Muhammad Ali was born 80 years ago today on January 17, 1942. From the soundtrack of When We Were Kings—the documentary about the 1974 Ali/Foreman “Rumble in the Jungle”—here is Brian McKnight and Diana King’s title track from the film. _________________________ When We Were Kings Songwriters: Andy Marvel, Amy Powers and Arnie Roman
In every heart, there is a drum that beats Steady and strong, it does not know defeat I feel it pound, and know the sound Of true beliefs In every soul, there is a memory Of standing tall, the proudest we could be I cannot fall, for I recall We were born in majesty
And when the long fight, has been fought and won We'll stand in the sun
And we will raise out hands And we will touch the sky Together we will dance in robes of gold And we will leave the world remembering When we were kings, when we were kings
Now is the time, here is the mountain top When one man climbs, the rest are lifted up With every step we're closer yet To a higher destiny
And when we reach out to claim the thrown Every man will know
And we will raise out hands And we will touch the sky Together we will dance in robes of gold And we will leave the world remembering When we were kings, when we were kings
Do you remember When we were kings Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee
And when the long fight, has been fought and won We'll stand in the sun
And we will raise out hands And we will touch the sky Together we will dance in robes of gold And we will leave the world remembering When we were kings, when we were kings

The craters Hercules (left), Atlas (bottom), and Endymion (right, in shadow) // Arny
Hercules crater is named after the eponymous Roman hero, known for his strength and adventures.
Atlas crater is named after the Greek Titan, Atlas, condemned to hold up the heavens for eternity after Zeus and his siblings overthrew the Titans. Notably, Atlas plays a role in Hercules' 12 labors.
Endymion is named after a handsome shepherd, hunter, or king in Greek mythology. One account mentions that he was the first human to observe the motion of the Moon, subsequently falling in love with the goddess of the Moon, Selene.

Last days in Alcalá de Henares
Our time in Alcalá will soon be coming to an end so Mum and I took Saturday morning for a trip into Madrid. We visited the Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel and one of my favourite places, Puerta del Sol. We also managed to get a bit of shopping in and of course lots of food and at least one glass of bubbles. Not a bad morning!
We cabbed back to Alcalá and met Jose and clan for lunch. We had a lovely afternoon and more food. By the time we got back to the apartment I was fit to burst. Tonight we said goodbye to Maria, Inaky and Nico. They are busy tomorrow and we leave on Monday. It’s lovely they have been able to spend this time with Angela.
The rest of the night was pretty quiet, we were all tired and full.
Today was another two breakfast morning. Our main meals have been around 2pm, then we have a few nibbles around 8:30pm and so we’re ready for breakfast by 8-8:30am. Rosi arrived around 10am and we headed to Indalo, which has become our local. They have the nicest croissants there 😋
Mum and I then set off for more sightseeing. First stop was the Archbishops palace, the place where Catherine of Aragon was born and Isabel had her first meeting with Christopher Columbus. You can’t go inside but it was still pretty amazing knowing what had taken place inside those walls.
Next stop was Casa de Hippolytus which had been a college for youths in the Romans time here. It was beautifully maintained and well worth the visit. Then we went to some other Roman ruins that had been partly built over, I think immediately post the reign of the Moors and had been rediscovered during some renovations. We had been spoilt by the college and poor Mum was getting quite tired having bumped her way across cobbles and gravel paths (that were really stony). We can’t decide whether she’ll have arms like Arnie or two twigs by the time she goes home 🤣
We then all met up for lunch in Alcalá. It was a beautiful day and being a Sunday, everyone was out and about. On the stroll home we stopped for ice cream. A nice way to finish our lunch.
This afternoon Jose and I watched Amstel Gold while I also did a few adminy things. Jose’s cousin on his father’s side (Toni and family) were due to drop by this afternoon. They arrived at 7pm - very long days here.
Not surprisingly Mum bailed on yet another stroll, but the rest of us went out to have a little look at Alcalá and a drink. At 9pm I headed back to check on Mum and see if she wanted anything to eat. Meanwhile Jose and Angela went for coffee with the family. We finally had a dinner of sorts around 9:45pm. It’s been lovely but I won’t mind getting back into a semi normal routine when we return to L’Escala.

Blog Post #1 The Philippines
Tumblr media
The culture I chose is the one that hits close to home for me is the country of the Philippines. Hopefully doing this deep dive will give me a better perspective and understanding of the country my mom comes from. Being a person who is mixed race and grew up mostly in America this experience will help me better understand a part of me that is weirdly somewhat foreign to me still but also help me connect to the people of the Philippines better. This experience won’t just help me understand myself but also help me better understand other cultures along the way and make me a better communicator when it comes to interacting with different cultures.
The first thing to learn is that the Philippines is comprised of 7,600 islands with 11 main island bodies. With that many islands don’t be surprised that the Philippines also have 175 different languages Tagalog being the national language of the country.  One thing that I have first-hand experience with is that Filipinos are really huge when it comes to family, not just blood-related but everyone they live around. In Tagalog (the national language of the Philippines) there is the word baya which means town or community but there is a cultural practice by the name of bayanihan that everyone cooperates and helps one another. The Philippines is also really huge when it comes to their religion which is Roman Catholicism.  Before Catholicism reached the Phillippines, the people had folklore of creatures of the islands. The Philippines have a unique cuisine with rice being a main staple in the diet but also accompanied by pork or some type of seafood. One thing that some people want to experience when it comes to food is the fast food chain known as Jollibee which can be seen in the US also in some states. The Philippines are also a very active group of people with arnis which is a martial art style that comes from the country and boxing is another sport which one popular boxer by the name of Manny Pacquiao hails from.
3. I think the statement is trying to explain that through this experience I will have better insight when it comes to cultural relativism while trying to avoid ethnocentrism when it comes to learning about other cultures. Through this process, there are a couple of steps that I will try to take to make sure the sources that I use are unbiased when it comes to learning the culture. I will check who the author is when it comes to any articles I find and see the ties they have when it comes to them and the culture. Another step is looking at the source I am getting my information from and seeing if their ties or if is it a site that states facts about the country from an unbiased perspective. Lastly maybe also find someone who is discovering the country from first-hand experience with the Filipino culture. This can maybe be a forms of a blog where they write their experiences or view a vlog of the person in a day of video.

Easter – Easter, also called Pascha (Aramaic, Greek, Latin), Zatik (Armenian) or Resurrection Sunday is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. Most Christians refer to the week before Easter as Holy Week, which in Western Christianity contains the days of the Easter Triduum including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper, as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. In Eastern Christianity, the same days and events are commemorated with the names of days all starting with “Holy” or “Holy and Great;” and Easter itself might be called “Great and Holy Pascha”, “Easter Sunday,” “Pascha” or “Sunday of Pascha.” In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the 50th day, Pentecost Sunday. In Eastern Christianity, the Paschal season ends with Pentecost as well, but the leave-taking of the Great Feast of Pascha is on the 39th day, the day before the Feast of the Ascension.Easter and its related holidays are moveable feasts, not falling on a fixed date; its date is computed based on a lunisolar calendar (solar year plus Moon phase) similar to the Hebrew calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established only two rules, namely independence from the Hebrew calendar and worldwide uniformity. No details for the computation were specified; these were worked out in practice, a process that took centuries and generated a number of controversies. It has come to be the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or soonest after 21 March. Even if calculated on the basis of the more accurate Gregorian calendar, the date of that full moon sometimes differs from that of the astronomical first full moon after the March equinox.Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by its name (Hebrew: פֶּסַח pesach, Aramaic: פָּסחָא pascha are the basis of the term Pascha), by its origin (according to the synoptic Gospels, both the crucifixion and the resurrection took place during the Passover) and by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar. In most European languages the feast is called by the words for passover in those languages; and in the older English versions of the Bible the term Easter was the term used to translate passover.Easter customs vary across the Christian world, and include sunrise services, midnight vigils, exclamations and exchanges of Paschal greetings, clipping the church(England), decoration and the communal breaking of Easter eggs (a symbol of the empty tomb). The Easter lily, a symbol of the resurrection in Western Christianity, traditionally decorates the chancel area of churches on this day and for the rest of Eastertide. Additional customs that have become associated with Easter and are observed by both Christians and some non-Christians include Easter parades, communal dancing (Eastern Europe), the Easter Bunny and egg hunting. There are also traditional Easter foods that vary by region and culture.

Fruit – In botany, a fruit is the seed-bearing structure in flowering plants that is formed from the ovary after flowering.Fruits are the means by which flowering plants (also known as angiosperms) disseminate their seeds. Edible fruits in particular have long propagated using the movements of humans and animals in a symbiotic relationship that is the means for seed dispersal for the one group and nutrition for the other; in fact, humans and many animals have become dependent on fruits as a source of food. Consequently, fruits account for a substantial fraction of the world’s agricultural output, and some (such as the apple and the pomegranate) have acquired extensive cultural and symbolic meanings. In common language usage, “fruit” normally means the fleshy seed-associated structures (or produce) of plants that typically are sweet or sour and edible in the raw state, such as apples, bananas, grapes, lemons, oranges, and strawberries. In botanical usage, the term “fruit” also includes many structures that are not commonly called “fruits”, such as nuts, bean pods, corn kernels, tomatoes, and wheat grains.
Lemon – The lemon (Citrus limon) is a species of small evergreen tree in the flowering plant family Rutaceae, native to Asia, primarily Northeast India (Assam), Northern Myanmar or China. The tree’s ellipsoidal yellow fruit is used for culinary and non-culinary purposes throughout the world, primarily for its juice, which has both culinary and cleaning uses. The pulp and rind are also used in cooking and baking. The juice of the lemon is about 5% to 6% citric acid, with a pH of around 2.2, giving it a sour taste. The distinctive sour taste of lemon juice makes it a key ingredient in drinks and foods such as lemonade and lemon meringue pie.

Roasting – Roasting is a cooking method that uses dry heat where hot air covers the food, cooking it evenly on all sides with temperatures of at least 150 °C (300 °F) from an open flame, oven, or other heat source. Roasting can enhance the flavor through caramelization and Maillard browning on the surface of the food. Roasting uses indirect, diffused heat (as in an oven), and is suitable for slower cooking of meat in a larger, whole piece. Meats and most root and bulb vegetables can be roasted. Any piece of meat, especially red meat, that has been cooked in this fashion is called a roast. Meats and vegetables prepared in this way are described as “roasted”, e.g., roasted chicken or roasted squash.

My favorite Jane Austen conspiracy theories from Arnie Perlston, “literary sleuth” and blogger
1) “I began to look at the novel [Emma] through the lens of Frank as possible murderer of his aunt in order to end his ‘servitude’ to her”
2) “Mr. Knightley might be landlord to the Bateses, and proprietor of the brothel in the downstairs section”
3) “And most of all, we have the oracle of Emma, Miss bates, whose torrent of words sounds to Emma (and most readers) like trivial drivel to be ignored, or at most, enjoyed as comedy, but who is actually speaking in code about what is happening in the shadows, especially the most serious matters unknown to Emma”
4) “But if she is Charlotte of the shadow story--i.e. a lesbian in love with Elizabeth, who works behind the scenes to get back to living close by Elizabeth--then she is an even more complex, poignant, and interesting character.”
5) "It’s Sir Thomas’s long-ago sexual misadventures with his sister-in-law, which have resulted in his being visited two decades later by his illegitimate son (Henry Crawford), the proverbial chicken coming home to roost.”
5) “Think about Darcy and the Bingley sisters—when they arrive in Meryton, they could easily be bored Roman courtiers, passing time in a provincial backwater in Gaul. And then here comes an exotic barbarian temptress—Elizabeth Bennet—dark, sensual, simply dressed—and that’s why they treat her as if she were an uneducated slave girl from the provinces—or Sally Heming to Darcy’s Tom Jefferson!”
And finally, my personal favorite, an article entitled
“Eliza Bennet as Mary Magdalene, & Darcy as a crucified, resurrected Jesus”

Project Rewrite
Halo, salam kenal.
Selama SD hingga SMP, ia menulis banyak judul.

Rewrite: Beautiful Broken Stars (rw-03)
Di awal masa SMP, saya semakin banyak menulis drama aksi. Tapi perlahan saya bergeser haluan menulis serial killer.
Nah, sampai berjumpa lagi lain waktu.

When I was young I had a lot of peers that watched wrestling, not like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Greco-Roman or anything, I'm talking WWE (which was WWF at the time). I watched it once and just couldn't understand. "I don't get it? Why do you watch this, it's all fake!" and I think if maybe a single one of them had've said "Yeah, fake like a story is fake. Fake like how the man in Cirque do Soleil is not really a river. Fake like how the Lion King stage performer is not actually a lion. Fake like how Arnie is not actually a Terminator. It's not real but we're still being delivered a narrative we care about by massively talented, strong, acrobatic performers" I might've grown up a wrestling fan. But they only ever said "Shut up you're stupid it is so real" so here we are.

Movies of 2020 - My Pre-Summer Favourites (Part 1)
The Runners-Up:
20.  DISAPPEARANCE AT CLIFTON HILL – first up is this sneaky little psychological mystery thriller from writer-director Albert Shin (In Her Place), a semi-autobiographical piece inspired by his own childhood experiences at his family’s motel at Niagara Falls.  Sense8 star Tuppence Middleton delivers magnificently as a troubled young woman whose long-buried memories of witnessing a child-abduction in the area are stirred up following her mother’s death, while Shin weaves a palpable atmosphere of dread and doubt as the twisted narrative confounds our expectations.
19.  BEASTIE BOYS STORY – Spike Jonze, undeniably one of Hollywood’s most outside-the-box directors, is the perfect choice to tell the story of one of music’s most live-wire bands (he did, after all, helm their greatest music video, the incendiary Sabotage).  Unfortunately, MCA died in 2012, but Mike D and Ad-Rock are on-hand to remember their best friend during this endlessly fascinating live-recorded stage-show in which they recount their tale with the aid of Jonze’s quirkily edited montage of archive footage and crappy animations.
18.  THE RHYTHM SECTION – Blake Lively follows in the footsteps of Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman to reinvent herself as a kickass action heroine in this dark and edgy revenge thriller from rising star female director Reed Morano (Meadowland, TV’s The Handmaid’s Tale), but she does things a little differently, portraying an instantly relatable, refreshingly vulnerable amateur warrior who enlists the help of Jude Law’s disgraced MI6 spook to train her to kill after her whole family die in a terrorist attack.
17.  BOMBSHELL – the #MeToo movement gets its strongest cinematic ammunition to date with this challenging true-life drama chronicling the very public fall of media mogul Roger Ailes (portrayed with loathsome brilliance by John Lithgow) and the beleaguered women from Fox News who brought him down (represented here by the spectacular triumvirate of Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie).  It’s hard to watch at times, but that’s the point, and the choice of comedy director Jay Roach (best known for Austin Powers) is not so surprising after thought-provoking films like Trumbo.
16.  JOJO RABBIT – the year certainly got off to suitably eclectic start with this leftfield black comedy from Taika Waititi, following the misadventures of Hitler Youth cadet Jojo Betzler (an incredible debut from Roman Griffin Davis) and his imaginary friend Adolf (Waititi in his wackiest screen role to date) as they negotiate the final days of the Third Reich.  In less assured hands this film could have been an offensive mess, but ultimately proved to be one of the year’s most rewardingly entertaining and surprisingly powerful films.
15.  THE LAST FULL MEASURE – writer-director Todd Robinson delivers a powerful slice of true-life drama with this account of the 32-year struggle to secure a posthumous award of the Medal of Honour for the Vietnam War sacrifice of US Air Force pararescueman William Pitsenbarger.  Sebastian Stan stars as the Pentagon staffer embarking on a frustrating battle against decades of red tape, and there’s first-rate support from William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson and Peter Fonda as the traumatised veterans determined to see their fallen comrade finally get the recognition he deserves.
14.  BLOODSHOT – right now, the 2020 award for my biggest guilty pleasure goes to this gloriously OTT ultra-violent superhero flick, intended to be the opening entry in a big-screen shared-universe based on the Valiant Comics properties.  Vin Diesel is no-brainer casting as brutally murdered US marine Ray Garrison, brought back to life using nanotechnology which grants him superhuman strength and massive regenerative abilities that render him virtually indestructible.  This is big, loud, dumb cinema at its most fun, and I’m DEFINITELY up for more.
13.  THE LIGHTHOUSE – rightly winning awards from all quarters and garnering massive praise and recognition, writer-director Robert Eggers’ second feature EASILY eclipses the low key brilliance of his debut horror flick The Witch, thoroughly outdoing it in terms of sheer nerve-shredding anxiety and mind-scrambling WEIRDNESS.  Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson both deliver career-best performances as the 19th Century wickies suffering increasingly crippling cabin fever in their remote New England lighthouse.
12.  A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD – like many kids of the 1980s, I have strong formative memories of Fred Rogers (I may be Brit, but my dad was in the RAF, so we spent three very key years of my childhood living in St Louis, Missouri), so I was FASCINATED by the prospect of a biopic, especially if the great man was going to be played by one of my very favourite actors, Tom Hanks.  He thoroughly deserved his latest Oscar nomination for effortlessly bringing Mister Rogers to vivid life under the expert guidance of writer-director Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) in this spellbinding emotional extravaganza.
11.  DANIEL ISN’T REAL – undoubtedly destined to become a future cult classic, this quietly unnerving and insidiously disturbing psychological horror from indie writer-director Adam Egypt Mortimer (Some Kind of Hate) is certainly one of my top under-the-radar hits for the year so far.  Patrick (son of Arnie) Schwarzenegger oozes toxic masculinity as Daniel, the decidedly malevolent imaginary friend who’s suddenly resurfaced in the life of emotionally fragile New York student Luke (Blockers and Halloween’s Miles Robbins), knocking his life into a nightmarish spiral of Lovecraftian existential terror.

Ten Questions Tag
I got tagged in the same game thrice so while it’s a 10 Questions tag, I have thirty to do haha. Thanks for the tag @booksandsass , @nemothepenguin and @jmichines!
Do you remember your first writing project? What was it?
I do! The first thing I wrote was a 38K novella when I was six. It was about two girls in their young teens (I think one was 13 and one was 14, I can’t remember) who always ended up going to this ice cream shop. Their teacher was their best friend and I named one character after part of my name backwards. It’s cringy, but I’m still proud to say I completed such a feat at a young age.
What do you think is the hardest part of writing?
Finding where to explain things, such as appearance, location, lore etc. I know all of it, I just find it hard to say all I need to without it being an info dump haha
If you could give your younger self some writing advice, what would it be?
STOP GOING ON DAMN HIATUSES GIRL
What kind of research do you do for your WIP?
I do a little research on physics (such as how lifts work) and injuries but most of it is how things look steampunk style since there’s a slight hint at that in my novel.
How many hours a week do you write?
It depends on how much university work I have to do (I study online), whether I’m travelling and how much energy I have. Probably 10 hours tops a week but sometimes I’ll do nothing.
How long do you wait before you begin editing your first draft?
Six weeks, unless I know I’ve made a major booboo niggling in my head. Then I’ll resolve that and leave the rest.
What are your personal ethics when it comes to writing?
I’m not 100% sure I’ve gotten this question right but my stories are quite dark, although not explicitly so. My characters go through a tonne of crap in all honesty, although for the reader, it isn’t as bad.
Do you recycle old ideas or abandon them?
Recycle. I’ve already decided to use the first line of a Fan Fiction I wrote in 2014 later on in the Mastery series.
Which character is your favourite and why?
I tend to shift my favourite character based on what book I’m writing.
In book 1 of the series, it’s Roman. He’s a bit of a mystery to the others and they’re not sure how to react to him, but he’s just a cute little idealist in a world of pessimists.
In book 2, it’s Rylan. Some of his lines are my favourite I’ve written so far.
In book 3, it’s Jonathon. His personality is one of the most animated in the series and his back and current stories are some of the most complex I’ve made. One chapter I’ve written in his POV is one of my favourites too.
What do you love most about your favourite character from your WIP?
Again, I’ll answer with the same characters.
Roman: He’s an absolute sweetheart despite being surrounded by salty assholes and continues his precious ways even when they insult him for them
Rylan: He’s private and little is revealed about him. But he’s intelligent and could easily become a much worse villain if he wanted to. Dangerous boi.
Jonathon: Kind of like Roman, he’s an optimist despite everything that’s happened to him. And boy, does he have an angsty af backstory.
What would you consider success for your current WIP?
The fact I’m still working on it nearly 10 years later
If you were stuck on a deserted island, which one of your characters would you bring with you?
I guess it’d have to be Sebastian. He’s rude quite a lot of the time but really resourceful.
What would your characters’ day jobs be in real life? And if your WIP is set on Earth, which jobs would be most fitting for them and why?
Ooooh I love this question! I do have a lot of characters to answer with though and since this is the sort of thing I love imagining, I’m doing it with a huge bunch of ‘em haha
Alex is into the arts and only joined the Protectionary Guard as he didn’t see his art career going anywhere. So if he could make do with his art, he’d do that.
Sebastian would be in some sort of detective agency. One where he’d be able to kick ass. Then he’d get sacked for inappropriate behaviour and become a Martial Arts instructor or something along those lines.
Miriam would do something in the medical profession, but something less people-based. She’d be the sort to sit in a lab all day studying concoctions.
Aiden would have a normal office job during the day (knowing his family, it’d be he’s the heir to a company) and then volunteer as a cubs/scouts leader in the evenings.
Noah would work in IT, probably programming.
Cyrus builds motorbikes to fit in with his idealisms of escape, so he’d be into a travel-related career, such as travel writing/blogging, doing affiliate marketing and writing e-books to earn an income. Maybe an e-commerce store. While he isn’t the brightest, he’s a hard-worker.
Roman is training to be a lawyer and I can see him doing that in a Earth AU as well.
Phineas would be a librarian or a teacher for older students, probably a university lecturer or something like that, for a social science or language.
Dimitri would be a business owner, one of those really dickish ones.
Luka would probably be in Dimitri’s business, grumbling about his boss every ten seconds saying how he plans to make a rival business when he has enough money.
Rylan lowkey loves fashion and textiles and so I can see him working in a dinky little sewing shop and then selling stuff on Etsy or something along those lines as a side hustle.
Meline would be a professional athlete, probably in tennis since that’s her usual sport.
Jonathon would be the sort to make documentaries out in the wilderness and would take bets on whether he’ll survive doing stuff. He always does, and yet he still has people paying him. Witty prick.
Romulus would drive lorries. They’re similar to, but less interesting, his airships.
Who of your OC’s would break first under high pressure or under psychological manipulation/torture?
It’d be between Miriam and Aiden, depending on how personal the manipulation is. More distant? Aiden. More personal? Miriam.
Would you sacrifice your favourite character if it meant getting published? (As in would you remove them from the book as a condition set by the publisher?)
(I’m doing main instead of favourite okie dokie) Alex would be a nosiree no way whereas I think it’d be easier for me to part with Phoenix and Eirik. I’d still be reluctant though.
What is your go-to scene? (For example, I tend to open my books with the weather forecast to set the atmosphere before going to the characters and actions happening at that time)
A fight with a fairly unimportant antagonist. I always start my POV chapters with a certain style. Miriam’s is questions, Alex’s is dialogue, Phoenix’s is a long drone and Eirik’s is short sentences.
What is your least favourite genre to write in and why?
Contemporary as I get pretty bored. Where’s the death and fighting?
Which author would you like to trade styles with for a single book?
Me, but a good author. If you find out who that is, tell me please.
What was the weirdest thing that inspired a scene/character/story/name/place/etc.?
Miriam’s surname is after my dog as they both have amber eyes (Arnie -> Arnette)
Which POV is your favourite to write in and how do you choose which one to use for a certain WIP?
I prefer writing in first person! If it’s character arc-based then I will use first but if it’s more plot-based I will use third.
What style of writing do you prefer? Simple language, something more poetic, or something else?
I prefer simple but tend to have a philosophical main character so it ends up being a blend once you get to know the character
What’s your pet peeve when it comes to writing - the thing that would make you insta-toss the book?
The main character is a Mary Sue/Gary Stu
What’s your favourite cliché?
If you’re talking about technique, it’ll be rule of three. If you’re talking about plot cliché’s, it’s enemies to lovers/besties.
Which of your OCs would you want to hang out with in real life? Conversely, who would you not touch with a 10-foot pole?
I’d like to hang out with Roman! I’d say we’re similar enough in personality to get along.
Lawrence can LEAVE.
What’s your favourite type of character? (I have a weird thing for anti-heroes and geniuses)
Gonna have to agree with the brackets ;)
Which story do you wish you could have written (can be a novel, movie, game, etc.)
1984 or any good alternate futures. I’m a sucker for this genre so if you have recommendations please tell me.
Which of your OCs just absolutely eludes your comprehension? Like no matter what you do, you just can’t figure them out?
Kristoph.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your writing? Can be a character, a concept/world, even your style of writing.
Being able to come up with a complex plot and keeping track of it without having to write it all down.
Which of your stories do you think would make an awesome movie?
I think Experimentation would be more popular but I’d love to see Schadenfreude as a film!
Lastly (since we all do this), name an OC and your dream casting for them.
You’re wrong, buddy chum pal. I don’t do this.
I don’t watch films or series so know literally no actors bar the really famous ones.
-
To be honest, my creativeness isn’t working at all so for those who I tag, I’m going to let you pick out 10 of your favourites from the questions above. And the three people I’m going to tag are: @westywrites, @ahotpeaceofshit and @thel3tterm!

below the cut you can find a compiled list of 100+ problematic fcs and receipts to support the claims as well. we are by no means telling you not to play these fcs, (apart from the obvious racists, abusers, etc.), however, it is necessary to acknowledge that everyone on this list is problematic, thus, they should all be held accountable for their actions. it is imperative the community is aware of who they’re using and then they can make an informed choice of whether or not they would like to continue using said fc. without further ado, here’s the List™ you’ve all been anticipating / dreading from us.
