My Brownells brn180 and why I think you need one.

Obviously with a sentence like that you can tell that I really like my brn180 rifle. This post is going to be a overview of how I have my 180 setup and the pros and cons to the brn180 rifles.

First I’ll start out by giving you a complete breakdown of my rifle.

For magazines I tend to run various metal mags from brownells,duramag, and d&h.

Let’s get the cons out of the way first since there aren’t that many in my opinion. First is the price, as I’m typing this the same 16” upper is on sale right now for 879. The non sale price is 969, luckily you can find these on sale fairly regularly. That is a pretty steep price for a lot of people to justify buying one. I know it was for me when I got mine but I am very glad I did.

Second is going to be the barrel length selection. I understand why they have the barrel lengths that they do but at the same time it seems like everyone that owns a rifle of any kind has a certain barrel length that they like for a certain reason.

Third is going to be the weight. Again I understand with the brn180 being a short stroke gas piston operated upper it’s going to be a little front heavy and there’s nothing that can really be done about it.

The biggest gripe I have about my particular brn180 is the lack of a dust cover. It’s my fault I didn’t realize it when I ordered mine that I had ordered the brn180 sport. So make sure you pay attention to make sure you order the correct one.

Now that the cons are out of the way we can get into the reasons why this has became one of my absolute favorite rifles to shoot.

First of all as we all know any gun that folds is ten times cooler than if it didn’t fold. When running a 16” upper being able to fold that stock makes transporting in backpacks or even storing it folded to save room in your safe.

Second the ar18/ar180 action is very very smooth. It’s a very soft and manageable recoil impulse that makes follow up shots extremely easy.

I like that pretty much all your standard ar15 lower parts will work with the exception of some grips. As you can see in the pictures if you run the retro style lower then you’ll need to run a grip without a beaver tail or you’ll need to modify the grip.

The upper comes with a easy to use adjustable gas system so if you want to throw a suppressor on it’s as easy as turning a dial to switch from unsuppressed to suppressed.

So like I said in the beginning, I really enjoy my brn180 rifle and I plan on doing a 10.5” pistol version here in the near future. These are very cool guns and if you are thinking about getting into one I highly recommend it.

The Bartender AU used to be a Western AU but I've never been too into the western genre so it was too much for me. And boy is it's replacement brilliant. Can't wait for that one. These prompts only require female characters but my bi ass keeps thinking up wlw stories. 😂 This isn't one of those but I've already got a pretty good idea for the tree carving one.

And last but not least, my 03 one! This version needed some more love so I went with it. When this one's done I might give PSOH or PSME a shot. It'll be tricky though. Most of these prompts are way out of my comfort zone, but as that's the purpose of these things I'll just have to see how I go.

When I'm done I get to slap it with one of these 😁depending on which is easier seen. Might make some other colours later when I've the money. I really wouldn't mind a nice green one. Maybe a red one and purple one too. But especially the green one. A nice dark emerald colour would be nice.

“He’s…uh…you know,” Dean sighs as you place your hand onto his chest and lean closer to fake a kiss. “Intense.”

“Intense,” you nod. “That’s one way to describe John Winchester. Another way is to call him a tactless jerk and an idiot. He treated you and your brother like stupid boys and tried to make me feel uncomfortable. He’s not intense but an awful person.”

“You know, money makes some omegas greedy. They tried to get their hands on me and Sammy before. Dad only tries to protect us,” the alpha tries to defend his father’s behavior, but you won’t have it.

“My what?” dropping your hands as if Dean burned you, you step away from the alpha shaking your head.

“Guess the cat is out, huh?” you glance at Dean, sizing him up. “See, ladies, and gentlemen. This man,” pointing at Dean you narrow your eyes, “can’t even find an omega accompanying him. He’s a little boy seeking his daddy’s approval. I hope you got it tonight, Dean.”

“Y/N, sweetheart…I,” Dean steps toward you, and tries to touch your arm but you slap his hand away.

“Red,” you call out. “I told you about my rules. You just broke three of them. I will leave now, and you’ll pay for my inconvenience. No one makes me feel like you just did.”

You twirl around and storm out of the room, ignoring all eyes following you. Little gasps and hushed words follow your departure until deafening silence settles in the room.

“SONOFABITCH,” Dean chases after you. He runs upstairs to stop you from packing your things. His heart is in his throat as he catches a glimpse of you. “Y/N, please wait. I’m sorry…”

“Our business transaction is over,” you walk into the bedroom you shared over the last week to grab your things and get the hell out of this town and away from Dean.

“Sweetheart…I mean Y/N,” the alpha follows you inside the room to watch you hastily pack your things. “Please, wait. I-I’m an idiot. You were right. I tried to get my dad’s approval and I said all those stupid things.”

“It was only the truth?” you shrug. “I’m an omega for hire. You paid me. End of story.”

“What if I don’t want our story to end yet?” he carefully approaches you. Dean takes the clothes out of your hands to toss them into your suitcase. “Can we…I mean…would you…?”

“I want to go now. You made me feel uncomfortable and I won’t have this,” you are adamant about your rules. “No one has the right to make me feel like you did. I thought you can be a good alpha. I was wrong…”

Dean paces in front of your office, clutching the flowers he bought for you to his chest. 

“I will go in there and tell her how I feel,” he whispers to himself. “Just don’t tell her right away that you want her to stop meeting up with other alphas for money. She’s an independent woman, Dean.”

“Will you stop talking to yourself and finally enter the building?” Sam cocks a brow as his brother looks at the flowers one last time. “The flowers are beautiful, you look good, and your speech is…well…just don’t talk too much”

“Shut up bitch. I need to get this right and ask her out,” Dean places his hand on the doorhandle, sighing deeply. “What if she says no?” he looks over his shoulder. “Sammy?”

“Christ, go in there and tell her you are sorry for being a douche. You must tell her that you fell in love with her the first time you laid eyes on her. Just don’t mention you’d like to give her pups,” making a face Dean enters the building, nervous as hell.

“Hello, what can I—?” you splutter as none other than Dean steps inside your office. “What do you want here? I’ll not pay you your money back.”

“No—no!” he stretches his arm out to show you the flowers. “For you, Y/N. I came here to apologize again. You must know that I…” Dean stands in your office, at a loss of words. “I kinda love you.”

“What?” you blink a few times. Did Dean Winchester just tell you that he loves you? “Is this some kind of joke?”

“You drive me crazy. Anytime I close my eyes I see you, your smile, and what’s worse, everything seems to smell like you,” he pushes the flowers in your hands. “I came here to say I’m sorry and that I will try to be the best alpha for you. Would you give me the honor to go out with me?” He gives you puppy dog eyes, whining as you shake your head. “Please.”

“No. You didn’t earn to go out with me yet,” you turn around to ignore his low wails. “Come back when you are ready to court for an omega as you should. Until then, leave me alone.”

Dean came back. Day by day over the last six months. He begged, pleaded, and offered anything coming to his mind to make you cave in.

“How about I let you drive my car,” he winces as you purse your lips. God, how you love the alpha is putty in your hands. “Y/N?”

“I can drive your Baby,” Dean reluctantly nods. He hates to let you drive his car but is willing to pay the price to get you to talk to him. “Hmm…fine. You are allowed to ask me out after I drove your car.”

You hold out your hand for the keys, smirking as Dean grumbles under your breath. 

“What was that?” you smirk at Dean. “Did you say something?”

“Nothing,” he says. “I said nothing.”

“That was awesome,” you exclaim while slowing down the car. Dean releases a shuddery breath. He almost clawed at the seat as you drove a little too fast. “Damn, what a car.”

“You almost killed us there, Y/N,” chuckling you unbuckle your seatbelt to lean closer to Dean. “I mean it!”

“I want to go out with you tonight. My favorite restaurant, at eight. You will pay for my food, but I’ll pay for the ice cream we will get later,” pecking his cheek you giggle as he purrs low in his throat. “Don’t be late.”

“What? I,” you are gone before Dean can stop you. “She loves me too…she wants me to give her pups. I just know it…”
