf, which is a Jose song. I am not providing explanations at this time.

⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?

My docs are a graveyard. My AO3 full of ancient WIPs I need to mark discontinued. Sometimes the muse just...leaves. Sometimes one shitty comment makes you never want to look at a fic again. Sometimes fandoms well and truly die, or become dead to you. Sucks.

9 Do you have a faceclaim / voiceclaim for your OC?

I confess I am terrible with actors and actresses and don't really know enough of any of them to try and match them up with OCs. Based on a quick google search and the soft quality of voice I imagine Lucía to have, maybe Salma Hayek or Sarah Ramírez for  Lucía's voice. I'm sorry I don't have a good answer for you 😥

20 If they came from their world to ours (if not already in our’s) how would they react? What would they do?

If Lucía were to come to our world - which mainly means 2023/modern times - she'd probably walk around in shock for a good day or two before even being coherent enough to ask questions, and then she'd be in absolute awe and wonder at modern technology - stovetops and electric ovens and microwaves and smartphones and music streaming and video calls and oh, what she wouldn't give to have a recording of her mother 😭

...and then would come the questions about how and how it works and eventually she would make it to the history questions and....keeping this light but Lucía would weep at a lot of it. Weep with sorrow for all that's been lost and weep with bittersweet gratitude at how hard people have worked to help and heal and save.

And after going through the 5 stages of grief and coming to grips with all that's happened in the world, she would explore more of it and learn - you can PUBLISH things DIGITALLY?!?!  Thousands and thousands of books available at your fingertips, and you can just - read them? And write them? There are sites where people write stories about things they love and expand on the stories they already know and love and share them and people talk about them and she can talk to people all over the world about her favorite books?!?! For real life?!

...I feel like Lucía would write fanfiction and she'd be darn good at it but she'd also be extremely shy about interacting with anyone online.

Who she's going with: Bruno

Where she's going: San Cristobál, to see a double feature playing 2 Colombian films: Antonia Santos, a 1944 drama about María Antonia Santos Plata, a peasant, Colombian rebel leader, and heroine; and Bambucos y Corazones, a 1945 musical comedy. (Based solely on limited google research.)

What she's wearing: Her green dress (the simple, off-the-shoulder olive green one with yellow-gold accents along the edges of the ruffles, waist, and hem) and a pair of comfortable alpargatas. Her hair is braided and wound into a bun at the back of her head and she's probably wearing her only pair of earrings - simple gold studs.

Here's a part one of my 'sketches I did in a span of roughly a month' featuring the Encanto oc's both mine and not mine! :)

Putting the rest under cut, because I have quite a few more sketches to share!

So, here, we have a section where I was figuring out how to draw Leandra ';D I still am, somehow I can't seem to 'get' her features but I hope I will eventually!

The last picture features my two oc's: Dioselina and Daniela. Dioselina is the one challenging Leandra to an arm wrestling match and Daniela is at the back with Augustín both rooting for their respective friends :)

16. What does your OC smell like?

Hmm... Parchment, books, and calligraphy tools (whatever they smell like haha)... Oh, probably a touch of some kind of fragrant or sweet spice too 😌

23. What is a random fact about your OC?

He can play the spoons 😆 I don't know if this is/would have been a thing in Colombia, but I can imagine Mo being able to play.

38. What would your character do with a million dollars?

Honestly, he'd probably donate a bunch of it to various Jewish organizations and charities, as well as give some to friends. He doesn't have much use for money himself. Maybe he'd try traveling somewhere if the Encanto was open, like in a post-canon scenario.

1. Were you named after anybody?

I think my middle name came from a great aunt and I think my first name came from "Young and the Restless". Bruno would get a kick out of that, I bet.

2. When was the last time you cried?

A little while ago. I think the last time was a panic attack. I get those...heh.

3. Do you have kids?

No, never will.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I guess so, I have dry humour. I'm very blunt though, so who knows what I'm trying to do, haha.

5. What sports do you play/have played?

I liked racket sports like tennis and badminton in highschool, but I am not that sporty. I am more of a hiker.

6. What's the first thing you notice about someone?

Hmm...that's hard. I don't look at people. When I do end up looking at someone, it's their eyes that stick with me, ironically. While I'm talking, I can't make eye contact, but if someone else is talking, I can make too much eye contact. I think eyes are beautiful.

7. Eye color?

Sometimes green, sometimes blue, sometimes grey. It's as inconsistent as I am.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

I like both.

9. Any special talents?

I don't know.

10. Where were you born?

Writing, reading, hiking, tracking, building things, fixing things and a multitude of other random things.

1. Were you named after anybody?

Yes I am--my middle name is from my paternal grandmother, who is an amazingly strong woman who emigrated from Mexico to raise her five young boys on her own. I passed that name to my kiddo, too. My first name is from my great-grandmother on my mom's side. I was just fortunate enough to inherit her antique sewing/writing desk, which now where I often write from!

2. When was the last time you cried?

Ha! Today. One of my small humans was sad, and I was sad with her. I wanted to show her it's okay to be sad.

3. Do you have kids?

I do, two lovely small imps that I adore.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Oh, not at all. [sarcastic]

5. What sports do you play/have played?

I played soccer and volleyball back in the day. I was good at neither, but I definitely had fun!

6. What's the first thing you notice about someone?

If they are a listener or sharer (or somewhere in between). I often forget faces I should remember 😬

7. Eye color?

Light brown, some green.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Ah, happy endings. I used to like scary movies, but I don't anymore.

9. Any special talents?

I can often predict the plot twist of movies. My husband calls it my superpower. It's fun when I'm right, but I LOVE it when I can't.

11. What are your hobbies?

Gardening is my main hobby. I love writing and am getting into art too, but I don't have as much time for those hobbies in this season of life. Gardening I can do with my kiddos 💚

12. Do you have any pets?

Not right now. I am allergic to cats and dogs...but I can dream! Maybe one day. I love doggies.

13. How tall are you?

I'm pretty average. I can turn off the smoke alarm without a stepstool if I jump just right.

14. Favorite subject in school?

English (reading/writing). Books were my everything!

15. Dream job?

Much like @16magnolias, I also had a dream job before my youngest was born. I taught writing at university and helped coordinate their undergrad writing program. I will say though, I don't think that's still my dream job. When I do go back to work, I might work with preschoolers or kindergarteners. That early age range is just magical :)

Frost: If you could give some advice to your younger self, what would you say?

This is a hard one. Probably along the lines of 'Don't worry so much about what other people think of you, appreciate your body and appearance for what it is because you really are strong and capable and lovely, and hey, dumb dumb, don't let your crush cheat off of you in biology class, you're better than that!

Fireside: If you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?

Having everything tailored to my body, honestly. I have a long torso and shortish legs and I want pants that fit comfortably around my waist/hips that make my butt look good but don't drag on the ground. (Yes yes I buy petite when I can and hem the rest but still.) I want shirts that cover my stomach when I raise my arms and my chest when I bend over with sleeves that don't swallow my arms. I want dresses that accentuate my curves without making me feel self conscious about whether or not my bra strap is showing.

...I like jeans and leggings and lightweight comfy cotton sweaters and flannel button downs and t shirts and cardigans and occassionally a nice sundress and flats and sneakers. I like things that are cute but comfortable and practical.

And dream world I would also own a ton of 50s style dresses because A line skirts look good on me hehe.

Cranberry: what’s one physical feature that you get complimented on?

My smile/teeth. My teeth are very white and very straight, I guess? 😅 And I know I have laugh/smile lines already, but I like them. I do smile a lot. 😁
