Reconnaissance (Hermit Tommy AU)
(hooo boy here comes the start of a very long project, in which wrongs try to be righted in more worlds than one. This is a slight continuation of the fic Vulnerable, so maybe check that out of you're confused. Enjoy!)
TW: Death
-
Legend has it that the End connects all worlds.
There is countless spawns, countless new worlds created every second, but there is only one End. The End connects all threads of the wide, wide universe, and if you go far enough, you can see the start of other civilizations on pale islands farther out than the fabled badlands. If you go far enough, if you traverse the End more than any have before, you can start to see beginnings.
Xisuma knows this is all talk. But all legends start in truth. The End is where the admin begins his search.
He's surprised to find Tommy's old world very quickly.
There are few worlds that are completely closed off from the End, and of those few only one is still actively inhabited.
The Dream SMP. The name can't be a coincidence.
Xisuma turns to the world's history now, the hardest part of locating the world now over. It's then that Xisuma learns the best news; the world is regularly open to MCC, and that means a way in.
He tells only Tango of his plan, prepares him for the worst. If Xisuma leaves and doesn't return, Hermitcraft won't have an admin, and the world will die. It would be irresponsible to leave with that much responsibility on his shoulders, but Xisuma would not ask any of his hermits to go in his place, and he reminds Tango firmly of this when the mod protests his decision.
Xisuma spends the next month teaching Tango how to take up the mantle of admin while Xisuma is gone, and before the night of MCC he relinquishes the power in its entirety to his closest confidant. The transfer of administrator leaves both Xisuma and Tango out of commission for quite a while, Xisuma's body struggling through the sudden withdrawal of magic and Tango's attempting to adjust to the influx of power that came too quickly for him to process.
Xisuma departs while Tango rests, leaving the unsure promise of return in his wake in a book and quill before he steps through the portal to MCC.
Xisuma knows where to go. The portal to the Dream SMP has been reignited since the scare last time, and the former admin easily slips through the gateway during the hubbub of the event.
xisumavoid joined the game
<FoolishG> o/
<Ranboo> who
<ItsFundy> wait what
<xisumavoid> Hello. Do any of you know a Dream?
<awesamdude> Who are you?
Xisuma stared at his communicator screen. He chose to not disclose his reasoning for his arrival, on edge because of Tommy's state he was in when he found Hermitcraft. These people could be extremely dangerous.
<xisumavoid> I'm Xisuma, I'm not going to stay long. I just need to speak with Dream. This is his world, correct?
Silence.
Xisuma nervously tucked his communicator away. This world had set him on edge enough; his ability of perception was not as heightened as it used to be since his admin abilities were passed over, but he could still feel that the magic of this world was strained and warped.
The magic of Hermitcraft that he was used to felt light, warm, like a summer breeze on a perfect day, with small snaps of explosive energy that came from volatile and powerful players all in one space. It was generally pleasant.
This world felt...dull. Dull and stretched out too far, as if there wasn't enough magic to go around. What little there was felt tainted somehow, wrong in a way that Xisuma could not describe.
It was suffocating. Xisuma wanted to be out of there as quickly as he could.
The former admin looked around, cringing slightly at the awful mess of cobblestone and dirt and wood planks that made up a wall all around spawn. Besides the crude structure, spawn was abandoned and uninhabited.
Odd.
Xisuma chose not to dwell on it too much, and turned to a crack in the wall where he could leave the box.
He ventured out to a forest of spruce, nothing to be seen for 10 chunks in every direction. All that was in Xisuma's render distance was untouched trees.
The hermit tried his communicator again.
<xisumavoid> Where is everyone? There are no structures close to spawn. Can someone offer coordinates?
"Why are you here." Came a voice in response. Xisuma jumped out of his skin, whipping around so fast he nearly fell off the wall.
A creeper hybrid stood a few blocks from him, clad in ornate golden armor that Xisuma could tell was imbued with enchanted netherite. The look on his face was as cold and intimidating as his netherite sword clutched firmly in one of his paws.
"Uh--hello! I'm here to see Dream." Xisuma replied warily. "What's your name?"
"Sam." The hybrid offered bluntly. "And I can't let you see him."
A flicker of confusion disrupted the growing unease in Xisuma's mind. "I'm unarmed, I promise-"
"It's not for him." Sam cut him off, and Xisuma swallowed his words.
"...I don't understand." Xisuma said, getting the feeling that his wariness of the new server was not nearly enough as it should be. It was then that the hermit noticed Sam deflate, only barely, but enough for Xisuma to see that the hybrid was crushed with guilt.
"...He killed the last person that tried to talk to him." Sam explained lowly. Xisuma blinked. "For your safety and the server's, I can't let you see him. I don't know you, and I don't know if you're here to break him out."
"I'm not worried about dying, I--why is it a big deal?" Xisuma asked carefully. Sam's head snapped up to stare at him with hollow eyes, sending a shiver down the hermit's spine despite how close he was with Doc.
"...It was his last life." Sam said, slowly and deliberately, speaking as if it was terrible taboo to utter the words.
"You can't respawn here?" Xisuma asked, his unease pitching. There was respawn magic here, he could feel it, this wasn't a hardcore world.
"We can." Sam explained curtly. "But if we die and it's important, it's...that's it. We only get three lives."
Sam then looked down, and Xisuma noticed how tired the hybrid suddenly seemed. His paw clenched the hilt of his sword so tight that it shook in his grip.
"Tubbo only had one left." Sam muttered thickly, his voice full of regret and bitterness. Xisuma's stomach dropped.
"...Tubbo is dead?" The hermit realized, slowly. Sam looked up, his eyes now very suspicious as he looked Xisuma over again.
"Who are you? Why are you talking like you know Tubbo and Dream?" Sam interrogated, lifting his blade. Xisuma didn't even blink, his mind fuzzy with the static of shock and disbelief. Tubbo...was dead.
"I...came here for Tommy." Xisuma answered distantly. "He...I wanted to bring Tubbo back to him."
The color drained from Sam's face, but in Xisuma's state he really didn't have the energy to process the look of shock.
"Tommy's alive?"
_
"Tango, look into my eyes, only my eyes."
"No, nope." Tango jerked away from Keralis's hypnotizing stare. "Nice try."
"Tango," Keralis said again, his voice a disappointed purr. He really was laying it on thick. "I just want to know where Shishwammy is."
"He's doing important admin stuff, I told you!" Tango said, his bark having no real bite. Xisuma instructed him exactly; no one was to know where he went. X didn't want any of his hermits to follow him into that world of destruction.
Tango kept it locked, just as he promised, but Keralis was making it so difficult.
"Look, Keralis, I'm really tired. Can I please go back to resting." Tango tried. Keralis's huge eyes stared through him for a couple seconds, but then the hermit visibly backed off. Tango breathed a sigh of relief.
"...Get well soon, sweetface." Keralis hummed reluctantly, turning and shooting out the opening to Toon Towers. Tango watched his silhouette get smaller and smaller on the horizon before turning back to his bed.
What he told Keralis wasn't a lie. His bones felt like they'd been individually hit by a ravager from all the magic that now flowed through him. The humming of every life force in Hermitcraft had been giving him a nonstop headache.
He'd definitely gained more respect for Xisuma's role in their world after experiencing what that truly meant, but he always worryingly came back to the reason the power was given to him in the first place.
It'd been radio silence from Xisuma's end since he left for the SMP, but Tango could still feel his life force pulling at his mind, distantly. It was a very odd sensation, but knowing his friend was still alive and connected to Hermitcraft gave him comfort.
Still. Tango was out of his element, and he hoped Xisuma would return as soon as possible.
Splashing sounds of water gradually became louder and louder to Tango, making him throw an arm over his face in annoyance. He just wanted to sleep, void's sake.
"Tango, my friend! How are you, big man!" A punch to the arm startled Tango into nearly falling out of bed, Tommy's signature loud 'pah-HAH' following his scrambling attempt to get upright.
"Oh, shut up!" Tango said, a traitorous smile growing on his face while Tommy giggled.
"What do you want, Tommy." Tango sighed exaggeratedly. Tommy shuffled in place, a poorly hidden look of mischief in his eyes.
"...You have any TNT?" Tommy reached, and Tango pinched the bridge of his nose. Of course. "What for."
"I wanna scare Zedaph when he goes to bed with an explosion noise!" Tommy grinned, all coyness instantly abandoned. Tango locked eyes with the excited kid.
"Tommy, get your shulker boxes." Tango ordered, and Tommy gave a cheer, bolting for the ender chest in the corner. "All right! Gonna do fucked up shit, we're wrongens!"
"Hey, no swearing in front of the kids." Tango chastised goodnaturedly, prepared to say "you" when Tommy asked what children were around.
The question never came. Tango turned away from digging through his chests of gunpowder to check if Tommy had heard him, all humor fading away when he noticed the kid frozen in place looking down at the contents of his ender chest.
"Tom?" Tango asked, approaching with enough speed to not startle the boy. He peered over Tommy's head when there was no response, and found what looked to be a lodestone compass gripped in Tommy's scarred hand.
"...Tommy?" Tango tried again, hesitantly laying a hand on the kid's shoulder. "What's up?"
"It's." Tommy choked, and Tango tensed in alarm when he noticed tears threatening the boy's eyes. "It's not moving-"
"What?" Tango asked, and a stake was driven right through his chest when Tommy looked up with the most crushing expression of despair Tango has ever seen in his life.
"Tubbo's--" Tommy's face screwed up, the tears finally falling. He turned back to the still compass, caving in on himself to press it to his chest. A pitiful, grueling wail grew in the boy's throat, and Tango's eyes widened as he put the pieces together all at once.
That was a soul compass, and it was still. Whoever was on the other end was still as well.
Tommy's best friend was dead.

this doesn't go public for another few hours but the zero people who will see this before it does wont even know what camp so it doesn't matter
hi im a teenage girl who works at a nature lodge at a camp in the summer ive been working there for years and since staff lives together for like two months theyre like family when i go to camp, i get up at 6:30 in the morning after going to sleep around 12 or 1am and im busy from 7am to 9pm every day some days its after 9pm we get up and do the flag ceremony and eat breakfast and set up program which is 9am to around 3pm and sometimes its til 5pm if your area has open program that day and i teach kids about rocks and minerals and erosion and dinosaurs and fossils and animal sounds and tracks and the animals we have in the lodge (we catch and release our animals every year from whats on property) and we might do a turtle race and i do that again until lunch then i do it again after for each session and if they have a second day we teach the greenhouse and the bug house and when program is over we do work projects until flags and dinner and sometimes we do work projects after dinner and the last day of the kids stay is chose your own adventure where the areas have all sorts of things to do and leaders chose what the kids do and they build their own schedule and the nature lodge usually does cubs who care and the river tour with some a-quad staff and my personal favorite, tracking, and their last night we have closing campfire where the packs can sign up to do a song or skit and staff does songs and skits inbetween and when all the songs and skits are done staff lines up and sings vespers as the scouts walk away and the nature lodge does a night hike and nav does a storytelling session and the rest of staff do humpty dumpty where we circle up and clap a beat singing (closer to chanting ig) “hump ty dump hump hump ty dump hump ty dump hump hump ty dump say what” and in-between each of those someone goes in the middle and says smth like “mary had a little lamb the doctor was surprised” and other variants and some things ppl say every time and theres smth we have to do with it like singing “its a small world” as all the short people go in the middle and ending with “so get off my world” as we try to intimitate tall ppl and we respond the same but saying “its a tall world” and when people finish in the circle we say “huh aint that funky now” and go back to the chanting and clapping and eventually some admin steps in and says goodnight or its girls shower hour or some other news and from 9-11 its free time essentially and i can go on a walk with my best friend or talk with a group of friends or sit in the dining hall and play games or watch videos or whatever and we do that every day all summer except for the days we check people in and staff weeks where its all work projects and getting ready and shut down week/weekend where its all putting things away for next year and we get nights off where we go to Walmart and fuck around or to some food place like wawa or the energy station or taco bell and bring food back for staff who wanted stuff and we have a Christmas in july event where everyone has a secret santa and theres tons of snacks and we put up a chrismas tree with oradments from all the program areas and we decorate the dining hall and play chrismas music over the speakers with a fire on the projector bc we don't have an actual fireplace and some times admin just does nice things for us like open pool time or pizza and a bonfire or open boating or .22s and shotguns at the rifle range or open archery or chances to tie dye our shirts bc we have certain days were we wear tie dye shirts or hawaiian shirts or oa day with the oa sashes which is the day of the overnighter where scoutcraft takes a bunch of aol’s hiking somewhere (usually the garrison field but sometimes the archery field) to pitch tents and cook dinner and whatever else they do on the overnighter and we don't get paid much but ig that ensures that we aren't there for the money right and sometimes its hard and sometimes its stressful mostly for directors or admin and you might want to cry from smth mean that an angry dad said but theres always that kind mom and her kid to tell you they've been coming to camp for years and they love it and its not fair of that guy to expect us to stop the rain or smth so his campsite isn't muddy and theres always the staff kudos usually written by the kids with their wobbly letters and their kind words to the one with the glasses at or the girl at or the tall one at and the parents who tell admin about the lovely staff and the kids you see every year growing before your eyes and they packs that always come back and the leaders who are friends with the staff and invite us to their campfires and give us food bc we legally cant accept anything else and some staff love camp for the kids, some for it being a summer job, some for being with their friends, some for being away from home, some for being in the woods, and some, like me, who are there for all of it camp is my safe place my home the only place ive even been where just being in the vicinity makes me peaceful i drive the road through camp and im happy, i step foot on property and im gleeful, i stay the summer and im elated, theres nothing bad for me at camp, i mean sure theres always the annoying kid in a pack or the pack that doesn't stop talking long enough for you to teach or the parent whos mean or whatever else might not be the ray of your sun but im not asking it to be perfect, i don't expect it to be, i just want it to be there when i need it and it always has
until now
council cancelled all camps
so these people who work full time overseeing stuff for my camp and the other one in council and all the people who work at the camps and the shop and work with the districts and the packs and troops and crews that are within, these very important, very hardworking people whos priority is always safety, have determined that any in person camping experience is too much of a hazard to conduct and i understand and respect that
but it doesn't stop me from being devastated
it dosent stop me from being angry
two weeks ago we had a zoom call saying we still have jobs and its just going to be a little different this summer, today we have no jobs and im panicing

*slides into inbox once again* Hi, i've been busy with work so i didn't read the stories till yesterday. Even then, i had no idea what to say bc they're so good and adorable. Is it ok if i request another? i just love the others you wrote they're amazing and i love them. If it is ok then i would like to request a chan scenario similar to the felix one, but maybe not in hs. Thank you so much for this! ~felix anon
Hello! Thank you for the request! I am so happy to hear that the other scenarios brought you joy. I hope this one lives up to the others! Enjoy~!
Admin Rex
You had just barely stepped one foot outside the threshold of your classroom when you were almost toppled over. When you straightened up, an arm was slung around your shoulders. You steady your breathing because you came this close to a face-to-face meeting with the cement beneath your feet.
“Hey, Minho.” You smile slightly at the taller figure currently leaning unnecessary weight onto your barely smaller body. He smiled that big, bright smile that he approached you with on the day you became friends, “Hello, Y/N. How was class?” Your soulless glare and half-hearted shrug told him all he needed to know. He laughed his signature laugh, and you found yourself chuckling along because it was just that kind of contagious laugh. He dragged you along, and you really didn’t know where he was pulling you. You didn’t mind, being able to just be with him is nice, considering you’re both uni students and don’t often have a lot of time for friends. Minho removed his arm from your shoulders, content with just walking beside you. He got you to chat about the most random things until he exclaimed a loud Ow! as his body jerked forward with weight that wasn’t his own.
“Hey! Minho, Y/N!” Another friend greeted. Jisung laughed as Minho attempted to softly jab him in the side. Jisung continued through his laughter and efforts of dodging Minho’s fingers, “I need to ask a favor.” Minho stopped, his curiosity piqued. When Jisung requested help, it either ended up being something incredibly troubling or just plain weird. Jisung put his hands together in front of him as he grinned at you and your best friend, “The radio station is really low on hands, and we really need help! Would you be willing to assist the valiant 3RACHA team?” There was a short silence and you thought you could hear the crows calling out - caw… caw… caw… - before he sighed, “Aw, man. You guys were my last hope.”
Seeing his defeated expression and hearing his troubled sigh, you felt your heart squeeze. You always had a soft spot for Jisung and his too bright smile, “Jisung, I’ll help.” Almost instantly, his smile returned with the intensity of four suns, “Really? This is why you’re my favorite, Y/N!” He then proceeded to stick his tongue out at Minho, who returned the childish gesture. Jisung turned back towards you, “When are you free?”
You took a moment to think. You were technically free, but you were hanging out with Minho. You also should really start that music project you’d been putting off. But Jisung’s hopeful eyes made it nearly impossible to say not now. “Well, I guess I can help out, too. We’re free now.” Minho seemed to have made the decision for you. Jisung enthusiastically grabbed yours and Minho’s wrists to drag you across the campus in record time. Eventually, you were standing outside the music building, the same one you’d just left over an hour ago. You followed Jisung and Minho as you were led up to the second floor. The door itself was like the others, grey with a glass pane. You wouldn’t have realized what room you were standing in front of if it weren’t for the bright red piece of paper decorated with three very different chicken doodles. You really wondered why they chose 3RACHA for their radio name. Actually, you wondered that about a few of the other clubs, too. Like the Newspaper club. Why were they called PepperJJANG?
Jisung pushed you and Minho into the room. It was definitely fit for being a radio room, and that was probably the intended purpose, too. The room was small to begin with, but it was even smaller now that it had been divided into two. One side, the one you were on, had many pieces of equipment - all of which you knew how to use thanks to your music classes - and a few chairs pushed up against the walls and desks. One the other side of the glass that split the room were the other two members of the radio station seated at a table covered in loose papers and cords. You only knew Jisung by name - he is your friend, after all - and you’d seen the other two around before. They both looked incredibly surprised at your arrival. Jisung had propped the door open as he entered the other room, allowing you to hear their conversation freely.
“Who…?” One of them asks, they’re all looking at you and Minho now. Jisung is waving his hand in a beckoning motion, so you and Minho awkwardly shuffle through the door. “These are the friends I was telling you might help us!” The blond one lets out a small ‘uwah’ before standing up, “Thank you so much for this, really.” He bows in your direction before nudging the person beside him to do the same. After making sure everyone was thanked properly, Jisung motioned for you to introduce yourself, “Hi, I am (Y/N). I really can’t turn Jisung down when he really needs help,” you chuckle nervously. The blond grins at you with a nod. Minho also introduces himself before Jisung’s teammates do. “Well, I’m Chan. This one is Changbin.” Just from hearing their names, you can deduce that Chan goes by CB97 on the radio and Changbin is SpearB.
Chan continued grinning at you while Jisung tried explaining what had to be done around Minho’s incessant interruptions. The older boy looked familiar to you, but you weren’t quite sure yet. You kept looking away from him to look at Jisung, but you just felt compelled to look at him. Everytime you’d look his way, he’d make eye contact, and it was flustering. Jisung and Changbin didn’t seem to notice you weren’t listening, but Minho made sure you caught his smirk.
It wasn’t until the following week that Jisung approached you and Minho again. Your first assignment for the radio club was to man the station controls, with the help of Minho, of course. It was relatively uneventful. You always tuned into the radio, so you were pretty much up-to-date with all school events, but there wasn’t anything going on this week. You suspect it has something to do with upcoming finals. You felt a twinge of nerves shoot through your body at the reminder. You know you’re pretty much prepared for all of your classes except for one: Music Composition. The final for that class was to turn in your own music piece putting all the knowledge you’ve acquired during the semester to use. You were stuck. Your piece just didn’t sound right to you, no matter how you edited it. You had half a mind to ask one of your friends who’d completed the course for help, but knew that they would be just as busy as you.
These were the thoughts on your mind as you find yourself wandering through the sections of books in the campus library. It always surprised you how many students actually studied in the library. You found yourself standing in front of the non-fiction books and you legitimately had no idea how these books would help you. You continued to stare at the books in front of your face when you felt a tap on your shoulder. Turning, you come face to face with Chan. He has a wide smile on his face when he asks, “What has you wandering the library like you’re lost?” It takes you a moment to clear your head of your current despair. You tell him about your upcoming final, and he nods, totally getting where you’re coming from. “You know, I could probably help you with your assignment.” Your eyes widen at him, “Are you sure?” Chan nods at you, clearly willing to help you.
In the time you’d been assisting 3RACHA, you learned that Chan was not only a music major, but a very selfless person as well. “That would be really, really helpful and I would owe you my life.” Were you being dramatic? Maybe, but you really would be in debt to Chan if he was able to help you. He laughed with you while saying that he wouldn’t mind being payed back. After comparing schedules, you settled on a day and time with him. He smiled, his dimples on display, “Well, it’s a date, then.”
On the day that you had to meet with Chan, you were nervous. Why? Well, you’re sharing a piece of music you, a newbie to composing, created yourself with a more experienced producer. And, Chan was really kind and you maybe think he’s good-looking, but that’s beside the point. You had told Chan that you could meet at the little café that was a few blocks away from your apartment. Unfortunately, when you got there, all the tables were occupied. Fortunately, Chan had already claimed a table. You greeted him with a wide smile that he full heartedly returned. After placing an order for drinks, you sat down across from Chan. You were pulling out your laptop rather quickly and skimming your files for the song you had composed thus far. You really wanted to get this done; you’d fail otherwise. Chan sat patiently until you rotated the device until it was facing him, headphones connected and ready to go. You busied yourself with waiting for your order while the 3RACHA member listened to your song.
When you returned with the drinks, Chan had his eyes closed and had an expression of focus. You took a sip of the drink you ordered, dreading when he would finish listening to the song. It wasn’t long before you were looking into his amazingly brown eyes, “Well, I definitely get what you mean by it sounding empty,” You felt a bit more nervous as he continued, “but I think I can really help you!” You couldn’t help grabbing his hand, “Thank you, really!” He smiled pointing out that he hasn’t even done anything to help you, yet. You continued to stare at him while holding his hand. The tips of Chan’s ears were beginning to turn red, and you realized that your cheeks were hot, and you should probably let go of his hand now. You withdraw your hands slowly, not looking away from him up until someone slammed their hands down on the table in front of you. You jumped horrendously, looking up at the culprit. Minho was smiling at you, but it was the all-knowing smile he would give you when you got caught doing something you wouldn’t openly share with him. Like maybe having a crush on someone. In that moment, you knew you’d have to tell him everything. Minho raised his eyebrows and you remembered, “Oh, I am so sorry Chan! I promised that I’d tutor Minho today. He really needs help because he sucks at English” You couldn’t help the last part. He did just embarrass you. Chan smiles, “It’s no problem. We can meet up some other time.”
When Chan stood and left, Minho slid himself into the now empty seat, claiming it as his own. He smiled deviously, “So.” You groaned and placed you head on top of the keyboard of your computer. He laughed before prompting you to speak. You start as you put away your laptop, “So what if I think he’s cute?” Minho grinned like a cat at your admission, and you knew you’d just sealed your fate.
A couple of days later, you were approaching 3RACHA’s room. Just as you cracked the door open slightly, you heard Minho’s voice. The only part you caught was “I think you and (Y/N) would be pretty cute together.” It seemed like he was feigning innocence and maybe some disinterest. You could hear Chan’s high pitched laugh as a form of response. Quickly, you whipped out your phone to text Minho: what do you think you’re doing??? You hear your best friend’s phone go off, but are startled when Chan continues, “I do like (Y/N). But, I don’t want to come off as too abrupt.” Minho mumbled something that sounded like “I don’t think you have to worry about that.” Chan made a little noise. You waited a few more ticks before opening the door. Chan’s back was turned so you stuck your tongue out at Minho. He shrugged just as Chan turned around. The blonde looked shocked to see you standing behind him, “Oh, hello, (Y/N).” He smiled at you before making a beeline to the door. You were surprised to see Jisung and Changbin already in their seats. You really hoped they didn’t somehow hear everything Minho and Chan said. You watched Chan as he pulled his phone from his pocket. A few seconds of watching Chan type later, your phone chimed from where it was in your hand. Confused, you checked it because Minho was in the same room, so he would’ve actually spoke to you. You were surprised to see a text from Chan: I know you still need help with your music project, but I would really like to take you out for some dinner. Will you go on a date with me?
If a sappy grin was on your face when you nodded at Bang Chan, then that was between him and you.

Love Warning
Pairing: SKZ′s Hyunjin x OC [Linna] || SKZ’s Chan x OC [Kierra] Genre: college!au, slice of life, slight fluff Word Count: 8,406 Summary: Linna and Kierra both find themselves submerged under water unexpectedly. They’re both saved even though they know how to swim. What happens afterwards leads them in another path towards love, perhaps. It’s a love warning they didn’t see coming.
Warning: curse words. ditching class. name calling per se lol i think that’s it.
hello guys! i’m back and it’s another SKZ story. this was inspired by Third KZ’s Love Warning and something my sister would love a story for and viola, it’s here. more or less in a sense. why it also draws the same title as well. plus i didn’t know what else to call it since while writing this the temporary title was ‘love warning’. anyways, other than that happy reading, Admin Lia~
revised. 9.10.20
"It's just a kickback, Rara." Linna reminded her sister as the duo arrived at their friend's house.
Kierra rolled her eyes before answering. "Yeah, true, but we both still have classes in the morning tomorrow."
"We're not gonna stay that long. Just say hi and hang out. Besides, it's also Ayeon's birthday."
"Yeah, next week."
"Whatever. She's just celebrating it early. C'mon, Rara. Don't be such a loner."
Linna dragged Kierra towards the house and rang the door bell with the latter rolling her eyes an evident frown upon her face. The sisters were greeted by an unfamiliar female face, but the stranger still welcomed them with a smile.
"Hello, ladies."
"Hi. Ayeon invited us." Linna introduced themselves. "I'm Linna and this is Kierra."
"Oh, right. Yes, yes. I remember her mentioning the both of you. I'm Christina, but wow. You guys can totally pass off as twins." Christina commented with a laugh.
"Hello, Christina, and wow, Ayeon's even spreading that nonsense to random people." Linna said with a shake of her head.
"Haha yeah, she talks about you two a lot. She misses y'all late night food and movie sessions. Anyways, come on in. Everyone's out back." Christina informed them as she opened the door wider. "Ayeon's still in her room getting ready and what not."
"Thanks." The duo thanked Christina as they entered and headed towards the backyard.
Once the two reached the backyard they noticed that there were a steady crowd hanging around the pool area and the backyard itself. It wasn't too crowded and seemed more like a mini party instead of a get-together kickback.
"So much for a kickback." Kierra muttered towards Linna who shrugged with a smile.
"Her words, not mine."
"Yo, Linna! Kierra! What's up!" Their friend, BamBam, greeted them first upon noticing them arriving and motioned them over.
The sisters made their way to him and their other friend, Yugyeom.
"Hey, guys." The duo greeted.
"Who are all these people?" Kierra asked after glancing at the group of people scattered all over Ayeon's backyard.
"Ayeon's friends from her other school after transferring last semester." Yugyeom answered.
"Ah, right, right. That makes total sense."
"No wonder I don't recognize the majority of those here." Linna commented before spotting two familiar faces. "Oh, wait. I see Jamie and Yerin way back over there."
"They arrived a few minutes before you did." BamBam informed them before looking over towards the refreshment tables. "Do you guys want something to drink?"
"Maybe later." Kierra replied before looking behind her back at the house. "I'm gonna put away Ayeon's gift first and gotta use the bathroom. I'll be back afterwards."
"Okay. I'll chat with these two before seeing Yerin and Jamie." Linna added.
"Okay. I'll be back."
Kierra waved the trio off as Linna remained with the other two.
"So, why did Ayeon decide to have a mini party instead of a kickback?" Linna asked the pair.
"She wanted both of her friends from the different school to mingle." Yugyeom answered with a shrug. "I mean, Ayeon's been up in her room changing her outfits from swimwear to casual to classy and all that. She's still the same even transferring."
"She said it's because she wanted everyone to mingle and get to know one another without her doing all of the work and to let it all happen naturally." BamBam explained from what he had heard from Ayeon earlier that day.
"Sounds like her." Linna remarked with a chuckle before looking around again with a neutral look before looking at the males.
"Well, it just started so I'm sure it'll pick up. Anyways, I'm gonna say hi to the other two and catch up with y'all later."
"Alright, see you." The duo bid her goodbye as Linna made her way towards her other two friends.
While Linna was walking over to Jamie and Yerin along side the length of the pool she happened to spot another group of people on her way over to her own friends. She wasn't really paying attention to them until they took notice of her as they recognized who she was. Although Linna attended the same school with that group since junior high it wasn't like she was popular at school to make her stand out or anything.
Then again, one of the guys of that group named Hyunjin sort of held a grudge on his part as Linna didn't really bothered herself with the male. Sure they had some classes together and had projects and assignments with one another a few times, but other than that she never associated herself with him on that end. Linna wasn't even sure on why he was always a brat or a jerk towards her, but then again she never pondered on it much and just did her own thing.
So when Linna was about a meter from them she suddenly stopped walking when she noticed Hyunjin had blocked her path after being pushed by one of his friends. The duo just stared at one another awkwardly before Hyunjin took a step forward, but Linna took a step backward out of instinct with a cautious look in his direction. Curious, Hyunjin did it again and Linna repeated her previous reaction. Amused, Hyunjin took a few more steps towards Linna and she took a few more back.
In the process of being cautious of his actions, Linna ended up tripping over her own feet and was about to fall backwards into the pool, but Hyunjin instinctly reached out an arm to help her. Unconsciously, Linna took a hold of his outreached hand to keep herself from falling into the water. Hyunjin firmly held his stance in hopes of not letting go of Linna's hand although Hyunjin's group of friends were suddenly chanting for him to let her go.
Upon hearing the loud chant, Linna looked at Hyunjin wondering what he was gonna do as Hyunjin's facial expressions seemed like he was in turmoil in what to do. After a few seconds of nothing really happening, Linna was about to use Hyunjin's strength to her advantage and pulled herself forward. Before she could actually do that she suddenly felt herself slowly falling backwards instead and into the swimming pool.
Linna realized that Hyunjin had actually let her hand go in accordance to what his friends were chanting and chose to be a jerk in that moment for them. As Linna tried to resurface it appeared like she was struggling when in reality she wasn't. Her outfit weighed her down and made her unable to use her arms easily. When Hyunjin noticed that Linna seemed like she was struggling his guilty conscious ate at him and with a deep sigh he dived into the pool to save her.
Seconds later Hyunjin noticed that he could actually stand up on this side of the pool after diving into the water. He turned his head to the left and noticed that Linna was also standing with her arms cross over her chest while glaring at him. There was laughter from the crowd and the pair quickly looked up at the others becoming aware of their situation. Linna slapped a hand against the surface of the water to splash against Hyunjin to let him know of her annoyance at what had just happened.
Hyunjin cast her a sheepish look as Linna rolled her eyes while quickly pulling her phone from out of her pocket. She held the power button to shut off the device while waddling over to the edge of the pool to pull herself out of it. If the situation was any different, she wouldn't have minded being in the pool, but since it wasn't she was low-key annoyed. Linna was aided by Jamie and Yerin once they realized it was their friend who had gone into the pool and not a total stranger.
"You okay?" Jamie asked once Linna got out of the pool.
"Not really." Linna replied with a stoic expression.
"Are you hurt at all?" Yerin asked afterwards.
Linna shook her in response before glancing down at Hyunjin.
"I don't know what I did or said to you in the past for you to treat me this way, but this is some childish shit you got going on. Next time you or your friends see me, please leave me the fuck alone."
Before Hyunjin could respond, Linna turned her attention away from him while looking at her friends.
"Could you guys come with me and find Kierra? I don't want another incident to happen again once I walk by his group of friends."
"Sure. Yeah. Let's go." Yerin and Jamie agreed as they each protectively stood on either side of Linna and made their way towards the house.
Meanwhile that situation had happened with Linna, Kierra ended up with a similar situation of her own once she got done using the toilet. When she had stepped out of the house and back outside, Kierra's first instinct was to look for her sister. She took a few steps before remembering that Linna was gonna meet up with Jamie and Yerin. Kierra made her way to the back of the backyard before her attention turned towards a familiar friend upon feeling a tap on her shoulder.
"Minjun?" She let out in disbelief upon seeing her friend who she thought had went to school overseas and stopped walking to talk to him. "Hi, you. Damn, how are you? I thought you were in London? When did you get back?"
"Hi. Well, I did, but I'm back home now." He explained with a chuckle. "I got back like a month or two ago. I attend the same school as Ayeon."
"Oh, nice. And here I thought I wouldn't have to see your face for like another four years."
"Wow. Ouch. Some friend you are."
"Um, I'm pretty sure that's what you thought we were while growing up, Minjun."
"Ouch. Double burn. You're just asking for it, huh?"
"Wait. No. I'm kidding." Kierra denied while waving her hands in front of her in submission upon knowing what Minjun was gonna do to her after saying his words in response to her own.
Before Kierra could actually back away and duck from Minjun's hands, her friend's hand already ruffled her hair into a mess. Minjun laughed at his action while Kierra glared at him while fixing her hair back into place.
"Ugh. Rude." Kierra tsked while shooting him a narrowed look. "Linna worked hard in doing up my hair. You know how much tim-"
Before Kierra could finish her sentence the pair was interrupted by Minjun's girlfriend, Suvi. Well, more like Suvi pushing Kierra away from Minjun causing Kierra to unexpectedly fall into the pool right at the moment that Linna had resurfaced. Unlike Linna, Kierra went with the flow of it instead of trying to come back up instantly to the surface after being pushed in.
Kierra swam towards the floor of the pool as she had fallen in to the deep end. Compare to Linna, Kierra also wasn't wearing anything heavy to weigh her down. She was about to swim back up for air when she felt something wrapped around her waist and later pressed against something solid. Before she could even look over to her left, Kierra found herself breaking the water's surface with a cough and struggling for some air.
In that process Kierra wasn't aware that the person who helped her assumed she was drowning after not trying to come back up immediately. Just as she was trying to get some breaths in she was suddenly lifted out of the pool with the person joining her a second later. Before she could even register her current situation or glance at the person that aided her, Kierra found herself back into the pool thanks to Suvi.
"Oh, gosh, Suvi?!" Minjun exclaimed while casting his girlfriend and incredulous look. "What are you doing? Chan just got Kierra out of the pool the first time you pushed her in to it."
"I don't care. She deserved it. She was taking you away from me." Suvi argued as Minjun gave her a confused look before replying back. "She's one of my good friends and we were just catching up. Your jealousy is way out of line this time."
"But I love you, Minjun."
"But that doesn't give you the right to do what you did, Suvi. You really need to control your jealously."
While that couple argued, Chan had once again jumped back into the water to save Kierra. He helped her out and even made sure that Kierra was a good distance away from Suvi just in case she tried to push her back into the swimming pool.
"Are you okay?" Chan asked Kierra a moment later when he figured Kierra got her breathing in control.
"Yeah. I'm just feeling super peachy." Kierra replied nonchalantly while giving him an OK sign even though she hadn't looked over to see who he was as she was too busy calming herself down.
Closing her eyes in wanting to ease her temper from attacking this Suvi chick for pushing her into the pool twice already, Kierra remained calmed as she reassured the male of her status. "Totally peachy. Thank you though."
Chan chuckled at her response and before he could follow up with another question about Kierra's well-being once again, Linna had called out her sister's name upon nearing the house.
"Rara."
"Hmm?" Kierra hummed loudly while opening her eyes and looking towards the direction she heard her sister call for her. "What, Nana?"
When the sisters finally located where the other was and noticed their soaked clothes they asked each other the same question.
"What happened to you?"
They replied with the same response.
"I'll tell you later."
"Anyways, let's go home." Linna suggested. "I'll text Ayeon what happened later."
"Okay. Give me a minute."
"Alright. I'll be in the car."
"Okay."
Linna entered the house to exit through the front door with Yerin and Jamie still assisting her. Kierra stood up while looking down at the person who saved her almost forgetting about Chan.
"Um, thanks for saving me twice although I know how to swim, but you didn't know that. But uh, yeah, bye." She thanked Chan while giving him a small wave before walking away quickly after mouthing a goodbye to Minjun to avoid the girlfriend from getting even more jealous.
Linna arrived to class early and took the nearest seat to the door. Instead of worrying about the class Linna was more concern about her phone since it had a lot of important information on it. Currently it was in a ziploc bag of rice and sitting on her desk in her room since she got home last night. Linna hoped that after she got back home she would be able to use it without any difficulties. If not, then she would have to get a new one and hoped she backed up everything completely before falling into the pool yesterday.
Mindlessly staring at the open notebook in front of her as she thought about her phone, she didn't notice Hyunjin walking by until the seat next to her made a noise. Linna turned to her right and saw that Hyunjin had taken the seat next to her. Making a face, Linna turned away from him while propping up her right arm onto the table and leaning her head against her right fist to create a barrier. She began writing random things with her left hand to occupy herself.
"Can we talk about yesterday?" Hyunjin asked even though Linna was completely ignoring him.
Linna didn't reply.
"Linna?"
She still didn't respond.
"Alright, then just, hear me out, please."
Once again, Linna gave no response to his words.
"I like you, okay." Hyunjin confessed.
Linna scoffed as she immediately turned her attention towards him with a dubious expression.
"Seriously? You like me, but you treated me like shit since junior high. You confessing just makes you more of an asshole now, Hyunjin."
Hyunjin let out a sigh with a nod.
"Yes, Linna, I know that, but I never really thought about it until yesterday."
Linna scoffed again.
"Okay, wow. Thanks for telling me, Hyunjin. Now go sit somewhere else and fuck off."
"No, Linna, I won't." Hyunjin disagreed before frowning slightly upon remembering something. "Plus, we're partners starting today."
"Ah, fuck my life man. Seriously?" Linna groaned upon remembering that she had pulled Hyunjin's name out of the box the other day.
"We can e-mail each other instead. Just sit somewhere else."
"Look, Linna, I told you that I like you, but that's not the only reason on why I acted the way I did towards you. I wanna explain myself."
"Cool story, bro. I don't care for any more of your explanation or reasoning. Deuces." Linna dismissed him as she propped her right arm in-between them again and went back to writing random things on her notebook.
Before Hyunjin could try again the teacher called for their attention to listen in on the lesson as it would be on the final. Linna was minding her own business and wrote down things she perceived to be important for the upcoming final as she knew how the teacher did it until she saw a folded up note land on her notebook. She side-glanced Hyunjin as he motioned with his eyes for her to read it. Her eyes flickered back and forth between him and the note for a moment or two.
Curiosity got the best of her as she was bored and also knew that whatever the teacher was talking about for now, he would repeat later on the next class day. Linna let out a sigh as she picked up the note and slowly opened the content of it. There in Hyunjin's handwriting was the words 'can we talk?'. Linna rolled her eyes, but figured she could amuse the male for now until class was over. Plus, she the teacher's voice was starting to make her sleepily. She wrote her response before lazily sliding it back towards Hyunjin.
Less than ten seconds later the note was tossed in her line of sight again. Linna languidly opened the note and read the contents in boredom even though this thing was way more interesting than what Mr. Kim was currently talking about. Of course, she wouldn't let Hyunjin know that. One side of her lips quirked up upon seeing Hyunjin's response to her 'no'. Re-reading his 'let me make it up to you, please?' response to her 'no', Linna smirked while replying back to him.
Hyunjin wondered what Linna could be writing as she was taking quite a while. When he got the note back there were two words on it. The obvious was another 'no', but a 'warning' was written underneath alongside a drawing of what he assumed was him being punched in the face by what he assumed was a drawing of Linna. Hyunjin cast her a curious look as she slightly waved at him with a playful look. He could tell from her eyes that she was challenging him to mess with her. So Hyunjin wasn't sure if he should continue or try another time. He went with the former as a mischievous smile graced his lips.
Kierra tiredly climbed the steps to the second floor of the school's building while trying to keep her breathing under control. She would have taken the elevator, but she hated riding it when there were a crowd of people and so she always opted for the stairs in those situations. After making a right when she reached the top of the stairs she began to hum to the song that randomly got stuck in her head since she woke up towards her designated spot.
When she arrived outside the classroom Kierra noticed there was a notice on the door of her class. She tilted her head while reading the contents and made a face after finishing it. She let out a groan upon the cancellation of her morning class. Out of habit, Kierra reached towards her back pocket to fish out her mobile device before realizing that it was at home in her room on her desk inside a Ziploc bag filled with rice since last night. In the same situation just like Linna's.
Kierra sighed wondering how she would inform Linna about her current situation since they both came to school together. Also, Kierra only had this one class and couldn't just go home like that. She also knew that she could go to Linna's class, but she didn't remember her sister's schedule. Kierra let out another sigh as she turned left and made her way back towards the stairs. Kierra also thought that she might as well get in her morning exercise for the day while she felt like it, too.
After deciding on the cafeteria for breakfast and a drink, Kierra settled herself down at a free table that wasn't surrounded by other students doing the same thing. Kierra pulled out her school materials and began working on other assignments while she waited for Linna's class to finish. Plus, if she didn't want to study or read books, then she could always watch TV in the cafeteria and let time rolled on by that way. To which she always opted for. Well, not today when another person joined her at her table and she glanced up to see who it was.
"Oh, hi, Seungmin. What's up?" Kierra greeted him with a small smile while closing her books.
"I should be asking you that, Kierra." Seungmin stated with a soft chuckle. "Aren't you supposed to be in class right now?"
"It got canceled. Also I came with Linna and so I can't leave since we both don't have our phones to contact one another."
"Ahh, it's because the both of you fell into the swimming pool at Maya's little birthday party, right?"
"Yeah, how'd you know?."
"I was there."
"Oh. I probably missed you."
"Well, I didn't miss you getting shove into the pool by Suvi."
Kierra shot him an annoyed look and was ready to rant to him.
"She pushed me into the water twice and I don't even know her. This is why I need to stop being friends with guys." She huffed before ranting again. "Their girlfriends always think I'm trying to steal them away or something. Ridiculous. Why would I still your man when I see him like a brother? Like, you serious or what? Anyways, some random dude had to save me although I don't know why though. He didn't even know me."
"Ah, Chan. That's just how he is. He's always thinking about others regardless of his own condition and what not. Also, he's a pretty great swimmer." Seungmin informed her with a smile. "Besides, Kierra, you've always gotten along with males more than females. So that's never gonna change."
"True. Anyways, what do you want?"
"I just came to have a chat with a friend. I can't do that?"
"No. I've got better things to do."
"Like what? Sit here and wait for Linna."
"Mmhmm."
"C'mon." Seungmin suggested while standing up and motioning with his head towards the door. "I wanna show you something."
"I don't wanna see what you want to show me." Kierra rejected.
Seungmin chuckled with a shake of his head. "I want you to meet some people."
"I hate people."
"Yeah, sure you do."
"I do, Seungmin."
"C'mon. You have nothing else to do. Plus, you'll have a lot of fun."
"You do know that our definition of fun is different, right?"
"I do, but I guarantee you that you'll enjoy yourself because we like good company."
"Ugh. Fine. Since we both love good company."
Linna thought that Hyunjin gave up when he didn't pass her the note again even though she noticed the weird smirk upon his face. She dismissed it as she went back to taking notes and doodling in her notebook. Linna's gaze drifted to the clock on the wall above the teacher's head and inwardly groaned about there being at least forty minutes left of class. She could ditch class and ask another student about what happened and go do something else, but she was the one paying for the course so ditching would seriously be a waste of her tuition.
Too lost in her own thoughts Linna didn't notice that Hyunjin had given her a new note. He placed it right on top of her notebook just like last time, but she gave no response. It wasn't until she felt a poked to her right cheek that brought her back to the present. Linna slowly turned her head to glare at Hyunjin who was already smiling at her. He pointed at the new note and Linna's attention went to it. She stared at the white piece of paper before using her pen to slide it back to its owner.
Hyunjin's jaw dropped upon her reaction and seemed offended as he pushed it back towards her, but Linna repeated her previous action. She smiled when the same note came back into view a third time. She looked over at Hyunjin as he cast her an angry pout while his eyes flashed back and forth between her and the note. Linna found it weird that he was acting like this after the incident and just confessing not that long ago. Still though, she never thought about entering a relationship as she was the type to let things happen if they ever did.
Now that her thoughts were thinking on their own. Her mind came to the thought about on she always thought that Hyunjin was a total cutie, but besides that she didn't really know that much about him. They didn't talk that much and even then it was always about school or some dumb comment he got for her. Then again, he was still a total jerk to her since junior high and even now without any real reason either. This made Linna recall what he had said earlier about there being another reason on why he acted the way that he did.
Still though, to her that didn't give her enough good reasons to see a different side of him as she only knew what he presented her with on that end. Linna also knew that she didn't interact that much with others even if they trusted her, she didn't really trust them all that much. She usually kept to herself and just did things at her pace without worrying about others unless it was a group assignment. A few seconds later, Linna inwardly scolded herself in wondering why she was even thinking of those things, especially about Hyunjin like this and why now.
Linna started to gather her things as quietly as possible, but Hyunjin became alerted to her movements. He didn't try to stop her and silently watched her packed up and quietly slipped out of her seat and towards the door. Linna didn't glanced back and Hyunjin pouted for some reason when she didn't spare him a glance. He contemplated to do the same or not. He took his things and chased after her, but once he left the classroom she was no where in sight. He did a three-sixty, but still Linna was nowhere to be found.
"Where did she suddenly go?" Hyunjin asked himself while doing another turn here and there.
Linna had instantly hid behind one of the pillars once she left the class. She had a feeling that Hyunjin would try and follow her, but she just didn't know exactly why. She watched the male try to look for her and found herself enjoying the way he was behaving. Linna couldn't figure out why this was amusing to her, but she assumed it might be due to her boredom and the fact that he was the person responsible for her phone.
Also, the other fact she may have enjoyed messing with him was being that she now knew he liked her. Although she wasn't sure why he would like her in the first place. Linna knew for sure that she wasn't that interesting and was more mellow than a lot of their peers and her own friends. She kept to herself. She hated drama. She didn't like going out and about unless she wanted to. She also didn't participate in things unless it interested her. So nothing came to mind in why Hyunjin would find something in her to like.
Too lost in her own thoughts, Linna wasn't aware that she had let out a loud giggle. Which alerted Hyunjin of the sound and he followed it to find her hidden behind the pillar. He smirked upon see her behaving like this and wasn't sure if he wanted to make his present known. He figured that she would continue to ignore him again, but then again Linna did the same thing even before he confessed his feelings. Now Hyunjin wanted to change that, but he knew that it wasn't going to be easy. He was willing to try though.
"Found you." He cooed while tapping Linna's left shoulder.
Linna jerked upright and slowly turned to face the male with a scrunched up face.
"What do you want?" She asked with clear disgust in her tone. "Can't you heed my warning?"
"No." Hyunjin answered before taking a deep breath before replying. "I wanna take you somewhere."
"Uh, no. I don't trust you."
"Just trust me this one time and then you can decide if you wanna talk to me ever again."
"I'm pretty sure I told you at Ayeon's party that if you ever see me to fuck off."
"That's kinda hard when we have classes together, Linna."
"Not really. Just ignore me. Pretty simple, my dude."
"I can't, Linna. I like you and I wanna make this right. So please, just trust me this once and then we can take it from there."
"How about this," Linna began in hopes of striking up a deal, "I'll trust you this once, if you buy me a new phone if my old one doesn't work."
"Deal." Hyunjin agreed without hesitation.
Linna cast him a cautious look.
"Seriously?"
"Mmhmm."
Hyunjin nodded his head happily while holding out his hand for her to take. Linna stared at his hand and shook her head.
"Nah. That's too easy. You're not playing around right?"
"I'm not. I'm toally serious." Hyunjin assured her with his offered hand still out to her.
"Fine, but I ain't holding your hand, boy." She declined while pushing his hand away. "You either lead or walk alongside me because I hate people walking behind me and I'm not about to hold your hand just yet either."
Hyunjin pouted, but comply.
"Alright. I'll do as you say."
Kierra was skeptical of where Seungmin was taking her, but still followed as she had nothing else to do. Also she had already finished her drink and sandwich, so she hoped this place had some snacks she could snack on. Anyways, Kierra took in her surrounding and saw that Seungmin stopped in front of some building that she never had to visit that was on the furthermost side of the campus. After entering the building Kierra followed Seungmin to the other end of it heading towards a door that led down to something like a basement.
"This better not be a prank, Seungmin." Kierra told him as he let out a chuckle.
"It isn't."
"Better be because I'm warning you, if you're fucking around with me I’ma destroy all your Day6 merch."
"I swear on my life as a MyDay it isn't."
Kierra didn't respond back as she didn't have anything else to say, but once they reached the end of the stairs she was surprised to see the area was brightly lit and cozy. Kierra was welcomed into what appeared to be like some sort of a hangout spot. Kierra was confused since it looked like someone's man-cave or one of those teenage hideouts away from reality on school's grounds. The only place she ever saw this was the lounge in the recreation room in the building for clubs activities and meetings which was usually off-limits to non-members.
There were already a few people occupying the room, but Kiera noticed that they were all male. There was no other female in sight and she became a bit apprehensive of it. None of them noticed her presence or that Seungmin had entered. When Seungmin turned around to introduce her to the others she was already glaring at him with a knowing look. Seungmin's smile dimmed as he shook his head in response to what Kierra may have been thinking and assuming upon noticing there was nothing but guys here.
"It's not like that." Seungmin assured her.
"Oh yeah? You sure?" Kierra countered.
Seungmin nodded in affirmation.
"Yes. It isn't. Remember I swear on my life as a MyDay on this."
"You did, Seungmin, you did, but then again, you never know."
"Kierra, seriously. They're like my closes friends. Besides, you met one of them already yesterday."
"Who?" Kierra asked clueless.
Before Seungmin could clarified, the duo were interrupted by the group of boys that finally took in their presence.
"Oh, Seungmin! What's up?!" Chan greeted his friend before shifting his eyes onto Kierra.
His eyes lit up in recognition and his smile broaden. Before Chan could greet her another male spoke.
"Ah! You brought Hyunjin's crush here?!"
"Who?" Kierra questioned.
"You." The same male repeated.
"Felix-" Seungmin said firmly, but Kierra interrupted him.
"Um, yeah, no. You got me confused with the wrong person and I'm just gonna go."
She pointed a thumb behind her while walking backwards, but unfortunately for her she wasn't prepared to bumped into the other friends that were coming down the stairs. Kierra let out a a suppressed squeal as she fumbled forward and landed on her knees while the person she had bumped into also fell beside her. Kierra was about to apologize to him, but recognized the male instead.
"Aren't you supposed to be at your own school right now?"
Linna found herself at the furthermost building on campus and wondered why Hyunjin had led her here. Hyunjin held the door open for her and she at first didn't want to walk through, but stepped inside a second later. Once she was inside she moved off to the side so that Hyunjin could once again take the lead. She followed the male to the end of the hall before going through a door that led down stairs.
Linna didn't question Hyunjin as she was lazy to do so, but if he was trying to mess with her he had another thing coming. Hyunjin kept shooting glances behind him to make sure that Linna was still there. He figured she might have run off instead the chance she got, but she remained and he was relieved in knowing that. He just hoped that his friends wouldn't scare her off.
The duo could hear several voices yelling and cheering, but couldn't really make out any of the words. So when they arrived at the bottom of the stairs and could see what was going on, Linna was surprised to see Kierra amongst the rowdy boys. As for Hyunjin, he was surprised that his friends actually allowed a female into their hangout since it was usually just the nine of them.
Then again, he did just bring Linna although it was a different story since they all knew of his crush on Linna. Linna passed by Hyunjin to walk up to the group to see what game they were playing knowing that her sister couldn't resist such a thing. They were playing a fighting game and she forgot the name of it, but remembered that her older brothers played this often.
She nudged the lower part of her sister's back to get her attention. Kierra briefly glanced over her shoulder to see who it was and was surprised to see her sister.
"What are you doing here?" Kierra asked not really caring about her character getting beaten up while still pressing buttons to seem like she wasn't distract. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?"
"I could say the same thing about you. What game is this?" Linna inquired glancing at the screen again.
"Super Smash Bros for the Wii U."
"Oh yeah. Like for the Nintendo 64."
"Mmhmm. Wanna play?"
Linna shook her head before hunching over to whisper to her.
"So who brought you here?"
"Seungmin. Who brought you?"
"That guy that likes me."
Linna slightly motioned with her head towards Hyunjin and Kierra's eyes scanned over to where the male was.
"Ah, that Hyunjin kid you like to rant about, right?"
"Mmhmm."
"Anyways, look over to your left and see who's also skipping school."
Kierra indicated with her eyes as Linna glanced to her left and saw their neighbor, Jeongin, who was supposed to be at his high school instead of here at their college.
"Ohh, I'ma tell your mom you ditched school, Jeongin."
The younger boy's posture jerked in alert upon hearing his neighbor's voice. He turned around to cast Linna an innocent smile while everyone stopped playing and watched the interaction between the two.
"Linna. Hi. Today's a free day." He lied with a firm tone although his eyes were kinda shaky looking.
"Mmhmm. Then why are you still wearing your uniform?"
"Because I had no other clothes."
"Wow. What a liar."
"Then why aren't you in class right now like Kierra, huh?" Jeongin countered not wanting to get questioned on why he wasn't in school.
"I don't know her reason for ditching class, but that guy over there wouldn't stop passing me notes in class after confessing that he liked me." Linna replied while motioning over at Hyunjin with a slightly annoyed look.
All seven of the males' jaws dropped as they turned their attention onto Hyunjin instead and went to surround their friend.
"You finally confessed?!" They exclaimed loudly and Hyunjin tried to brush them off.
"Yes, but I'm trying to get back into her good graces."
"What did you do?" His friend, Jisung, asked with a concerned look.
"I bet it's because she won't forgive him for pushing her into the pool last night." Another friend, Changbin, reasoned.
"I didn't push her in to the pool." Hyunjin stated.
"Yeah, but you're the one that let her fall into the pool in the first place." Seungmin remarked. "And got her phone all wet."
"Shut up, Seungmin."
"Ahh, it's because he was hanging out with those other friends of his from primary school, huh?" Minho, another friend of theirs, piped up with a knowing look. "I knew they were sketchy when they started to hang out with you again."
"I knew it." Changbin agreed. "I should've gone to the party. At least I could have kept you in control."
"Control on what? You had to finish you paper for the class that you're failing." Minho reminded him. "You're lucky I even let you borrow my notes for that class."
"And I'm very thankful for the help, Minho."
"Is that why you couldn't come to Ayeon's party?" Chan asked realizing the reason his friend couldn't come.
"Yes."
"Anyways, let's get back to Hyunjin's love life." Felix interjected with a serious look. "I really wanna know how he'll win Linna's acceptance."
"I mean, I'm curious, too." Jisung agreed with a nod. "Although, he's been a jerk to her since junior high."
Before either of the boys could say something their attention was suddenly drawn to Kierra happily gloating.
"Yay! I won!" Kierra cheered happily as she watched her character doing a victory dance. "Go Isabelle! Even though I had no idea how to play you."
"Technically, you cheated." Linna reminded her with a smirk as Kierra nodded in acknowledgement.
"True, but I still won."
Kierra stood up and faced her sister.
"Alright, let's go home. My class got cancel and I'm craving some pizza."
"Nah, bro. We had pizza the other day because of the bros." Linna disagreed with a disgusted face. "Let's eat something else today. Oh, I've been craving for some rice cakes and ohh some noodles, too. Maybe we can go shopping and make rabokki before picking up Bennet at school."
"Okay, fine. We'll eat whatever you wanna eat then." Kierra complied with a wave of her hand as she was about to make her way towards the stairs, but stopped when she realized that the eight males were blocking the path to it.
"Oh, right. I forgot about you guys."
Linna elbowed her.
"Wow, that's rude."
Kierra shrugged in response.
"Aww, you're already wanting to leave?" Chan asked with a frown while his eyes lingered on Kierra.
Kierra leaned over to whisper to her sister.
"Hey, how about I distract them first and you escape first. Then I'll follow right after."
"Aww, don't be so mean. I think that guy likes you."
"Which one?"
"The one that just spoke a while ago."
"He barely met me. There's no way he'll like me like that."
"Didn't you mentioned that someone saved you from drowning yesterday?"
"Technically, I wasn't drowning, but he didn't know that so yeah someone kinda did."
"Then that's probably him."
"Why do you say that?"
"He keeps staring at you although his smile is fake because he's trying to respect your decisions."
"Y'know, I'ma leave you with this Hyunjin kid so that the two of you can figure out what's going on between the two of you."
"Yeah right. He's kinda annoying."
"Yeah, sure, okay. Maybe it's a type of love warning on your end."
"How so? More like a love warning on your end since you barely met that guy."
"Leave me out of it. You're the one that wants to date."
"True, but it'll happen when it happens. You're the oldest so you should date first so that I can get a niece or nephew."
"Okay, Nana. Like I want that right now."
"Hey, you never know."
"You're a jerk."
Linna gasped upon hearing her sister's word, but nodded.
"True. Still have the older bros to grant my wish."
Kierra scoffed. "Yeah, like that will happen with their bachelor life."
Jeongin interrupted the sisters' conversation.
"Uh, excuse me, but we're still here."
The sister's return their attention back onto the males.
"Okay, bye!" Linna exclaimed loudly as she rushed passed the group, up the stairs, and out of sight.
"This bitch." Kierrra muttered under her breath as she watched her sister run off.
Kierra was about to do the same thing, but Hyunjin ran after her sister causing Kierra to stopped from taking off as she didn't want to witnessed that situation between her sister and the guy that likes her. Kierra felt awkward while standing there until the boys suddenly split up to do their own thing leaving her alone with Chan.
"Okay, like that wasn't obvious." Kierra scoffed in a quiet tone with a small smile on her face.
Chan cast Kierra charming, yet awkward smile.
"Oh, would you look at that. It's just the two of us now."
"You like me, don't you?" Kierra asked him off the bat.
"Well, I don't really know for sure, but you did catch my attention and I can't seem to get you off my mind."
"Wow just like that? All because of me just from me falling into the pool and you trying to save me when I really didn't need saving."
"Um, something like that."
He let out a chuckle afterwards before bring a hand to brush his hair back out of nervousness.
"This is some love warning then." Kierra mumbled to herself with a roll of her eyes. "I hate her."
Chan let out a cough to compose himself.
"This is kinda awkward now that I think about it."
"You think?" Kierra asked in agreement.
Chan let out another laugh.
"Yeah, well, anyways, do you wanna grab some coffee?" He offered with a soft smile.
Kierra shook her head.
"No thanks."
Chan's smile dimmed upon hearing her rejection, but Kierra wasn't finished talking.
"I don't like coffee."
"Wait, what?" Chan asked confused.
"I don't like coffee." She clarified.
"Oh."
He let out as silence fell between them. Kierra broke the awkward silence between them and suggested something else.
"I do like bubble tea though."
There was another awkward silence before Minho yelled out something for his friend to comprehend.
"She wants to get bubble tea instead, idiot!"
Kierra let out a laugh with a nod of her head and agreed with Minho's statement.
"Pretty much what he said."
Chan finally realized the situation.
"Oh, yeah, yeah. Totally we can get some bubble tea instead of coffee." Chan agreed with a nod while letting out a sheepish laugh. “I don’t like coffee either.”
"Alright, let's go then."
Just as the duo were about to head up the stairs they were interrupted by Changbin.
"I want bubble tea, too!"
"Just text me what you guys want and we'll bring it!" Kierra told them with a smile before moving up the steps leaving Chan behind.
Changbin was smiling happily until he remembered something.
"Wait, I don't have her number."
"And Kierra doesn't have her phone either. I'm pretty sure she totally forgot about that." Seungmin added with a smirked.
Changbin let out a groan as Chan called out to him.
"Changbin, you still have my number. Remember?"
"Oh, right. Yeah, and thanks!"
"Yeah, yeah. We'll bring it back after Kierra and I have a good hangout time."
Chan bid his friends goodbye before following after Kierra with a laugh escaping his lips while shaking his head at his friend's behavior.
Linna let out a relieved sigh after getting away from the others once she exited the building. She was happily walking around contently until she felt a tug on her bag and almost stumbled backwards into someone.
"Hyunjin?!" She exclaimed upon noticing he was the one that pulled on her bag.
"Yes?" He answered happily with a sweet smile despite causing Linna to fumbled onto him.
Hyunjin helped Linna to stand upright as she shot him a glare.
"Is this another trick of yours?"
"What? No. It's not. I was trying to make sure that you didn't leave me again."
"Isn't it enough that I already passed notes in class with you and followed you to this hangout of yours for today?"
"No. I want to hang out more with you without my friends."
"You must like me that badly, huh?" She teased.
Hyunjin grew flustered by her words as he suddenly became shy.
"Aww, how cute." Linna cooed upon seeing his reaction.
"You think I'm cute?" Hyunjin suddenly asked as his whole demeanor suddenly turned charismatic.
"No. You're ugly." Linna deadpanned.
Hyunjin's jaws dropped in shocked upon hearing Linna's words. Linna chuckled at his reaction. She then spotted her sister and called out for her.
"Hey, Rara!"
Kierra turned her head and noticed her sister.
"What do you want, Nana?" Kierra asked, but not walking towards her and continued walking in the direction of the nearest bubble tea shop.
"Where you going?"
"Getting bubble tea. Want some?"
"Yeah!"
"Bring your friend because his other friend is coming, too."
Linna watched where her sister was pointing behind her and saw that the Chan guy was right behind her sister not that far a part.
"Okay, but won't we ruin your date?"
"It's not a date!"
"It's definitely a date!" Chan chimed in as he caught up to Kierra who nudged him playfully for what he had said with a slighly flustered expression on her face.
"It's totally a date." Linna reasoned with a laugh upon seeing their behavior with one another.
Upon hearing the word 'date', Hyunjin snapped out of it.
"Alright, let's double date!" He exclaimed as Chan agreed while hooking arms with Kierra. "Call! A double date it is then!"
"It's totally not!" Kierra disagreed as she nudged Chan again with an even more flustered look while trying to shake his hold off of her.
"It totally is!" Hyunjin cheered happily as he instantly hooked arms with Melanie while dragging her towards the other pair.
"Hey, who said it was a date?" Linna asked Hyunjin with a look a few seconds later.
"I did." He answered with a bright smile. "So did Chan and now you and I can have a nice conversation and get to know one another better."
"Psh, yeah right. You still haven't told me why you've been an asshole to me."
"It's because you said you didn't care about it earlier."
"Oh, right. Whatever."
Linna tried to free her arm from Hyunjin's hold, but he held onto her arm firmly.
"Clingy, aren't we?" She remarked with an annoyed tone, but Hyunjin brushed off her words with a laugh before answering. "I need to make sure you don't run away."
"Usually it's Kierra that does the running away and I'm the one that prevents her from doing so." She mumbled before casting a glance in her sister's direction where she was chilling and talking to Chan coolly still with her arm linked with Chan's.
"What was that?" Hyunjin asked upon hearing her say something, but not catching what she had actually said.
"I said you're paying for me." She lied.
"Okay." Hyunjin agreed without hesitation.
"I was kidding."
"Oh, well, then I'll treat you today and you can treat me another time."
"What makes you think there will be another time?"
"Oh, trust me, Linna. There will be another time once you and I get our bubble teas in a bit."
"This is a little too much all in one morning."
"Don't worry, it'll be noon and then evening."
"You're making it sound like we're gonna hang out all day."
"Mmhmm."
"Why would I do that?"
"Because I get to hang out with you and you'll also get to know if you'll need a new phone or not."
"Wow."
"It's a win-win situation for all of us."
"Whatever you say, Hyunjin."
Linna brushed off his words although she was kinda slowly falling for his dumb charms. One little date couldn't hurt, especially if he was treating more than once.

No Worries
Idol: Anne (GWSN)
Prompt: What's up, Is it possible to write a scenario with Anne from GWSN, where her group meets her S/O who's a famous rapper from aomg? Please, Thanks if your able to!
Writer: Admin Kiwi
A/N: The very first GWSN thing on this blog, I’m so excited! There aren’t many gifs for my girls yet but I’m sure that will change as they get more popular. Also, why am I posting this at like, 2am my time? Because I have a weird sleeping schedule after surgery please don’t judge me. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy, and stan GWSN!
Tumblr media
Today was the day. Finally, Anne was going to introduce you to her friends, and she could not be more nervous. Sighing, she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Even though she knew most of them were dumb, she had a lot of worries. What if they didn’t like you? What if they got the wrong idea about you? What if you guys didn’t get along?
She squeezed her eyes shut and gently slapped her cheeks, telling herself to snap out of it. She knew you were nervous too, which was to be expected. Anyone would be nervous when meeting their girlfriend’s friends (or, in her case, the girls were more like her sisters). But you’d texted her the night before, reassuring her that everything would be okay. And deep down, she was sure it would go okay. She loved her bandmates, and she loved you, and she knew they would be happy for her. Still, she couldn’t help being a little bit nervous....
Her phone buzzed and she opened her eyes to a text from you on the screen.
Today’s the day! I have a question though.
She smiled and picked up her phone, fond as she typed back a reply.
I know! I’m trying not to be nervous lol. What is it?
You replied almost immediately.
Me too tbh, but let’s be positive! Anyway, I’m still working on something last minute and my manager will kill me if I don’t get it done. Do you guys want to meet me at my studio before we go get food? I don’t want to leave you guys hanging.
She thought for a moment, pretty sure that the girls wouldn’t mind dropping by the studio. Honestly, they’d probably be pretty excited to see the inside of AOMG.
Let me check and make sure but it shouldn’t be a problem.
As she was placing down her phone, there was a knock at her door and she looked up as Seoryoung opened the door.
“Are you ready?” One last look at her appearance and Anne nodded, looking back at her leader.
“I am. I have a quick question though.” Seoryoung raised her eyebrows, a clear sign for Anne to go ahead. “(Y/N) just sent me a text asking if we wanted to swing by their studio at AOMG before we go since they have to finish up a project they’re working on.”
“Sounds fine to me. Want me to check with the other girls?” Anne nodded and Seoryoung gave her a quick thumbs-up before disappearing again. Taking a deep breath, Anne picked up her phone and looked at it for a moment before slipping it into her pocket and grabbing the rest of her things. She could do this.
When she got into the living room area where the rest of the girls were waiting, SoSo hopped to her feet.
“Are we really going to AOMG?”
“If you guys are okay with it, yeah. We can look around a little while (Y/N) finishes up what they’re working on.”
“We’re good with it,” Seoryoung said with a smile. SoSo grinned and quickly checked her appearance one more time, obviously excited even as Lena laughed beside her.
“I’m honestly still surprised you’re really dating (Y/N). They seem too cool for you,” Minju said, and Anne chose to ignore her, focusing instead on Miya, who slipped her hand over Minju’s mouth to keep her from talking anymore as she looked at Anne.
“They’re sure it’s okay for us to be there?” Miya asked, seeming a bit nervous. “I mean, since we’re from a different company and all.” Anne nodded, quickly sending you back a text.
“It should be fine, otherwise (Y/N) wouldn’t have mentioned it.”
They’re okay with it! Is it okay if we head over now?
Yeah! My studio is on the second floor at the end of the hall, remember? I can’t wait to see you.
The fond smile made its way back onto her face, and Minju giggled.
“You’re so cute, unnie.”
“Oh, hush. Come on, let’s go ahead and get going.” Smiling, Seoryoung moved into the front, her arm looped loosely through Seokyoung’s as she led the girls out and away. Anne lingered at the back, eyes back on her phone.
I feel the same way.
-
Even though Anne had been to your studio before, there was a certain amount of excitement that still came with walking through another company. Her bandmates had all fallen silent, taking in their surroundings with wide eyes as Anne took the lead.
It was probably her imagination, but the elevator seemed to take longer than usual that day. Still, soon enough she was walking down the hall towards your studio. When she reached the door, she stopped and quietly looked in the window. You were looking down as something, but you didn’t seem to be actively recording or anything so she raised her hand and knocked gently.
Immediately you were up and rushing over to open the door with a wide smile.
“Anne! I was just about to text you to see where you were.” Smiling, she reached out her hand and you took it, intertwining your fingers with hers affectionately.
“We’re here now,” she said, voice a little bit softer than it had been when she was talking to the girls earlier. “I hope we aren’t interrupting you or anything.” Quickly, you shook your head.
“No, no, I’m just finishing up some things. I have to send the songs I made out to the right people and finish an email but that’s all honestly. I finished up the last song a few minutes ago.” Then you turned to look at the rest of GWSN, who had been watching the exchange with silent smiles. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you all. Why don’t you come in? It’s small but we can make it work.” You stepped inside with Anne by you to let them in, and once everyone was inside, Anne cleared her throat.
“Let me introduce everyone. (Y/N), this is Miya unnie, Seokyoung unnie, Seoryoung, Minju, SoSo, and Lena. Everyone, this is my partner (Y/N).” You smiled and waved, and the rest of the girls smiled brightly back.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, (Y/N),” Seoryoung said, stepping forward. “Take good care of our Anne, yeah?”
“I will, I promise.”
“Then we approve,” Seokyoung said, grinning and reaching forward to playfully ruffle Anne’s hair, making the younger girl whine.
“Don’t let us distract you from your work though,” Miya said, gesturing towards your still-open laptop. “We can wait while you finish.”
“Thank you, Miya,” you said, giving her a grateful smile. “Go ahead and make yourselves comfortable, I’ll be done soon.” The girls quickly pulled back towards the couch in the corner of the room, and you tugged Anne towards your desk, pointing out the extra chair. “Give me some strength?” Giggling, she followed you.
“Of course.”
“I still can’t believe they’re dating,” Minju muttered under her breath, looking at the wall with all your achievements displayed. “This is crazy.”
“They’re so obviously in love though,” Lena said, clasping her hands together and smiling. “It’s like something out of a drama.”
“It’s cute,” Miya said with a grin, sitting down on the couch and shooting Minju a look. “Be nice, Minju.”
“I’m always nice.”
“Sure.”
“I like (Y/N),” Seoryoung said suddenly. “I think they’re a really good fit for our Anne.” There was a quiet chorus of agreements from the other girls, and Anne knew that if she could hear them, you could hear them too.
Her theory was confirmed when you grabbed her hand again to give it a quick squeeze.
“See?” You said, voice quiet and eyes still on your laptop, but a smile on your lips. “I told you that I would all work out fine.” Smiling, she glanced back at her friends, who tried to look as innocent as possible.
“I guess we had nothing to worry about after all.”
“A love as strong as ours should never have to worry,” you said, and she looked back at you.
“You’re cheesy today.” Grinning, you turned away from your laptop and the email you’d just sent.
“Yeah, but it’s true. I love you.” She knew you did. Ignoring the fact that her friends would probably tease her later, she leaned over to press a quick kiss to your cheek.
“I love you too.”

On HYRK, Nobuhiro Watsuki, & The Future
I’ve recently posted an update as the news broke about Nobuhiro Watsuki. This was after conversations with HYRK’s main admin @Whiteplum, a few hours after her decision to close down HYRK for good. As of writing this, the blog is still open for people to view and remain updated on any more news but in the meantime both her and I have received messages from loyal RK fans - many expressing disappointment and sadness to see us go, and others that have calling us selfish and condemning our decision as damaging to the fandom. I want to write this post to make our stance very clear.
This will be the last post I make on the topic of Nobuhiro Watsuki and for the foreseeable future, the last post I will make about Rurouni Kenshin so if you have any opinions on the closing of the blog or the cessation of production on any of my Hiten Encyclopedia projects, you will be referred back to this post.
Rurouni Kenshin has been in our lives for more than a decade. I can speak for myself that my daily life is insanity. I am currently working on a short film which is a lot of hard work. I have to get ready to move across states, deal with the stress of getting work in the field I want to get work in, a wife,  and so on, but even in adulthood more than 10+ years later, Dragonball and Rurouni Kenshin remain cornerstones that define my life. These stories have been incredibly moving, poignant, and genuinely wise - the themes are usually so deep that I recite some lines to myself in adulthood when I get overwhelmed. This series will always be special to me, and I know I can say the same for @Whiteplum and a majority of the followers of both myself and HYRK.
But this isn’t about Rurouni Kenshin anymore. This isn’t about Nobuhiro Watsuki either. His act is disgusting and deplorable, but let’s not suffer delusions: the illegal industry and practice he indulges in only exists because we live in a world unfortunate enough to have a market for it, a market which he is/was an active patron of. This “industry” makes a profit off exploiting young children in the most hideous of ways and for that, I hope he receives justice.
As creatives, and as well as hosts and contributors to a fandom that actively celebrates work that provides a living for this man, we have both concluded that it’s best for us to bow out and step away from platforms that, at the very least, indirectly supported this man monetarily.
We DO NOT condemn anyone who chooses to remain in the fandom. We understand that Rurouni Kenshin largely exists independently of Watsuki and his actions. I believe that it’s a personal decision whether or not one should continue in this fandom after recent events, but I also believe we are entitled to that decision ourselves. We do not actively wish to promote, discuss, give a platform to, or associate ourselves with a product in which it can be presumed to have been used to fund illicit acts that come from the exploitation of children and we will step away for the time being. It is an issue we’re both passionate about, and we both feel it is our responsibility to make this decision for our respective blogs.
I wish sincere good to come to all members of the fandom who chose to stay or not, and I hope that the lessons Kenshingumi have brought to us remain in our hearts and make us all the best people we can possibly be, and thank you so much for supporting HYRK and Hiten Encyclopedia for the duration it ran. It’s been a wild ride, and we sincerely love each and every one of you and hope that you can understand our decision.

Under the cut you can check out all the players that have been accepted for their roles. Congratulations!  Please take a look at the instructions at the bottom of the page. For those who haven’t been accepted this time around, don’t be discouraged! Send me a message if you want more feedback on your application and I would love for you to re-apply in the future! Congratulations again to all of you and Welcome to Darkness’ call!
⦃Suzie, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Anastasia Burke.⦄ The idea of a pureblood working with the Death Eaters and sharing their ideals but not being directly involved with them always fascinated me. And you managed to depict that perfectly! Your Anastasia is intriguing, subtle, perfectly avoiding every pureblood society woman clichés that often appear when it comes to this kind of character. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for her!
⦃Thomas, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Severus Snape.⦄ I can’t believe we’re starting off with a Severus already. This, first of all, makes me really happy. Honestly I loved the depth you managed to give him. The whole story behind his ways and his personality was very moving, and the in character questionnaire was fantastic. I could hear his voice in my head while I read it! Amazing job! (Also, vox machina right back at you!) A message has been sent to you regarding Face Claim changes.
⦃Faaya, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Lorcan D’eath.⦄ I always find Lorcan to be a character full of opportunities and you my friend, seized them all. You didn’t stay focused only on his career or the fact that he’s a half vampire; but instead you went beyond that and gave him a personal life, a complex set of relationships and some strong convictions to go with that. Honestly I can’t wait to see him in action.
⦃Harleigh, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Rabastan Lestrange.⦄ That biography, those headcanons, those cheeky in character questions! Be still my admin heart. Your application was a pleasure to read. It’s obvious you’ve been playing this character for a while because the connection you have with him is absolutely fantastic. I must say Rodolphus can’t wait to have his little brother around. I’m sorry in advance for what poor Rabastan will have to endure.
⦃Mare, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Sirius Black.⦄ The details on this application Merlin’s beard! Everything was flawlessly explained, everything fit into place. My favourite part to be quite honest was the questionnaire. You nailed Sirius’ voice and the apartment question put the widest smile on my face. Apparently we’re starting with an almost full marauders set, so I can’t wait to see what shenanigans are in order!
⦃Lily, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Remus Lupin.⦄ First of all, let me healthily envy your name for a bit. Now that that’s over, I was blown away by your interpretation of Remus. He’s always been a character very dear to my heart and I’m always thrilled to find someone who sees him similarly. The headcanons were hilarious, the other extra information was detailed and flawlessly put, and the question about insomnia had definitely one of the best answers I’ve read. I can’t wait to start roleplaying with you!
⦃Becky, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Narcissa Black.⦄ Unique, original and spectacular interpretation of Narcissa. Funny, witty, provoking; but without losing that air of coldness and finesse that only Narcissa Black could project so well. You gave me something I wasn’t expecting on your application and I absolutely loved it. Fantastic job! I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for dear miss Black!
⦃Annie, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Alecto Carrow.⦄ A lawful evil Alecto? Sign me in! As soon as I started reading your application I knew I was in for a treat. Her relationship with her brother was beautifully developed and I love her occupation. I’ve never thought of Alecto doing something like that but after I read about it I can see why it absolutely fits and complements your interpretation of Alecto. I can’t wait to see her in action. Your Face Claim change has been approved.
⦃Amanda, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Fabian Prewett.⦄ This application was simply adorable. You said you had a strong connection with Fabian and that’s absolutely obvious from the very beginning. The biography and the mock blog were beautiful, but by far the questions were my favourite part. It’s amazing to see a Fabian so well balanced between his shy personality and his mischievous Prewett ways. Congratulations!
⦃Mia, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Mary MacDonald.⦄ I really enjoyed reading your application. It’s got a very refreshing take on Mary and that’s my favourite thing. The headcanons you provided were amazing! I’ve got a soft spot for the cat one, it a really creative way to turn the given rumour into a headcanon of your own. You made Mary feel very real and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for her! Your Face Claim change has been approved.
⦃Rachel, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Amelia Bones.⦄ As someone who has played Amelia before and loves her as a character, I must say I was so glad when I started reading your application. Your interpretation of her amazed me since the very beginning and it only got better. The questionnaire was fantastic, you totally nailed her voice. And as a sidenote, I love the quotes you chose for her! Excellent job! I can’t wait to see her in action!
⦃Gwen, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Emmeline Vance.⦄ Your application was one of the sweetest I’ve ever read. I especially enjoyed the biography, and how detailed you were about Emmeline’s past and her relationship with her family. The headcanons were also amazing, and they showed you obviously have a strong connection with her character. You made her come alive and she felt very real to me. I can’t wait to start roleplaying with you!
⦃Lacey, you’ve been accepted to play the role of James Potter.⦄ I don’t really evaluate the applications for their graphic/edits content because I know not everyone is skilled at Photoshop but I still have to say your mock blog and edits were positively lovely! Now that’s out of the way, I swear I could hear James’ voice (however that sounds) in my head while I read your questionnaire. This one was a hard choice because all the applications were extremely good, but your characterisation blew me away. Amazing job. I can’t wait to plot some jily with you!
⦃Aman, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Alastor Moody.⦄ Moody is without a doubt one of my favourite character of the Marauders era. He’s so full o possibilities. I adored your interpretation of him! I especially enjoyed how you put all the in character questions in context and how his character changed accordingly. It was a very creative way of showing his personality. Congratulations! I can’t wait to see him being the fierce fighter he is!
⦃Ash, you’ve been accepted to play the role of Antonin Dolohov.⦄ Wow. You mentioned at the beginning of the app that you were stepping out of your comfort zone this time and boy, that you did. You took risks, and they paid off completely. I was absolutely mesmerised with your application. On a side note, I adored the three options you gave for Antonin’s occupation so whichever you choose will be splendid. I can’t wait to see him in action!
Again; congratulations to all of you and thank you for showing an interest in this group! Now that you’re here, this is what you need to do next:
Follow everyone on the MASTERLIST
Track all of the tags (found HERE)
Make your character account send it in within 24 hours

Key Points
- Mary Vesta Macdonald was named by her grandmother in order for her no to hate her father. Her second name was the one her parents wanted to give to her. They were both brilliant, university professors - her mother in mathematics, her father was a hellenist. Mary grew up surrounded by books and her father read her the odyssey to sleep. Mary was impressed by them, but though she very much intended on having a brilliant career just like them, Mary did not want to be like her parents. She was shy, they were shameless and she would die if she acted like them. She was interested in everything, in everyone. They were proud. They were great the way they were, but Mary wasn’t good enough to get away with acting like them.
-When she got her letter from Hogwarts, her parents couldn’t believe it. They didn’t, in fact, and when the letters kept coming they ran away until a professor came in person to confirm : magic was real. Her parents had no intention of letting her go to Hogwarts. They fought. She insisted. Eventually, they backed down.
- When she got to the school, Mary was truly lost. She didn’t know anyone and apparently some people hated her just for who she was - she felt desperately alone. Her parents were right, and she wished she had listened to them. Then, she met Lily Evans - a muggleborn just like her, clever and funny and everything you could wish for in a friend. Lily Evans brought Marlene into her life, and they simply got along - she felt like they understood each other. She wanted to spend every hour of her day with them, and she would. She decided that Hogwarts would be worth it if she got to go through it with them.
In third year, Mary started hating James Potter. Or, in other words, she feel in love - with Lily Evans. It was the worst time in her life, incredibly confusing and painfully and full of shame once she realized what was happening, but eventually, after a great deal of effort and starting to befriend the boy she hated - James, not Severus, she wasn’t that desperate - she got over it. It was the first of a long streak of intense, secretive and somewhat traumatizing crushes.
In her teenage years, her relationship with her parents wasn’t great. They didn’t understand them, and didn’t even try to - in fact they refused to talk about anything magic with her. She later found out that they were afraid of making a fool of themselves, and even more of losing their daughter to a world they could never be a part of. However, at the time, she did not know that, and Mary assumed the worse. She spent most of the summer holidays reading every book in their library or taking day-long trips, exploring her town and everything beyond. The other holidays she chose to spend at school.

Para Sample-
“I started thinking about fighting back very soon after Mulciber’s attack. The thing is, I was so afraid at first, I just wanted to make myself as small as possible. To fall in line, somehow, even though I know that nothing makes people like that content as long as I continue to exist. And once I was out of that place of pure fear, I rebelled against that instinct. I was dying to fight back, so I wrote a few pamphlets about blood purity,  tried to get them out there and started looking for ways to show my opposition from my place in the school - I just wanted to take my anger and make it into something productive, really. And when you put yourself out there you start hearing about other people - making connections and learning about the ways you can get in and with whom you can get in. That made be think a lot, I’d become someone known for this, for my actions, someone people trusted enough to talk to me about these. It was very surprising once I realized what was happening, and I had to think a lot about the responsibility of it, and of course  about the dangers. I thought about my parents, who I hadn’t told any of that to until then, so I came back home for the holidays- something I usually never did - and we talked about it , a lot. It really helped me get some distance and understand my situation, and I had never talked about that aspect of the wizarding world to my parents before, so that was a very important, very hard discussion. They weren’t thrilled about sending me to Hogwarts so at first I was afraid they’d pull me out of the school, and then I got used not to tell them and our relationship wasn’t great during that time anyway. There was just a whole part of my life, a very hard part of  life, which they had no idea about, and I felt like I was alone to deal with it… Talking to them was amazing and my parents were always very insightful, and also incredibly brave. ANd they have that will to fight - not to accept a bad situation - so they encouraged me to do my part and they gave me very concrete information and advice, too, which really helped because it was the first time this started to feel like a real, concrete project. It was exhiliarating, but obviously also very scary - not only because of the dangers but because that means people would rely on me. I decided to wait until after graduation to seek anyone out and I used the rest of my days at school to spot other allies ,and meet people ,and learn other information about the ways we can fight, making the most of my time. Hogwarts was a great place to learn because there was this kind of absence of danger - obviously there was some dangers, but I knew the perpetrators would be punished, and there was never any danger of death whereas out in the street anything could happen. When I approached the Order I knew exactly what I wanted to do and how, I think that helped the process a lot. And then I just started working, and it was different from just hearing from it, in theory, but somehow it was also easier. Once you’re doing it, you don’t feel any fear, it just becomes normal. It’s only when you step back and think about it that you realise that you are putting yourself in danger, so I try not to dwell on it.

Fortune teller. Reading coffee grounds (Bahiras story). Bahira first, what a coffee cup you have! full of art and vibrant colors jumping from it, orange-yellow and red are everywhere. I am sensing you have a lot of competition, someone is competing with you, tall short hair curly hair tanned with a scar on his left arm I am sensing. It almost feels like HE is competing, but he is competing to draw your attention.
Your coffee is full of energy and very creative. Creativity pays off for you, and specially at the end of next year, around this time in November 2019. Your professional life and your personal life will come to a full circle by next year. Yes, as much as you can’t believe it, a huge project is in the works for you. Greater than you ever expect.
Bahira, a month and a half ago I sensed a person came into your life, out of nowhere, somehow this person is causing you right now some issues in which later they will develop to bigger ones. Be careful, do not commit as I see you stopping your career for this person.
If you want more details regarding this person, blonde fair hair color. This will stop you from stepping into your zone in the future as you might get comfortable. You constantly question a lot of things, I see your thoughts, somehow you are afraid to do some personal steps.
There is a great temple in your coffee, Bali or Thailand, get ready for this unexpected holiday soon. Somehow you are drawn to bananas, not sure if it’s in your diet or if you have an issue with eating bananas, but I see it as an issue. It is not very clear as I just start seeing this.
Money is all around as in you owe money (Who doesn’t these days), but with the new project I mentioned above, I see a study in something greater. This will happen the same time with the project next year.
Fortune teller
Between now and in the next 3 months I see 3 – 4 short trips, in 5 months I see a new car. You are somehow linked to a letter B, male, not from here, overseas. You will finally find love by next year, and things will be so different for you, that you won’t believe it.
This coffee reading is full of hope, love, caring, worrying for others a lot, somehow a little anxiety hits here and there, but everything will make sense when you will reach the top of the latter by next year.
You have psychic abilities, but I believe you don’t know how to control it. This has caused you judging people wrong. What I mean by that? You might think people are awesome, well not the ones who have approached you from the past. You seem to be so humble and give people your trust straight away, then people use you, and you get somewhat disappointed.
This is your turn off point in any relationship. Once you lost that sparkle and trust, you are pretty much gone. This is not negative in any way. Avoid seeing someone secretive at night, I can see that in the next few months.
I don’t want to shock you, but I might as well tell you, that I see you been wanting to have a kid, but that will come as I said with the relationship next year. You might say no right now but trust me it’s in your coffee cup. There is a minor renovation happening in the next month and a half, like a specific room getting renovated. I believe this is a project of yours you had for a while now and its coming to life.
Reading coffee grounds
Bahira you think that there won’t be any future for you, but boy oh boy, little do you know what’s around the corner for you! There is a secret superstar in your genes. I must be honest with you, this coffee is so blessed, amazing, vibrant, only your doubts are stopping you, and some particular people who don’t want you to succeed. The sky is your limit by the looks of things.
Either you or someone in your family will get fame. As I believe this is a superstar’s coffee cup. Only thing I would suggest don’t hold from the past, let it go and look ahead of you. As we all mature and learn from our life lessons, we can become better people, and trust me you are achieving this.
All you got to do is, sometimes don’t trust your gut feeling, as I believe you get to excited with people, and you don’t think clearly. I somehow hope that this reading made some sense to you. Any questions or comments please feel free to ask at the end of your coffee article.
All Readings will be published in English from now on, you can select your preferred language to translate and understand with Google Translate.

A little history of Tasseography (also known as tasseomancy or tassology) is a divination or fortune-telling method that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds, or wine sediments.
The terms derive from the French word tasse (cup), which in turn derives from the Arabic loan-word into French tassa, and the Greek suffixes -graph (writing), -logy (study of), and -mancy (divination). Spring Pouchong tea (Chinese: 包種茶; pinyin: Bāozhòngchá) leaves that may be used for tasseography divination.

I have to say, I have been going through some blog, review, writing and beauty transformations this month. It has just turned Spring in Australia, and the weather is warming up and you can feel it in the air. I am a Sagittarius, and I prosper around this time of the year, so I honestly didn’t find it surprising at all that September was a productive month for me with lots of changes. It can be VERY HARD to change your patterns and ways because personally, for me, I get anxious I am going to mess thing’s up, and somehow, not be able to go back (I know, weird). However, this month everything has just gone the way it has, and once I let go of that control, fear and sense of normalcy and routine, I started to try different things, and different ways of doing things, which just lead to more and more changes. I feel like I now have a completely new outlook, and in the future, I am going to be more open to change.
First thing’s first… I upgraded my plan to wordpress business class, and my god, it’s SOOOOOO GOOD. I can get any plug-ins or themes I want, which was my main reason for wanting to change. I wanted more flexibility and freedom, and the ability to present my content in a neater, informative way.  The best part about upgrading to business is that I am still on the wordpress.com platform, meaning I don’t have to self host and can stay on the platform that I have came to know, and love.  I am used to navigating wordpress.com, and the thing I have adored about it from the start is how simple and easy it is. The whole concept of wordpress.org and self hosting has confused the absolute hell out of me ever since I knew it existed, and when I looked into it for the fifth time, I was still as confused as the first time I researched it. I was JUST ABOUT to pay someone to help me migrate, when I decided to check out information on the wordpress.com Business Plan that I have had my eyes on for a while. After reading about it, and analysing and deciding if I wanted to pay the price, I made the decision to choose to stick to wordpress.com and to pay to upgrade, and let me tell you, I AM SOOOO GLAD I did!! If I chose to migrate, I know I would of regretted it, and would of probably then had to migrate back here, which would of cost me a lot of money in the end. When it comes to website technology,  I am really bad. I don’t want the fuss, I don’t want to do everything myself, and quite frankly, I don’t want to mess with anything too complex when it comes to IT. It is a nightmare to me. Another thing that made me hesitant to move to self hosting is the fact that when you move to wordpress.org and self host, it’s all on you.  Sure, you do have the support of whatever hosting site you choose, but you still have to manually update stuff, manually protect your site, etc.  I have enough trouble getting content out in time, and this coupled with my difficulties with IT, I knew I just didn’t have the capacity, or patience, to do it alone.
The plan does cost extra, around $350.00 AUD a year, but to me it’s so worth it. I have a whole year to save up $350.00 AUD to pay the plan, and it’s amazing. WordPress Business Class is pretty much the equivalent of wordpress.org, except you get to stay on this platform. Anything that you can do when you self-host, you can do with wordpress.com business, meaning you get all the benefits of self hosting but still have the ease of having everything done for you, and support at your fingertips. I have been premium for a long time, and whenever I have had trouble all I do is instant message an engineer on here, and I have a response within a minute. It’s just so easy, so convenient and as I said, I am just so in-love with wordpress.com . I am still learning about plugins, etc, but I am finally starting to get the hang of it. One of my favourite plug-ins are table plug-ins. I have one by Supsystic, and I can create beautiful tables with data content which allows me to present everything more neatly. There are a million other plug-in’s too, but I am taking it one step at a time and focusing on content at the same time.
Here are some screenshots of the differences in admin/dashboard with the WordPress.com Business Plan
A big motivation for all the changes I have made is that I have FINALLY…. FINALLY……. GOT A PHOTOGRAPHY SET-UP that works for me! Let me tell you, It has been a massive, journey that has taken me years. The thing is, you can get advice from others, watch youtubers who show you their set up and how they do it, but everyone has a different house, different space and it’s a learning process. Everything in the beauty world in terms of blogging and photography is a journey that you have to do alone. No one is going to tell you exactly what they do, which is why I always failed when it came to trying to copy other people’s set up. This and I wasn’t taking into consideration my personal space and the room I have to dedicate to this space. I have also started to use a magnification mirror, which before I would of been scared petrified off (yeah, they go right into an inch of your face and show every pore), but they show you what’s going on. I can’t do my makeup without one now, and my review’s are way more accurate because I look in multiple mirrors from different lighting, including through a magnification mirror (these cost $10.00 off ebay btw). My Cannon Powershot SX510 HS is soooo old, and doesn’t have a view finder, so I use my magnification mirror to see what my camera is focusing on. If anyone want’s to know more about my set-up, let me know.
I have obviously slightly changed my method of writing, I am reviewing and testing products for longer periods of time to produce more thorough, informative reviews. I am not going to lie that in the past, I have got a product, tried it for a day and then made up my opinions on it. This doesn’t mean that I have ever not been honest, it just means that I have rushed through things in order to get post’s published and out on time. I’m having a hard time getting post’s out now, and I do feel anxiety and pressure, but I am no longer rushing the process. I am now treating products like I would treat a science project. I want to analyse every aspect of it. As a result, I have started doing products individually. For example, if a collection comes with 2 liquid lipstick’s and 2 highlighters, I am most likely going to do the highlighters and liquid lipstick’s in seperate posts, whereas before I would of put the whole collection in one post. I do have products backed up, and I am so slow now that some products I had planned on doing, I am no longer going to do (aka, I got the Kylie Cosmetics Birthday Collection Lip Products, but I have had so much to do, and so many other products to do, that I have decided to pass on it now as it’s not relevant when half the collection is sold out). I hope soon that I find a perfect balance and can get posts out quicker, but I am not going to skip over anything in order to do that.
As a result of all these changes, I have stopped obsessing over every SINGLE new release that comes out, which will be relevant when I post my newest anti-haul post, which is in the works. I have hardly been checking Trendmood’s instagram lately, and I will probably miss out on something I do want soon, lol! I have to say…. I used to just buy so much new stuff all the time… Even if I hated it, because I thought, oh-well, if I don’t like it, at least I can talk about it on my blog. At this point,  I am sick of acquiring products that I never even touch after the first go, and my work-load is so big now and I have such a back-load of products to work on, that I simply dont have the time to buy stuff I know I hate!
There isn’t going to be many disruptions or changes in the type of content I post, just how I do it. One thing I do know is that I am probably not going to be able to get as many Beauty News Posts out anymore. I just have so many actual products to work on that it’s getting hard for me to keep up with beauty news, and as you probably know, Trendmood on Instagram is literally the queen of updates, and is the only one you need to follow to get updated!!!
That’s about it for this post babes, I usually don’t write personally posts like this because I don’t want to bore ya’ll, but I was in the  middle of writing my Anti-Haul Post for September 2017, and I got on a massive tangent about all the changes I have made that it just made sense to make this it’s own post so I didn’t hijack that post completely lol!!
Thing’s that I am in the process of doing/ Ideas I have include……
I am going to make a seperate page for all types of products – highlighters, liquid lipstick’s, etc- that will compare prices, formula’s etc, in a more simple, informative way. I have to actually create a page template to have it formatted the way I want, which I can do through a million Plug-In’s, but this takes time to do and I am trying to do it in between of everything else. I also have to manually plug everything in, but once I get it up, it will be up so I am just trotting along at the pace I am.
A Lip Swatch Page that will contain all my lip swatches formatted in a way that you can compare more easily.
I would also like to create a better, more interactive community. I can actually get a plug-in that allows me to have members, and I am thinking of doing product give-away’s like this.
A massive thing I want to do is make a page where I can write about cosmetic chemistry and compare formula’s of different products. If you have tuned in to my previous posts, you will know that I like to chemically analyse products, and I want to create a page where you can click to formula’s and a comparison of the list will come up, with shared ingredients highlighted, etc. This will take me a while to get together, but it will come.
Normal posts- Fenty Beauty (Trophy Wife + Metal Moon Highlighters + one of the duo’s and 3 shimmer sticks) , Tarte Blush Book Swatches (and a review to follow), Kylie Cosmetic’s Matte Lip Kit Review + Re-Swatch , MAC X Nicki Minaj Lipstick’s, Spectrum X Mean Girls Collection + September 2017 Anti Haul, Nars Powermatte Liquid Lipstick First Impressions + More).
+ Other thing’s like that to make my site better to navigate for you all. I might eventually change my theme, but as I mentioned above, change can be scary and it’s one thing that I am a bit on the fence about because I like how everything is lol!!
P.S, I just want to show you how many DRAFTS I have. I work on soooooo many post’s 24/7 and it get’s a little crazy!!
Updates on My Blog, WordPress Business Plan, Photography Set Up + New Writing Style!!! (Personal) I have to say, I have been going through some blog, review, writing and beauty transformations this month.

Devon Forrester-Jones Interviews Elena Brake
Tumblr media
D: What things do you do that aren’t art?
E: That’s quite interesting because I feel as though art has taken over my life. I do things like playing the violin and I’ve been learning bell ringing, and almost always with my hobbies I think you could argue that it is art. Because my art is about everyday life, it’s really hard to separate my life from it. I would say even when I’m cleaning my house or cooking my dinner I am, in a way, making art.
D: Why do you enjoy those things?
E: Some of it is about getting to know myself, and maybe having a bit of control.. Sometimes it’s about being with other people. Sometimes it can be quite social things that I enjoy doing. If I’m bell ringing it’s about socialising but the ordinary chores are more about taking control of my own life.
D: And what’s your ideal situation for showing work?
E: I think something really bizarre and unexpected, somewhere somebody wouldn’t expect to go for art, where maybe they just stumble across it. I love the idea of doing a show in a laundrette or hairdressers, but keeping it as a functional space. So somebody comes into a hairdressers to get their hair cut but they can also experience some art or performance work. It would be a situation which blends life with art.
D: How would you describe your practice?
E: Light-hearted. I don’t take it seriously, and I don’t take myself seriously with my art because I feel like not all art has to be serious. So it’s usually quite fun. I usually lets people get involved in some way or touch the work, so it crosses those traditional boundaries I think. Some people find it uncomfortable but I play with that. So if people are finding my work funny that’s one thing, but some people do find it uncomfortable.
D: In what way?
E: Well, I suppose it’s being invited to touch something in an art gallery, when you’re taught not to touch things.  Suddenly being asked to throw those rules away and do it anyway, or become a pivotal and central part of the work... I think that can be quite difficult for people.
D: What ways do you have to keep yourself productive?
E: Good question!  Doing things like establishing routines - I write a lot of lists. I try and check things off my lists as often as I can. I also accept the fact that my levels of productivity will have ebbs and flows.  Being okay with that actually makes me more productive because I’m not being hard on myself when I should just be just getting on with it.  I’m just trying to find the balance where I can be a person and live my life and also make art and get the other important things done, like writing emails and general art admin.
D: Why yellow?
E; Another good question! It emerged accidentally. I needed to pick a colour for an umbrella in one of my pieces, and originally it was going to be rainbow coloured. My tutor pointed out that rainbows have connotations of the LGBT scene and that isn’t what my work is about, so I chose yellow as vibrant, but gender-neutral colour.  It’s such a bright, happy colour while also being the colour of warnings and hazard signs, you can’t really put it in a box. So I think people approach that colour with a bit of ambiguity and they are forced to read into it themselves, deciding if it’s a “warning yellow” or a “smiley face emoji yellow”. It’s now become a bit of a signature thing which is fun to try and stick to.
D: What piece of your own work felt like a turning point in your own practice to make it what it is now?
E: I think I have to say the turning point was the final piece I did for my second year, 10 Minute Encounter. It’s only been shown once, at the end of a project in a gallery space. We had the space for a week and we had the freedom to create work that was really big. All of a sudden I could come out of my sketchbook and I had room to play. I had 9 CRT televisions on a shelf and I recorded my hands clapping individually, one for each screen. At the end what I had was this everyday action that became something else. People had to walk down steps and sit down on a bench to watch the TVs. Then I shut the gate so they were forced to sit and watch the entire thing. They became like a caged audience from the outside but you couldn’t see what they were watching. I realised what I was trying to do was play with people’s emotions in response to ordinary moments. The work was just my hands clapping but somehow that was putting them in a really awkward position. After that piece I realised what all my work was about and I wrote 10 pages in my sketchbook which pinned down some of the main points of exactly what I was trying to do.
D: Can you think of anything  you would do as a child which, thinking about it now, it could be classed as art?
E: Yeah, quite a lot of the things I used to do because my work is so playful. I used to play imaginary games and all sorts of things. One thing that is standing out to me right now is that I used to walk along the edges of shadows of trees at playtime. Obviously they would move so I would walk over the lines of the shadows over and over again, and just being really focused on it and on it moving. It’s almost a performance piece.
D: What’s next?
E: I don’t know, honestly.  I’ve got a performance of Metal Detectives coming up on Saturday and things will probably come out of that.  At the moment I’m simmering a lot of ideas and trying to think of ways to produce work without having much space or much time. Immediately, it’s figuring out how that works and how I continue a practice that has been quite big or at least, how to contain that. I’ve got a lot of figuring out to do and potentially planning for bigger things and seeing what happens. I think work will come out of collaborations - a lot of the people who will be performing in Metal Detectives on Saturday will probably have ideas that I will get involved with as research for my own work.
D; Awesome, thanks for your time!
