Numb3rs season 2 — some thoughts
Numb3rs season 2 — some thoughts
Unlike season 1, Numb3rs season 2 is a full run of 24 episodes. The FBI team has been tweaked, with newcomer Megan Reeves (Diane Farr) joining along with Colby Granger (Dylan Bruno). Within the team, it seems (to me) David Sinclair (Alimi Ballard) seems a little more senior. Add in the brothers Eppes (FBI Agent Don (Rob Morrow) and Professor of Mathematics Charlie (David Krumholtz)) with father…

Qui ment ? (saison 2)
Qui ment ? (saison 2)
Coucou !

i dont think it's a coincidence that the more confident i get on my new meds the more all witch media appeals. there's a fantastic retrospective analysis of sabrina the teenage witch (a favorite show when i was a kid). at the age of 9 or so, i had no idea it was intentionally and subversively feminist, at least in the first season. sabrina is shown reading "the bell jar"! the studio wanted sabrina's mom to be dead but the creators insisted she should be pursuing a high level anthropology career on another continent. the show often portrays that the solution to problems is solidarity between women. the creator apparently regrets the lack of more diversity but the show did have two guest star roles (one may have been a temporary main cast member) played by black men - alimi ballard and donald faison. i haven't gone back to see the quality of the writing there but i did see a kiss between donald and melissa joan hart in the linked video. for context, 1968 was the airing date of THAT kiss on star trek when an interracial kiss was such a threat to studios that they filmed an alternative scene without the kiss to air. by the 90s, tv was starting to work through (sometimes in clumsy ways) the need to bring POC into mainstream programming enjoyed by typically white audiences. fresh prince and steve urkel (family matters) were hits in their own right and broader interest in r&b/hip hop would lead in part to n*sync/boy band mania. the video notes that in successive, post-s1 seasons, the studio pushed for more gags, stunts, and visual gimmicks, so some of the subversive elements got lost. but the retrospective 100% explains why the show had such a special place in my heart. it wasn't about a simple fantasy of having magical powers, it was about the relationships between the central women characters, the sometimes layered or clever humor, the excitement of the quirky witch/warlock/supernatural characters that would sweep in and shake things up, the sweet romance between harvey and sabrina, and we can't fail to mention the EXTREME erotic tension between sabrina and libby.
what a show, guys

Jess Watches // Wed 17 Apr // Day 203 Synopses & Favourite Scenes & Poll
Palm Royale (with B) 1x07 Maxine Bags a Prince
Douglas faces a looming threat. Robert navigates his increasingly serious relationship with the prince. Linda and Evelyn receive shocking news.
I felt bad for Robert not getting his Prince Charming (but not sincere). I'll be surprised if he doesn't have more suitors lined up after looking so handsome wearing a kilt. Maybe he'll help Norma with her revenge plot against Maxine.
The Resident (with mum) 3x03 Saints & Sinners
When a police officer brings in an injured criminal, the staff must keep him alive; Nic gets roped into a surgical rotation with Cain that leaves her questioning the way he operates; Conrad makes a shocking discovery about the hospital.
It was nice to see Alimi Ballard on my screen, but he was a cop and I was Devon, supicious of his intentions. And I was pleasantly surprised Cain gave Nic full credit for the patient's diagnosis. Ofc he wants her permanently. Me too. Me too. Also, Conrad making the connection that Jessie's death could be from malpractice makes me worried about next episode and how Nic will cope.
Moving (with L) Ep 19 Final Battle
The fight takes a new turn with the appearance of a new North Korean superbeing, Jaeseok.
My friend, when a character was getting punched into a wall: Throw him out the bloody window!
*Camera pans around to the window just as the bad guy is yeeted through it*
Me and my friend: *dissolve into fits of giggles*
Merlin 2x10 Sweet Dreams
Five kings gather in Camelot to sign a peace treaty, but one of them intends to sabotage the peace. King Alined's jester uses magic to enchant Prince Arthur to fall in love with the beautiful Lady Vivian to incite a war between her possessive father, King Olaf, and Camelot.
Arthur really was Prince Sincere (but not charming) lol. And as sweet as it was that Merlin convinced Gwen she was his true love, I'm pretty sure the Dragon and Gaius both thought Merlin was a valid contender for his affections too.

Hypothetical Numb3rs episodes and/or fanfics
Don having a dream where he is a doctor in a small Alaskan town while Charlie dreams of being an elf in the North Pole during a Christmas/Hanukkah episode.
Colby has a dream reminiscent a Steven king story while working a case involving personal people in his past.
