Love your fic love, it's the best one I've ever read. Could you do something from Levi pov when he started realising he liked Reader and he felt about that?
first of all, thank you for such lovely words! i'm so happy you like it. second of all, i can certainly write you a levi pov where he had his 'oh shit do i like her?' moment xo
Tumblr media
all at once. / levi ackerman x f!reader
word count: 900 warnings: language, levi pov set in the silver underground universe
( read on ao3 here )
Tumblr media
Furlan had a funny saying about the people he fell head over heels for.
It happens slowly, he once told Levi.
The two of them were sitting around their newly-bought two-bedroom apartment, comically vacant and egregiously filthy.
With his long legs outstretched and crossed at the ankle, Furlan chose to sink his palms into the dust to tattoo his fingerprints.
To say he was there.
(I was here. I am here.)
Levi chose a more civilized position — sitting backwards on one of the only two chairs they had in this place, his sleeved forearms folded over each other on its curved back. He peered down at his friend with the utmost curiosity, head hung under a curtain of black fringe.
“The hell’s this question coming from?” Levi grunted as he shifted his shoe on the floor.
Fucking disgusting; he wasn’t going to sleep tonight if the entire apartment ended up being this damn dirty.
“What do you mean?” Furlan asked. "Which topic?"
“The topic of this,” Levi clarified, “and why you’re so interested in who I may be looking at on the streets."
"What, we can't gossip?"
The way Levi's brow quirked said otherwise. Furlan sighed.
"We're roommates now."
"So?"
"So?"
"I don’t think I asked who you're interested in, Church.”
“No, you didn’t,” Furlan hummed happily with a dopey smile on his face. “But now that we have this place with two whole bedrooms to ourselves, we have the luxury of inviting people over. Think about it: two young and handsome bachelors, ready to take on the—”
“Wait, invite people over?” Levi interrupted, brow rising. “This isn’t a community house. It's headquarters.”
“No, I know."
"Do you?"
"Yeah! But like I said, think about it: now that we’re taking names and carving our own legacies down here, I’m sure plenty of people will think we’re great. Maybe we'll even get some kinda group of admirers for our efforts.”
“Doubtful.”
“Aw, c’mon, Levi,” Furlan pouted. “Don’t you like anyone? There’s that one guy with the tattoos over on second street.”
“No.”
“Or the dark-haired girl who always seems to give you a discount on soups.”
“Not happening.”
“Why not?”
“Because.”
Furlan blinked.
The black-haired boy felt his temper — and embarrassment — rising.
“Because I wouldn’t know what the fuck it feels like to like someone like… that.”
Levi grit the truth between his teeth, hating the honesty that came with this ridiculous conversation.
The Underground City doesn't quite offer anything real. Down here love was transactional. There wasn't room for emotional error.
He saw what it did to his mother.
He saw how it molded whatever the fuck he’d call Kenny.
Bottom line was that feelings weren’t good.
And then there was Furlan, looking at him like he’d grown a second head.
“Well, when you realize there's something about someone, it's slow,” the ash-blonde boy suggested, nodding with encouragement. “From my understanding, liking a guy, girl, person, whatever — it happens slowly, then all at once.”
“How’s it slow?”
Furlan smiled, knocking his feet side to side against the wooden floorboards.
“Probably because the people you actually like are kinda in the background until they aren’t anymore.”
“That doesn’t make any sense,” Levi echoed. "You're supposed to be attracted to them first."
"That definitely helps, but that's like... lust or whatever," Furlan challenged. "I'm talking about liking someone. Wanting to hold hands or be with them so you can listen to them talk all the time and never get bored of what they're saying."
Levi scoffed, turning his chin sharply to the right as he considered.
Slow, then all at once.
Except it was never slow.
It would’ve been really fucking helpful if it had been.
You’d been ready to rip his throat open all those years ago.
No one had ever gotten the jump on him the way you had. No one would ever come close.
Maybe watching your fights after Kenny dropped him for reasons unsaid had been the slowest part about this. Watching your sweat-streaked face as you caught your breath in the midst of folding someone double your size like it was nothing. Listening to your voice in the alleyway when you spoke to that witch of a woman. Conjuring up an excuse to talk to you, to see if you even remembered—
It’d been all at once from the very beginning.
Someone as fleeting as a ghost had haunted his once dreamless sleep.
Hell, you still did.
“Sounds like you got someone in mind.”
His gray eyes darted back to Furlan, instantly on the defensive.
The other boy sported a goofy smirk. Levi scowled.
He could tell him.
He could ask if the way his throat closed up whenever he so much as considered uttering her name was a sign that he was head over heels.
That sometimes it wasn’t slow, but as fast as a blow to the damn head.
That sometimes liking a stranger felt more powerful than anything he'd ever known.
“Nah,” Levi lied, surging from his seat to stand at full height. “Only thing I’m interested in is cleaning this piece of shit up. I’m not sleeping on cobwebs tonight, so get up, grab a broom, and help.”
James.
Maybe one day he’d face it; liking someone.
Really, genuinely, devastatingly wanting someone.
But he couldn’t afford it.
(Maybe one day.)

oh boy IT'S tng update time. last night* we watched "imaginary friend" and "i, borg."
*tonight. it's 1am. whatever. it's posting tomorrow when i'll be awake but busy. anyway im gonna have to start splitting these up so tumblr will stop FUCKING me re my character count
imaginary friend:
what i like about this episode and indeed tng as a whole is that the little girl was fucking adorable. tng fans, your show has at least one point of validity. whenever there was a child on tos i wanted to throw them out of the airlock because they acted possessed. all the children on tng inspire within me motherly concern.
HOWEVER. THERE SHOULD NOT BE. CHILDREN ON A STARSHIP.
we've gone over this at length. we don't need to do it again. i am sick to death of hearing myself talk about it. i want to stop. and yet. every. and i mean EVERY. SINGLE. PROBLEM. in this episode. happened because there were children on a starship.
problem #1: child is making up a fake imaginary friend instead of making real ones = it's because her dad hops from starship to starship
problem #2 her imaginary friend is real now and wants to drown her in the pool like in that one episode of s*pernatural = this is because an alien, from space, read her mind, which it could not have done if she wasn't in space on a starship
problem #3: the alien HATES the grownups and thinks they should die = because she is seeing the ship from a child's pov, because there are children on this starship
and on and on and on.
aside from this huge and ongoing point of contention it was solidly watchable. i liked the little girl. i like guinan. i like worf being a big old softie when he found them out of bounds. i like people not undermining deanna's counseling work. i liked the horrifically unsettling imaginary friend with laser eyes who definitely absolutely inspired 2.11 playthings.
can anyone tell me if the other star trek shows just let them have kids on the ships? ds9 i get because that's a space station but are there kids on the ship in enterprise? voyager? discovery? genuinely please write in i can't take living like this
i, borg:
ooooooh. ooh i am twirling my hair and kicking my feet and giggling about it. OHHH finally we get a good tng episode. and not just a good episode a GREAT episode. the liz community has forgiven tng. oh baby where do i even begin
okay, firstly, beverly. she so instantly sees someone injured and HAS to help, i mean HAS to, it's so good. it's very bonescore in a way that doesn't feel like they're trying to make her a cheap bones knockoff but rather a spiritual successor. he would have also helped his enemy rather than watching him die. hell, he DID do that and got quite literally mind-raped for his trouble, and he'd probably do it again. i was really really lukewarm on poor bev at first but she's come into her own so well and i'm proud of her
the borg himself - third of five, aw, just like seven of nine - but no, hugh - the name is dumb but whatever i'm glad he has one - was well-cast. it would have been easy to make him uncanny and an unpleasant presence onscreen (this was my biggest issue with data's daughter even though the ep DID make me cry, deeply sorry to data whomst i love the most). his "you will be assimilated resistance is futile" song and dance was actually really funny when played off of geordi's wry indifference. "ok, but before we get assimilated, can we please finish x test?" so true king
geordi's a natural choice to pair with this guy because when he's not being the creepiest person on earth to holodeck girls he's sociable, outgoing, and patient. PLUS he has experience befriending machines because of data. hugh actually reminded me of data in some ways because of his general lack of understanding re: humanity but - and this is critical to me - HE IS HUMAN
like, i feel like the episode didn't quite nail the point home hard enough possibly because they were afraid of the implications but the cold hard truth of the matter is that each and every person on the borg cube IS A PERSON. they have been assimilated, but we've twice now seen that it's possible to unassimilate them with only a few days of effort. picard (and guinan!) consider the entire collective their enemy but the collective is comprised of brainwashed prisoners. those fucked up little borg babies they found in the cube were assimilated as INFANTS - i assume they weren't born on the cube bc if the borg could reproduce on its own it wouldn't need to assimilate - but even if they were born on the cube, they had no choice but to be this. you know.
which is whyyyy it's so fucked picard was like yeah give hugh some digital poison let him carry it back to his cube and we'll kill them like ants <3 like, oh my god his lingering borg trauma or whatever. MWAH. when he told deanna he didn't wanna talk. when he and guinan had to trauma-bond while fencing. when he told geordi that he needed to unattach himself because it was nothing more than animal experimentation. STONE FUCKING COLD BY THE WAY. he is fighting in the war on animal experimentation on the side of animal experimentation. he was going to let his cre heal and feed that kid and then send him back laced with poison. diabolical <3
and, of course, when he didn't want to speak or associate that borg kid at all because that's who he used to be AND WHO HE STILL IS in some corner of his brain (!!!)
LIKE. WHEN HE WAS FINALLY CONVINCED TO INTERROGATE THIS KID. and IMMEDIATELY broke out the locutus voice. he still remembered all the protocol! the way of speaking! everything! i was so shocked and thrilled.
i love also how everyone who spoke to hugh came away extremely unsettled but also totally convinced of his humanity. even guinan, which was so fun, because she was even more anti-borg than picard at first and they were bonding over trauma and fantasy racism. that bit where hugh, who had only known about the concept of loneliness for like an hour, immediately pegged her as lonely after like three lines of dialogue. oh my GOD???
i was decently satisfied with the ending - obviously they couldn't send him back with poison nor could they protect him from the borg, but i wish they had informed him of the inevitable memory wipe before he made his choice. (a selfless choice! he loves geordi!!) still i think he mostly walked into it with eyes open. very sad but very proud of him.
my one tiny nitpick with this episode is that for all beverly's genuine and justified concern about hugh, i don't think theyre ever gonna address the fact that she shot and possibly killed some of the borg in the episode where picard got assimilated. i feel like after realizing they are all people, like hugh, she should also realize she's broken the hippocratic oath, and have a little crisis about it. i have no idea why we had the DOCTOR shooting and killing anybody but let alone if we aren't gonna get into that. i don't think anyone cares/cared except me though.
but tbh, for me this is one of the main draws of the borg. they're ALL brainwashed cyber-assassins and they're ALL prisoners and in theory ALL of them could be saved if only they would stop attacking first. sure, yeah, in fights you gotta do what you gotta do because your own life has gotta come first, but the unique scifi horror aspect of all of those guys being perfectly innocent people fucks and they should utilize it a little more!!!
NEXT TIME: "the next phase" and "the inner light."

on something something anon here :DD
-On regency au Jayara
YOU YOU YOU YOU!!!! HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME, I'M GOING INSANE, I'M GOING CRAZY OVER THEM
I've always been a massive fan of royalty love stories for some unknown reason and it imagining these two with that aesthetic makes me go wild, one of my fav stories ever is Cinderella (1950), mainly because the aesthetic is just right!! (mostly it's because I love Cinderella, she deserves the word, my silly willy girl)
Jason hating Yara is funny as hell, this is princess swan on reverse because 1. Jason isn't a cunt who only appreciates women for their beauty, thus he doesn't need that lesson, and 2. They never truly stop hating each other.
their bickering starts loud and iconically, I mean, you can't not go down in history as a badass when you are Yara Flor, the girl who slapped Jason Wayne so hard he went flying through an entire ballroom and hit the biggest bush of flowers, Jason spent the rest of the week spitting flower petals, mostly at her.
Yara deserves to resemble Princess Jasmine (from Alladin) solely because instead of a tiger it's her horse who keeps scaring people away, despite his goofy face. Ironically enough, the moment Jerry and Jason meet they hit off immediately. (Martha was there with them when that happened and in the distance, she could hear Thomas screaming that was a sign he was correct!! they're made for each other)
But it's that delicate soft lonely feeling of silently dancing together in a ballroom that starts to change things (<- delusional Cinderella stan dumbassery)
Bruce always told Jason that if you want people to love you have to love them first, Love them harder, do it dearly, and do it because you care, not because you must. It's hard to understand someone so different as Yara, but he knows that uncomfortable when you have to practice dancing while people are watching, and you're bad at it. So he asks their teacher to let them dance together, alone, and he's whispering to Yara she's doing great because out of the two of them, he's the one who fell on his butt twice. (Yara learned that day it's very hard not to blush when there's a deep voice in your ear calmly telling you're good, you're great at this and you don't need to shy away. She wishes he would have said more)
my god, I have to draw them RIGHT NOW
(I don't want to make this ask bonkers long I'll come back for more later >:3)
YOU'RE GOING INSANE? IM GOING INSANE!!! oh anon how you've blessed me. Bewitched me body and soul.
Yara wasn't forged for grace; she's better with a sword than with a fork. She can't tame her reckless tongue, or her crude jokes, or her atrocious table manners.
She's not dainty and sharp and quietly powerful like one of Jason's paper fantasies;
There's admiration for them, a respect, a desire to see them succeed and flourish, especially when he talks of them with so much passion and fire, but that'll never be her.
She's always been too much; Too loud, too hot headed, too opinionated, too strong-headed, too much like Her to be anything even close to good. She's not poetry.
She's flesh and attitude and stubbornness and she knows, like a truth for the ages, that Jason Todd wouldn't marry her if Cupid shot him twice.
But when they dance together, when big hands carve a perfect hold on her hips, when clever fingers mold her frame almost possessively, Yara thinks, for someone that can't stand her, he sure doesn't touch her like it.
For someone that can't stand her, he's so quick to her side when another lord makes a flirty comment to her.
He's quick to say "disrespect my wife again, and I'll show you war" when lord Luthor won't take her strategic advice because she's young and has no cock for him to measure with.
"Do you think I'd have a bigger cock than him thought?"
Jason braids her hair (he's the only one allowed to touch it) and doesn't even need a second, "Of course"
But is she better? Is she above loudly correcting someone when they say poetry and writing are futile skills and Jason's the one wayne man who won't amount to anything? When she bites his neck so the next time high ladies have something to look at? When she defends his honor? No. Yara isnt
In conclusion; They're idiots in love your honor

do you think that those who are in denial about the tae’s situation is actually kinda /disappointed/ with taehyung? i mean bcs we can see that tae is someone who REALLY values his privacy and if its true about him dating her i think its kinda weird that he would freely went out with her in public, knowing & ALLOWING the paparazzi taking photos of them freely :// i get it that if they want to go public, but i think a simple statement could just be made & whatever mess that is happening rn in the fandom could be stopped.
and i admit that jn is hot & pretty, but tbh she doesnt looks like tae’s type lol i always picture him dating a woman who is more elegant/classy/chic and i think the situation will be different if he dates someone else (bcs these two fandoms are always at each other throats lols)
however, i know that we owe both of them nothing & should be respectful of their private life. and tbvh i dislike how ppl always trying to relate & connect whatever things that both of them do in their life to each other just bcs they are in a r/s, both of them are their own person first and foremost i feel like now ppl will only discredit their own hardwork bcs of their relationship ://
sorry for the long rant tho hope you have a nice day!
I'm sorry it took me so long to answer this. I've been in a weird place this past week. Everything's been a blur.
Anyway! Thank you for being patient 🙏🏻
Firstly, I'm not gonna speak for majority of people bc everyone is different, not everyone is sad or mad or happy. That being said, I would hope people aren't disappointed in him, although some might be, I can't say bc I don't know 🤷🏻‍♀️ everything i say here is solely my opinion and in no way an attempt to lump anyone into a group.
And speaking of, in my opinion, neither of them has done anything wrong and there's no reason to be disappointed in Tae himself as if he's done something he shouldn't have. But that's me! I can't stop people from feeling what they feel.
Who knows, maybe he doesn't gaf anymore, y'know? Idols are constantly being stalked and ruined by paparazzi, it's sick and inevitable. Maybe they just wanted it to be on their terms? I'm sure they knew they'd be on camera, but I'm not them so I don't know that either. All I can say is if they did know and wanted it on their terms so they said "fuck it" then I say SLAY. It's about time idols feel like they have some say in their own lives even if all hell breaks loose bc of it.
I don't think a statement would have been much different tbh. People will be angry if they want to be angry, people will be happy if they want to be happy, and people will be hurt if they are hurt. A statement might have made it more clear instantly, but I think it's pretty clear already imo. And I think people still would choose to wonder if it's say, a promotion scheme thing, like they have already. People like to make conspiracies if they don't like the truth about something.
Fandoms are constantly a mess for one reason or another honestly 😭 idc we can all fight it out as long as tae is happy and the army's that are genuinely hurting are not attacked just bc it would be easy to point fingers at them. I'll stick up for our artists and I'll stick up for the army's and blinks that are hurting 🤙🏻💕
Jennie is so much more than hot and pretty, though. I've been a blink for almost as long as I've been an army. I found bts in 2017 and blackpink just a few months later. Yes, they are beautiful and talented. But they are also sweet, and kind, and so funny. Jennie has gotten so much shit that she never deserved. It's easy to hate people when we don't know them and when we're behind a screen. I personally love her, I don't know her in real life, but from what I've seen of her, she is so loving and kind and funny and protective and just all around an amazing human being. It doesn't matter what I think, but in my opinion it makes sense for those two. They're both amazing souls that are full of goodness. And if that ever changes or is proven different for either of them, then I guess I was wrong. But that's how I feel rn.
As for the ideal type thing. I've got a few things to say about that.
First of all, we don't know them. Their ideal types could be the exact opposite of what we think or imagined. There's never a way to know.
When they say stuff about their ideal types, its usually when they're newer in the industry and younger. And they are more than likely feeling pressured about answering so they either pick general things, or what they think then, and it probably changed lol. I doubt anyone's ideal type stays the exact same forever.
Besides. What if his ideal type was the opposite of Jennie, and then he met her and fell for her anyway bc he's not shallow? Seems like that happens a lot to people that aren't immature.
You might not have meant any harm with that comment, but I think you should think about it some more. It's offensive to Jennie to say she's hot and pretty and end it there, like that's all she has to offer, and also offensive to Tae to say it's weird he ended up with her bc armys imagined it differently and to think he'd pick someone solely based on their looks. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks, he likes her and that's that.
And let's be honest. Asking a teenage boy what he likes in a gf/bf is stupid. Firstly, it doesn't fucking matter and who knows why tf they do it. But also, teenage boys are most likely gonna be shallow. They are gonna focus solely on looks, especially in a society that normalizes that.
And then they'll be labeled with that even as they grow and begin to mature in their thoughts and words and as they realize it's not okay to label people as needing to be a certain height or weight or to shove them in a box to fit their "type".
It doesn't matter if it was someone else, like I said people will be mad if they want. Its an excuse to hate on someone who they have already chosen to hate without good reason.
Fan wars are stupid. I'm just gonna say it. They're stupid and immature and literally pointless. It has been such a ridiculous journey being both an army and a blink. It's honestly disappointing that fans feel like they can validate the war between BTS and Blackpink. There is no war between them and never was lol. Just the fans that can't grow up. Like damn. Hasn't anyone learned? Can't we love our boys and girls by showing them love in ways that aren't solely on votes and views? Fans start attacking their own for not streaming. Ridiculous.
Nonnie, I hope that you don't think I've attacked you personally in any way in my answer. I know it might not be how you think or perhaps something was worded in a way that you did not mean. I think the word 'disappointed' triggered something in me and brought me back to years ago when Jungkookie apologized to army for the dating accusations and said he wouldn't disappoint us. That still fucking hurts me so badly to think he'd give up on something just to keep fans happy. As if they won't someday grow up and marry and leave him wondering his own worth in the end. It kills me inside when they feel like them being human is a disappointment.
Tae could never disappoint me unless he did something unforgivable, and that certainly wouldn't be dating someone.
I hope that no one feels like that about him, but they will feel what they want and I can't stop that. I also hope people won't be judging their accomplishments bc of their relationship.
You don't have to apologize for sending long asks guys, I don't mind at all and there's nothing to be sorry for!
Love you nonnie, and again I hope I didn't hurt you with my answer. It is to a lot of people, not just you 💚
ILY 💜

Blood Buddies Stuff pt.2 Glen/da
thinking about my au again and the way I really wasn't a fan of how glen and glenda's characters were treated in the show, as I said in my previous post I don't think chucky should hate kids and even if he did manipulate glenda to help him I think he should have appealed to them by telling them the truth about their family situation and having them finally understand what their nightmare was about instead of holding it over their head like bait to get them to just help him blindly so these are my thoughts about the twins, their doll body inner dynamic and how I imagined their relationship with their dad for my au:
- glenda and glen are their own personalities sharing the doll body, I do see them being one piece originally that split into two and they still want their own bodies because of how hard it is to manage sharing one with the other (especially considering their moral differences) so them being twins is perfect for them because they get to have that classic twin sense where they can guess each other's thoughts, talk in unison for fun, really play up the twin powers thing
- I love them both having gender in the show so in my au they're both genderfluid, glen primarily using he/they pronouns (occasionally she) and glenda using she/they pronouns (occasionally he)
- like we saw with nicachucky in the show, glen/da works on a similar trigger system where certain things bring each personality into control of the doll body (glen is terrified of killing so when he's put in those situations that prompts glenda into power so chucky would have found out about glenda the night he took them out to kill for the first time)
- after chucky was woken up on the kids' 5th birthday they did remember him, and surprisingly he was a fairly decent dad and got along with the twins the best he could even if he got along with glenda better for being evil
- chucky's dynamic with glenda is something that's been on my brain forever and I think they should be besties, like yes the oldest daughter (nica) is the yassified version of her dad but glenda is the one who is just like him, like I can see her driving him around in the they/them mobile and going 'can't help it I'm an asparagus' after they drive over the curb at jack in the box and he just thinks the shit she does is so funny and he loves the way they are a public nuisance (I imagine they're also the type to turn the bass all the way up on the radio and just listen to their music loud as hell)
- glen does his best to get along with their dad even tho their personalities don't click like it does with glenda but I imagine chucky does small dumb stuff to show him that he cares even if glen has a hard time putting up with him (that video of the mom giving her kid the rainbow cake and just going 'ally' is the vibe I'm getting from chucky's parenting of glen)
- glen will play 100gecs in the car when it's their turn on the aux and chucky complains until the bass starts kicking in

Hi chat, I need to spread my truth. In Lisa the painful, there are two party members out of the 30 party members that can be read as a trans, Fly and Queen
Let’s start with Queen because she has the most. Now the game does not portray her in a good light (trans wise) however, she could be read as a transfem. Look at her character bio, it states “…Queen Roger was outcasted as a child for his feminine behavior. This ultimately is what has given him such a thick skin. Even before the apocalypse, he has been known to kill people.” She was outcasted by people for her femininity, and she grew tough because of it, to defend herself from those who judge or saw less of her simply because she was trans. As well as when others are shown to be mistreated for their femininity (example the intro for when you enter the beehive), she beats them til they're nothing but broken bones and a pulp of flesh. She’s also the leader of a group of people who give women-less(???) world, a place of freedom and self expression, As well as simply a sex house, but that’s besides the point. The point is, this is one of the safest parts of the game, because it clashes with the games theme of toxic masculinity, it opens the main protagonist to an area with freedom to express who you are, whether that be in a quick and short notice. Hell, you can even become a bee! And that’s how you get her as a party member! By doing work in the beehive. Anyway enough about this cool badass transfem.
Fly is described to hate his life before the flash and then adopting a new persona after the flash, thus making him happier than he was before. To quote the character bio, “Frank hated his life, until he became "Fly". He based his new self off of a cool Sentai Anime he would watch.” It was like he molded a self he could finally look at with joy and a little too much pride, so much so that when he is beaten at the thing he brags at he will hate you for the rest of the game, following you around and insulting you until the end where he doesn’t hesitate to kill you. “Now terry why did you bring that up” because it’s truly interesting how much he care about this persona enough that when a single person gets under his skin about it (unintentionally that is) he’s bitter and petty about it. It makes you wonder how much this persona means to him and how he was before the apocalypse. Though, I can only theorize that it was the pent up rage of all the traumas and experiences being in the wrong body their entire life. Also Fly could be read as Transfem, Non-binary, or even transmasc. Go wild my friends.
Now, why pair them together?
Now Fly and Queen have not talked/interacted with each other yet (unless you want to wait til the new update drops) however, I think the idea of the two bug themed characters being paired up, is neat in a way. Like how flies imitate bees in real life. Also pairing the guy with the most hatred in the world with a girl who is kind of like a straight (wo) man is a little funny, but also neat because they can both have thought provoking convos if the main protag isn’t mention (for example, both discussing how they found their true selves or something along those lines)
Anyway, this has been my propaganda ramble. Please vote Honey Cart one million times

Accepting || Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship (I'm taking these in the romantic sense; you guys are getting romantic relationship headcanons) @fatummortem
I completely misconstrued this meme and thought it was asking more in the sense of what if our characters had a romantic relationship rather than just having headcanons about their relationship in general, so that's the context I had while writing these headcanons. Feel fee to send it to me again if you want some platonic/friendship headcanons involving our characters
Rose
They are still a bar fighting couple. Still the worst pair to see walk into a bar together because there's a chance it's going to end up in a fight. They're probably banned from a bunch of bars. I just get so many chaotic energy from them together.
I feel like menacing Slade would practically be a side job for them. Like somewhere along the way a pact was made between them to either make his life hell or to take him out.
Honestly, how they are and act with probably wouldn't seem or feel any different than they are as their friendship.
But I do feel like that they would be more physically affectionate or the sort just wrestle. The image of Rose just suplexing Thad is on my mind rn with this scenario. It's just so funny to me. She definitely could teach him about either wielding weapons or more hand to hand/close tech
Daken
Honestly, I think it would really fun if Daken and Thad were competitive with each other. Or still had sorta intense fights with each other even if they were together. Also truly fighting/play fighting is a very valid way of flirting with Thad.
They would be the sort that always prods and teases with or annoys the other in their own way that just becomes their own love language and incomprehensible from an outside perspective.
Jailbait would probably take on an affectionate ring like how Rose has managed to make Viriginal Green Speed a positive nickname. Though Jailbait might also still get complaints from Thad as well XD.
I think the 'lies have scents' thing Daken mentioned would come into a play with them as well. Thad is simultaneously very curious about that, but also sorta hates it when it's used against him because he's always lying/not exactly telling the full truth or obfuscating for the sake of his own pride. Like in instances in where he would complimenting Daken about something/or just down playing how much he liked something than he was willing to outright admit.

BLOG TOUR/UNDERTAKING LOVE
Book details:
Undertaking Love by Megan Montgomery Publication date: April 1st 2023 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Synopsis:
Bethany West upgraded her lucrative career as a sex worker for her dream job as a death worker when she partnered at Smythe & Co. Mortuary. She expected her eco-friendly innovations and death positive attitude to blow the roof off the Victorian-era relic. But that was seven months ago, and during that time, she’s only managed to piss off her embittered business partner, George Smythe, a man dead set on maintaining the status quo and driving Bethany out of his namesake business. When the pair reluctantly travel together to a mortuary conference in New Orleans—and compete in dueling embalming demonstrations—George finally recognizes the value of Bethany’s business model for the first time. He’s also starting to recognize a growing attraction to his blonde bombshell business partner. Meanwhile, Bethany learns the truth behind George’s cold contempt, and it’s much worse than she thought, stemming not from a single incident, but from the constant on-call status, the compassion fatigue, and the overwhelming stress of the job. Bethany has 4 days to crack open his tough outer shell to reveal the compassionate man she knows is inside, and she has a plan, but unless George learns to open his heart and lean on her, at the risk of succumbing to their cremation-level attraction in a dangerous way, he’ll jeopardize both the business and their hearts by refusing the true partnership they both need.

MY REVIEW
This book was a wonderful and dirty read. The heat level of the two MC's is a 10.
Again in this book you will learn all you need to know about the life of a mortician/funeral director. You will read about some really disgusting scenes and things you probably would have rather stayed oblivious to. But although it is gross it is very interesting and intriguing.
Our main characters in this book really have that whole love hate relationship down. They constantly bicker and fight. George is on the verge of a total breakdown and Bethany is sure to follow. Overworked and at each others throats constantly, one of them is bound to break. But when they realize that the whole reason behind it is some unresolved feelings of love, things seem as if they might get better. But then the whole thing comes crashing down in one failed swoop.
This book has some truly deep emotions throughout. It is heart breaking yet romantic in a odd sort of way. It is a book that is not for the squeamish and should not be read lightly. Our characters travel an extremely bumpy road full of hurt and pain.
Overall it is a very interesting, yet very strange love story. The characters are unusual and very challenging. With all that said the book is a page turner and you learn a few things about what it is like to be drowning in yourself and not even know it is happening until it is too late. You will definitely shed a tear or two, hell you may even scream at the characters a bit, but you will walk away with an air of satisfaction in the end.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reading them snap at each other is somehow both very hilarious and also sad:( They are both so sad and angry (at themselves, mostly, I think) and it’s making them bitchy with each other.
Also it’s very merthur of them bc if Arthur were exiled and had to live in an abandoned hut im sure they’d behave similarly djdkfjd
Enrjfkrei between the Merlin names and the Extended Party names I was just grinning……Honestly calling him wise one is prob the closest dndjdjekdkd
‘The wind gusts against their shoulders, cutting sharp lines of red into Will’s cheeks.’ The Parallels holy fuejcjeckwjf❌ how are u such a good writing I’m going to lay on the floor.
I have a feeling the Truth will Out because of the Shadow🤔 Like I know Will wants to tell him tomorrow maybe but either he’ll decide not to or the Shadow will make the decision first. Or maybe I’m reading into things lmao
God dude I just. Love this fic sm. I’ll be sad when it’s over but also hell yeah I’m happy for you with all the writing you’ve done!!
Ejdjdic Naruto-shirt fist bumping you. I think you met a Fae or a god or something djekckwkfwkdj
Hope you are doing wonderful !
honestly writing their banter for these chapters has been a double-edged sword. like it's funny!! hahahaha!! also they hate themselves and they're acting like this because of the respective guilt they feel!! hahahaha!! :')
you are,,,,so so right about the merthur parallels. writing this chapter was giving me similar vibes as that one episode where Gwen lets Arthur stay with her so he can participate in that jousting tournament as Not Prince Arthur and he spends his time acting a bit like an ass. yeag
eeeee i'm glad you liked the merlin and party name drops!! those were fun little things to sprinkle in this chapter of doom and gloom (also the mcr reference. i originally put it in as a joke to myself but when it came time to cut it out i couldn't do it. my little emo heart was just too attached T_T)
Vee i need you to know that any time you compliment my writing or bring up any parallels ever that i feel like this
Tumblr media
or when anybody points out anything about my writing, for that matter, because i will just write stuff and then apparently it will reference back to earlier things and i never notice (unless i plan for it, which i only sometimes do). i literally didn't pick up on the fact that that line could refer to the scars on their chests either. wow. i am giving you a thousand glowing flowers for pointing this out because i definitely wouldn't have picked up on it~
you are not reading too much into things!! your theories are all good, and all i will say is that. um. this chapter marks the halfway point in part 4, and there is lots of resolution at the end of this part. lots.
it makes me unbelievably happy that you like this fic so much T_T i know i keep saying it but it has really been A Struggle getting through it, so it's nice to know that other people are enjoying it :]
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SAID ABOUT NARUTO SHIRT DUDE!! well okay my actual words to my brother were "i think i met a demon," but honestly fae or god works too. either way i'm convinced he wasn't entirely real. honestly it was a 10/10 interaction and i'll never forget it, but it was just. so odd.
i hope you're doing wonderful as well!! i am wishing you all the best :] 💜💜💜

Can I have more thots on Maroon being a Steddie song pls?
I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED ACTUALLY
So first of all to get the angstiest part out of the way: "And I wake with your memory over me / That's a real fucking legacy to leave" is, to me, Steve about Eddie in canon after his death. Pining after a man who he could have had a connection with, a man who deserved better and never deserved the mess he became tangled up with, Steve being one of the only people who knows the truth about Eddie Munson - that he was a good man, a sweet kind funny weird man who never wanted to hurt anybody, who loved fiercely and ended tragically because he believed he had to prove himself when he never did. Steve is haunted by this, the memory of Eddie, feeling as if he has to hold onto these thoughts and feelings because so few people know this truth and it's Steve's job to preserve it even at the cost of his own heart, realizing just how much of an almost Eddie truly was for him. He almost knew him. He almost had his friendship. And maybe, someday, if they'd had the time, he would have almost had his heart - and that's the legacy Eddie leaves for Steve.
And on a canon-divergent note, if Eddie HAD lived, if Steve HAD been able to reach that level of care and love with Eddie that he was so so close to having, to me Maroon tells the story of two people who clung to one another after saving the world. Living in a world that doesn't know how close it came to ending and latching on to the few people who know the truth, building these trauma bonds together that accelerate their relationships, that land Steve and Eddie in a messy, tangled, intense relationship where they fall hard and deep and feel as if they've always known one another - "When the morning came, we were cleaning incense off your / Vinyl shelf 'cause we lost track of time again / Laughing with my feet in your lap / Like you were my closest friend" showing the happy beginning of it, ""How'd we end up on the floor, anyway?" you say / Your roommate's cheap-ass screw-top rosé, that's how / I see you every day now" being together constantly, maybe even moving in with one another to escape the bad memories and becoming way too codependent.
They're so, so happy together that they let the relationship carry them in a way they shouldn't - they allow the relationship to become their focus, lose themselves to it and push aside the things about themselves that they do need to work on because they're clinging so hard to one another. It keeps them from growing and moving on. Everything is fine because they have one another, but that's not realistic. It's not healthy, and that's how we land at "When the silence came, we were shaking, blind and hazy / How the hell did we lose sight of us again? / Sobbing with your head in your hands / Ain't that the way shit always ends?" and at "You were standing hollow-eyed in the hallway / Carnations you had thought were roses, that's us". Eventually, things fall apart because love, as important as it is, just isn't enough when there's such a shaky foundation beneath it.
They love each other, desperately and intensely, but their trauma leads to them fighting and lashing out and not communicating, and eventually, it all comes crumbling down, resentment builds and they don't even know how they got here, arguing all the time, angry at one another, the distance that feels entirely uncrossable between them - "The mark they saw on my collarbone / The rust that grew between telephones / The lips I used to call home / So scarlet, it was maroon."
It leads to a painful, messy, but necessary breakup, forces them to confront their own demons, and makes Steve deal with his tendency to throw love at the people he cares about in the desperate hope that they'll accept it and love him back and makes Eddie deal with his urge to run or turn away from the difficult conversations and tough problems he hates to face.
They end up growing within themselves in a way that is vitally necessary for them personally, and then eventually, somehow, someway - they work back to one another, to the loves of their lives, and they become SteveandEddie again.
sorry for the essay about them I just have a lot of feelings about them hopefully this makes ANY SENSE AT ALL

Jared stans: *spend all their time lying about Jensen, hating on him for existing, trolling our accounts to find things to complain about, trying to push their false narratives that Jensen's fans act like hellers*
Also Jared stans, when one of us sees our posts getting dragged for no reason, with embellished lies on top, and calls them out, forcing them to look in the mirror, where they have no possible justification or even comeback: i'M NOt goiNG tO EnGaGe wiTH yoU, YoU STALKERR, yoUU! Also, guys, fellow Jared stans, look, LOOK, I have a stalker, I'm so famous and important!! (right, because I came on your account to get mad about your excitement - or proportional lack thereof, yikes - about your fave's projects? Oh, wait.....)
Tumblr media
(The fact that my tweets ended up on that one crazy incel's page to be criticized, the one who's essentially the Jared stan version of a heller, who sits there all day and fabricates lies about Jensen while claiming to be Very Intelligent™️ and an industry expert, is so funny to me. Like, if she thinks I did something wrong, that I'm a "stupid AA", while she's so smart and knowledgable about all things Jensen, because her crystal ball told her those things about him, and she's SO impartial and totes loves Jensen, even as she twists his words and straight up lies about him all day long to FIX him (because he's going to be coming to her for advice? Okay, lmao) while also praising Jared all day long for existing (you're not slick, lady, everyone knows you're a Jared stan, and your "former Jensen fan" anons that show up to parrot that oh, they've seen The Truth™️ (that Jensen doesn't and shouldn't revolve around Jared? That truth?) are actually your group of the other crazy Jared stans).... if this is a person who has an issue with me, certainly I'm doing something right)
And this coming from people from the group that ships Beau x Cordell, two characters who aren't even on the same network, let alone TV show. Like? Do they see how stupid they look, coming at me for shipping Beau and Jenny because "it's only been one episode"?
Also, why do they care what I'm excited about or not? Jared really isn't enough for all of them, huh, if they have this much time on their hands to be hunting down things to be bitter about other people's preferences that have nothing to do with them, instead of focusing on his two whole totes amazing, totes chemistry filled projects.
And the most interesting part is, Mr. Human Rights & Representation's cult is bullying people for shipping BA/JH because they don't mind being misogynistic AND racist and have turned a WOC lead into a stand-in for their fave guy and will thus hate on every other relationship and Mr. Be Kind, Don't Bully Anyone, Mental Health is So Important's stans are hating because it bothers them that people are excited for this show and the role, when I guess they've got nothing to look forward to themselves. No matter how much they say they're excited for W and WI, their actions show a different story. Sucks to be them 🤷🏻‍♀️ Pro tip, worsties, if you didn't spend all your time focusing on hating on Jensen, maybe you wouldn't have to be so bitter and angry at Jensen having his own career, which he's worked hard for and is excelling at, outside of Jared, and people being excited about his projects and respecting him as a person, because then maybe you could spend some of that time actually promoting Jared and his projects.
These two groups are a perfect match made in hell, two sides of the same coin. Wincest this, destiel that, clearly the actual ship is these two cults together. Wincesties & hellers riding off into the sunset together (or decimating each other, I'm not picky) and leaving us alone, when?
Also, I didn't watch Walker, because I don't waste my time on things I don't care about, but I just remembered, weren't Jared's stans shipping him with Tilly (Tilda? Something like that, the chick from his undercover stint) who shows up in one of the very first episodes just from the promos, not for any reason other than to "stick it to Gen" who I quote, they call "a sausage stuffed into a dress"? Like damn, if I hate someone, at least I do it because their personality sucks, y'all out here making fun of a perfectly good face, smhhh, which, even if it weren't, it truly is a new low to make fun of something a person has no control over
But sure, how dare I ship something based on chemistry that didn't even need a whole episode to be demonstrated, it was evident right away, the complementary storylines and tropes I enjoy, and characters I like?
Or maybe I should've been shipping wincest and destiel so hard and so loud, dragging my issues in front of the actors and writers, that the writers felt compelled to write scenes just to laugh at me. That's 100% not embarrassing or deranged at all.
For my next trick, I'm going to complain about anyone who says that the WIndy cast has such good chemistry and will make a good team, based on not even one episode. And then when that person whomst I'm targeting comes back and tells me they have their reasons for their preferences, then I'll act all high and mighty, and like they started a fight, not me, simply because I have no comeback at that point (the Jared stans' one comeback is "you're just a heller". When they can't use that anymore, it truly is amazing how quickly they shut up. So I guess I'll start with calling names. Then I'll pretend that it was not I who started the fight, and try to turn it on the person just defending themselves. And for extra spice, I'll call them the stalker). Oh wait, that's not a trick, that's called being a whiny loser with no life, who sits there and does nothing but hate on people minding their own business. After that, I'll seek out every tweet, every article, every single last post about Walker and WIndy, and complain about it, and claim it's because I care SO MUCH about narrative integrity, and nothing to do with a personal vendetta when I found out the world didn't revolve around me or my fave. I'll also make sure to let everyone know that I won't be watching those shows, in every single post as I continue to talk about them, continue to bug people who actually watch the shows and try to pretend to be the expert, you know, just to really make myself look like a full blown idiot

the kisses in atla are actualyl good and cute and wish we could have seen that in action for LoK. also never wish to pin down sexuality cos thanks to the europeans that's when they made stuff that already sucked worse.
maiko with
"i'm bored" "i know" "i'm hungry" "so?" "so get me some food" "sure"
first of all, theyre pissed at each other. and even when they're annoyed they have to touch each other and be in each other's business and be strange and misunderstood but together. she didn't even say "get me some food" that pissed and zuko was irritated but still. he'll do it.
people say they wouldn't work and i don't really get that at all...maybe that ppl don't see It for them (which is fine!) or maybe because fandom wars of things that aren't real (which is stupid).
you can't disentangle their livelihoods and nationhood from their conceptions of self and the way they live. and i think that they are the most likely people—who growing up under, accepting, and/or being a footsoldier of imperialism, colonialism, and fascism and whatever political-economic system they have based on the falseness of ordained rights—could change or at least be open to it. also theyre teenagers. nothing about them lends to intelligibility with regards to their future besides their ages. usually the swiftness of the characters liking each other would make me laugh but it feels nice to be with them and the way they relate to each other.
when zuko said "i don't see it that way" in boiling rock, mai didn't even respond. she was pissed because he left her a note without saying goodbye and she loves him but she wasn't mad at his thoughts. his beliefs. that she must have known he always had. that she may have felt but allowed herself not to—which is a failure in itself and something she will have to atone for forever. they all will.
from what i have seen there seems to be some idea that mai is just a bitch? i guess? but zuko's character shows just how real these people are and how conflicted he is. he's complex but i thought it would be harder to connect to him because i hate everything harmful in this world but you can tell there's so much in him that's just very sensitive, intense, and good. good IN the dark because the dark is light too.
to me i dont think he could be with mai if she couldn't accept that or if she mocked it. her yawning the first time we see them with each other reminded me sm of iroh. at first i was like bitch wtf (after i laughed lmaooo)??? but then i laughed more cos like she obviously did it on purpose. he's not doing well. he never is but he's really not doing well. i was looking forward to the both of them anyway but i didn't want it to be like she's some cunty unfeeling gf and i feared that my fears would be cemented. but it was the opposite!!!
"i don't see it that way" and i think mai is starting to not see it that way too. if she even ever was connected to herself for long enough to think on what that means. her non-response and the fact that they were still talking to each other was such an important signifier. she had nothing to say because that's how they are it seems. the truth is something they need and zuko is genuinely a terrible liar and cannot keep his insides...inside lol. and even though she seems to have a tight lid it's not dishonesty she has a problem with at all. it's the consequences and with him the consequences will never be injurious. it hurts like hell to have someone leave you, break up, have this mission they feel they need to do but harm?
i'm so tired but i love them lmao
which is why i guess i got kinda confused when i saw something about mai not being a person outside of zuko. i REALLY like her character. she could be my favorite if she had a bigger role but i definitely liked her the moment i heard her. that's such a different way to introduce a female character that looks so dark and stoic...she just complains. and her voice is so beautiful lmao but like. she sounded miserable in a funny way. and the comics are really uh interesting (lmao) but it made me like her even more. she's very cool, very funny, very real.
learning how upset and scared she was for/at azula to put an apple on her head to set on fire. knowing that zuko is a sensitive boy who looooves his mom and her love and didn't want mai to hurt because he's a human being seeing another human being in distress so he pushes her to safety. (his "girls are crazy" made me laugh sfm. WE ARE.)
what i really loved was when azula decides to fuck around with her baby brother. i literally said "OH SHIT" irl because that's just such a fucked fucking thing to do. and mai's pause had me thinking she would try something else because you could tell that she didn't appreciate that and was calculating some other way to get what azula needed to finish this bullshit. and in another ep when mai gives azula the Look after she gets up to tend to ty lee bc azula was upset that no one was making out with her...mai makes it sound easy like she's fine with it but it isn't, she's not, and she's tired of all of this bullshit. she wasn't tired or angry enough but she got there.
i looooove love love love love when she says "helping the jerk that dumped me" #1 bc shes making fun of herself and him #2 because it helps her realize what the fuck is going on. i laughed bc she's dragging herself, betraying her imperial lover4life "best friend", and ruining her life in the process. it isn't really over a boy. it's over one of the few things she gives a single shit about because she was given a reason to care.
her scenes are heavily with zuko but that's because, narratively, atla being majorly his story she is in his life. that's how this stuff works. the world does revolve around zuko because the show is also about this amazing character. so the people in his orbit are about him. azula is a person outside of zuko but he is central to her life so he is why her character exists. they dont strip mai of her personhood but to us as a viewer watching the main characters worlds esp the other half of the protagonists (i call him a protag sorryyy) we know mai through zuko. i don't think being a girlfriend to the show's second main character and being introduced via that lens means you are nobody without them. that's a big part of her story tho! but he is not the reason i like her. i like her because i relate to her.
being different is hard especially if you've lived through abuse. being called melancholy and weird, resrved, intense can get really frustrating. having people misunderstand your interests and outlook. and then just being fucking depressed. i saw that the voice actress said her character is depressed (and probably anxious) and it makes complete sense now. that void in you, that need for serotonin, lack of joy in anything, turning yourself off so you can just exist for once. and having oppressive forces always telling you what to do. how to think act talk feel. even how to love. and fucking hating being told what the fuck to do.
everyone's got it all fucking together but the girl who pretends at having it together gets scolded for it but also for ever even thinking of falling apart. she doesn't have to leave those strange gloomy parts of herself behind with zuko and shouldn't with anyone (i know ty lee accepts her so much tho!)
she's not boring in the slightest. she's fucking cool and carries stilettos. fashion icon! but like when things get brighter she can have more interests, a say in herself, a say in her life. she has a safe haven with zuko because he's also all those things that she is too (but very open and honest). being different and unhappy and wanting something more when the world youre in cannot give it to you. for mai she accepted it (mistake. a bad one) and for zuko he just couldn't do it.
when he tells her that he wasn't himself she listens. she knew what he meant. i'm assuming she's felt what it's like to simply not be able to do This anymore. to hold on.
and she does like other people. i mean when zuko asked about that boy when he was being a pussy and jealous during The Beach i was surprised she didn't say "i don't think about him at all" but her reasoning was i don't know him so how can i? that's a different response than simple dismissal over someone you don't know to placate your boyfriend. she's not gonna do that anyway lmao but idk it was so interesting she displayed no hatred. how can i feel for him when i don't know who he is? but not you're the only one for me zuko pls cry some more! thank god
(aside: i like kiyoshi a lot for being serious and stoic but also not. shes' probably not as funny or playful but i love a bisexual bad weird tall bitch. her empathy weighing with the necessity of what is to be done. an individual in a crowd. idk i just like girls like that. and i think kiyoshi is exemplary of the type of person mai could become. all the things that make you different and off to others because you hate pretense and feel a lot become a strength.)
i also love that she lets ty lee hug her. yea personal space but whatever with your close friends you put up with shit. that "clumps?" thing was my faaaaaavorite. first of all cos theyre cute together gotta find some art and fic but also she was playing along. when she asks ty about the circus...did anyone else ask ty lee that? and mai actually being annoyed when ty lee makes fun of her with the makeup.
she is a very full human being living in a place where being an empty miserable shell is normal and they live like the tiny town in footloose. i forgot what katara told the man who killed her moms about himself that was so spot on. just about how EMPTY and unreal their lives are. how they don't know anything at all. they're tiny tiny men. that's what theyre living in and all the people who got out one way or another seem to have that problem: being different.
every time she defies azula even if it isn't to her face. when mai's fed up she cracks a joke at her own expense. if someone gave her some mao she'd def sit and think on it ;) i don't think it's fair to say she had no knowledge of things that her "nation" did but she is a teenager and a sad abused one whose conception of herself is so tied to all the order their environment dictates. the only way out of it was to paper over and try to have people understand her through the necessity of being walled off.
i think as the show goes on the problem is that the characters all feel and know they have to change. what used to work no longer works. they, every single one of htem, are living as abused kids and are trying to make that abuse work. some can never ever make up for the wrongs and probably dont want to, some will always have to attempt but can make an amazing life with that. in the fire nation, mai will always be bored because she's miserable and that misery is part of the fire nation's existence.
we didn't spend a lot of time with her but they made a character people really liked and connected to. whose motives are weird, human, and will forever need to be atoned for. looking cool while kicking people's asses > and having a best friend fuck up her own life cos u inspired her and she loves u then u go 2 prison and then the world is kinda free so she joins a girl gang and gets a gf (i made that up)
in the end mai is with zuko (the series finale group scene is one of my fav scenes in the series and i wish we had more and less of that kiss where i had to watch 2 5 year olds kiss with dramatic ass music omfg) but if she didn't want to be there she wouldn't be. ty lee isn't there. and yes suki is there and we could say it's the couples but suki has been fighting with them (and she and zuko are friends! i mean that's mostly after in the comics but whatever). so they want to be there. mai wants to connect with people and see what they have to do! and a big part of that is being with zuko and caring about what he cares about but her own interest herself. what are her interests? i wish we had gotten more time to see her hobbies or who she was. that isnt because they made her about zuko but simply the structure of the show. now i could expect more but considering they made a character who is relegated to girlfriend and, in typical atla fashion, wrote something solid is good to me. that's why i can like them a lot.
i don't think mai has also ever really lied except if she needed to. i have to go back and check but it strikes me that she's actually honest. i think this bitch is so cool!!!

Book #137 - The Red Scrolls Of Magic by Cassandra Clare And Wesley Chu
(oh I just love piecing together sudden relationship growth plus a nonsensical break-up years after the fact. I love backfill like this. (no wait, that's mean. I don't mean to be mean. but hell, I'm still mad.) also, hey, while I spend this post mostly bitching, please believe that I do it with love. loving irritation, but love nonetheless.)
I don't think it was a good idea of this book to remind me of just how much I hate City Of Lost Souls. Like, it really, really wasn't.
Funny thing I've realized is, reading the Shadowhunter novels from, like, City Of Heavenly Fire onwards, is really funny, because I will read and read and be mostly annoyed and then I will get to the end of the book and I'll be like "... goddammit, Cassandra!" because I will leave the book more or less still satisfied. What is your magic, lady??
These books are my genre of popcorn. I will not elaborate.
To tell the truth, most of this book has already left my brain again? But I know that the ending intrigued me. I want to know how the fuck Ragnor is still alive, and how he goes from living in a cage in this book to living in a cave in Queen Of Air And Darkness. But I am reading by release date, and so the answers to my questions are still some torturous miles away.
Also, Alec and Magnus are, yes, very sweet. Apart from those moments when Alec suddenly gets switched into douchebag mode by the narration, for like, a paragraph or two, and it causes weird friction between them. Or when Magnus decides to people-please (which at least makes more sense characterwise) instead of be honest and vulnerable, and it causes weird friction between them...
See, to me, Malec is great when they're cute and in tune with each other, and absolutely unbearable when they're out of tune. I hate their fights, especially the little, unspoken ones, and I hate the break-up storyline so much. Not because of shipping reasons, but just because the whole thing is so unnecessary and uncompelling and cringe and stupid. And I hate it.
(But, hey, in a round-about way, this lead to the (later) break-ups from the show, and I adore those, so like. Probably shouldn't complain too much. (They had build-up! They made sense! Apart from the first one, they weren't cringy, discordant bullshit! I once met a person who said they honest-to-god preferred the City Of Bones movie to the show and I still cannot fathom what they were on about, because like... have we watched the same trash fire?? The show was gold! Golden trash, but gold nonetheless.)
Wait, I was talking about a specific book, wasn't I? Ah, whatever.)

Yaz Şarkısı episode 3
Below are my thoughts about episode 3, again with major spoilers included.
(More like an incoherent rambling than thoughts but it is what it is lmao)
This time my notes are more or less in chronological order just as the episode progressed.
Overall thoughts:
Yaz and Kemal actually look kinda cute together. Their together scenes were cute.
I also like Yaz and Murat together though, so like... I'd be alright with either outcome given decent circumstances.
The more i see the more i adore Yaz and Murat. YazMur is probably the way to go. The way they're looking at each other omg. At this point i prefer YazMur over YazKem for sure!
Murat is my favourite character and probably the only character towards whom I have no negative emotions at all. Efekan is very talented actor. He can show wide range of emotions only using eyes which i always love.
Some of the scenes were actually funny.
Chronological order:
• What the hell is wrong with Emine and her problem solving methods always including a gun?!?! I mean, how can you do that? Adults usually,... I don't know... TALK before taking out a fucking weapon! On the side note: I don't know the process of obtaining a gun in Turkey but here you must pass a psychological tests to be eligible for a weapon license. And Emine for sure wouldn't pass that...
• I know we shouldn't sympathize with Neri but like..., she had every right to call police. I mean if you were at someone's house and heard a gunshot out of nowhere wouldn't it be the logical thing to do when you have no idea what's happening and are scared for your life? Maybe she could withdraw the lawsuit, it would probably be the right thing to do but like. I was kinda okay with the outcome, Emine doesn't have a weapon anymore which makes everyone in her proximity automatically much safer lmao (I'm only half joking now... I'm seriously glad she's not armed anymore).
• Aslı is really getting on my nerves. Girl, Kemal doesn't want to have anything with you, just accept that and move on. She is really really really awful person. All the stuff she does to Yaz and then she acts as her best friend, I wish she will suffer consequences of all her awful actions. And how she's always touching Kemal, aaahhh, if it was the other way around it would be immediately called workplace harassment. Just, i hate her.
• I have a mixed feeling towards Defne, i don't know. Sometimes she seems as a chill and kind person. But on the negative note, how she was flirting with the guy, like he said he didn't want to join the party and he didn't want anything to drink. Defne should just accept no as an answer and not push harder. Then she spills tea over everything. They spent whole night fixing everything she ruined because of the tea escapade. The guy tells her it would probably be for the best if she doesn't walk around his desk in the future (given the stuff that happened) and he's the bad guy? Like... How? In the scene both Aslı and Defne gave signs of toxic behavior imho.
• Poor Murat!!!!!!!! Murat, my dear, you deserve someone better than Yaz, someone who will truly love you and appreciate your efforts! He was done dirty. I mean, sorry to break it to Yaz, but people on average just can't lie their way out of everything without wink of an eye. Yaz started the game of fake marriage proposal. If we put Murat's love to Yaz aside, he wanted to help his friend and played along. They start to be in a mess because of all the lies and when he wanted to tell his MOTHER truth after she FAINTED before, he is the bad guy? Yaz, you should be thankful Murat plays along with you! Show some respect and be thankful! He tried his best and unfortunately it just didn't went according to Yaz's expectations and she's angry at him that his mom made a conclusion Yaz must be pregnant if they want to marry asap. That's bad, I agree, but 1. he couldn't say otherwise beacuse she passed out from shock again and 2. Yaz's lie started the game so Murat really isn't the one to blame.
• I disliked how Yaz went to breakfast with Kemal rather than dealing with all the mess and leaving Murat behind.
• WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YAZ'S FAMILY?!?!?! WHY THE HELL DID THEY KIDNAPPED MURAT?!?!? WTF?!?! Again, I truly don't understand Emine's concept of problem solving... She thought she would stay in jail so she made her relatives kidnapp her son-in-law? Does it make any sense?
• Murat, please, turn around and RUN! Run away from Yaz and her toxic family.... If someone kidnapped me I would never forget and I would probably also not forgive.
• To be fair, Murat should have said to his mom that Yaz is in fact not pregnant. Like why would he let his mom think that? No reason for that. Fake wedding is one thing which is like... kinda easy to cancel but a BABY? That's not so easy to lie about. If he didn't want to tell his mom the whole truth (because he wants to help Yaz (but it does him more harm than good imho) but okay understandable) he DEFINITELY SHOULD HAVE told her that it was a misunderstanding and Yaz is not pregnant. No reason to make even bigger mess of the situation than it is.
• I'm so glad Murat stood up for himself! You go, my dear! Tell Yaz that she needs to value your efforts!!!
• I'm so happy Murat also saw right through the fake facade of Aslı. The only people who still thinks she is a genuinely nice person are Yaz, Defne (and probably Fadime). Hopefully Yaz will soon also realize what kind of person Aslı really is.
• I'm glad Murat and Yaz reconciled and that Yaz acknowledged her mistake(s). That was very cute scene.
• Yaz again left Murat behind and went away with Kemal. Even though she promised Murat they would go to his mom together. Her actions are kinda saddening. Once again, poor Murat.
• I don't like Sema at all... At all...
• I HATE unnecessary shirtless scenes (which are pretty much all of them lmao), but like I'm not exactly the target audience so it is, what it is 🤦🏽‍♂️😂.
• Yaz really is egoistic af. (Kemal also though.) Murat was so right during his argument with Yaz. No one thinks about him or take him into account. I wholeheartedly agreed with every sentence he said. He is damn right!!! They both are in a difficult situation but Yaz started the game.
• Don't even know what to say about the end tbh. I truly don't know. I think it will be for the best if the truth came out, rather sooner than later. So I'm kinda okey with that. Hopefully they will find out Aslı is behind everything and at least fire her. At least...
Final note:
As someone on twitter mentioned, it would seem logical to me, if YazMur were the way the story unfolds. Like Yaz is in love with this idea of Kemal, the perfect Kemal, which is only her dream though. In reality he's nothing like in her fantasies. So it would be great if she found out that she's in fact not in love with the real Kemal and will realize Murat, who's truly in love with her, will make her happier in life. I want Yaz to fall in love with Murat very much!!!! Let's break the cliches and stereotypes and make Yaz and Murat a happy lovely couple.

HI!! for Pravin in the Inquisition asks: Blackwall - 3. Did their treatment of Blackwall change after discovering who he was? If yes, how so? Sera - 2. Did your Inquisitor see Sera as troublesome or simply fun-loving? Did they join in for her pranks? and Cassandra - 1. Was your Inquisitor Andrastian? Did their religious beliefs affect their relationship with Cassandra?
3. where's that fuckin post
Oh yeah. OH YEAH. Pre-revelation I think he was somewhere in the vicinity of 'I'll treat him civilly but something irks me about him and I also sure don't like the way he's flirting with my cousin' and afterwards he's more like, blatant hostility.
Pravin has an interesting relationship with untruth in relationships. I think that bard work, like other forms of espionage, is one of those professions where everyone involved knows that they're keeping secrets from each other, but with a tacit understanding that it's a security measure--you lie to maintain your own safety and the safety of people close to you. For this reason, he isn't bothered by the fact that Blackwall lied, and certainly not that he did it to protect and reinvent himself. Blackwall wasn't actively creating problems for his associates when everyone believed him a warden; he was working and helping, and whatever sordid stuff he might have in his past wasn't an appreciable liability at that time. Him telling the truth, on the other hand, did harm--it created a PR disaster for the advisors to clean up and devastated Thalia.
I think Pravin's empathetic enough to understand that Blackwall harbored a lot of guilt and felt bad about his men taking the fall, but he also very much thinks the reveal was Not The Way You Solve That Problem. He has a hard time forgiving when someone hurts him or a person he cares deeply about (like Thalia) and a nasty habit of holding grudges, and thus winds up largely avoiding Blackwall in the aftermath--apart from making sure he isn't lingering anywhere near Thalia, anyway.
2. Troublesome.
Pravin's biggest issue with Sera is her willful lack of political foresight. He does hate abuses of authority and has sympathy for many of the Jennies' initiatives--this is a guy whose midlife crisis came after he was nearly made a casualty of Loghain's power play, after all--but he's very careful to work within existing social and institutional structures because he's keenly aware that war is hell. He's someone who operates in shades of gray, who knows people are complicated, and that sometimes you have to get into bed with folks you don't particularly like to create the changes you want.
Sera, on the other hand, tends towards black and white thinking. She tends to actively reject information that doesn't fit the bounds of her worldview, while Pravin's constantly seeking to inform himself as a safety measure. She's hotheaded and deals with her trauma through impulsive actions, while Pravin deals with his through bottling that shit up and presenting a cold, calculated ruthlessness.
To him, Sera's a child with some growing up to do, and an unpredictable element that he doesn't really have time for. He won't be a jerk to her, but neither will he entrust her with much of anything.
(He will admit that some of her more harmless pranks are funny, though. He…may or may not have offered suggestions once or twice. Actors get up to shit, okay.)
3. Pravin is, as I've mentioned elsewhere, a Creaster. Or a Wintersend-and-Souls'-Day Andrastian, however one might wish to put it. He believes, but he doesn't practice much, attending Chantry basically just on major holidays and occasionally engaging in prayer when he's particularly stressed. Much of that has to do with his knowledge that he's actively living a lie and has carried out some, er, questionably necessary violence in the context of his bard work; he considers himself a sinner and has a difficult time feeling altogether comfortable in religious contexts on account of that.
He honestly admires the way Cassandra lives her faith. She has a solid moral framework but is also pragmatic and realistic--while his own ethics are dodgier, he still strives to maintain a certain principled professionalism. She's less about religious rules than responding dynamically to the people and crises she's confronted with, which falls in line with his own political instincts. She's critical of the institutional Chantry but grasps the importance of reform over revolt, an attitude he shares due to his aversion to warfare and upheaval.
I headcanon that Cass is the one who initially notes that Pravin isn't attending regular Chantry services after he starts working with the advisors and guilts him into accompanying them, haha. His relationship with her ultimately evolves into sort of an odd working friendship (after he tries to seduce her because he's Like That) and I can actually see her being the person in the Inquisition cast that he'd be most comfortable talking about matters of faith with (gonna put a mental pin in that.)
