it won't let me reblog it for some reason, but I want to put this shit out in the open.
Fuck you, OP. Holy shit fuck you so fucking much I hate you.
I have to go on a diet all by my fucking self and try and scrap healthy food together in my house, which is hard to do beyond words because my parents have a fucking junk food addiction.
And rather that being mature adults and taking care of their children, can you take a guess as to what they do? That's right! They push this stupid fucking addiction onto me and my siblings.
Health food is an actual fucking TREAT for us. And my parents make fun of me when I want good food. "Oh ArE yOu On A DiEt? YoUrE ToO YoUnG."
Yeah. I AM too young to need to go on a diet. That's the fucking issue. You should be taking fucking care of me. But you're not, so I have to do it myself. I REFUSE to live like you people. I'll fucking STARVE before I get that big again, and I wasn't nearly as big as some people. It didn't look like it, but my health was SUFFERING. I was hurting and I had no fucking idea until I got smaller because I was USED to the health issues. Fucking gross.
It's child abuse to force your bad habits onto your children.
Disrespectfully, fuck you OP.

I don’t care how you spin it, being fat is, with very few exceptions, not good. This is coming from someone who is fat and is working at losing weight, because I know that being fat is detrimental to my health and wellbeing. Sure, there are some people who can be fat while being healthy, (say, professional powerlifters for example) but for the vast majority of people like you and me, being fat is shortening our lifespans, causing bone structure issues, and generally being an inconvenience to us and those around us.
Some people are just naturally heavier than others, but that’s one thing. Being fat is another. If you’re going around talking about “fatphobia” or whatever, you’re encouraging and reinforcing unhealthy behavior. There’s a reason that the world is not built with fat people in mind, and that’s because being fat is bad, and should very much be discouraged.
Again, I am fat. I am trying to lose weight and not be fat anymore, because being fat is really bad for you. Body positivity related to weight needs to stop, flat out.

hey. do you think fatphobia isn't real? do you think its made up? do you think fat people are complaining about the natural consequences of their actions?
why do you care?
no, really, why do you care so much about fat people? why do you care that they are "complaining"? why does it make you so mad? everyone complains. all the time. and, i mean, this is tumblr! nothing matter here. why do you care so much?
why do you get so angry at fat people you think are gross? why do you care so much about someone else's supposed eating habits? hygiene habits? lack of exercise routine? why does any of that matter?
are fat people actually doing anything to you? affecting your life? changing laws or bullying you? really? how? do you think that fat people are coercing skinny people into fat lifestyles? how? by existing? by complaining? by talking about problems in their life?
are you concerned that they're ruining their bodies? why do you care?
its not your body. its not your life.
unfortunately, if this post does end up getting gears turning, the people who change their mind won't say anything. the people most likely to respond are the fatphobic "anti-fat activists" who are blinded completely by their hatred of fatness and fat people. any fat person who finds this post, please be cautious of the notes. i don't know what they'll look like.
but if you have someone in your life who might benefit from these questions, go ahead and ask them. ask them to explain their bias. maybe it will make them see how pointless it is to hate fatness. safety first, however.

Why do you seem to seek out topics abt fat people and just be an asshole? Dont you have anything better to bitch abt?
it’s weird that people encourage obesity/being overweight when it’s a genuine medical condition that kills people. u don’t see cancer patients encouraging people get cancer and u don’t see people pretending that cancer doesn’t kill, so why do people do it with obesity??
obviously being a little overweight is fine but weighing too much isn’t something to encourage or be proud of. no one should be discriminated against for how they look but people need to stop pretending like being extremely fat is healthy when all it does is lead to a premature death.

I love when FAs will lie and say that to be skinny, you have to be obsessed with food at all times. Nah babe, its not that complicated. I pretty much never measure my food unless I’m following a recipe, and yet I’m still only 120 pounds. How could this be?
because the foods that I eat aren’t junk and garbage. I eat fruits, veggies, lean meats, potatoes, and rice. I would have to split my stomach in half to eat so much of my regular diet that I became obese.
It’s also funny how they think us skinny girls eat the same thing every day, lest we gain a pound. I eat a varied diet, I eat hamburgers (homemade so not riddled with salt) I love roast beef with mashed potatoes, corn, steamed broccoli, and gravy, Split pea and ham soup is awesome, I eat veggie and chicken stirfry, I make pancakes often (With homemade maple syrup from our own maple trees) and I enjoy much more than just that. but all of it is healthy and full of vitamins that my body needs, not just empty calories. So when I do go out to eat, I don’t have to feel guilty about those chicken wings and fries, I don’t have to worry about my blood sugar after my friends birthday party with cake and cocktails.

I see a lot of FAs claim they are recovered/recovering from an ED. Now if I don't genuinely have a reason to doubt them, I won't. I haven't ever been diagnosed with an ED, so I know I won't be able to completely understand, but I have and still do struggle with disordered eating.
With that being said, if going from one unhealthy weight to another is part of your process, then so be it. Recovery is not linear. But what is important is that you don't stop there. Don't stop trying to heal your relationship with food until you're able to maintain a healthy weight because being at the opposite of where you were does not mean you are ok now.

I think telling a partner to loose weight is hard in american cultures bc in other cultures u can say it and its just whatever. We are way too sensitive here tbh and it’s annoying like control urself already. U dont need another cookie
Agreed, again, to an extent. In a country where the government basically pumps chemicals down our throats, it's a little harder than normal to control ourselves. Most of our foods have literal addictive drugs in them. We have an addiction epidemic. But, as someone who has gotten over an addiction to salt, I know it's possible. I know there aren't any excuses. My parents were literally feeding my addiction, so someone who lives on their own especially has no excuse. It IS a matter of will power.

So I’ve seen a lot of fat activists say that doctors often prescribe weight loss for their ailments and that by doing so, they are fatphobic and I just wanted to debunk that.
Early into my first year of college (Culinary) I was getting fainting spells in the kitchen, I would get pins and needles in my hands, my chest would feel really tight, I would have trouble thinking, I would get dizzy, and then I would go down hard. Obviously I called to make an appointment with my doctor because fainting anywhere is bad, fainting in front of a stove or while holding a knife is worse. The first question I was asked was “What do you eat for breakfast before class?” and I responded with “I don’t usually eat breakfast” because the class started at 7:30 in the morning and I didn’t have an appetite.
So my doctor recommended that I eat breakfast before hand and drink more water while in class because the most likely cause of the issue was my blood sugar getting too low. So I started having a smoothie with peanut butter in it before that class and guess what? I fainted again and I made another appointment.
This time my doctor ordered blood work and found that my iron, while not dangerously low, was on the lower end of normal so he prescribed iron tablets and to continue eating breakfast. Ultimately, the issue was the heat of the kitchen and I learned that I simply can’t handle the job of being a Chef so I switched majors.
Now the reason that I bring this up is to point out that doctors will try to eliminate the most likely cause of an issue first. The most likely problem for me was low blood sugar so he told me to eat, the most likely cause of joint and back pain in a fat person is excess weight. Now, they’ll point out that sometimes the problem isn’t caused by their weight, which is fair, but by eliminating the most likely option, the doctor can focus on the other, less likely options.
So the next time you want to get angry at your doctor for prescribing weight loss, remember that medicine is a process of elimination and that by refusing to help with that, they don’t become a bad doctor, you just become a bad patient.

A little something I noticed about the HAES/fat acceptance movement is that they are anti-bodily autonomy.
Sure, most (if not all) will say that they're pro-choice and pro-body modification but those are only a few "acceptable" things that one can do with their body. Many are against/mock people who have undergone cosmetic surgery (especially if it has to do with removing/relocating fat), most are against weight-loss surgery, and almost all are against intentional weight loss all together.
Bodily autonomy is the freedom to do whatever you want with your body and no one has any say in what you can/can't do.* Just because they believe that people should have *certain* freedoms with their body does not mean they are pro-bodily autonomy.
If you shame anyone for their choices regarding their body, you are infringing on their bodily autonomy.
*obviously there's a gray area when it comes to legitimate health concerns. Certain activities such as smoking or dangerous levels of body mods should not be encouraged and criticism of those choices should not be discouraged, but ultimately that person should still be allowed to make those poor choices so long as they are made aware of the dangers of their decision and have been presented with alternatives.

hot take but plus size/fat people shouldn't have to sexualize themselves for you to be accepting of them.
