Okay, I STRUGGLED with this. And don't even know if I like the outcome. We have like... Boggie from a distance happening here 🙈 I hope you don't hate it!

“So basically, your roommate is a cat,” Reggie’s date says, more of a statement than a question.

Reggie stops to think. He’d not really considered it before, but Bobby is very temperamental about touch. He likes to be left alone until he doesn’t. He’s relatively predictable but only if you can read his body language. Yeah, a cat kind of fits. But roommate? That… Might be stretching it. 

Reggie hums, “Yes to the cat, no to the roommate.”

He’s met with a curious look.

“Roommate might not be the most accurate way to describe our relationship,” he explains. “Bobby and I… Well, it’s complicated.”

“Complicated how? Are you not…” they trail off, obviously confused about what the hell Reggie is doing here if he’s got a “complicated” relationship with his “roommate.”

“We’re not… together. Well, we are. But,” Reggie takes a deep breath.

His date is growing frustrated. “Are you wasting my time? I’m not really up for being a homewrecker or somebody’s experiment.”

“No!” Reggie cries, putting his hands out to stop them from standing. “No, it’s not like that! I swear, it’s just…” He takes another deep breath. “It’s just. We aren’t labeled as anything. He’s my best friend. And we also make out and have sex sometimes.”

His date starts to gather their things in preparation to leave.

“No, wait! Let me explain. Please?”

They sigh, “Fine. You can have one minute.”

“Fuck. Shit. Okay. So Bobby’s not into dating and romance. He doesn’t want to hold me back from anything that I might want from other people. So we have an agreement that I can date freely, as if I were single. I try to be open about our relationship together from the start but it’s… Well, it’s complicated. Anyone who’d want to see me long term would have to be okay with what I have with Bobby. But I’m not like, cheating on him or anything.”

Reggie can tell that they’re processing and sits in silence while they do. He fiddles with the ends of his sleeves, his knee bouncing, while he waits. 

“Okay,” they finally say, “and like, you’re allowed to have physical relationships with the people you’re dating too? Kissing and sex?”

Reggie nods, “Yeah, honestly everything is pretty much normal. Except I have a Bobby.”

They cough out a dry laugh, “like a cat.”

Reggie grins, “Sure. A very large, very needy cat who I sometimes… y’know.”

“Well, it’s not perfect. But okay.”

Reggie’s brow furrows slightly. “Okay?” he asks, confused by the unexpectedly cool response.

They nod, “Yeah. Okay. I like you, Reggie. Let’s see where this goes.”

So here it is my Julie And The Phantoms hc about their sexualities and genders:

• Alex Mercer:

He uses He/Him pronouns and he's gay.

At first he thought he was bisexual because during his highschool years he had a “crush” for this girl. When she kissed him, he was like: “Nop, nothing happened. Guess I'm gay”.

He had a lot of problems at his house because of this. So, after his coming out, he started spending more time at Reggie's (for both own good).

• Reggie Peters:

He uses He/Him pronouns, but he once tried they/them but it didn't feel right. He's so bisexual but in a repressed phase/doesn't-know-it phase.

He actually always have thought he wasn't straight but when he once talked about this with his parents they shouted at him, telling him that he was normal and not a faggot.

When Alex sorta lived in his house two things happened: first, his parents stopped arguing and fighting with each other so that “happy family” could go on; second, he actually had a huge crush on him.

• Luke Patterson:

He uses He/They pronouns but actually he doesn't really care 'bout that, so if you only use “He„ or only “They„ he doesn't mind. He's been questioning his sexuality since Alex's coming out, but he just removed this idea. But recently he started seeing Nick and Reggie in a different way that scares him (Alex told him he's probably omnisexual or pansexual).

He had a LOVELY family, that didn't care about that, even if his dad struggled with using the right pronouns. But Luke didn't care, he loved his dad for trying.

• Julie Molina:

She is omnisexual with a preference for boys, and she uses She/Her pronouns.

Her family didn't actually care, neither Flynn or the boys. Only her tía actually had a little problem with that but the love she proves for her niece is way bigger than her prejudices (she's now a huge lgbtqa+ ally, she also brought Julie to buy a pride flag).

• Flynn:

She uses She/They pronouns and she's aromantic pansexual.

She found out that she was attracted to everyone when a trans girl came out and she fell in love with her at first sight. But she never really liked being in a relationship, even when she and that girl started dating. Sadly that girl moved to another State.

• Willie:

They uses They/Them pronouns, but they're actually afraid to say it so they let people use he/him with them (only Alex does know, and uses the right pronouns). Something they aren't afraid to say is their sexuality: gay (as hell, they say).

Well, a secretly secret is that he kinda had a little crush on Caleb, more like a celebrity crush. But then came Alex and they fell harder than they ever thought.

• Nick:

Nick is transgender ftm so he uses He/Him and he's AroAce.

He kinda like girls/boys but would never to be in any kind of love relationship. He actually discovered this during his “relationship” with Carrie. He never really liked her that way, he thought she was cool but nothing more, nothing less. And then Julie came. But still, it was more admiration than anything.

Also her band mates? Hot, but still. He thought he had a malfunction in his being, but Carrie told him 'bout Asexuality and Aromantic so he found his way to the world.

• Carry Wilson:

She is genderfluid (so They/She/He) and she's Lesbian because girls are too hot (as she says).

Their first real crush was Flynn but she had an affair with that trans girl and so she gave up. Then came Nick.

With Nick was never a “Real Relationship”, it was more a friendship with holding-hands everywhere. And when that new girl in school came, man, she fell head over heels.

• Bobby Shaw:

He uses He/They pronouns and he's Bisexual.

He had a big crush on Luke but he never tried with him because of his fear of rejection. But when Alex introduced Reggie to the band, Bobby flirted with him every single time they could.

• Trevor Wilson:

He uses He/Him pronouns and he's a straight homophobic old man.

After his band mates died, he changed everything and his manager told him that “Faggot don't go far in the music industry”.

And than he became the shit he is.
