Okay, okay, fine I am doing analysis of Damon Baker's photoshoots 😂

That said, since a lot of people already analyzed Kris' and since Bojan's has less picture, I am gonna start with his. Also obviously, this is totally subjective, I am not claiming this is one true or absolutely correct analysis, just my thoughts on it.

So I cropped the pictures so I can analyze them separately

To start off with these two, because I think they were put like this bery purposefully. On the left, we have Bojan with his arms crossed, his expression is, the reminiscent of "The Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel (I apologize, someone else already did a comparison but I can't find it rn, feel free to tell me in the replies and I'll tag you). Bojan looks almost angry, his crossed over arms showing he is closed off and the spikes on his biceps emphasizes that. It literally feels like a warning sign. His eyes are downcast, as if he is looking down on something or someone. He is something to look at, but not touch, if you don't want to get hurt.

Then we have a smaller pictures right next to his one, that's almost exact opposite. It feels like we caught him in a momen where he was not meant to be seen. His face look tortured, like he just cried or is about to cry. His hair is messy in a way that doesn't feel like it was on purpose, but rather as if he messed it up during his inner turmoil. There is also a cigarette, which implies he is taking it to calm himself. His eyes are pointed upwards, as if he is seeking guidance from someone above him.

I feel like, for me, from storytelling perspective, these two pictures put together like this hint at Bojan's struggle with anxiety.

He is trying to appear tough and untouchable, the way he feels he has to be, but he is struggling internally. This is overall theme of the shoot, I think.

Next we have this shot of his outfit. My first thought when I saw this was "this looks oddly rugged for Bojan". And I do stand by it. The shirt is half undone, half tucked into his pants, but half outside in the back. Like he got dressed in a hurry. Like he doesn't care or perhaps doesn't have the energy to care about how he is appearing. And then, tbe belt buckle with a broken heart. I think, that's the core element in this particular picture. Especially in comparison to Kris' heart necklace. Despite the rugged clothes, there is something fragile underneath all that. His heart.

Then we have this one. And it's such a stark contrast than the previous three, I was genuinely shook. In this one, Bojan is openly vulnerable towards the camera, towards the viewer. Not looking up or down, but directly to the camera. Also the detail that @theraggedygirl11 pointed out about him wearing Damon's "safe sweater" broke me. It's almost as if he is saying, "look, this is how I am when I am allowed to be safe. This is how I am when I am not suffering".

What a contrast to the above outfit! The open shirt only poised as fake vulnerability, when a truly vulnerable Bojan isn't showing off his skin at all here, but rather his face. His emotions, all on display.

Another thing that strikes me as amazing in this particular picture (can you tell this one is my favorite?) is that his pose looks comfortable and his hair falls gently to the side, freely showing off his gray hairs, that are especially visible in black and white.

Then at last, we come to these three, all in color. Unlike Kris, who had water, Bojan has fire as his "element" in this photoshoot. Fire is passion, light, warmth. It entices you, and it's much more noticable at first. But it can also burn you. There is also a reason why we say we "burn out" as well. Bojan holding a literally lit match in his mouth is such an amazing imagery.

We all know that magic trick of a man extinguishing a match in his mouth, for the entertainment of all. Putting himself in a very vulnerable position. Lips, mouth and tongue are so soft, especially compared to fire that burns. And is that not in a way, exactly what Bojan does? He pours out his heart while he sings, leaving it to the crowd to decide if they are entertained with his preformance. And surez ither do it too, but I think we can agree he is the most on display.

The way he is looking at the camera first, as if waiting for a reaction, and then as the fire gets closer, his eyes close too, as if he is too scared to look.

Just....augh, I love the way Damon Baker showcased his personality through these and how he expressed so much through just a few pictures. Also, please feel free to add your own thoughts, I love hear other ppl's opinions on things like these

don't get him wrong, pierro, who was always regarded as a man cut out of stone with a block of ice instead of a heart, could feel his resolve melt dangerously quickly with you and he simply adored your kind nature, but here, in the heart of snezhnaya where they traded in 'blood and tears' kindness was a fatal trait that could lead to your swift demise

but unfortunately for him, you already were known through almost the whole palace for your gentle and friendly character, even though a commoner, you had much more power than you realized, and among the safe admirers you had that pierro didn't like but tolerated, there were also the dark sneering miasma that crawled along the halls and slithered right up against you without you even realizing it

of course with pierro taking a fancy towards you, all the other harbingers were bound to eventually piece the puzzles together and figure him out, but he's still their leader, their elder in every sense and he made is very clear that the rest of them is not to mingle with you as they are literally the symbols of misery and death and he'll make sure that anyone who crosses that line will be swiftly dealt with

and of course only a few actually listened, and just as he suspected some of his colleagues took a weird fascination, or rather obsession with you, especially that little ginger brat, tartaglia

he was brash, bold and boisterous, his lust for bloodshed almost comical in pierro's eyes, but the thing that grated on his nerves the most is his unpredictability and he knew that childe was literally a ticking time bomb and you were the unfortunate trigger

pierro was almost impressed with how you could spend time with the redhead and...seem to enjoy it? if it were possible the boy would have hearts in his eyes when he looked at your form, and don't think he didn't know about the times that little shit spied on you when you were in the throes of pleasure the he, pierro, was providing you with, your little form laid out so deliciously on his massive desk, his thick cock driving into you at a steady pace he knew would drive you crazy, sounds from your wet cunt being overpowered by the loud moans and screams of his name escaping your mouth and begging him for more, more-!

unfortunately for him, these three were much more seasoned and refined in their game, they had half the mind and were much more subtle in their little obsession with you, but that made them only much more vicious opponents

perhaps this was the needed push for pierro to finally make the decision to officially court you, to show his subordinates who exactly was still at the very top and for a reason

but that also led him to confront his own dark thoughts and impulses

he loved you, he really did and he'd never regret choosing to court and marry you, but he was a clever man and he knew that it was a dangerous obsession he had with you, dark thoughts whispering in his ear to lock you away under lock and key in his mansion and never let his pure little dove out, he'd provide for you and protect you, give you everything you'd ever need, any whim you'd ever have would be cared for, be it material or in a more...carnal way, either way he'd do everything if it only meant you never leave him

he was not the leader of the harbingers for centuries for nothing, his experience and prowess proved to never let him astray, his position was the living proof of that, a man that never let emotions dictate his way of life, never let it cloud his judgement, but even he was ultimately just a man who fell so deeply in love that he sometimes felt was choking him alive

pierro was well aware of the hateful and omnipresent eyes of his fellow harbingers, full of anger and jealousy just waiting for a crack in his armor, one fuck up and they'd strike him down and take his treasure for themselves, but he wasn't the eldest and most experienced out of them for nothing, and he had just the perfect remedy for it

MK11 Liu Kang, Fujin, Kitana, Jade, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kano and kotal Kahn reacting to reader who is Enoch from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Pelicular Children.

Liu Kang

Liu Kang would be a bit hostile to you due to your personality but when he discovers your honestly want to (try to) do good, he eases up a bit.

Liu Kang is interested in your abilities; how your able to power a non loving thing.

That is, until he discovers you have to use a living things heart.. though, you may use mice/rat hearts or pigeon hearts..

He is amazed that the dolls actually work when you put the hearts inside. (Just to mess with you, you sometimes make the dolls fight him.)

Fujin

Fujin thinks your an interesting mortal. Despite your cold personality, he is calm with you.

He asked what your hobby is and you said stealing peoples hearts… “pardon me?” “I said I make dolls.” “Ah.. okay..”

Fujin pretends to not hear the first thing you said and asks what type of dolls you make. You disregard his question and say you make dolls. You ask him if he wants to see you make it and he says yes.

You make the dolls and they are kind of.. disturbing but Fujin doesn’t say anything about it. Fujin is about to ask why you make the dolls when he suddenly sees you hold a mini mice heart.

He asks why your holding a heart and you don’t say anything. You put the heart in the doll and it suddenly starts moving. You whisper some things to it and you give it a biscuit. It holds the biscuit and walks towards Fujin. It hands Fujin the biscuit.

He is surprised but grabs the biscuit.. he asks if you use hearts to power the doll and you look at him and ask if he did not just see what you just did.

… He doesn’t say anything but he is interested in your powers.

Kitana/Jade

For some context, you wanted to 𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠 Jade’s heart for your medium sized doll. You made a conclusion that her heart is healthy and full of delicious blood. When she pinned you down, she asked you why you attacked her and you said you wanted to 𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠 her heart and you would give it back.. safe to say, she was shook.

Jade took you to Kitana Khan for punishment. Kitana asked Jade what you did and Jade recited what happened..

Kitana is shook as well.

Kitana decided to spare you so she can see what dolls you make and why they need hearts. Fast forward Kitana, Jade and you are all sitting on a chair by the table and your making a small doll.

Beforehand, Jade caught a rat and you dissected it’s heart. You use tweezers to pick up the heart and you insert it in the back of the dolls body. The doll comes to life and you give it a knife.. you whisper to it and you lean back.

The doll attacks Jade and Kitana.. and they fend off it. After they defeat the mini doll (which was suprisingly hard to do so) they go to confront you but..

your already gone.

Raiden

Raiden felt a disturbance in Earthrealm so he went to investigate it. After a while of searching, he found you, discerning some unfortunate human dead body. Raiden quickly sends a lighting bolt at you and you quickly move at the way.

Then, you calmly go back to what you were doing. Raiden is part of the shook gang. He sends another lighting bolt at you and you move out the way again, before walking to the body and ripping the heart out. Raiden thinks you’ve killed the person so you two engage in combat..

Whilst in combat, you quickly insert the heart into the doll and it comes to life, which makes Raiden pause in shock. (😭) The doll attacks Raiden and he fights the doll.. Raiden destroys the doll and you call him out for destroying your property.. He asks you why you needed the human heart and you said it’s for your dolls.

Raiden asks if your good or bad and you say you aren’t neither. Raiden suggests you join him to defend Earthrealm and you decide to do so.

Perhaps you’ll get more hearts this way! And more hearts equal more friends.

Kung Lao

Kung Lao has already known you for a while. (Honestly, I have no idea how to write how y’all meet so.. you just did lmao)

Kung Lao knows that your able to make dolls but at the cost of a livings things heart. He often asks you to make training dolls when he sees your bored.

It’s very enjoyable to see Kung Lao get beat by some dolls. Sometimes, you make a separate doll and you both bet who’s going to win.

Or, you tell your doll to go extra hard on Kung Lao.. for the frost time in a while, you and your doll literally laugh y’all’s ass off seeing Kung Lao get terribly beat.. (poor him)

Kung Lao cannot lie.. your laughter is kind of dry.. so he slightly cringes when he hears it but he would say anything. (He knows if he were to mention it, he would get jumped by your dolls)

Kano

Kano would definitely want you to make a doll army for him. He would make his men kill about 100+ people so you could take their hearts out and use it to power your dolls.

Although, you are a bit harsh on Kano, saying that you’ll do it if he gives you the amount of money you want. He asks how many money you want.. and you say “only 10 million.. per doll made.”

Aha, Kano choked on his spit. “How about $500,000 for all the dolls?” “No. I want 10 million dollars. If you cannot supply this, I will not make the dolls.”

Now, Kano has to somehow find 200 million dollars. He should be fine. I mean, he is the leader of the Black Dragon. It shouldn’t be difficult.

…

When Kano does give you the 200 million, you tell him that he has to give you $2000 as a late fee. Kano, a bit frustrated with you being a damn hustler, gives the $2000.

You make all the dolls and afterwards you bury the bodies.

(Only thing you didn’t tell Kano was that you made the dolls weak.. so basically, you just robbed him 💀)

Kotal Khan

Like Kano, Kayak Khan may ask you to make some dolls.

Since Kayak is a.. lion? or tiger, err whatever, he would bring you bodies of killers or thief’s.

You would be a bit mad with Kayak because he would often bite down on them a little to hard.. the heart has holes in it.

Kayak is intrigued by your ability to make living dolls from a heart.

(In a AU (alternate universe,) you took Mileena’s plush and put a heart in it. You made it pretend to be dead and when Mileena let her guard down, the plushie attacked Mileena and killed her)

Tell me all about that there Ninjago Connected Universe! Is it a crossover of sorts of all your aus + show & movie?

hehe, no, it's something way bigger than you think. It's my own version of the "pepe silvia" meme. This whole idea is very WIP, but rn, I am gonna consider it canon to ANS, until I can develop it more. Also, if you don't know much about other Lego themes, this'll probably be rlly confusing, sorry.

This will take a fuckton of explanation, so it's all going under the cut :)

Bascially, the idea goes as follows; A good portion of Lego themes take place in the same universe, including Ninjago. You COULD say it's insane because Ninjago doesn't even slightly address any other themes, outside of minor references.

But, the thing is the inclusion of Tox and Mr. Pale all but confirms the existence of the Ultra Agents universe in Ninjago, which includes Astor City.

If Ultra Agents exists in this world, so does Solomon Blaze, the guy who leads the Ultra Agents, and was a member of the Galaxy Squad before then. (Galaxy Squad is abt humans and robots fighting insectoid aliens).

If the Galaxy Squad exists here, so do Monster Fighters (a theme ab humans entering the monster realm to stop a vampire king from uniting six artifacts called Moonstones), because the same race of insectoid aliens are said to have been drawn to the convergence of the Moonstones (from an old magazine), and are alerted to Earth's existence.

This means that Monster Fighters is before Galaxy Squad, and Ultra Agents is after both those themes, and some time during or before Ninjago (as Tox and Mr. Pale aren't criminals in the show). AGAIN, this is a crazy theory, but then again it's my ideas and y'all I'm STILL not done.

Clutch Powers exists, which means Power Miners and Lego City also exist in this world. Because of this, theoretically, Lego City Undercover and Lego City Adventures could be canon to Ninjago.

BUT WAIT, there's even MORE. Jake Raines, the protagonist of "Pharaoh's Quest", has a particular eagle pin on his jacket, the same one that Twitchy Tim has! AND they also share the same pin of a circle with what looks like the front of a light aircraft!!!

This is gonna sound so weird, but then, amidst all this connection, there's Atlantis, Aqua Raiders, and Alien Conquest. According to some other magazines, apparently, an alien warlord helped build the pyramid in Pharaoh's Quest, and when that went south, he aimed to try get the help of the Golden King from Atlantis. In one Atlantis set, there's the skeleton of an Aqua Raiders Diver.

Now, I'm not saying you could squeeze Aqua Raiders and Atlantis in and just say the creatures they deal with are all from Merlopia, BUT ALSO, you could totally do that.

I know this is a huge brain mess but I swear, it'll all make sense! I'll probably just make a lore doc for all this tbh, because this is a LOT.

Now, as for how all this would fit with Ninjago, that's easy. I'd like to think there's a large circle of islands far beyond Ninjago, which are all so close together that most explorers of olden times assumed there was nothing beyond. But the rest? Those presumed lost at sea, dead, or stranded, discovered that far beyond the circle lays several larger landmasses, all with traces of... something. The explorers who DID find these larger landmasses, with remnants of ancient civilizations, went on to populate and build upon these fallen lands. These lands were probably discovered a few hundred years after the Stone Wars, so who knows who or what could have lived there eons ago?

TL;DR: Ninjago, Monster Fighters, Alien Conquest, Pharaoh's Quest, Ultra Agents, Lego City, Clutch Powers (movie), Power Miners, Atlantis, Aqua Raiders, and a fuckton of other themes, and Lego worlds could exist in one continuous world...

Okay, I finally came upon some free time today! Love the new theme and pfp! You post so much too! I legit had to go back and fix this message before sending it since you posted LR14 while I was typing this lmao.

I'm glad Changbin and Hyunjin officially ended the bet in and are just genuinely spending time with Y/n (but I still believe they're way too late with that...like, it's still gonna blow up in their faces I'm afraid) and that Cerberus is getting signed! The second bet boys need to stop though!!! 😩 Seungmin is the main menace in there but I'm so disappointed with Minho being cool continuing the second bet even AFTER he saw Y/n struggling emotionally??? I'm trying to rest more (I'm actually using my comp hours to leave work early today 👍) but I'm in one of the worst states for air quality because of the wildfires rn so my asthma is acting up 🫠 I'm hoping it doesn't look like the apocalypse again this afternoon like yesterday. Thank you! I feel like a change and here we are! And yeah, i’ve been posting like crazy but I think it’s mostly rambles and LR. I inly uploaded early so I could read comments while on break at work lol. I also gave up writing for 3 years before starting Feelbokkie so I think the reason why I’m posting so much is because I repressed my creativity for so long and unfortunately it everyone else’s problem now😅

Seungmin is an absolute menace with the bet I think he just wants to watch the world burn. And as far as I know, I say as if I didn’t write the damn thing, Min doesn’t know that the reason why Y/n shut down is because of the bet. Felix doesn’t even know that because he’s choosing to trust Hyun and Bin when they said there’s no bet going on. Hyunjin vaguely knows it’s because of the bet. He knows that she spiraled because she felt bad for sleeping with both him and Bin but he never put 2 and 2 together. As far as Min knows, she was just sad. But if he realized that it was because of how Hyun and Bin were messing with her, he would have shut that shit down immediately. As for Ji, idk what his problem is. He’s just taking over as leader for baboracha I guess.

And yeah, last night I did the math and if I post a chapter a day it should end by Wednesday. I’m going go try to finish it up today and schedule the posts but we’ll see. Just try to mentally prepare for the last 6 chapters.

I hate crying period, let alone in front of other people. It’s so bad that when my oldest brother died this past December I don’t think I cried. I was like Y/nnine in chapter 12 basically, just worse off, until something totally unrelated happened the week before I posted my first post on here and lost it. I cried in front of my mom and nieces and nephews. It wasn’t pretty. I’m so bad at comforting ppl too (which is shy I don’t write as much fluff I think)

But I have all the Korean albums rn. I’m a baby stay too! (although am I even that anymore with the amount of content I’ve made?) i’m just really bad with saving money 😅

It’s (almost?) wildfire season here so Imm going to have to start wearing a double mask out to avoid getting an asthma attack. (i say almost with a question mark bc I saw a smokey the bear billboard today on my way to work but I’m not entirely sure). They never cancel schools when there’s a fire over here unless the campus is on fire. Last year the mountain right next to campus was on fire and we still had class. And my school is in mountains. Literally one gust of wind and it would have been over. 😩

Outside of almost all of my JtHM works, there is the singular fic I made for the AHS fandom that I posted, that I know now (as a more seasoned writer) has a lot of issues, and even though I posted it when I was 14 or something, I still wince at my past self a little, I was in a really bad place. I still love AHS, I'm just not tuned in enough to the lore and shit to actually rewrite it without making a mess of myself. Eventually though!

I have quite a few under 5 kudos that span some years, but the one with only a single kudos (no accompanying bookmarks or comments) is for the Azure series I dropped after I realized oc/canon content really isn't liked in the JtHM fandom (unless it's Scriabin) so it only got two works, and one person liked both (thank you vampriejunkie).

I really liked the concept that Edgar has a guardian angel, that follows him through each death he has. It was supposed to be this whole thing where the angel, Azure, partners with him and he gets a happy ending and actually lives past 21-25. There are so many ideas I still have for the both of them, and I drew vv rad art of Azure a few times. But I won't be doing anything for JtHM unless specifically requested anymore, so I don't think Azure will be picked up again.

💎Why is writing important to you?

It's gotten me through years of emotional neglect and abuse, and it shows (most of which was posted to Wattpad, yes, I'm serious.) If you take a look at how I used to do things in fic (if you can find it) you can see almost exactly what I read in fandom, what I took from it, and how long I had that mentality for. I used to think a whole host of things were okay as long as it was happening to me (which resulted in many friends distancing and leaving, in turn unintentionally worsening the behaviour) because I was groomed by family and family friends into believing it was okay (I used to be heavily into Supernatural, take a wild guess on what I thought was okay without any consideration that it was my situation at the time that influenced my response to people telling me no, it wasn't.) and that shaped how I wrote.

It was my only outlet because being on US disability benefits ™ in one of the lowest ranking states when it comes to mental health is the worst. After years of therapists and social workers that were only with me for a few months at a time kept leaving, I turned to writing. I'm finally in a spot (while still not ideal) where I can actually engage with art and writing in a more balanced way, because learning how to not digitally self harm was extremely difficult to do by myself, but I did it, even if there are slip ups sometimes (which is normal, just like any negative coping mechanism/addiction recovery) and I still write very angsty things, but at least I know what I'm doing with the themes I want to present now, and I'll learn with the ones I don't.

Friend Carmen has read over a current Monster fic involving Wolfgang, that I'm not done with, but I'm extremely excited to see where it goes! I also have one in the works with Steiner and Dieter, that I'm almost done with, and should be posted eventually. I miss writing for Monster, but the little meow meows of the Revachol Citizens Militia have me by the neck rn, so those will be a while yet. I have so many Monster wips actually, maybe I'll pick one up and dust it off in the meantime to throw seeds at my friends (affectionate).

1) well, I guess I've changed, MASSIVE YEAH... All my friends were toxic bitches (u know those girls who choose you as their "best friend forever" and then you talk shit behind other people's backs) and it was frustrating, I haven't experienced a normal friendship then... And the opinion of this one "special girl " ment a lot for me. Once she said I'm ugly because I had acne (though I didn't have some really painful and big hormonal acne, they were.. just some pimples, like, we are teenagers lol..) and I really thought I am not attractive, I felt down, tho after I had just started doing some skincare routines... and thankfully not for her sake, but for myself. (Now i don't even talk with this girl, nor I see her...)

But now my irl friends and mates are just a present, really. I feel calmly around them, nobody judges me, there's no snakes and bitches anymore

2) Actually, I'm the only child, but I also have a big step sister.... she is 27 rn. We don't communicate often, she lives in the other city. She's my father's daughter, and she looks A LOT LIKE HIM, and I took after only the character (like, the biological side of this definition) and "brains". He was surprised I don’t have dark brown eyes and I'm not dark brunette as him, he really thought I must have his features because they are "dominant genes" 🙄 tho im not his first child + genetics doesn't work like this...

(And I'm in fact look a lot like my mom, grey eyes, same face lol)

3) my room is a mess. Always. I just like live in trash I guess. But I have a very cute pinboard where I hang drawings, schedule, reminders. All this shit. My room is boring, white. I'd lime to have vivid green (like snots) walls )))))))))

Have I got enough crop fields yet? Probably not lol. It is all food for the farmer who decided to live in my tower as a source of emeralds.

Which I can then use to level up the other friends who live in this little shack. Toolsmith, two weaponsmiths, armourer, and a leatherworker. Also I finally fixed the build, it looked a right mess bc I kept having to patch up holes and ofc I don't have silk touch yet so. Stone is a Pain rn. Also excuse the grass staircase, golems like spawning up on the roof and I have been too lazy to spawn-proof that yet lmao.

Behold! The world's slowest iron farm! bc if villagers are gonna keep spawning golems, I might as well farm them. I will need some more wandering traders to come by though, I have lost two leads into the lava so far rip.

Got the idea for this from when Cub instigated something similar at ConCorp to deal with excess golems, though his worked a lot better than mine lol.

I do think I will need a proper iron farm at some point when I feel brave enough to build one and switch the world to easy, but that's a job for later.

Also! Villager breeder! Made from memories of watching Stress build hers on-stream last year. It works! :D Just don't ask me how I'm getting the villagers OUT of the pit they're currently in. XD I decided that's a job for future me to deal with lmao. Still, feeling pretty good that it worked, bc it's the first one I've ever built. :D

Also I feel *slightly* bad for putting this under the barn, but it had the space I needed. I will have to decorate this properly later as well, it's not going to be this ugly forever. XD

Also this is what I built on top of the hill. I had thought about a lighthouse or tower or something, but I went with this instead. It's a temple for Hekate, based on the one I visit in meditation. It's not a traditional design for that reason, bc I wanted the one I know, not one I don't know. It sits on a cliff edge like this overlooking a large bay of water surrounded by forest. So it fits really nicely here.

I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do with this world, and what I want to build, and thinking about Scar's advice for themes that give you things to build. So if there's a Hekate temple here, and that's the vibe I'm going for, well, that gives me ideas for other infrastructure I want to build, and how to work with the block palette I've picked.

I kinda want to riff off what Cub did at ConCorp, and have like, specific buildings for specific villager jobs. So there'll be a library for librarians, market stalls, a proper blacksmith for the tool/weapon/armourers etc, that kind of thing. And I want them scattered around the land that I've cleared, I don't want them all packed in together. I want them to be free to wander and sleep and do their jobs, but still be safe inside their buildings.

And then I want to build a larger temple for Hekate in the centre of town, based off a Cathedral-like temple I've seen in meditation before, though it won't be a gigantic mega-build. It will probably be something I do much further down the track though.

Also! I have a zombie spawner I want to turn into an xp farm, and maybe it won't be the best one ever, it would still be nice to have a better source of xp than villager trading.

So yeah, I have like, ideas in mind for where this world is going to go. I want to make this a more long-term world, and slowly chip away at these projects as I work my way through the early game and get myself established. I'm really enjoying this world, and getting to know java minecraft better, since I spend so much time watching people play java. I'm always surprised at how much I've picked up just through osmosis. So yeah. Having a lot of fun with this world and I'm excited to sink more time into it and keep building it up. :D

Alternatively he lies to protect his dad - like he gets in trouble at school because someone makes a bad comment that relates to his dad (racist, possibly homophobic if they make inference about Buck being involved...) and lies about either his involvement or what it was really over. Or even if he's being bullied and doesn't want his dad to get upset like with Ana.

🥧 pie: let’s talk about food in your wip. are there any special recipes or traditional meals? do any of your OCs cook or bake?

very sad to say that i can't really cook myself and therefore it just like, doesn't come up often in my work. in an older, abandoned wip, i remember drawing up a short comic where the characters are making Grandmama's Kielbasa Recipe but there were no actual details or anything. a lot of the food that *does* come up in my writing is take-out or, like, eat-in or whatever. i've written about spaghetti pretty often because even i can manage to swing that and that's nothing to write home about.

the most stand-out food fact in wolf's tooth rn is that lovise can't cook for shit but loves to try anyway. this is i think the most food-heavy wolf's tooth is ever going to get, frankly:

Large serving dishes and entire pots are rolled out of the kitchen on a serving cart. When Santo leans past Brionna to set a salad bowl in the center of the table he jostles her head with his bicep; she snaps her teeth at him, and he laughs. A wide pot of vegetable stew finds its way between empty plates and glasses and silverware onto a worn potholder. Brionna is calculating how politely she can eat only Lovise’s passable stew when her father sets a tray of bread loaves beside the stew pot that smells so overwhelmingly of butter that every head turns to follow it, to inhale deeply and expel each other bitter scent. Santo had baked this, himself; he’s positively radiating with pride, having outdone Lovise and saved the meal. He had to have known that he would, bragging to Ronda while he’d made a mess of their kitchen. Fuck, but there are basil leaves crowning the crust. He’s earned one hell of a birthday present.

i think i ought to consider food more often because i think that little elements like this can add a lot to a character, it just doesn't really occur to me to try because i find cooking personally very frustrating

Red wraps Frank's hand up in his, squeezing the meat of it so firmly there isn't an ounce of space left. "I've never had any reason to be afraid of you." "No, you don't." Frank tries to sound tender and reassuring, and Red takes the opportunity to break the tension. "You can barely land a roundhouse." He teases. "Your footsteps are so heavy they can feel them down in the subway tunnels." A grin breaks out across Frank's face and he rounds the counter to pull Red (bearing his broken arm in mind) to himself. "Piece of shit." Red presses his cheek, more his ear, flush to Frank's chest, light smile on his own face while he slows and listens, lets his grip on Frank's hand loosen only for Frank's hold to tighten. He hums, and it radiates warmly between the two of them. "You might know me." Frank may not have Red's bat ears, but he finds that where Red's voice is soft it's heady with emotion. Tinged with bitterness, exhaled across Frank's heart. Crawling up his throat, settling sweetly at the back of his skull. Frank mirrors that feeling, winds his free hand up Red's shoulder to his throat and only stops when his fingers meet short hair at the back of his neck. "I know everything I need to know t'know that I--" He trips before the finish line; he can't make himself say it, feels like an ass for it. Like if he only tries hard enough he can give that to Red, like the way it sticks in his throat is a personal failing. Frank flattens his palm to the nape of Red's neck, half surprised that he doesn't tense or lean away, wait for the rest. That's the important part, right? The words, the surety of them. Red speaks again, the side of his mouth still moving over the thin shirt Frank wears so that it can be felt as well as heard. "Me too, Frank." "What?" "I love you, too, Frank." Red says it so easily. Just like that first time, when he pinned Frank for a sucker. 'I like my chances' , he'd said. Cocky son-of-a-bitch. He was right, though. Red's had Frank wrapped around his finger from the very start. Frank trails his hand up into Red's hair, cradling his skull in his hand. Red pushes back against it like a satisfied cat. Frank clears his throat, "'S'at what I was gonna say?" "I don't mean to dispute your ability to self-reflect," Red lowers their still-clasped hands to Frank's hip and then a bit farther, behind his back, "But I'm pretty sure you've been saying it for a while now." Overconfident, self-righteous, cocky motherfucker. Perceptive son-of-a-bitch; pain in the ass. Frank hides the surely embarrassing expression on his face in Red's hair, doesn't stop until his lips meet his own knuckles. What he asks next is muffled. "Yeah?" "Unless you were trying to keep it a secret," Red amends, "In which case, I've never noticed anything beyond the platonic. Professional, even." Frank's laughter, full-bodied, making his shoulders shake, is likewise muffled by soft, bright hair.

Nooooooot to take a bat's to a hornets nest or anything but the reason I can't take any of the talking points critiquing YA on here seriously is that the people doing the critiquing clearly just....know nothing about YA and are just running on assumptions and biases.

And it's personally annoying because they're is a lot to be said there but it's not going to be discussed or said when the people talking about it just haven't touched a YA book in their life.

Common misconceptions I see a lot:

1. YA = tiktok. And like...kinda? But a lot of what you're seeing is actually New Adult not YA. YA is aimed at ages 13 to 18 and New Adult is uh 18 to early 20s. A lot of the mess going on rn in traditional publishing is also that New Adult is recognized in self publishing but not traditional publishing so you end up with a mess of things that should be New Adult getting shoved into either YA or Adult. It's kinda a coin toss where it ends up.

2. YA doesn't/shouldn't have graphic content. Gore and violence is pretty standard in YA and has been since like, the 90s. Same with showing sexual content or addiction or abuse. Teens go through these things and plenty of YA books reflect this. There are also plenty of Adult books that don't showcase any of these things. There are also YA books with adult main characters and Adult books with teen/kid main characters. Then what's the difference between the two age groups? I'd argue themes are the biggest tell when it's not immediately obvious, or how it showcases and handles explicit material. I think you'll get various responses to this question though, because I think the line is and always has been, a lot blurrier then people think.

3. Not a point, but I feel like people on here forget middle grade is an age group which exists. Just because a lot of talking points I've seen lean more into middle grade than YA or even bring up middle grade titles as examples.

4. Uh adult fiction is fine? Yeah print sales are down but if you look at all the numbers (print, ebook, audio) it's fine? And while it may be down overall from last year specifically the 2020s have so far had significantly better sale rates then the mid to late 2010s. I'll reblog later when it is not 6am and I have finally gone to bed with the publisher weekly articles but yeah. It's fine, I promise. Also YA book sales are down from last year overall too. This is a trend across all age groups and genres this year. Probably because the pandemic era is over and everyone got really into reading when it hit because of it. People once more don't have time. There's likely other reasons for it but it's not surprising. Final point on this, adult fiction makes up 46% of ebook sales this year. That means ebook sales are larger than YA which isn't surprising? I always assume adults prefer digital over physical due to space and whatnot.

I could go on but I'll leave it here because I really need to sleep. My final point is also this: teens read, and is it really so surprising in spaces where teens exist you'll see books aimed at them showcased a lot more?

i'm kinda busy with family until christmas is over so i'm being held back from being fully insane and really writing out anything super long until then. but i Am currently rewatching s3 casually when i have a bit of free time so i'm occasionally thinking Thoughts about that rn

but in general general, okay listen, the Wheeler Creel thing is messing me up so much too (if you couldn't tell by the super long post lmao). something is so so wrong with both of these families and it's really fun to look at them, both individually, and also just the weird parallels they have going - probably the thing i have most fun doing here currently, permanent tenant in my brain is accurate yeah

i tend to usually be really open to theories, like having multiple theories for one situation, not settling on one definite thing, considering theories that contradict each other etc. so i like looking at theories objectively without being super invested into wanting them to be true, which was why i even considered the Karen/Alice theory in the first place. i was curious and wanted to know what it was about and thought it was a crack theory. i was NOT prepared for there to be any room to potentially consider it a possibility help

i actually have a massive word document about it in the writing stage that's a full summary of the theory, with the cons against it, the pros supporting it, and narrative themes. the big Alice post is essentially a small chapter of it just focusing on Alice Creel. but then there's also parts about just Karen, the Wheelers, the Creels, parallels, weird things in the show and odd dialogue that coincides with it, and then the big "why do people think those two characters could be the same person" thing. + ofc also what could contradict it or what usually drives people off the theory since i like neutrally considering theories from all angles - really a general overview of why the theory could have some merit, and that doc is Long which really says something about how wild the theory is tbh

or maybe s5 will not take the literal approach of making the families have an actual relation and will parallel the Wheelers and Creels for thematic purposes only. which is a possibility that i also briefly go into in the doc

there's just so much to consider. i really hope to get around to actually finishing that giant write up of the theory, just to have a collective place where the full theory is laid out and listed. because i've really only seen people talk about individual aspects of it before in posts. I'll hopefully have some time for that again after christmas, but i'm sure i'll post more small individual segments of it before i finish the whole thing at some point because i have no idea when i'll actually get around to that

all in all, the Wheelers and Creels are probably the thing i'm most interested in right now. i don't personally have an investment in wanting Alice and Karen to be the same person (even though there are some weird nudges made to it that could support it, that are, eyebrow raising to say the least) but just the general relationship and Weird parallels in the story are 🤌 to me

okay and aside from the incoherent insane tangent i went on right here, i was prompted and had thought vomit my bad, i'm also SO invested in the general structure of s5. especially mechanics like the time jump and how they could set that up/work with it, without having to essentially start over and catch up with the characters AGAIN two episodes in (when the time jump should happen) are so interesting to me. they'll really have to come up with something to justify that time skip and i love all theories surrounding it tbh. we could get another short confrontation with Henry pre time skip, we could also just get an apocalyptic Hawkins and it takes years before everyone gears up for a final confrontation, there's kidnapping or hostage theories too which are cool and i also made a post about before. and then a bunch more i've seen float around here. i think i'm just in general looking forward to seeing how they'll incorporate the timeskip!

of course the consequences of the gates opening are hhhh too. the Duffers talking about how s5 will be "post apocalyptic" is making me bite and chew and bite and. it's such a cool concept for them to explore and since we know so little of what the gates opening actually entails the possibilities to speculate and theorize are endless in that regard as of now

oh! and Will and his role in the story also have their own room in my brain. theories about what his powers could actually be make me go insane tbh (the powers thing itself is also wild to talk about with the massive foreshadowing there is and us Still not knowing how most powers actually work or even what happened to Will in the UD in 1983). there's just so many options with what directions they could take him in and all of them would drastically change and impact the story. just! yeah i need to talk about that more honestly!
