Arthur is a natural flirt.

While it isn’t wild to imagine a “gentleman” having no trouble swooning hearts through practiced mannerisms, a suave demeanor, and picked vocabulary, I imagine Arthur amplifying the natural charm he acquired from all those centuries when it comes to someone he grows an affinity towards—unbeknownst to himself.

Now, Arthur is far from naive. He’s had his flings, political affairs, and occasional non-serious relationships that left him no stranger in using his charm, at times being a tool to aid in personal benefits, but when it comes to someone that actually managed to snake their way into his heart? *cough* Alfred. *cough* Flings are easy. Relationships done out of the blue to appease boredom are fine. Faced with the horrid truth where his heart lies for another? Mayday! Seize the wheel or abandon ship!

In that circumstance, Arthur would become painfully ignorant, likely claiming affection (if he’s willing to even admit that) is nothing more than friendship. However, harboring feelings as well as being the natural flirt he is, Arthur could commit some rather questionable acts from an outside perspective. Where’s the harm if he compliments Alfred or agrees that the bloke is handsome and perhaps sometimes pretty? It's a simple observation. He’s given plenty of compliments before to others too. So what if Arthur feels compelled to graze Alfred’s cheek with the back of his hand and finds merry in the pink colorization that follows as a result? He’s only fooling around and finds humor in teasing his friend like plenty of other close friends do.

It doesn’t help that Alfred only helps in feeding Arthur’s delusions by being so accepting of physical touch and questionable antics, likely being in his own form of delusion that everything happening between them is 100% normal.
