Our Little Sunshine
Masterlist
A/N: this will be a three part intro to the parents au by @somewillwin enjoy!
Their decision to have a child had been meticulously planned, after 8 years together, 5 of them being happily married, they both knew it was time for a new chapter of their life.
Having a kid wasn't something they thought about lightly, there were steps involved and new diet plans needed to ensure the baby had everything they needed to grow healthy and strong. Folic acid, leafy greens, no fish high in  mercury, Poppy and Bea learned everything they could about keeping the body healthy for their baby to grow.
Poppy in particular had read and researched everything she could about child birthing, and the like since she would be the one carrying the child. Bea had done her own reading about caring for one's pregnant wife and feeding habits of babies preparing herself to wake during the nights so Poppy could sleep.
They worked in unison until they felt knowledgeable enough about everything, then got to talking with one of Bea's cousins asking him to be a donor and he had gladly accepted.
A total of 9 months of Bea running around getting Poppy everything her heart desired, within reason of course. She had craved a lot of spicy food so Bea had made sure she got them for Poppy when she did or she would be faced with her wrath. Poppy was even scarier when she was pregnant, and luckily for Bea she only had to witness it once. Never again.
Poppy became very clingy during her second and third trimester and Bea took every opportunity to milk it as much as she could before Poppy's mood switched and she got annoyed with her by simply breathing too loud beside her. But it was love, Bea was absolutely sure.
It was nearing the due date, and they were cuddled on the couch, their hands both resting on Poppy's belly feeling the little kicks, then Bea felt Poppy tense.
"I think my water broke." Bea froze.
"What?" Poppy turned to Bea eyes wide.
"My water broke!"
"Oh shit." Bea rushed them as fast as she safely could to the hospital. They had a bag already packed with essentials they needed when the time came luckily.
Poppy was wheeled to the maternity ward, her vitals being checked as well as how far along she was with contractions. She was in the beginning stages so she was sent into the labor room to wait until they became consistent.
During their wait Poppy made sure her face was impeccably beat, wanting to take pictures and post them later. She was still going to look hot, giving birth ugly was not an option for her.
"What?" Poppy checked her make-up in her compact mirror, making sure she looked good glancing over to Bea who watched her by the chair.
Bea sighed with a smile on her face just watching her.
"Nothing, I just think you're beautiful." Poppy laughed, crooking her finger for Bea to come closer. Bea grinned wheeling herself over to Poppy's bedside.
"You said that yesterday." Poppy's hands snaked over Bea's shoulders looking face to face at each other, a fond smile on both their faces.
"Yeah well it was true yesterday too." Poppy smiled, kissing Bea softly. Poppy couldn't wait to start her family with Bea. And she really couldn't because the moment she thought it the contractions started to get stronger.
Bea sent a quick "👶🏻 incoming!" text to their friends and family just as the nurses entered and got Poppy ready.
"Ma'am I'm gonna need you to calm down." Big yikes, Bea only held onto Poppy's hand, keeping silent as she watched Poppy whirl her head to the nurse looking to combust the nurses head with her glare.
"Don'T FUCKING TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!" Bea winced as Poppy absently crushed her hand in her grip. Bea continued to hold it, not too keen on letting go from the last time she had done it. Poppy had cried the whole day about being abandoned.
"Ma'am please its not good for the baby if-"
Bea gently squeezed Poppy's hand placing a hand on her arm as Poppy almost looked as if she would tackle the nurse.
"I swear to whatever god is up there, if anything happens to my daughter you will never find a fucking job AGAIN!" At the last word Poppy screamed another contraction rolling through her.
Poppy took controlled breaths, looking at Bea who smiled at her kissing her forehead, her breathing becoming calmer.
"You're doing amazing, baby." Poppy smiled wincing a bit as another contraction came and was prompted to push.
"Breath slowly." Bea's eyes widened looking at the nurse who spoke, shaking her head. Stoooop. She was just starting to calm down.
Poppy gave the meanest side eye as she was given oxygen hissing out her response.
"Is THIS slow enough for you?"
Bea gave the nurses around a pleading look and they nodded letting Bea do all the work in calming her wife down.
Poppy was just about ready to push the baby out, and she turned to Bea with tears in her eyes and sweat on her forehead holding onto Bea's hand tightly.
"Bea, it hurts so much." Bea's eyebrows furrowed in deep concern brushing Poppy's hair away from her face, she hated seeing Poppy in pain.
"You're doing great, baby." Poppy gripped onto Bea's hand as she took short breaths, focusing on anything but the pain pressing her forehead into Bea's neck for comfort. "Just one more push, okay?" Poppy gave a small nod.
Bea wiped the sweat on her forehead as Poppy pushed one last time with one final scream, a loud cry answering her back.
"Congratulations, it's a beautiful baby girl."
Poppy sighed, her body sagging in exhaustion from the whole ordeal but her arms outstretched as far as she could to the nurse cleaning up their baby and handing her to Bea.
She watched Bea gently hold the bundle in her arms, a tearful smile on her face as she slowly walked to Poppy gently putting their child in her arms.
Bea kissed her sweaty temple, resting her head next to Poppy's own as they looked to their child in wonder, their hearts melting at the sight.
They were parents.
"She's beautiful." Poppy gently traced her finger along their baby's eyebrows. Smiling wide as their daughter gave a tiny yawn, eyes still closed.
Bea hummed.
"I mean…” Poppy nudged Bea with her elbow eye still entranced by their daughter resting on her chest. Bea chuckled and grinned. “Of course she’s beautiful, looks just like you when you get worked up. See how red she is.” Poppy rolled her eyes glancing at Bea before returning her attention to their baby girl.
“This is our daughter you’re referring to.” Bea chuckled, kissing Poppy's head and snuggling close.
“I know, my two little tomatoes.” Bea smiled goofily, her hand gentle as she caressed their baby’s head.
“Mrs. Min-Sinclair Nakamura Hughes.” Bea snorted at the long name uttered by the nurse, who was still shaking from the first few hours of birthing. “If you could, would you like to say the name you picked for your baby?”
“Lily Min-Sinclair Nakamura Hughes.” Bea whistled but smiled, already thinking of placing a tattoo of the flower next to the Poppy already existing close to her heart.
"Wow, a fancy name." Poppy smiled tilting her face up into Bea's jaw placing a kiss there.
"It's our name." Bea grinned.
"True, but I mean you could have just taken my name you know." Poppy scoffed a smirk on her lips.
"Not a chance,Farmsville. I come from a long line of royalty, the Min name stays." Poppy flicked her hair over her shoulder and Bea sputtered as the hair hit her face.
"Okay okay, sheesh."
The nurses left them to their devices, when a knock came at their door as Poppy was breastfeeding. Bea opened the door and smiled wide.
"Where's my goddaughter!" Zoey cheered quietly as she came through the door Veronica and Chloe right behind her with gifts and a carseat that Bea had just noticed they had forgotten to bring as they had rushed here.
"You're a lifesaver Zoey." Bea hugged them and Poppy smiled  from the bed, still breastfeeding, still a bit tired from the birthing.
"I got you boo." Zoey smiled walking over to Poppy and squealed, taking out her phone to snap some pictures for the gram.
"Ew she's like, so wrinkly." Chloe blinked inching a bit closer to see the little baby as she set the fruit basket down. Poppy sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she gently handed Lily to Zoey.
"Chloe, I swear to god-"
Bea smiled from where she stood just watching her friends practice holding the baby with Poppy watching them like a hawk and giving them tips.
"Veronica! Support her neck!" Poppy hissed. Veronica awkwardly held Lily with Zoey placing her arms under just in case. Chloe just continued to look at the baby like it was an alien.
"What neck, she literally doesn't have her bones connected yet or something."
Bea chuckled, she couldn't wait for what this new chapter had in store for them. But through it all, Bea knew she and Poppy would get through it together.
"She really does look like a raisin Poppy, just look at her." Poppy sighed rubbing her temples as Chloe held Lily.
"Bea, stop her." Poppy whined calling her over. Bea laughed walking over to press a kiss to Poppy's forehead sitting by her side.
With friends like these by their side, Bea really couldn't wait to see how Lily would grow.

Tiptoe - Poppy x MC

Taglist: @somewillwin @uhh-the-green-thing @jmojellybae @simp-pony @made-me-deep-blue @uselesslesbianfr @it-lives-in-braidwood-manor @belvoiresqueenbee @alexlabhont @samanthadalton @crazzyplays @sparring-hyena @baexpoppy @cloakanddaggerthings
Summary: Poppy and MC meet in summer and they were dating but broke it off, not related to free falling dhaisja don't ask about ch3 idk either.
A/N: uhm hi I've been a ghost for like months lol but I heard from a little birdie that queen b is coming back in September and I'm so ready to clown for my wife Poppy again. Based on song below which is a bop. I also did not check my spelling or grammar I die like a dumbass. My one braincell would like to thank u all and Gabi for this fic 💗
There's hardly anything in this world that captivates you, until you see her. Her flawless skin, her blonde hair and those deep chocolate orbs that you just want to stare at and drown in forever. Who knew such a beauty existed? It boggles you to know that the Min-Sinclair heiress is perfect. One might say that you're jealous but deep down you know that's not the case. Jealousy? No, it's not jealousy, you're enthralled by her. It's not even because of how fucking gorgeous she looks, it runs deeper than that. There's just this weird sense of kinship that you feel when you look at her. She's more than the ranking, she's vulnerable and actually cares, something you saw when you went to the animal shelter.
The way her eyes sparkled when she saw the rescue animals, the way her mouth curved into that gentle smile. Who knew the queen bee of Belvoire had a heart? Her vulnerability is further shown when you realise that the golden girl of Belvoire has her own scars, her pride a by-product of the hurt caused by family and so called friends.
Having seen the forefront of it all, Belvoire is cutthroat. Everything matters, the clothes you wear, your family name. It's a free for all, no one cares who gets burned, low blows exchanged, it's all a big mind game and those who fall under pressure lose not just their reputation but everything they have worked for. But apart from all of that, she's still the first thing that makes you smile.
It's damning, the way your mind and heart races at the thought of Poppy. The way her eyes light up when she flashes that gentle smile, where one look is all it takes to make your knees weak and the blood rushing up your cheeks. You've never seen such a beauty, her smile is like a soft ray of sunshine, warming you up. However, she's also as mysterious as the moon, especially since she acts so sweet and the next minute she's as cold as ever. It's enough to give you whiplash.
Such gentle and delicate features, yet her personality is as fiery as the sun, I guess it's true what they say, the sun is beautiful yet staring at it can become painful.
It's confusing as to why Rosie's fallen so hard for Poppy, they've been rivals from the start, with each other's goal to come out on top. Things have definitely changed after the night they slept together, Poppy's words have no actual bite to them. If she were brave enough Rosie would've called Poppy out on it, but she's so confused on where they stand that she doesn't want to risk this newfound "friendship" if one can even call it that.
It suddenly hits Rosie like a brick. 'Wait, has Poppy been courting me in her own weird way or am I imagining shit?' She becomes more confused as Poppy seems to stare at her longer than she ever did, sometimes Rosie would meet eyes with Poppy who seems to have a longing stare as if she has so much to convey yet has no courage to do so. Sometimes it gets to the point where Poppy blushes after she realises that both of them have been staring at each other for too long. Both of them being a flustered and blushing mess, looking away as if they've been burned from getting too close to a fire.
Most people in Belvoire would argue that its not longing and wistful glances that the two are exchanging, they'd say that those were intense glares formed from the ongoing rivalry that the two have established in public, but anyone who personally knows Poppy and Rosie would say differently. There's also an ongoing bet between the students of the school. Some argue that Poppy and Rosie are secretly dating whilst the rest argue that they absolutely loathe each other and the ongoing stares are to intimidate each other to give in and leave Belvoire.
Zoey and Veronica are secretly in cahoots in which they bet that the two are definitely dating or in Veronica's words "those two are definitely fucking" which earns her a fond smile as well as a roll of the eyes from Zoey. Chloe suspects something between Poppy and Rosie, considering they genuinely don't seem to put energy behind the insults they throw at each other. She doesn't think that the two are lovers but she definitely thinks that they're secretly friends.
It's not until Veronica sees Rosie wink at Poppy when she thought nobody was looking, and she was certain that the blonde would glare at Rosie but imagine her surprise when Poppy flirts back by winking back. In which she's all too excited to text Zoey about. "Omfg bitch, you won't believe what I saw today, like holy fuck the two gays were flirting when they thought no one was looking." All she gets in response from Zoey was "show receipts pls."
Rosie can feel herself falling for Poppy, both of them know that things have changed. Neither seem too interested in fighting and when they do argue, it's all for show, after all no one knows that they're secretly pining after each other. She suddenly remembers how they met.
-Flashback-
Being relatively new to New York, Rosie was eager to meet new people and what better way to start off than hooking up with strangers from a random bar? After all, the city was big and it's been a while. As soon as she arrived someone immediately caught her attention. One Poppy Min-Sinclair, dressed to the nines, she was definitely Rosie's type. Not really expecting anything Rosie struts towards her, in hopes of beginning a conversation.
At first Poppy seemed uninterested, scoffing and she felt a presence near her. She didn't really want to deal with anyone considering they're usually just random guys who wanted to hook up in the bathrooms or worse they're drunk as fuck trying to flirt with her. However, imagine her surprise when she looks at the person that dared to sit by her. Poppy would be lying if she said that the girl in front of her wasn't her type. She seemed sweet, and had a gentle smile. It was also a bonus that the girl seemed to know how to dress herself.
When their eyes met, there was this lightning spark that just fit into place, the two had chemistry. It was undeniable, the two just knew how to push and pull. The banter was there, so was the attraction.
Poppy wasn't shy about showing her attraction, obviously checking Rosie out, which earns her a low chuckle from the other girl. "At least buy me dinner first before you undress me with you eyes?" said Rosie with mirth dancing around her eyes, whilst Poppy just laughs, soft and languidly slow. At which point Rosie knew she was screwed, the blonde in front of her looked like she just walked out of the runway, and her laugh was definitely something Rosie wanted to hear more of.
She's pulled out of her epiphany once Poppy speaks, voice sultry and pulling Rosie in like a siren. "My name is Poppy Min-Sinclair, and I do what I want sweetheart." The confidence she exudes is shown in her voices. It's addicting the way the blonde presents herself, every move calculated and poised. Every word that leaves her lips is deliberate and elegant in her own unique way. If she was in her right mind, Rosie would've been terrified by how enraptured she was by this girl in front of her.
Rosie wasn't one to back down from a challenge therefore she decides to tease the girl in front of her. "Is your name supposed to be important? I've never heard of it. Anyways, since you've introduced yourself so nicely, my name's Rosie." Poppy just raises an eyebrow at her semi-surprised that the other girl hasn't heard of her. "Sorry babe, the whole world doesn't revolve around you." said Rosie with a cheeky smile and wink and before Poppy can retort Rosie finishes off by saying "but it definitely should revolve around you, I mean look at you, you're mesmerising."
If it were any other person, Poppy would have definitely rolled her eyes and walked away, but Rosie seemed to mean it. The other girl definitely looked like she wore her heart on her sleeve, and it was just so damn endearing that Poppy, against her usual M.O., she decides to stay and talk to the other girl. 'She looks cute enough, but if she's gonna be annoying then I'll just ditch her later.' thought Poppy.
Both women were intrigued by each other, and one thing led to another. Before they knew it they were together in a hotel room. Neither of them cared about who made the move first, all they knew was that they had to have each other one way or the other.
Despite her pent up desire and lust, Poppy still cared about her reputation, after all even if she was on break it didn't mean she can be careless, plus she didn't exactly want to expose Rosie to Belvoire's dirty laundry, the girl seemed nice enough and Poppy wasn't about to mess with this girl. Sure she's a fucking bitch but that doesn't mean she wants people to suffer because of her unless they've wronged her or any of her friends in some way. She's petty but she's not that petty.
God knows Belvoire is a shithole.
They're definitely closer than what should be conceived as acceptable, considering Rosie is literally one step away from kissing Poppy. Not like either of then cared considering they were too focused on each other to pay attention to their surroundings. It's only when the bartender coughs that the two pull away from each other as if taken out of their seemingly lulled state.
Rosie's about to say goodbye, considering the blonde seems like she's torn between leaving or staying, but she's caught by surprise when Poppy yanks her arm back. "Where do you think you're going, little lamb? I didn't say I was done with you yet." The way it was said was enough to make Rosie shiver. The way the Min-Sinclair heiress said it so confidently, it didn't help that she looked to be the epitome of lust and desire at that moment, but from then on Rosie knew she was fucked, both literally and figuratively.
Before she knew it she was pulled into a car headed to the nearest luxury hotel, which just so happens to be a presidential suite at The Ritz. Rosie didn't show but she was shocked. She knew the girl was rich, I mean come on her clothes are fresh off the runway and the blonde exuded power and wealth. But this was like a bucket of ice water being dropped on Rosie's head, this was definitely something she wasn't expecting.
NSFW AHEAD
She's taken aback by the inside of the hotel suite, she expected it to be fancy, but nothing could prepare her for the plush king sized bed, as well as the overall layout of the room. It looks like something straight out of an IKEA magazine, Rosie can't help but think.
"Well, are you just going to stand there or are we actually going to fuck?" says Poppy. Rosie is taken aback from how bluntly Poppy put it. Speaking of which, the blonde girl is already half way through removing her clothes. She couldn't help the gasp that escapes her as she gawks at Poppy and the way her body looks so perfect, unblemished milky white skin that looks so soft, all Rosie could think of is leaving marks in her wake. She licks her lips in anticipation as Poppy gives her the come hither gesture, and Rosie is immediately lured in, like a moth drawn to a flame.
Her hands immediately raise up, helping Poppy out of her clothes, until all that remains is Poppy's underwear. Her eyes scan Poppy's body and out of the corner of her eye she can see Poppy's satisfied smile. Rosie is pulled in, her body pulled in flush against Poppy. Her eyes dart over to Poppy's lips as she leans in to kiss Poppy. A hand covers her mouth as she hears "Not yet Hughes, it's unfair if I'm the only one in my underwear."
Rosie's ears are definitely bright red at this point and she's pretty sure that her whole body is flushed, but she gives Poppy a show as she takes each article of clothing slowly, piece by piece as if testing Poppy's already short patience. As she takes her blouse off, Poppy's staring at her so intensely she can feel her legs wobble. The look conveying an unspoken promise. It's enough to make her a little self conscious, but her confidence is regained as soon as she sees how flushed Poppy is. It also helped that she saw Poppy gulp, looking at her like she's the only thing in the world. "See something you like, Min-Sinclair?" she can't help but tease and the blonde rolls her eyes.
"You were doing so well until you started speaking. Just get your ass over here. I'm not used to waiting for things I want." said Poppy. Rosie struts over to Poppy.
She's immediately back at Poppy's side, the Min-Sinclair heiress looking her up and down which makes Rosie nervous as the way Poppy stares is intense. Her doubts are quickly quelled as she's soon tugged harshly the collar. Poppy pulls her in roughly for a kiss, as their tongues dance and weave against each other, battling for dominance. They both step forwards towards the bed, and the noises that come out of Poppy is irresistible and music to her ears. She sounds incredible and Rosie can't get enough and with a flick of her tongue Poppy is putty in her hands.
They both fall towards the bed, Poppy ending up under Rosie. They pull away quickly to catch their breath, and Poppy's eyes are blown so much so, her pupils are dilated like a cat ready to catch its prey. Her lips parted and bruised, taking in oxygen as if all of her breath has been taken away. If Rosie thought she was in charge, she's got another thing coming. Their position is switched, as Poppy expertly flips them over, landing her on top of the other girl. Rosie ending up with her back against the bed as Poppy straddles her. "You're a good kisser, Hughes." she says and Rosie smiles mischievously "I try." she replies.
Poppy's quick to kiss Rosie again, as if she's her only lifeline teetering her to the world. Every kiss shared feels like sparks flying, the intensity and passion leaving them both breathless. It's not like Rosie's gonna give in and let Poppy top her, she quickly pull Poppy by the waist, bodies completely flushed against each other before rolling over so that their position is once again switched. This time Rosie comes out on top.
Before the other girl can complain, Rosie's quick to shut her up but trailing kisses from lips to her neck. Poppy smells like fresh cherries and vanilla, which for some reason is very fitting. After all cherries are sweet but the fruit itself can be dangerous, however there's a hint of danger. After all cherries do have cyanide in the seed. The whimpers and moans that come from Poppy's mouth are sensual and spurs Rosie on even more. She can't get enough of the blonde.
She can feel Poppy's nails taking across her back, and she's sure that those are definitely going to leave marks, not like she minds considering she's too far gone from the sound of Poppy's moans and whimpers.
Rosie looks at Poppy and she can't help but admire how beautiful Poppy looks under her, eyes half lidded and chest heaving. "You look better when you're quiet, Princess." said Rosie, but instead of reporting Poppy just pulls her back in and their lips are clashing against except this time its rough. Poppy pulling and tugging at her hair, while leaving small nibbles on her lips. Rosie knows that her lips are going to be all sorts of red and bruised the next morning.
Rosie's hand finds their way to the waistband of Poppy underwear, and she can feel the wet patch. She slides her hand inside and moves her fingers to find Poppy's clit, where she rubs small circles, and she feels the blonde jolt from the sudden contact and Rosie is about to apologise until she hears Poppy's breathy moans. "I swear to god, if you stop I'm going to fucking kill you." whimpered Poppy.
Rosie just smiles against Poppy's skin as she continues teasing Poppy until the other girl is a panting and whimpering mess. "I need your fingers inside me Hughes, stop fucking around and actually start fucking me." It's said so desperately Rosie finally grants the blonde her wish and starts pumping her fingers in and out until the blonde cums, back arched away from bed and a loud and filthy moan is all the can be heard. Rosie helps the other ride out her orgasm by cooing gentle words and leaving kisses that are definitely going to leave marks on the Poppy's unblemished skin.
-NSFW END-
-FLASHBACK END-
The casuak hook up turns into dates and outings, and both of them start to catch feelings for each other. As much as it surprises Poppy she genuinely enjoys the time that she spends with Rosie. The other girl always making sure to make Poppy smile. It doesn't help that Rosie had this weird way of knowing when Poppy was upset or stressed in which she'd always do something to help the blonde feel better. Rosie's become a constant, a home away from home in a sort. Always there even on Poppy's worse days, not giving in even when Poppy's relentlessly cruel and bitchy. If she weren't so fucking smitten Poppy would have thought that Rosie was a Saint considering how patient she is. However, she refuses to confess her feelings to the other girl first, after all she's a Min-Sinclair and they don't confess ever. People confess to her.
They're both stubborn, therefore they both refuse to even acknowledge their budding feelings for the other. Though there have been too many times where Poppy has gotten jealous when people stare too much at Rosie, though it's reserved and usually subtle. Poppy quietly stakes her claim by always having some sort of physical contact with Rosie. It could be something as simple as a hand on Rosie's forearm or wrist. But the real warning comes from her passive aggressiveness when others get too close to Rosie or the glares that are given if anyone is dumb enough to try and flirt with the other girl.
It's not like Rosie is any better. Whilst Poppy is subtle with her jealousy, Rosie is not. She's always quick hold Poppy's hand as if to signify that the blonde is hers and it's even worse if anyone ignores that. She becomes more physically affectionate. She hugs Poppy as if her life depends on it. There's also been a few times where if Rosie's patience was tested she'd get really jealous and the next time they're intimate she always leaves marks where no one but her or Poppy knows. It's also when she becomes quite dominant in the bedroom and it genuinely entertains Poppy so much so it's become her second favourite past time. The first definitely being their intimate moments.
It gets to the point where both of then get so frustrated they confess how they feel that the same time, which becomes one of their inside jokes considering they both felt like idiots for not confessing their feelings sooner.
However, it's not like summer lasts forever and both of them end up breaking it off, since Poppy actually likes Rosie and she refuses to put her through the shit that goes on in Belvoire. "It was fun while it lasted, Hughes, but I'm sorry. I have to go back and I'm not sure I'll ever see you again." said Poppy, voice cold as ice as if the whole thing didn't matter. Poppy would be lying if she said that it meant nothing, considering she's never been happier. The other girl definitely had a special place in her heart but as they say if you really live someone you have to let them go. She might be cruel but she's not about to fuck Rosie's life up by involving her in the stupidity of Belvoire, she deserves better. Maybe after unibersity she can find Rosie and they can try again.
Rosie's quite sure that she's never going to find anyone that makes her feel the way Poppy does, but she's not one to make things more complicated. "I'm glad I met you Poppy Min-Sinclair, it's been fun while it lasted. Maybe someday we can meet each other again."
Imagine her surprise when it turns out that Poppy attends Belvoire, both of them shocked to see each other again. The only difference being that Poppy seems much colder than the one she met before. Her eyes didn't have that shine or hint of mischief. It looked too detached. "What are you staring at?" said one of the girls following Poppy. Her eyes widened in surprise as the person her roommate Zoey warned her about was Poppy. She's barely acknowledged by Poppy as she just walks away without a word.
Things start to get more complicated as both of them are put against each other, as they compete for the top spot. It's not like Rosie really cared about the fucking thing, in all honesty she didn't even want to compete with Poppy but it's not like she had a choice considering no one cared that she didn't want to compete with Poppy. It gets to the point Rosie avoids Poppy altogether, not really wanting the unsolicited drama with the other girl.
It becomes even worse when rumours start that th reason why the two girls avoided each other like the plague was because Carter was cheating on Poppy with Rosie, and this gets blown out of proportion during the football game in which the screen shows a poorly photoshopped photo of Rosie and Carter kissing.
The way Poppy looked at Rosie broke her heart. Poppy looked tired and upset. She looked like she was betrayed and worse of all the look was directed at her. It's made even worse when Poppy wordlessly looks away, tears on her eyes as she runs to get away from the stadium.
Things change when Rosie chases after Poppy. It's the first time she sees Poppy cry, and it breaks her heart because how can she be so foolish. This was the person she fell for, and it sucked because she was the reason why Poppy was upset.
She approaches Poppy carefully, and as soon as she's noticed. Poppy's eyes narrow into a glare. "What do you want Hughes? Haven't you done enough already?" she yells, her voice full of venom. The words sting, but Rosie marches on, as she apologises. "I know I'm the last person you want to see, but I wanted to say I'm sorry. You didn't deserve all of that." She reaches out to try and comfort Poppy but she stops as remembers that she's the reason Poppy was crying in the first place. They both stand there in a tense silence, both not wanting to speak until they both say something at the same time. "Why didn't you tell me that you go to Belvoire?" they both say in sync.
Rosie lets Poppy speak first. "If you said that you were going to be attending Belvoire, maybe things would have been different." she says and this catches Rosie's attention. "Different how?" she asks and Poppy looks at her eyes softening as she says "I would have admitted that I was falling for you."
That's how they got back together.

Pt 2: The Date
Friday night had arrived and Bea’s nerves were at an all time high. She practiced breathing exercises that conveniently popped up on Youtube, there was no room for thoughts other than that of a blonde cheerleader. The buzz of her phone prompted her to jump up in excitement.
1 message from Poppy🙄
Poppy: I’m 99% sure that you haven’t forgotten about our “date” tonight. But if you did I’m not here to remind you. I’ll be here in 5 minutes. Remember, dress casual. ❣
A familiar grin crept its way onto Bea’s lips as she reread the message about twenty times, taking note of the heart at the end. It may seem conventional, but even that was a lot coming from Poppy. Another message popped up which induced a smirk from the brunette.
Poppy: No, I am not driving the Benz.
Bea set her phone down and spun around to check herself out in the mirror. She wore black ripped jeans with a red plaid design in the holes, red converse, and an oversized grey and black long sleeve. This should definitely fit Poppy’s definition of casual, right?
The blonde arrived outside of Bea’s house just as she reached the front door. Poppy was the first to react, her jaw threatening to drop open as she took in Bea’s appearance, all of it. Luckily, she was the queen of poker face’s and masked her thirsty expression….Bea on the other hand, failed horribly. She stood there wide eyed, her hands hanging uselessly by her sides as she studied the blonde. Poppy wore a white and pink checkered wool skirt, a knitted pink sweater, and a white crop top. Her jewelry also dazzled brightly against her neck. The blonde watched Bea amusingly, “you can quit ogling me now...:”
Bea darts her eyes away self consciously. “Your uh...jewelry is distracting.” Really Bea. Nice going. She winces at her excuse and Poppy arches an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the flustered mess of the brunette in the moment.
“Hmm..well come now. I don’t like to waste time.”
Like a puppy being offered food, Bea follows Poppy into her silver Range Rover. She gapes at the pristine interior and the stars on the ceiling. “I thought those star things only existed in Rolls Royce’s.” Poppy smirks appreciatively, her fingers flexing on the steering wheel, “Oh they do, but I have my ways.”
Bea tries to convince Poppy to tell her where they’re going, but she scoffs immediately, not even turning her head in the brunette’s direction. “It’s a surprise.”
“I didn’t take you for a girl that likes surprises to be honest.”
“Well then there’s a lot you don’t know about me, Hughes.”
Bea fought the urge to ask Poppy to elaborate, to tell her every last detail about her. What flavor of ice cream she liked, what she loved to do on a rainy day, but there’s that moment of insecurity  that pushes her away from indulging in those thoughts. She didn’t want to seem overly-interested.
But maybe that’s what Poppy wanted.
The sudden quietness becomes obvious and Poppy peers over at the brunette, “I could always let you test drive this one. Maybe brush up on your driving skills?” Bea side eyes Poppy suspiciously, memories of Monday night’s driving lessons infiltrating her mind. “I can’t tell if you’re being serious right now..”
“Of course I’m not! You don’t think I remember what you did to my other baby?! You’re lucky you were hurt in the process, otherwise who knows what I would have done…” Poppy glances quietly over at Bea, her eyes carefully scanning the scar that sits on her forehead.
Bea smiles sheepishly, her hand reaching up to move her locks back. “I don’t think I wanna know- wait hey! What do you mean I was lucky-”
“Oh please, you were lucky that I took you to a hospital. You are crazy Hughes, you know that?”
“Crazy for you? Well now that you mention it…”
Poppy rolls her eyes but can’t stop the smile that erupts on her face. “...Just let me take a look at it later. I need to make sure it’s healing right.”
“Whatever you say doctor!” Bea mock salutes the blonde which earns another heavy eye roll, emphasis on heavy, but she didn’t mind. The opportunity to be less than an inch away from Poppy’s luscious lips again? Hell yes.
“Okay, but what did your dad say? I’m sure he understood it was a complete accident.”
“Mhm tell that to the insurance company. Which reminds me, you will be receiving a bill in the mail sometime next week for all the damages.”
Bea nearly leaped out of her seat as her head snapped towards the blonde, who looked like she was having a great time. “Pop...you’re joking right...that is a thing you are doing right now.” Poppy rolls her eyes with enjoyment, letting out a soft chuckle. “Don’t get your panties in a twist, Farmsville, I know you can’t even afford a tire.
 “Wha-...hey!”
 ***
After continuous bickering which almost prompted Poppy to unlock the passenger side door and kick Bea out...psychically, while they were doing 80 on the freeway, she eventually pulled into a parking lot. The only main source of light was the huge sign illuminating the words, “Animal Shelter”. Bea blinks in confusion for a few seconds before realizing she was the only one in the car. Poppy had already started walking towards the entrance, greeting a man with a….smile? Oh yeah, Bea was definitely curious now. Poppy actually looked relaxed when Bea had finally caught up with her. The blonde noticed her approach and hummed to herself, “took you long enough, hurry lets go inside.”
“Pops-did you take a wrong turn...this is an animal shelter...”
The blonde rolls her eyes so far back into her brain as she grasps onto Bea’s words. “No I did not take a wrong turn you imb--.....this..this is the place I picked.” The brunette flicks her eyes continuously between Poppy and the entrance before shrugging, a surprised expression on her face. Before Bea could say anything else, Poppy grabs her hand and pulls them into the store and into the column where cute puppies reached for them. A beautiful smile immediately lit up Poppy’s features as she bent down to pet one of the baby bulldogs. This gesture immediately enraptured Bea as she watched...Poppy? Or whoever this was.
Not wanting to disturb the moment Bea leans down to the cage next to her and picks up the golden retriever who happily licks her face. “Woah okay there boy, a little too much tongue.” She holds up the puppy as he barks playfully and wiggles in her arms.
“I’m definitely not complaining about your destination of choice, but can you tell me why you picked it?”
Bea gazes over at Poppy who looks like she’s in her true element. The blonde sighs and stands up, brushing her skirt down. “Well my parents own the place…and well to put it bluntly, some of these animals don’t have much time left.”
She turns towards Bea, watching her safely caress the puppy in her arms, and smiles, “I figured you have a close connection with animals and would want to make them feel loved before they go.”
Bea watches Poppy with a warm look in her eyes, and it was funny because Bea had been around the cheerleader a lot, but this...was different. Almost incredible. And Bea knew that this was the start of a feeling that she would never get enough of.
 “I would. Thank you.”
The two girls spend a good amount of time playing with the animals. Poppy helped Bea feed newborn strays with a bottle of milk, more than often grabbing a hold of the brunette’s hand to steady the slight tremble. Bea didn’t want to admit she was nervous because Poppy was very close to her. And Poppy would never admit that Bea was doing everything right, but she wanted to hold her hand because it felt incredibly soft for a girl who worked on a farm everyday.
But she wasn’t the only one who was very observant that night. Bea kept her mouth shut about the situation, but this new side of Poppy blew her mind. There was so much to ask, to say, but the moment was too valuable to ruin.
The time seemed to go by quickly as the shelter started to close down. The time they spent with the animals felt fulfilling but Bea never missed the solemn look on Poppy’s face as she watched one of the older cats rest peacefully. There was so much to learn about the girl, and Bea thought it was best that she kept this date going.
 Food. That could work.
“Hey pops...I know I said you could pick the place but there’s somewhere else I want to take you. If you’re up for it.”
If it was anyone else, Poppy probably would have cussed at them for taking up too much of her time. But this was Bea, and something in her couldn’t say no. “As long as it doesn’t involve you and I in a forest alone.” The brunette laughs easily, wrapping her arm around Poppy’s waist without a second thought. “Oh please, do you really think that’s how I’d get rid of you?”
Poppy seems to lean into her touch, letting her strawberry blonde locks brush up against Bea’s cheeks, “I doubt you’d be the one getting rid of me darling, but sure.”
 ***
“....Alright I take it back! I’ll even let you drive the car because I am not eating at a diner.”
“Oh come on, they have the best milkshakes in town!”
The brunette drags Poppy towards the diner without letting go because if she did, Poppy would probably scream bloody murder in the middle of the lot.
Bea led her towards a booth in the back, only then freeing her arm. Poppy plops into the seat after realizing there was no way she could charm her way out of this. “Don’t look so bummed out, you’ll change your mind when you try the famous strawberry milkshake.”
“I have never had a milkshake in my life.” Poppy visibly cringes, her posture stiffening at the thought of a sugary liquid infiltrating her body.
“Well today is your lucky day baby.” Bea winks at her and calls over a waitress who seems too comfortable with laying a hand on the brunette’s shoulder. It wasn’t evident whether the severe blush on Poppy’s face was because of Bea unknowingly using a pet name or because of the mystery girl who decided to do the most in her presence.
“We’ll have the regular Tasha, oh and the strawberry milkshake please.”
“Just one? What about your friend over here?”
Poppy snaps her head up at the waitress who seemed to scan her every move. Something Poppy was definitely used to. Her hands are the first to make a move, slowly trailing their way up Bea’s arm from across the table. She doesn’t take her eyes off the waitress as she speaks softly. “Oh we’ll be sharing it honey. Put a cherry on top too okay?”
The waitress reverts her eyes from the two and walks away without a word. Poppy watches her leave, biting her lip with satisfaction.
Bea can’t help but smirk to herself. “Oh you cannot take your eyes off of her can you? Relax, she’s an old friend.”
The blonde scoffs, keeping her hands on the surface of Bea’s skin. “I don’t care who she is. Does she flirt with every customer in here? What happened to having class? Or some sort of decent? I mean do you talk to pigs like this?
Bea squints her eyes and sighs warily. “Poppy this is not a five star restaurant, and that’s what you call being polite and kind to well known customers. People here are normal, not trained robots.”
Poppy shrugs to herself, her eyes darting around to the wall decorations and other people who are chatting happily with their families. The atmosphere did feel warm and peaceful, nobody sat up straight and practiced proper table manners. Nobody judged her for who she was or what designer she wore. There was room to actually breathe. Bea could sense the blonde slowly starting to adapt and relax in their new environment and she couldn’t be more grateful for making the right decision. When their food had come, Bea slid the milkshake towards Poppy and smiled shyly. “It’s all yours if you like it, we don’t have to share.”
“Nonsense Hughes, I can’t possibly drink this all by myself…but I call dibs on the cherry.” She steals the cherry from the top and plops it into her mouth, eyes sparkling from the burst of flavor. It was nothing compared to the milkshake though, Poppy swore she saw stars when tasting the sweet liquid. Bea laughs as a whipped cream mustache develops on the blonde’s lips after hogging the shake for herself.
 ***
“I’m paying for our next date by the way.”
Bea peers over at Poppy who walked her to her front door, “oh so there’s gonna be another one?” She can’t help but smile at Poppy’s sudden shyness.
“Well I enjoyed tonight, a lot. Maybe more than a lot.”
 “I did too.”
The silence that consumed them wasn’t exactly uncomfortable but it was enough to make them stare at each other. Bea’s mind started to fog as she thought about finally closing the distance between them. She wanted nothing more than to mask the silence with a kiss. Bea looks at Poppy, who seems to be lost in thought.
 “What are you thinking?”
 “What?”
“You’re usually deep in thought when your eyebrows scrunch together like that. Or maybe you’re just planning on jumping me as soon as I turn around.”
Poppy smiles softly. “Do you know the feeling when the thing you wanted the most is right in front of you, yet it still feels unreal and almost impossible.”
Bea takes a deep breath and nods, “I do.”
Okay Hughes you’re gonna kiss her in 3. You’re gonna make the move. Come on.
But of course Poppy had other plans.
 “Mmh!”
The feeling of Poppy’s soft lips had caught Bea completely off guard. A hum of pleasure escaped her mouth as the heat started to increase between them. Bea grabbed hold of Poppy’s cheek and steadied the kiss, her eyes slowly started to shut as she sunk into the warm, smooth feeling. Bea smiles into the kiss as Poppy’s tongue begins exploring the depths of her mouth, and she bites back a moan when the blonde takes her bottom lip between her teeth, tugging it slightly, feeling the desire pooling in the pit of her stomach. Poppy places her lips back on Bea’s, passion igniting once more as Bea begins to dominate the kiss, her hands finding her way to the blonde’s waist, pulling her in even closer.
Poppy felt like she could kiss Bea forever, if it wasn’t for the need of oxygen. When they both finally pulled back, the blonde laughed with joy. “That felt so amazing.”
Bea wanted to blow a huge sigh of relief that Poppy initiated the kiss, because imagine fucking that up. She just held her close and basked in the moment. Her lips swelled with excitement as she still felt the ghost of Poppy’s tongue tracing it. Poppy always had something to say, but right now there was so much more she could do. And the first thing she would do is finally make Bea hers.

Snow Queen
Part 1? Just some random Hella Soft Blaine and Mc story. I don’t know what I was shooting for but here you go. Maybe a part 2? Idk yet.
F!Blaine x Mc(Kennedy Monroe)
Tag list: @blaine-hayes @samanthadalton @fundamentalromantic @kwaj05 @danna-min-sinclair @mintchocolate-chip @dopeyouth @shows-simp-card @clowneryme @scarlet-letter-a0114 @avanimous @choicesilona @somewillwin @iamsimpforpoppy @robintora @alexlabhont
Some vacation, who would have guessed a private ski lodge for diplomats with body guards and maximum security would have an issue with paparazzi?
Usually they don’t bother or even get near the place unless there is a story, and Kennedy Monroe was the story of the year, that was, if they could catch her.
She spent most of her vacation avoiding the paparazzi by a series of gut wrenching maneuvers on the slopes along with Blaine. It was actually becoming quite fun trying to evade them. It kept the adrenaline pumping for the girls as they tried to outdo one another in their big escapes.
For as much as they skied together and spent time together laughing and hanging out on the slopes, no one had put the two together, something that might unravel itself sooner rather than later.
Blaine and Kennedy started their morning’s off sitting next to each other at breakfast. Blaine always made sure Kennedy finished all her food before hitting the slopes. Besides evading the paparazzi, Blaine helped Kennedy with new moves and tricks on some jumps. Kennedy wasn’t the worlds worst skier, she just wasn’t as polished as Blaine.
But it wasn’t always skiing. The two girls would sneak off the runs and build snowmen and snow angels. One afternoon was so bad with the paparazzi, Blaine pulled Kennedy off the run and built them an igloo to hide in. One of many hidden talents the Ardonian possessed.
Of course the igloo wasn’t the largest of structures, especially the inside. Kennedy nearly had to straddle Blaine’s lap just to fit inside, something neither girl was complaining about.
“I see what you did here Blaine.” Kennedy smirked.
“What? I didn’t do anything.” Blaine replied with her trademark grin. “Just big enough for two.”
The two were quite fond of the igloo, it was their private oasis away from their friends and press on the slopes but would always end up back in Blaine’s room soaking away the aches of the days adventures.
The two started opposite of each other, just barely allowing their feet to rub one another. Then they started sitting side by side so they could hold hands. Then they always ended up with Kennedy sitting with her back to Blaine’s front, with the brunettes legs wrapped around the blonde’s waist.
Kennedy would just relax back into Blaine as she felt the girls grip tighten and the soft brush of her lips caressing the skin behind her ear. Not much was said, but the delicate actions spoke louder than any word either could muster.
One of the last morning’s, Blaine wasn’t at breakfast. Kennedy shot her a quick text before taking her own seat.
Blaine immediately responded with a message telling Kennedy to meet her at the igloo around noon for a surprise. Kennedy couldn’t stop bouncing in anticipation at the possibilities.
A surprise? From Blaine? Kennedy didn’t know whether to be excited or afraid.
Kennedy made it to the top of the ski lift and solo skied down the run and over to the secret igloo that Blaine had made. Finding Blaine tucked away inside with a blanket strung out with a picnic basket.
“Surprise!” Blaine greeted awkwardly, this feeling was all new to her.
“Oh a picnic? How romantic.”
“Yeah yeah I’m a saint. Now dig in, I’ve slaved over this all morning.” Blaine admitted timidly.
“You!? You made all this food? Thanks for the warning.” Kennedy teased pushing the basket away.
“Hey! It’s not that bad! I worked hard on it!”
Kennedy took the basket back and dug in, moaning in surprise on how tasteful the food was. “This is amazing Blaine thank you.”
Blaine smiled due to her small victory. Never in a million years did she ever consider baking anything for anyone, including a special someone. But here she was smiling, watching Kennedy enjoy her handy work.
After the tasteful lunch Kennedy tossed the basket aside, capturing Blaine’s lips with intensity and passion.
“Thank you so much for lunch Blaine, it was perfect.”
“A perfect lunch, for a perfect girl.” Blaine happily replied returning the kiss.
“When did you become so soft!?” Kennedy grinned.
“First day of school when I slammed that limo door shut, I caught a beautiful blonde staring from the sidewalk. I knew then I was toast.”
Kennedy squeezed Blaine’s hand thinking back to that day and how far the two have come, even if it was on the down low.
“But don’t you dare tell anyone Rutherland, my reputation would be destroyed.”
“We will keep it our little secret. And speaking of secrets? Do you think we will ever spill this one?” Kennedy said gesturing between them.
“I hope so, and soon.” Blaine admitted. “I value our time together as us, but I want the world to know you’re mine.”
“I agree. But do you think we are ready to take that on? We have countries to think about, our own people, our families.”
“Hell with them. We are grown women Kennedy, we can make our own decisions for our own reasons.”
“So...you do wish to keep this going?” Kennedy questioned.
“Kennedy we can do anything if we try. It’s just you and me. Our future is what we make it, not what our parents or countries make it.”
“Ok who are you and what did you do with Blaine.” Kennedy teased, lightly nudging Blaine.
“I mean it Rutherland. You mean the world to me. On a night when bad dreams become a screamer, When they're messing with the dreamer, I can laugh it in the face. I can twist and shout my way out, And wrap yourself around me. Because I ain’t the way you found me, And I'll never be the same.”
“D...Did you just quote a Hall & Oates song?” Kennedy thought, mulling over Blaine’s words.
“That’s not important, but what is, is that you changed me for the better Rutherland. You got me bad and I don’t want it to stop. I mean hell, I even cooked you lunch!” Blaine pointed out.
“Yes you did my little chef.” Kennedy said giving Blaine another appreciative Kiss. “Soon the world will know. Soon.”
The two were interrupted by an intense wind gust that started to blow snow into the igloo. Blaine stuck her head out to examine the outside world.
“It’s snowing again. These are big flakes Kennedy, and with this wind, it won’t be long until it’s blizzard conditions.”
“It’s getting colder too.” Kennedy added watching her breath intensify into the air.
“We better get back now before it’s too late.” Blaine spoke hurriedly packing the gear up and slapping her skis on.
The two abandoned their igloo and set off for the lodge. It was a decent run, and the near whiteout conditions had set in quicker than either thought.
“Kennedy!” Blaine yelled over her shoulder. “Stay close! We will cut through the woods up ahead, snow should be lighter.”
“Ok!”
The two approached a small thicket, telling them the woods were close. An odd movement in the thicket caught Blaine’s attention.
“Kennedy! To the left!” She pointed out.
“Paparazzi!” Kennedy yelled back. “Do these guys ever take a day off!”
“I don’t think he see’s us!” Blaine added looking for the guy again. “Where did he go?”
“He was just right out front?” Kennedy said speeding past Blaine unaware of how close she was to the woods. “I don’t see him!?”
“Kennedy! Look out!” Blaine screamed as the man appeared in front of Kennedy with his camera snapping shots of the first daughter.
The close proximity in the blinding snow startled Kennedy and she swerved around the man, hitting a tree head on.
“Kennedy!” Blaine whined out in fear, stopping next to the blonde, checking her over. “You fucking asshole!” Blaine snapped towards the cameraman.
“Oh this is good footage!” The man said recording the entire interaction. “You care to comment why you are so worried about your rival countries first daughter?”
Blaine reared back and slugged the creep. Taking his camera and tossing it against a tree, making sure it was good and broke. “Put that in your article asshole.”
The man staggered over and snagged his sim card before Blaine could and made his escape before Blaine had a chance to kill him.
“Kennedy!? Are you ok?” She asked rushing over when she heard the girl moaning in pain.
Kennedy tried to roll over, crying in immense pain. “Where does it hurt?” Blaine asked.
“My shoulder and neck.” Kennedy weakly got out. “My nose. I...I can’t breathe Blaine!” Kennedy started to freak but Blaine tried to calm her. Blaine noticed the blood surrounding the girls face.
“Broken nose, try and breathe through your mouth. Relax... breathe in, and out. Stay calm and I’ll call for help.” Blaine assured.
Soon the ski patrol made it with a evac snowmobile to find Blaine using her body to cover and warm Kennedy.
“Miss? We need to get her to the lodge.” The rescuer spoke removing Blaine.
The brunette watched as they speed off down the mountain with Kennedy and she hopped on the other machine to quickly get out of this snow storm.
As soon as she made it the lodge her classmates and Tatum had swarmed her.
“What happened to Kennedy?” Dionne asked.
“Yeah! They rushed her in on a stretcher and everything!” Peter added.
“I’ll need to ask you some questions Miss Hayes.” Tatum asked professionally.
“What the fuck is this!? 20 questions? Where is she?” Blaine snapped.
“I’m afraid you’ll have to answer the questions first. I’m not letting you see her without answering my questions. You are a witness and depending on your answers, a suspect.”
“Take your questions and shove them up your ass pretty boy. You’re not stopping me from seeing my girlfriend.”
The room went silent. Blaine could hear the many gasp’s from her friends but didn’t dare hide her relationship anymore.
“Girlfriend!?” Alexei asked. “I thought Evelyn was her girlfriend?”
“Pretend.” Evelyn noted.
“Finally!” Dionne squealed.
Tatum drug Blaine away and wrote down a room number. “That’s her room number at the hospital. Helicopter just took off.
“Then why are you still here?” Blaine questioned.
“I was supposed to interrogate you, but I see no need. I will need to ask you two what happened for my report when this settles down.” Tatum spoke.
Blaine, as restless as ever, called in her helicopter, and within an hour was taking off from the ski lodge in route to the hospital.
It was another 30 minute flight as she rushed into the hospital finding the correct level and the lucky door she was searching for. Demarco guarded the door but nodded for Blaine to go in.
“Kennedy?” Blaine asked easing into the room, finding the girl asleep on the bed. Her nose was severely bruised but had all the blood washed from her face. The cuts had been taken care of, and she was placed in a neck brace.
“Miss?” A nurse spoke entering the room. “We need to get Ms. Monroe to surgery. We are ready for her.”
“Surgery?” Blaine asked worriedly.
“On her shoulder and clavicle. It took a beating on that impact.” The nurse spoke taking the bed out the door.
Blaine wondered the halls alone waiting for Kennedy to finish surgery. It was literally the longest 5 hours of her life and the longest she’s gone without Kennedy aside from sleeping.
She didn’t know exactly how she fell so hard for Kennedy but she knew she didn’t want to go back. Life was so much better and worth living with her by her side.
“Ms. Hayes?” A nurse timidly approached, not wanting to interfere with a somber looking Blaine.
“Yes?”
“Ms. Monroe’s surgery was successful and she has returned to her room. She won’t stop asking for you.”
Blaine smiled as she took off running down the corridors, nearly bulldozing the room door down trying to get in so quickly.
“Blaine!” Kennedy squealed.
Blaine delicately took the girl in a hug, careful not to hurt her too much. “I missed you Rutherland.”
“Not as much as I missed you. You like my new look? Vogue says if your atleast 33% in castings, your trendy.” Kennedy teased.
“I guess given the circumstances, you look ravishing.” Blaine agreed.
“Ms. Hayes, if I didn’t know any better? I’d say your blushing.” Kennedy teased.
“Am not!” Blaine protested, blushing even harder. “Ok maybe alittle, so sue me.”
“I’ll do one better, come here.”
Blaine did as told and leaned down, meeting Kennedy in a much relieved and much needed kiss.
“I love you Blaine.”
“I love you Rutherland. So much.”

Reputation Chapters 1-6
======
The morning after I received that text from Poppy I was sitting at the kitchen counter stool with Zoey cooking some pancakes. Getting Poppy's text just made me more confused. I refused to think how it gave me a small hope. That maybe she would see me as someone more than her enemy.
"So how's working with Poppy?" She asked as she casually flipped the pancakes in the pan.
"Oh," I jerked to reality when Zoey's voice interrupting my thoughts. She turned around and narrowed her eyes towards me - scrutinizing my reaction. I gulped and smiled awkwardly at her.
"Bea, are you alright?" She asked.
 I nodded, still smiling.
She looked at me hard before smiling, "Okay. Now spill what happened yesterday."
Zoey turned her back from me again focusing on the pancakes, I let the smile on my lips, "It was alright," More than alright to be honest. I paused, "She was really different at the animal shelter. She was gentle, compassionate, sweet--" I chuckled as the images of yesterday flashed in my mind.
Zoey turned and looked at me her eyes narrowed once again, "Girl she was around dogs. Anyone would get soft and mushy in the face of puppy-dog eyes."
I gulped. She turned around again to focus on the pancakes. I stifled a sigh, "I know that. I'm just saying that what if there is really something more about Poppy? Have you ever imagined if we'll have her on our side and finally we can wave the white flag and rule the school as equals?"
Turning the stove off, she turned around. She sighed, "You're so optimistic about this. I still am not convinced with all of this. I just want you to be careful," Her bright smile turned softer, "Specially with how Poppy likes backstabbing people. I don't want to see you get hurt just because you got too close with Poppy's claws."
"Aww Zo." I cooed. My heart melted with the softness in her eyes. Guilt started to creep in me as I continue to stare at Zoey.
She chuckled before her eyes flashed with certain seriousness, "I trust you Bea, but I've been here since the start of Poppy's reigns. Trust me when I say never let your guard down when you're with her."
I gulped thickly the words she said hit me deeper than I thought. I plastered a smile to mask the nervousness creeping on me. Does Zoey know my growing attraction for Poppy? I stood up and walked towards her. I enveloped her with a hug, "Thank you for looking out for me Zo. You're really the best." I'm sorry I can't tell you yet how I really feel about Poppy. I'm not even sure what I'm putting myself into.
She rubbed my back soothingly, "Of course Bea. You're my best friend."
I sighed as her hug brought comfort while my mind drowned in the sea of thoughts full of Poppy's name.
 ===
Later at lunch time, Poppy asked me to meet her at a high end restaurant where we'll meet up with Chloe. I made sure to arrive at least a few minutes early. I had decided to talk to her. I don't know how cooperative she will be, but at this point where I felt like I'm gonna lose my mind thinking what she really feels about me; I'd rather do something, anything with how messy my emotions had become.
I arrived at the high end restaurant. A waitress guided me to a private room. As the door opened I saw Poppy already sitting in one of the four chairs in the huge table at the centre of the room. She looked up from her phone and as our eyes met a hundred of butterflies fluttered in my stomach as her brown eyes bore on me. I gulped thickly feeling the wind knocked out of me. I knew Poppy was beautiful. Heck, her beauty caught me the first time we met, but something in her felt different today. Was it the way her brown eyes widened a little when she saw me? Or was it how the corners of her lips tugged into a soft smile? Soft smile. My heart was threatening to explode in my chest.
"You're early." She spoke. When did her voice sound this gentle? With my heart pounding and mind raising a hundred questions per second I almost forgot to speak.
I cleared my throat, "I was hoping I could talk to you before Chloe arrives."
 "Then take a sit first."
I took a bee line towards the chair in front of her, but before I can even touch the chair she spoke again, "Sit here beside me Farmsville."
I stuttered in shock, "I... Are you.. Wh--"
She rolled her eyes, "Just sit here, now." Her was voice stern as she narrowed her eyes at me.
I gulped my words back to save me from more embarrassment. Once I sat beside her, I turned slightly towards her.
"So?" She asked already waiting for me to speak.
I cleared my throat, "Honestly, Poppy I'm confused. What are you up to? Why did you invite me today? Why me? You could have just invited Veronica today," Words continuously spilled out from me; half of my worries and fears masked in those words.
"Okay slow down Hughes." She said calmly, "You have too many questions."
"How can I not?" I tried not let my frustrations won over me. "Like this is weird and surprising and--"
I suddenly forgot how to speak when her hand gently lay on mine. The warmth of her hand grounding me back to the present. My eyes grew wide as I looked from her hand on mine to her face.
She had a soft smile again, "I swear will you calm down Hughes? Breath."  I badly want to tell her, how am I supposed to calm down when her hand was on mine, but she paused and raised an eyebrow waiting for me to obey her and so I did.
"Good." She spoke again. "You're the one who told me before to stop over analysing things and just use my eyes." She chuckled.
My eyes grew wide again. It wasn't a mocking or humorless laugh. She sounded really genuine and amused. "Who are you? What have you done to Poppy?" I pointed an accusing finger with my free hand.
She shook her head still smiling, "Please I'm too perfect to have a clone."
"And sheeee's back." I giggled making her chuckle.
"Like I said, I need someone to prevent me from killing Chloe right on the spot."
I smirked at her, "As if you can do that."
Rolling her eyes she continued, "Plus I'm completely still using the privileges of us still in truce."
I raised my eyebrow at her, "What if I just want for us to have this truce permanently?"
Before she can even reply the door flew open. Chloe walked in and instantly raised an eyebrow at me, "What is she doing here?" There was sharpness in her voice.
Poppy slowly retracted her hand on mine which I wasn't even aware that was still there. She cleared her throat and looked at Chloe passively, "I invited her, just in case I lose my patience and do something," She paused smirking her voice turning husky, "really bad."
 I saw Chloe visibly gulped.
Poppy smiled coldly, "Go on take a sit."
Later on, as the foods were served and the three of us started to eat quietly. The awkward silence made me lost my appetite in the middle of the meal. I sighed at last, my patience wearing thin. They haven't even tried to speak since Chloe sat.
Putting my utensils down, I threw a look on both of them. I groaned, "Okay that's it." They both pause and looked at me. "You two talk." I crossed my arms and gestured with my chin on them.
Poppy wiped her lips carefully with the table napkin before she spoke," You heard her Chlo."
Chloe scoffed, "What? Is she my replacement?"
This time I scoffed, "Excuse me? No offense Pops and Chloe, but hell no I would be your replacement."
Poppy coughed masking the laugh she almost released. When I met Poppy's eyes I stifled the smile I almost showed. I turned again my attention towards Chloe, "Anyway, let's focus on the important matter here. I believe you want to talk to Poppy?"
Chloe sighed, "Fine. I'll let this one slide newbie." She finally looked at Poppy. She gulped, "I know how much being on top means to you. I need you to believe I didn't do anything. I'm also surprised to see the ranking system like that."
Poppy's eyebrow raised, "That's it? And you expect me to believe you because you said so?"
Chloe bit her lips, "No matter how much I try to tell you my side that is the truth. I don't know what happened." Chloe's eyes were glassy with unshed tears by now, "Poppy our friendship means so much to me. Do you really think I'll just ruin it stupidly like that?"
I saw Poppy's jaw clenched, "And what do you think I felt when I saw the ranking system?'
"I'm sorry that happened, but I swear I really didn't know how it happened." Chloe pleaded.
I dared to reach out and lay my hand on top of Poppy's. Not daring to meet Poppy's eyes and to see her reaction, I spoke to both of them, "You know what I believe you two?"
Both of them looked at me, "I believe no matter how much both of you can be mean and rude on the outside, I think both of you treasured your friendship." I smiled at them, "Poppy can't you give Chloe another chance?"
Poppy scowled at me, withdrawing her hand from mine she lightly slapped my hand, "I didn't brought you here for this."
I chuckled before smirking at Poppy, "I thought I was brought here so you can keep your anger to minimum?"
Poppy groaned, "How can I trust someone who betrayed me already?" She gestured on Chloe.
"Let her work for it?" I suggested randomly.
 Chloe suddenly interrupted, "Poppy."
Poppy turned to her, eyes calculating, "What?"
"I know you. You probably have some plan to get back on me or to make me lose my reputation, so you can get back your crown."
Poppy's lips pressed into a thin line, "Indeed, I have a plan."
"Then go on and do your plan, or if you want me to do anything to lose some of my reputation I'll willingly do something just to give you back the number one spot."
Poppy raised her eyebrow, "Why will you do that?"
Chloe sigh exasperated, eyes on the verged of tears, "Because in the first place I don't want this spot specially if it meant I'm losing my best friend."
I watched the quick flicker of softness in Poppy's eyes. She looked at me like searching for something - maybe searching for an answer. I can see the conflict brewing in her mind. I smiled reassuringly at her.
Poppy sighed then looked at Chloe, "Fine."
I feel how Chloe and I waited with bated breath for Poppy's next words. Poppy continued, "So here's my plan, Farmsville I need you in this too,"
 "W-What?" I exclaimed surprised.
"Why do you need her for the plan?" Chloe asked in shock.
"Shut it you two. Let me explain the plan first." It took another few minutes for Poppy to explain her plan. After that Chloe decided to leave first not before giving me one final curious look. Once we were alone, Poppy looked at me.
"Thanks for coming today," Poppy smiled softly at me.
Her smile, the softness in her eyes and her words tugged on my heartstrings. I can't help the grin the painted my lips, "Well I'm just glad that you considered talking to her and giving her a chance."
Poppy shrugged her shoulders before she stood up, "She's my best friend obviously."
I kept my grin at her, which made her glare at me. I just chuckled at her.
"Stop smiling like that." She said voice tight.
"What's the problem with me smiling like this?" I smiled some more showing my lopsided grin.
She rolled her eyes, but I managed to notice the faint blush on her cheeks, "You're teasing me aren't you?"
"I'm still not used seeing this side of you, but I like it." I winked at her.
Poppy groaned making me laugh. "Don't get used to this Hughes," She said when my laugh died down.
I just raised my eyebrow at her, "Sure Pops." Somehow I found her words hard to believe.
Poppy shrugged, "At least I warned you. Anyway, leave after a few minutes I left. I don't want people to have any idea of us having lunch together."
 "Alright."
She already opened the door when she paused in her step and looked back at me. She smirked once our eyes met, "See you tonight Bea."
Oh hells! She'll be the death of me.
 ===
I was waiting for Zoey in my room. I rummaged through my closet desperate to find something to wear for tonight. I tried not to let my nervousness win over me while chanting nothing is gonna happen later -  but no matter how I tried a huge part of me hoped to get more closer to Poppy tonight. That part, was blinded by the real Poppy that I saw for the past few days. If only there was a switch off button for feelings, but I don't have and I'm drowning fast with the emotions Poppy kept on igniting in me.
"Hey Bea," Zoey slipped into my room. "I got your text." She wriggled her phone.
"Thank God you're finally here. I need your help." I exasperatedly groaned.
 "What's up?"
"Well Poppy kinda extended our truce and she kind of need me tonight in a club?" I explained.
"Okay woah! What?" Shocked was written on her face.
"And Zo I don't wanna be late and face her wrath. Can I explain more later? The summary is she need me for something she planned for Chloe." I plead with my puppy-dog eyes.
Zoey sighed, "Fine. I need the whole dits later." She walked towards my closet rummaging fast through my options, "So club huh? Think you can look for some of Poppy's dirt while you can keep her close?"
"I'll try." I said half-heartedly, "I mean what can I find out in a club?"
She paused looking back at me, "You'll never know B. You might be surprised by an opportunity handed in your face, so keep your eyes and ears open."
 I smiled teasingly, "Yes ma'am."
Zoey chuckled. After a few more rummaging and her getting something in her room I'm finally adorned with a blue sexy dress.
 "Wow." Zoey exclaimed.
I can't help the smirk painting on my lips as I can already imagined Poppy's reaction.
"I can already feel a plan brewing on that pretty mind of yours." Zoey stood behind me our eyes meeting from the mirror.
My smirked widened, "Poppy won't know what hit her."
Zoey chuckled, "I like a confident woman Bea."
"Thank you for making me feel more confident Zo." I smiled softly at her.
"You know I always got your back."
I turned around to hug her, once we withdrew she looked at me straight in the eyes, "I already talked to you about being careful this morning, so I'll make it short. Take care of yourself tonight. Call me if anything happens."
 "I will. Thanks Zo."
Once I got to the club my eyes savored the view from outside. The way it made me felt like I'm walking down on Hollywood was amazing. Until someone interrupted me which was the bouncer Poppy sent to usher me inside to the VIP section to meet her. I immediately spot Poppy once I was inside. She waved me over.
"Glad to know you can follow directions Farmsville," She said once I was in front of her.
"Nice to see you too Poppy." I let my gaze wandered on her, letting her know how she piqued my interests, "You're looking fine tonight."
She scoffed, "Is that your attempt in flattery Farmsville?"
"I'd like to think I was just stating facts."
Her perfect pout twisted into a haughty smile," I guess you're more observant than I think." Her eye raked through my body, scrutinizing every part of me she can see. I can feel the growing lump in my throat and the acceleration in my heartbeat as her eyes moved through the length of my body.
When her eyes met mine again, a smirk played on her lips, "I have to say I am shock. You dressed up pretty well tonight. You managed to prove me a little that you might not be a total lost cause."
I huffed out a laugh, "I believe I just got an equivalent of compliment from Poppy Min-Sinclair."
She stared at me dead in the eyes," Don't get used to it Farmsville. My charity work has an expiration."
I rolled my eyes. Does she need to remind me that my feelings can be one sided? "Whatever Pops."
"Anyway, here's your earpiece," She handed it to me, "And here's for Bradley." Just like an obedient puppy Bradley came to us.
After Bradley got the earpiece he smiled at me, "You ready for this Bea?"
I almost forgot that he existed in this plan. I guess I was too caught up with my emotions. Whenever Poppy talked to me, she made me feel like we're invisible to the world - like it was only the two of us existing and no one were around to judge or talk about us.
I plastered a smile as I looked at him, ignoring the emotions brewing inside of me as reality slapped me that she was still Poppy's boyfriend, "Yeah. Let's do this."
Poppy suddenly linked her arm with mine, dragging me towards the dance floor. She leaned closer and whispered in my ear, "If you'll do good tonight. I might let you see another secret of mine." She smirked at me when I looked at her eyes wide and interest piqued.
"Anyway, Chloe will be coming any minute. I'll meet you later when the show is about to begin." She held my gaze for a second. I can't quite decipher the emotion that flashed in her eyes before she spoke again, "Don't disappoint me Farmsville." With that she left.
As Poppy and I separated ways, I struggled to cut through the sea of sweaty, overdressed rich kids. I halted in my steps when someone mentioned my name from behind, "I see you're already here Bea."
I turned around and came face to face with Chloe. Her face was stoic, an eyebrow raised as her eyes wandered on my dress, "At least you've definitely learn some wardrobe upgrade."
"Oh good you're finally here," I sighed. "You ready for later?"
"If you meant proving to Poppy my sincerity, then yes."
 "I'm sensing a but here."
She sighed, "I guess I just... feel a little uncomfortable with the idea of being humiliated."
I gave her a small smile, "Hey that's completely normal," Sighing I continued, "I just wished you don't have to go through what will happen later."
She looked me in the eyes, curiosity flashing bright, "I am still confused as hell why Poppy is starting to talk with you like a normal person."
That made me laugh, "You see, I am confused as you are."
"But I am sure you're gaining something from this. I don't think you'll help her if you're not getting something from this." She stated accusingly.
"Are you being friends with her because you're getting something from her?" I bit back with another question.
She scoffed then glared at me, "Excuse me. That's offensive as hell."
"I know you have a reason for accusing me, but believe me I felt offended with what you said too."
Her eyebrow raised, "So you're helping her?"
"Cause I want to. I don't need anything from her in return. I just..." I sighed, fingers weaving through my hair. I looked at her dead in the eyes, "I just want to get to know her more Chloe."
Chloe gasped, "Shit are you saying?" My words finally clicking in her mind.
I laughed dryly, "I do like her."
Chloe gaped at me, like a fish out of the water her mouth kept opening and closing. If what we're talking about wasn't serious I'd probably be laughing, but my heart was about to burst out of my chest. Before our conversation can even continue the music stopped abruptly. There was a feedback in the front. I whipped my head and spot Bradley holding a mic and already standing on stage.
"Can I have everyone's attention I have something important to say," Bradley started.
I looked back at Chloe a small smile on my lips encouraging her, "It's time Chloe."
She exhaled loudly, "Right, I guess I'll keep you on my watch list from now on. Let's see how real you meant those words Farmsville." After that she walked up on stage as Bradley asked her to come up.
I just smiled at Chloe. There was nothing to prove really. I was confident my actions were loud enough for them to see the truth.
Just then Poppy walked up to me, and faced me, "Let's see what you've got Farmsville."
As our eyes locked my turn to feed Bradley with words came. I was once again drowning in the depths of Poppy's brown eyes. A million of emotions to discover from those eyes, but I got a feeling that she was expecting something from me at that moment. I gulped the growing lump in my throat. Trusting my heart with the words I was about to say - hoping it would reach her.
"She's got an amazing way with words," My hands acted like they had a mind of their own, searching for Poppy's and intertwining our hands once I found them. The softness and warmth of her hands left a fluttering of feeling in every fiber of my body. "I can't help not to look forward every time we get to talk to each other. Her words, her voice it's like a drug that I'm starting to get addicted to."
Her brown eyes bore deep in mine searching, "She's also compassionate. She has this glow that shines whenever she goes, "I squeezed her hands gently before whispering making sure it was only her who would hear me, "And I think I'm attracted to that like a moth towards a flame." Her eyes widened for a second before I continued more loudly this time for Bradley to hear, "The people in her life got to be so lucky. Imagine having her support and her presence in my life." I sighed, eyes boring deep into hers.
Bradley continued until the big reveal which Chloe will tell she knew Bradley was only talking about Poppy. Everything started buzzing around us as the chaotic and messy scene unfolded. People eating up what was happening on stage. While all of their eyes were on Bradley and Chloe, I felt how Poppy and I got lost in this moment. My heart was still buzzing with the words I poured out. Did my heart reach hers? Her brown eyes gleamed more softly now. I felt her squeezing my hands and a soft smile on her lips. Here she goes again, making me feel like we're invisible and the world didn't mattered at the moment.
The buzzing of our phones interrupted us and bringing us back to reality. She withdrew her hands on mine to check on her phone. She was back on the number one spot while I ranked up to number nine.
She looked up at me from her phone a grin spreading on her lips, "You did great Farmsville," She paused and I wait with bated breath as she continued, "Maybe even I felt the words you said."
I smirked at her playfully, happiness surging to my heart. It reached her. "What do you have in mind?"
"First, dance with me?" I gulped noticing the flirty tone in her voice and the way her smirk played on her lips.
She didn't even wait for my response before grabbing my hand and leading me to the dance floor. She wrapped her arms around my neck beaming. I smirked as I encircled my arms around her waist. We moved to the beat. This close her warmth consumed me, and her perfume intoxicated my senses. She leaned closer, whispering her breath tickling closely on my jaw, "Don't repeat this to anyone Farmsville, but... I needed you tonight."
When she leaned back I smirked at her, "Sounds to me like you want me too. Be honest. Was this whole plan an elaborate ruse to get me on the dance floor?"
Poppy spin around and pressed against me, grinding her hips slowly and laughing. My mouth dried at her sudden movement. I felt my hands trembling as I lay it on her hips.
She whispered throatily, "Maybe I just wanted to see you dressed like that tonight Bea."
I gulped the lump in my throat as I whispered back, my breath tickling her ear, "You could've just told me from the start Poppy."
Poppy shivered. She turned around to face me again a smirked ghosting on her lips and a blush creeping on her cheeks, "What do you say we get out of here and turn up the fun somewhere else? I'm in the mood for some girls’ night out."
I tried to keep my cool as I barely let out my words due to my excitement, "Poppy let's get out of here."
===
We arrived at her huge and luxurious bedroom in no time. I sat in her bed as she got some things from her bathroom. My leg started to jiggle restlessly. I think it was only starting to sunk into me that I was in Poppy's room. I tried to calm my beating heart. Thankfully she walked out of the bathroom, carrying face masks, serums, and other beauty products.
"So what's our agenda for spa night? We can't possibly do all of that." I asked eyeing the beauty products.
"Of course not. I just got a shipment of beauty products from my cousin in Korea, and I'm dying to try them." She smiled before straddling me. My eyes grew wide as saucers, and my heart about to burst out from my chest. I can feel my blood rushing to my face, probably making me look like red as tomato.
Poppy had the audacity to smirk, as if she knew what she was doing to my mind and body.
"Sit still while I wiped your make up off," Poppy run a cool, fresh-smelling makeup wipe over my face, surprisingly gentle. It started to calm my nerves too.
Sighing I teased, "You might make a good aesthetician." I giggled.
"Oh shut up," but there was still a smile on her face. "I'm starting with a hyaluronic acid serum. Let me know if it burns."
Completely forgetting why I was giggling in the first place I panic that whatever she was about to put in my face might burn, "W-wait--"
She ignored my protest and dabbed a little dollop of cold goo on my cheeks. I wince closing my eyes tight, but nothing happened.
I sighed in relief after, "Oh. This actually feels good. A little cold maybe, but kinda... soothing."
"Then it's a keeper. It should help with those dark circles under your eyes, you're welcome. Honestly, I've been looking for someone to test these products for a week now, but I haven't found someone suitable."
"Sounds like you need real friends." I said looking up and meeting her eyes.
"Don't get sentimental with me now Farmsville. I have a ton of followers and that's the closest to friends I have in my books."
"Didn't you hear what I said? Real friends, not just some acquaintances nor followers."
"Are you going to deep talk to me again just like that time in the pool?" She asked probably pertaining when I persuaded her about talking to Chloe.
I huffed out a laugh, "Maybe. I, for one thinks that Chloe and Veronica are one of your realest friends though. Am I right or am I right?"
Poppy rolled her eyes, "What are you trying to get from me here?"
"Relationships always works when both parties makes an effort. I'm just making sure you're not taking things for granted Poppy." I paused checking her reaction. She only raised an eyebrow waiting for me to continue, "Look I'll be honest. I wasn't a fan of humiliating Chloe a while ago even though she agreed to it. Have you ever tried to asked if she was one hundred percent comfortable with your plan?"
To my surprise she didn't talk back instead she answered me softly, "No..."
"Why don't you try to communicate with them more Pops? I am sure they are also a keeper." I smiled softly at her.
Poppy sighed, "I hate how you can see through me sometimes." Our beauty product testing was forgotten, as she shifted on my lap looking like a lost puppy as she locked gazed with me.
I chuckled with my heart drumming so wild in my rib cage. I reached out tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "What's on your mind?"
"You," She answered immediately catching me off guard and knocking out the wind out of me.
 "W-what?" I stuttered.
She gulped, "I'm just... not used to this Bea."
I raised my eyebrow just waiting for her to continue.
"Since I was a kid I was so used to be Poppy Min-Sinclair. Name it whether it was with my friends, teachers, followers specially with my parents there was no room for only Poppy, so when you told me at that Alpha's party that you'll be friends with me, with just me being myself, being Poppy I--" She paused eyes boring deeper through mine. I saw it and my heart felt it. Her mask cracking piece by piece as I sat here stunned in silence as she let me see the real her.
From that moment I let my heart spoke more - cupping her face, I smiled at her softly, "And I still stand by that."
"How can you even just want me without... without my stupid surname that defined my whole life?"
My heart was screaming so loud for her name. My heart ached with her as I dove deep in the see of her brown eyes, "Poppy I care for you," I caressed her cheeks, "And you don't know how much I cherish you. Your bravery to tell me this," I closed the distance between us nuzzling my nose on her cheeks, "Your genuine honesty right now. What more can I ask for? That is enough for me." I withdrew and look her dead in the eyes, "God, do you know how breath taking you are? I just need you to be you because that alone makes me feel like I'm the luckiest person right now."
 "Bea..." She bit her lips.
 "Yeah?" I whispered softly.
 "Can I kiss you?"
Poppy always tend to do whatever she wanted. I was so used of her just doing anything she pleased, not minding if she might hurt people or make them uncomfortable - but as she asked for my permission and was actually waiting for my response I felt my heart melt into a puddle.
"Poppy..." I whispered her name, my heart was on my throat and the butterflies in my tummy went wild as I leaned forward. She met me half way. The softness and warmth of her lips engulfed me. Her lips moved. As she opened her mouth I felt her tongue teasing my bottom lip. I welcomed hers, letting her explore mine. Her arms encircled around my shoulders pulling me closer. I sighed on her lips feeling her body so close to mine. Her scent, her taste and her warmth all of it sending my heart into an overdrive. I pulled back first, as my lungs screamed for air. Her eyes fluttered open, brown gentle eyes bore into mine.
Her hands cupped my face, caressing my cheeks. Her eyes wandered on my face like engraving it into her memory, like seeing me - really seeing me for the first time, "You're gorgeous Bea." She whispered hoarsely.
I pulled her closer by her waist, "And you’re not so bad yourself." She smirked at me when her eyes met mine.
I caressed her waist as I meet her lips once again. Our kissed became more passionate as each seconds passed. She ignited a fire in me. I groaned when she peppered kisses on my neck towards my ear, "Bea..." She moaned, and like a switch something turned in me.
"Poppy you're killing me," I groaned.
She chuckled breathlessly on my ear. When she pulled back her brown eyes darkened, "Bea I need you."
My breath hitched, "Are you sure?"
Her eyes softened, a warm smile painted on her lips, "Yes, but only if you want me too."
"God, of course. I want you Poppy." I growled my last sentence.
I can feel her nails grazing my nape, "Bea, please..." She started grinding her hips on mine. Our lips met again. I felt her hunger as her lips left me bruised.
She teasingly bit my lower lip before letting my lips go, "Take me out of these clothes." She whimpered, breath tickling my lips. I obeyed immediately easing her out off her clothes.
I gaped at her my eyes raking over her, "Damn... you're stunning."
She stood up smirking at me before her eyes landed over me, "As much as I love seeing you in that," She held my hand pulling me up, "I need you to take that off."
I smirked, "Bossing me around even in bed huh?" I lifted my dress out of my body.
She grinned at me as she stepped closer. Her hand plucked playfully on my body chain, "I can't believe you're hiding this body."
I chuckled, "We have all night Poppy." I whispered on her lips.
"Where do you want me Bea?" She looked up.
I wrapped my arms around her waist, "Let me kiss you first." I murmured before capturing her lips. I let her enjoy my kisses before I teasingly pulled away. She huffed and pouted. I chuckled, eyes gleaming as I pushed her on the bed. I crawled on top of her. She encircled her arms around my shoulder pulling me closer as our lips met again.
I felt Poppy's hands everywhere on my body - caressing, grazing and squeezing every part of me she can reach. Her warmth was a constant reminder that this was real and her scent intoxicating my mind made me feel like it was just a fever dream, all at the same time. I trusted my body to move above her as I aligned our bodies. She gasped when my lower region touched hers.
"Bea..." She breathlessly whispered eyes dilated.
I peppered kisses on her leg that was lying on my shoulder. Her breath quickened. I felt her hand again. Searching and crawling from my stomach to my chest to my face - caressing and kneading.
Our bodies danced in sync to our own music in this bed. She met my every moved which made me groan, "Poppy..."
Our eyes locked - the intensity sending me waves of euphoria. Her breath hitched again, mouth open wide. Her voice lost into the waves of emotions I carved into her body.
"Bea. Bea. BEA." She chanted my name like a prayer as her body reached her peak.
I groaned as I feel her coming and sending me to my own peak. I bit her shoulders to muffle my scream. She groaned, yet I felt her fingers weaving through my brunette hair as I rode my orgasm.
I slumped on top of her, my face nuzzling on her neck. She continued to caress my back soothingly as we both regained our breaths.
After a while I heard her hoarse voice, "You were amazing Bea."
My chuckle came out muffled on her shoulder, "Another compliment from Poppy Min-Sinclair?"
I can hear the smile in her voice when she said, "No, just a compliment from me, Poppy."
I smiled planting a kiss on her neck, "Well I like both as long as it's from you."
I felt her arms wrapped around me hugging me. Silence engulfed us again. I sighed as I withdrew from the hug.
"As much as I love staying here I think it's time for me to go home. It's getting late."
She watched me as I stood up and get dressed. I was fixing my hair in front of her vanity mirror when she walked behind me, wearing a robe already and hugged me from behind. She nuzzled her face on my back. After I was finished making sure I don't look as messy as I was a few minutes ago I turned around to face Poppy.
She had a soft smile on her lips. Tip-toeing she leaned up and I met her half way into a kiss.
"Good Night Poppy." I whispered on her lips as I pulled back.
"Good Night to you too," She paused smirking, "Bea."
When I got home to my dorm, the lights were already out. Zoey was probably asleep already. It felt like I was riding on a cloud nine as I walked home tonight. Going to that club tonight I was trying not to expect too much, so going home knowing Poppy trusted me enough tonight. My heart felt so full, my soul soaring and my mind filled with thoughts of Poppy's kisses and... screams. I felt a smirk ghosting on my lips as I let myself reminisce what unfolded tonight.
As I got into my room I received a notification from the The T. My heart dropped to my stomach as I watched a hog calling video of mine back when I was in my parent's farm. The color on my face drained. I felt like my soul left my body and my strength gone in just a blink of an eye. I weakly sat on the foot of my bed, tears were already threatening to spill as I read the comments under the post.
It was mentioned in the post that it was sent by an anonymous, but my mind rushed into a one single name - Poppy? Like a glass - my trust and my heart came crushing from the cloud nine as I felt the weight of my conclusion.

End of Year Favs 2020
Rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose your 8 (ish) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome work!
Okay after very little thought, here are mine in no particular order.
Fall (TWC) - EBK wrote a love letter I adored so I gave this a go. It is more prose than love letter but oh well. I really enjoyed writing it and it pushed me from my comfort zone which is how I like to write. (amazing graphics created by the lovely @evilbunnyking).
Willing Theft (TWC) - First attempt at writing anything Mason related and again, another love letter like thing. But this one took me forever (for.ev.ah!) because my brain wouldn’t let the word count idea go.
Shared Bed (Blades) - One of my favorite tropes and one of the earliest Maiele fics I shared. This is probably still my favorite pairing to write and I don’t know that I’ll ever get over writing them. It is my not so guilty pleasure.
Brave (ACOR) - One of my favorite Choices books (probably fifth favorite actually) but one of my favorite MCs and favorite LIs. I enjoyed exploring the idea of bravery and what makes one brave with this fic. Plus the art by @somewillwin is just gorgeous!
First Date (FHR) - This came about after an always wonderful chat with a truly lovely individual and I absolutely had to write it. This is my favorite route in Fallen Hero so far and I’m looking forward to writing these two (three, sometime four) more often!
Introductions (TWC) - Detective Jason Lin is forced to officially introduce his boyfriend to Unit Bravo. I do so enjoy making things deliciously awkward.
Even So You (TWC) - A quick little thing and one of my most recent drabbles between Ava and @dottiechan’s Persephone. I liked the repetition I found when writing this one and any chance to throw Latin back in Ava’s face is great in my book! The phrase is “Love conquers all. Even so you, Ava.”
Art Based Series (TWC) - Anything Felix x Lucas related really. That pairing tops my list of favorite fics probably. But these fics based on @liquidxsin’s art are some of my favs. That and the fic The Color of Home. Or the Nap prompt I got. Or the Winter drabble. They are just a fun dynamic to explore.
Thank you so much for the tag @nataliesewll and @evilbunnyking!!
I’m late to this tag game so I don’t know who’s all been tagged but I’m gonna tag some (ignore if you’ve been tagged or just don’t wanna do this) @kittykatchoices @veeteeshirt @javsarts @itslaniquelove @smalltowndetective @callmeroo @callmebeem @storyofmychoices @specialistagent-m @amillionmoonsred @specialistagent-morgan and anyone else that wants to share your beautiful creations with me!!

The first steps to moving on
“Bea please,” Poppy whispers, a repentant look creeping up to her face as she looks away from her girlfriend. “It can’t wait.”
Bea sighs, her shoulders slumping as the last remains of her anger disseminates from her body. “Okay fine, lead the way babe.”
Poppy stiffens that the pet name but she doesn’t let her awkwardness slip as she leads Bea to a secluded classroom, far away from prying eyes. Both her and Bea turn to look at each other, and both simultaneously open their mouths to talk.
“I know you wanted to tell-”
“We need to talk-”
Both clamp their lips shut, a mutual smile playing on their lips as they look at one another.
“You go first,” Poppy gestures towards Bea, as she moves to sit on the edge of a desk.
Bea inhales softly, her tongue darts out licking her lips as she looks down at the ground, her face calculating. “Why does Chloe hate me?” She looks up to Poppy, her eyes boring into the strawberry blonde’s, sadness swimming inside of them, “I just don’t get what I’ve done for her to hate me.”
Poppy sighs heavily, her eyes awkwardly darting away from Bea’s. “It’s complicated Bea.”
“Complicated?” Bea lets out a humourless laugh, “I almost just went off on Chloe after she gave her condolences for my mom dying because I just felt she wasn’t genuine and you wanna tell me it's complicated?”
Poppy sharply inhales, contemplating for a few moments before saying, “it’s because of your mom.”
Bea scrunches her brows up in confusion, “my mom? What the hell does she have to do with this?”
Poppy ineptly plays with her hands, not being able to look Bea in her eyes, “at first it was just a classist thing. When you first came to Belvoire, she just wanted to make herself feel superior over you, but in the last year you’ve noticed her getting more mean right?”
“Right.” Bea stares at Poppy, her expression emotionless.
“Chloe’s parents have been fighting non stop recently, and it’s been affecting her a lot.”
Bea’s brows furrow in confusion, “what does that have to do with me or my mom?”
“Just let me explain first before you react, please.” Bea’s eyes bore into Poppy’s for a few seconds before she nods understandingly. “Her dad cheated on her mom. A lot of times actually. But he was blackmailed by one of the women he slept with.” Poppy pauses for a few seconds, “your mom.”
Bea lets out a shaky breath, her eyes blinking in disbelief, “no, you’re lying.”
Poppy nervously bites her bottom lip, “look Bea-”
“How long have you known?”
Poppy’s face scrunches up in anger, “this isn’t my fault Bea. I only found out that day I went to talk to Chloe about us. Chloe made me promise not to say anything to you-”
“Poppy! My mom OD and I don’t even know why. And now you’re telling me she was blackmailing the St James family and it doesn’t occur to you that might have had something to do with her death?”
“They’re not the fucking mafia Bea, jesus. They were trying to settle it quietly by giving your mom some money and make her sign some stuff so she couldn't threaten them anymore.”
The devastating ramification of Poppy’s admission hangs in the air as the two girls let the words settle into them. “Chloe really is sorry about your mom Bea, we all are.”
Bea sighs, staring off into space, as a few tears begin to fill up in her eyes. “I just don’t know what to do.” Bea begins sniffling, but Poppy makes no movement to console her girlfriend. Bea notices and her expression sobers, “so, uh what did you wanna tell me?” Bea sniffs a few more times, before looking up at Poppy, giving her a small encouraging smile.
Poppy looks away, guilt creeping up on her face, as she tries her damndest not to catch Bea’s small smile on her face. “Bea…”. Bea carefully assesses her girlfriend’s demeanour, noticing the similar body language during when they first asked to take a break, she thinks back to the last couple of days, she had barely heard from her girlfriend, and now she’s not affectionate, even after she almost had a mental breakdown in the middle of the hallway and her smile drops. “We have to break up,” Poppy says, her tone so monotone and dry as if she didn’t mean the words she was saying at all.
“I don’t understand,” is all Bea can muster, evidently hurt by Poppy’s admission. Poppy winces slightly at Bea’s tone, finally breaking her robotic demeanour as she lets out a few sniffles. “So is that it? We have to break up,” Bea retorts mockingly, “is that all I get after all these years?”
“Bea..” Poppy reaches out but Bea immediately takes a step back, tears flooding in her eyes.
“No,” she holds her hands up, “I don’t get it, things are going good, or at least whatever twisted definition of good we’ve made up. Where the hell did this come from?”
“Bea my dad-”
“Of course! Hayden Min fucking Sinclair had something to do with this. Why do you still live under his shadow? You talk all this shit about breaking out of your father’s prison and wanting to achieve your own goals but he sucks you back in.”
“That’s not fair Bea,” Poppy interjects, balling her hands up into fists in an attempt to subdue her trembling, “my dad has given me so much and he’s threatening to take it all away.”
“Yeah, all you have to do is get rid of me. Me or the Min Sinclair name.”
“Bea this is the life I have, okay I’m not like you, I’m not built like you.”
“So what? I can grow up without a dad and now without a mom but it’s okay because I’m used to pain and disappointment?”
“I didn’t mean it like that, you have a plan, things you can achieve, I need the Min Sinclair name, I’m nothing without it.”
“Wow.” Bea shakes her head, “So I just meant nothing?” Bea wildy throws her arms in the air, anger bubbling under the surface of her demeanour. “We’ve practically been together since we were kids. And you’re just gonna fucking throw that away? And for what? Fuck you Poppy.”
Poppy takes half a step back, dumbfounded by Bea’s outburst. She scrunches her brows, evidently hurt, “you don’t get it Bea. Even though your mom wasn’t the best, she still supported you, even if you didn’t know about it. My dad he- my mom what would she think?”
“Your mom? Poppy what kind of shit is your dad brainwashing you with? Your mom is dead! You have no idea how she would react to having a gay daughter, but I know she’s probably disappointed in you.”
“Fuck you Bea.”Poppy runs out of the classroom, tears streaming down her face, leaving Bea on her own.
“Shit,” Bea whispers to herself before throwing a bunch of punches at the wall, each more cathartic than the last until she can’t physically hold herself up anymore. Bea defeatedly slides into a chair, cradling her head in between her hands, letting the tears free fall, as reality begins setting in that she lost the one thing in the world that was her everything. Poppy Min Sinclair was her rock, the girl who she gave her heart to, the love of her life and just in a matter of moments it was over. Maybe it was too good to be true. The beautiful, perky popular rich girl and the girl who had almost nothing, complete polar opposites, it never should’ve worked. But time and time again when faced against the world they persevered so why was this time different? Poppy had chosen her namesake over the love of her life. She chose the life of glitz and glamour over the girl who gave her her entire heart. Bea feels her entire world crashing down, how much more heartbreak could she take? Was her life always going to be so hard? So full of hurt? Full of pain? She winces at the thought, her head hammering as she comes to the realisation that she understood her mother’s pain more than she thought.
….
Bea hops off her bike, parking it in front of her house, as she pulls her phone out to look at the time. ‘It’s lunch time,’ she thinks to herself. After the day she had today, school wasn’t the best option for her right now. She makes her way to her front door but stops in her tracks when she realises her front door is slightly ajar. Her survival instincts kick in as she effortlessly pulls out her pocket knife, carefully pushing the door fully open. As she steps into the living room, her eyes dart to the closed door of her mother’s room, but when she hears a creaking sound coming towards her bedroom, she cautiously moves towards the source of the noise, the grip on her knife tightening. As she creeps up, she sees the door of her room half opened, a hooded figure standing by her bed with their back facing her.
Bea stealthily sneaks up to the figure placing the knife a few inches from their throat before lowering her voice to a threatening tone, “who are you and what the fuck are you doing?” The figure gasps, dropping a bag that’s in their hands with a deafening thud before raising their hands in a sign of surrender.
“It’s me, it’s me,” the voice whimpers out.
“AJ?” Bea raises her eyebrows, retracting the knife from his throat while pulling down his hood with her other hand. “What the fuck are you doing?” Bea takes a step back while AJ scrambles grabbing the bag he just dropped moments before. When he turns to face Bea, his eyes are wide, filled with fear as he clutches the bag closely to his chest.
“I have to go,” he says as he attempts to run out of the room, but Bea pulls him back, her face crumpled in suspicion.
“No we’re not doing this, give me the bag now,” Bea snatches the bag out of his hands before he can protest and opens the zipper to find it filled with cash. She grits her teeth, anger settling into her features as she whips her head up to AJ, “is this my fucking money?”
“Bea, I- I can explain-”
“What the fuck AJ!” Bea throws the bag onto the bed, the cash spilling out as she jabs an accusing finger at AJ’s chest. “You’re stealing from me now? I haven’t seen you in god knows how long, you don’t call, text nothing. Even after everything that’s been happening in the last few weeks but you have the audacity to fucking steal from me? Money that I’ve spent years saving? Money that I’ve bussed my fucking ass off for, are you serious right now?” Bea’s voice is filled with rage as she’s practically screaming, her voice now thundering. AJ winces, guiltily averting his gaze to the ground, unable to meet Bea’s eyes.
“I’m sorry about your mom Bea, I wanted to visit-” AJ croaks out.
“But you didn’t,” Bea interjects, her voice lowered but filled with hurt. “And now you’re taking money- I mean what is so important you had to steal from me.”
AJ paces towards the bed, hanging his head in shame, when he speaks his voice is quiet, full of fear, “I’m in some bad shit Bea. These guys aren’t playing around.”
“I told you not to fall into the wrong crowd, I warned you this shit would happen.”
“Bea please, I’ll pay you back I just need it.”
“No! What the fuck, when will you pay me back huh? This is my college money, I’m not letting you give that away to your crackhead friends.”
“Bea please,” AJ clasps his hands together, his tone pleading, “I don’t know what to do.”
“AJ I have too much shit on my plate right now, I can’t deal with this. You need to find something else, I can’t help you.”
AJ’s face pales but he stands up, and makes his way towards the door, before leaving he turns to look back at Bea, “I’m sorry about everything.”
Bea keeps her eyes trained on her bed where the money is sprawled all over the mattress, “yeah me too,” she replies quietly. Bea hears the front door close and she collapses to the ground, letting the tears flow.
……
A few days later, Bea sits in her dark living room, curtains shut and lights completely off as she wallows in her sadness, drinking from a bottle of cheap beer, as she stares absentmindedly at the ceiling, so drowned in her thoughts she doesn’t hear the resounding knocks on her door until she hears a voice call out, “Bea! Are you there?”
Bea crumples her brows, forcing herself to stand as she makes her way to the door, she wearily makes her way to her front door only slightly opening the door before poking her head out. “Veronica?” Veronica gives the girl a wide smile before pushing the door more open, ushering the figure behind her into the house too, “Carter? What are you guys doing here?’
Veronica looks around the dark room, noticing the pile of empty beer bottles on the floor, “yikes, drinking on your own on a friday night Hughes? That’s really sad.” Carter stands near the edge of the living room, as if he’s an explorer, his eyes darting all over the living room as he assesses this new environment.
Bea on the other hand scowls at Veronica, “what the hell do you want Veronica, I’m not in the mood.”
Veronica frowns slightly, pouting her lips together, “we heard about you and Poppy.”
Bea rolls her eyes, “yeah well I’m trying to forget about her.” Bea picks up her beer bottle from the ground and makes a show by exaggeratingly drinking from the bottle until it's empty. She discards the empty bottle along with the other ones before turning to look at Veronica and Carter, “so if you’ll excuse me.”
Veronica steps towards Bea, wrapping her hand around the brunette’s arm, “we’re not here for Poppy stupid, we’re here for you.”
Bea raises an eyebrow, “for me?”
Veronica turns to look at Carter, beckoning him forward, Carter breaks out of reverie and clears his throat, “yeah uh, we wanted to take you to a party.”
“A party?” Bea looks between them confused, “I’m not that interested guys.”
“Wait, wait, wait Bea,” Veronica pleads, pulling Bea closer to her, “you’ve never been to a Belvoire party and the year is almost over, we thought we should take you to at least.”
“I don’t know guys,” Bea says skeptically, “a lot of people don’t like me.”
“Who gives a shit? You just had your heart broken and you need to let loose.”
Bea sighs, pulling away from Veronica, “I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Come on, it beats drinking in the dark on your own.”
Bea sighs, dropping her shoulders, “what about uh Poppy?”
“Poppy?” Veronica arches a brow, “her and Chloe are staying in tonight, she said she needed to catch up on homework or something.”
Bea purses her lips together in thought before sighing,  “fine.” Veronica cheers, “but,” Bea over enunciates, “only for a few hours and if I don’t like it I’m going home.”
“Okay, deal,” Veronica squeals, wrapping Bea in a big hug. Carter chuckles as Veronica gestures for him to join the hug, he awkwardly wraps his arms around the two girls, before pulling away.
“Okay, I’ll wait in the car while you girls get ready. Just uh don’t take too long.”
Veronica playfully rolls her eyes as she Bea towards her bedroom, yelling back “thanks Carter.” Giddy, she rushes to Bea’s closest, assessing her clothes until she finds a short red dress hidden in the back. “This!”
“No, no, no,” Bea shakes her head, pulling the dress out of the ombre-haired girl’s hands.
“Why not? It would look so hot on you,” Veronica’s eyes trail down Bea’s body, as she sharply inhales. “Bea, you’re single and sexy, stop holding yourself back okay?”
“I’m not,” Bea pushes back defensively, “I just-” she sighs heavily, “no one at Belvoire has ever seen me dressed up, I’m just- I’m nervous I guess.”
“Then we have to show them what they’ve been missing for the last three years,” Veronica gives Bea a devilish smile as she takes the dress from Bea’s hands, sliding the dress off the hanger before handing it over to Bea.
“Uh you gonna stay in the room?” Bea nervously wrings her hands together.
“Why, are you offering a show?” Veronica lifts a teasing brow, noticing Bea’s cheeks redden slightly, which prompts her to let out a small laugh, “I’m kidding, don’t worry I won’t look.” Veronica makes a show of raising her hands to cover her eyes. Bea laughs as she slips out of her clothes and into the dress, she awkwardly clears her throat, grabbing Veronica’s attention.
“Hey, uh help a girl out with her zipper?”
“Sure,” Veronica moves to stand behind Bea, her hands ghosting around Bea’s exposed back, her breath momentarily taken away. She sturdies herself and places one of her hands on the small of the brunette’s back while the other moves towards the zipper, zipping the girl up. Bea smooths the dress down with her hands appreciating herself in the mirror, “you look gorgeous,” Veronica whispers into the shell of her ear.
Bea’s face completely flushes red and slightly jerks at Veronica’s admission, “uhh thanks.”
Veronica notices the awkward shift in the atmosphere, and promptly changes the subject, “so where’s your sister?”
Bea sits in front of her mirror, a comb in her hand as she brushes her long locks, “she’s staying at a friend’s tonight.”
“Cool,” Veronica answers back but her tone falls flat. The girls bask in the awkward silence as Bea continues to get ready but when Veronica notices Bea struggling to do her winged eyeliner she breaks the silence. “Hey do you need help?”
Bea smiles bashfully, “yeah.” She rubs the back of her head with her hand, “sorry Poppy used to help me with my makeup.”
“Right,” Veronica’s face slightly falls but she quickly covers it up, ushering Bea to come and sit on the bed. “Come on, I don’t bite,” Veronica bites the bottom of her lip, “unless you want me too.” Bea laughs but obliges sitting on the edge of the bed. Veronica clambers onto her lap, her thighs settling on the sides of Bea’s legs, and in response, Bea’s eyes widen in surprise but she remains glued in her spot, too shocked to move.
“V, what are you doing?” Bea whispers, her voice attempting to come across as reprimanding but it comes out as breathy.
“Relax, I’m just doing your eyeliner.” Veronica plucks the wand from Bea’s hand and angles herself close to the brunette’s face, as she begins drawing on the wings on Bea’s eyelids. Bea steadies herself, as she feels the heat of Veronica’s body so close to hers and when Veronica is finished with putting the finishing touches on her eyelids, she hops off Bea’s lap, making her way towards the desk, scuffling through Bea’s makeup bag before taking up her place on Bea’s lap once again. “Now I think this colour would look good on you,”
“You don’t think it’s too much red?”
“Oh babe, red means power, dominance, you don’t wanna be thinking about Poppy the entire night, you wanna have all eyes on you Bea Hughes.” Veronica uncaps the lipstick, her eyes burning into Bea’s lips as she carefully applies the red colour to her lips. “Perfect.”
Bea smacks her lips together, evenly spreading the red on her lips. “Thanks V.”
Veronica’s eyes dart to Bea’s lips, her tongue slightly running along her bottom lips before she breaks out of her reverie flashing Bea a smirk, “don’t thank me yet, thank me when you’re having the time of your life at the party.” Veronica slides off Bea’s lap, holding her hand out, “come on let’s finish up because Carter’s been waiting for a while.” Bea smiles up at Veronica, taking her hand as she lets the ombre-haired girl pull her off the bed, as they continue getting ready.
………
Once they arrive at the party, Carter drops the girls off at the front of the huge house before telling them he will park the car. Veronica’s gaze darts to Bea, who’s nervously toying with her hands, looking up at the intimidating house, the lights blaring and as the music echoes throughout, the bass thumping in their ears. Noticing the nerves settling into her, Veronica slips into Bea's, giving her a reassuring squeeze, “hey, it’s okay, it’s just a bunch of drunk, preppy uptight teenagers, nothing you don't usually face everyday.”
Bea lets out a small laugh, “just in a big ass house,” she jests.
“Yeah, just in a big ass house,” she gives Bea a light squeeze as she starts pulling Bea into the house with her. Automatically, they’re met with stares and whispers, as the students look astonished at Bea, some appraising her outfit, while others are confused about her presence. “Hey, just stay with me okay?” Veronica whispers over to Bea. Bea nods, her eyes roaming the room. “I’ll get us drinks.” The ombre-haired girl gives Bea a reassuring pat on her arm and leaves her side and Bea walks into the living room, observing the difference between the vibes of the party between the north and the south. Her thoughts then move to think about Poppy, how Poppy would love going to parties in the north but Bea couldn’t find the appeal in it. Poppy. Poppy, who broke up with her. She’s interrupted from her thoughts by a tap of her shoulder, and Bea turns around to see Veronica offering her a red solo cup, Bea takes a sip and winces.
“What the hell is this crap?”
“Yeah for a bunch of rich kids, their taste in beer isn’t the best,” Veronica jokes, slightly nudging Bea.
“We have way better beer in the south side.”
“That I can agree with.” Veronica looks over to Bea who looks lost in thought, “hey what are you thinking about?”
Bea sighs heavily, “Poppy,” she mutters.
Veronica nods once, “right, yeah.”
“Poppy would’ve loved a party like this, big fancy house an-”
“Bea,” Veronica says, her tone slightly agitated, “this,” she gestures around the room, “is a no Poppy zone. That means we don’t think about Poppy, only about fun.”
Bea nods, “fun. I can do that.” Veronica lifts her cup in the air, “what are we cheering to?”
Veronica gives Bea a smile, “here’s to the first steps in moving on.” The girls tap their cups together before downing their drinks. “Now if we wanna get drunk, we’re gonna need a lot more of these.”
The party is still ongoing, and Bea sits in a circle with a few girls from the volleyball team and a few of the football team and other people she doesn’t recognise while Veronica sits beside her.
“Bea you look so pretty,” one of her teammates says.
“Yeah Bea your makeup is literally gorgeous,” another chimes in.
“Who knew strip tease can clean up well,” Ford jests, but Bea slumps her shoulders a little, remembering that these people are not her friends.
Carter enters the circle slapping Ford on the head as he goes, “shut up, Hughes is cool.” Bea gives Carter a nod of appreciation before looking down at the drink in her hands. Her thoughts move a million miles a minute, but there’s a constant one stuck in her brain, Poppy.
Veronica looks over at Bea, frowning. “Hey come with me.” She stands, excusing herself from the group and Bea follows her close behind.
“Where are we going?”
“We’re gonna play a private game of truth or drink.”

*Flashback*
After the Christmas Party, the lines between Poppy’s rules had been beginning to blur, with the two women meeting up more often and Poppy would even sneak over to Bea’s dorm, granted if Zoey wasn’t there. Poppy would let Bea stay for cuddling, for they would skip sex and go straight to just holding each other in either comfortable silence or talk about anything and everything.
“So where’s new money?” Poppy takes the hood of her coat, as she enters the dorm, conspicuously glancing around the apartment.
“She’s gone to LA for a bit to be with her mom. Come let’s go to my room.” Bea nods towards the strawberry blonde, and Poppy saunters past her, already on her way to the room. Bea follows, a wolfish grin on her face as she pushes Poppy against her bedroom door, placing her lips against hers, for a long kiss.
“Eager are we Farmsville?” Poppy breaks the kiss, her eyes burning into Bea’s, her eyes gleaming with amusement. Bea answers with a kiss, her fingers gripping at Poppy’s sides, as her eyes burn with desire. Bea leads her to the bed, pushing the strawberry blonde onto the bed before covering her body with hers, already locked in a passionate embrace.
“Bea…” Poppy moans out, as Bea scrapes her teeth against her neck, before softly biting down. Bea smiles against her neck, kissing up to her jaw, her eyes meet Poppy’s, full of admiration. She leans down, nipping at Poppy’s lips as her hands find her way under her clothes, stroking the junctures of her hips eliciting goosebumps. She makes quick word of stripping Poppy of her clothes, before taking off her own, wildly throwing them around the bedroom as she kisses Poppy with great intensity. Bea presses her knee between Poppy’s legs, as Poppy slowly rocks her hips against it, deepening the friction. “God!” Poppy screams out, as Bea begins alternating between kissing and biting as she moves down her body, until her head lies between the strawberry blonde’s legs.
Bea slowly rubs Poppy’s thighs, slowly pulling them apart as she gives a teasing lick to her inner thigh, evoking a sharp intake of breath from Poppy. “Do you like that?” Poppy violently nods her head, her fingers intertwining in Bea’s hair, pulling her head closer. Bea begins sucking lightly at Poppy’s button, her fingers teasing Poppy’s entrance before dipping inside, pumping in and out. Poppy’s toes curl as she lets out a loud moan, her head thrown back.
The room is quiet, excluding the heavy panting of the two women, as Bea moves up onto the bed, her arm snaking around Poppy’s waist, pulling her closer. Poppy subconsciously begins drawing lazy shapes against Bea’s stomach, lost in thought.
“You okay?”
“Hmm?”
“Are you okay?”
Poppy shudders, moving closer to Bea, “just a little cold.”
“I can fix that,” Bea shuffles off her bed, moving towards her closet before pulling a hoodie off a hanger before throwing it at the strawberry blonde, “here.”
“I’m not wearing that.”
“Fine stay cold.” Bea nonchalantly shrugs before getting back into the bed.
Poppy stares at the hoodie, contemplative for a few moments, before sighing heavily, before sliding off the bed, putting the hoodie on. She pulls down at the hem slightly, the size of the hoodie making her seem smaller than usual.
Bea’s eyes languidly roams Poppy’s body, “see, fit for a queen.”
*Present*
Over the next couple of months, Bea and Poppy had been going on more dates, enjoying each other’s company and reigniting their past passion while exploring the new depths of their relationship. However it wasn’t always good, old habits die hard and with Poppy and Bea, they had a lot of bad habits.
“I just don’t get why it’s such a big deal!” Bea runs a tired hand over her face, clearly drained from the argument.
Poppy huffs, standing a little straighter, anger written all over her face, “because it is! Excuse me if I don’t want my personal life advertised to the world.”
“You do that everyday on your Picta. Just admit it, you don’t want people to know we’re dating, just like in college.”
“God can you let that go? We were different people back in college, it’s not the same thing.” Poppy clenches her jaw, balling her fists up as she stares down Bea, not willing to back down.
Bea holds eye contact for a few more moments before breaking it, training her eyes to the ground. “I don’t want to keep fighting,” she mumbles out before stalking towards the front door, opening it.
“Where are you going?” Poppy asks, her voice quiet.
Bea sighs, her body visibly deflating, “I just need some air.” She walks through the door, closing it behind her, not waiting to hear Poppy’s response. She walks through the streets of New York until she finds herself standing in front of Zoey’s apartment, and after some slight hesitation, she knocks. After a few seconds, the door opens and Zoey looks over at Bea, her brows creased in confusion.
“Hey girl, is everything okay?”
Bea blinks back a couple of tears, her voice breaking, “can I come in?”
“Yes of course,” Zoey moves out of the way, allowing Bea to come in, and gestures towards the couch before sitting on it. “Jesus Bea you look like hell, what happened?”
“Things with Poppy have been rough to say the least.” Zoey momentarily winces at the mention of Poppy but she quickly masks her loathing.
“What happened?”
“I wanted to post this cute picture of us on Picta but she started a fight saying she doesn’t want me to post it because she’s saying she’s not ready but we've been together for 5 months now.” Bea cradles her head in her arms, obviously tired. Zoey slides closer to her, rubbing comforting circles on her back.
“Hey, it’s okay,” Zoey speaks softly, her voice lulling Bea back into safety as she wraps her arms around her pulling her into a hug. “Look, I don’t want to say I told you so…” Bea groans, evoking a laugh from Zoey. “Come on, I told you this would happen, it’s just like college.”
*Flashback*
Bea knocks on Poppy’s bedroom door and a few seconds later the strawberry blonde opens it, a stunned look on her face.
“Hughes? What are you doing here?”
Bea walks into the room, her smile on her face, so broad as she turns to look at Poppy, “I was thinking-”
“About?”
“About us.” Poppy raises an eyebrow, the rest of her facial expression stoic. “Be my date to the end of year gala.”
Poppy lets out a humourless laugh, “it’s official, you’ve gone crazy.”
Bea moves forward taking Poppy’s hands in hers, “just hear me out.” Bea takes a deep breath, before her eyes meet Poppy’s, “we have this thing going on between us and it’s been amazing but to take the next step. I want Belvoire to know that I’m with the most beautiful girl.”
Poppy slips her hands out of Bea’s hands, crossing them over her chest, “there’s no us.”
Bea’s facial expression falters, the wide smile transforming into a disappointed frown, “I don’t understand.”
Poppy feels a pang in her heart as she watches Bea’s face fall, but she finds a tiny strand of anger in her body and she holds onto it, attempting to make this encounter easier for her to bear. “There isn’t an us, what’s hard to understand Farmsville?” Poppy makes her voice as blunt and monotone as possible as she shoots daggers into Bea’s eyes.
“What about the last year? What about everything we’ve gone through?”
“Stop using words like us and we!” Poppy shouts, wildly throwing around her arms, “it was literally sex, it doesn’t mean anything.”
Bea bites down on her bottom lip, “just sex huh? I don’t believe it. What about the nights you asked me to stay, or the nights we talked. You’re saying they meant nothing to you?” Poppy sees the sadness swimming in Bea’s eyes, forcing her to turn away from the girl, her eyes trained on the ground.
“It didn’t mean anything to me,” Poppy mumbles out.
“Bullshit! I don’t believe that Pops.”
“Don’t call me that! We aren’t anything, Farmsville and I certainly don’t want to be your stupid date to the gala.”
“I don’t believe you, look me in my eyes Poppy and tell me that it never meant anything and I swear-” Bea swallows heavily, tears brimming in her eyes, “I swear I’ll walk out right now and I won’t ever bother you again.” Bea steps in front of Poppy, her head levels with hers as Poppy meets her eyes. “So?”
Poppy trembles slightly, as her fingers toys with the hem of her top, “it meant nothing to me.”
Bea nods in understanding, acceptance written on her face “okay.” She sniffles, wiping away the tears from her eyes, “have a nice life Poppy.” Bea walks out of the room, not bothering to look back.
*Present*
“That was different Zo.”
“How so?” Zoey raises an eyebrow.
“That was when we were all worried about rankings and sabotage and all those petty things.”
“Are you sure she still doesn’t care about things?” Bea playfully nudges Zoey, laughing slightly.
“Yes I’m sure. It’s just I don’t get what the problem is this time. I mean college was a tough time for us both but now, I don’t get why she’s so hesitant.”
“Commitment issues?”
Bea shakes her head, “she seems pretty committed to me, she just doesn’t like being open.”
“Whatever it is I know you’ll guys will work it out, and if you don’t then at least you can move on.” Bea stares off into the distance, silent. “Bea, hey I was kidding.”
Bea gives a small smile that doesn’t reach her eyes, “yeah I know. Anyway enough about my problems, are you excited for your album coming out.”
Zoey squeals, jumping up and down in her spot, “yes! Oh my god I can’t believe it’s out in a week. How’s the release party looking?”
“I got us a great place at a club.”
“VIP?”
“VIP treatment baby!” Bea cheers, pulling Zoey into a hug.
…..
Slightly buzzed, the group make their way to the club, all in high spirits as they skip the line after showing their IDs and making their way to the VIP section. Bea sidles up to the bar, ordering shots for the entire team as they gather around the woman of the hour at the other side of the club.
Once the tray of shots is delivered, Bea hands them out, before taking the last one, raising it in the air, “Let’s all raise our glasses for this incredible woman, who’s hours away from releasing her first ever album worldwide,” Bea gestures for everyone to lift their glasses, a wide smile on her face, “here’s to you Zoey Wade.” The group throws back the shot and begins cheering for Zoey. “Speech, speech, speech” Bea chants as the rest of the group follows suit, their attention focused on Zoey as they clap and cheer.
Zoey awkwardly smiles, clearly bashful. “I never really thought I would be able to make a name for myself outside of my mom and I’m just thankful and grateful for my amazing team who helped me get my feelings out and make incredible songs out of them.” The group laughs whole heartedly, and Zoey raises her drink in toast. “So this isn’t only a celebration for me, but a celebration for us all, so let’s party it up.” She throws back the shot, and everyone follows suit cheering as they do.
“You didn’t have to do all of this Bea,” Zoey says sheepishly.
“Ummmmm of course I did, my best friend is releasing an album! I know how hard you’ve worked on it Zo, if anyone deserves to celebrate it’s you.” Bea pulls Zoey in for a hug.
“This club is great, how did you find it?”
“Poppy owns it.” Zoey's face falls, “Hey, she offered to the party to be held here, a way to say sorry for everything at college.”
“So where is the queen b right now?”
“Right here.” Poppy walks over to the girls, taking her place next to Bea. “I’m really happy for you Zoey, if anyone deserves this, it’s you.”
“Thanks.”
Bea looks between the girls, sensing the awkward tension between the girls augmenting. “Hey why don’t I get us some drinks?”
“Sure.” Poppy gives a small smile as Bea walks over to the bar before awkwardly turning to face Zoey. The pulsating music from the club causes Zoey to lean closer to Poppy.
“Whatever you have going on with Bea, you better not break her heart.”
“I won’t,” Poppy replies, “I care about her a lot.”
“Sure you do, but we’re not at Belvoire anymore. No more games Poppy, I won’t let you hurt her again.”
“Trust me when I say that’s the last thing I want.”
Before Zoey can reply, Bea saunters back holding out shot glasses for Zoey and Poppy to take. The women throw back the shot before Bea turns to Poppy whispering in her ear, “dance with me?”
Poppy looks at Zoey in the corner of her eye before replying, “sure.” Bea leads her into the middle of the crowded dance floor, pulling the strawberry blonde close to her body, wrapping her arms around her waist while Poppy’s hang around her neck.
Bea lets out a small laugh, “what’s so funny?” Poppy inquires, raising a brow.
“Nothing, just looking at how far we’ve come. You remember the first time we were in this club together?”
Poppy hums in content, “I recruited you to help me take down Chloe.”
Bea leans down to whisper in Poppy’s ear, “and then you dragged me onto the dance floor. Practically couldn’t keep your hands off me.”
“If I’m remembering correctly, you slept with me so you could backstab me.”
Bea’s grip on Poppy tightens, “mmh, I did want to get revenge yes, but I’m pretty sure you were the one who suggested sex in the first place.”
Poppy laughs, “you might be remembering that wrong.”
“Pretty sure I’m not,” Bea leans in to give Poppy a sweet kiss, until Poppy abruptly pulls away, pressing her lips together in a thin line.
“Bea we’re in public.”
“So? We don’t know anyone here.”
“I invited Veronica and Chloe to be here tonight, they could be anywhere.” Poppy pulls herself away from Bea, “I’m going to get a drink, do you want one?”
“Nah I’m good you go ahead without me.” Poppy heads over to the bar as Bea makes her way back to the VIP section, seeing a small group forming. “Hey what’s going on here?”
“Bea!” Veronica aims her phone at Bea, a wide smile on her face.
“Hey V,” Bea gives the ombre-haired girl a one armed hug, “how’s everything been?”
Veronica turns off her phone, a tired look on her face, “Good, tired but life has been good.”
“How’s life been for you Farmsville?”
“It’s been great, I’m still waiting on you to do your review on my new restaurant.”
“Ah so the truth comes out, you only wanted me in New York for clout.”
“Hey Poppy invited you here to celebrate Zoey, and get some clout of her own for her club.”
“Hey Farmsville!” Chloe stumbles towards the girls, pulling Veronica and Bea into a strong hug slightly spilling her drink on Bea as she does.
“Chloe! You seem drunk,” Bea swipes at her shoulder, cleaning off the liquor.
“Yeah these drinks are awesome,” Chloe hangs her tongue open, fumbling with the straw until it’s in her mouth. “Hey where’s new money? I think she has been avoiding me since I sent her over my newest clothing line.”
“Hey Chloe? Did you ever think to become a dance choreographer? I mean you practically lead the Zeta girls back in college, why not do it now.”
Chloe stares at Bea, deep in thought, “maybe you’re not full of bad ideas.”
Chloe saunters off deep in thought as Zoey lumbers into the group, carefully looking around, “is she gone?”
Veronica snorts, “yeah yeah, she’s gone now. Hey there’s Poppy.” Veronica waves her over and Poppy walks over to the group, her eyes conspicuously trying to not look at Bea.
“Hey V, remember to get good shots of the dance floor and on the bar.”
Veronica rolls her eyes, “yeah, yeah,” her eyes dart between Poppy and Bea, watching as the two girls try not to look at each other. She then looks over Zoey, silently gesturing between the girls. Zoey gives a subtle nod, and Veronica grins. “I need a drink, Poppy join me?”
“Sure.”
The girls move towards the bar where Veronica turns towards the strawberry blonde, a sly smirk on her face, “So. You seeing anyone?”
Poppy huffs, “here and there. I like to keep my options open.”
“So the fact that Bea is staring right at us, has nothing to do with anything?”
Poppy freezes as Veronica grins at her, “I don't know what you’re talking about.”
“Come on don’t lie to me. I know you guys were screwing each other during senior year.”
“What? No we weren’t.”
“Let's cut all of the false bullshit, come on, what’s going on with you guys?”
Poppy sighs defeatedly, “Fine, we’ve been seeing each other for the last couple of months but it’s like I’m destined to screw up my own life.”
“What do you mean?”
“Bea is amazing, I just sometimes don’t think I deserve her.”
“Nah, nah, nah, none of that depressing crap P. You deserve to find someone who makes you happy and I’ve been here what five minutes? I can practically sense the love already, go and talk to her and fix whatever you messed up.”
“How do you know I’m the one who messed it up?”
“Because if it was Bea she would’ve fixed it already, now go.”
Veronica shoos Poppy away as the strawberry blonde sidles up to Bea, whispering in her ear, “come somewhere quiet with me?” Bea nods as she follows Poppy to the back office, muffling the sounds of the music.
“So what’s up?” Bea crosses her arms together, looking expectedly at Poppy.
“I don’t like this rift between us, and I know it’s my fault I just-” she sighs heavily, hanging her head in defeat, “i haven’t ever properly done the whole relationship thing and I don’t want to mess it up but it seems like that’s all I’m doing.”
Bea uncrosses her arms, reaching out to place her hand against Poppy’s cheek, “you’re not messing up anything. We just need better communication.”
“Bea, I know in the past I treated you like crap and I don’t even know why you want to be with me.” Bea opens her mouth to retort but Poppy shushes her, “let me finish. I don’t know why you still want to be with me but I’m so grateful that you do. I have something to admit to you.”
“What is it?”
“When I went to your restaurant, it wasn’t a coincidence.” Poppy takes a slow steadying breath, before her eyes meet Bea’s, “Veronica dropped that you asked her to give your restaurant a review so I subtly told Darren’s best friend about it so he could recommend it to Darren and I could come and see you.” Bea looks at Poppy in surprise, her mouth hanging slightly open. “I tried acting all cold and distant but in reality I was happy to see you and when you kissed me I was surprised. I didn’t expect you to still have feelings for me, so I got my father to hire your company last minute for the dinner.”
Bea lets out a small huff, “once a schemer huh?”
Poppy nervously chews on her lips, worry etched on her face, “the reason why I’ve been acting so weird is because I love you Bea Hughes, I always have. And for the first time, I’m not scared of admitting that I-” Bea silences Poppy with a deep kiss, tangling their tongues together as Bea’s hand snakes around Poppy’s throat, squeezing slightly as she kisses her harder.
“I love you too.” Bea continues kissing Poppy, with great intensity but Poppy pulls away resting her forehead against Bea’s.
“Do you have your phone?”
“Uhh yeah.”
Bea takes her phone out of her purse and Poppy takes it out of her hand, swiping to the camera, “smile,” Poppy presses her lips against Bea’s cheek, taking a series of photos before swiping through them looking for the best one. “This one.”
“What do you want me to do with it?” Bea replies, confused.
“Post it on picta, duh. I want the world to know I’m dating the most incredible girl.” Bea feels a warmth in her chest as she uploads the photo before taking Poppy’s hand re-entering the club.
“I saw the picta post, I guess congrats are in order.” Veronica smiles at the girls while Poppy looks around and locks eyes with Zoey who gives her a small nod, content. Poppy pulls Bea in for a kiss, a smile on her lips.
“I love you Bea Hughes.”
“And I love you Poppy Min Sinclair.”
Chloe stalks up to the group, waving her phone in her hand, “you’re dating Bea? Seriously?”
Poppy looks up at Bea, warmth in her eyes, “Yep I sure am.”

ROSIE POV
It's been hours since Rosie has been driving off to New York to get to Belvoire, and as soon as she gets there everything seems so large and she felt insignificant, so many skyscrapers looming around her, making her feel small. However, she feels a strange sense of wanderlust and curiosity for the new place around her. "Look out Belvoire, here I come." thought Rosie.
As soon as she reaches Belvoire her mouth gapes at the sheer size of the campus, it's everything she imagined but at the same time it's got her feeling anxious, like the feeling where your stomach feels hollow and butterflies just flutter. Don't get her wrong, Belvoire was beautiful but in that kind of intimidating way.
'Why do I suddenly remember that girl from my dream?' thought Rosie, as she suddenly feels a surge of pain that comes as soon as it goes. She shakes her head and tries to focus on taking in Belvoire. She can feel her hands get clammy whilst the anxiety seeps in but she takes a deep breath and everything falls into place. The most surprising thing was that people already seemed to know her. Rosie could hear a few people murmur in the crowd as she walked past.
"Wow, I thought The T was joking when they said that the new girl comes from a small town, but they weren't exaggerating. O M G! Even her sneakers are off brand." says one girl. "Tragic. Or is that what they call ranch couture these days?" adds another.
Rosie walks around, ears and face red in embarrassment from the unwanted comments and attention. 'If I was still back home I would have whooped their asses but I gotta play by the rules, considering I am the new girl.' She pushes through ignoring everyone with gritted teeth,  bags in tow ready to get to her dorm, until she's stopped by the welcoming committee. The guy looks bored and over the whole welcoming people thing, "Name?" he says, clearly lacking patience. Rosie rolls her eyes. "Hughes, Rosie Hughes." she says. He checks over the list, his eyes slowly looking through the list, and as soon as he finds her name and as soon as he does he waves one of the others in the welcoming committee as they help Rosie take her bags to her room.
On the way to her dorm room she bumps into a blonde girl, her platinum hair glistening against the natural light, whilst Rosie can't help but stare in awe. You know that slow-mo moment when you see someone and they're just goddamn beautiful. Even when they both fall on the floor, time moves so goddamn slowly and Rosie swears she's never seen anything as mesmerising, even the way this girl falls is nothing less than beautiful, gorgeous even.
As soon as they both hit the floor, Rosie gawks at the girl in front of her. 'Damn it Rosie! There goes your first impression, she's such a pretty girl too.' she berates herself. Clearing her head, Rosie gets up and offers a hand to the blond girl. The girl takes her hand but Rosie pulls with a bit too much force, thus making the platinum haired girl fall into her arms. Blushing Rosie profusely apologises "I am so sorry, I've bumped into you now I pulled too hard and I'm suddenly hugging you. I'm really sorry!" The girl giggles and raises her eyebrow at Rosie, "It's okay." she says with a sweet smile on her face.
Suddenly, a hint of deja-vu hits Rosie and a memory flashes quickly as her head begins to hurt again. Rosie groans in pain, while the other girl looks at her worried. "Are you okay? Do you need help?" said the girl.
Rosie just flashes a small smile, though it seems a little forced, her smile not quite reaching her eyes. The girl doesn't seem too happy with the answer as she says "I'm Chloe by the way." Rosie holds her hand out and introduces herself. "I'm Rosie, nice to meet you Chloe." 'The name suits her' she thinks.
Chloe looks at her wrist watch which catches Rosie's attention. 'A Rolex? Damn, I knew this was a rich kid school but a Rolex?' Chloe checks the times and rushes out of Rosie's grip, shooting her a small smile she walks off. "See you around Rosie!" she waves as she goes off in a rush and Rosie's just there shaking her head with a chuckle.
Rosie's left smiling as she walks over her dorm room, giddy about the day's event and the new person she met. She couldn't quite place it but the way Chloe acted reminded her of the girl she's been seeing in her dreams, the one that she can't quite seem to place but cannot forget either. She gives Rosie that warm fuzzy feeling, like they've met before, but one thing's for sure, she is definitely curious about Chloe.
Continuing to walk towards her dorm room, Rosie has a soft smile on her face. She's excited to know more about Chloe, she can’t help but feel happy around her. As soon as she gets to her dorm, she’s met by a tall, beautiful girl and Rosie can’t help but feel shocked. ‘Is this school full of gorgeous people? What the fuck?! Everyone legit looks like they should be walking down the runway for Chanel.’ She can’t help but stare, luckily her roommate seems to be one of the friendly ones. “Hi, I’m guessing that you’re supposed to be my roomie?” she says and Rosie manages to pull herself together. “Hi, I’m Rosie, your roommate.” she manages to say albeit a bit awkwardly. - Don’t get her wrong, Rosie’s not this shy, but she can’t help but feel like a wreck after seeing to gorgeous people one after the other is too much for her lil’ gay heart okay? - Her roommate laughs and asks “You good? Or do you need a breather?” and Rosie is just there stunned embarrassed as she must have been staring for a bit too long. “Sorry, I- it’s been a long day.” she explains dumbly while her roommate just shoots her a good natured smile as she says “I was kidding, I’m Zoey by the way, nice to meet you roomie.”
Rosie is about to go off and sulk in her room but Zoey seems adamant and determined to get to know her roommate for the year. “Rosie, before you go and sulk in your room, wanna walk around campus with me? I promise I don’t bite, plus it’d be a good way to get to know each other?” says Zoey. - On one hand Rosie is seriously tired and wants to do nothing but just take a long afternoon nap but on the other hand Zoey is genuinely trying to be friendly and she wouldn’t want to seem rude so she sighs and begrudgingly agrees. (shoutout to pixelberry if i was writing this for them it would be a diamond choice. no shade i just wanted to throw a joke lol)
As soon as she gets ready to go, Zoey looks at her with a questioning glance. “What?” asks Rosie as she looks at the other girl. “You’re not wearing that are you? Please don’t tell me you’re wearing that?” said Zoey. “There’s nothing wrong with what I’m wearing” she argues as Zoey just shoots her an unamused glance. “Girl, wearing that is like joining the mathletes in high school, it’s social suicide, especially in this school where everyone wears designer.”
“You’re not being serious right?” and a raised eyebrow and a wry smile is all she gets as a response. “I’m being serious, unless you want to get roasted while we walk around on campus you better wear something better than that.” she says, face serious.
Zoey manages to find a few clothes that can be passable, but she can’t help but think that it’s missing something. She quickly runs off and goes to her room, and as soon as she’s back she holds a brand new YSL bag as well as a matching belt. Rosie is then urged by Zoey to get dressed and she does as fast as she can, after she just wants to get it over and done with, but as soon as she gets dressed Zoey is shocked and quickly snaps a photo of Rosie. “Am I good or what?” she asks as she shows the photo she took.
Rosie sighs as she weakly says “I have no idea how to even go about dressing like the others in this school.” Zoey looks at her as she shoots up off of her seat, “I can help with that.” and the two basically rummage around to find something Rosie can wear so that she can fit in with the rest of the school.
She would be lying if she didn’t think she looked good, to be fair she actually looked like one of the Belvoire students, sure her clothes weren’t as expensive but goddamn Zoey was good. She couldn’t help the whistle that comes out of her mouth as she looks at the photo. Rosie gives Zoey a mumbled “Thanks”, as she scratches her cheek, a little embarrassed that she even doubted her roommate who is apparently a fashionista.
Zoey goes off to get changed so that both her and Rosie match, whilst Rosie is wearing mostly pastel colours, Zoey goes for the muted navy blues. Zoey takes a selfie and posts it on her Instagram, after all she didn’t go through all that work not to show off, especially since she knows they both look good.
POPPY POV
Another day, another façade she has to put up. The mental toll of having to act a certain way around Belvoire to show that she was untouchable and undisputed as the reigning queen bee of the campus was really getting to Poppy. It irked her to no end, every single day being a repeat of everything she hated, having to pretend to be mean just so she can be the best of the best.
On days like these Poppy wishes she can go back to her childhood, where times were simpler and she didn't have to have all the worries of peer pressure and everything else around her. But the one thing she missed the most was the person that just made her feel complete. 'If only Rosie was here then maybe I wouldn't be as miserable as I feel.' she thought as she got ready for the day, however Poppy couldn't help but reminisce about the memories of Rosie, her heart broke as she remembered how things ended. Whilst she did miss Rosie, she did feel a bit bitter since she didn’t hear anything from Rosie even as the years passed and she would be lying if she said that she didn’t feel hurt that the one person she loved hasn’t done anything to contact her. It’s not like she changed her home address or her phone number, so how come Rosie didn’t speak to her? It’s like she’s moved on and forgotten about her, and that hurts more than she thought it would, the idea of Rosie moving on and forgetting her just stings and it hurts to the point where she feels like she can’t breathe.
Remembering where she was, Poppy snaps out of her daydreams as she begins to put her makeup on as well as the rest of her ensemble. Pink puffy jacket with a matching skirt is notorious around campus as the outfit itself has cemented its place in the minds of the students of Belvoire. Poppy was the HBIC of Belvoire after all, but her reputation was far from angelic. One could say Poppy was like a siren, beautiful yet an encounter with one could lead to a whole world of hurt, or in Poppy's case a whole lot of verbal lashing out. Sure Poppy looks sweet and delicate but she’s far from it, the people who have been victims to her words would probably say that if the devil exists then it would be in the form of Poppy.
She looks at the clock in her room as she rolls her eyes, Chloe was late, again. Contrary to popular belief, the queen bee actually holds her second in command in high regard, despite all the harsh words. To others it might seem serious but Chloe knows that Poppy is all bark and no bite, especially since the two are actually quite close, and on days where Chloe does get hurt Poppy is quick to reconcile with Chloe by bringing her her favourite snacks or whatever managed to catch Chloe’s attention that week.
She quickly sends Chloe and Veronica a text, “Are you hoes dead? WTF, we were supposed to meet up like half an hour ago???” All she got in response was a gif of a girl rolling her eyes from Veronica and a “Sorry :(“ from Chloe. “Whatever, just hurry up you two, I need my coffee stat.” Veronica just responds with "Yes princess, we all know about how mean you can get without your coffee."
Sooner than later both Veronica and Chloe make it to Poppy's room where they see her looking as pristine as ever. "Yo Poppy, you ready to head out?" They ask and Poppy just looks them up and down. "The next time you're late I'm gonna kick you." The other two don't even pay attention to the threat because they both know Poppy wouldn't do that and they both know that deep down Poppy actually considers them to be her friends.
"Well, considering you're all made up and ready, we should probably head out and wait for that Taylor girl to get you your coffee." said Chloe. Poppy just gets up and leaves without a word while the other two follow.
They make it to the courtyard of the campus where Poppy is waiting for her non-fat, no foam skimmed milk latte, emphasis on the non-fat. That Taylor girl better have her coffee ready for her or there will be hell to pay, she is after all the queen bee and it'll do her well to learn.
Speaking of the devil, said girl is running towards them with her hands full of coffee and then she trips, bits of coffee going on Poppy's shoes. Faster than you can say Mississippi, a shriek can be heard all throughout the campus. Considering how loud it was one would think it was a banshee screaming, so imagine everyone's shock when it turns out that the sound was coming from our resident queen bee.
"Are you fucking kidding me?! You dropped my coffee on my new season Jimmy Choos, you had one fucking job Tana or whatever your name is? You're so fucking stupid, oh my fucking God!" she screams.
Chloe and Veronica just look by, both with a yikes expression, they weren't exaggerating when they said that Poppy without her coffee is really bad but adding stained shoes to the mix definitely did nothing to gain Taylor any favours right now. Especially since they know that it's the first time Poppy's ever worn those shoes and yeah they don't really think they can save Taylor from getting ripped a new one. Chloe and Veronica are sure as hell not gonna go over and save her because a) if they even tried it'd probably make the situation worse and b) in all honesty, they don't really want to face Poppy's wrath on a Sunday morning.
There were already a few students on campus with their phones out, probably ready to send it to the T or just post it on their story for a quick source of entertainment, some might say that it's cruel but that's just what happens when a bunch of 20 somethings are bored with nothing else to do, especially since they're not going to face any consequences, the most they'll probably get as punishment is a slap of the wrist. It's not fair but considering that Belvoire is filled with kids from high society it's no surprise that they don't face any consequences. In the case of the Min-Sinclair heiress, half the faculty is terrified, considering her parents donate the most money to the school and they don't really want to risk their jobs.
Taylor looks like she's on the verge of tears, and in order to maintain her remaining dignity, she pulls herself up and get ready for the verbal lashing that's bound to come and Poppy's already coming closer by the second, ready to unleash her fury on the already quivering girl. She's about to scream at Taylor when a voice she hasn't heard before stands up for Taylor.
As soon as Poppy saw Rosie, she immediately feels bittersweet as she remembers how things ended, and she's shocked to her core because what the fuck? Why isn't Rosie on her side? Why is she standing up for this groupie who literally spilled her coffee on her brand new Jimmy Choos.
She rolls her eyes as she expects Rosie to remember her but she's surprised when Rosie actually stands up for that Tana girl or whatever. All that runs through Poppy's head is 'Has she forgotten about me? What the fuck Rosie?' All of the bitter thoughts return and rears its ugly head as Poppy's eyes blaze with anger, if it were anyone else they would have ran but Rosie isn't really one to back down. 'Fine, R, two can play that game, if you're gonna pretend that you don't know me then I'll just treat you like everyone else in this damn school.' A flash of hurt quickly shoots by Poppy's expression but it's gone before anyone can fully see it.
ROSIE POV
Rosie was walking around campus with Zoey, the other telling which building is for which department, she thought that the whole thing would be boring but from the quick and witty banter she had with Zoey, Rosie couldn't deny that she was actually enjoying herself. That is until an ungodly shriek is all she could hear.
Rushing towards the sound, worried that something was wrong, Rosie was shocked to see that it was nothing but a blonde haired girl angrily stomping towards her victim. From how loud the shriek sounded you would've thought it was a banshee and if it was any other day Rosie would've been impressed that a girl that small could manage to even sound that loud. Right now though, she wasn't impressed, especially since she could tell that the brown haired girl looks absolutely mortified and clearly afraid of the other girl.
"That's enough!" she yells, which successfully catches Poppy's attention. Rosie moves in front of the brunette as she faces the blonde girl. "You have no right to treat people that way! What's wrong with you?" This catches the attention of a few students and while a few stare in awe at the new girl, half the campus wince as they expect Rosie to get torn to shreds.
Poppy rolls her eyes as she looks at the new girl, "Who asked you, loser?" The words are spat out with so much venom that Rosie almost flinched but she doesn't. "No one did, but obviously you weren't taught any manners at all were you? Walmart Chanel Oberlin." she says as a few students let out a laugh while a few cheers for her. "Oh snap! Newbie isn't backing down."
"You just messed with the wrong person sweetheart, instead of worrying about people like her, it's me that you have to worry about. I'm gonna make sure that I'm your first and last memory of Belvoire, Farmsville." After seeing Poppy so close Rosie's head starts to hurt but she holds it in, she refuses to be seen flinching in front of this mean girl.
Students begin to clap as soon as the words escape Poppy's mouth. Another one yells "Yo Poppy, ask her what English sounds like in Farmsville!" Poppy smirks as she ignores the student. She looks at Rosie up and down as she says "Why would I ask her that if I can ask about her clothes, they're kind of cute for something pulled out of the dumpster."
Rosie keeps her cool. "My shoes? Well the thing is pumpkin, I make it my habit to squash my inferiors beneath my heel and I figured that it would add salt to injury if I did it using sneakers pulled from the dumpster." She looks at Poppy's white, gem encrusted shoes with needle thin heels as she says "Those shoes must make it hard to run from all the haters Poppy, and I for one can't wait to run over you."
Instead of taking Rosie as a threat, Poppy just makes a show of rolling her eyes as she claps her hands sarcastically. She didn't even look fazed. "It's so cute, how you think you can threaten me on my turf Farmsville. Especially since I barely understood those pig squeals coming out of your mouth. Let me give you some advice. Get out of this school and this is your last chance, before I make your life a living hell. You don't belong here so why don't you just waddle back to Iowa or whatever part of the country you're from."
Rosie, refusing to back down "You don't get to decide what I d-" but before she can finish her sentence, Poppy interrupts. "Hush little lamb. I'm talking, you're not the first middle-class hopeful to come to Belvoire, but the thing is they never fit in. This is my turf so I suggest you leave." Poppy shoves her phone in front of her face and she can see that Poppy's on top of a list called the T, meanwhile Poppy scrolls down and Rosie sees her name at the very end of the list with a really shitty nickname to start with. It says 'Newbee Hughes' and Rosie sees red.
"What the fuck is this?!" but once again she's interrupted by Poppy. "This is proof that you are a nobody, you don't have what it takes to make it in Belvoire, you'd be lucky to last five minutes." Despite the whole bitchy front she has going, Poppy is starting to regret half the words she says to Rosie. Her chest starts to hurt, like each word she says makes her feel worse and worse and she knows that as soon as she gets back to her room that the guilt will seep in. It's a kind of hollow pain, the one that builds up and turns her stomach to knots. Her heart is pounding in her chest and Poppy knows that as soon as she gets away from the crowd that her heart is going to falter and break, considering she doesn't mean anything she says. How could she? Especially since it's Rosie, the one person who she absolutely adores
She expects Rosie to back down but she doesn't. Instead of backing down like anyone else would Poppy is met with a defiant look from Rosie. "You know what, Poppy? I'm gonna have a blast making you eat those words once I pass you in the rankings. So just take a seat and watch as your ranking falls down, princess because I ain't backing down."
If it were any other situation, Poppy would have found Rosie endearing, after all she's still as stubborn as she remembers and as much as she wanted things to be the same with Rosie, she didn't think that Rosie knew or remembered her. She really regretted wishing that Rosie would appear. After all, the world has a fucked up sense of humour.
Before things can escalate any further, Rosie is pulled away by Zoey. "Hey Rosie! Look at the time, we're gonna miss lunch. Come on, we gotta go!" she says obviously in a hurry as she takes Rosie away by grabbing onto her wrist and rushing from the crowd.
The two sprint off in the other direction, only stopping once they were far enough from the rest of the crowd.
"Zoey? Why did you pull me away?! I wasn't done talking to Poppy! That girl needs to be taught a lesson." Rosie huffs, annoyed that she didn't get to finish what she was about to say to Poppy. Zoey just sighs as she says "I'll explain, let's just get out of here and go where I can explain what's happening." Rosie sighs in defeat as she's taken away by Zoey.
Rosie is led by Zoey to a bar - if she can even call it that, considering half the decor is probably worth more than her clothes right now - she looks on in awe and fascination. The bar itself had an air of mystery and sophistication around it, she couldn't quite place it but it seemed like it was the kind of place people traded information in secret, which was probably why Zoey took her there. Not to mention the fact that it's pretty far away from the prying eyes of the Belvoire students.
Zoey sits Rosie down as she begins to explain the social hierarchy of Belvoire. "If you want to know what's up with Belvoire and the website you saw, you better sit down and let me explain Rosie. There's a lot of shit going down in Belvoire. Sure it's an ivy league school but let's just say that since a few pupils are from old money, they can be kind of stuck up and that's putting it lightly."
Rosie quirks her eyebrow at the revelation, but then as she thought about it, everything kind of makes sense, the way everyone looked at Poppy with mixed expressions, a few students stared at her in awe and a few students looked on in fear. She sighs as she looks at Zoey. "That makes sense, especially since everyone seems to be scared of her, let me take a wild guess. She's at the top of the school hierarchy, right?" she asks and Zoey nods.
An idea clicks and Rosie looks at Zoey with a smile. "I have an idea." said Rosie as Zoey looks at her confused. "Help me take Poppy down." and her roommate just stares at her like she's crazy.
"Look, Rosie, not to be mean or anything but do you have any idea how crazy you sound right now? Poppy literally owns the school, everyone loves or wants to be her." Rosie just smirks at Zoey. "Yeah, I know that but if we play our cards right we can take her on. Plus you seem to know the inner workings of Belvoire well. We can take her down together, you know, mean girls style." she says it so confidently that Zoey just laughs. "You're insane, you know that? But, you seem pretty darn confident, so you know what? I'm in." The two share a smile.
Since they're already at a bar, they decided to go get a drink. As soon as Rosie approaches, the bartender is immediately rude and dismisses her as if she wasn't worth his time. "Sorry missy, we don't serve cosmos here, try somewhere else, maybe the Upper East side." Rosie can't help but think that everyone is trying to grind her gears today. Taking a deep breath, she makes eye contact with the bartender. "Well, I thought this was a bar? The place where people get their drinks?" The bartender scoffs, obviously unamused as he rolls his eyes at Rosie. "So entitled too, sorry girlie, we don't serve your type here. Go back to Fifth Avenue where you can hang out with the rest of the wannabe Instagram models."
'Too can play that game' thought Rosie. "Excuse me, where are your manners? I'm pretty sure that if your mother was here she'd wash your mouth with soap. Do you treat everyone like this? It's a wonder you even get any tips, considering how fucking misogynistic you are. I may not be from here but at least people have common courtesy where I'm from." her voice is sickly sweet, along with an extra dose of that Farmsville accent. Making sure to smile at him, much too forced to even be considered genuine. "But since the lighting is a bit dim, I guess you've mistaken me for someone I'm not. No worries, it happens to the best of us. I'll take those Manhattans now, thanks."
The bartender gawks at her, obviously surprised as he didn't expect the girl in front of him to fight back. He scurries off, obviously embarrassed as he gets the drinks ready.
As he gets the drinks ready, Rosie hears a giggle across the bar, and she makes eye contact with a woman. She looked amused as she raised a drink to Rosie, as if congratulating her. The woman before her has long black hair, and she's dressed in a pencil skirt, a white button up and a blazer that looks very good on her.
There's something alluring about this woman before her. The stare they share is magnetic and Rosie can't help but be intrigued. The woman looks distinguished and beautiful so much so, she finds it hard to look away.
"Can I help you?" asked Rosie as the woman looks at her. "I was just thinking that most people would have called for the manager and asked for him to get fired. It's surprising." Rosie would be lying if she said she wasn't interested in the woman before her, so she flirts back. "Well, you'd be glad to know that I am one of a kind."
The woman smiles at her and Rosie sees the bartender coming back with her drinks. "Here are your two Manhattans. Enjoy." Rosie gives him a polite smile as she thanks him for the drinks.
She makes her way back to Zoey and hands her the drink as she sits down on the armchair across the other girl. The two clink their glass against each other as they both take a sip. "To an afternoon without Poppy and her groupies. Cheers!" said Zoey. "Cheers to that mate! But also, I have a question for you Zoey. Why are you being so nice to me?"
Zoey just gives her a gentle smile as she explains. "Look, I'm new money like you, that makes us underdogs at Belvoire, and we're rookies so we have to stick together. Not gonna lie, you did the best and worst thing you could've done at Belvoire. You stood up to Poppy and let's just say seeing the queen bee of Belvoire shook was really funny."
"You know when you say that Poppy is the queen bee, does that have anything to with the whole ranking thing that she showed me?" asked Rosie. Zoey nods her head as she explains. "The website you saw is called 'The T' and it's basically a list of all students on campus. The numbers are the rank of each student and right now you're basically the dirt under Poppy's feet considering she's at the very top. It's a garbage system, but it's how Belvoire works. And to sum it up, each student is there, ranked by their popularity. Students from old money, campus celebs and legacy students are sitting comfy at the top."
This intimidates Rosie a bit, but she pushes on, wanting to learn more about Belvoire. "Let me guess, Poppy is all of those things." Zoey gives Rosie a serious look. "Poppy Min-Sinclair has ruled over Belvoire ever since she was a freshman. Everyone either loves or hates her, but it's not like they can do anything. She's at the very top, and this opens a lot of closed doors and opportunities. For example, Poppy's clubhouse, once you're in, you're set for life, or if you cross them, well they can basically ruin your life. Unfair, but that's how it works."
Rosie rolls her eyes as she says "Poppy's not that great. What do people see in her? Sure she's beautiful, but her personality is literally the equivalent of a dumpster fire. Sure she has size zero clothes but surely that shouldn't matter." This earns a laugh from Zoey who then explains. "True, but Poppy's clothes are always fresh from the runway and she's never been seen wearing the same thing twice. Not to mention the fact that everyone is absolutely terrified of Poppy and what she can do to them if she doesn't get her way. She expects people to grovel at her feet. Bad things happen to Poppy's enemies, the last person who stood up to her dropped out of school."
Refusing to believe Zoey, Rosie shakes her head. "She can't do that right? She can't have that much power." Zoey sighs. "Poppy's family is one of the top shareholders of the school. She has crazy power and she's not afraid of using it for her own gain, especially if it's getting rid of anyone in her way."
This angers Rosie even more. "Well, I'm not just going to stand by while she bullies everyone into submission, I don't care if i get hurt, she needs to be stopped." Zoey smiles. "Well, you've already showed her that you have a backbone and that you're not afraid of her, and a lot of people noticed. I'm pretty sure that videos have been uploaded to The T."
As if on cue, her phone buzzes and she whips it out as they read the latest post from The T.
Breaking News
'Queen Bee finally has a worthy opponent. It looks to me like this feisty newcomer might just be the one to dethrone the queen.'
Kisses,
The T
Zoey looks shocked as she exits the article and sees the ranking. "Oh my God! Rosie you've gone up on the rankings! Your little stint at campus made you rise up." Rosie looks as her name zips through the rankings, and she sees that she's not last place anymore.
"What the hell?! I'm suddenly number 197? What's happening?" she asks, obviously confused. Zoey just grins at her. "Girl, you're catching up to me. That's what happens when you stand up to the queen bee of Belvoire. You start a revolution. And look, people are commenting about your new outfit and the designer's website is crashing. I told you that it would be a good idea to change, you owe me."
Rosie is surprised, she didn't expect to have caught people's attention this fast. "How can I win against Poppy when she wants me out of here and she's already the most powerful person in the school?"
"There's two ways. The first option is to grovel at Poppy's feet and ask for forgiveness." said Zoey and Rosie's face contorts into a frown. "Or you can keep going up the rankings and steal Poppy's crown." This catches Rosie's attention. "Now you've got my attention." Zoey smirks, "It's about time that someone dethrones Poppy, and you have my full support."
Rosie's eyes soften as she flashes a genuine smile at Zoey. "Thanks Zoey, you have no idea how much that means to me." As soon as she finishes her drink Zoey tells her that's she's going to back to campus, and Rosie decides to stay back and maybe flirt a little bit more with the woman she met earlier.
"You go on ahead Zoey, I'm gonna check out the bar again." Zoey says her goodbyes as she heads out and Rosie makes her way to the bar.
She approaches the woman who smiles at her. "You came back, I was beginning to worry that you might not."
"I couldn't leave without saying thanks. And besides, I couldn't just leave you all alone." She winks and the woman chuckles obviously amused and captivated. "You're clever aren't you?" Rosie just shrugs as she says "It's about time someone noticed." The other woman scans Rosie up and down, as she introduces herself. "My name's Ina, what's yours?"
"Hi, Ina. As previously discussed, I'm clever." Ina takes your hands into her as she chuckles. "What? You're not gonna give me your name?" Rosie laughs, light and easy, she would be lying if she didn't find Ina attractive, but she wasn't one to sleep around. "Well, I'm quite new to the city, and at least buy a girl dinner first. It's nice to meet you, Ina. I have to go though, considering I have stuff to do tomorrow, and staying up late would probably be a really bad idea." said Rosie as she pulls away, however before she leaves she says "Maybe next time?" Ina looks at her as she walks away completely entranced and intrigued by the girl she just met. She can't wait to see her again.
Rosie rushes off home and gets ready for bed, considering she has classes to attend tomorrow.
When she wakes up, Zoey's already in the kitchen making breakfast and Rosie just mumbled a "Good morning" as she gets ready for the day. As soon as she wakes up she ask Zoey where to find Chamberlin hall, and the other girl offers to take her there.
Zoey leads Rosie to one of the buildings on campus. "Here it is, Chamberlin Hall. Have fun, be a good student and remember to meet for lunch at Spicey's. See you later Rosie." And as soon as she says her goodbye, Zoey's gone.
Rosie walks over to a seat where she finds Chloe, who sees her and gives her a gentle smile. "Hey, you're Rosie right? I don't know if you're insane or just not intimidated by her but I'll give you props. But seriously though, you should probably stop antagonizing Poppy, I wouldn't want to go against you." said Chloe as Rosie looked at her, obviously perplexed. "What do you mean?" Chloe sighs as she explains. "I'm one of Poppy's best friends and I would hate to go against you since you don't seem that bad, but if you are planning to go against Poppy then we'll be enemies." That shocks Rosie because who knew someone as sweet as Chloe would be friends with a mean girl like Poppy.
"I know you probably think that Poppy's just a mean girl, but she took me under her wing and helped me out when I was having a tough time at Belvoire, so I won't hesitate to stand up for her." Rosie just nods, but internally she's confused because why would someone like Poppy help someone out?
Her train of thought is broken as she hears someone clear their throat, and as she looks at the front she sees Ina, or in this case Professor Kingsley, who looks just as shocked as she does. Rosie has half a mind to drop this class considering she literally flirted with her Professor without knowing. Ina just stares slack jawed as she sees Rosie, obviously surprised and flustered.
Meanwhile Rosie just facepalms. -You have got to be fucking kidding me. At least I didn't sleep with her, that would've been a big fuck up. - she thinks as she ignores Ina.
A/N: hi guys! This is the second chapter of free falling, yes, yes I'm setting the scene for Poppy and Rosie. And just in case you forgot, Rosie has no memories of Poppy, except the fact that she remembers that she had a childhood friend who was blonde. Meanwhile Poppy remembers everything about her. Next chapter will possibly focus a bit more on Poppy and MC's relationship. I gotta build up the drama somehow lol. But anygays, feel free to request anything. If I know the character I'll probably write for them lol. But yes uwu uwu. This is probably full of mistakes but I hope you still enjoyed. But also oh no! Rosie thinks chloe is someone that was once close to her and right now she hates Poppy's guts. 👀 friends to enemies to lovers lol

Can you write a fic where Poppy's car broke down and MC happens to be around that place so she decides to give Poppy a ride and takes her to a dinner date? Some angst+fluff would be great! Thank u so much!
Duality
Tumblr media
A/N: Another Poppy one-shot. Hi everyone! How are y'all? I hope you all are good, this fic was written because of an ask, with my own take. I hope you all enjoy it. I'll probably work on a few other requests too during the weekend but have this for now lmao. (Excuse my digitally challenged ass but I tried to make a cute gif to like be part of this, but sadly my editing skills are non-existent.)
Summary: Poppy's duality never ceases to confuse and intrigue Rosie. One day she's all soft and fluffy and the next she's back to her mean and bitchy self, but if there's one thing she's noticed, Poppy's always beautiful no matter what she does or says and it's safe to say that she absolutely adores Poppy.

Poppy is an enigma, she’s a big question mark that Rosie learns more and more of each day. There’s two sides to Poppy, one is the one reserved for private places where she’s delicate and vulnerable, looking so tired and frustrated from everything she faces on a daily basis. She looks tired and needs a lot of reassurance and care because Rosie can tell that the pressure is becoming too tough for Poppy to handle. Who can blame her? Poppy is put on a pedestal on a day to day basis, she’s always under public scrutiny no matter what she does in public. Photos of her are taken on a daily basis, some are filled with positive messages whilst others are full of negativity. After all, people either love or hate Poppy. On days where Poppy looks so exhausted, Rosie makes sure to help her relax by literally dragging Poppy to relax, or she does something sweet so that her girlfriend can take a break. For example, on days where Poppy is overwhelmed, Rosie is quick to draw a bath for Poppy as well as make sure that the blonde takes care of herself by fulfilling basic needs such as eating and sleeping.
No one in Belvoire really knows how emotionally withdrawn Poppy is, and there’s times where she’s so close to a breakdown, yet she stays strong and puts all her walls up so that she shows no weakness, only the ones closest to her understand the pressure she’s under. Chloe and Veronica worry for Poppy because she has tendencies to over work herself and forget that she’s not a robot, which cause the two to intervene by making sure that their friend actually takes a break.
The Poppy that they know in private is so different to the one that everyone else knows. She’s considerate and actually listens, she smiles a lot more and is not nearly as vicious as when she’s in public. Her smiles are genuine and she takes pride in taking care of her friends because as much as she loathes to say it, Poppy actually adores her friends. They’re the support systems she needs, God knows her parents aren’t exactly parents of the year and she knows that her friends are always there for her when she needs them and she makes sure to return the favour.
The ice princess of Belvoire is very sweet and soft for animals, let’s just say that the pug that Rosie adopted, whose name is ‘Bear', is the most spoiled dog in the world. Poppy can’t help but shower him with love and affection, so much so Rosie gets jealous. “I’m starting to think that you love Bear more than me Poppy.” And all Rosie gets in response is a roll of the eyes as Poppy continues to shower Bear with attention, which earns a pout from Rosie more often than not. She’s so different in private that it almost gives Rosie whiplash because of how quickly her girlfriend can put her façade on in public, but as soon as they’re in private Poppy quick to ask for hugs and kisses, especially if the day has been tiring or if she’s just annoyed in general. Poppy can barely stand people and there's only a few that she tolerates, and she’s always to quick to point this out if her friends are being annoying or just engage in crack head behaviour. “You guys are so fucking lucky that I’m fond of you, because if I wasn’t I would literally kick you.” Her threats are never taken seriously though, especially since she’s sporting a smile that looks to soft to actually mean it.
Poppy in public eye is very different to the one that Rosie knows, she’s cold and each move carefully calculated. She never shows any weakness, her head held up high as she walks through campus as if she owns the entire place. If anyone tries to cross her a verbal lashing is prone to happen and Rosie is quick to do damage control by removing Poppy from the situation, but more often than not, there are a few students that need to be taken down a peg so Rosie doesn’t intervene. God forbid someone insults Rosie or any of her friends, then there’s nothing Rosie can do, Poppy’s going to be unstoppable and insults will be thrown. Rosie’s favourite being: “You look like a watered down version of Ethan Ramsey, and that’s lower than low.” Once people heard that, they couldn’t help but laugh as the boy looked like he was on the verge of tears.
Poppy’s confident and takes charge, and honestly Rosie can’t help but love how confident she is, even if she has bad days sometimes. The blond girl is a badass and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind, no matter what other think. However, after Rosie and Poppy got together people can tell that the HBIC of Belvoire is more relaxed and not as harsh as before. Not to mention the fact that Poppy actually seems to smile a lot more. Before, she never smiled, a permanent scowl seeming to be etched on her features and none of the students on campus can deny that Poppy actually looks really nice with a smile on her face. She looks like she’s enjoying her time in Belvoire, and it’s a massive difference because Poppy was insufferable and absolutely terrified everyone, but now she looks more grounded and more human, which is probably because of the fact that she’s not as grouchy as before.
Whilst Poppy is not big on PDA, she does have a subtle way of showing affection in public. One thing that Poppy and Rosie does is the three taps as if to say ‘I love you’ albeit in a subtle way, another thing that Poppy does is link her arms to Rosie’s if they’re walking around on campus. She also has a habit of rubbing her thumb against Rosie’s hand when they walk around, hands interlocked. Kisses are normally reserved in private, however, there are moments where Poppy gets jealous, and it’s mostly due to the Professor giving her girlfriend heart eyes. At those moments, Poppy doesn’t care who sees and she’s quick to pull Rosie in for a kiss, not really caring who’s looking. If anyone tries to flirt with Rosie, Poppy’s quick to stake her claim, not afraid of a make out session in a hallway and it always leaves Rosie blushing and wanting more. Poppy’s always quick to walk away though, she knows full well that all Rosie will think about is her lips apart from other things. She’s sly like that, but you know what they say “hate to see her leave but love to watch her walk away", this is especially true in Poppy’s case as she makes a show of strutting away as Rosie is left there stunned.
It’s not a well known fact but Poppy enjoys driving around, it’s one her outlets where she doesn’t have to think about Belvoire, the rankings and her parents. (Poppy drives a pink Fiat 500, and you can’t change my mind) She can just focus on the road as she takes in the different scenery that she passes by, however, her night is ruined when her car just decides to shut down in the middle of fuck knows Brooklyn. Needless to say Poppy is annoyed and angry, her night is ruined and once she calls the service she’s let down as the customer services team are incompetent  at their job and she’s left on the side of the road for another three hours. Rolling her eyes as she finishes the phone call, she decides to call Rosie, hoping that the other girl wasn’t asleep yet, considering it’s quite late at night and she knows that Rosie’s usually asleep by now. However, she’s surprised when Rosie picks up. “Hey babe, what’s up? It’s like super late, don’t you need your beauty sleep?” Rosie’s voice never fails to calm Poppy down, it’s always so sweet and full of affection, usually reserved for her and Bear.
“I need your help Rosie, my car broke down and now I’m stuck by the side of a road. Customer services are saying that they can’t get anyone here until another three hours so can you please pick me up? It’s really freaking cold.”
Rosie can hear Poppy’s voice quiver due to cold, and she’s quick to get up and get ready so that she can get Poppy. She quickly dresses up, and makes sure to bring another jacket for Poppy. Rosie loves Poppy, don’t get her wrong but she doesn’t quite understand Poppy’s fondness of late night drives, however as she goes to get her blonde girlfriend, she starts to understand. The cool evening breeze, the quiet streets, well as quiet as New York can get and not to mention the scenery she passes by. Rosie begins to understand Poppy’s fondness for late night drives.
As soon as she reaches Poppy’s location, Rosie is taken away by how beautiful Poppy looks, even when she’s scowling. She pulls up next to Poppy’s car and as soon as she gets out of her car, Poppy’s already hugging her. “You took so long Rosie, did you drive at 10 miles per hour?” Rosie just laughs as she gives Poppy the jacket. “Here, you must’ve been cold, dumbass. I mean who wears thin clothing during cold weather?” Poppy just shoots her a glare she begrudgingly takes the jacket and put it on, but since Rosie is a little bit taller, the jacket looks a bit too big and Poppy looks absolutely adorable, so much so Rosie can’t help but take a photo. In which she quickly makes her lock screen. Poppy notices and just rolls her eyes. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that you were a paparazzo, R.” Rosie just looks at her and smiles. “I can’t help it Poppy, you look cute.” This causes Poppy to look away and blush as she mutters a quiet “Thanks".
Rosie realises that even though they’re both wearing jackets, it is quite cold, and since the guy from the insurance company isn’t going to be there for another two hours, she thought that it would be a good idea to take Poppy out for something to eat. “Hey, we’ve got another two hours to kill before the dude comes, want to grab something to eat?” and before Poppy can respond her stomach rumbles which causes her to flush in embarrassment. “I’m gonna take that as a yes, I saw a diner a few minutes from here? Unless that’s too plebeian for you?” This earns Rosie a small punch to her shoulder. “Shut up Rosie, but since it’s close by sure, I’m actually really hungry.”
The two head off to grab something to eat, and as soon as they arrive at the diner, Poppy’s reminded of their teenage years where they hung out every summer. She remembers the taste of the cherry pie that they always used to get. (Free falling crumbs lol) When they go inside, Poppy’s immediately hit with a sense of nostalgia, the ambience of the place reminding her of their shared childhood and she can’t help but smile. “This brings back memories R, even the vibe is the same.” Rosie can’t help but smile as she sees Poppy, and she remembers the first time Poppy went to a diner, at first the blonde girl was horrified, but she grew into it, especially since the food was actually good. Simple and rugged but good nonetheless.
The two take a seat, and wait until they can order. "I don’t think I told you this Poppy, but I, I’m pretty sure I was crushing real hard on you since we were kids. It was pretty obvious but yeah, I’ve been whipped since day one.” Rosie looks away shyly, looking away from Poppy. “I was crushing on you too, idiot, just in case that wasn’t obvious. You were just so fucking nice and you didn’t want anything in return, unlike everyone else I was ‘friends’ with. Being with you was and still is simple, and I absolutely adore you, just in case you didn’t already know.” Rosie’s eyes soften as she looks Poppy, whose face is pink. “I absolutely adore you too Poppy.” The rest of the meal is spent in comfortable silence.
Before they drive back to Poppy’s car, Rosie is pulled back by Poppy. “Before I forget, you once asked me who I love most in the world.” She pauses as Rosie turns to fully face her. “Well, if I’m being honest, it’s you, Rosie.”
Rosie can feel her heart hammering against her chest as she begins to process what Poppy said. She almost forgets to breathe, tears threatening to escape which makes Poppy panic. “Shit, R, why are you crying? Did I say too much? I’m so s--" Before Poppy can even finish her sentence she’s pulled in and next thing she knows Rosie’s lips are on hers and they’re kissing under the moonlight. Rosie can taste a hint of cherry as she kisses Poppy like her life depends on it. Whilst she wears her heart on her sleeve. Poppy’s the opposite, she withdrawn and usually prefers to keep things low-key, but it’s not like she’s going to complain since she loves Poppy too.
They both have to pull away for oxygen and Rosie’s forehead is against Poppy’s. “I love you too, you dumbass. I don’t think I’ve ever loved anyone as much as I love you.”
A/N: hello guys, I hope you all enjoyed this one shot. I just needed some Poppy content, I do have plans to write something for aurora and jackie in the near future but have this first lol.

Quarantine headcanons (Poppy x MC)
Summary: 9 months of quarantine headcanons of Poppy and MC, as requested by my fellow simp Gabu.
Taglist: @somewillwin @uhh-the-green-thing @jmojellybae @simp-pony @made-me-deep-blue @uselesslesbianfr @it-lives-in-braidwood-manor @belvoiresqueenbee @alexlabhont @samanthadalton @crazzyplays @sparring-hyena
It's been 9 months since quarantine started, and it's been stressful to say the least, sure there are ups and downs but overall the stress of studying at home and not having any social events was starting to drive Poppy mad. She's not used to staying at home for prolonged periods of time, as she always has to be on the move, doing something or going somewhere. It could be hosting parties or visiting the animal shelter to see if any of them have been adopted, so it's safe to say that Poppy isn't a homebody.
Poppy doesn't say anything but she's actually very worried about the animals in the shelter, especially since it seems like a lot of animals are being found as strays, due to people not being able to afford or care for their pets, leaving them no choice but to give them up for adoption.
It obviously stresses her out because the shelter is the one place she truly cares for, and she genuinely adores all of the animals that are there and she's grateful that the volunteers do their best even in these uncertain times, whilst Poppy can be mean and vicious, she can also be generous, making sure that the volunteers are actually paid for the work that they do, as she knows that the ongoing pandemic must make it hard.
You on the other hand genuinely hate being cooped up inside, not being able to do anything, sure you're allowed to go outside for exercise but it's not really enough to help, especially since you've been feeling so burnt out since all you do is attend zoom classes that barely make sense and the sad puppy eyes given to you by the Professor isn't exactly making things fun. You thought that online class would make things less awkward but it seems that the Professor is hellbent on giving you those longing puppy eyes.
The stares are so noticeable that Poppy scoffs and rolls her eyes for everyone to see and hear, it genuinely makes you laugh. Especially since even when she frowns she still manages to look gorgeous and it's unfair but that's just how she is. Gorgeous without trying. Poppy looks bored but also immaculate at the same time. Just because classes are online, doesn't mean that Poppy isn't going to dress up and look pretty. You honestly don't understand where she gets her energy from, opting to show up to class in your hoodies and sweatpants looking like you just dragged yourself off bed.
However, there have been times where you wake up early only to see Poppy getting ready for class, and let's just say that this causes you both to miss out, due to - ehem - "fun times". In which Poppy's lipstick ends up all over your body and her hair is all tousled up, and honestly, you've never seen anything more beautiful. (that's probably the whipped talking but you're not complaining because Poppy always looks fucking gorgeous, and any moment spent with her is always guaranteed to make you happy)
Remember when quarantine first started and Poppy barely knew how to cook without almost killing somebody? Well she's improved and she's actually wife material now. Who knew Poppy would actually enjoy cooking? It's one of her favourite moments actually, just spending time with you and it's so domestic that she actually has visions of a future with you. (not that she'd ever tell you but she genuinely is falling for you more and more each day)
When things get too stressful and you both get frustrated over something, this can lead to arguments, and things are said even if you don't mean them. Since you're both stubborn, no one apologises even if you both feel bad. Things are sorted when Poppy actually gives in and apologises first, and you can't help but be shocked since Poppy almost never apologises. You two discuss things like normal adults, and this becomes a daily ritual where at the end of a stressful day you both ask each other how you're feeling and just vent to let it all out.
Another thing that Poppy will never admit is that she actually enjoys going out to go grocery shopping, it gives her time away from home and it's at times like these that she can actually imagine a future with you and the fact that it gives her a sense of normalcy because she can just get away from the stress of university and everything else.
Overall, Poppy is actually a pretty darn sweet person, she's just emotionally constipated, with her upbringing, especially since she knew that she wasn't really of Sinclair blood, she was a bastard child, and her father never accepted her no matter how hard she tried to be perfect. Not that anything she did was ever enough, Piers never really cared about her, only stepping up when it was revealed that she was a bastard child, in which he vehemently denied to the public even if everyone knew.
Poppy has moments where she just needs some space and alone time, and at times like these the best thing to do would be to do little things to show that you care. Whether it be bringing her food or a cup of tea, she'll always be thankful.
9 months is a long time, and you and Poppy learn and discover new things about the other every day, and it's domestic as fuck and both of you learn to love each other more and more as the days go by.
Poppy will literally just steal all of your sweatpants and hoodies, it's warm and comfy and as soon as class is over, she's off to go read or make notes all comfy and cute. You can't help but take photos because Poppy Min-Sinclair is fucking adorable. She could wear a trash bag and you'd still be head over heels.
NSFW HCS
During the quarantine, there's something new that you learnt about Poppy, namely the fact that she could care less about her zoom class/meeting. There's been more than one occasion where Poppy left the lecture on as she muted and turned off the camera so that you two could get it on. Everyone just thinks that Poppy is being herself by not really giving a shit because even if she skips she still manages to achieve good grades. Veronica and Chloe know what's up though, the two are so fucking done, considering their rooms aren't really far away and the walls aren't exactly sound proof so you two get teased a lot.
You fire back at Veronica though, because no matter how much she calls you and Poppy out, you can also fire back and tease her about Zoey, considering they're quarantined together. (I will go down with this ship. Two tol hotties together uhm yes)
Poppy is a switch, but she's also very bratty when bottoming, she loves when you eat her out during class though, especially if it's during anthropology class because she's a petty hoe, and she hates Professor Kingsley so lol.
Hope you enjoyed GABU, I haven't written anything in a while so my braincell aren't that good. Hopefully I did this request justice lol.

SFW
It was hate at first sight (sure, jan), but in all honesty your first impression of Poppy was that she was gorgeous. The scowl on her face did nothing to change your mind. The very first words she uttered to you was "Oh, sweetheart, you don't have to worry about who she is. It's me you have to worry about.
As soon as those words leave her mouth, the only part of the sentence your brain focuses on is the word 'sweetheart' and the way she said it, voice dripping with sarcasm. It did nothing to stop you from thinking how hot Poppy was.
You're suddenly pulled away by Zoey, who tells you about the whole ranking system and she takes you out to hang out at a speakeasy, with your new outfit.
In order to get your mind off of Poppy, you decide to flirt with the stranger at the bar (who ends up being Professor Kingsley), but even as you spent time and slept with them, all you could imagine was Poppy, and how she would feel under you.
You learn that Poppy was the resident HBIC of campus, and a sort of rivalry forms between the two of you.
Poppy won't admit it to anyone but she actually found you attractive when she first saw you, even though you were wearing non-designer clothes. Probably annoyed that she actually found you attractive, she acts extra mean, because she's confused and not good with feelings. (PB please let me romance Poppy)
Not anyone is safe from Poppy's wrath, and its extra hard for you because she becomes extra mean, her words are harsher and actually stings a little.
Poppy seems shocked that you actually got hurt, and opens her mouth about to apologise until she remember that she's the queen bee, she doesn't apologise.
You don't back down and insults are exchanged between the two of you, whenever you meet or bump into each other.
Poppy actually starts to look forward to your banter with each other, and she makes an effort to bump into you a bit more.
When you learn of Kick-off day, you and the quarterbacks team up to create a performance for half-time.
Poppy for sure gets annoyed because who do you think you are trying to compete with her, the queen of Belvoire.
After you show her up and kiss Zoey, she feels a pang of jealousy, which she mistakes and takes out as anger against you. She has a meltdown, breaks up with Carter and everyone stares and start to berate her.
Poppy walks out the field and you run after her, feeling shitty because even if she was mean, she didn't deserve to be shit on in public like that. You feel really bad and run after Poppy to make sure she's okay.
You catch up to Poppy find her all the way on the other side of the campus, she's by herself and you see her crying her eyes out. Her eyes are red, and once you see her your heart breaks a little because seeing her like that made you feel like the worst human being, especially since she was crying because of you. Even though, she's crying she looks as beautiful as ever and you can't help but stare.
You approach her and she notices and sneers at you. "Come to kick me when I'm down? Go ahead, newbie. Here's your chance."
And if you thought you couldn't feel worse, you felt you heart break even more as the words escapes her lips.
You put your hands up in surrender and let out a sigh. "Look, you don't have to believe me but I just really wanted to apologise. Even if you were being mean, you don't deserve that." She eyes you suspiciously and says "What's it to you if I'm upset, Farmsville? Just fuck off, I don't need your pity."
Not backing down, you stare at her in the eyes and say sincerely. "I never really wanted to be part of this stupid ranking thing you guys have, I don't even want to be the queen bee. Especially, if it means that you or anyone else gets hurt in the process."
Poppy looks at you stunned, like she can't decipher why you're being so nice to her, and you continue "Plus, I can't say I didn't enjoy our banter, that was fun." You wink at her cheekily and she can't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation.
You smile at her softly, happy that you managed to make her feel a little but better and you realise that Poppy has such a soft laugh and you want to hear it again.
Poppy's eyes soften as she stops crying. She looks at you and says "Thanks Farmsville, I needed that." You don't know whether your eyes are playing trick on you but you can swear that you can see her blush.
Meanwhile, Poppy feels her cheeks burn and her heart beat a bit faster. 'Damn you for being sweet.'
Smiling sincerely, you ask "Truce?" and Poppy raises her eyebrow at you amused but agrees albeit nonchalantly.
This then starts your sort of friendship with Poppy, but instead of hurling insults at each other, the both of you engage in playful banter (no one knows that you guys are friends). She turns a bit softer, in a way where she always looks at you with an inquisitive gaze to check if you were okay with the banter.
Cue the late night messages, where the both of you stay up late to talk about random nonsense that happened that day, or when Poppy's annoyed she sends you rants where she complains about how stupid everyone is, and vice versa.
Both of you being confused af because is she flirting with me or is she being nice???? (basically is he gay or European but lesbian) The two of you have each other's back, if someone says shit about either of you the other one is quick to defend. Zoey notices your change in attitude towards Poppy and she asks why you're defending your "enemy". You shrug it off by saying "If they're gonna say shit, they should say it to her face, not talk behind her back." Zoey finds that a little bit suspicious, but she doesn't say anything.
This then leads to an actual good support system for both of you, and an actual friendship is formed.
This is when Poppy realises that she actually has feelings for you, and she's quick to yeet out of there, because ewww feelings. She starts to act distant and you're confused because you think you did something wrong.
It's not that Poppy wants to avoid you, she's just really confused about her feelings and she doesn't want to ruin the friendship you two have. Chloe notices that Poppy is acting weird and decides to confront her about it.
Whilst Chloe is usually oblivious, even she suspects that something is going on between the two of you, and she begins to ask Poppy questions. That's when she finds out that Poppy has feelings for you. After her small 'EUREKA!' moment Chloe decides to tease Poppy, and queen bee is not amused. "If you tell anyone that I have a crush on her, I will have you cremated and eaten by the dogs." yells Poppy as Chloe just laughs in amusement.
Chloe lowkey trying to be a wingman, but Poppy tells her off and you just think that Chloe's just being weird, and it just confuses you even more. Like what???
Mutual pining, because the both of you are too stubborn to confess how you feel. Poppy just doesn't even know what to do because feelings. And you don't know whether she likes you back and don't want to risk your newfound friendship with her.
Cue Poppy seeing you flirt with someone else, (Carter, Zoey or Veronica or whoever) and Poppy loses her shit because she's jealous.
Thinking with anger and not her head, Poppy decides to kiss you in front of the whole school. Long story short, everyone sees and it's all over social media, that's how they find out that the queen bee has staked her claim.
Poppy is touch starved and craves affection. This probably comes with the fact that her parents weren't really the affectionate type, which is why she acts the way she does. Her parents probably ingrained it into her head that she has to be #1 for everything and anything below that is the same as being nothing.
She would never admit it but Poppy adores cuddling and lazy days where the both of you just chill out and share soft and sweet kisses, in which neither of you stop until your lips are bruised.
She's also the little spoon (fite me), and you don't mind because she's so soft and you're weak for her.
Poppy is also the type to pamper you with expensive ass gifts, even when you tell her that she doesn't have to give you anything, but it makes her happy so you're happy.
Waking up next to her is probably the equivalent of seeing an angel. She looks so peaceful when she's asleep and you can't help but stare because you don't have the heart to wake her up.
Poppy can't cook for shit, because why would she need to know how to cook, she's rich??? Probably so bougie she's never had fast food in her life, so the first thing you do is take her ass to McDonald's.
Arguments usually occur when both of you are stressed and this leads to angry make out sessions where both of you are marked up with hickeys for everyone to see.
This girl needs some TLC, so please be gentle and patient because she's not used to affection.
NSFW HCs
People probably think that Poppy's a pillow princess and sometimes you joke and tease her about it, but in all honesty she can top. Her strap game is impeccable, 10000/10 would reccomend again.
When you go down on her she always tugs at your hair, and you can't help but groan as her nails brush against your scalp. Additionally when she's bottoming, she becomes a little bratty and you have no choice but to play rough and she doesn't mind.
When the two of you argue, this can lead to some intense angry sex, all bets are off when you're arguing, everything is messy, rough and passionate. The two of you don't remember the reason why you were arguing after.
The moans, groans and noises that comes out of Poppy's mouth is music to your ears. It's probably the sexiest thing you've ever heard, and you can't get enough.
When she rides the strap, it's the hottest thing you've ever seen. The way her sweat clings to her body making it glisten, and the way her body moves and convulses as she's riding makes you go insane. 10000/10 would do again.
The type to annoy you by sexting you in class, purposely riling you up, she especially enjoys annoying you when it's Professor Kingsley's class because she's petty like that. It gets to the point where you're so riled up that you just get up and leave class. She loves sending you photos with nothing on but her underwear, almost always pink or white. It's one of her favourite past times really. You can't even get angry because each photo is so good so you can't complain.
She's also the type of girl to get flustered when you sext her back, and it's honestly the cutest thing. It becomes a game of who can rile up the other person more.
These are just my headcanons and you don't have to agree with them hope you enjoyed reading. :)

Part 1: The introduction
As the sun began to set, the houses along the street began to bask in its warm glow. The neighbourhood is quiet, like always, excluding the occasional car engine rumbling through the roads until they disappear into the distance and once again the silence is deafening. This neighbourhood was your typical suburban type, their structures stood tall and bold. Looking from an aerial point of view, one could argue that it’s almost like the houses have been copied and pasted along the street, they almost look perfect. One theory is that they were purposely made to look like they're perfect because they don’t want anyone to find out their secrets. It’s harder to catch a true glimpse when everything looks flawless.
If you compare the northside and the southside of Greensburg, it makes it seem like they’re living in two different worlds and maybe they are. The polarisation between the rich and the poor only becomes bigger, demonstrated by the high socio-economic backgrounds of those who lived in the north who go to the best schools, have the best jobs and sometimes own more than one house. Compared to those in a low socio economic background in the south, who usually have to work two jobs just to feel some sort of financial stability in their lives or have no choice but to indulge in illegal jobs just so they can feel some sort of power and superiority and have money of course. Only a few in the south are able to lead a straight and narrow life and successfully do it without having to engage in the culture of illegal activities.
Bea Hughes, a girl who lives in Greensburg is someone who managed to immerse herself in both worlds. She used to be part of the upper class lifestyle but after life fucked her and her family over at the tender age of 8 years old, she was pulled into another world, one that she quickly had to acquaint herself with, because in the south, survival matters. The luxuries she once knew as a kid had disappeared and she constantly lived in a fight or flight situation. Now as her senior year of high school looms ahead, she finds herself still living in a similar situation, but instead of dealing with gangs or her addict of a mother, she had to deal with stuck up rich kids in Greensburg’s most prestigious school, Belvoire, which may have been her toughest obstacle of all. Against all odds, Bea managed to earn a scholarship at this private school when she was 15, and in order to keep her place, she has to maintain a 4.0 GPA, join at least one extra curricular activity and immerse herself into the culture of the school (whatever that meant).
Even though life managed to be shitty most of the time, there was one constant, one thing that made life worth living, one thing that made her the happiest…
“Crap”, the brunette clung onto the branch of the tree trying to regain her footing after narrowly avoiding her death (or more likely a trip to the hospital). After recovering from her mild slip, she rapped on the window beside her and a few seconds later the window slides open and as she enters the room she trips up on her own feet landing face down on the floor.
“Real smooth”
Bea chuckles at the snark comment as she looks up and as the sunlight shines through the window, it highlights all the features of the other girl. She was shorter than Bea (although not in this moment since Bea was practically laying on the floor), her facial features were sharp and her strawberry blonde hair fell perfectly around her shoulders. Her plush pink lips were curled up in a small smile as she offered a hand to the girl to help her up.
“I totally meant to do that” Bea takes her hand and lifts herself off the floor, and after she quickly dusts herself off and grabs the blonde’s wrist pulling her towards her while her other hand settles on her waist. “So how much time do we have?”
The petite girl wounds her arms around the taller girl’s neck and slightly tip toes to whisper, “my dad has dinner with a bunch of investors so he’s not going to be back until midnight”. A huge smile appears on her face as she leans back slightly taking in the appraising look of the brunette.
“Perfect”.
Bea moves in to kiss the blonde, passion already igniting as their tongues tangle in a fight for dominance until Bea suddenly pulls away, foreheads touching, eyes blazing with desire as she whispers against the other girl’s lips, “I missed you Pops”.
The other girl rolls her eyes and unwinds her arms from Bea’s neck, slightly pushing her back and while maintaining eye contact she walks backwards towards the bed and sits on the edge, “shuttup, you literally saw me yesterday” her tone attempting to come across as catty but instead comes out in a more playful manner.
Bea raises an eyebrow as she saunters to where the girl is sitting and places two fingers under the girl’s chin lifting her face until their eyes meet, “so? I’m suddenly not allowed to miss my girlfriend?” She leans in, her lips ghosts around the blonde’s lips.
“You talk too much, come on we’re wasting daylight” the blonde grabs Bea’s shirt and pulls her down onto the bed with her as they tussle in the sheets, lips crashing against one another reigniting the same passion from the kiss before.
“Poppy..” Bea all but moans when Poppy places wet kisses along her jawline and begins biting at her neck. Not wanting her to have all the fun, Bea suddenly flips Poppy over pressing her deeper into the mattress as she ravenously kisses her, as if Poppy is the only one who can satiate her desire, and honestly speaking? She probably is.
“No more foreplay, I want you now” Poppy breathlessly says, breaking the heated kiss. Bea sits up to straddle Poppy, intertwining both hands with hers and places it above the blonde’s head and grinds on her hips earning a low groan from Poppy.
“Ask and you shall receive my queen”
In response, Poppy rolls her eyes and her tongue darts out of her mouth, teasingly moving against her own soft lips and as Bea leans in for another kiss her slender fingers move lightly above Poppy’s inner thigh, touching everywhere except where Poppy wanted her the most. After a few pleads from the blonde, Bea finally indulges her desires and they moved in perfect syncopation.
…..
After a while, Bea and Poppy collapse into each other’s arms, exhausted but satisfied recovering from their physically demanding rendezvous. Bea lays on her back with one arm behind her head and one arm wrapped around the petite girl who fit perfectly in her larger frame. Poppy relaxes her head on Bea’s chest, feeling lulled by her heartbeat which brings her a sense of calm and security. Bea softly kisses her forehead and looks down at the girl, entranced by her beauty, enrapturing the way her breaths are slightly longer and deeper than usual, the way her hair falls around her face and how her fingers subconsciously ghost around Bea’s stomach drawing lazy shapes.
Poppy Min Sinclair, a 5’2 blonde beauty who is Bea’s entire world. Everything about her screams perfection in Bea’s eyes. She’s a straight A student, captain of the cheerleading team, and likes to spend time volunteering at her local animal shelter and is secretly an amazing artist. Though her family was one of the richest families in Greensburg, Poppy wasn’t your average highschool rich girl. Though she would often go on regular shopping sprees and refuse to wear anything that wasn’t designer (unless it was Bea’s clothes), she never treated Bea any differently than how others would. She was a bright girl, who was loving, friendly, fierce when she needed to be and extremely loyal. When it was just her and Bea she could show her true self, not pretend to be someone she’s not or play a certain role, she could just simply be Poppy instead of Poppy Min Sinclair. Poppy often felt the gravity that came with her name, especially since that’s all her father pressured her to be, a Min Sinclair.
Hayden Min Sinclair, Poppy’s father, owned an entire empire of companies, differentiating from technology based businesses to architecture and finance. To say he was a businessman was putting it lightly, he was almost like a god or at least someone who was highly worshipped by business moguls. He built up his family’s name and within a decade he was a force to be reckoned with. Hayden Min Sinclair worked his ass off to lift his companies off the ground because as a person of colour he knew he would have to work 10x harder to get what he wanted. All he ever wants is life for his daughter to be easy, the irony is, that he’s one of the main reasons why it’s so hard.
He’s a man of honour and pride and has never expected anything less from his daughter, hoping she would keep the dignity attached to the Min Sinclair name and bring it to new heights. So his traditionalist and conservative views means that he’s expecting Poppy to marry a man, who’s also an aristocrat, in which Bea is 0 for 2 for Poppy’s father’s expectations. Hence, Bea and Poppy have to keep their relationship a secret, a way to protect both Poppy and her future but also Bea from Mr Min Sinclair’s wrath. Reputation means everything to the Min Sinclairs and to Mr Min Sinclair specifically, especially after Poppy’s mother passed away when Poppy was 10 after an unfortunate incident of a drunken hit and run which left Poppy permanently broken from the loss of her mother but had all the socialites gossiping about the tragedy for months. To this day Poppy and her father still mourn her loss and Poppy often turns to Bea for comfort, for her companionship could provide the means of making her forget the empty presence of her mother that was left behind.
They’d known each other since they were 7, when Bea used to live in the very same neighbourhood after the Min Sinclair’s moved into the neighbourhood, and they spent almost every waking hour together, attached by the hip. They were the best of friends and almost nothing could get in their way. Emphasis on the ‘almost’.
When Bea’s father left Bea’s mother, Isabella when Bea was 8 and her sister Aria was 2, after finding out that Aria wasn’t his child as a result of a one night stand Isabella had, Bea’s family struggled to afford to live in the neighborhood especially since Bea’s father was the breadwinner of the house and their main source of income. After a series of bad decisions resulting in Bea’s mother losing her job as a banker, the 3 girls were forced to move to the south of Greensburg since it was the only thing they could afford.
Bea and Poppy were still inseparable at this point, either Bea would take 2 buses to go to Poppy’s house or Poppy would call the family’s driver so she could go over the Bea’s. The breaking point for their friendship was the day when Bea’s mother once took the girls to the park when they were 11 and after she had gotten so intoxicated to the point she threw up in front of all the children, and Poppy’s father prohibited Poppy from seeing Bea again.
“That girl and her family will bring shame to our family’s name, imagine what your mother would say” Poppy can still hear her father’s words ringing in her head from time to time, but everytime she looks at Bea, all her expectations would disappear and she would just simply be happy.
They began dating when they were 14, after Poppy had managed to scrounge up all her courage to kiss Bea on valentine’s day, after the two girls had snuck away to a diner to hang out like they would usually do. Poppy looked as if she was going to pass out from embarrassment when Bea didn’t reciprocate the kiss at first, however in Bea’s defence she was more startled than anything else. When Poppy was about to apologise Bea moved in and gave Poppy a sweet and chaste kiss on the lips and from then they decided they would be together. Bea couldn’t believe her luck when she was able to call Poppy hers, she felt like she didn’t have much to offer Poppy as she had yet to have earned the scholarship to Belvoire, the same school that Poppy had been attending. As well as coming from a troubled family life she didn’t want to implicate Poppy in any way but staying away from her had proven to be too difficult.
The consequences of their forbidden love was much harder on her than it was on Poppy, still nevertheless she would do anything for Poppy, which was proven time and time again when they have to act like strangers at school. In spite of that, the stolen glances, the stolen moments, the stolen kisses, it made it all worth it.
“Are you ready for school tomorrow” Poppy’s soft voice vibrated against Bea’s chest.
Bea lets out a soft chuckle, “What do you think Pops? I’m the school’s lonely girl”
Bea’s reputation at Belvoire could not be worse, in a school filled with entitled brats, it was difficult for her to make any friends considering her economic background. She also couldn’t rely on Poppy and her popularity since she couldn’t be within any vicinity of the girl she loves. Bea and Poppy’s friends had a history of not getting along, and since Poppy couldn’t allow the true nature of her relationship with Bea to come to light, Bea had to deal with all sorts of harassment and bullying from them. Bea often had to remind herself that she was only a target because with money comes a lot of entitlement, especially from snobby teenagers. Moreover, the consequences of her mother’s actions also didn’t help Bea as the stories followed her everywhere, causing all sorts of rumours to spread like wildfire.
Poppy lifted her head slightly to look into Bea’s eyes, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that, I just meant it’s the last year of highschool, that means one last chance for us to win nationals and for you to come on top for volleyball.”
As mentioned beforehand, the extra curricular Bea chose to partake in was volleyball, not only did being part of a winning sports team look good on a college application, it also helped Bea with releasing her pent up anger and dominating her competition. Her favourite thing in particular was the smaller group of cheerleaders, including Poppy, who were at every game after Poppy made a compelling argument to the principle about the importance of raising school spirit in all sport related inquiries. Bea would often steal a glimpse at Poppy, who always came up with extra dance moves and cheers, sending secret messages that she was rooting for her girlfriend.
“One more year of highschool, do you know what that means Pops?” Bea smiled devilishly at Poppy who returned the smile and leaned her face in, lips ghosting around Bea’s.
“Why don’t you remind me?”
Bea grabbed the blonde’s waist and stole a quick kiss, “One more year means that next year we’ll both be in New York, and we can finally be together for real”.
“I can’t wait to live off campus with you, we should start looking at places now so we can get ahead and find a good place sin-” Bea cuts her off with a kiss while Poppy smiles, “I hate when you interrupt me with kisses”
“No you don’t”
“You’re right I don’t, but you better not slack this year Bea Hughes otherwise I’ll beat your ass if you don’t get into Columbia”
“I would never, I’m literally a better student than you babe. I would say you shouldn’t slack either but we all know daddy’s going to help you get into NYU.”
Poppy playfully slaps Bea on the arm who just laughs, “hey, no way in hell am I going to use the Min Sinclair name like that, when” (she made sure to put extra emphasis as she spoke) “I get into NYU it will be because of how amazing and talented I am”
“Not to mention damn right gorgeous and smart and incredibly flexible”
Poppy moves to straddle Bea, hands on either side of her head and she leans in, “hmm, you think the admission office will be looking at those particular things?” her tone teasing and inviting.
Bea attempts to move her head up only for Poppy to quickly place her perfectly manicured hand around her neck and push her down, Bea’s eyes flash as her voice pulsates with desire, “well I’ll definitely be looking, for educational reasons of course”
Poppy breaks out into a wide grin as the girls share a passionate kiss, tongues tangled together as they fight for dominance, Bea tries to envelop Poppy’s entire mouth with her kiss but Poppy’s unrelenting perseverance pushes through as she tightens the grip around Bea’s neck, pushing her deeper into the mattress. Bea succumbs to Poppy’s kisses and allows the blonde’s tongue to explore the inside of her mouth, getting lost in the wave of pleasure that emanates from Poppy’s lips.
After a few more kisses, Bea looks at the digital clock sitting on top of Poppy’s dresser, “damn it’s getting late I should go”
“Wha- it’s barely 10 o’clock”, Poppy pouts as her eyebrows furrow slightly.
“I know” Bea places a hand on Poppy’s face gently brushing against her cheekbone, “but you need your 8 hours of sleep and I gotta make sure everything is ready for Aria tomorrow”.
Poppy sighs defeatedly as she knows how important Bea’s half sister is to her, she’s practically an older sister to Aria and is also incredibly protective of her too. “Well tell Aria I said hi”
Bea moves to stand and Poppy grabs her hand, “wait, you didn’t tell me, how’s your mom?”
Bea nonchalantly shrugged and gazed at the floor, “same old, same old, she drinks herself into oblivion not giving a shit about the rest of us”
Poppy rubbed comforting circles on Bea’s hand, “don’t worry Bea one day it will get better”
Bea lets out a humourless laugh, “I’ve been saying that for almost 10 years”
She stalks over to the window and lets half of her body hang out ready to reach out to the tree, Poppy moves over and gives Bea one last lingering kiss, “You know you can use the front door, my dad’s not here”
“Yeah I know but it’s always so awkward when I run into Rita at this time because she knows that I’m screwing you”, Bea smiles while Poppy raises an eyebrow
“Screwing me?”
“Sorry I meant making love to you” she gives Poppy a quick kiss
“Much better, and anyways Rita doesn’t care, she’s been rooting for us this entire time”
“It’s okay, don’t worry P, I’ve been climbing in and out of these windows and over that gate for years, how else do you think I got these muscles”, she flexes her toned arms while Poppy runs a hand over them, “I love you”
“I love you too”, Poppy watches as Bea moves out of the window, gripping the tree and making her descent, “wait” she shouts down, “where did you leave your bike?”
Bea smiles up at her, “I parked it a couple of blocks away from here it’s fine, I’ll text you when I get home” she blows a kiss to Poppy and begins making her way over the gate and into the street which shone bright from the lampposts. Poppy sighs and closes her window and begins getting ready for bed until a knock at her door catches her attention. Rita, her nanny and keeper enters the room and looks at Poppy with a knowing glance, ‘Bea didn’t want to stay for dinner?’
Poppy laughs slightly and shakes her head, “no she had to get home to make sure her sister is okay”
Rita leaves a plate with a few cucumber and cheese sandwiches on the dresser, “don’t stay up too late Miss Min Sinclair,” and with that she gives a little wave and leaves the room closing the door behind her. After eating half of her sandwich and going through her extensive nighttime routine, she receives a text from Bea
💖 B
Just got home now
Love you and goodnight my love
Poppy smiles at her phone and then sets her phone on her dresser, not before putting it on charge, and drifts off to sleep.
Bea on the other hand was wide awake. When she safely parked her motorbike near her house and texted Poppy as she entered the house. She looked up from her phone into the dark room to see the tv quietly playing while her mother was passed out on the couch with a half drunk bottle of vodka on the table. She moved towards the couch covering her mom with a blanket and then went into her bedroom to check on her sister who was soundly sleeping in her bed. Bea headed into the kitchen took some cold pizza from the fridge and did some last minutes checks to make sure both her and her sister were equipped and ready for school tomorrow. She settled in her bed, her mind racing with thoughts about school and how challenging the first day back will be.

The Devil's Tango
Poppy x MC
Warning: Smut
Poppy straddles my lap and my breath catches. She could certainly sit on a chair, she has chairs doesn't she? Yes there is one right there, why did she--
"Hm, your makeup looks decent but i will be glad to wipe it off" Poppy says running a make up wipe across my face smoothly and honestly? She is so gentle my heart might explode. She is focused on her task but all i can focus on is her beautiful sight
What is actually happening? But of course i have no time to process anything
"This is a lot, i don't think we have that much time to go through all of them?" I ask and she rolls her eyes
"Of course not Farmsville. My cousin from Korea sent me a package with the finest skincare products and honestly? You could use some"
Ugh even with her on top of me she is being sarcastic. A part of me screams to get up and leave but her body is warm against mine and her expensive perfume makes my senses dizzy
"Let me know if it burns" she casually says and i open my mouth to protest and of course she ignores my attempts. I close my eyes ready to feel pain but its actually so refreshing
"Wow..it doesn't burn its.. actually amazing" i say stunned
"Then you are welcome, skincare routine doesn't exist in your life huh?"
Wow. For the first time i don't care about her attitude, for the first time i am so overwhelmed by what's happening that I don't have time to process how i feel because my mind goes blank and all i can think of is ripping her clothes off
I lock eyes with her and i see her questionable expression. Her eyes are dark with desire and this is the most sexy thing i have seen in months. I want to say something, break this awkward silence but instead i grip at her hips hard, pressing our bodies together
"Oh? Is that why you have been quiet?" She raises her eyebrow and gosh i feel like i cant even respond to something that simple.
Without a second thought i lean forward capturing her lips with mine and oh my, they are so soft and glossy. Her cherry lipgloss leaves a sweet taste in my mouth and I can't stop myself
Suddenly she pulls back and i shudder at the loss of contact but then i notice how Poppy's eyes sparkle under the lights
"Are you sure you can handle me Farmsville?"
Honestly i have no idea but she is on top of me like a greek goddess and even though my mind screams no, my body screams yes! And thats exactly what comes out of my mouth
"Yes, bring it on"
As soon i say these words Poppy and i undress eachother falling back in the soft mattress. She pins my hands above my head as she kisses me fiercely. Her tongue is dancing against mine, my lip is caught between her teeth but then again she pulls back smirking
"Stop being a jerk and kiss me" i manage to say breathless
Her eyes are eating me up and i haven't felt so sexy my whole life. She runs her warm palms up and down my thighs and i sigh happily
"I can't believe you hid this body underneath garbage" before i can even respond she reaches out in her nightstand and for a minute i think she is going to bail out
"Let's have fun shall we?" Is that? Poppy Min-Sinclair you kinky bitch. She is holding a pink vibrator in her hands with a smirk on her face. If you told me that i would be in Poppy's bed with her on top of me ready to fuck our brains out when i first got here i would have laughed at your face. But oh my, reality is sweet
I sit back completely at her mercy as she licks my neck. I hear a loud click and then i can feel the vibrator against my thighs. It's on the lowest mode because she is such a tease as always. She cups one of my breasts and nip at it hard as i moan loudly
"You have been a very bad girl Bea"
Did she just..?
I shudder against her and my mouth is open holding back a loud scream. The way she says my name is so addictive and needy. Her tone is teasing to a point my knees go weak
"Oh do you like when i say your name?" She bites my jaw as her free hand hold me firmly by the neck. I open my eyes and i watch her stare down at me like i am the most precious thing in the world
In response i arch up, grinding my hips against her and she closes her eyes in pleasure. She slowly guides the vibrator between my legs and when she connects where i need her the most i gasp
"Oh Poppy!" I scream but she is quick to kiss me hard. Our kisses are messy and passionate and it makes me wonder where this desire comes from
I reach for her underwear and she squeezes my neck tighter, gosh i am so wet for her. I place my hand underneath her panties and oh wow she is excited. I watch as she groan calling out my name with her melodic voice
"Oh Bea, yes" hearing my name come out from her lips makes me want to please her more. My hand works between her legs in rhythmical movements and i know she is on the edge
Soon we both shake as ecstasy takes over my whole body. I grab a fist full of her expensive sheets trying not to scream so loud. I say her name like a prayer and her eyes are hungry with desire.
She lays next to me and i really don't know what to say but i turn my head to face her regardless. She is bright red trying to control her breathing. She rests the vibrator on the nightstand and i watch her walk towards the bathroom, she doesn't say a thing but the open door is an open invitation.
I follow her and i watch her fill her extremely big bathtub with hot water and essential oils. Wow taking care of her self is no joke
I caress her back pulling her against me by the waist. I wrap my arms around her as she sighs "So that happened" she says dipping her feet in the bathtub to taste the water
I murmur against her neck lazily not wanting this to end. I came here to get dirt on her and i ended up doing the dirty with her. My mind is racing, rethinking how i feel about Poppy but then she gives me her hand pulling me towards the bathtub
I wash her back kissing her neck as i do so and she covers her face with her hands. Wow is she really shy? After what she did to me?
"You cant tell anyone about this" she whispers almost embarrassed but then she reaches behind holding one of my hands "Because they will not understand"
"I promise" i breath out focusing on massaging her shoulders
"No one stays after our hookup"
"I am not just a no one then" i smile thinking how many had the opportunity to see this side of Poppy but instead preferred to just use her for their desire
"You are lucky i wont upload this video of you making pig noises" she laughs freely and my hand freezes
"What now?" I go still wondering how much she had to dig to find something so bad about me
"Oh please, it was hilarious. Besides i told you i wont upload it"
So she really has that much power huh? She can find anything about anyone. For a moment i stay silent thinking her words carefully. I am trying to find something to give in that this is a trap but she is sincere and real with me and all i can do is smile at our progress
"Good. Because then i would had to leak your little hook up with Cl--" but she turns around throwing shampoo at me
"Ouch!" And just like that the bathroom is filled with our laughter and honestly? Poppy isn't that bad, at least behind closed doors and i cant wait to crack these ice walls down and see where this goes.
