With the reveal that Aduo didn’t actually want to be the mother of the nation, looks like we now have a concrete path to a happy ending for Jinshi.
Though I actually really want to see him as the Emperor one day (at least for a time), it would be thematically appropriate if Jinshi takes not after the Emperor, but after Gaoshun and becomes the retainer of the future Emperor.
less discourse about whether the roman campers are child soldiers more discourse about how reyna/jason/percy/frank consistently tried to topple the democratic process of camp jupiter
daily reminder that channary jannali blackburn, a sadistic tyrant who ordered her seamstress’s feet to be chopped off, loved cinder more than linh adri. A TYRANT, KNOWN FOR BEING EVEN WORSE THAN LEVANA, LOVED CINDER MORE THAN ADRI.
*grabs tiktok's shoulders* Jude isn't selfish. she is not a self-serving girlboss. the reason she played for the throne was 1) to keep Oak safe, 2) to keep mortals safe, and only then 3) to grab as much power as she could. she could have been and is always tempted to be, but she always stops herself in time.
It's crazy that people still uphold show!Sansa as a well-written character and pretend that liking her is the pinnacle of feminism when it would be infinitely more impactful to acknowledge her terrible and misogynistic writing. This is the same character who, while written by two men, was thankful for the abuse she suffered because it allowed her to grow. The same character who we had to be told was smart because the writers were too lazy to develop or show her intelligence. The same character who had to rely heavily on the men surrounding her and ended up accomplishing nothing on her own merit ( and no, thinking that she deserved to be Queen doesn't mean that she earned it). She is not well-written, she is not complex, and she is not a feminist character. Which is fine! If you enjoy her then good on you, but please stop pretending that she's something she isn't just because you feel the need to justify liking her character
Season 1 Baghra: Going after the stag to increase Alina’s power is GREEDY, Aleksander. To make sure you don’t find it, I will attempt to murder the tracker you hired.
Season 2 trailer Baghra: I will help you go after the rest of the amplifiers, Alina. It’s totally not greedy when I do this. I am a good person, you see.
Ulla is the type of bitch who wrote fanfiction of real people in high school but instead of boy band members it’s long dead scientists. She ships Zhan Tiri and Demanitus and she’s like “omg Don they’re just like us 🥰 “ and Donella is like “no stop wtf you’re insane. Why did I have to fall for that one? 😒”
ill be for real i think the deep cover mv was really disappointing. not from an art perspective ofc, the visuals are fire especially nearing the end, but the characterization feels so cheap to me?
its not that i have a problem with her being portrayed in a less than sympathetic way. i think its good really, it makes her an interesting take on the "he who hunts monsters" trope. i think she was definitely harsh and unforgiving even before taking up vigilantism. i think her cruel streak has always been there, even when she was acting in a more "righteous" way.
and maybe its just me missing something but for a character thats depicted as having a strict moral code, even if its violent and possibly ultimately an excuse to hurt others, the portrayal of deep cover kotoko just feels so shallow. like its baiting you to want to hate her with these flashes of her pushing away children she supposedly saved and demeaning the other prisoners.
you could tell me theyre trying to make a point about her being a bad and judgmental person with these moments. and it makes sense sure. but my point here is that its just boring. maybe i just havent looked into it hard enough, but for a series where the characters are supposed to be morally gray this feels like too much villainization. she already assaulted two people who cant defend themselves. deep cover is just her having a power trip over it and wanting to hurt more people. theres nothing wrong with a character just being a bad person obviously but i thought we were supposed to have moral dilemmas here or something
