Aro's name origins

This one is fun

Aro isn't found in Ancient Greek directly transliterated as Αρο, however there are some very close words to it in pronounciation. It also gives us a clue to his family's life and social status as a human!

Αροω (aroo/aroaw). Verb meaning "plough", "sow", "beget". Indicates farming, however beget is also used to describe a man siring a child. To be a father. Perhaps this could mean Aro was his father's first child?

Αιρω (airow/airoo), αρω (araw/aroo). Irregular verb meaning "I lift, remove" in the present and future tenses. Other meanings include "render prominent", "seize", and "win". As this is Aro we're talking about, let's go with it denoting the latter meanings. It could have been a serious influence on his human life if he felt he had to live up to the meaning of his name, or was raised to have a winning mentality. His family could have been full of soldiers, or politicians.

Ήρα (Hera/ehra). Aorist tense form of the word above. On it's own is also means "favour", "kindness". Also denotes the goddess Hera (who probably wasn't worshiped in Aro's time).

so. i wrote a thing about being aromantic, particularly being aroace, kinda for aromantic awareness week, but about the challenge of how isolating it can be and feel, and some of my thoughts on that. it’s super rough tbh but yeah.
