I suppose I'm wondering about what classes everyone takes? Which electives do they take or what clubs they are in AND THEN which background characters are in those clubs and classes. Who are they. Please tell me about the mundane details of the cast pleasepleaseplease anything
HI!!! this ask has been sitting here for a bit but i really wanted to answer this on desktop, especially considering i have pictures on my computer of actual side characters for stuff like this!!
so, the main cast doesnt have a planned out schedule that i have made, however i can tell you which classes they definitely have and some side characters that i have so far for these classe.
so, sinie and daren are in art club as a side thing! daren has been taking art classes since his freshman year, his passion is art and he dabbles in a little bit of it all. so a lot of his elective classes are art related. sinie also rly likes art, but she's more of a sketching and making-my-own-clothes kind of artist. real shit i should put a sewing machine in sinie's room, its big enough and quite empty compared to everyone else's in my concept art....
here are two characters i have sketched out from art club!
Tumblr media
rae has more of a personality written down but emerald i see as a very kind hearted, yet feisty girl with lots of style. she's sassy, but also has very good advice when it comes to detail
csilla, heather, and elise would all be in a cooking class together. csilla because she has neglectful parents and heather and elise for the fact that theyre obsessed with each other and also love cooking hahaha
elise would also be in a hair/cosmetology class. she's obsessed with The Look and fashion and makeup, so she would love to be professionally taught how to basically be a beauty guru haha
sinie is also in track! daren was when they were in middle school, but dropped it in high school to pursue art. sinie also likes to play soccer!
agitha is the head of the student council, and even has her own little posse!
Tumblr media
i have an entire scene with them in chapter 3 which is Very fun. i had a lot of fun with it and i cant wait to explore them! oh csilla is also in the student council, recruited by agitha herself. so that means she's gonna be apart of this group too! awkward tho considering agitha and csilla are rivals, yet lbr, csilla would easily win over yumi and alex. (alex puts on a face of stoic-ness but she's actually just a wet cat lmao)
so yeah!! thats rly all i got, i dont rly know what their schedules would look like rn haha but i do wanna design more side characters!

[book review] star trek: discovery: wonderlands by una mccormack (2021)
i love michael burnham and i love season 3 of star trek: discovery and i love michael burnham in season 3 of star trek: discovery. but when michael shows up in the future without discovery and meets book and starts going on dystopian space adventures, i found myself terrified that they were going to have it take a significant amount of time for her to find her way back to discovery. and i’m sorry but that’s just super not what i come to star trek for!
and, you know, technically they did do that because it took her a year to find discovery (because they arrived a year after her), but also they didn’t because it happened in literally the next episode? and i thought they did a great job of telling that story and exploring the gap between who michael was in the first episode of the season and who she was in the second episode of the season, but given that i was super relieved we didn’t have to live through that year of her life where she was on her own in this kinda terrible future i wasn’t really super excited to read the book about… that year of her life where she was on her own in this kinda terrible future?
una mccormack has a really strong grasp of michael’s character, though, and that made this a pretty good read in spite of my misgivings going into it. again this is just super not the kind of story i go to star trek for, but the execution was pretty great and there was one other huge mitigating factor that made me like the book more than i probably otherwise would have.
so, one of my favorite things about season 3 of the show aside from the fact that we went from having our first ever gay main characters to having a bonus lesbian as well as two trans/nonbinary characters who are fucking gay dating each other, and aside from the fact that its storytelling was excellent, and aside from the fact that every single episode was a banger… wait, hang on, there were a lot of things i loved about season 3 it’s almost like it was one of my favorite seasons of television ever.
okay fine, one of the extremely many things i loved about season 3 of the show was an almost blink and you miss it detail in the penultimate episode of the season. and that would be admiral vance explicitly stating that the federation opposes capitalism in every form and that that’s the biggest crux of the ideological struggle between it and the emerald chain. and like, that’s been pretty fucking obvious to anyone who’s paying attention since like at least tng, but given that the franchise has always stopped just short of actually saying that shit out loud, it was pretty cool to finally actually hear it said that straightforwardly. (also like, a weirdly vocal minority of the show’s fans have somehow been missing that memo this whole time, so it’s not like no one needed it spelled out.)
so what’s nice about this novel is it actually expands on that quite a bit, with michael ruminating at length about the harm that capitalism is doing to the world she finds herself navigating in her first year in the 32nd century. so that’s the other biggest thing this novel has going for it.
again this isn’t a story i was super excited for, and it’s definitely not one of my favorite discovery novels, but there was a lot to like about it and the quality to quantity ratio with these discovery novels continues to be tilted drastically in favor of the former and i just think that’s a super great move for everyone concerned, and i’m really looking forward to whenever the next one drops. (pleasepleaseplease let it be about adira and gray, they are so important and i love them so much, okay thank you bye.)

name.  leonnaux altoix age.  mid-20′s race.  duskwight elezen, wildwood-passing pronouns.  he/him profession. bartender / mixologist, alchemist; information broker, thief residence. ul'dah full profile.  https://aceofcrows.carrd.co (updated 5/22/2022!)
⸻ looking for.
community. fc / ls & cwls / discord communities / venues to hang out at / etc; i tend to work best in group environments because of time and energy constraints that make keeping up with one on one rp draining, especially when it comes to introducing characters to each other. i love meeting people and making new friends though, so if you have a space that is chill and vibing, hit me up!!
free-form / character-driven rp encounters. self-explanatory! i prefer free-form rp that’s closer to collaborative writing rather than getting involved with all sorts of messy dice systems. i will use dice systems if they are required for aforementioned, but tabletop-style rp has never been my cup of tea.
⸻ hooks.
more detail on these can be found on his carrd here: https://aceofcrows.carrd.co/#future
a crooked kingdom. information broker. conman. thief. all of these are words that could be used to describe what he does for a living, but what would life be if you never strove for anything more? leonnaux desires to expand his influence in the eorzean underworld by forging connections to others and having debts owed to him by others. of particular interest are other information brokers, professional fixers and problem-solvers, and fences. with regards to what he offers: neutral ground at the cloak & dagger, his own skills as an investigator, and perhaps some arcane assistance, of course.
broadening horizons. are you a mentor or teacher looking to take on a student or apprentice? leonnaux is interested in expanding his horizons in a variety of fields, including culinary arts, swordsmanship, and language-learning. in exchange, he can offer coin as well as some knowledge of his own. he is also interested in finding legitimate work, travelling, participating in leisure organizations such as book clubs, and going out for drinks.
the blood you owe. they say you are just a reflection of all that you’ve seen, and leonnaux in truth is no different; despite attempts to distance himself from his history in gridania and his heritage as a duskwight, it isn’t a matter he can run from forever... loathe as he is to admit it. have you been similarly outcast by society for whatever reason? you may find a kindred spirit in leonnaux.

2, 21, 23, 30!
Thank you so much for the ask aaah!! I am now going to go into far more detail than is necessary because I love to talk HAHA
2. three last songs you listened to
A: Miss Miseryguts (by R.I.P)
This song slaps so hard. I have been listening to it on repeat for like a week. The lyrics are so good and I have been imagining amvs with my oc to it (his name is Chamomile, he is a strawberry cow-boy, and this song is a little more toxic than he usually is, but I'm imagining that it's like an evil au or something LOL)
B: The soundtrack from Animation VS Minecraft: The King (by Scott Buckley)
Listen. Listen for just one second. Imagine theres an animated series. It's about this guy who draws some stick figures on his computer, and they come to life. Hijinks ensue, and they have all sorts of wacky adventures on his desktop, and eventually in Minecraft as well.
Look me in the eyes. This thing has lore. And character arcs. And morally grey characters with tragic backstories.
And it also has crazy good music (WITH LEITMOTIFS). The link above is the soundtrack for The King, aka the season 3 finale and an episode that literally made me cry actual tears. But I also reccomend listening to the Pigstep Remix (PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE LISTEN TO IT it's an absolute banger, it starts with the og minecraft music disc music, then transitions into this crazy good orchestral arrangement PLEASE listen I am BEGGING you), and watching the epsiodes Note Block Battle (silly nonsense, no lore or understanding of the series needed, but funky tunes) and Note Block Universe (the first half is silly nonsense with funky tunes, the second half features one of the aformentioned Morally Grey Characters and their tragic backstory. Lots of it won't make sense unless you know the series, but I can't talk about the AVM series or it's music without talking about it) (both Note Block episodes use music as a main plot point) (also, there is almost never any dialogue, which makes the music absolutely shine when conveying emotions, in addition to the animation [which is so expressive despite the characters literally not having faces. They can emote SO much with JUST body language]) (I am getting SO off track I'm sorry I just love AVM so much) (one day im going to write a 10,000 word rant about how good AVM is I swear)
C: HYACINTHUS (by Aidoneus)
Man, it's just so beautiful, and considering it's about the story of Apollo and Hyacinthus, I love it from a story AND religious viewpoint 🪻🌻
21. three songs of your childhood
Last of Me by CircusP, Echo (Nightcore) (by Jason Walker), and Pika Girl (Nightcore) (by S3RL) were PEAK music to my extremely depressed 12 year old self, I was DEEP into vocaloid/nightcore/etc and honestly I still am GRHWHAHE
23. three songs that never fail to get you pumped up
A: BREADY STEADY GO (by OMOCAT)
The entire Omori OST is absolutely amazing, and has such a good range of different emotions, but the boss themes especially are SO good. This one is SUCH a banger AGHHH
B: Voices (by Derivakat)
One of my favourite Technoblade tributes. It is absolutely incredible. Also listen to the version by The Jukeblockers, it features lyrics in like 12 languages and it has a sick guitar solo bit
C: World's End Valentine (by OMOCAT)
It's another Omori one but I literally cannot help it. It's SO GOOD AAAGGHHHHHHHH
30. three songs you really want your followers to know (for reasons other than all those above)
A: Innocence (by Nathan Wagner) Holy fuck. One of the most beautiful and haunting songs I've ever heard in my whole life. If you only listen to one of these songs, make this one of them. Please. Also, it is VERY good for imagining amvs in your head.
B: Sealed Vessel (by Christopher Larkin) and OMORI + ALTER (by OMOCAT)
Technically this is 2 songs (technically 3 but OMORI and ALTER are like a part 1 and 2 of the same song), but they both fall into "video game final boss themes that make me want to cry", even though they are quite different. Sealed Vessel is more haunting and heart-sinkingly sad, especially near the end. OMORI + ALTER is sad, but more in a chest-tightening anxious way. If you know the stories of Hollow Knight and Omori, you know that the lore for both of them is heartbreaking, and these songs fit that perfectly.
C: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Theme
God. This song just makes me feel so much. The main bit makes my heart race and gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. I don't even know why, or how to describe it. And it means so much to me emotionally as well. BOTW was a huge part of my life, and it always will be. This game gave me escapism when I was going through a really traumatic part of my life, Link was a big part of figuring out my gender identity, and I would spend time with my mom by playing while she watched. It's so important to me, and this song makes me feel so many feelings. Man.
