Could i get a sneak peak of post catastrofiend?

Post catastrofiend is Sidestep days, Riley visiting Ortega in the hospital after the fight. I started this in Ortega POV but I think I want to switch it to Riley POV because i had a new idea for it that works better from her perspective, but I'll give you some of the old stuff because I haven't started actually reworking yet LOL.

"You're awake…" Riley's soft voice is filled with disbelief as she comes into focus. Silver gaze shimmering with unshed tears. 

You're surprised she even came to the hospital herself, you couldn't get her to touch one with a thirty-foot pole when she got injured. You open your mouth to reply, to reassure, but your parched throat turns it into a cough. She's quick, water in hand, tipped carefully to your lips. You take a few slow sips before she lowers it again.  

You give her a crooked grin. At least you hope it is, and not a grimace. Clear your throat. "I told you it would be okay."

"You're such an idiot…" Voice rough, wet, she swipes a sleeve across her face. "Two inches to the right and it would have gotten your generator."

Closer than comfortable, but you won't let yourself be rattled by what ifs or you'd never get out of bed in the morning. "Good thing I lead a charmed life, then."

She lets out a frustrated noise from deep in her chest and then she's on the move again, pacing, fingers picking at each other, worrying her nails, not looking at you in the hospital bed. 

"You don't get it."

i started a new job a few months ago, and I'm learning a lot lately about grassroots organizing strategies for developing communities of practice (which is more fun/interesting than it might sound ahaha)

sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?

i spent way too long deciding between music and poetry but I'll say poetry since a large part of the music draw is the lyrics themselves. other than for the obvious reason (i.e., i'm a slut for pretty words), something about the economy of language and emotion-forward nature of poetry just punches me square in the heart when it's excellent.

papyrus ⇢ if you put your ‘on repeat’ playlist on shuffle, what’s the first song that comes up? what do you like about it / associate it with?

"warm blood," flor. this song is just SO dreamy and lovely. it's the kind of song that sounds like it was made specifically for, like, a backlit, emotionally-heightened this-means-something first kiss movie scene. also I'm obsessed with this line in the chorus: "you're whispers and sunlight/cold hands feeling for mine"

okay for the oc dating game, Serena is tall and full figured with long dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. She cusses too much and deflects with humor whenever possible. She likes to play the cynic and gets nervous about romance and affection easily but that's mostly because she has an intensely romantic side. She's been burned before and is very guarded with her heart. Has been known to ghost people before when she's started to catch feelings, so needs someone patient and reassuring, but if someone can get around her walls she's very soft and devoted and also fun.

I am completely indecisive and I can think at least four ocs that might work with your Serena @amlovelies, but I'll go with two.

One is my Speaker MC, Enriqueta "Riquie" Villemont (she/her). The too much cussing might be a BIT of a put off, but I can also see her letting it roll off her shoulders -- she's not unused to with prickles for armor (and I am sure she's gotten re-acquiantened with foul mouths with Li). Riquie loves a good joke (and a bad one .... and an inapportune one) and her standard default is teasing. She is a big, huge flirt. So I think she would let Serena play her deflection games with the jokes and meet her head for head, she'd be able to keep it light and breezy. I feel Riquie would be straight forward with her intentions, should feelings happen but not with the pressure. She wouldn't tolerate ghosting but she's actually really astute and genial; so while she’d be clear to be like ‘I’m not a fan’, she’d be open to taking Serena as she comes as long as she is AROUND and respects her own boundaries. 

A little bit about Riquie, she is tall af and while not exactly thicker than a snicker, she’s far from a kitkat bar (lol, idek). She is soft, slightly jiggly, and gently curvy -- yet powerful? Because she has some self-defense skills and practices that. She has dark green eyes and long, coily dark brown hair that she typically dyes purple. She is my kind-hearted, chatty, loves the artsy stuff, fiercely loyal bb. 

The second is my OC Ariel Centofanti (ze/hir, he/him). There is nothing that Serena can throw at him that ze has not seen or experienced from life, particularly their best friend: Isaako. She wants to play the cynic? Sorry, ze’s known that game since he was before he was ten watching his biffle use it to keep people away. Want to ghost him? If ze can tolerate it from hir deadbeat dad, than ze can tolerate it from someone they care about, right? 

While there IS a limit to this dude’s patience, it’s really hard to find; like reaching the bottom of the ocean in a submarine or whatever (which might  be too much for Serena?). And he is just so unflinchingly positive, that any barbed comments sent his way would only be met with amusement or a calm smile. Ze’s not easily ruffled. What ze is is a bit  ... slow cooking with certain things (I think falling in love is one of them, and letting hirself fall) so I could see them fallng into a bit of a ‘will they or won’t they’, with her ghosting -- and that also making him a bit leery re: expecting commitment from her. A part of me is like they’d be better friends, he’s also a humor guy --- big on puns, totally off-beat .... but if they ever got past their wariness, he’d be so sweet with / to her.

(she’d just have to accept that she married isaako ... bc that’s his soulmate)

oh, and ariel is 5′11, brown hair, grey eyes, and is built how you’d imagine a lean muscular handyman off a romance novel to be built like ... bc ze is a lean muscular handyman.

Nayzak was a model child in school for the most part. She has ADHD so she did get in trouble for things like forgetting homework or missing classes, but nothing too serious though!

Joint funfact: Both Naz and Ayat feature in my Mass Effect AU~ Ayat is my badass Femshep and Naz is one of her squadmates~ Also they're dating in this AU and it's very much: Friends to lovers to enemies to friends again to yearning to oh no Shepard just died to save the galaxy.

🌋- Has your muse done something stupid and not regret it? She keeps getting romantically entangled with Ortega and he is simultaneously the stupid thing she's ever involved herself with and the best thing that ever happened to her. It's complicated lol. She hasn't regretted it... yet. Who knows what the future holds lol.

💎- Is your muse drawn to things that sparkle? Nah, she's too practical. The only use sparkly shit has is being sold for money that can be used for furthering her many agendas.

🎐- Does your muse like to collect/hoard anything? As a villain, no. As Sidestep, Riley hoarded every picture and news article and magazine clipping featuring Sidestep she possibly could. She kept them in a shoebox under her bed. Ortega has it, it's at the ranch for safe keeping after his apartment got attacked lol.

How about 5 and 8 for wren?

ahh ty, sky! 🥰 5. What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? Wren last cried when she escaped the Farm for the last time (and she's sworn it will be the last time). She's -- secretly, begrudgingly -- extremely sentimental: once she'd made it out and gotten far enough away that she could allow herself a moment to orient herself beyond the midnight escape plan, she cried. Hard. I think what really hammered home that she'd done it -- made it out again -- was that first sunrise, a few hours after she'd made it to a safe zone. The first warm fingers of sunlight cupping her cheek, curling around her shoulders like a golden blanket broke something in her -- or fixed something, maybe. (If asked, of course, she would say the sun got into her eyes and made them water.)

8. Describe the place where they sleep. Wren definitely has a taste for luxury that could rival Ortega's (and one that Jules definitely helped her hone during their years of being crime-fighting gal pals who kiss sometimes). She's too clever to be ostentatious about it, so her apartment is comfortable without being over-the-top, though she adds in luxe touches wherever she thinks she can get away with it. Think: really good sheets, fluffy down comforter, lots of squishy pillows, etc. For sleeping, Wren likes it dark and cold. She's always got a fan going (the white noise factor is an added bonus), and definitely has blackout curtains over the window in her bedroom. I think if Wren had her way, she might actually sleep in a cave (although she would absolutely bring mounds of blankets with her in order to cocoon herself). Her bedroom is pretty spare, otherwise – she's one of those people who tends to prefer her sleeping space to be just for sleeping (which is totally weird of her and I do not understand it at all).
