_______
This was not an ideal situation. You’d finally done it and taken that solo vacation in the mountains. A cozy cabin in a retreat from the world. The trees had turned already and were bare but the damp, cloudy rainy day would have been perfect to curl up by the wood fireplace and get through that stack of books you’d been meaning to.
Except your heat, your heat that’d always been on schedule since you’d started having them, was three fucking weeks early. You didn’t have any medicine besides a few pain killers meant for headaches, not dangerous cramps, and the cabin only had basics meant for allergies or a cold. You needed heat suppressants soon if you didn’t want to go into a full heat.
Which again, wasn’t an ideal situation since you didn’t have a flippin’ mate.
You could have tried to trek back to civilization through the winding dirt road but it’d taken two hours on the way in. Two hours of intense cramps? No way were you making that drive.
“Shit,” you said, walking slowly to the service room on the lower floor of the cabin where a radio at a table sat. Because of course you wanted to vacation somewhere without people, that meant no cell service either.
A rumble of cramps passed through you, warmth flaring your insides. You gritted your teeth and grabbed the radio, turning the frequency to the ranger station listed on the sheet on the table for emergencies.
“Hello, uh, forest service? I need help,” you said, closing your eyes as pain radiated up your spine. You frowned for a moment, the radio crackling. “Hello? I-”
“This is station 327, Ranger Winchester. What’s the emergency?” asked a strong, serious voice. You bit your bottom lip as you imagined he was an Alpha, your core quivering at the idea of getting a knot. “Mam? Please respond.”
“M-My heat’s early. It’s real bad and I have no medication. I-I’m in the Vrbo cabin off route 37, Mount Dusk I think it was called. I-”
“This line is for true emergencies. Your heat being a few days early and you being an unprepared Omega is not-”
“Listen asshole,” you snarled, gasping when your stomach threatened to curl in on itself. “It’s three fucking weeks early which everyone knows isn’t normal. I need a fucking heat kit, a strong one, or a fucking knot now and since I’m out here alone, all I got is your ass. So get me my shit and-FUCK!”
You dropped the radio as you bent over, falling to your knees. Something was wrong. Heat’s didn’t come on this fast, not even when you scented your true mate.
You could hear noise through the radio but your head was thrumming, your body grateful for the cold wood floor below you. It wasn’t possible to die from a heat, was it? If you let the fever go you supposed but it took days and days for that to happen and you’d only felt crappy for an hour. Yeah, you’d be just fine. This guy would bring you medicine and you’d be fine.
Right?
You blinked open your eyes when you heard glass break. Crap, you’d passed out for who knew how long. The overwhelming scent of Alpha hit you and despite the pain, you shot upright, staring at the man in the wet raincoat as he reached his hand through the broken pane and undid the lock. He froze when he saw you, his own scent shifting subtly. A hint of fear under the surface.
“Jesus,” he mumbled, raking his eyes over your sweat drenched body. He took off his backpack, pulling out a white box and a bottle of water, cautiously setting them on the ground and sliding them over to you.
“I look that bad, huh?” you said, ripping open the box and finding the medicine you needed, knocking it back with a swig of water.
“You’re in heat and I don’t want to be accused of doing shit I didn’t,” he said. You narrowed your eyes, hand fisting in your own shirt over your stomach. That shouldn’t have been happening still. Heat medication worked instantly. “What’s-”
You fell over again, clutching your abdomen, head spinning, body going haywire at his scent.
“Please,” you whispered, finding his hard eyes. “I’ll give you whatever you want. I-I need you to-”
“I can’t.” A wracked sob slipped past your lips as something in your broke, pain flooding every single cell. You just needed a knot and it would be bearable. He muttered to himself and quickly you were in strong arms, your own wrapping around him shakily. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”
“I’ll pay you,” you whispered, hating how that sounded but he simply carried you out in the pouring rain, the cold air helping your skin not feel so hot.
“I’m on Novi-Alpha. If I knotted you,, you’d fucking die so I’m sorry but I can’t help you like that even if I wanted to.”
“I’m gonna die from this fucking fever anyways!” you shouted as he opened the backdoor of a rugged looking jeep.
“One’s a chance, one’s a guarantee,” he said, setting you down, your arms still clinging to him. He eyed you, forcibly grabbing your wrists and pulling them away. “You will not die, understand me? Now let me get you to a hospital.”
You reached for him but he moved away too quickly, closing the door. He ducked into the cabin to retrieve his bag before he was behind the wheel.
“Honey Dusk Hospital is aware you’re in a dangerous heat,” he said, turning the jeep around and driving down the dirt road, way faster than you had.
“Don’t kill me in a fucking car accident on the way,” you groaned, squeezing your eyes shut.
“This vehicle is meant for these roads, unlike your car. We’ll be on route 37 in thirty minutes, at the hospital in forty five.” You threw your head back, his musky scent filling the small space.
“Distract me,” you breathed out. “Fuck you smell so good. If you weren’t on Novi-Alpha, I’d climb you like a fucking tree.”
“Whoa lady. Calm down-”
“Don’t lady me. We’re like the same fucking age.”
“You say fucking a lot, you realize.”
“You have your insides tearing apart and tell me you wouldn’t be cursing-” You shouted, bracing yourself against the door panel, feeling him step on the gas harder. “What the fuck is happening to me?”
“...I have an idea,” he said quietly. You flashed open your eyes, looking at his incredible scruff covered jawline, his gaze focused on the bumpy, wet road ahead.
“What? Are you a doctor? Are-”
“No. I only know my basic medical training.” He frowned, rounding a tight corner. “It’s probably not a heat and you’re just sick.”
“I know what a heat feels like thank you very much.” You shivered violently, the ranger sighing. “What’s your name?”
“Dean Winchester. Try to rest. We’ll be there soon.”
The ranger’s suggestion to rest had, shockingly, not worked. By the time you were speeding down this small town’s streets, you were shaking so hard you literally couldn’t stop. Dean had reached back more than once as he drove with a handheld thermometer, muttering a few f-bombs to himself.
At least he wasn’t the one with a hundred and five temperature. A hundred and five and a half to be exact. You were pretty sure your heat was about to boil the fuck out of you and kill you within the next hour.
Dean said something but you didn’t hear him over your screaming. The next thing you knew he was ripping open the door and running inside a hospital with you in his arms, nearly tripping into a stretcher where a team was waiting.
“She’s fucking dying,” he said as he set you down, the team of doctors and nurses rushing you into a side room.
“You said this heat came on suddenly?” he asked Dean, someone sticking a thermometer in your ear.
“106. She’s too hot,” called out the nurse, the doctor near Dean rushing over, the team suddenly pushing you out of the room and down the hall. You were shoved through a pair of double doors into a bathroom, a silver high walled tub in the corner.
“I got her,” said Dean, lifting you up and plunging you into an icy cold bath. You screamed as it burned your fiery skin, his hands on your shoulders forcing you to stay inside. “Look at me. Look at me.”
You couldn’t get the words out, taking in his green emerald eyes for the first time. His scent was still all around you, pine trees and vanilla beans, a cozy campfire and aged whiskey, fresh tobacco and soft linen. Your brain went fuzzy, blood pumping in your ears, thrumming in time with your heart. Was it getting slower? Your eyes were getting heavier, that was for sure.
But he smelled so pretty, so…homey. Rugged. Yours.
“We’re losing her!” someone shouted, just as one last image of his concerned face crossed your mind.
You felt strangely…blissed out when you woke. Satisfied, like you were after being on the receiving end of a knot but also relaxed and floaty, like when you finished a heat. It wasn’t exactly a problem your heat had passed but you remembered a whole lot of pain and a high fever which wasn’t normal.
So what the fuck had happened?
You stretched in bed and sat up, a doctor in a white coat stepping into the room with a smile.
“Y/N! Glad to see you awake. It’s been a few hours. How are you feeling?” he asked, gently taking your wrist and checking your pulse.
“Uh, pretty good actually. I take it my heat’s gone?” He hummed, raising your arm up, feeling under your armpit.
“Yes. There’s not many cases a year but some Omegas do unfortunately have a negative reaction.” The doctor put two fingers to your bonding gland on your neck, your eyes narrowing. Why would he be feeling that?
“What are you doing?” you asked as he pulled them back, glancing at a monitor.
“Just checking your bond is healing.” You stared at him, the doctor glancing down with a sigh. “You don’t remember, do you? What happened before you passed out in the tub?”
“I remember being dumped in ice cold water and a whole lot of people shouting but that’s it.”
“You didn’t pass out immediately. We determined while you were on the way here that your heat was triggered by the fact you came into contact with your true mate. Ordinarily, you would have picked up on this yourselves but your Alpha is on medication that has strong side effects. Namely, he was only vaguely aware of who you were through scent but there was no desire to mate as would be the norm. For you, unfortunately there is no recognition on a level that you’re aware of. You understandably would not know you went into heat early because of your true mate.”
You reached a hand up to your bonding gland, wide eyed when you felt…something. You flew out of bed, the doctor trying to stop you but you were quickly in the small bathroom, staring in the mirror.
“What the fuck is that!” you shouted. On your neck was a fresh, pink, bite mark. Someone had fucking claimed you. You angrily spun around, the doctor holding up his hands. “What kind of hospital is this! I’m suing the fuck out of you and this whole place!”
You caught a whiff of something…delectable, an Alpha’s scent somewhere close by. It calmed you, ever so briefly, the doctor sighing.
“The man that brought you in-”
“The ranger guy.”
“Yes he…well he…there’s no easy way to say this. He is your true mate. Ordinarily we would have used medication to mimic your true mate’s scent but seeing as he was there…when he was told he would be able to claim…” he said as you stalked out, eye twitching. “We were losing you and receiving a claim bite from your true mate was the fastest way to bring your fever down. In emergency situations, true mates are allowed to make medical choice for you if you’re unable-”
“He wasn’t my mate then,” you growled.
“Physically, no but on a metaphysical level, yes. Frankly, the health of my patient, you, is all I care about. We’d like to observe you a few more hours before discharging.” You crossed your arms, narrowing your eyes.
“So my heat is magically gone and some random dude hanging out in the hall is now my Alpha?”
“That’s the more blunt way of putting it. We’ll send home medication to suppress your urges to mate physically. Your Alpha will be unable to knot you until he has completed his Novi-Alpha prescription.”
“And when will that be?” you asked, tilting your head. The doctor frowned. “When?”
“...You don’t know what Novi-Alpha is prescribed for, do you. That is a discussion for you and your Alpha.” You wanted to argue but he lifted his chin. “Please let me finish my examination and determine if your heat had any consequences.”
Three hours later they finally let you leave, a white baggie in hand that held a bottle of pills you were to take once a week for the foreseeable future. There were well over a hundred inside which made you more than queasy.
What the fuck was Novi-Alpha and why did a guy that looked more than healthy need to be on it?
You frowned when you stepped outside under the covered front entrance, the ranger standing from where he sat on a bench.
“Hey,” he said quietly. “How are you feeling?”
“I didn’t give you permission to claim me.” His scent shifted, an edge to it you didn’t like. He narrowed his eyes, a frown growing on his otherwise handsome face. “Oh, don’t you start on that we’re true mates shit. You didn’t ask for my consent.”
“Excuse me but you were the one begging for it,” he quipped back. He took a few steps away like he was heading for the sidewalk, suddenly turning on a dime and getting in your face. He breathed heavily, clenching his jaw. “You don’t feel…this and I get that it’s my fault. I barely feel it myself. And I frankly don’t care about your consent. My mate was five minutes away from death.”
“Oh, I did not sign up for some toxic asshole,” you said, shaking your head. You took a step, Dean grabbing your wrist. He looked ready to snarl, lip curling up.
“True mates are never, ever bad mates. Stop hating me for saving you.”
“I don’t even fucking know you. This whole situation is your damn fault in the first place.” He twitched his eye, yanking on your arm so you stepped forward. “Get off, ass-”
“I am your Alpha and I’m taking you home,” he said, tugging you along after him, your feet cold on the wet ground, socks already soaked through.
“I’m not going anywhere with you,” you growled. Dean whipped around and in a second, you were tossed over his shoulder. “Dean! Put me down!”
“You’ll wear yourself out if you don’t calm down.” You growled, punching his back twice. You raised your fist again but felt dizzy, your hands instead gripping him tightly. “Did you listen to the doctors at all? You need to take it easy.”
“Just take me to my cabin,” you grumbled. He didn’t speak again, only grunted once when he opened the passenger door of his truck to slide you inside. You were too tired to deal with this crap. You’d go back to the cabin, sleep for a solid twelve hours and figure out this mate crap tomorrow.
The roads were unfamiliar as Dean drove in silence, winding and twisting as he drove away from town and off a small road. It was a gravel road unlike the one to your cabin but you perked up when you saw a cabin in a small clearing after only a few minutes.
“Uh, that’s not my cabin,” you said. Dean put the truck in park, turning it off. “I was out on Mount-”
“This is my house…our house,” he mumbled the last part. You shook your head at him, Dean rolling his eyes. “You need rest, not to sit in a car for hours. I’ll get your shit from that rental and bring it here. We’ll figure out the rest of your crap from wherever you’re from later.”
“Excuse me? We’re mates, as much as that appalls me. We make decisions like where to live together. I have a job, a life-”
“We live here. End of discussion,” he growled. His scent was raw, twitchy. There was no room for arguing. You were ready to fight back but you forced yourself to calm down. He was your true mate and as much as you hated to admit it, he had a point. True mates were never bad to one another. He wouldn’t harm you but good god was this guy protective.
You frowned when he held up a finger to you and got out. He threw up his hood, rain coming down harder. In a flash he was at your door, picking you up bridal style and rushing you over to a covered porch. He set you down to unlock the door, flipping a light switch before he stepped back. You walked past him, surprised to find the cabin quite spacious and modern.
He disappeared behind you, returning with your white paper bag, now wet. His boots were removed and you peeled off your soaked through socks, following him slowly as he went to the open kitchen area on the right. The bag was set down, Dean moving to his fridge and taking a few things out.
It was open concept, kitchen on the right, living room on the left, a dining table in the front by the windows. There was a hallway in the back and one off the kitchen, probably leading to bedrooms and a garage. A large fireplace was nestled in the corner of the living room and you saw Dean cross into your vision, going to it to toss in a few logs.
Honestly, it was nicer than your rental had been.
Once he had a fire going, he turned back to where you stood on the front rug, water dripping off of you. His lips pressed into a thin line, looking you up and down not like an Alpha would his Omega. No, he was being very clear.
You were the stray that’d followed him home he hadn’t wanted.
“I don’t have to be here,” you said when he approached, staring up at his dark eyes. “This isn’t normal. We’re supposed to be all over each other and clearly we’re not. We-”
“There’s a stew going on the stove. It’ll be ready in an hour. Just leave it alone.” He put a hand on the small of your back, walking you down to the back hall, motioning you to the last door on the left. He flipped on a light, cascading you into a cozy bedroom with soft white bedding and a dark green flannel blanket on top.
He cleared his throat and went to a closet, pulling out a few pieces including a t shirt, hoodie, sweatpants and pair of boxer briefs.
“You should warm up in the shower. Bathroom is right there. The laundry room is on the other side of the house, near the kitchen and garage. It’s coming down harder so it’ll take me a few hours to get to the rental and back here. You should-”
“Take it easy. Yeah, I got that.” He nodded, pausing at the bedroom door with his back to you.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m sorry this happened to you. You don’t deserve it.” You quirked your eyebrow up.
“You’re my Alpha. We’re soulmates. I guess this is supposed to happen.” He was still, the air thick. “I…listen I know I was…I wish I’d been aware of what I’d been saying but…”
He smelled tense, his hand in a tight fist by his side. What the fuck was up with this guy?
“Whether we like it or not, we’re mates,” you said gently. “When you get off that medicine, it’ll feel different-”
“I can never get off it and I can never knot you. You’ll never feel a damn thing for me.” Then he was gone, tearing down the hall and out the front door before you could even move.
An unpleasant shiver ran down your spine that he was right.
Your feet moved on autopilot to the bathroom, stripping out of the wet clothes and standing in front of the nicely tiled shower. In seconds you were under hot water, cascading down your back, through your hair. Fingers reached up to your neck, rubbing over your bond.
There were no sparks or flurry in your veins. You were supposed to be able to feel Dean, feel your connection, feel his soul.
But there was nothing. All you felt was empty.
You couldn’t feel the other part of your soul and he blamed himself.
“Fuck that,” you said, quickly finishing and getting dressed in the clothes aside from the sweatpants that were too long.
You found his computer in one of the spare bedrooms, stealing it along with a notepad and pen. Out in the kitchen, you settled into a seat at the island and drew a line down the middle of the pad. One side for information about Dean, the other Novi-Alpha.
With a quick stretch, you cracked open the laptop and got to work.
Three Hours Later
It was dark by the time headlights flashed through the front windows. The computer said it was just after six thirty and you knew you were about thirty seconds away from an argument. Ah, what a wonderful way to spend your first night with your Alpha.
Out of view you heard the door leading from the garage to the house crack open, wet boots against the tile in the mudroom.
“I’m back!” he called from around the corner. “We’ll unpack your stuff tomorrow. How was…”
Your eyes darted over to the hallway he exited from, his socked feet padding his footfalls on the woode floors that covered the rest of the house. He stared at where you had his laptop, a charger plugged into the side of the island, a stack of papers next to you, your notepad, pen, three different highlighters and a cup of coffee.
“Are…are you working?” He asked, face souring. “You should be resting. I thought you were here on vacation anyways.”
“I am and this isn’t work related.” He narrowed his eyes, not saying anything as he went to the sink on the other side of the island to wash up.
“Did you eat yet?” You shook your head, typing some more. A heavy sigh left him. He went to a cabinet, pulling out two large bowls. “You really should have eaten something. You nearly died this morning. Your school project can wait.”
“I’m not in college,” you said, jotting down a few more notes before you saved what you’d been working on and signed out of your account. You closed the screen, watching water trail down from his wet hair and soaking his shirt collar. “Why are you wet?”
“Because there’s a thunderstorm outside. It rains here most days,” he said dryly, giving you a side glare as he walked the two bowls of stew over to the kitchen table. You cocked your head at him as you got up, Dean quickly retrieving utensils. “What?”
“You parked in the garage just now and my cabin was far enough away that you’d be dry. Where’d you stop on the way back?” He slammed the drawer shut, eye twitching. “Strike a nerve?”
“I asked you to do one thing. One thing. Rest. And y-you’re writing a research paper or some crap? Sit down and eat your damn dinner.” You would have told him off but truth be told, you were starving a bit. You took your bowl and moved it to the seat across from his, Dean angrily setting down a spoon. A few moments later, a large glass of water was in front of you and he had a bottle of beer on his placemat. Dean sat with a loud thud, shoveling a large spoonful of food into his mouth.
“Why are you wet?” you asked again, crossing your arms.
“Why does it matter? Fucking eat.” You leaned back, Dean dropping his spoon in the bowl. “Really? This is how it’s gonna be? I’ve been nothing but nice-”
“If this is you nice then I’d hate to see you mean.” You raised your chin, picking up the spoon. “I’ve always heard alpha’s protective instincts are unmatched. You can barely feel whatever this bond is and you’re so worked up-”
“I almost watched you die today.” You closed your eyes and sighed. A small noise made you open your eyes, Dean sliding a small white box over to you. You frowned, lips parting when you saw the newest iPhone inside. “I got you a phone on the account your other one was in your pocket when you took your artic dip. I rushed to the store before they closed. That is why I’m wet. I’d never want you to feel like you’re trapped here, especially when you can’t feel our ‘whatever bond.’”
“Thank you,” you said quietly. You ate in silence, the only sounds coming from the rain on the roof, the clanking of spoons and the quiet thrum of a soft rock station in the living room.
He seemed…stressed. Maybe you should wait for the morning to bring up what you’d found.
But you didn’t get the chance when he picked up and glanced at your notepad. Green eyes scanned over the pages before he gathered up everything you’d been working on.
And tossed it straight into the fireplace.
“Hey!” you shouted, rushing over as he stopped you in your tracks. He leered down, eyes dark. “That was-”
“You will delete everything you saved on that computer. Now.”
“You can’t-” He gripped your arm tight, so hard he was shaking it.
“Do it or I will make your life hell.” He released you, spinning you around towards the computer. You didn’t believe he’d hurt you. True mates were incapable of it. But you didn’t want to tempt him anymore than you already had.
Ten minutes later, your backup was gone and after a through examination by Dean, he took the computer and tossed it into the fireplace as well.
“I know you have questions,” he said quietly, back to you as the flames danced around the melting device. “I never should have gone hiking this morning. You caught my scent in the wind and-”
“Why would you go hiking in the pouring rain? It was raining this morning too. I had my coffee under the covered porch but it was coming down like bullets. No one would be out there willingly.” He turned and faced you, eyes roaming over your body, stuck on how his boxer briefs molded to your legs.
“In another life, we could have been happy. I would have given you everything you asked for. But not this one. I will keep you safe but that is all we are. We don’t get our happy ever after until we’re both dead.”
You swallowed, stepping into the living room, stopping a few feet away. “You hurt my arm just now.”
“I know,” he said, closing his eyes. “I’m sorry. It won’t happen again as long as you don’t do stupid things.”
You were getting angry again, Dean holding up his hands. “Stupid shit like try to know my new Alpha who just left me all alone? Sorry for trying to look up your damn social media. Asshole.”
Dean dropped his hands and went back to the fireplace, poking the computer with a poker, shaking his head.
“The more in the dark you are-”
“I’m a corporate forensic analyst, Dean,” you said, Dean’s shoulders stiffening. “Those notes on the computer? In that pad? Those articles? You can burn them all but it’s in my head. I don’t need the internet anymore to figure out what’s going on.”
“And what does your analysis tell you?” he grit out.
“Novi-Alpha is a cancer medication specifically for Alphas. But you don’t have it and never have. So why would an otherwise healthy Alpha take it? Well, it apparently has other uses that the public doesn’t know about…if you’re willing to live with the side effects. Side effects like knotting becoming a deadly activity to the person on the receiving end. The inability to feel your mate. Scent changes. And my personal favorite, if taken without the binding agent that’s given for cancer treatment, it changes your DNA coding without changing your DNA. Apparently law enforcement doesn’t want that news to get out there because it’s a bitch to catch people if they find out they can change their DNA on tests.”
You grabbed his arm and made him face you, a loud crack of thunder echoing in the room. Dean breathed calmly, eyes finding yours.
“Why are you taking medicine to change your DNA?”
“Because I did something bad, Y/N.” He got closer, pressing his chest to yours, forcing you to tilt your head. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
Fingers brushed over your cheek, thumb swiping over the curve of it slowly. “Because your true mate is a monster. And once you know the truth, you’ll want to run away…and I don’t think I’m strong enough to let you go.”
The air was thick with his scent, dark yet pleasant. Painful even. You leaned into his touch, Dean’s green eyes widening ever so slightly.
“Novi-Alpha prevents Omegas from feeling their true mate. But I know you feel me.” You closed your eyes, breathing him in. “You have to tell me the truth eventually.”
“No I don’t,” he whispered.
“You’ll tell me,” you said, opening your eyes, Dean’s hand sliding down to your mark. “Because I’m in danger if you don’t.”
He shook his head, pulling away from you. “Don’t pull that crap, Y/N. You’re safer not knowing.”
“Right. That’s why you burned everything just now.” He looked up, like someone else would magically tell him what to do. “You need to protect me. It’s your job. So you have to tell me the truth, Alpha. You have to.”
He laughed quietly, running a hand through his damp hair. “Using my title to get what you want. Manipulative. Maybe you were meant for me.”
“Dean-”
“The Ranger.” You raised your eyebrows at him, Dean wandering to the dark window.
“Uh, what? This is because you’re a forest ranger?” He laughed again, crossing his arms.
“No. I do that because…it’s a pretty isolated job. Small town work.” He looked to his right, a sad smile on his face. “The Ranger. That was my name when I had a different job.”
“That’s not a name…” you said, Dean shrugging. “What’d you do when you were The Ranger?”
He smirked, meeting your curious gaze. “Have you ever killed anyone?”
He slowly stalked back to you, tilting his head. He leaned in close, glancing at your lips. “N-No, can’t say I have.”
“Ever kill an animal?”
“I hit a squirrel with my car once. I cried all night for that.” Dean rested his forehead against yours, his scent rolling off of him in powerful waves. “D-Do you hunt animals?”
“No.” He brushed his lips to the shell of your ear, his pulse strangely calm. “Now people, that’s a different story.”

A few minutes before Dean came back to the bunker, …
Your eyes snap open and you’re gasping for air. The first thing you do when you jolt up on your mattress is touch your mating gland. Another nightmare woke you from your dreams.
“Only a dream,” you whimper as your mating gland is still untouched. The monster didn’t get the chance to destroy it. “How…why?” Just now you hear someone growl outside your room. “What?”
“Dean, you need to stop!” You can hear Sam outside your room, and then something hits your door. “DEAN!”
“She’s mine!” That’s Dean, fighting with his brother to get inside your room. “I got the get her! Sammy, get out of my way!”
You hear a loud thud and something sounding like a heavy body dropping to the ground.
“OPEN THE DOOR!”
Tumblr media
Now, …
“OMEGA!” Dean steps inside your room. He sniffs in all directions, almost like a predator scenting his prey. “Omega?” A throaty purr leaves his lips catching your scent. “Y/N?”
You clasp one hand over your mouth. If Dean finds you in your hideout, he’ll not be able to control his instinct. He made it very clear, that you are not the woman he wants. Omega or not.
“Y/N, come out,” he crouches down to look under your bed. “There you are.” He lies flat on the floor, hand reaching out to touch your ankle. “Omega, you need to come here.”
“Go away,” you shrug his hand off your leg. “You can’t be here, Dean. Please leave my room. Your scent will ruin it. Please…”
“I can’t go,” he grabs your ankle again, tugging at it. You try to crawl away, but Dean won’t let go of your leg. “Get out from under your bed. We need to talk. Stop acting like a child.” Dean growls. You can hear him growl low in his throat.
Dean fights from control. If not, he’ll drag you out from under the bed and mate you. “Let me go.” You kick and scream as Dean crawls under the bed to wrap his arms around your body. “I’m warning you!”
“You need to calm down, or you’ll go feral,” he snarls in your ear. “I can smell you. Why did you reveal you’re an omega now?”
You wiggle in his grip and refuse to answer his question. “Let me go!”
“OMEGA!” You stiffen at his alpha command. While your instinct tells you to give in to Dean’s demands, you are too stubborn to obey. “Give in.” He sniffs your neck, purring low in his throat when you tilt your head. “Answer me.”
“I told you that I didn’t want you and Sam to believe I’m a liability,” you bite back. “And after you told me my presentation doesn’t change how you feel about me, I thought I could stop using suppressants and scent blockers. That shit is expensive!”
“What if Sammy would’ve lost control, huh? With an omega smelling like you around, he could’ve easily lost control,” Dean growls.
“Sammy doesn’t see me that way, Dean. He would never…”
“Nature gives a shit about feelings, Y/N,” he tightens his hold on you when you start wiggling again. “An alpha scenting an omega like you will lose control. You’re lucky I knocked him out.”
A cold shiver runs down your spine at Dean’s words. “You did what? Dean, you can’t just knock your brother out. What has gotten into you?”
”Do you know how hard I try to keep my alpha in control?” He nuzzles your neck. “If I let go, I’ll claim, mate, and knot you until you can’t walk straight for a week.”
“I won’t let you,” you ram your elbow into his stomach, making him growl. “You fucked Cassie not days ago. Do you honestly believe I’ll let you stick your dick into me?”
“Bad move, sweetheart,” Dean bites your neck. His teeth don’t leave a mark, but you stiffen and hold your breath. He grazes your mating gland with his teeth, making sure you know he’s not joking. “We won’t leave this room before we talk things out.”
“I need to get away from you, Dean! You smell like rut,” you’re out of breath from wiggling in his hold. “Please, you don’t want me.
“I smell like rut, but Castiel helped me suppress it,” he whispers in your ear. “Still, I’m struggling to hold back and not mate you.”
“You’re mine. Always were meant to be mine,” His voice dangerously low Dean snarls in your ear. “You had no right to hide your presentation from me. I tried so hard to stay away from you to not hurt you. I could’ve had my omega all this time!”
“Fuck you,” you snap at Dean before you ram your elbow into his solar plexus. He winces in pain and finally releases his hold on you.
You take the chance and crawl away, getting on your feet as fast as you can to go for a sprint. Dean is fast and strong. You must be faster to escape him.
“Y/N! Don’t!” He warns, but you are halfway out of the room. You slam the door shut behind you, holding your breath as you find Sam on the ground.
“Fuck. Sammy! He didn’t lie,” you crouch down to check on Sam’s pulse. He’s out cold, but he’s breathing. “I’m so sorry, Sam. He’s out of his mind…”
“OMEGA!”
“Shit,” you curse, and get back up to run along the hallways. If you can reach Sam or Castiel’s room, their scent will cover your scent. “Stay away from me!”
“Get back here!”
Dean chases after you. He curses under his breath as you speed up to dash toward his brother’s room. “I can see where you are going! There is no need to hide. I only want to talk to you.”
You stop in your tracks to look over your shoulder. Dean flashes you a toothy smirk, showing off his teeth. The last time he looked at you like that was when he was a demon – and that wasn’t a pleasant experience.
Dean dips his head, waiting for your next step. “Chasing me around the bunker won’t make me forgive you, Dean. You know this will end badly if you don’t stop right now. I’ll castrate you before I let you mate me.”
He chuckles darkly. His eyes glow, and his teeth look a little sharper when he smirks at you. “Sweet little omega, I’m going to chase you down.”
“Okay. That is enough,” you don’t know what has gotten into Dean, but this is not your friend. Something is more than wrong with him, and you fear he’ll go feral if you don’t stop him right now. “How about we talk this out?”
You tilt your head in submission to please the alpha. “How about we leave talking to bookworms and losers? I have something better in mind.”
“How about you fuck off you sonofabitch!” Your eyes widen when another Dean steps next to you to shove you behind his back. “That’s my omega!”
“Dean?” You look from the man holding a gun in his hand to the other Dean, the one chasing you around the bunker.
“I see you liked my face so much you had to copy it,” Dean jokes as he watches the shapeshifter smirk back at him. “Tell me, when did you touch me?”
“It was so easy. A crowded bar, with many people. I brushed past you and, voila, I knew everything about you and that sweet omega waiting to get bred,” the monster replies. “It was so easy to get inside the bunker and knock your brother out.”
“Well, newsflash asshole, this omega is mine,” Dean fires a round at the monster, throwing another one-liner at the shapeshifter as it drops dead to the ground.
Tumblr media
“He’ll be alright,” Dean says as you worriedly look at Sam. “I should’ve come home sooner.”
“I should’ve known that you would never—” you sniff. “I ran and left Sam behind. Why did I not realize that this wasn’t you? You would never want me and…”
“Sweetheart, we will talk about this tomorrow,” Dean places his hand on your shoulder. “For tonight, I want you to stay with Sammy while I get rid of the shapeshifter.”
“I…” you nod, even though, you wish you could confront Dean for all the things he said and did.
For tonight, you will stay with Sam and ignore the aching in your chest.
You can’t help but feel sad. At least the monster wanted you.

_____
The best thing about this pregnancy was no heats. Your cycle took a snooze and although you still craved the touch of an alpha at times, it was something you could handle yourself. And you did handle it yourself since you wanted nothing to do with the alpha that did this to you.
He was a means to ease your heat that one time, but he was all kinds of selfish and everyday you thanked your lucky stars he didn't claim you that night. Although, if he knew you were four months along that might change things. Simply because alphas are territorial and not because he actually loved you.
You were a hopeless romantic. Emphasis on hopeless, every alpha you met was the same. Controlling, arrogant and conceited. And because of that, there was no way you were going to let just any alpha claim you. No matter what.
You always wanted to be a mom and you didn't need an alpha like that. One pup was enough. You would raise this pup right and if they presented as alpha when the time came, they would be different.
It was near the end of November and it was cold outside but the pregnancy had you running hot, so you had the window cracked open as you watched your favourite holiday cooking show on Netflix. Just the sight of the food on the screen made your stomach rumble.
Pregnancy cravings are a bitch.
One minute it was sweet like chocolate and the next it was savoury like meat pie with gravy and mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce...
You raised your nose towards the open window in your living room and sniffed. Inhaling a deep intoxicating breath that went straight to your stomach and you felt your pup flutter happily.
Your neighbour was cooking something delicious and the pup wants what the pup wants. There was no use denying it, you'd be craving that smell all night if you didn't go over there.
You grabbed a chunky brown sweater from your room and tugged it on. Then padded over to your kitchen cupboard and grabbed a plate before you headed out the door in your slip-on boots.
This is ridiculous, you thought as you stood on your neighbour's porch.
You knew very well the guy next door was an alpha, you could smell him during his ruts and it was always the most intense musky scent. It wasn't unpleasant, but it was distracting and your heat usually hit around the same time. Still, you hadn't ever talked to him. He kind of intimidated you like any single alpha would to an unclaimed omega. So you kept your distance.
Until now.
You lifted your fist to knock.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
In the minute it took him to answer the door you didn't think twice about it. You only thought about that smell and you had to swallow to keep from drooling.
"Hi," you greeted, when your neighbour opened the door and you continued before he could get a word in, "My name's Y/N Y/L/N, I live next door and I was hoping I could have some of whatever it is you're cooking. I know this is really strange and kind of intrusive but the smell is making my mouth water and I just had to ask."
You held out your plate and pouted your bottom lip with big Y/E/C eyes looking up at him. He was taller than you thought, bigger shoulders too. And those green eyes of his stared back at you.
"It doesn't have to be much, just a little. Please?"
But then he smiled, "Of course. Come on in, neighbour."
He stood aside and held open the door. You only hesitated a moment before you stepped inside and let him shut and lock the door behind you.
"This way," he waved for you to follow him and headed down the hall.
You left your boots at the front door and padded after him with your plate in your hands. You stood at the entrance of the kitchen and inhaled with a big smile you didn't know you were wearing. Until you heard a chuckle from your neighbour.
"Here, let me take that." He said and you let him take the plate from your hands. You never felt this comfortable around an alpha before even when you were intimate with one. "Y/N. Aren't you going to ask my name?"
Oh right. "What's your name?"
"Dean," he smiled and set your plate on the counter. "Winchester."
"Thank you so much, Mr. Winchester. I really appreciate this."
He hummed and nodded, "No problem. And call me, Dean."
You swallowed again when he pulled the meat pie from the oven and dished out a couple of slices along with a scoop of mashed potatoes and a dollop of cranberry sauce.
Damn, pregnancy nose was spot on!
"I do have one condition, Y/N." He paused and looked up at your curious face. You started to get a little nervous this time. "I don't like eating alone, would you mind?" He asked as he placed your plate on the kitchen table across from his.
You froze and didn't answer. You just stared at him. Then Dean sighed and picked your plate back up. He slowly walked it over to you, still standing in the entrance, and handed it over.
"Thank you," you said and padded back towards the front door.
Dean exhaled loudly when you reached the entrance, still sulking in the kitchen and not bothering to see you out. You felt a shift and sniffed the air. The alpha smelt salty... lonely. Not dangerous. You paused at the door and looked down at your plate, then back over your shoulder at the entrance to the kitchen.
"It'll probably get cold on the walk home." You stated, walking back into the kitchen and sitting across from Dean at the table. You gave him a soft smile.
You didn't know why but you didn't feel threatened around Dean, despite the alpha within. You stabbed into the slice of meat pie with your fork and hummed around a bite. Savoury and buttery and flakey. It was perfect.
You started purring and Dean's scent changed again. He was happy. Really happy. You stopped eating and met his smirk.
"Is it that good?" He asked and you couldn't help purring a little louder as you nodded. "I'm glad."
Purring wasn't something you did often. Only when you were extremely content and you couldn't stop it even when it became embarrassingly loud. Dean didn't seem to mind though, he actually looked kind of flattered.
"Can I have some water?" You asked between purrs.
"I can do better, how about some wine? I have red," he offered and raised his eyebrows in question as he stood from his seat.
You couldn't drink but you didn't want to tell him why. It was still early to be telling people.
"Water's fine."
"Okay. Can you get me two glasses from the cupboard and I'll grab the Brita from the fridge." He asked as he pointed to the cupboard behind you.
"Sure." You purred.
You had to stretch a little to grab the glasses off the shelf, one in each hand, and your chunky sweater rode up a little when you did.
"Are these ones okay?"
Dean growled and snapped behind you. You started and spun around to see him baring his teeth and staring at your stomach. You stopped purring instantly and dropped the glasses to tug your sweater back down. You were just starting to show.
"Sorry. I'm sorry." Dean shook his head and raised his hands. "I'm so sorry. I didn't-"
"Maybe I should go..."
"No."
"This is on me, Dean. This wasn't a good idea. I never should've barged in here. I'm gonna go." You said, holding a protective arm over your bump and stepping over the broken glass on the floor.
"You don't have to." Dean pleaded and took a step closer.
"I think I need to, thank you for everything."
"Omega. Sit." He ordered and took a deep calming breath. You hesitated at your title and sniffed the air, smelling his fear fade away. "I didn't mean it, okay? I'm just getting a lot of new scents from you, it's confusing as hell but I wouldn't ever hurt you. You can take my word on that." He glanced at the hand you kept on your lower stomach and added, "I won't harm your pup either, Y/N."
"New scents?" You asked.
That implied he scented you before the pregnancy but this was the first time you've ever interacted with him. So how could that be?
"You can smell me when I go into rut, right?" You nodded. "I can smell you when your heat kicks in." He exhaled and rubbed the scruff on his chin, "It's intense. Sometimes it feels like you're in the room with me, sometimes I wish you were... but most of the time, I have to keep myself from going over there. I don't like it when you need me and I can't do a damn thing about it."
Alphas naturally run a few degrees hotter so it wasn't a surprise to see the window in his kitchen open. And your houses were fairly close together, so it wasn't entirely impossible to scent each other during your cycles when your pheromone levels were at their highest. But because it wasn't a direct scent it made sense that a slight change in yours, like a pregnancy, could throw him off.
“You leave your windows open a lot, which I’ve been meaning to talk to you about. You know you shouldn’t do that, right? I mean anyone could just break in, especially when you smell as good as you do." He explained, probably a little more than he wanted by the way he cringed at himself. "I just want you and your pup to be safe."
You spent a long minute just watching him and sniffing the air. Still, he didn't strike you as a threat. He looked at you the way no other alphas did and he kept including your pup so you knew he cared about the both of you.
"I don't think anyone's stupid enough to try something when an alpha lives next door." You pointed out.
Alphas were primal creatures. It didn't matter if he claimed you or not. If he smelt a scared omega in his territory -next door, he would have the instinct to protect you or at least rip the throat out of whoever was threatening you.
"What about the alpha?" He asked.
"He keeps to himself."
"And what if he can't do that anymore?" He slowly slid into his seat at the table and rested his head in his hand as he looked up at you.
He looked defeated. Like he was tired of denying the connection he felt to you. You weren't sure what you felt. You didn't know what to say and you started to get nervous that he may want to claim you. Right here, right now.
"Then I guess it depends on what he does next." You answered, still standing and shifting your weight from foot to foot under his gaze. "I've had enough asshole alphas in my life, Dean."
"I won't force anything on you, Omega. I just want to be near you." He promised as if he read your mind.
"Don't call me 'Omega'. We don't know each other that well and I don't like it." You hardened your face and he nodded like he understood.
'Omega' was something you reserved for your mate. Future mate, someone you trusted completely. It made you feel primal urges when you heard it and you had been fighting the urge to sit down with him since he told you to.
"Please, stay." He whispered and stared at his plate.
Dean's scent was turning salty again and you soured your nose. You hated that scent on him and you would do anything to make it go away. You ignored the glass on the floor and slid back into your seat at the table across from him.
"Why does your house always smell so amazing?" You asked, poking at your food with your fork. You teased, "Are you like always baking or something?"
This hadn't been the first time you smelt something so delectable that you wanted to demand a piece of the pie, so to speak. You had to stop yourself many times and wound up stuffing your face with Oreos or bread instead. But the pregnancy made those cravings a hundred times worse, so there was no stopping you when they struck today.
"I own a bakery, so yeah," Dean smiled and followed your lead when you started to eat again. "I'm usually trying new recipes or whipping up a snack for fun."
"Wait, so you bake all day and then come home and bake some more?" You smiled and the alpha in Dean blushed as he nodded with a chuckle. "Well, if you ever need a taste-tester, you know where to find me. I'm always hungry these days."
You rubbed your slightly swollen stomach and took a bite of mashed potatoes. Creamy and cheesy and you shut your eyes for a moment as you savoured the taste in your mouth.
"I'm guessing there's not an alpha in the picture?" Dean alluded as he stirred his potatoes and licked his fork. "I should've asked earlier but I didn't know," he glanced down as if he could see your bump underneath the tabletop.
"There's not," you stated dryly and mixed the cranberry sauce into your mashed potatoes. Salty and sweet, a perfect combination.
"Must be an idiot," Dean muttered under his breath.
"Huh?"
"Not to claim you the second you took his knot." He explained and added a 'Sorry' when he smelt your unease.
You ate the rest of your meal in a silence that wasn't entirely uncomfortable, exchanging glances with Dean between bites. He smiled at you a bunch more times and when the meal was over he sent you home with half the leftovers.
The next few weeks felt more and more as if he was courting you. Twice a week he'd leave gifts on your doorstep; pies, bread baskets, mini muffins, donuts, gingerbread men, sugar cookies. Some stuff he made at the bakery and some were new recipes he tested in his kitchen during restless weeknights. Then on the weekends you'd join him for a meal, usually dinner and usually at his place since his oven was fully operational. There was an element burnt out on yours and he offered to fix it but you weren't ready to let him into your home; not yet.
You were so grateful for the alpha next door. Sure, because he fed you delicious treats, but mainly because he treated you and your pup with respect. He was everything you wanted your pup to be and more.
He even accompanied you to doctors appointments and bought the pup a Led Zeppelin onesie. He was acting like a mate without all the scary alpha undertones. He did things because he cared and he wanted you both healthy and happy.
You had almost given up hope that an alpha like him existed. And this whole time he was right next door.
You wanted to show Dean just how much you appreciated him, so you invited him over for Christmas Eve dinner; since you were both busy with family on the day of. You planned to cook him a big meal and give him a break, but he showed up a couple hours early to switch out your broken element for a new one. And after that you couldn't kick him out of the kitchen if you tried, so you relented and let him help.
"Do you wanna see the pup's room?" You asked after dinner.
You were too full for dessert, though you were positive you could go back for it in about an hour when your stomach made room. Dean started the dish washer and turned around to face you. You hadn't taken him on a tour of the house yet and he seemed content at the idea.
He tried to hide the smirk on his lips, "Are you sure you're alright with that, Om- Y/N?" He was trying to be respectful of your space.
"Mhm." You purred and grabbed his hand.
You tugged him along with you, up the stairs and into the first room on the left. The pup's room. You hadn't painted it yet and you weren't sure if you were going to, it didn't need it, but you did decorate the walls with posters of cartoon animals. There was a crib on the far end, and a bookshelf filled with children's books and plushie toys, and a La-Z-Boy recliner in the corner next to it.
"I already had a lot of this stuff. Except for the crib, that's new, and I've been collecting books since I found out. I still need a changing table and a dresser and maybe a few other things that I'm probably forgetting." You said and bit your lip as Dean scanned the room.
"This is awesome, I especially like the sleeping sloth poster 'Dream Big'." He chuckled, but walked over to the recliner when he spotted something. He picked up the large stuffed grey wolf that sat in it. Then smiled as he held it up to you, "You kept it!"
Dean won the stuffed animal at the carnival he brought you to last weekend by throwing baseballs at tin bottles. He wanted you to have it for your pup and he was really excited to see that it was in the room now. He really was the sweetest man alive.
"Are you kidding me?! Of course I did!" You said and walked up to him to plant a kiss on his scruffy cheek.
It was the first time either of you did anything intimate like that. Dean's neck flushed at the contact and the red crept up into his cheeks and the tips of his ears. He cleared his throat nervously and set the stuffed wolf back in the recliner. His natural musky scent got a little stronger and you could feel his body heat radiating off of him.
"The pup's gonna love this, Y/N. I can help you get the rest of the stuff, whatever you want." He said and kissed your forehead sweetly.
There was no need to rush, you were only five months along and already better prepared than you ever were. "We have lots of time, Alpha."
You didn't mean to say it, 'Alpha'. It just slipped out but once you said it you couldn't take it back. It felt right. Dean was your mate and by the looks of it, he knew that well before you did. He was just trying to ease you into it.
"Omega," Dean growled, "Don't tease me."
"Do you want to see the master bedroom?" You asked and tilted your head to the side as you looked up at him. You already thought of your house as being his home too, "Our room."
You didn't go into heat since you were already pregnant and that just didn't happen with pregnant omegas, but you felt that flutter in your chest that told you he was the right one. The alpha you wanted to claim and have claim you back. You wanted to be his and he as sure as the moon was high in the sky, wanted to be yours.
You had no doubts that he would treat your pup as his own, he never acted otherwise and always wanted to be by your side. Feeding you treats that were 'Good for the pup'. You had a feeling that if you let him, he would get a whole lot more clingy and protective too. But you wanted a doting alpha and you welcomed it when he lifted you in his arms.
Dean pressed his nose to the crook of your neck where your mating gland was and inhaled, long and deep. He was scenting you for real this time and you scented him back as you wrapped your legs around his waist. He growled happily when your bump pressed to his tummy and you could smell his rut coming on strong. His skin was dewy and hot and you liked the warmth under your palms as you held onto the back of his neck.
Then he walked you out of the pup's room in search of yours.
"Which way, Omega?" He asked when he got you out into the hall.
"Last door on the right," you said, nibbling on his neck where you knew an alpha to be the most sensitive.
Dean gently dropped you on the king-sized bed and you crawled into the nest of blankets and pillows. He watched as you moved a few things and made enough room for him to crawl in after you.
"Come, Alpha. It's okay." You patted the open spot beside you in bed, but Dean hesitated.
"Fuck, this is the worst timing," he muttered to himself and you saw him visibly shudder. "I can feel my rut coming on fast, Y/N, I don't wanna hurt you or the pup. I should -I should go." He swallowed thickly and glanced at the door like he was trying to convince his feet to move.
An alpha would normally still go into ruts if his omega was pregnant, so it was natural and you knew he wouldn't hurt either of you. Even when things turned carnal and you knew he wouldn't claim you unless it was safe for the pup; that's just who Dean was. He was an alpha hardwired to protect and care for those he loved, not inflict pain or hardship to satisfy his own needs. He was different, he was a real mate, and you wouldn't leave him on his own when he needed you most.
"Alpha. Bed. Now."
Dean laughed and wiped the sweat from his forehead and upper lip. It wasn't common for an omega to order an alpha around but he listened to you and crawled into the nest beside you.
"Comfy?" You asked when he curled around your body and pressed his cheek to your bump. He shivered and placed a palm over your stomach. "I trust you, Dean. You won't hurt us, Alpha."
He didn't respond, instead he pressed his nose to your bump and scented the pup for the first time. Deep breath in, deep breath out and he stopped shaking. And started purring.

SAM
Cas was actually right. She’s fine. The babies are fine. I don’t know if I’d call it a miracle, but it’s a win and we’ll take it. The doctors asked her if she’d be interested in being included in a medical paper. She told them she’d think about it, being warned by an angel about our claim imbalance is a bit harder to reproduce in further studies.
And the last thing we really want is more questions.
She smells like sunbaked wheat fields and some kind of pastry, warm and comforting as she nuzzles me awake. Dean’s on his belly, head shoved between his pillows snoring gently. He’s dreaming vaguely, so I know we’ve got time to ourselves. I reach down and palm her ass, scooping her onto my lap as I tug the sheer nightgown up by my fingers.
She’s bare against my belly as she starts to kiss me, slow and teasing. I eat it up.
I hold her jaw in the palm of my hand slowly lap into her mouth, tasting and tempting as she gets wetter against me. She’s so solid now, the pups’re over a pound each and getting bigger every appointment. I want to keep her close, make sure she’s this healthy and safe always. Fill her up over and over so no one questions that she is spoken for, claimed by and possessing both our hearts. I need to be inside her, ten minutes ago.
She groans and then chuckles knowingly. “Your rut is coming up, I can smell it, it’s almost smokey on your skin.”
“What are we gonna do?” I ask, worry sinking in my gut.
“What we always do, fuck like crazy, hydrate. Rinse and repeat.”
“But what about the pups?”
She smirks down at me like I’m an idiot. “Sam, alphas have been fucking their pregnant omegas since the begining of time. Rut sex isn’t a threat, unless you tie me down and leave me somewhere—”
“I would nev-”
She brushes her thumb over my lips. “I know, stud, I know. I’m just saying. We’ll get through it. Dean might be pissy, but he gets his turn soon enough.”
I nod against her hold on my chin and she rewards me with a firm kiss. I hug her close and breathe in the calm she radiates, nosing against her hair. I won’t hurt her. I can’t.
She reaches between our bodies and starts stroking me back to life. I groan, watching as she rubs against my side, riling herself up just as much. I spin us on to our sides and she rolls to slot her ass against me, keeping it quiet for Dean, who’s still asleep behind me.
"Easy," I murmur and kiss the back of her neck. I sink inside her slowly, inch by inch. She's even tighter at this angle and I close my eyes and breathe. I need to make this last for her.
She gasps and starts rocking against me, so I pull her tighter to my chest. The smell of her slick fills the room and I love her so much I don't know what to do with it all. I cup her tit and marvel at how heavy they've gotten, nuzzling against my claim on her neck.
I push into her in shallow rolls. My knot is hot against her ass. But we're in no hurry. She keeps sighing and squeezing me. My name coming out in little slices of whisper.
  "It's okay, baby."
She breaks off on a moan and I brush my fingers over her nipple to give her more. But I keep it slow, building, trying not to rush anything. She pulls my fingers off her nipple and sucks them into her mouth, which is just —- then she drags them out and down to her clit. And as I slide them against that swollen nub, she clenches and my knot throbs. I gasp against her hair, trying to breathe through it all.
Stopping myself from fucking her into the mattress, because I know she likes to be tossed around, even now.
“Make me come first, Alpha—- Sam, please, I’m so close—,” she demands more than begs and I’m fucking trying, but she’s so wet I’m losing any purchase I have on her clit. I seal her lips around it, and rub, feeling it all hot and grinding against my hand. She’s digging her nails into the back of my neck, holding me as close as we can get from this angle and I’m going to explode.
I teeth down the side of her face, landing on the hinge of her jaw and instead of biting her, I suck the smooth skin into my mouth. I can feel her blood drawing into the bruise, the delicious heat. Her claws are latched into my flesh and she keens, coming with a bucking thrash against my side— her legs kicking the last of the blankets off my side of the bed.
I lick the sweat off her neck and pin her mound with the heel of my hand as I finish rutting my knot into her pulsing core. God— I swear I don’t know how I fit, but she fucking makes room for me or something because when I lock into place it’s like the first day out of the cage again. Her scent floods me with completion— contentment and I’m blinking away the tears. Mine. Ours. Us.
I place my hand on her belly, dragging it up and down, feeling the shape of our pups inside and I pour even more pride and love into the air.
When we wake up, Dean’s gone. He left us a note saying: ‘Have a good rut. Fridge is stocked.’
*
It takes us two days to realize Cas and Bobby are gone too, between the house and salvage yard it’s a ghost town and we both know that can’t be good. But I can’t go and find anybody with a constant erection and reeking of rut. Besides, she’s got us nested down so good I’d probably lose my nuts if I even suggested we leave.
We’re both exhausted, but hydrated. And I’m eating her out like I’m going for the record. Not that Dean and I keep score, or anything. Or at least not that she knows about.
She’s riding my face and I can’t even see her tits anymore, her belly’s so big and that’s saying something because her tits have never been better. Fuck she’s so close I can taste the change in her slick— like it gets ultra concentrated just before —- I’m drowning in it, slurping it up and feeling her thighs trembling against me.
I’m hard as fucking steel and I don’t even want to touch my dick. I want to stay here on the verge of suffocation surrounded by my mate’s scent, her warmth. It makes me think of poems from school, of dying willing in your lover’s arms. Take my life, it is already yours.
And then she’s gone, slumped against the pillows and fanning herself as she catches her breath. I grin at her and wipe my mouth off with the back of my arm. She rolls her eyes at me and beckons me closer. I fall against her, hugging her middle as best I can while arching around the pups. My dick is persistent, but remains ignored along her leg.
She plays with my hair and I moan as she starts to scratch my scalp.
I can smell it on her before she voices it out loud, but still she says. “I’m worried about Dean, Sam.”
“I know, me too.”
"Do you think the Leviathans got them?”
“No. I don’t.”
“Just like that. No?” She looks at me like I’m lying to her, which I haven’t been able to manage since I got my soul back.
I shake my head, chewing on the explanation for my conviction. “It’s just, we’d feel it if something big happened, wouldn’t we? I think they’re hunting, but I don’t think it’s Def Com 6 here. Plus Cas and Bobby are with him— Dean’s gonna be fine.”
“You’re not just saying that because you want to keep fucking like rabbits, right?”
I sigh and try not to glare at her. But she smirks at me and I know she knows I was being sincere. “Very funny.”
“Dean’s not the only one that can give you shit, mister,” she teases, sinking further down my body to plop into my lap.
I nuzzle my nose against hers and she hums before she kisses me firmly on closed lips. “Even though you’re sure, I’d feel better if everyone was back home. So! Let’s see if we can get this rut over quickly then, just in case.”
I shake my head at her front of nonchalance, but agree wholeheartedly. “Can’t argue with that.”
*
They pull into the driveway two days later, dragging the impala behind them in Bobby’s truck. And they’re not alone. Cas and Meg ride in on the bed of the truck, presumably because they couldn’t be killed by something as inconsequential as an accident. And there’s Charlie, who I’ve only really talked to on the phone, looking a little dazed, but enthusiastically climbing out of the cab to shake hands with Y/N and me. Both Bobby and Dean look like they haven’t slept in days, and Dean’s got a shiner and his new coat is still covered in Leviathan juice.
“So?”
“We got him, Sammy. Dick’s dead. They’re all gone.”
“What, seriously? How?!”
“Bone of a nun, straight to the neck,” Dean gestures and grins, wagging his eyebrows. “I stuck it to ‘em.”
Our Omega, having enough of Dean’s antics, pulls him in for a proper scenting, opening his jacket and looking him over as he rests his hands on her hips, widening his stance so he is low enough to look her in the eye. “I’m fine, honey, really.”
“Tell me everything, from the beginning, like how you ran out on us without any way of knowing where you were!” She fumes, shaking him by the collar and pushes him away. Dean barely has to step back to withstand the weak force of her shove. He sighs and rolls his neck to look at me for back up. I hold up my hands and claim no loyalty in this spat.
He flips me off.
“Look, Sammy needed you here and, well, we got word it was time to move on the head honcho, so we took it.”
“What happened to Baby?”
Meg spoke up for the first time, husky voice deliberately unmussed. “That would be me. Drove her through their little glass welcome screen. Lucky me, I got to be a diversion.”
The story slowly unravels, Charlie sneaking Dean and Cas in. Cas identifying the real Dick Roman or the head chomper wearing his face. Saving the prophet Kevin, who they somehow lost when Crowley stepped in to help. And Cas flying Dean out of the blast zone just in time before the Leviathans got literally sucked back into Purgatory.
“So, uh, we’ve still got some clean up to do. Finding the kid. But I think —” Bobby explains before he gets cut off by Cas.
“We did good.”
“You’re damn right we did,” Dean agrees, holding hands with the mother of our children as we all drink and eat around the large banquet table Bobby built for us.
I can’t believe it’s over. “Well, Crowley can’t be too hard to get a lead on. We’ll get Kevin back to his mom.”
And just like that the mood turns sober. Before long, Bobby and Y/N take Charlie back to his house to help get a room ready for her to crash in until she gets her next move figured out. Which leaves Meg, Cas, Dean and I continuing to sip our drinks and shoot the shit.
“Look at you Winchesters, properly domesticated and everything,” Meg teased, eyeing the beams above her head and taking in the quality of Dean and Bobby’s craftsmanship.
“I know, right?” I agree, unable to stop the heat that burns across my cheeks.
“Awww, it’s okay, Sam. Maybe we all deserve a little bit of happiness this side of the apocalypse,” Meg says to Cas more than anyone. Cas, who had been eerily quiet, suddenly looks up and they lock eyes with something earnest and maybe a little dirty passing between them.
I clear my throat before Dean gets offended, because he’s already weirded out that we broke the warding for Meg. “You guys have any plans? Cas, any word from Daphne?”
“Uh, no, unfortunately when I didn’t return promptly from my first visit, she slowly realized that my abilities couldn’t be the claim to fame she was seeking. So, we parted ways and as I couldn’t be legally married as I don’t exist as a citizen, we didn’t really have to annul anything.”
“Heartbreaker,” Meg taunts.
“Wow, that’s good, Cas. I guess. One less loose end,” Dean agrees.
“I know you’ve been hanging out with Bobby a lot, thinking about sticking around? The more the merrier, right Dean?” I ask pointedly.
“I hadn’t really thought about it. I need to talk to Heaven, see if I can begin to atone. But it would be nice to have a homebase of sorts on Earth,” Castiel replies almost shyly.
“Well, you know where to find us, man. Because until those pups are out and until they’re walking, we’ve got one job to do,” Dean says and it all hits me. We don’t have to keep hunting. Sure, we can, but we don’t have to. We can have a life. Bobby will put us to work and we’ll do what we can for money, but once Kevin is safe. We’re just gonna be dads.
It’s unreal.

DEAN
It’s been two weeks since we took down Dick and yet Meg and Cas and hell, even Charlie have stuck around. Though Bobby won’t let Meg in his house, considering she tried to kill him at least once. But at this point, who hasn’t she tried to kill?
Charlie’s fascinated with all things hunting and the demon-angel team up sounds like something out of one of her video games so she can’t stop asking questions. Bobby’s actually having a lot of fun having her around, think she’s growing on the old bastard by sheer earnestness. And there’s our Omega, who is about fit to burst. She’s gone through the babies’ room everyday trying to figure out what we forgot, what we’re missing.
Her waddling around like that makes me stupid and proud, but also just so damn happy that I start putting my foot in my mouth because it all seems too good to be true. Sam hates it when I piss her off, but it’s not like it’s intentional. I just can’t leave well enough alone.
The current argument is over names. Because everybody’s healthy in there, so we start getting serious about these pups we’re gonna meet any day now.
“Do not say John again— I will smack you,” Y/N growls.
“Dean, yeah, man, come on,” of course Sam agrees with her.
I know my dad’s name comes with a lot of baggage, but I still miss the son of a bitch anyway. Just not quite why she’s got such a vendetta against it, it’s a classic name.
I grumble and concede this time. “Okay, fine, what do you like?”
“Jasper or maybe Jeremiah,” she replies, not bothering to look up from her little notebook that she has them all listed out on.
“Can we stay away from Pop culture names? Jasper is really popular lately,” Sam asks delicately, because yeah, we’re not doing the vampire name game, but still I hold my breath waiting for her to explode.
She sighs and crosses it off the list.
I see how tired she is and rub her knee under the table. “How about we go back to the girls’ names? Huh? Maybe if we get a small enough pool, we can narrow down the boy’s name better.”
We discuss names for another hour. Nobody agrees on any three names. But there’s some progress. Sort of.
Sam makes fajitas and I go and find Cas, even though he doesn't eat, gotta let everybody know it’s dinner time. He’s standing in one of the fields that I’m pretty sure don’t belong to Bobby, but I’m not about to go tattling either.
“Hey, man, soup’s on.”
Cas turns on me, all squinty eyed and concerned. “Hello, Dean.”
“Can you grab Meg and tell her to wash up for dinner? Sam says it will be ready in a minute here. I’ll go tell Charlie and Bobby.”
He walks with me towards the main house, but something must be up because he’s extra quiet. Not like listening to the universe or angel radio quiet, just thoughtful. He doesn’t go looking for Meg and soon we are stomping up the back steps in through Bobby’s kitchen.
“Dean? How did you know you were ready to take a mate?” Cas' question comes out of left field, but it also makes a lot of sense with the way he’s been acting.
“Uh— I don’t think I was ready, man. I mean, look at us, we kind of fucked things up before we really got it right. Why?”
“I also seemed to have—- fucked things up. When I lost my memories— with Daphne. But I realize now that I probably wouldn’t be able to make a human mate happy.” Cas looks up at me with a wavering dare in his eyes.
“Oh, shit!” I can’t believe he means—
“Don’t tell Sam, not yet. I just have begun thinking about pursuing her.”
“Yeah, man, I get it. But what about making amends with Heaven? A demon mate can’t be too far down on the No-No list.”
“Mating in general is considered beneath us, Dean.”
I can’t help the heat of shame that rises up, gaping at my best friend like a middle schooler during health class. But Cas has been in the trenches with us mud monkeys long enough, I guess I had forgotten just how holy he was. Maybe it’s also because we’re standing in Bobby’s too small kitchen and I can feel the old man’s eyes on me like an overzealous librarian.
“You got a reason for busting in here with your locker room talk or just felt the need to make everyone else uncomfortable?” Bobby glares at me then looks at Charlie who just waves innocently.
“Uh, food?” I swallow and try again. “Dinner’s ready.”
By a fucking miracle, we all make it to our place without more oversharing on anybody’s part.
*
Everything is so loud, but it’s like background loud, sitting next to a horror movie showing loud. Which is fitting, because there’s a lot of blood. And it’s getting harder to see, but I can’t do anything about it because my hands are full.
“Hey, kiddo. I’m your dad— one of ‘em anyway.” I swear she turns and looks at me, like she knows the sound of my voice. But her eyes are squeezed shut and she’s still screaming. And I’m crying worse than she is, because she’s here and she’s healthy and Y/N is a fucking miracle worker. She’s perfect.
They’re all perfect.
Sam’s got the boy while the doctors clean up his little girl. She had a cord wrapped around her neck, but they could see everything once they got in there, so she’s fine. Sophia. That’s the name Sam and Y/N picked for her. Wisdom. It fits.
I’m bouncing Joni, trying to get her to calm down as they put our Omega back together again. I walk over to where her face is behind the curtain, show her how amazing she is. How awesome our pup is. Pups are.
“Hey, Mama,” I can’t keep the tease out of my voice, I’m just so fucking happy. “Somebody wants to say hi.”
“Hi!” She sobs out, reaching as best she can with her arms pinned down to kiss a tiny forehead.
The nurses clear some room on her chest, get her arms free so she can hold her, skin-to-skin they say. Once I know she’s got Joni good, I go and see how Sophie’s doing. Her cry is reedy, softer than her sister’s but still breaks my heart wide open. Once the nurse says I can, I scoop her up and hold her tight against my shoulder, whispering to her as we bounce-step over to her mom.
“Sorry, sweetheart, we had to give Mama a minute. But now we’ve got you. Everybody’s safe.” I tell her as much as myself. I lock eyes with Sam as he is scenting Jimmy’s dark head. Leave it to our son to come out with a full head of hair.
He’s not talking, but I can tell Sam’s just as much a mess as I am. I walk over and show off Sophie and he hands me our boy in exchange. He’s all wide eyed and looking around at everybody. Never seen a baby so alert. But I’m guessing that will change. These three are gonna put us all through the ringer— fill our lives with the new and the unknown.
It’s mesmerizing. And terrifying.
It’s a long time before they move us into a family room, they don’t even let us carry them down the hall. Instead we have three little plastic boxes on wheels that we push, along with a nurse, behind Y/N’s gurney. They help her figure out how to feed them. And I know Sam’s listening to all the technical crap about latching and pumping.
But I am just amazed at her, exhausted as she is, cooing down at our pups as they nurse. Joni’s the smallest, but they all made it long enough to not have to worry about being hooked up to anything. Which I am gonna call Cas out on later, because the odds were near impossible on avoiding a NICU stay with triplets, but somehow we managed it.
Joni and Jimmy have been burped and are sleeping in their little blanket burritos tucked into a single bassinet. They’re used to close quarters and I can already tell they’re better together than apart. Sophie sleeps against Y/N chest, too tired from being born to really eat yet, but the nurse says it’s normal. Sam grabbed a shower and eventually Y/N will get a turn, but she’s got to worry about all the stitches and staples, so it might be just sponge baths for a few days.
I try not to get excited about helping her with those.
We’ve got a lot more things to worry about now. And that kind of thinking got us here in the first place. I lose the last layer of scrubs and  leave the bathroom door open so I can hear them if they need me, if a nurse catches a peek, who cares at this point. Finally, we’re all clean and wedged on her bed, a baby a piece and everything quiets down. We shift and scent and just exist together for the first time, all six of us. God, it’s a whole pack now. We’re a real family.
Nothing will ever be better than this.

Five Years Later
Bobby
If I wasn’t already losing my hearing, the shrieking coming out of the backseat would have done it. I pull up to the drive in and wait for the carhop to come and take our orders. Don’t tell Rufus, but this minivan handles pretty damn well.
“Grandpa? Can I have poppers?” Joni asks like it’s normal for a little girl to be ordering deep fried peppers.
“No, doll, we’re having dinner at home. This is just a quick treat, but don’t go telling on me. Your dad will be all whiney about ruining your dinner and your daddy will be mad we didn't bring him home anything.”
They all giggle.
The waitress taps on my window and I tell her, “four rootbeer floats please. Extra napkins if you got ‘em.”
“Sure thing, hun. That’ll be eighteen eighty.”
I give her a twenty and a couple of singles, waving away the offer of change.
“Thanks, it’ll be right up.”
I can feel them all fidgeting in their little booster seats, so I turn around and unbuckle myself to talk to them better. “You have fun today?”
Sophie’s staring out the window and hugging her little ratty stuffed rabbit. But she smiles and nods. Joni and Jimmy are both bellowing, trying to be louder than the other. “Yes! It was so fun!”
“Good.” I say, trying not to get too pleased with myself.
The mugs arrive and the pups are sticky from head to toe by the time we hand them back to the carhop, mostly empty. The extra napkins get wadded up and shoved into a grocery bag Y/N keeps on a little hook in here. Shoulda grabbed some baby wipes before we left. Friggin’ evidence is gonna get us all in trouble.
I check that their belts are tight and that Jimmy can reach both of his sisters’ hands if he needs to. Once we’re all set for the drive home, Sophie’s already nodding off. Then Jimmy conks out. Silly Miss Joni singsongs herself to sleep just as I’m pulling into the driveway. It’s nice out. We’ll leave them in there with the windows down until they wake up. With three of ‘em we’ve learned to pick our battles.
And the fresh air and afternoon sunshine will be a better way to wake up than yanking them out of their seats only to try and force them back to sleep after a fright and a carry upstairs.
I let myself in and hang up the van keys by the rest of them. Somebody’s in the library and somebody's snoring upstairs. I go warn Sam to finish his chapter outside on the porch and then make my way back to my place. I pass Charlie’s little trailer and don’t bother to knock, she’s hunting with Jody and the girls this week, but make sure she didn’t leave any lights on.
Cas and Meg’s place is aways in the back, more of a house than a barn, since we did it from the ground up. But it suits them, as much as they come and go. Then there’s Garth and Bess, never figured I’d have nearly a full set of monsters for neighbors, but life is nothing if not surprising. They’re expecting their first pup in a couple of months. I’ve been working on fixing up an old conversion van for them, but parts take forever. It’s funny, never saw that dipshit so normal as he is as a werewolf.
Kevin stops by from time to time, but that’s between research positions. He graduated from college and is working on a doctorate already. His mother calls me once a month whether I’ve heard from him or not. I don’t hate the check ins.
The birthday party is tomorrow, giving everybody more time to make it in.
I can’t believe the kids are already five. Starting school next fall and everything. It makes me feel every inch a grandpa. Because I remember when Sam was that size and now he’s got his own to worry over. It’s been years, but it feels like yesterday. I check that the gifts I have tucked away for them are still safely hidden, because the rascals are curious little things. Had to move the Christmas presents to Jody’s after last year, got into them a whole week before I even had my tree up.
*
“Okay, time! Time. Sophie, it’s Jimmy’s turn,” Dean braves the terribly aimed swings of the old broom and catches it before she swipes into the snack table. Jimmy’s been waiting with his blindfold looped around his neck. The crepe paper donkey is swinging idly where Y/N holds the rope over the branch.
Everyone here knows this is going to take awhile. But without any other kids in line, we’re gonna let them have their fun.
“Good job Sophia!” Cas calls through his hands. She peeks out of her blindfold and groans at the fully intact pinata.
“Jimmy! Whack it good!” Joni crows and everyone cheers along with her. Sam collects Sophie’s blindfold and ties it around Joni’s neck as she waits for her turn. Sophie slumps over and leans against me like she’s run a marathon.
I don’t bother asking her what’s wrong, she’s a pouter, but she’s not showy about it. She thinks she didn’t do a good enough job, so I’m just gonna hold her while she watches her brother fall over himself missing the moving target too. Joni gets a good couple thwacks in, but the dumb donkey’s still holding all the candy when Dean decides it’s his turn.
“Now you watch, your daddy isn’t gonna be able to get it either.” And bless her, Y/N kept that pinata out of Dean’s reach the entire two minutes we gave him. Then it became a taunting exercise between the adults. After enough of them had laughed themselves stupid, I stood up, setting Sophie down gently.
“Alright, idjits, it’s time for sudden death. No blindfolds, only spinning and let the birthday pups get their candy.” Being the pack elder has its perks and times like this is one of them.
Joni teeters over with laughter as she swings. She catches the rope around the broom handle and pulls the whole thing down with little resistance from Y/N’s grip. She beats the cardboard animal within an inch of recognition and finally a hole caves in and the other two pounce in for the candy as soon as the weapon is out of play.  Dean hands it over their heads to Sam.
Jimmy keeps trying to stuff candy in his pockets, but they’re too full and he’s losing more than he’s saving, meanwhile the girls just use their shirts like aprons. We are all bent over in tears, but the kids have their haul and nobody is gonna forget this party. Between Jody’s pictures and Meg’s recording on her phone, we’ll be able to bring it up for blackmail in the future.
Dean grabs the last handful of candy out of the carcass before he tosses it on the woodpile for next burning day. He doesn’t share, figures.
“Alright, before you go on about singing and cake, I’m handing out my gifts first,” I announce. “Over here you rascals.”
I march across the yard and head to a little strip of grass along the tree line. The kids are racing after me, I can hear their mother yelling at them to be careful since they’re in their nice clothes for the party.
But it’s an outdoor party and she should have known better, if you ask me.
I stop beside a big lump of canvas and wait for their little legs to catch up. I look down at them and give them the rules. “You have to take turns. You cannot cut in front of each other. And you do not use these on one another either, ya hear me?”
“Yes, Grandpa.” Three little voices nod, half listening half wiggling with excitement.
“Okay.” I pull the cloth off the target and step back hiding the packages behind my back.
“Ooooooo!”
“A target?”
“Are we shooting it?”
“No, guns are for grown ups. But if you get good, maybe you can hit it with one of these.” I fan out the bundles in front of me, letting them each pick one. Sam’s close now, eyeing me and I know what he’s thinking. But it’s not about hunting, not that kind of hunting at least. He grabs up the wrapping paper as the kids shred it to pieces to keep it from blowing away and becoming litter.
“A bow and a quiver!” Jimmy exclaims.
“I’m gonna be the Green Arrow!” Joni declares.
“I’m Huntress,” Sophie decides.
“I’m gonna be Hawk-guy.” Jimmy finally adds after much thought.
Dean chuckles. But Charlie calls over, “It’s Hawkeye, buddy.”
“Right. Hawkeye. I didn’t know that one either,” Y/N adds, shrugging.
I get them for the next hour, showing them how to crook the bow, and notch the arrow. They listen better for me than anybody, but seeing them this hooked on my every word made my damn month. They’re naturals, even if they don’t have the arm strength yet. We let them shoot from ten feet. Then finally Garth and Charlie convince them it’s time for cake.
I let it go. Because I know I will have them crawling through my backdoor everyday until they’re pros. It’s a selfish gift, but it’s an even trade. Let their parents off the hook about preparing them for everything out there, while giving me an excuse to spend more time with them. When they’re old enough we’ll go after turkeys for Thanksgiving, not wendigos or vampires.
They’ll have the skills and none of the burden their folks had at their age.
I nod at Y/N as she sets three mini cakes down on the table, letting them each blow out a matching number five. She’s a good mom and I can’t help but be a little proud about that fact. She’s not mine, but she always had a piece of my heart. Then there’s those two knuckleheads that somehow manage to keep her healthy, happy and safe. I couldn’t hope for any better for any of them. And I’m just grateful I’m still around to see it all happen.

“We’re here!” You laugh excitedly as you pull the old truck you got from your dad to a stop at the curb in front of your new home. Turning it off you glanced at your son who looked less than impressed as he pulled his headphones from his ears as he blinked at the house.
“Awesome.” He said looking over at you with a weak smile.
“Oh don’t be like that!” You said gently slapping his arm before you reached into the back seat to grab your purse and opened the car door stepping out into the street. Moving around the u-haul trailer attached to your truck you stood on the sidewalk grinning up at the old house that will hold your’s and your son's future. “Well what do you think? Mom did pretty good right?”
Having stepped out onto the sidewalk with his hands in his hoodie your twelve year old looked up at the run down house. Kicking his feet as he moved so he was standing next to you, he sighed. “Yeah it’s great Mom.”
“At least see the inside of the house and give it a chance before you decide to hate it.” You said with puppy dog eyes at him. “I bought this with my own money. I’m proud of that! A little paint and some fixing up here and there and she’ll be the best house on the block.”
“I just don’t see why we had to move out here. Grams and Pops said they would let us stay for as long as we wanted. It’s better than being in the middle of nowhere Kansas.”
“And deal with my mother trying to set me up with every available Alpha in town? No thank you. This is a new start for us.” You frowned, holding out a key and your purse for him to grab. In a mocking snobbish tone you turned to him. “Who's going to want an unmated Omega with a pup? Hmm?”
Laughing at the bad impression of his grandma he grabbed the items from you and headed towards the house to open up so you could start unpacking.
“Nobody, that's who.” You muttered under your breath as you unlocked the trailer and started to pull boxes from the back of it, placing them on the sidewalk so your son could grab them. “Lucas, you can explore later! Come grab your boxes!”
“You must be the new neighbor?” A deep voice called out to you, making you turn around. Two very tall, very attractive, very Alpha looking men in flannels walked up to you making you brush your hands on your jeans as you nodded. A light breeze pushed an amazing smell towards you. It smelled like pine, leather, and gunpowder. It was intoxicating.
"Yeah! That's us!" You smiled, shaking your head out of your daze, never having been a shy Omega you held out your hand for a shake. You felt a pulling in your chest but you couldn't place what it was. "I'm Y/N."
"I'm Dean," The shorter of the two said, shaking your hand and a tingle went through you. After a beat he pointed over his shoulder at the taller one, his eyes, his green apple eyes, never leaving you. "This is my brother Sam. I live next door. He lives down the street with his Omega Eileen."
Sam waved with a smile. "You need help getting everything inside?"
"We can handle it." Lucas said coming down the yard and standing in front of you eyeing both of the Alphas up and down. You were positive this kid would be an Alpha when he presented in a few years.
"I'm sorry, this is my son Lucas." You smiled, putting your hands on his shoulders and rubbing them up and down his arms. "Luc, this is Dean and Sam, some of our neighbors."
"Hey kid." Dean said with a grin.
The little Alpha sized up the two others puffing out his chest and squaring his shoulders a bit as he did. “Hi.”
The two men looked at him with impressed expressions. Pretty ballsy for such a little Alpha to stand up two bigger Alphas.
“Okay, Luc,” You said, looking between them trying to break the tension. “Grab your boxes please and take them inside. I would love the help, thank you.”
Grumbling Lucas grabbed his box and headed into the house.
“I’m sorry about him. He’s protective.”
Dean and Sam shrugged it off as they came closer, the pulling sensation getting harder, and picked up boxes in their hands. “Don’t worry about it. I was the same way with our Mom.”
“Happens all the time.” Sam laughed as he followed Lucas inside.
“Just put them anywhere I’ll figure it out later.” You laughed as you continued to unpack the trailer.
===
Two hours later the trailer was empty and everything you and Lucas owned was in the house. Sam and Dean helped arrange the living room furniture like you wanted it and with a sigh and a smile you nodded hands on your hips. “Thank you so much guys!”
“No problem,” Dean grinned, dusting his hands off.
“Glad we can help.” Sam smiled as he looked at his watch. “I gotta go, Eileen’s going to be home from work soon. It was nice meeting you Y/N, Lucas.”
“See ya later Sammy.” Dean said, waving to his brother as he walked out the door. “We’ll watch the game on Sunday, yeah?”
“Yeah.” Sam called back with a wave.
“Mom, I'm hungry.” Lucas sighed as he came out of his room looking at his phone.
“I was going to get pizza after I dropped the trailer off.” You said looking at your son and then at Dean. “Care to join us? It’s the least I can do with you helping us move in and all.”
“Uh, sure.” Dean said laughing scratching the back of his neck. “Never turn down free food.”
“Why don’t you two get cleaned up and relax for a bit and I will be back in an hour or so with the pizza.”
“I’ll come with you. Some people around here are pretty old fashioned and don’t really acknowledge Omega’s without Alphas. I don’t want anyone to be rude to you on your first day in town.”
“Why can’t you just call in the pizza?” Lucas said looking between you and Dean, his protective nature coming back into play.
Smiling, you walked over to Lucas and kissed his forehead before grabbing your purse from the coffee table secretly pleased that Dean offered to come with. You felt that pulling again. “It’ll be okay. We’ll be back soon and we can eat. You want to come with or stay here?”
“I’ll stay here. Don’t forget pepperoni with jala-”
“With jalapenos, I know. Lock the door behind us.” Gesturing to the door you smiled at Dean. “After you.”
Together the two of you left the house and you stopped to listen for the door to lock but it didn’t happen. “I mean it pup, lock the door!”
The locked slide into place with an audible groan. Shaking your head you rolled your eyes and walked down the little step towards Dean who was waiting at your truck. “Boys.”
“He always like that?”
“Yeah,” You nodded as you unlocked the truck and got in. “Been like that since he could walk. He’s smart, but he’s stubborn.” Turning on the truck you mumbled under your breath. “Just like his dad.”
Dean looked over at you as you pulled away from the house. “Where is his dad if you don’t mind me asking? We don't see many single Omegas with pups around here.”
Scrunching up your nose you sighed as you drove. “He was a knot and walk kinda guy.”
“Ah, so a deadbeat Alpha.”
“Pretty much yeah.”
“Is that why you moved out here?”
“No. I wanted a place of my own with Lucas away from my family and their annoying pack dynamic bullshit. I also just thought we needed a change of scenery in general. Small town life doesn’t seem so bad.” You shrugged, smiling at Dean.
Dean smiled back at you as you pulled up into the u-haul parking lot a few blocks over from your new home. He realized he loved your smile. All day all he wanted to do was get you to smile, make you laugh, make you moan his name.  Closing his eyes he bit his lip trying so hard to keep his cool. He felt like a pup again ready to pop a knot at a stiff breeze. It was easier to handle before you were in a small space together but now all he wanted was to listen to this pulling and touch you.
“Let’s get this shit show on the road.” You said as you got out which knocked him out of his thought process.
Once you were out of the car Dean took a deep breath to try to calm himself but all he got was a good whiff of your scent. You smelled like apple pie, old whiskey, and some kind of flower he couldn't place. Wiping his hand down his face he groaned. You were definitely going to be a problem for him.
===
6 months later
You had grown closer to the handsome Alpha next door. He helped you and Lucas any chance he got, coming over for dinners, coffee, just to talk, he had worked on your truck when it died on you last week and he even helped you paint and fix up things in your home so it looked almost like new now.
Lucas seemed to have warmed up to the Winchester boys. He wasn't so defensive or protective around them anymore. He really seemed to bond with Dean and there were days you would come home from work to find them throwing a football in the yard. It was great to see him so happy with an Alpha there to teach him things.
Sam and Eileen also became some of your best friends. The five of you would have bbqs on the weekends just to hang out and Sam even helped Lucas with homework when he had questions. Overall life was nice and easy for you here. You felt like things were going to be okay.
“Fuck.” A cramp rolled through you making you bend at your waist holding onto your truck. You muttered to yourself as you took a deep breath and stood back up. The suppressants you’ve been taking weren't working anymore. Pushing off your car you headed towards your home not wanting to be out in public when your heat hit you like a ton of bricks.
“You okay there Y/N?”
Looking up over your shoulder you saw Dean standing on his driveway wiping his hands on a rag, looks like he has been working on his car, but now his attention is on you. He could probably smell your heat on you. His eyes looked just slightly darker even from this distance.
Waving you nodded. “Yeah, I’m good. Don’t worry.”
“If you need help tonight,” Dean said, getting closer. You had helped him with a rut recently and he was all too happy to return the favor. “You know where to find me.”
“I do. Thank you,” You groaned as you clutched your stomach as he got closer, the breeze throwing his scent at you making slick start to wet your panties. “But I got this.”
It was so hard to fight the need for him, his strong Alphas cent calling to you. That pulling demanded his attention. But you couldn’t bring an alpha into the house right now, not when Lucas was home. You didn’t want him to hear you getting knotted over and over. You couldn’t do that to your pup. Your hands shook as you made your way into your house holding the door for dear life as it swung open and you closed it, locking it tight behind you.
“Lucas,” You whined as you slid down the door.
“Mom?” Lucas ran into the room from the kitchen table where he was doing his homework. “Are you okay? What’s wrong?”
“My suppressants aren’t working. Can you get me some pain pills please?” You cried, grabbing your stomach as heat burned through you. “I’m going to my room.”
Helping you stand, Lucas walked you into your room letting you crawl onto the bed before he took the heeled boots off your feet and ran into the bathroom to get your pain meds and a glass of water from the tap. “Here Mom.”
“Thank you pup.” You grabbed the pills and the glass and downed the little tablets with the water before putting the cup on your nightstand. Laying back on the pillows you curled into a ball holding your hand out for Lucas to come closer. Placing your hand on his cheek you looked him in the eyes. “It’s going to be hard for a few days. If you need help with anything ask Dean okay?”
Nodding, Lucas looked at you with a worried gaze. “Should I get Dean now? He’s an Alpha. He can help you.”
“No, no baby.” Shaking your head you took a deep breath. “I can handle this. Just be careful okay? Do not open the door for anyone but Dean or Sam.”
“Okay,” Lucas said, biting his lip. “Is there anything I can do?”
Shaking your head you cringed as another cramp hit you. You had to be strong for your pup until he was out of the room then you could break down. “No. I’ll be okay. Just leave me be for a few days okay?”
Kissing your heated cheek Lucas backed away from you as you cramped again and once he was out in the hall he closed the door leaving you to deal with your heat alone.
===
It's been a full two days and your heat hasn't settled. You buried your face into your pillow letting out a groan of pain. You were burning up, slick coated your thighs as the toy you were using lay useless between your legs. You had shed your clothes days ago only covering yourself when Lucas came in to give you water or try to get you to eat but you sent him away quickly. You didn't want your son to see you like this. Breathing felt difficult and your head was swimming from the fever.
A knock on your door made you groan as you pulled the covers over you. “I’m okay Luc. Just go away please.”
“It’s not Lucas.” The deep voice called back as the door opened a crack and the scent of Alpha pushed through your cloudy mind. "Fuck Omega I could smell you from the driveway."
Moaning in pain you curled in on yourself as you closed your eyes. “Fuck. You shouldn’t be here Dean.”
“Lucas came to get me,” He groaned, coming in and closing the door behind him toeing off his boots and socks. “He’s worried about you. Says your heat isn’t going away. I'm worried too. Let me help you, Omega.”
"No, I'm okay." You said, shaking your head. "I can get through this on my own. Dean please. Just leave."
"But you're not okay." Dean growled. "You helped me with my rut. Let me help you with your heat."
Biting your lip you stared at him through lidded eyes for a moment, after a pain filled beat you nodded reaching out for him. “Okay Alpha, please I need you. Need your knot.”
“I’m here ‘mega,” He said, striding over to your bed and pushing your hair out of your face. “You’re burnin’ up. Gotta cool you down.”
“Please it hurts,” You whined, shaking your head, pulling at his shirt and closing your eyes tightly. “Fuck me, Dean.”
“I gotcha,” He said, pulling his shirt over his head before unbuckling his belt, pulling his jeans down his boxers with them. “Gonna take good care of ya.”
Your heated hand ran down his chest and he hissed at the burning feel of it as he pulled the blanket away from your body. Grabbing your discarded toy he tossed it on the floor. The smell of your heat and the slick on your thighs made him harder than he’s ever been. Running his hands down your thighs, your back arched at his touch as he placed his thumb on your clit and started to move in slow circles. Speeding up as you cried for more.
"So wet for me." He said removing his thumb from your nub too pushed two into your pussy curling them against your walls searching for your g-spot as he thrusts in and out of you slick going everywhere as he moves. "Such a sloppy little Omega."
"Dean, Alpha!" You cried, throwing your head back onto your pillows. Your toy never even came close to making you feel this good. You cried out as he brought you to a quick orgasm with his fingers. White flashing behind your eyelids for a moment. Breathing hard you looked up at him with a small smile.
"That's it, Y/N. Good girl. Such a good little Omega." He said as continued to thrust his fingers letting you ride that high before slowly bringing you back.
"Alpha, please, need your knot. Need you." His fingers were amazing but you needed his cock.
"You're gonna get my knot, don't worry beautiful." You whined at the empty feeling as he pulled his hand from you. You watched as he slipped his two fingers into his mouth sucking the slick and taste of you off them making you groan loudly at the sight. "You taste so good, baby. Gonna make you feel better. Present Omega."
Eagerly, you rolled onto your stomach lifting yourself up on shaky limbs and looked over your shoulder at him. He was stroking himself as he settled onto the bed behind you. "Fuck me. Please Alpha."
"Impatient little thing." He growled, slapping his hand on your ass, making you cry out in pleasure pain as he placed his cock at your entrance. Time for play was over he needed to give you a knot and then into a cool bath to get that fever down. Grabbed your hips as he thrust into you harshly, his hips pistoning against you as the sound of flesh slapping flesh filled the room.
"Oh god Alpha!" You cried, your arms giving out as your chest landed on your bed. You clenched around him tightly as he moved at a bruising pace. The coil in your stomach tightening again as you moaned into the mattress.
"I gotcha Omega. God you feel so good on my cock. So tight." Dean said, leaning over you and kissing your back, his hips never faltering from his brutal thrusts. He was so wound up from just the smell of your heat and the noises you made he already felt his knot start to swell. He wasn't going to last very long this round. The feel of it catching on your entrance made you both moan in pleasure. Reaching his hand around you his fingers found your clit and started to rub you quickly. "Want you to come with me 'mega."
"Fuck, Alpha!" You cried into the mattress as you clenched down on him again. Your walls fluttered around him as the coil snapped your second orgasm crashing through you.
"Shit Y/N!" Dean cried as his knot popped when he thrusted into you as came. Locking you two together as he shot rope after rope of come into you painting the walls with his seed. "Fuck!"
Together you breathed harshly into the darkened room as you both came down from your highs. You felt the weight of him on your back as he leaned forward his forehead between your shoulder blades. Wrapping his arms around your waist he laid you both in a comfortable position on your bed, your back to his chest. Giving you small kisses and nips across your shoulder. "How you feeling Omega?"
Sighing you closed your eyes feeling more yourself. You could still feel the heat simmering inside you but you felt like you could breathe again. "Better, I think. Thank you."
"You're welcome." Dean muttered his thumb brushing your skin where it sat on your stomach. "That was the worst heat I've ever seen. Are they always this bad?"
"No," You shake your head. "I haven't had one in a while though. I've been taking suppressants."
"For how long?"
"A few years off and on since I had Lucas. I just didn't want to deal with it and raise a pup on my own. I didn't think it would be this bad."
"You could have died. If you keep suppressing them it's just going to get worse and it's going to kill you. You can't do that to the kid."
"Shit Lucas!" You gasped realizing you didn't know where he was, jumping a bit before crying out when Dean's knot pulled, your head still swimming from the fever and orgasms. God had he heard everything?!
"Christ Y/N!" Dean snapped before pulling you back and nipping at your neck as a reminder not to move yet. "He's fine. He's at my place with Sam and Eileen. Probably watching some dopey horror movie with a full belly, they would never let a pup starve."
Sighing in relief you leaned back into him. "I've been such a bad mom. My heat hit and I couldn't take care of him."
"Don't say that." Dean said playing with your hair to calm you. "You're a great mom. He did alright the last few days I checked up on him, so did Sam. He was just worried about you. You raised a good kid, you know. He came right over when he knew you were in trouble."
Nodding you closed your eyes again, a small proud smile on your lips as you leaned into him listening to Dean's heart beat as he held you. Soon his knot returned to normal and you were able to separate.
"Let's get you into a cold bath. I can still feel your fever."
You yawned but let him move the two of you into the bathroom. His arms around you feel strong and safe. Nuzzling into him you closed your eyes. "So you felt it?"
Setting you on the counter he turned to your tub and plugged it before he turned the faucet on letting it run at a good cool temperature for you before he turned around and walked between your thighs to hold your waist. "That pull between me and you? Yeah, I feel it. Do you?"
"Since the day we met," You nodded, letting your arms run up to his shoulders and around his neck as you bury your face in his skin leaving little nips and kisses. "You smell so good, Alpha."
Dean chuckled and kissed the top of your head picking you up so he was holding your thighs in his hands. "So do you, like all my favorite things."
Wrapping your legs around his waist you looked over at the filling tub and sighed a little knowing this was going to suck. But you dealt with it as Dean placed you into the cold bath kneeling naked beside it and turned the faucet off once you were in. You yelped and tried to climb out. "Fuck its freezing!"
"Shhhh," Dean soothed as he pushed you back into the tub gently, running his hand up and down your back dipping his hand in and collecting water to run it down your back as he settled you into the water. "It's just the fever, it's not that cold. Just gotta bring this fever down then I'm gonna knot you over and over until you can't take it Omega."
You practically purred at his words. The promise of his knot making you wet as he ran his cold hand down your heated skin. Glancing at him through your lashes you smiled. "Can't wait Alpha."

Of All The Places to Meet
Tumblr media
Summary: When the reader gets into a bad accident, she doesn’t expect to meet her true mate at the same time...
Pairing: Alpha/Firefighter!Dean x Omega!reader
Word Count: 2,500ish
Warnings: language, car accident, major injury
A/N: Enjoy!
_______
“She’s fucking jammed in there good. We need to cut her out.” You blinked open your eyes slowly, very aware of how…off the world seemed. Your head was killing you, that was for sure. Something about the fact you were upside down in your car told you that had something to do with it.
Lazily you turned your head at the scent of vanilla and tobacco, humming at the pleasant smell in the otherwise metallic and burnt rubber scented air. Beside you, crawled in your passenger window on his back, laying on top of your roof was a pair of gorgeous green eyes staring back.
“She’s awake!” called the man, his attention on you the whole time. “Hey, sweetheart. You were in an accident. I’m gonna get you out of here.”
“Smell pretty,” you murmured, fighting off the urge to pass out again. “I’m gonna…”
“Miss. Miss, try to-”
Dean’s POV
“Fuck, she’s out cold again,” I said. I could see where her door was pinned against her left side. It’d be a miracle if she hadn’t shattered her hip or femur. My stomach churned once more, hands gripping the center console that was partially cracked and pushed forward.
This was not how this was supposed to happen. You don’t meet your true mate in a goddamn car wreck when she’s critically injured. You just don’t.
And now there was another problem.
Alpha’s were notoriously protective of their mates, especially true mates. That instinct skyrocketed when they were injured, even something as small as a cut thumb.
Seeing, smelling, my true mate when she was broken and battered and hurt out of her mind?
Yeah, there was no way I was going to be able to physically get away from this little omega.
“Winchester! Let the medic get in there and we’ll work on getting the driver's door off,” called Benny. My gut said to stay but I also knew she needed someone more qualified than me to attend to her at this moment. Reluctantly, I climbed out and ran around to the outside of the car, a few guys already working on ripping the metal apart.
“She’s got the neck brace on!” called the EMT. “We’re ready for whenever she’s loose.”
Twenty minutes later we finally had the door off, a backboard slipped underneath her and she was being pulled out of the vehicle.
The EMT’s packed her up and somehow she wasn’t bleeding out. There was always the chance for internal injuries though. I wandered over to the back of the ambulance, climbing into the back much to the displeasure of the two EMT’s.
“What the hell are you doing Dean?” said Benny. I chucked my helmet at him, Benny barely catching it. “De-“
“She’s my true mate. I can’t…I need to go.” He sighed but nodded.
“Let him ride with you. I’ll pick him up at county later. Dean?” I nodded as they started to close the doors. “Listen to the doctors and stay out of their way. That’s how you can keep her safe.”
I nodded as they shut the doors, my focus going to the woman strapped to the stretcher. She looked so broken, covered in blood and scrapes.
I squeezed her hand, a gentle twitch of her finger in my palm.
“You’ll be okay, Omega. I promise.”
Reader’s POV
You blinked open your eyes slowly, grateful this time you were right side up. The bed was soft and warm even if your body felt achy. A buzz was thrumming through your veins as you looked down, the drugs in your system keeping you calm as you took in the sight.
Your entire left leg was bruised. Literally every spec of skin was bruised.
And then you saw the monstrous contraption encasing it, pins holding your thigh in place. Beeping rang through the room as your heart rate shot up, eyes fixated on your wiggling toes.
“Okay. Okay, I can still walk,” you breathed out, inhaling deeply. “Hopefully.”
A wave of exhaustion hit as the door opened, an Alpha!nurse walking inside. “Well good evening Y/N! How are we feeling?”
“Shitty.” You frowned and closed your eyes again.
“Do you remember what happened?” he asked, checking the monitors and then bending your arms.
“Uh. I was driving on the highway and then I woke up here,” you said, nose twitching. “Something smelled pretty.”
He just hummed and checked your leg that wasn’t secure, offering you a smile. “I’m going to check a few things and then I’ll bring the doctor in.”
An hour later you were laying back in bed, staring at the ceiling and trying to wrap your head around everything the doctor had said. Intensive physical therapy would be needed for months and even then your leg may never be a hundred percent again. You had a concussion and wouldn’t be able to drive a car for six months most likely. You’d need to take a leave of absence from work. Although that one might not be that bad actually considering how stressful it’d been lately.
On top of all that, apparently there was some creeper Alpha firefighter hanging out in the waiting area.
Waiting for you.
Because your day hadn’t been unsettling enough as it was.
Before long you were fast asleep, hoping that tomorrow you’d wake up and find out this was just a nightmare.
“Good morning Y/N!” said your nurse, Alfie. You twitched your eye, not deterring his chipper mood one bit. “Feeling any better today?”
“We’re going to have problems if you’re always this bubbly when I wake up, Alfie,” you grumbled, sighing as pain shot up your leg. “If you could just do me a favor and cut off my leg, that’d be appreciated.”
“Oh, don’t be drastic, Y/N. I know the doctor wants to wean you off the pain medicine as soon as possible but it shouldn’t be that bad.”
“Did he shatter his femur yesterday? No? When he does he can talk to me about taking away my pain meds,” you said, hitting the button for morphine but nothing coming out. “Alfie. I need something.”
“The doctor gave strict orders to have you on only over the counter-”
“It fucking hurts!” you shouted, surprised at how agitated you were. Normally you were always kind and polite to strangers. But this? You were in pain and you didn’t have the patience to be a socially acceptable human being today.
Alfie looked sympathetic but his reply was cut off when a man with disheveled hair and dirty clothes came barging in the room. Strike that. The creeper Alpha firefighter that was stalking you outside was suddenly barging in the room.
“What are you doing to her?” he spat out, venom in every word. You could hear him audibly growl as he stalked over to Alfie, the poor Alpha shrinking back like he was an Omega cornered in a dark alley.
“Hey! Get out of…” you paused when you caught his scent. The heart rate monitor beeped dangerously fast, both of them turning to you. The scary Alpha firefighter suddenly made you calm, his scent giving off clear signals.
Relax Omega. You’re safe and protected.
“You can’t be in here,” said Alfie as he got his wits back. He grabbed the firefighter, shrieking when the man growled so loud it sounded like he’d gone feral.
“Alfie’s right,” you said, pain filling your heart as you breathed deeply. You had no idea who this Alpha was but you knew his instincts were in overdrive. “You’re filthy and this is an ICU. Go home and clean yourself up. Come back this afternoon and we’ll talk then. That’s an order, Alpha.”
“Yes, omega,” he said softly, nodding once. “Are you okay?”
“Later, Alpha.” He apologized briefly to Alfie before leaving, Alfie relaxing when his scent went with him. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. I don’t know how you got him to believe you like that. He was this close to snapping.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s my true mate.” Alfie raised his eyebrow and cocked his head.
“We can do a blood test. And make him take one too before we let him back in. On second thought, that’s absolutely happening.”
You raised a hand, wincing as pain pulsated through your leg. “Tell him I asked him to please take the test so he doesn’t take it out on the staff. Please.”
“Will do.” He paused as he exited the room. “I’ll talk to the doctor about your pain meds, see if we can make the steps down not so drastic.”
“Thanks Alfie.”
You were tired when you woke up after lunch and physical therapy. So much so you could barely open your eyes. You wouldn’t think you could be all that physical with a damn broken femur but after they moved and worked you to the point of shouting, you’d changed your mind quickly.
A large, calloused hand stroked your cheek, wiping away a stray tear that fell. The air smelled sweet, like pine and vanilla. “Omega. How can I help the pain?”
“You being here helps,” you murmured, his long fingers brushing away more tears. You squeezed your eyes when pain ripped through you. “They say I don’t need the morphine but I only can sleep today when I’m exhausted from the pain. I don’t know how I’m supposed to get through this.”
“With me, Omega. I’ll talk to the doctors. You were injured only a day ago. They must  have missed something if it hurts so badly.” He bent down and kissed your temple, your eyes fluttering open. “Please don’t worry. I’ll be here for you every step of the way.”
You stared up into his green eyes, surprised to find him smiling at you. “Why are you so handsome?”
“Makes up for my lack of singing ability,” he chuckled. He brushed your hair behind your ear, his scent coming off in powerful waves to soothe you. “I’m sorry for scaring you earlier. I know you don’t quite know me but I was one of the responders to your accident and when I scented you…my instincts went a little crazy.”
“It’s alright,” you whispered, a flash of pain rising up again. “Can you find the doctor?”
“Yes Omega,” he murmured. “Try to rest.” He got up from the nearby seat and hummed. “I’m Dean.”
“Y/N,” you said, shutting your eyes once more.
“I’ll make it better Y/N. I promise.”
Two Weeks Later
“Hey,” said Dean when he entered your hospital room. “I heard you’re getting discharged today.”
You grumbled from bed, wearing one of his fire station hoodies. He pulled the curtains open, smiling wide as you tugged the hood up.
“Aren’t you excited to be getting out of here?” He had a point. You were happy to be leaving, with some pain medication too. But your leg was still incredibly fucked and you couldn’t go back to your apartment. Not when it was on the third floor. Dean luckily lived in a ranch style but you hated imposing on him.
“I wish I didn’t have to move in with you.” His smile fell as you groaned. “I meant like this. Because I’m hurt and can’t be alone. I wish we could be like a normal pair of mates.”
“Hey,” he said. He sat on the edge of the bed by my good leg, lightly stroking over the bonding gland in my neck. “We are normal. We just need to practice a bit more patience than other true mates.”
“You mean how I can’t have sex for months until my leg is healed. It’s going to drive both of us crazy to wait.”
“We can bond, just without the knotting. We’re already scent bonded and as long as we don’t stay away from each other for too long-“
“You mean an hour tops? You’re stuck by my side for the next three months minimum. I might not walk correctly again. I might always-“
He put his hand over your mouth, annoyance rising in your veins.
“I’m your Alpha, even if you don’t bear my mark yet. I never want to hear you say you think I’m stuck with you. Being with you is the only thing I could ever want. We will figure this out and I will not mate you until you are fully recovered. Am I clear, Omega?”
The use of your title from his lips sent fuzzy, calming feelings throughout your body, your head nodding without thinking. Large fingers gently stroked your cheek, a soft hum escaping him.
“Are you ready to go home with me?”
“Okay, Alpha. You can take me home.”
“You all set?” asked Dean later that evening. You were in bed, leg propped up on some pillows. Dean had spent the day with you, helping you get discharged and set up his house so it was a bit more friendly for you to get around in.
“As good as I can be,” you said, watching him disappear into the closet, returning in a fire station shirt and a pair of skinny black joggers. “You have work?”
He chuckled and shook his head. “No, no. Just getting comfy for the night. I can order us some food. I’m sure you’re starving.”
“A little,” you said, Dean sitting beside you, urging you to curl into his side. “Thank you for helping me that day. The accident.”
“It’s my job, sweetheart,” he said, pressing a gentle kiss to your temple. “I’m just happy you’re still here. You got lucky.”
“Hell of a way to meet your mate.” He hummed, quietly stroking your bare arm with the tips of his fingers. “I’m really glad I’m not doing this on my own.”
“You’ll never be on your own ever again, Omega. I promise.”
“I know, Alpha. My leg might never heal the same way but at least I got one good thing out of this situation.” He smiled, brushing your hair behind your ear. “This comfy ass bed.”
He rolled his eyes with a smirk, kissing the top of your head before he got up. “Alright. With that, I’m off to go be your manly Alpha and hunt down some food for us.”
“You mean order takeout?” you teased. He tossed a pillow at you, laughing lightly.
“For that I’m ordering pineapple on the pizza.” You dropped your jaw, Dean laughing a bit harder, his scent the calmest you’d ever smelled it. “I’m kidding. I’m not deranged.”
“Good cause true mates or not, that is not happening,” you said.
“Glad we can agree on it,” he said. “What about a supreme?”
“Now we’re talking,” you said. He left the room with a nod, returning a few minutes later with a soft smile. “What?”
“Nothing. Just really glad to finally have found you. It’s…easy with you.”
You knew what he meant, patting the spot next to you. He returned to your side with a smile, pulling you to rest against his chest. His scent filled the air, a relaxed cozy feeling settling in your bones.
“Yes, yes it is Alpha,” you said, taking a deep inhale, exhaling slowly. “It absolutely is.”

Alpha daddy

Summary: Dean is overprotective.

Warnings: a/b/o dynamics, a/b/o, pregnancy, overprotective alpha, scenting, Dean panics, mentions of pregnancy symptoms, fluff

“Uh-“ Dean immediately jumps up to look you all over as you make an odd noise. You clutch your belly and slowly rub it. “Fuck, that feels odd.”
“Odd? What kind of odd? Does it hurt? Describe the feeling,” your alpha worriedly looks you up and down. “Sweetheart, tell me what’s wrong.”
You don’t want to worry Dean. He’s like an overprotective mother hen since you are pregnant. He barely sleeps, afraid someone or rather something that bumps in the night sneaks into the bunker to attack you.
“I’m—” you pant. “Good. It’s just a stomach bug or something.”
“Stomach bug?” He cocks his head. “This doesn’t look like a stomach bug, Y/N. What’s wrong? I need to know if you need help.”
“It feels…odd,” you choke out. “Something is…I don’t know. It feels wrong. I’m scared.” You finally say as it feels like the muscles across your belly are tightening. It’s not painful, but uncomfortable and you’re afraid, something is wrong with your baby.
“That’s it. I’m going to bring you to the hospital,” Dean looks at your belly one last time before he walks toward the bag he placed next to his side of the bed. The one he prepared for the labor. “Give me a minute.”
Dean grabs his shoes, phone, and keys while barking his brother’s name. “SAMMY! We need to go to the hospital!”
“What? I??” Sam pokes his head into your bedroom. “What’s wrong?” He frowns and switches to worried Uncle Sammy modus. “Is she in pain? It’s too early for contractions, right?”
“I-I don’t know,” Dean throws his hands up. "Take the keys and bag. Start the engine. I’ll help Y/N.”
The brothers make quick work. Sam grabs the bag and snatches the keys out of his brother’s hands. Dean turns his attention toward you.
He grabs a blanket, your favorite pillow before he slings one arm around your middle to help you get up from the bed.
Being eight months pregnant isn’t easy. Your belly is huge, and you can barely see your feet. Well, Winchesters are huge. It figures that you look like a whale.
“I’ve got you, sweetheart. We are going to the hospital, and everything is going to be alright,” he softly says to calm you. You nod and smile at him while breathing through the next contraction.
If only you could look inside his head right now. He’s scared to hell and back but can’t show it. Dean needs to be strong. For you.
“Thank you,” you sniff as Dean walks you along the hallways toward the garage. “You think everything is going to be alright?”
“I know it will,” he confidentially says. ‘It must, he thinks to himself…
Tumblr media
“Doctor!” How is she? Is it labor? It’s too soon, right?” Dean almost tackles the doctor to the ground to get an answer when he leaves the exam room. “Doc?”
“It’s nothing,” the doctor says, earning a huff from you. “Braxton Hicks contractions are normal during pregnancy. Some women feel it, some don’t. Your omega is a little more sensitive.”
Now you roll your eyes. “Dean, let’s go,” you grab your alpha’s hand. “What a dick.” You grunt. “That asshole told me the whole time I shouldn’t make such a fuss.”
“What?” Dean stops in his tracks. “Lemme break his face.” He grunts when you shake your head. “I’ll do it. No one makes my omega feel bad. You were scared and needed advice. Not a douche telling you shit about something he doesn’t understand. That sonofabitch doesn’t even have a uterus.”
You snicker at Dean’s pissed expression. He squares his jaw and dips his head to glance at the doctor. “Dean, I just want to go home.”
“Can I not punch him a little for talking like that to my omega?” He quirks a brow. “Please.”
“He’s just overworked and it’s late. Maybe he had a long day. Let’s go home. I feel much better knowing it’s nothing to worry about.”
“Hmmm…” Dean still looks at the doctor. He bares his teeth when you turn your attention toward Sam and the snacks he got for you. “I see you, bastard.” Your alpha gives the doctor the evil eye. “Wait for it.”
“Alpha, come on. I wanna go home to my nest,” you hide your face in Dean’s chest to inhale his scent deeply. You’re immediately calmer and feel safe. “Thank you for bringing me here.”
“That’s my job.” He puffs his chest. “I’m your alpha. I care about my omega and our baby.” Dean kisses your temple. “I’ll bring you home now…”

Tell me about Alpha!Dean putting you in your place after you took an unnecessarily risk during a hunt 😏🤭

Dean growled as he stalked down the hallway of the bunker, hot on your heels as you retreated from the coming fury. It wasn’t the playful, ‘I’m gonna toss you on the bed and show you who’s daddy’ growl, but it was the pissed off Alpha growl. One laced with warning and the kind of dominance that made your legs weak. It was the side of him that he did his best to keep in check, especially after carrying The Mark. His fuse was just shorter now, even after it was gone from his arm. You knew he was mad at you the whole ride back home, but now, well, he was leaving no doubt to the fact that he was furious, and it should not have turned you on as much as it did.
Dean kicked the door closed to your shared room as he marched on you, backing you up against the wall of weapons, baring his teeth as his arms caged you to the spot. His scent was sharp and threatening. His chest rumbled as he glared at you. God, you could let him eat you alive, and fuck if he just might do just that.
“What the fuck was that?” He sneered, doing his best to keep his voice down so that Sam could sleep. “Think you know better than me? Think you can disobey a direct order and nearly get yourself and my little brother killed?”
It took all of the strength you had in your body to not openly smirk at him, but you were sure your Alpha could not only smell the arousal that was leaking down your legs through your now ruined panties, but he could see that spark of defiance in your eyes, so why not smirk anyway? You no less fucked if you didn’t.
“No,” you answered, unable to wipe the amusement from your face, and he snarled as his hand came and wrapped around your throat, not enough to choke you, but enough to get your attention.
“No what?” He corrected, and you whimpered, feeling his own excitement against your stomach through his jeans as he pressed his weight against you.
“No sir,” you answered, and his bit along your jaw line in shape little nips as he moved up to the shell of your ear, scenting you deeply before nipping your earlobe hard enough to make you yelp as he ripped your underwear from under you skirt and shoved to of his thick digits into your soaking cunt.
“Well, you could have fooled me Omega,” he said as scissored you open roughly, his hand on your throat keeping you in pace against the wall as anger bleed the line into arousal, and his temper started to shift gears. “I think you know exactly what the fuck you were doing, and that you knew better than your Alpha? Didn’t you? Thought you could do the hunt better than me and instead fucked it up?”
Dean’s grip tightened on your throat, causing your weeping cunt to squeeze around his fingers and he growled in approval as he rutted his clothed erection against your thigh. “Gonna have to remind you who’s boss then Omega,” he treated as your orgasm tore through your body and you nearly crumbled in his grip as he worked you through it in a silent scream, muffled by his lips on yours and his tongue dominating your own in a heated, almost painful kiss.
When he finally let go of you, shoving you towards the bed, you thought you’d press your luck a little more, because even as an Omega, you never were able to bend easily.
“Is that a threat? Or is it a promise, Alpha?”
God, you hoped it was a promise.

Her Saviours- Ch.38
Tumblr media
Series Masterlist
Summary: During an odd case, the Winchesters came across Y/N, a scared young Omega girl who had been used as a lure for a nest of vampires. After rescuing her from the monsters, John and his sons took her in knowing she was in no state to live among ordinary people. But three Alphas and one Omega is a mixture bound for disaster.
A/N: It’s my birthday!!
Warnings: Explicit language. ABO dynamics.

“Yeah. You probably missed something, that's what.”
“Dude, I ran LexisNexis, local police reports, newspapers, I couldn't find a single red flag. Are you sure you got the coordinates right?”
“Yeah, I double checked. It's Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Dad wouldn't have sent us coordinates if it wasn't important Sammy.”
You were sitting in the back of Baby, as usual, listening to the brothers bicker, as usual.
Sam was getting frustrated at his brother. “Well I'm telling you I looked and all I could find was a big steamy pile of nothing. If Dad's sending us hunting for something I don't know what.”
“Well maybe he's going to meet us there.” Dean still wasn’t giving up on their father.
Sam scoffed, “Yeah. Cause he's been so easy to find up to this point.”
“You're a real smart ass you know that?”
“He’s not wrong,” you mumbled to yourself.
Dean looked up, catching your eye in the mirror. He didn’t comment, but you knew he heard you, and by the way Sam shifted ever so slightly, you knew he heard as well. Both brothers had an idea of where you stood with John- Sam more than Dean- and neither was willing to comment on it. At least not yet, and not in front of the other.
“Don't worry I'm sure there's something in Fitchburg worth killing,” Dean insisted, getting back to the topic at hand.
“Yeah?” Sam asked, not sounding convinced. “What makes you so sure?”
“Cause I'm the oldest, which means I'm always right.”
“No it doesn't.”
“It totally does,” Dean insisted.
Leaning against Baby with Sam as Dean went to get some coffees, you watched the playground on the park you’d stopped next to. You were frowning, watching the scene in front of you, feeling uneasy.
There was only one child in sight, and she was barely playing.
Returning to you and Sam, Dean handed out the coffees he was carrying. “Well...the waitress thinks the local freemasons are up to something sneaky but other than that no one's heard about anything freaky going on.”
“Dean you got the time?” Sam asked, a curious frown furrowing his brows.
You looked up at him and noticed he was watching the park as well. It seemed you weren’t the only one who had noticed the peculiar scene.
“Ten after four,” Dean answered. “Why?”
“Look at the park,” you started. Dean came over to stand next to you and turned to the playground. “Where are all the kids?”
He grew just as curious as you and his brother. “School's out isn't it?”
“Yeah.” Sam nodded. “So where is everybody? This place should be crawling with kids right now.”
Sighing, Dean handed his coffee over to Sam without a word. You watched, confused for a moment, before he started towards the woman watching the little girl. You could only assume she was her mother.
“We’ll be right back,” you told Sam absentmindedly as you hurried after Dean to walk with him.
The woman was half watching her daughter, half reading the newspaper. Her daughter was playing, but with no one to join her, she didn’t seem as enthused as you guessed she normally would have been. It was as if the trip to the park was bittersweet.
“Sure is quiet out here,” Dean started, drawing the attention of the mother.
She looked up from her newspaper, a little startled at first. You watched her smell the air, catching Dean’s Alpha scent. Before she could react, however, she caught wind of your Omega which had her visibly relax.
“Yeah, it's a shame,” she noted, looking genuine.
“Why's that?” Dean asked.
She shrugged. “You know, kids getting sick, it's a terrible thing.”
Growing more concerned, you moved over to sit with her on the bench. “Kids? Are there a lot getting sick?”
“Just five or six but serious,” she started. “Hospital serious. A lot of parents are getting pretty anxious. They think it's catching.”
As an Omega it was in your blood to be concerned about children. You’d always pictured having pups of your own, even if sometimes you knew it wasn’t a feasible thought with your lifestyle. Despite that, you always felt the need to care for and worry about kids. This news just didn’t sit right in your gut.
You offered the nurse a gentle smile as you set the basket of stuffed toys you’d brought to the hospital on the counter between the two of you. She paused, looking from you to the basket and then back.
“Can I help you?”
Taking a deep breath, you nodded. “I heard about the children.”
One sniff and she knew you were an Omega, and that’s all it took.
Anyone who looked at you would see a concerned Omega, wanting nothing more than to help the families of the sick children. You weren’t pushing for information, or snooping around, you were simply concerned. It was in your nature to be so empathetic.
Smiling gently, she nodded. “The paediatric ward is down that hall, turn left and up the stairs.”
“Thank you.” Your smile had a hint of sadness to it as you gathered the basket and went to follow her directions.
As you rounded the corner, you looked back and spotted Sam and Dean walking into the hospital in their suits.
The plan was for you to talk to the families, while the brothers talked to the doctors. They were taking the roles as doctors from the CDC, which would get them access you wouldn’t normally have. It wasn’t common for a young Omega to have such a prestigious job.
Still, that didn’t mean you were without your own tools and skills.
Stepping towards one of the beds of the sick children, you placed a stuffed bear in the crook of the little girl’s arm. Looking down at her with sympathetic eyes, you felt your heart strings tug at the image of her laying there so still and pale.
“I’m so sorry about your daughters,” you started as you looked from one bed to the other before meeting the eyes of the girls’ father.
He was sitting by their beds, looking distraught and exhausted. He’d been here a few nights now, and with no sign of improvement or change, he was growing more and more fraught with each passing moment.
“That’s very kind of you.” He attempted a smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Chewing on your lip, you moved over to the seat next to his and set the basket of toys- which was almost empty now- on the ground in front of you. With your hands now free, you reached out to take his gently.
He flinched at first, before your soothing Omega scent eased some of the tension in his body.
“I lost my family when I was young,” you started. “I may not have children, but I know what it feels like to feel helpless. I only wish you get a happier ending than I did.”
It was true. You did lose your family, your real family, when you were young. To be honest, you barely remembered them. With all the trauma and chaos that surrounded the events of your childhood, you couldn’t remember much of your life before monsters and Winchesters. But you still understood the pain of losing loved ones.
His hand squeezed yours. “Thank you.”
Offering a gentle smile once more, you began to pry ever so carefully, “Do you mind if I ask…?”
“How it happened?” he finished for you. “I don’t know. Mary, my oldest, she came down with it first. Then Bethany caught it the next night.”
“So suddenly?” you asked, trying not to show how shocked you were.
Diseases spread, you were aware, but they didn’t just put kids into comas so suddenly. He was suggesting there were no symptoms, no warnings, and now his daughters were
When he nodded, you could see just how tired he was. You knew he’d been trying to wrap his head around the whole thing ever since his daughters had fallen ill. It was all he could do with himself as he waited for any sign of them waking up soon.
“The doctors are saying it's pneumonia. But it doesn’t make sense. They were fine. They were perfectly fine. They were healthy. They were happy.” Shaking his head, you looked from each bed, trying to wrap his head around it.
All you could think to do was to give his hand a squeeze, to try and ease his pain and offer any support you could.
The sound of someone clearing their throat had you both look up. Sam and Dean were standing in the doorway, watching the two of you before their eyes fell onto the girls’ father.
“Sir, we’re from the CDC,” Sam started. “We were wondering if we could ask you a few questions?”
When the father hesitated, you gave him a reassuring nod. “I’ll stay with your girls until you come back.”
Thankful that they wouldn’t be alone, he squeezed your hand gratefully before following the brothers out of the room, leaving you to watch his motionless girls as they lay soundlessly in their hospital beds.
The brothers had left you in the car while they went to Bethany and Mary’s house. The idea was that their father would be at the hospital for the foreseeable future, so they would snoop around. Normally you would go with them, but it had been your idea to stay behind this time.
If they got caught it meant you were no longer a player in the game either. At least if the father went home and found the brothers in his house, you could still go to the hospital and get some information.
Sam had been surprised at your thought process, and impressed. Dean was actually relieved, as if there was something particularly stressing him out with this case.
The passenger side door opened as Sam slid into the car, their excursion over with. “Have you heard of a shtriga?”
Your brows crinkled in confusion. “A what?”
Dean got into the car then, with a sigh. “Sammy and me found some stuff. We think it could be a shtriga.”
“Dean thinks it could be one,” Sam corrected.
“Well, whatever it is, we need to find a motel so we can do research,” you noted.
Nodding, agreeing with you, Dean turned Baby on and started down the road. Neither of you said much as he drove, but words didn’t need to be said. You could sense the tension in the air. Something was wrong with Dean.

Cravings (Part 2)
Tumblr media
Summary: Post-claim, Dean and the reader enjoy a lazy day at her place when she tells him that she wants to bite him back.
Part 1
Pairing: Alpha!Dean x Omega!reader, Baker!Dean x pregnant!reader
Square: True mates @spnaubingo
Word Count: 3,529
Warnings: A/B/O dynamics, non-traditional true mates, pregnant reader (Dean is not the father), unplanned pregnancy, pregnancy cravings, morning sickness, mentioned/implied one night stand, mature themes, smut adjacent touching/kissing/cuddling, implied smut, light/brief smut, language, mostly fluff
A/N: For those of you who wanted more of these two. Sorry this took so long, I haven't been able to write much lately. Also written for @spnaubingo. Enjoy!
_____
"Hmm, you like that?"
"Oh my gosh... Yes, Alpha. Harder!" You ordered and he happily obliged.
Then you whimpered, your foot jerked and Dean froze, "Are you okay, Y/N? Is it too much?"
"Don't stop," You sing-songed and he chuckled between purrs as he continued to circle his thumbs. "Right there, so strong, Alpha. I love you."
"Wow, you're really enjoying this," he hummed, taking pleasure in giving you pleasure.
"Mhm," you nodded, "I can't remember the last time someone massaged my feet. This feels A-MA-ZING!"
Your hums started to vibrate in your chest, you couldn't remember a time where anyone had been this attentive with you. Your eyes watered a little but you were too content to let the tears fall.
The pregnancy had your feet and ankles so swollen already and you didn't even have to say anything for Dean to notice. One of the many benefits of your new bond. He just felt what you felt and vice versa.
Even during Dean's rut -which only lasted a couple days, just long enough to get you both out of spending Christmas with family- when he mated you for the first time, he was tender and loving. You tried to present for him but he flipped you over onto your back, wanting to feel every inch of what was about to be his. Forever. Every promise of what your future together held.
Then he bit and you were claimed.
That was near two weeks ago now and Dean hadn't spent a single night at his house since. All that was left was to officially move him into your house and make it a home.
There was really no reason to wait, no second thoughts on the claiming from either of you either. Dean agreed to move since he knew moving a pregnant omega could be upsetting and enough had already changed quite quickly. He was just happy you accepted the change; having an alpha in your life, in your house, when you said you never wanted one.
Dean was different, though. He wasn't your typical breed, you would've thought alphas like him didn't exist anymore; if he wasn't currently digging his fingers into your flesh in the most pleasurable -non-sexual, for the most part- way right now.
You didn't have to let him claim you, because he would never force you, and he was determined to show you he loved you endlessly for it. For choosing him.
Your house was also slightly bigger and had your scent infused into the walls and carpeting. It wasn't a hard sell to a rutting alpha at the time. Plus, this way he would be able to sell his house to his brother who'd been searching for a home for a while with his mate. They were trying to expand their family themselves, but hadn't had much luck lately.
Dean talked about his little brother a lot but you hadn't met him, or Jess. Sam and Dean planned to move over his stuff soon though, so you'd get to meet them then.
You were nervous because Sam wasn't apparently all that thrilled about you joining their pack without being introduced to you first. Dean explained that it had less to do with you and more to do with his dating history. Dean's past with omegas rivalled yours with alphas. Apparently the wrong omegas take advantage of tender alphas.
He was your forever. You wouldn't do anything to hurt him, you were a team, a partnership and you're supposed to build and grow together not tear each other down. Sam would see that when he met you.
Dean's hands slid up your legs, his strong fingers massaging the muscles of your calves and you felt like you were melting back into the couch. All you could think of was watching him make bread yesterday at the bakery. The way he folded and kneaded the dough in front of you. Except now you were the dough and his palms gripped and molded the soft flesh of your legs.
You never wanted this to stop.
You didn't even notice when you completely sunk onto your back, lengthways, until Dean's hands slid higher up your legs to your hips as he crawled over you. One of his palms felt the skin of your inner thigh as he pushed up your maternity dress with the other, revealing your swollen belly.
"Fuck. You're a sight, sweetheart." He sighed happily, sitting between your legs and holding a palm on your bump.
The pup rolled and Dean followed the movement until he felt a little kick on the side of your stomach. He purred so loud you almost thought he was growling, if it wasn't for his almost unbearably sweet scent -it was a far turn from the salty musk when you first met him, he was happy now- and he bent over you to place a kiss to your belly, below your navel and to the side. You loved him like this, already bonding with the pup as if it were his own.
As far as you both were concerned, the pup was his now; blood had nothing to do with it. His claim included every extension of you, you could feel it. You were a family.
Gosh, he was a beautiful man. If more alphas were like him, less omegas would feel the need to suppress their natural cycles. You often wondered how nobody snatched him up before you did. You were beyond thankful no one did.
"You're carrying high," Dean determined, feeling up your stomach with both hands.
"And," you laughed and caught his wrists as he roamed higher up your dress towards your swollen breasts.
"That means, it's a girl." He smiled softly and leaned over you to kiss you on the lips as he held your ribs. You hadn't found out the pup's gender yet, you wanted to be surprised. "I fucking love you. So fucking much. Fuck."
Tears welled in his forest green eyes and he swallowed his purrs with his emotions. He cleared his throat and kissed you again. His mouth hugged your bottom lip with a quiver and his tongue licked the tip of your nose when he pulled away. He didn't like letting you see his emotions get the best of him and he was trying to distract you, but with the bond you felt everything he was feeling. Fear and excitement but mostly a need for comfort, a reassurance in your new bond.
You tangled your fingers in his soft hair and moved his head to the crook of your neck, where your mating gland was. He turned his face and pressed his nose to the claim, inhaling and fermenting your bond instantly with a single scent.
A calm rushed over him and you tugged him up by his hair for a needy kiss. Dean groaned, his chest heating and lungs rumbling against you with a violent, growling purr.
"Alpha," you whimpered against his lips, wanting more of him.
He gave 'alpha' every meaning of the word.
Instinct took him over and he pushed your dress up your chest, exposing your breasts. His lips found your puckered flesh as he massaged the tension from your sensitive mounds.
Forget dough, you were putty in his massive and capable hands. His fingers worked every inch of you like he read your mind. But you still whimpered, needing more.
"I know, Omega, I know." He cooed, "I got you, baby. It's okay."
He tugged your panties down your legs, throwing them aside to the floor and slotted himself back between your thighs. His sweatpants, still separating your skin from each other and you snapped at him.
Dean laughed and leaned over to kiss you again.
You scented him and your teeth ached with a need to claim him -which you still hadn't done, it didn't need to be done to cement the bond and alphas typically didn't like to bear a claiming mark- but you refrained, now wasn't the time. You didn't want him to reject the claim, so you'd bring it up when your heads were clearer.
You clenched your jaw shut instead and enjoyed his touch.
After your little romp in the living room, you watched Dean make dinner as he strained the pot of spaghetti over the sink.
"D," you said, "you do know that carrying high doesn't mean anything, right? It's an old wives' tale. We could still be having a boy."
"I know," he shrugged, rinsing off the pasta and shutting off the element to the stove, turning the second one down to let the tomato sauce simmer. "I just have a gut feeling."
You knew Dean wanted a girl, a little princess to spoil rotten, but you wouldn't be heartbroken if you got a little prince instead. Either way, you could always try again for the one you didn't get. You always wanted to fill your home with lots of pups, eventually move out to the country with a picket fence, a big yard for them to run wild in and a long driveway to learn how to ride their bikes.
It was a dream you gave up on long ago but Dean revived it just by being himself.
"How much do you think I eat?" You gawked at the super-sized bowl of pasta Dean served you.
You were a little over five months pregnant, but it was still a lot of food.
"The pup needs the nutrition. Just eat what you can." He said and kissed your forehead.
Dean spooned some sauce on top of your mountain of spaghetti, holding the lid of the pot under the spoon as he did so. You beamed up at him, getting butterflies like the first day you knocked on his door and padding away to the table with your bowl of pasta like a trophy.
Dean was the real trophy, but you liked the food, too.
He served himself next, using a plate instead because he liked to cut the noodles. You told yourself it was because he was a baker, not a chef; a real chef would never cut spaghetti. You liked the bowl because it made less of a mess when you twirled the noodles onto your fork.
Dean joined you at the table and hummed around his food, clearly happy with his recipe. You, on the other hand, thought something was missing after your first forkful. It just tasted off.
"Something wrong with the food, sweetheart?" He mumbled, slurping bits of spaghetti back into his mouth that tried to escape as he spoke. "Want me to make you something else?"
"No, no," you waved him off, the man was catering to no end when it came to your cravings. "It's just missing something."
You padded back to the adjoined kitchen and Dean studied you as you searched the cupboards, not really even sure yourself what you were looking for.
Until you found it.
You made your way back over to the table with your prize in hand. A clear plastic case, housing round, golden-wrapped, hazelnut and wafer chocolates. Dean stared with a grin plastering his cheeks as you unwrapped three of them and stuck them on top of your pasta mountain.
The chocolate immediately started to melt in the heated tomato sauce and it smelt heavenly. Your mouth watered and you sniffed the air above your bowl.
"Mmm," Dean hummed hesitantly like he wasn't sure if that was going to satisfy you or make you sick, but he didn't stop you.
You twirled equal amounts spaghetti and melted-chocolate-meatball onto your fork, shoving it into your mouth before it fell into your lap. You chewed for a moment -watching Dean take another bite of his chopped meal and swallow- before you decided you couldn't and spit it back into your bowl.
"Yuck," you groaned, wiping the taste from your tongue with your palm. "Ugh. Sorry, D, I can't eat this."
That was not heavenly tasting, it was disgusting.
"That's all right, tell me what you want instead and I'll make it." He said, standing from his seat to give you a peck on the cheek and clear away your plate when you heaved at the smell.
Morning sickness never really went away, it just got sneakier.
Your tastebuds were off today and Dean made a series of your favourites, which you ultimately couldn't eat, before you settled on toast. After your first slice, though, you followed your nose and let the pup tell you what it wanted, that included toast with a dollop of honey and a mashed banana spread.
Dean reheated his meal, finally content you had something to eat and smiled at his happy omega.
After dinner, you crawled into your king-sized bed to watch a little TV comfortably with your mate. The nest of blankets and pillows had only gotten bigger with the addition of Dean's bedding -which he'd been slowly moving over a little at a time, same with his clothing, which packed the walk-in closet full of flannels. The rest of his stuff was left waiting for Sam to come by to help, although you suspected most of Dean's furniture would be left behind for his brother, who was living in an apartment at the moment and didn't have a lot of furniture to begin with.
You snuggled into Dean, barely giving him any room to get comfortable and threw your leg over his, pushing your knee into the space between his thighs so your hips hugged his leg. Dean was used to being used as your body pillow by now and he purred, nuzzling the top of your head. He flipped on a baking competition show for some background noise and you placed your hand over his heart to feel the strong thump against your palm.
A calm washed over you that you knew came from him and the claim and you lightly scratched your nails over his ribs lovingly. Your alpha was content and you fucking loved being able to feel every emotion without having to scent him like before. That being said, you still loved the sweet, warm scent of him when he was truly happy.
You slid your hand under his shirt and palmed the love handle above his hip. Squishy, warm flesh filled your palm and you dug your nails in possessively. Dean growled when you gripped a little too hard. He was all muscle but he didn't need to be sculpted with rock hard abs to prove it, he was soft and hard in all the right places and you loved his tummy.
"You okay, Y/N?" Dean asked and stopped purring.
You realized he was probably picking up on a little insecurity coming from you. You didn't even notice that was what you were feeling until he asked. Something was on your mind though.
"D, do you think we're true mates?" You asked, nuzzling his scruffy chin with your nose.
"Honestly, I don't know." Dean wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you to lay half on top of him.
You tried to adjust your swollen belly so you weren't making him uncomfortable but he just tugged you back in closer. Your leg still nestled between his but your bump now pressing into his hip.
"But," you started but stopped and instead laid your head on his big shoulder.
"What is it, sweetheart?"
You couldn't hide anything off feeling with this bond, that was going to take some getting used to.
"What if another omega comes along and they're your true true mate, meanwhile you've already claimed me?" You muttered, brushing your fingers over his unmarked mating gland.
Typically only omegas bore the claim, but you would've liked him to have one, too. A mark that meant he was yours.
"I. Love. You."
"But-"
"No buts. It's a fairytale, Omega." He growled, not liking your implication.
You pulled your hand away from his gland and wiggled your hips until he released you and let you roll onto your side, facing away from him. It didn't happen often, but you didn't like when he took that tone with you.
The alpha tone.
"I'm sorry, Y/N, I just don't want you ever to think I'll leave you, for any reason. I love you, that means something to me." He sighed and rolled over to tuck you into his chest as he spooned you from behind. He kissed the crown of your head and wrapped an arm around your waist to keep you grounded to him. "I mean, it's a little ridiculous to think that an alpha and omega will find and make each other happy just because it was meant to happen and they're instantly attracted to each other. If true mates are real, and that's a big 'IF', it's just about compatibility but even compatible people need to put work into their relationship. There's zero guarantee of a perfect romance, no matter what, and just because you're true mates, doesn't mean you'll make each other happy. A neglected mate is a neglected mate, despite the amount of stars that had to align in order to pair them together. So let me ask you this, are you happy with me, Omega?"
"Absolutely, I am." You sniffled and found his hand on your waist, sliding your fingers between his large ones. "Are you happy with us, Alpha?"
"Incredibly so." He kissed down your cheek and nuzzled your claim, teasing it with his teeth. You shivered and purred softly at his nips. "Then to answer your original question... because I'm happy and I know we'll never give up on each other even on our worst day, despite our imperfections, and because I am truly, deeply, helpless in love with you. Both of you." He moved your entwined hands to rest on your bump, "Yes, I believe that makes us true mates... And it doesn't hurt that you smell so good."
"I wanna bite you," you breathed.
Dean laughed hard and his chest shook against your back, "What was that, my little Omega?"
You hardly felt little these days, being practically swollen everywhere, but you liked the way he saw you.
"I want to claim you, too." You explained and turned in his arms to face him.
He brushed the hair from your cheek behind your ear, "We're already bonded, Y/N, it won't change anything if that's what you're thinking. The bond only cements feelings that are already there and links us together through our emotions, we already have that."
"I know, but- I just always told myself that if I was claimed, I would claim my alpha back." You said, wetting your lips and circling your fingertips over his gland again.
"You want to claim me, for the sake of claiming me?"
"I want to claim you because when you marry, you both wear rings." You murmured, placing small kisses over his gland and trying to entice him.
"We could just get married-"
"Is my big alpha afraid of a little bite?" You chuckled against his skin and you felt him flush against your lips.
"Pfft, no." He said unconvincingly.
"I'll make it enjoyable," you promised, pushing him onto his back and crawling on top of him. "You won't even feel it."
It wasn't a lie. If you claimed him the same way he claimed you, it would feel like a pinch at most. You nipped at his neck and felt a nervous shiver race through his body, your teeth nibbling his flesh.
"I won't do it if you don't want me to." You kissed the burning skin covering his mating gland and he shuttered again.
"I want you to claim me, Omega." He said and you met his gorgeous, green eyes. Then he teased, "Just, please, be gentle. It's my first time, sweetheart. But I trust you, baby."
He pushed his sweatpants down and your nightie up to your hips, then rocked into you and before long, you fell into him and bit. Your claim marring the perfect, freckled skin of his neck beautifully.
You licked at the mark as you laid on top of him, satiated as you cleaned away the few drops of blood despite the gross copper taste on your tongue. He'd done the same for you with your claim, something in the saliva of alphas and omegas help it heal quicker and not get infected.
You hummed against him, your belly pressing into his and your breasts flattened against his ribcage. Both your chests rumbling with a harmonized purr.
None of this was in the cards for you, not if you thought about it months ago. It's incredible how much can change in such a short amount of time.
"I still wanna marry you," Dean murmured in your ear.
His nose trailed down to your neck and buried into your scent. Dewy skin making the smell stronger as big hands roamed up your nightie and over your bare back. He held you to him gently like you'd float away if he let go, or pop if he held too tight.
Dean was a gentle giant of an alpha and he was all yours.
"Okay."

A perfect match?
Series Masterlist
Everything was different when you opened your eyes. Everything was different once again. Without knowing where you were, you sat up, rubbed your tired eyes and took a look around you. A pair of bright green eyes starred back at you through the dark. Hearing a deep rumbling voice saying that everything is fine now , you felt a shiver run down your spine and everything turned. The darkness welcomed you back once again…

After Y/N took a shower and cried some more, she finally felt more comfortable. She put on the flannel Dean had brought her and shut him out, his thoughts and feelings. The only thing that mattered to her right now was adjusting to the new setting, to this new life with an Alpha that didn’t care about her. The thought of it pinched her heart and made her sad once again but she bottled her feelings up and dried her hair.
Right now she was very happy that she had a normal childhood and her parents did not raise her like other Omega’s would have been brought up. This was very beneficial to her because it did not take her too long to adjust to life. Life in the Omega facility was like living in the 1950s, the mindset, the technology - everything basically. Y/N was determined to prove to Dean that she was worthy of being his Omega, that she could care for him, be there for him and provide for him.
After stepping out of the bathroom, the other tall man was in the room as well. His name seemed to be Sam, at least that’s what she thought. “Hi, I’m Sam.”, he said, smiling and bringing her in for a hug. Dean growled in the background. “I’m Y/N”, you answered. “I brought you some food from the Diner down the road, I didn’t know what you might like and how hungry you would be, so I just brought a little bit of everything”, Sam said once again and gave you a plate, sitting down at the small table at the other side of the room. You looked at Dean, then took a plate and loaded it up with food, sitting down next to Sam at the table, only to be followed shortly by Dean. “We need to talk”, he said into your ear. The three of you ate and talked. You really liked to see how relaxed Dean was with Sam around, how happy he looked but mostly you like to hear him laugh. It was really deep and his eyes lit up, sparkling. Y/N really wished he would look at her like this but anytime his glance crossed her his mood darkened.
After the three of them finished eating, Y/N immediately got up and started cleaning the table. Sammy excused himself to give the two of them some space. “Listen, Y/N”, Dean says as soon as Sam left. “I didn’t mean to hurt you earlier. I’m really sorry if I did. But you have to understand that my life is really dangerous. This is not a bad excuse, since I’m already feeling so much for you. I admire you, I adore you and I am just feared for your well-being because your so dear to my heart..” Y/N looks at him, feeling something inside her stomach, not quite certain how to feel. She just nods and then feels him coming up behind her. Dean wrapped his arms around her back, burying his head in her hair and started sniffing. Y/N just stopped moving all together: “Are you crying?” Dean tried to chuckle but she turned around and wiped the tears from his face, trying to calm him down. The emotions she felt just by seeing her Alpha cry nearly knocked her to the ground. On one hand she was still very upset with what he had told her earlier but on the other hand she felt something deeper, like a deep connection between the two of them. “We will figure this out together, okay Alpha?”, she looked up into his forest green eyes and put her hands on both sides of his face, forcing him to look into her Y/E/C eyes. Anytime they looked into each others eyes Y/N felt as if all the air was sucked from her lungs, she felt helpless and love struck. The two of them stood there, embracing each other for a while, taking in each others scent. Y/N could hear Deans rapid heart beat slowing, she intertwined her hands behind his neck and he kept brushing over her hair. “Please give me another chance, love”, he whispered, “I want to be good at this.”
Y/N took a step back, once again looking into his eyes: “We have to make this work.” Dean just nodded, grabbing the keys for his car “Baby”: “Let’s get you something to wear and a normal shampoo, so you don’t smell like me.”
He took her hand in his, raised it to his lips and kissed it softly, then leading her outside of the door and towards his car. On the way to the Meyers the new couple talked a lot, Dean even made Y/N laugh a couple of times. “Listen”, he says. Y/N looked up at him through her eye lashes. “You need to get a tattoo. It’s really important for your safety. And you need to apply for a new ID and pick out a ring, sweetheart…” All Dean said didn’t make a lot of sense in Y/N head and he must have figured from the way she looked at him. “Please just do as I say, get the tattoos and I will explain as soon as we’re back.”
Y/N just nodded and they made their way into the mall, holding hands, first going to a tattoo shop. “Hey buddy”, Dean said to the tattooed guy behind the counter. He nodded, symbolizing Dean to keep on talking. Dean swallowed and the said: “My wife wants to get a tattoo. The same one as me.” He pulled the collar of his shirt down and showed the guy the tattoo he had on his left chest, shortly underneath his collar bone. It was a circle with a five edged star inside. The outside looked like a sun. But what left Y/N even more confused was the term “wife”, looking up at him obviously confused. “Well, if she can tell me what she wants, she will be able to get the tattoo”, said the guy behind the counter. Y/N came closer to Dean and before being able to say a thing Dean growled: “Listen, Beta, you better do as I say. This is my Omega and I get to decide what happens with her body.” The guy behind the counter just swallowed and let you pass through to the back where you sat down on a tattoo chair. You opened Deans flannel and about two hours later you had the same tattoo as Dean underneath your left collar bone. After paying, Dean gave you no time to ask questions and dragged you into a jewelry store.
After looking at different necklaces and ring, you went back to Dean who waited on a sofa, reading a magazine. You sat down next to him: “What do you want me to do here?”
“I want you to pick out two rings, gold suits me best. And a necklace if you want to”, he answered without looking up. “Why?”, was the following answer. “Because we are legally married now. Claiming in the state of Texas is the same as getting married. If I hadn’t nearly died two days ago I would have picked a ring myself but maybe you would like to choose them.”, he said, offering a shy smile. Nodding, Y/N went back into the shop and looked around more carefully. Dean followed shortly, looking at the rings his Omega had picked. Two gold bands, very simple. His was thicker and hers had some small shining stones in it, looking very delicate. He also noticed her looking at a necklace more closely. It was very fine and small, a golden choker with a letter, a W - it would look fine around her neck. He came closer and whispered in her ear: “Why the W?” “For Winchester, I thought?”, she said with a low voice. Dean smiled and took all of the things up front to the register.
Dean then ordered her to push her Y/H/C hair to the side to put the necklace around her neck. The fine golden “W” laid right in between her collarbones at the crock of her neck. He then took her left hand in his, slowly pushing the ring onto her finger whilst looking deep into her eyes. “This is a promise, Y/N. I just need to learn how to be good at this.”, he whispered. Afterwards Y/N put her ring onto his left ring finger, just smiling up at him. Still not allowing Dean into her thoughts and feelings again but Y/N thought they got a little closer.
Afterwards Dean pulled her in for a quick kiss and she melted in his touch.
Then they resumed to some other stores, picking up essentials, like shampoo and clothing, as well as some boots for her.

To The Victor Chapter Three - Can't Be Claimed
Tumblr media
Summary: Although Omegas had won the legal battle for equal rights, society was slow to catch up. Thought to be the weakest of the genders, they struggled to find opportunities that Alphas and Betas took for granted. Known as the Guillotine, Emmaline Beaumont was woman with a secret. Head of her family’s company; she was smart, shrewd, and tough as nails. At sixteen she presented as Omega and she’s hidden it ever since. Suppressants and hormone reassignment therapy allowed her to live her life as the Alpha her family needed her to be. The perfect solution, so long as she never allowed herself to be claimed. As the President of Winchester Inc. Dean’s professional life was golden. As an unmated Alpha nearing forty, he was restless. Charming and devastatingly handsome, Dean was rarely without female company, but he wanted more. He wanted what his parents had. Someone made especially for him. His match, his true mate. Finding her on a trip to New York had been an unexpected dream come true, but no one ever said the road to love was easy.

To The Victor Masterlist
The twenty minutes it took for help to arrive were nothing short of agony for Dean. He kept Emma cradled close. Whispering sweet words of encouragement in her ear, telling her to hold on, that help was on the way. She never responded, but he had to believe that she could hear him or at least knew he was there. That he wasn’t leaving her. That he was going to take care of her.
God, she’s so cold!
Dean tugged the blankets closer around the two of them and rubbed her arms roughly, desperate to infuse every ounce of his own heat to her chilled flesh. Give her his strength. Surround her with his scent. In his mind, he kept going over the conversation with Emma’s sister.
Emma can’t be claimed. Family doctor treating her since childhood.
Just what the hell did that mean? If it hadn’t been for the insistent tone in Jess’ voice, Dean would have called 911 instead. As it was, he was doubting his decision.
He pressed a kiss to Emma’s temple, “Keep fighting sweetheart, I’m right here.”
The door to the suite opened without so much as a knock of warning and a short, slight man entered. He wore a slim black suit and tie with a matching fedora pulled down over dark hair. His unsmiling face was sharply featured with beady eyes and a crooked, hawk-like nose. Everything about him was severe and unpleasant. The expression he wore was a mix of displeasure and annoyance. Going by the classic leather satchel in his hand, this man must be the family doctor.
Dean shifted Emma’s unconscious body off his chest and stood, “You the doctor?”
The man removed his hat and placed it on the table along with his bag, “I am Doctor Lancaster, and you are the Alpha who caused all the trouble.” He never spared Dean a glance as he rifled through his bag. His tone suggested an absolute disgust with the situation.
Dean crossed his arms over his chest. He didn’t appreciate being judged by a gargoyle in cheap mortician’s suit. Especially not when his mate’s life was hanging by a thread. “Yup, that’s me. So, are you able to help her?”
Lancaster moved over his patient with efficiency. After he took a few vitals, he drew out a vial and syringe from his bag of tricks. “I believe so, it was a good thing you called when you did. Another hour and she’d be dead.” He swiped an alcohol swab over the crook of Emma’s elbow and administered a hefty dose of the drug.
“What are you giving her?”
“Botox.”
The Alpha didn’t appreciate the sarcasm. He let out a low, menacing growl and clenched his jaw so that the muscle there twitched.
The doctor was equally unimpressed with the show of aggression. “It’s a combination of adrenaline, beta blockers and hormone booster.”
Dean frowned as he realized the implication, “She was on suppressants?”
“Ah! An Alpha with a brain! Nice to know at least one of you rutting beasts can think with something other than your nether regions.” Lancaster checked Emma’s pulse one last time. With a satisfied nod, he shut his bag and stood.
“Your Omega is going to be fine. Her temperature is already rising, and her heat cycle will now continue as normal.” The doctor gave Dean an appraising once over. “Judging by your own state, I’d say you are already aware of that.”
Dean was loathed to admit this quack was right about anything. The cavalier way he was treating a medical emergency should have him barred from practicing medicine anywhere in the civilized world. The fact that the emergency was his mate, made Dean want to rip the man’s throat out on principle alone. Yet, the little troll had done something right, because he could now pick up Emma’s scent. It was intoxicating, and stronger than it had ever been. Apple orchards and magnolia blossoms, it made his mouth water. His rut, that had been threatening since meeting Emma was now in full swing. His thoughts were quickly giving way to is Alpha instincts; protect, care for, and knot his mate.
Lancaster already had his hand on the door, knowing his presence wouldn’t be tolerated by a rutting Alpha for much longer. “She’ll wake in a couple of hours. When she does, the best treatment for her, is you.”
It was the faint, high pitched whine that finally pulled Emma from her dreamless sleep. She felt warm and secure. That lovely scent of sun-warmed cedar forest tickled her nose and she sighed in contentment, snuggling towards it.
“’Mega?”
The worry edged fear in that deep voice had her frowning before she even opened her eyes. When she did, Dean’s face was mere inches from hers, his handsome features tight with stress. The anxiety that rolled off him in waves made her heart clench. He was terrified.
She brought her hand out from under the nest of blankets and threaded it through Dean’s hair, “Alpha.”
Dean crushed her to his chest, his whole body trembled, weak with relief. After that wretched doctor left, Dean had ridded them both of their clothes and bundled them up under a mountain of blankets. He kept their bodies pressed as closely together as possible, his instincts telling him skin to skin contact was crucial to his Omega’s recovery. A warm, safe nest for just the two of them where he could protect her and look after her properly.
He scented her deeply, desperate to drown himself in the sweet fragrance. “Thank God,” he murmured over and over again.
“Shh, it’s alright. I’m alright,” she soothed, brushing kisses against his forehead. She held him tight as he shook in her arms. A virile, strong Alpha like him wouldn’t be scared by much, and that told her all she needed to know about how critical things had gotten.
He had taken care of her, gotten her help and no doubt saved her life. Now it was her turn to take care of him, “I’ve got you; I’m right here.”
He kissed her roughly, stealing her words along with her breath. Desperation and urgency in every heated pass of his mouth over hers. His hands groped her aggressively, pawing at any bit of softness he could find. It took him several minutes to regain his control. He abruptly pulled away, panting for composure he would not easily grasp.
“I’m sorry… sorry.” He let his forehead fall against hers as his chest heaved. His voice was low and hoarse. “You need rest.”
Emma studied Dean’s pinched features. The tension coiled uncomfortably, barely contained, under the surface, sweat dotted his skin and his rock-hard length twitched between them. His eyes were nearly black, overtaken by the hormones and lust ravaging his system. This whole mess had triggered his rut, God knows how long he had been suffering with it while she was unconscious. The added worry that his mate was dying had made it nearly unbearable.
Her heart broke for him then and with it came guilt. This whole thing was her fault. She knew the consequences of doing anything with an Alpha while she was still taking the treatments. It was reckless and irresponsible and unforgivably selfish.
She cupped the side of his face, gently brushing her thumb over the ridge of his cheekbone. He closed his eyes and leaned into her soothing touch. “I don’t need rest. I only need you.”
“No,” he muttered, trying to ignore the urges running through him. “I’m rough. Too rough. Don’t wanna hurt you.”
She continued to stroke his face, calming and soothing. “You won’t hurt me, I’m your Omega. And your Omega is a strong Omega.”
Dean mustered up a final ounce of control and looked into her deep, blue eyes. The comfort and consent he saw there eased the tightness in his chest. “’Mega mine.”
“Yours.” Emma confirmed softly and brushed her lips feather-light over his, “Mate now. Rest later.”
It lasted five days in total. Each of them seamlessly providing what the other needed most. Alpha and Omega. Balanced. Each a perfect counterpoint to the other. They relished in the joy of being together. Every experience was exciting and new, every touch satisfied in ways that surprised. Very few words were spoken, their connection was so strong that it over-rode the need to talk. That knowing, that deep down in the soul kind of certainty was staggering. The intimacy of their bond was deeper and more complex than either of them had ever known.
Now that their respective heat and rut cycles had ended, they were left with the rather mundane task of how to weave their lives together. These were the boring, yet very necessary details of the real world. The world outside of cozy one they’d created within the confines of the hotel suite. Neither of them were particularly excited at the prospect.
“So, going by this hotel room we’ve been honeymooning in, I’m guessing you’re not a New Yorker.”
Dean caught her gaze in the mirror as he deftly buttoned up the crisp, white dress shirt and smiled. Even her reflection caused his stomach to flip over. “Nope, Chicago. Born and bred. You?”
“Manhattan.”
“You ever been to the windy city?”
“A couple of times,” she shrugged, tucking her legs up demurely under her backside. “It’s not bad for fly-over country.”
“Fly-over country?” Dean scoffed, “Chicago is in the heartland, the Midwest. Everything a big city has to offer with access to wide open spaces. Way better than this uptight sand bar.”
“Is that so? Then what’s a guy like you doing slumming it around the boroughs? Cruising for a mate?”
“Nah, I just got lucky.” Dean plopped down to sit beside her on the bed and kissed her loudly. “I travel a lot for work. I’m in New York once a month or so.”
“Will you come back more now?” She asked hopefully, the thought of only seeing him once a month had her heart twisting.
“Well, I thought that you’d come back with me. You know, live with me in Chicago.” Seeing her face fall, he rushed to reassure her, hoping that he wasn’t bungling things too much. “I’m sure you will need some time to get things tied up here, but I want you with me ‘Mega. And we can come back as often as you like.”
“Why don’t you move here with me?”
Dean nearly scoffed, but the earnest look in her eyes suggested a softer approach might be better. “Sweetheart, my business is in Chicago. I make a good living, an excellent living actually. I have an apartment there along with some property in the country. I’ll take good care of you; you won’t have to worry about anything ever again.”
She raised her chin to look Dean square in the eye, “My business is in New York. I make an excellent living and I own a beautiful Brownstone on the upper east side. I don’t have a country cottage, but I’m willing to work that into our negotiations.”
“Negotiations?!” He sat back with a laugh, “You are something else, you know that? Omegas don’t negotiate living arrangements with their Alphas.”
She leveled her gaze, “Yours does.”
His mate wasn’t one to give in easily, and he loved that about her. Her spirit. Her fight. She challenged him, made him earn her submission. Made him prove he was worthy of her. He was happy to oblige her.
He leaned in close, his mouth centimeters from hers but not touching. He ghosted over, getting tantalizingly close but never making contact. Catching on, she let him edge her backwards on the bed. It was one of those games teenagers play, like there’s an invisible barrier around their bodies that allow them to get close but never touch. They moved in tandem, he filled up space she had occupied only moments before. She retreated as he advanced.
Dean’s movements were sleek and slow, like a panther. He never stopped his progression, never broke contact with her gaze. He watched with hooded eyes as the glint of rebellion gave over to something softer.
He hovered over her body only a hair’s breadth away, his grin was predatory, “Lucky for you, I’m an expert negotiator.”
Emma struggled to keep her thoughts orderly. It was growing increasingly difficult as her mate hovered above her. His scent surrounded her, his arms and legs caging her in. He was everywhere and she could feel herself start to float on that heady, seductive cloud. She couldn’t help the sigh that escaped her lips. Nowhere in the whole world felt as good, as right, as being with him.
It wasn’t until he saw her eyes flutter shut that he broke that invisible barrier between them. His nose brushed the claiming mark and inhaled deeply before moving on to the spot just behind her ear. It was one of her favorites and he had discovered just how sensitive it was over the past few days.
When he nuzzled her then nipped, she moaned and brought her fingers up to comb through his hair still damp from the shower. “Mmm… you make a valid point.”
He chuckled as he continued his assault. Moving down the graceful column of her neck, he sampled silky skin.
“I have an idea,” she said as Dean made his way to the zipper of her hoodie and started to ease it down. When he didn’t reply but moved his fingers moved to her waistband, she gave a sharp tug on the short hairs at the base of his skull.
“Agh!” He grunted as she wiggled out from under him. With a pained sigh and a semi hard erection, he propped himself up on one elbow. “Better watch it, Sweetheart. You know I like it rough.”
Emma sat up, regal as a queen. Determined to get back to business. “I think we should date.”
“Date,” he repeated. “We’re mated. We’ve spent the last five days claiming each other in every way possible. Don’t you think we’re a little past the dating phase?”
A worried frown creased her brow, “You don’t want to date me?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“I know it’s a little… backwards, but so what? Why should we do things the way other people do?” She gave a shy smile as she appealed to him. “I want to get to know you.”
He sat himself up completely and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, “We are going to spend the rest of our lives getting to know each other.”
He instead of reassuring her, he felt her pull away. He felt like kicking himself, somehow, he’d managed to say something wrong. He crooked a finger under her chin and forced her to look at him. There was disappointment there, “It means that much to you?”
“Well, I thought it would be fun and I… I’ve never dated before. Not really, anyway.” She replied, struggling to keep embarrassment from coloring her voice.
Dean couldn’t help being surprised. Shocked. She was a beautiful woman, stunning actually. He had no doubt that his pretty little Omega had turned heads from an early age. She was so smart and fun and sexy, it seemed impossible that no one had ever tried to date her. Although the very thought had his possessive Alpha jealousy flaring.
“Never? No boyfriend ever?”
She shook her head and bit her lip. One of her more noticeable nervous tells. “No, not really. I mean, I’ve gone on a few dates but there was never anyone special.”
“Does this have to do with those black-market suppressants you were taking?”
“They weren’t black-market,” she countered, “I wasn’t getting shot up in back alleys, I was under a doctor’s care.”
“Oh, you mean that gargoyle that showed up? That guy was a dick, he had the bedside manner of a cab driver!”
“What he lacks in congeniality he makes up for in discretion.” Emma crossed her arms over her chest defensively. She wasn’t accustomed to defending her actions to anyone, especially regarding her presentation treatments. It was a well-guarded family secret, discussing it with anyone else made her very uneasy. Even if that person was her Alpha, the one person meant to protect her.
“Being an Omega is nothing but a liability, it’s a weakness. This city is full of Alphas who think they can drag me back to their cave by my ponytail. Or boss me around because the world order says they should be in charge of everything!”
Frustrated, she blinked back the stinging in her eyes. Tears that threatened to fall only seemed to undermine her point. Usually, she had a tight rein on her emotions but ever since being claimed, they refused to stay where she put them. They were like a storm she was constantly trying to keep from breaking through.
“I just wanted to live my life without having to worry that my presentation would get me overlooked for a promotion or kidnapped by a rut-crazed Alpha.”
Dean hated the fear and stress he felt from her. Her eyes bright with unshed tears. He knew the world wasn’t an easy place for Omegas. Emma certainly wasn’t alone in her feelings on the matter and many others had taken the same route. Suppressants and scent blockers were a common and safe method for most people who wanted a bit of anonymity.
“You’re right,” he said with a sigh, taking both of her hands in his. Reveling in how delicate they seemed compared to his. How easily they could be bruised or broken. “There’s nothing wrong with Omegas using suppressants. Hell, if I were in your shoes, I’d probably do the same thing. It’s just that reaction you had, you were so cold. I thought I was going to lose you. I’ve never been that scared. And then that creepy doctor… acting like he didn’t care if you lived or died. I wanted to kill him with my bare hands.”
Emma leaned forward and rested her forehead against his. “I know. I’m sorry Dean, it’s my fault. I knew better, I just got caught up. And then when my heat started, I couldn’t think straight.”
“It’s understandable. I did kind of sweep you off your feet.”
“You did,” she smiled softly. “That’s why I had only been with Betas before.”
Dean pulled back and looked at her with curiosity, “So you’ve never been with an Alpha before me?”
“No.”
His grin was instant and cocky as his chest puffed out. “Good.”
She rolled her eyes, “Shut up.”
He laughed and pulled her onto his lap, tucking her head under his chin. She fit there so perfectly; Dean knew he would never grow tired of holding her. Leaving New York without her, would likely be one of the hardest things he would ever do. He took a deep inhale of her sweet scent and groaned. “Okay Sweetheart, you win. Let’s date.”
Emma drew back and looked up at him with wide, hopeful eyes, “Really?”
“Hell, why not!”
She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him with such enthusiasm that he nearly toppled backwards. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
“Just you wait,” he muttered through their joined lips, “I’ve got all kinds of romantic cards up my sleeve.”
When her face lit up Dean felt his heart swell. Yeah, being separated for any amount of time would be torture, but worth it if it made her so happy.
She eyed him with suspicion. “You aren’t just giving me my way because I cried, are you?”
“I hate seeing you cry, but no. You made a valid point. It’ll take us time to get everything figured out, why not have some fun while we’re at it?”
The dimple in her left cheek appeared and her eyes sparkled with the smile that bloomed. She was practically glowing with excitement and hope. Shining like the sun, the new center of his universe. His whole future held in his arms.
