A little while ago you said that you have nuanced feelings on Clem x Louis, and I think that’s how I’d describe my opinion on the ship as well. I was just wondering, what makes you feel that way? Personally, I think they’re romance scenes are cute and sweet, but the whole situation with Marlon makes me unable to see them as anything other than friends. I think they both mean a lot to each other, but the idea that they’d want to date so soon after that whole ordeal’s a bit of a stretch to me.

the stuff with marlon and the vote is Definitely the biggest thing that influences my opinion about their romance. i always forget just how Cruel he is in EP2 😭 like im on your side dude what aj did was wrong can we just talk about this 😭 but he votes to kick them out. like his reaction about marlon doesnt bother me, its his insistence on kicking them out that does 😔 my clem will always forgive him for it, i believe him when he says he regrets it, but its gonna take some time for trust to build again. for both of them

having only one scene between his apology and the lock in was just not gonna happen for my clem. she was mad at him for it. aj almost died because of it. she might be doing better now but she still has trust issues and her trust was broken just as much as his was. he was fine with never seeing her again, sending her and aj out to their deaths because he struggled to accept his confused feelings about marlon. that pissed my clem off shdfksd she is barely keeping this child alive let alone herself. her face when ajs kicking the wall bro she was like "its so fucking over" 😭 cmon bro look at her shes dead inside have some compassion. and he still hits her with the "i dont know [if i want you to stay]" even after aj gets shot like cmon man...... Cmon.........

and while shes waiting for louis to finally be ready to talk about what happened with marlon (which my clem apologizes for in the dorm, she does genuinely feel bad about it), her and violet are only growing closer, focusing on preparing the school together for the bigger problem. clem knowing vi has her back is a huge source of relief in everything thats going on, and that means a Lot for my clem, who appreciates the idea of having a partner she can rely on. my clem is already sure of her feelings for vi by the time louis apologizes. but she appreciates his apology, and is looking forward to being friends again, because she did genuinely appreciate his friendship at the beginning. but her heart was really truly Broken about everything with marlon and the vote and i think thats gonna take more time to heal. depending on player choice some clems might not even forgive him (some others might say he was right and that clem didnt stop it but... i do not agree with that.. like how could she have... aasim calls mitch a hypocrite for saying the same thing)

the other less important thing is just his general blasé attitude. my clem takes things seriously, but that doesnt mean she doesnt know how to have fun. she Wants to. she just Cant. she has a child to take care of first, and she cares about the survival of the group. its why my clem is looking for someone she knows she can rely on. she never wanted any of this, and she just wants a little support, someone to help take the weight off so she CAN relax. shes so tired 😭. playing with louis while aasim hunts by himself made me feel Dirty 💀 (i literally couldnt do it the first time i felt so bad AASIM WAIT UP). and while i can understand and appreciate his "there might not be a tomorrow so enjoy today" outlook, it cant come at the expense of the group. louis i feel eventually learns this, finding a balance between the two, and Becomes someone clem can rely on. but his change doesnt begin until like.. after the raiders take everyone (because we have to get through the marlon stuff first). and if you save vi, you dont get to see any of it 😔

the thing about these two problems is that, if you were to take them out of this setting and throw them in like, a modern au, suddenly these are not issues anymore. no more life or death. the stakes are a lot lower. so i can see them dating in that scenario and having fun together. they do have cute moments!! but also due to less stakes, theres less to motivate louis to change. and i think they would fundamentally just not click on their worldviews. clem while she can have fun, ultimately takes things seriously, and louis doesnt. that doesnt mean they dont care about each other, and clem definitely appreciates his energy, but its why i see them still ending up as friends instead of romantic partners (esp if vi is around IM SORRY 😭 they just Click too well for me 😔 this is why my messy au exists 💀)

i also understand this is mostly personal preference and some people might like them for these reasons 😭 but the dynamic that they have i prefer as friends personally. theyre supportive of each other and deeply care about each other, just not romantically imo. especially not after the stuff with marlon. and thats ok!!!! i see it a lot like louis' relationship with vi. not romantic. but they Love each other regardless. honestly the reason why i like clem vi and louis as a trio so much is that clem slots between them really well. louis who doesnt take anything seriously, and vi who takes things Too seriously. clem exists between them. knowing having fun is important but also understanding the weight of responsibility. she helps louis become more responsible, and she helps vi chill the fuck out. she brings balance :)

WAIT OMG! we never actually hear show louis tell lestat that he loves him?? i know i probably sound stupid but i don’t think that’s something i’ve ever truly picked up on until now. i was rewatching some loustat scenes and got extra sad over lestat constantly feeling like he’s rejected and not loved, then it dawned on me that i don’t think louis said it or even showed it?? do you think that type of declaration will happen in future seasons?

…. okay this is a bit of a wasp‘s nest, so... fair warning^^.

Quite a while ago the IWTV writer's room (yes they are, or at least were active on Twitter) answered some questions.

One of them was this:

This... produced quite the backlash and made some huge waves around the fandom.

The thing is, Louis withholding and using that withholding (something the writers called "weaponization of language" here is canon behavior in the books, and something Louis in later books apologizes for.

Of course it is all a bit more difficult than the simplified (tweet)answer here. There is for example the added complexity of Louis losing Paul right after saying these words (something that, given this canon behavior does soften (for lack of a better word) said behavior, and as such was very much done on purpose, imho).

In the clip from the "Murder Mansion" we have already seen Armand commenting on the "withholding" as well, so I fully expect the show (aka the writers here) to keep this canon characterization, as they are obviously building on it.

It is something I also touched on the "intimacy post" a while back. Because for Louis and Lestat, in their good times, when they had sex regularly and bit each other during sex... Louis' inability to say the words probably meant next to nothing. Lestat would have been able to read it in the blood.

Only later, when the eating disorder set that fatal downwards spiral off (again, it bears repeating, this is not assigning blame, but it is an important aspect that started with the choice to not eat human anymore) the lack of the said words started to actually weigh on them.

So yes, eventually, the lack of the words was probably very much grating.

And for Louis it might have actually made it impossible to speak them.

Because, from experience^^, when you mean something it can be very, very hard to say that thing, especially if you know you maybe should have said the words earlier, but didn't - for valid reasons - but now... now they just seem unable to pass your tongue.

I think that is something that happened to Louis there. And Lestat probably didn't really feel rejected at first, but more frustrated, then estranged somewhat, mixed with concern, and then anger, and then and then and then... because he loves Louis.

And Louis loves Lestat.

Very much. Too much, maybe. Too much, maybe, for these words.

(Which is also why he and Lestat were both able to so easily say them during murder night, because then... then they were not meant.)

In the books he eventually does put it into words.

… I love you with my whole soul, and I will always love you, [..] you are my life. I have hated you for that and love you now so much that you’ve been my instructor in loving.

So i have reread dolcezza again and i just want to ask (if it’s not too much of a bother) for a little uhh check up (??) is that what’s it called? with them like how is principessa doing and how is her harry doing and all that stuff. 😅

I like the idea of checkup! But it's whatever we want to call them! They’re also on my next round of voting :( Unfortunately their fate is kind of pre-decided and it won't really be a check-in that I have planned for them.

I imagine they’re currently snuggled in Harry’s bed on his day off. His arms caged around her. He doesn’t want to get out of bed even though he could hear (and feel) her stomach growl. She’s got three texts from Emma, two from James and one each from Ethan and her mom. Ethan’s message is just telling her how much he loves her and it’s not too late to leave Harry and he's known her longer. (One of James is warning her that Ethan was the love drunk version of himself the night before and she should just delete his message). The other is he needs money because he had to pay for his car that got towed when he parked illegally 🙃 Emma sent one long message about how mom is the worst and her mom’s was a complaint about how frustrated she is by Emma and misses her dearly. But for now she chooses to ignore them. That is a huge deal for her and it's something she'll deal with later but not right now. That is the important part--the part that makes Harry so proud of her.

Harry is cooking for her, no shirt, still partially asleep. He's barefoot and she's just sitting at the kitchen counter looking at him. Almost as if she's studying him. "Something the matter, Principessa?" And the answer is no because what could be the matter? Harry's the best thing that ever happened to her and she is so utterly in love, so safe, and just feels so warm in his house.

"Just love you," she shrugs.

He smiles at the eggs he's frying and she swore he was blushing a little. "I love you too, kitten," he answered.

She could say more. Tell him about how she's stressed about a few things with work and her family. That she misses Eleanor and Louis. She wants to go visit them but feels burdened by the people around her needing her.

But instead she revels in the feeling of her pretty boyfriend making her breakfast and the way he smiles and hums while he cooks leisurely. "I think everyone should date someone who knows how to cook," she sighed dreamily as he settled the plate in front of her.

He chuckled, turning to grab his own plate. "Y'know how t'cook yourself, love," he reminded her.

"Yeah, but it's better the way you do it. Like most things."

"Most things?"

"You're really good at putting up with me."

"S'not that hard." he rolled his eyes. "S'not 'putting up with you' either."

He bit into his toast. "All the same," she shrugged and smiled.

The song has ended and we are all saying our goodbyes to the fans. When walking off the stage you can feel Louis staring at you. Intensely. You're so worked up and Louis isn't helping one bit. How has it been, touring from four-five guys to by yourself? 


Louis: It’s been amazing. I think this is the best year I’ve had as a solo artist, really really enjoyed. I mean, the process is obviously different from touring with the band versus touring on my own, but also I’m a bit older now, so it’s a bit more different. But yeah, I can’t complain, that’s been absolutely amazing. Eh, you’re gonna come down to any shows? 


Annalise: Would love to come down to any shows! I’m planning to getting tickets to the Tuesday show, because I wanted to get it, like pre-Covid, but then all that happened, and obviously you said it, you schedule and had to cancel—


Louis: Yeah…


Annalise: What was that like? 


Louis: Well… [frustrated sigh] It was a bit strict in a way, because I wanted to carry on doing the rest of the shows, obviously, but stopped me from… because for years, I’ve been wondering what tour might feel like, even tho this has met my expectations even from when we started, before Covid, it just gave me a taste and a bare understanding of what I was going in to and stopped kinda got me worried, so, anxiety.


Annalise: Like, now you’re in this area, where you’re able to do it all again, I know you’re by yourself, like, touring by yourself, I have to say, are there any more perks in comparison to when you were touring with the boys? Like, bigger dressing room now?


Louis: Oh I do, you’re right, I do, I do! Before, when I was in the band, the biggest hotel room used to be shared around, do you know what I mean? 


Annalise: REALLY? So now you get the best hotel room every single time?

Annalise: Even dressing room, speaking off, do you have anything that you have to have? In there before a show, or an specific lolly? 


Louis: I’m really saving my rider to be fair, there’s some really random, random stuff in there, that sits in the dressing room and I’ll never eat. Random, yeah, I should probably, think about it.

Louis: Hm… I think, writing for One Direction was very different, it was very, it wasn’t that it was super specific, because was me as part of the band, was kinda easier, kinda like this bedside view of every song without really… Cuz, cuz the thing is, about being a solo artist, you have to overthinking every lyric, every melody, everything, whereas, of course, you’re conscious of that in the band but is just a certain different feeling.


Annalise: Have you ever got to that last stage, with Walls [album], and thought ’No, that has to change, guys. It doesn’t work’? 


Louis: That’s, that’s difficult one as well, there’s also something to be said about what’s been written in the room, on the day, and, there’s sometimes a bit of magic in the room and just… And that’s another thing, it’s very easy to be over with the words you’ve chosen, but actually, there’s something said about just kinda owning with what you did in the room that day. 


Annalise: I love that, I love that, that’s amazing! And so, I’ve heard rumours that you got some new music coming up and have you got anything we can look forward to? Have you got a little clip, can you give us any hints on what to expect on the next set of music you’ll drop?


Louis: Hm…. I think, I’m definitely a lot more confident as an artist, as a songwriter, a lot more confident about the second record than I was the first. In terms of like any hints, I’ve kinda just, I’ve kinda just… Instead of thinking about too many other’s opinions, I kinda just tried to follow my heart in this record and make something that’s gonna stand up to the live show. 


Annalise: Love that, that’s really beautiful, and like, get a real crowd feel when you’re up and about?


Louis: Yeah, I’m so blessed to have such amazing energy at my shows, it’s just about giving the fans an album double stand in that idea.


Annalise: Speaking about your crowd, I’m sure you’ve seen some amazing things at your shows through the years with One Direction and your time as your own on your World Tour, what’s some of the wildest stuff you’ve seen happen while at a show?


Louis: The fans often do, they have their own little projects, that they do, and I think that they share on social media, and they organise these little things like holding the signs, during the concert with the lights, all of that is really impressive. Take some level of organisation, that shit!


Annalise: The whole organisation thing, I used to have a One Direction instagram account called ‘fivecrazymonkeys’ and so, the whole time, do you remember No Control just had massive boost in like, I just remember seeing it all over [insta] gram, ‘Lets get No Control to number one’, I was a part of that, I was a part of that era, the energy that the fans have and the dedication they put into it, is just insane, and I just loved it so much, I can only imagine how you feel.


Louis: Funny you mention that, about No Control, that was, that was something very pointing for me in One Direction. Obviously that was maybe first song the I sung the chorus on?


Annalise: yeah!


Louis: I lead on the song and that was a big moment for me, I really, really, really felt the support from the fans, and to say you were a part of it, thank you. 


Annalise: Oh, no, thank you, it was really nice that we got to see your voice come and shine through, and now having that moment where you’re there, having your own hot solo album, you’re doing your own tours, you’re able to express your own creativity within that is really freaking amazing. Like, very, very, very, well done, so congratulations!

Annalise: On side note, yeah, I, need to actually ask you, during my vlogs that I mentioned a little bit earlier, I was talking to a room of absolutely nothing and no one was replying, I did had a few questions and I was wondering if you might go through some of the questions my 13 year old self had for you.

also! where is the doc promo! or tour promo! where is the exclusive with first look photos and interview with day of tickets coming out? where are the ticket specials in the cities where tour needs to be sold more (buy a tour ticket get a free movie ticket)? where are the merch bundles (buy a shirt get a movie ticket voucher)? or just merch in general? where are the radio spots and the billboards and the bus stop ads and the commercials and the social media? radio interviews in tour cities? they wouldn't do a press junket yet but! and if no one brought those up why isn't louis or his manager saying something and asking for those plans and those rollouts? and if they aren't getting those or know what to ask for why aren't they hiring people to figure out what's not working and make it happen?

you don't have to come out, you don't have to reveal your relationship, you don't have to even elude to anything. but you do deserve better treatment, better promo, a better image. privacy, kindness, fans, general population respect. what might have been the way people did it in 2013 isn't the same as 2023. but all of louis' rollouts are stuck there. once upon a time for an artist, the worst thing you could be was gay. and even if that's not the case anymore, if that's still where your head is okay. you don't have to come out. but you don't deserve to be doing this shit or putting yourself through this either.

yes, it’s beyond frustrating that Louis is seen as an extension of Harry, and more so because of Larry. It has hindered his career as a solo artist, and he’s never really been able to move away from it. he never will, though. However, he was doing a great job of it during LATAM. sad to see it go to waste.

Harry is the biggest popstar on the planet and if ANYONE mentions him, they get some kind of traction. Whether it be a potential fling/gf, or a past band member, or someone who’s interviewed him or bloody deuxmoi. No matter who it is, their ratings boost and media searches go up and he’s used, yet again, for his fame. But louis’ LATAM promo rounds were going great. He didn’t mention Harry the whole time, and was asked specifically about his music. In fact, we got that interviewer who was gonna ask about F, but it was shut down. So, why was that particular topic shut down, but then Harry is brought up and then the interview is released just as Louis leaves LATAM? Why, out of all the personal questions he could’ve been asked (bc GP and interviewers looooove having the goss on celebs personal lives and surely they’re curious about a gf) was larry brought up?

For the exact reason you stated, anon. He used Larry, and Harry, for promo. That question was planned, and he danced around it, and still couldn’t give a satisfying denial, BUT it was a cheap shot at a bit of press to finish off his promo tour. His team thought bringing back larry briefly would stir some more promo outside of the fandom too, and link their names in the media. He’s done denials before, right? What’s another one to the list?

This one, though, is very poorly timed, even though they thought it would be timed well.

There has been 0 mention of Harry and Louis tied together outside of the larries and general fandom of the two. There are no recent news articles about Larry, regardless of how much we talk about it, they haven’t followed each other on Insta, there has been 0 major developments that would get people talking about them again. So I understand that Louis is often seen as an extension of Harry and Larry, but… they haven’t been connected in the media for ages. There is no reason for a denial. So that has to make you question the timing. There was no urgency or relevancy to it.

Louis lifted the blacklist, did a denial, fucked off out of LATAM after a very otherwise wholesome and music focused promo tour, and his team hoped for organic media to link their names together for some extra clicks to keep his name in the press until he comes back to tour.

I say organic press, because it simply would’ve been far too obvious to plan press around this. Pre written articles from the Sun and Daily Mail wouldn’t have done anything. They wanted this to drive more than just those publications to write about it. They wanted it to seem organic.

But you know what is absolutely fucking hilarious?

There has been a total of 1 article released about this shit. Apart from Pop Buzz tweeting about it, 1 actual news article has been posted online that comes up when you search either of their names. And it’s not from a massive publication, either. So they screwed the pooch on that one.

So, it didn’t work to use his connection to Harry as promo. It just caused a fandom stir, alienated larries yet again, and made us roll our eyes. It was embarrassing. He chose to do this question and release it, it was pre recorded, after all. edit it out if you want this promo to be just about your music. Don’t use Larry, and Harry, for a cheap shot at some promo that you know won’t work.

okay so i'm gonna go with unpopular opinions in the fandom:

- it really truly bothers me to see so many people just being in the fandom for the big coming out moment because like i'm sorry but that's stereotypical. also, a few years ago i realised that harry and louis aren't keeping their sexualities and relationship a secret but rather they're keeping it private. i think being in the spotlight for over a decade and navigating both a band career and solo career in just a span of a decade has given them a lot of insight on how to make their relationship work while also pursuing their careers. so we might never get a coming out moment and that's okay because it's their choice not ours

- another thing that frustrates me is how everytime something harry related happens, people immediately bring louis into it or make it about larry and vice versa. like don't get me wrong i love the memes and i will continue to make memes too but like. not everything they do in their solo careers and lives is gonna be about their partner or their relationship

- ooh this is a hot one but i fucking hate whenever louis has a bit of a break between his shows or whatever, people automatically start talking about him travelling to go see harry who is also touring on the other side of the world. like the mindset that louis will have three days between his own world tour and instead of relaxing and enjoying the break he will immediately fly to harry is just not it. especially when people don't say the same about harry. like i've never heard anyone being like "oh harry has 3 days off between his european tour, maybe he'll fly to go see louis in america" and it's just. louis isn't harry's trophy wife who would drop everything at the chance to go see harry calm down

For a long time, I did have it in my headcanons that The Dancer was just a close platonic friend of theirs (someone for Daniel to relate to and another person for Armand to learn from) but then I made a joke in a chat about The Dancer being one of their threesome buddies and it just felt right. So I retract my previous statement and based on my smuttysunday post I think they did quite a bit together. 🤧

Because I've been thinking about it a lot since too: Amadeo had Bianca (and Riccardo in a different way) to confide in and keep him busy when Marius couldn't be around, who did Daniel have? Who was his Bianca and Riccardo? Because it's a lonely life loving someone who can only be accessible within such specific constraints!

hi! as a baby larrie im struggling a bit with what to believe w/o looking like a theorist (hate that word and i don't mean to offend at all i swear!) but like people around harry and interviews keep saying he's so authentic and is exactly what he shows and we believe that. but what he also shows is olivia attached to him 24/7 and sometimes a distance/disconnection with fans. so he's authentic except for that? same with Louis/F/eleanor and his honesty. i'm confused how do you guys distinguish?

Hi sugar. I think what you’re confusing is Harry’s authentic behavior and what Harry has to do for work. He’s with Olivia often, but does he look happy with her? Does he talk about her like he’s in love with her? Does he refer to her when talking about his music? No. She’s a beard. And he tries to be as authentic as possible and avoid lying as much as possible, but it’s a really tall order when you’re closeted and in the public eye.

I disagree on people’s perception that he’s distanced/disconnected. At least, in so far as to say he’s doing it because he doesn’t care. I think Harry is removed from social media for his own mental health. And I think a large percentage of his fans are extremely entitled. Yes, his team has done stuff that his fandom doesn’t like. And it’s annoying and frustrating and I wish some things were different. And at the same time, I think Harry is genuinely grateful for his fans. Personally, I just choose not to get angry about certain things.

I don’t see anything about Harry or Louis being bearded, or Louis having to deal with babygate, as a reflection on their authenticity. No celebrity is going to give the world 100% of themselves. But these quotes we hear from people who know them or meet them, who say “oh, they’re so kind and down to earth, they’re genuine and shy etc etc” have been consistent for the last 12 years. If there was shit to tell, believe me, it would be told.

It's so embarrassing to me that people on twitter are begging louis and harry to post something. I do understand being frustrated that they aren't using a platform they have, but when will we realise that these people only care about themselves??

What are you talking about? Is this about Palestine? Context ppl, context!

If so I don’t think posting something online is the most effective thing they can do, I think it’s going to a protest/demo, engaging with BDS and finding ways to show solidarity.

I also don’t think it’s helpful to think that celebs should talk about stuff just because they have a platform, because I think most of the time their politics are terrible and unhelpful.

However that aside, Harry has shown some zionistic tendencies in the past and I don’t think there’s any reason to expect that to have changed. Louis hadn’t really done anything either way, and then he got that anarchy tattoo which I think means it’s more than fair to be critical of him on this. So if fans are voicing their feelings about their politics I don’t have much to say about it other than I think it’s valid to be critical.

But also like if you find other fans on the internet embarrassing then maybe it would help to engage less with those people? I think there’s a bit of contradiction in you being embarrassed/frustrated by fans for behaving this way, and coming to my (and I suspect others’) inbox to complain about it, when fans are doing so online presumably out of frustration with Harry/Louis.

I’ve seen some people acting like we won’t see even a kiss between Louis and lestat for all of season 2 and even season 3! That’s just crazy to me hahaha

I like your suggestion of their modern day potential reunion being a catalyst for something like that. I mean, I personally would be a little frustrated if they changed the nature of their present day reunion like they had pre-concert TVL where they just wordlessly embraced each other and were generally affectionate (right?). Although I suppose it depends on what the timeline situation is like. They might make it angstier but I can’t see them both just not sharing a kiss after seeing each other after so long apart.

Next season might be feature the bulk of Louis and Armand’s love story…but there’s also devils minion which we are pretty confident we will see, so it’s not like the show is shifting completely to revolve around a different love story, there will be plenty, and loustat is the core so I also don’t see them passing up the opportunity to have nothing physically affectionate between them when we will likely have quite a bit of flashbacks, hallucinating, dreams, beefed up Paris storyline where they’ll interact in the flesh.

Do you think we won’t see anything ‘consummated’ up until the end of the season and there will just be a lot of erotic, teasing, slow burn perhaps throughout season 2?

Well, given by the recent casting calls, there will be a lot of consummation happening *coughs*

As said before, they have to find some way to segue into season 3.

There's several ways to do that, obviously, but I... just cannot see them waste the impact of Claudia's diaries. Or I hope that impact won't be wasted, because they did have a huge effect. They might choose to do the whole raising ghost thing differently (or omit it even), but... these diaries... meant something to Louis.

And since they are pulling everything in the books up from supposed subtext I cannot see them not sharing anything for the next seasons... they have to bring Lestat in somehow, and... a conscious one at that. If they are to continue the interview format somehow. Who knows, maybe they will indeed use another format for Lestat to tell his story (maybe he did in the 80s as a rockstar and Daniel has forgotten? Maybe there are VHS tapes there? And Louis and Armand and whoever else they have there will fill out the gaps?)

But they said that Loustat will be something like the basis for the show, and they cast friggin' Jam Reiderson... they will not hesitate to put that chemistry on screen if they can.

All that said, I very, very much look forward to who else they will introduce. We know they want to add one more "big" vampire (I say big because several were hinted at already - the interior designer i.e. and then there's Fareed, and Armand is on the phone with someone, and I stand by the assessment that he wouldn't have Marius' painting hung on the wall if there weren't some kind of reconciliation) - and that big vampire might have their own views for the story.

I can easily see Gabrielle there, btw. She would be an interesting link to the past and present, as well as a necessary set up for the QotD line. And she could fill out the gaps in regards to Lestat that Armand and Louis can not.

So yeah. I'm betting we get Loustat content next season, though it may be heartbreaking, and I could easily see the next vampire introduced being Gabrielle.

We'll see :)

harry & louis have clearly broken up and it's time to accept that, my guess is 2014, early 2015 & they kept the larry shit up until 2016 (the coded messages or whatever) to keep us from being disappointed by it but now it's time to just let it go, they clearly don't want us in fandom and have made that clear time and time again, and it's not good or healthy for lgbtq+ people to stan people who clearly dislike them (both have shown signs they dislike larries, harry recently with his actions ie. taking known larrie things and using them in different contexts like giving his blue bandana to his friend, saying songs we associate with larry is about gemma, etc. and louis with another denial, it's obvious they've been showing contempt for us), it's healthy for all of us lgbtq+ people to just let them go and find other celebrities to focus on, it's torture to stan someone closeted when you're lgbtq+, it's not good for our mental health, even you are stressed and struggling with it so larries need to stop encouraging people to become part of us and just leave for our own good and the good of our mental wellbeing, harry and louis are evil villain gays and have made their beds, now they need to lie in them, we supported them, we created a safe space (despite interviewers and media and others claiming it was harry lol no honey that was all us), we made (most) of the fandom lgbtq+ friendly (you can hear that by the cheers and screams harry gets when he says "we're all a little bit gay" and does gay shit on stage etc) yet they still haven't or won't come out despite all we have done to prove it's safe and welcome for them to do so, whatever we have done is not enough and it never will be so we need to put ourselves first and stop investing our time, energy and money into them.

That’s one way of explaining things for yourself but I’m not sure if it’s the only way or the best way.

There’s definitely been references to a relationship between Louis and Harry since 2016 and in the years after that I actually did have the impression the support was much wanted. There has since been a shift, for sure, but it’s really up to every individual LGBTQ person in this fandom to decide how they want to deal with that.

To be honest, I’ve been receiving anons trying to stop me from “queerbaiting LGBTQ fans into a hostile environment” since long before 2016. But that was and still is a complete misunderstanding of the situation (and of what queer baiting is for that matter). No one lured in the LGBTQ fans. They were already here.

And the safe space that we’ve created, together with Harry, and with Louis - because I think their seemingly positive reactions certainly helped - that’s something I believe we did for those LGBTQ fans first and foremost. It was a positive and constructive outlet for all the frustrations which made the space safer for us.

And yes, we did “our part”, we did so much. If they haven’t come out it doesn’t mean we didn’t do enough. That’s not how coming out works, at all. Creating a safe space doesn’t create any obligation for any queer person to anything.

“Every queer person has the right to come out on their own terms and on their own timeline. They also have the right to choose not to come out at all.”

I repeat: if they haven’t come out,it doesn’t mean we didn’t do enough.

We know that we did, we know we did the right thing, and we know we did all we could.

If the “results” are disappointing compared to the expectations that may have (inadvertently) been created then that is sad, but I don’t believe it deserves anger.

What is more, i really think what we did made a big difference, for so many people in the fandom and, I believe, also for them. Harry picks up flags night after night. Louis’ shows has rainbow lights.

I honestly think that the rainbows in the fandom gave them a means to express themselves in a way that feels comfortable to them without having to say the words and if that is the case then I really think that is valuable.

But again - it was never just about them - it was always for queer fans first and foremost and those queer fans have become so much more visible and so much more comfortable in this fandom. And I think that is really valuable too.

Also I don’t agree that rainbows mean “it’s safe to come out”. It is safer. It never is completely safe. That’s societal homophobia for you. People have many reasons not to come out.

So I think every LGBTQ person in this fandom should make an assessment for themselves: does being here make me happy or not .

If it doesn’t, then by all means, draw your line in the sand.
