yknow what. im all for shipping who you wanna ship and all the recent jeanee support has produced some SUPER art and posts. but honestly? I feel like they are too far apart geographically-wise for it to work. this isn’t me “proving” jerejean is going to happen, however fun that’d be even though it might also be a teensy bit out there given the fact that they’ve never interacted in canon and Jeremy might just be the dan or Matt of tsc, given he’s captain or bc he’s so bright, but idk much if anything abt Nora’s writing patterns, or whether she even has any.

listen I love the aftg fandom and I’m so amazed on the amount of talent and years people have spent keeping these amazing characters alive AND I recognize how completely bonkers it is for people to constantly argue with Nora about the drafts and extra content. Like I’m sorry there’s something you wanted that wasn’t in canon but you found out was in the drafts. There’s a reason the drafts stayed drafts Frankly I fell in love with the final product what do I care about what it was before?? if we accepted the drafts as canon neil, andrew and kevin would all have very different personalities and jean would be dead. that’s not even the same story. for the extra content nothing is stopping you from ignoring it. it’s not canon despite the author proposing it. take what you want ignore what you don’t like and leave. nora. alone.

thinking about Jean joining The Trojans and how that's going to go. AFTG came out about ten years ago and the series is set about ten years before then (2006-7 for AFTG and TSC will be 2007-8). There's not a whole lot of common knowledge surrounding mental health at that time compared to today.

We get to see the Foxes figure stuff out on their own because a lot of them have shared experiences (addiction, abuse, family trauma) but that's specific to their team. The Trojans are described as "more normal" and I'm a little worried about how they are gonna handle Jean.

Physical touch on teams is something that just happens: arms thrown over shoulders, hugs, pats, (even slaps on the butt on my team haha) and all that. Communal spaces for showering and changing is also just everyday life, being comfortable in vulnerability. The Foxes have boundaries with these things but I highly doubt The Trojans do, especially considering the time.

basically I'm interested to go into TSC with a 2024 perspective in a very 2000's world.
