But seriously, who tf are YOU to say that bi-Buck doesn't "belong" to anyone who doesn't ship Buddie?? Bi-Buck belongs to EVERYONE no matter your sexuality, gender, race, etc. If you see yourself in him or just like him, HE IS FOR YOU. Bi-Buck doesn't belong to Buddie-shippers just because Oliver hinted at some attraction.

And I think it's so ironic that this person says that Bi-Buck only belongs to Buddie-shippers because there have been "hints" and Oliver's interview. Meanwhile, Bucktommy has kissed on screen, been on two dates (because damn it that coffee meet-up was a date), and Buck invited Tommy to his sister's wedding and Tommy was basically Buck's sexual awakening. And all of this in the span of two episodes!

The only ones denying a part of Buck's identity are Buddie-stans like this one because instead of celebrating this new chapter of Buck's life as something about BUCK as an individual they, once again, reduce it to something that's solely about their ship.

It doesn't matter if Buck ends up with Tommy, Eddie, or hell, even a woman because bi-Buck is for EVERYONE!

Buddie shippers when you tell them you're not interested in shipping a pairing that hasn't gone canon in 6 years but they insist it's a slow burn.

The real problem is that some buddie shippers act like you have to ship Buddie and get angry at people who ship Buck or Eddie with other people.

look, I am not new to the 911 fandom, I was in it for years, and it's actually the reason I made a new account a year ago after that garbage fire of a season, I wanted a full fresh start without any of that on my blog

if it had stayed on fox and/or KR had stayed in charge, I would not have touched the new season with a 100ft electric pole. but tim was back, things were looking good so I decided to dip my toe back in

obviously a mistake. if I thought the rancid "long-form storytelling" side of the fandom was bad, this is just insane. wanting a newly bisexual character to immediately cheat? wanting a gay character to get killed off so your otp can get together? repeatedly commenting "umm I think you mean buddie" on official insta posts and willfully misunderstanding Oliver's joking comment?

(I'm not even getting into the disgustingness aimed at Lou or regarding the whole "kid" comment)

no wonder these people block everyone who slightly disagrees with their vision, if they stepped one inch outside their echo chamber they'd be bowled over with the sheer common-sense that they're lacking

and i keep seeing the same, I wanna say "defense"? for their behaviour, that buddie is something they've "been waiting 6 years for" except no. they've been WANTING it for 6 years. and like a child they think if they want it hard enough then they'll get it

sorry nonny, this got long 😬 but my new year's mid-year resolution is to stop censoring my own opinions in fandom for fear of rocking the boat. yes, pls come out of writing retirement to add the growing plethora of bucktommy fics 🙏. I think when the problem with a ship is the fact that a character got uncomfortable after being pushed into the closet again and made a snarky remark about it + the fact that one of the first times they meet he calls him kid then maybe, just maybe the ship really isn't as problematic as you make it out to be especially against the other ship with one of the characters where another character currently isn't queer and in a committed relationship that he would cheat on to be with another character.

I'm watching season 5 and 6b of 9-1-1 for the first time (I fell way behind) and it's very....interesting to see what I've already seen on tumblr, what I remember the fandom hating, and what's going on that I had no idea even happened because it never talked about in the tags at all.

Taylor is so not as bad as the fandom makes her out to be. I don't agree with all of her decisions (especially with the Jonah storyline) and her and Buck maybe don't make the best pairing but I like her. And she really was just doing her job with the Jonah thing. Nothing inherently bad about that at all. She reports the news and she never named a source or anything. Just means her and Buck don't make the best match. But Taylor as a character is cool and I like her.

Same with Lucy. She's pretty cool actually. I like her a lot. Why the hell did the fandom hate Lucy so much? I was expecting the bitch from hell based on posts I saw but she did nothing wrong the whole season. She was really great and I hope we see her again. She made good rescues, fit in with the group, wasn't pushy or arrogant, followed Bobby's orders but still voiced her knowledge when necessary. She showed emotions and was humble and fun and kind. Why do you all hate her!? Is it because she and Buck kissed? Once? Mutually? But because she's not Eddie that makes her evil or something? She did nothing like that every again nor did she make Buck feel bad or pressured at all so why do we hate Lucy???? I'm so confused about that.

I'm also seeing that tons of people hate Josh now!?!! HOW!? WHY!? Josh is the best! I love Josh! Is it really for the ONE line he said to Eddie in which he was correct? Eddie was a guest. He's not a dispatcher. And besides it acts as a way to get Eddie to realize he's a firefighter. Josh is amazing and I love him.

And how has this whole ass Jonah storyline just never talked about at all?! He kidnapped Hen and Chim and killed Chimney several times just to bring him back!! He nearly drove Bobby to drink again (I love that scene between Bobby and Eddie when Eddie shows up just as Bobby was thinking about drinking again)!!!! And I saw nothing about it!!!

And how about the surprise Karen/Hen vow renewal! That was beautiful! Saw nothing about it on here.

It's just so very telling of the fandom of what I see on screen versus what the fandom fixates on and how they view things. It just serves as a reminder as to why I need to continue to avoid the 911 tag as much as possible if I want to enjoy the show as much as I do because we are so not on the same page here.

The fucking funniest scene is I just saw someone say everyone is making Buck's coming out arc about Tommy (someone who is genuinely a major part in Buck's journey) meanwhile I have had to literally scroll past so many fucking posts that just complelty made every important moment for Buck slowly accepting that he might not be straight about how Buck and Eddie (who is currently still a straight man with some heavy religious trauma) can finally get together and cheat on their respective partners.

Stuff like this is exactly why I went from completely neutral about Buddie (don't see it but wouldn't protest if it was a thing, whatever) to fucking hating that ship and everyone who ships it. You see, it's not enough for slash shippers to just enjoy their little OTP in peace - they just HAVE to be virulently misogynistic to every woman who approaches these dudes.
