𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: barbie movies as troupe plays part 1 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: sfw

𝐚𝐧: if you think i won’t do all 36 barbie movies, you’re wrong. regardless of whether people want this or not. i have barbie brainrot 24/7. i’m just separating it into parts so it’s not too long *this isn’t meant to be that serious y’all my reasons vary from legit to just jokes

𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥: i won’t go in-depth with any plot differences from movie to play, or how the characters would work out... for now *chuckles in future ppt*

𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟏: nutcracker, rapunzel, swan lake, princess and the pauper, fairytopia series, magic of pegasus, barbie diaries, island princess, three musketeers 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐: coming soon 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟑: coming soon

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: mixed troupe! spring x autumn. one of the seasonal events/scouts for A3! has a nutcracker theme, and to avoid spoilers that’s all i will say :3

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: since this is based on barbie’s take on the nutcracker, changing up the cast from what tsuzuru had in plan:

clara/sugarplum fairy: sakuya. i want to see him go through a costume & hair transformation sequence, not gonna lie.

nutcracker/prince eric: juza. obviously he has to be the ruler of the land of sweets.

mouse king: sakyo or chikage. i want one of them to wave around a sceptre and say quotes like “i’ll reduce the Nutcracker to a pile of splinters"

pimm: taichi... pimm is a spy :O who has to do dirty work :O but the real reason is i just want taichi to follow around sakyo again or maybe even chikage this time lol

major mint & captain candy: tsuzuru and citron respectively. mint is pretty serious and awkward, candy is a lot friendlier- i just think it’ll be a good way to insert some humor in the play

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: mixed troupe! summer x autumn.

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: rapunzel in this one actually is the “servant” of gothel. also, rapunzel has a magical paint brush and also there’s dragons. who are purple.

rapunzel: kazunari. obviously. actually, kazu has a lot of similarities with her: a good artist, patient, adventurous, quick thinking, hardly ever complains- also he’d look good with long hair i think ><

gothel: omi. there is an action fighto scene + also just the theme of omi playing villains lol... also THERE’S A SCENE WHERE GOTHEL PRETENDS TO BE RAPUNZEL BY WEARING A LONG WIG AND BOI- KAZU AND OMI’S BODY BUILDS ARE SO DIFFERENT BUT IT’D BE FUNNY IF THE PRINCE FALLS FOR THE TRAP ANYWAY

penelope: kumon. a PURPLE funny and clumsy dragon- fight me, the only answer is kumon especially once you see who’s next.

hugo: juza. a PURPLE dragon who’s penelope’s dad but he’s gonna be the older bro in this one (i wonder why...)

hobie: a passive and worrisome rabbit... Tenma.

prince stefan: he also has a couple fight scenes... ngl bc stefan has blue eyes, light brown hair + described by the wiki as “fierce”, he’s banri.

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: winter troupe. i will stand by this forever.

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: this is like one of the ones i’ve had figured out for a while already...

odette & odile: tsumugi. i’m just saying, tsumugi’s duality- he can do both the white and black swan because he has power. impact.

prince daniel: not tasuku bc spare him the prince roles he’s sick of it. guy. why guy? because he obviously has a good idea of how to act like a prince :3

rothbart: HOMARE! I WANT! THIS MAN! TO PLAY THE ANTOGONIST! GO OFF ABOUT DARK ARTS! TRANSFORM EVERYONE TO ANIMALS LIKE THE EXTRA BEING YOU ARE.

fairy queen: azuma. ugh just- imagining how ethereal he’d look.

erasmus: tasuku. he’s a troll that can act mean, but is genuinely kind and helpful... also, the VA of erasumus is also the VA for “unnamed burly villager” and i’m just saying-

kelly the cygnet: hisoka. there’s too many animal children, so hisoka is gonna be the baby swan. uwu. also, kelly has a quote, “I can't sleep.” and wOW THE IRONY

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: WE’RE GOING FOR THE COMEDIC ROUTE WHAT’S UP SUMMER. reason: i went “wait... no actor really looks super alike though.”

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: tafahfuoahoaf it’s my favourite barbie movie... OKAY SO THE RUNNING GAG OF THIS IS THAT THE PRINCESS & PAUPER DON’T LOOK ALIKE, BUT EVERYONE KEEPS GOING “Wow! you two look so identical!” no they don’t

anneliese: muku. first of all please look at the sprite i used in the header. anneliese = pink = muku. she’s the sweet princess archetype... but in this version she also goes on tangents about rocks and mineraLS AND HOW THE MINING INDUSTRY SUX AND THE ABSOLUTE AUDACITY OF-

erika: kumon. first of all, the sprite in the header again. erika = blue like ugh this is perfect. ALSO erika has a cat who BARKS and i just imagine kumon talking to her cat like: WOOF WOOF WOOF GRRR GRRR and the dog responding and everyone in the palace going wtf

king dominick: i had such a crush on him anyway he’s tenma. rich, young, talented king who disguises himself as a page so he can find love for realsies. im just saying. he won’t be tenma’s only role tho ><

julian: kazunari. the wiki went “he’s the only bestfriend a barbie MC ever married” really shook me like ugh friendship dynamic between muku and kazu roles??? also kazu’s genuinely smart so him as the tutor was just gucci in my eyes

preminger: misumi. FIRST OF ALL PREMINGER IS ICONIC? WHEN HE SANG HOW CAN I REFUSE I WAS LIKE UGH KING. i just wanna hear misumi play an antagonist that’s also funny and do things with his voice.

madame carp: yuki. a bossy and rich woman who owns a dress emporium. pretty much it.

nick & nack: YUKI AND TENMA. THEY WILL DOUBLE ROLE FOR THE SAKE OF BEING MISUMI’S DUMB UNDERLING DUO

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: spring troupe. i wanna see them have wings uwu.

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: just gonna combine the whole fairytopia series into one

elina: itaru. first of all, pink motif. also i just like the idea of itaru being this recurring protagonist.

laverna: recurring villain citron. for no reason other than i think it’s cool when he plays power hungry villains

enchantress: i just want sakuya to play a role that’s more of a “powerful character” but still really kind uwu. another recurring good guy.

azura & glee: tsuzuru. elina is azura’s apprentice, and glee is a friend who’s generally really happy... ngl, i wanna see tsuzuru play someone more energetic for funsies

nori: masumi. nori is kind of a stubborn and jealous person at first, him and elina won’t get along right away BUT DAMMIT THE ENEMIES? TO FRIENDS IS GUCCI!!!

merman prince nalu & linden: chikage... yeah i just gave chikage the guy roles ngl... but i wanna see chikage as a handsome merman AND handsome fairy so *shrugs*

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: cross troupe. spring x winter.

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: partially based on the ice-skating cards (i have yet to read the event story, unfortunately).

annika: tsuzuru. i thought it’d be fun to cast tsuzuru as a more sheltered character due to annika’s parents’ protectiveness. the contrast y’all.

shiver: sakuya. shiver is a polar bear cub sidekick who’s friendly and likes shiny things and that’s just... really cute... put bear ears on sakuya...

brietta: guy. brietta is annika’s older sister... who got transformed into a pegasus by the villain... i wonder how they’d change the pegasus thing lol

wenlock: tasuku. NOT GONNA LIE- i want tasuku to play the villain for all these wonderful one-liners: "Oh, smile! You didn't lose a daughter; you've gained a pet!", and "I thank my lucky stars I didn't marry you!"

prince aidan: masumi bc i want more roomie interaction on stage i mean their friendship keeps getting cuter and cuter.

cloud queen: azuma... that’s all. i just remembered her bc her hair has a braided crown, and i went “azuma braided hair brainrot”

𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞: mixed troupe! summer x autumn.

𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭: i was gonna make it full autumn, but then the age casting felt awkward since they’re in high school...

barbie: taichi. barbie here is shy but wants to stop blending in the background! i just went “damn that do be resonating”. also i wanna hear taichi sing more y’all and barbie is a singer/guitarist here

courtney: azami. i like the idea of azami playing a spunky character who’s more of a tomboy, but still does like fashion and accessorising and... lip gloss?

tia: misumi? tenma? idk the intelligent and passionate archetype is very broad... especially in a high school setting

kevin: kazunari. just the whole best friend thing + kevin being a goofy person who loves to make ppl laugh ugh

racquelle: yuki. i know racquelle’s a bully here and say not to bullying... but sharp tongue.

todd: honestly? todd was so boring in the moving. we need someone like banri to give him CHARACTER!... yes that’s my reasoning ugh

sagi the red panda & azul the peacock: honestly, just basing it off of colour matching but tenma is sagi and kumon is azul lol

viveca: purple musketeer, artistic, designs clothes... fights with ribbons... you know, for the sake of banri being a fAshIoNisTa... it has to be banri y’all "Don't mess with the animal print dress!"

aramina: green musketeer, fights with fans, romantic and loves ballet... pfft, for the sake of “wouldn’t it be funny-” it has to be azami. poor bby, having to swoon over romance on stage- he can’t relate

renee: chikage. purely because of that scene where she threw a feather duster (?) at a flying shard of glass and perfectly hit it. yeah.

helene: the old and strict instructor that teaches them how to be musketeers... sakyo.. duh.

philippe: the main antagonist... it has to be omi again. and since philippe has a goatee, we’re bringing back facial hair omi~

prince louis: itaru, lol. he’s like the one significant non-action oriented character in the film. he has just enough moments where itaru still looks princely, but mostly? he just wants humans to fly y’all.

Disney Villains Challenge

Am I part of the the sims 4 community of Tumblr? No, but nobody is stopping me. I was looking for some Disney villains challenge and didn’t find anything very specific because I like to suffer, so I made one myself, and why not share it with the world? This was roughly based off this two challenges that I found, here and here. I tried to keep them as true as possible so you might see some similarities.

Rules:

Keep the cheating to a minimum, just use it when absolutely needed or if is not going to affect the challenge;

Each generation must be represented accordingly;

You can live wherever you like;

You may create other characters during the challenge since not every townie is going to meet the criteria;

And keep the lifespan on normal.

Generation 1: Maleficent

“You poor, simple fools; thinking you could defeat me! ME! The mistress of all evil.”

True love doesn’t exist, and the King proved it so. For his betrayal, you cursed his daughter, sentencing the child for death. Though, not all hope is lost, at least not for you.

Traits: Unflirty, Evil, Ambitious.

Aspiration: Soulmate.

Career: Writer (Author)

Must not write romances (I know romances are not actually about romance, but the length of the book but bear with me);

Max the writing and logic skills;

Create/upload an “Aurora” as a toddler (place her on an existing family or make the King and Queen) and kill her once she turns a teen. Be enemies with her family, but not her;

Complete the soulmate aspiration and reach the top of the writer career;

Have at least two children.

Generation 2: Scar

“Long live the king.”

Your older brother was always the favorite, leaving you in his shadow. That will happen no more, you’ll take what’s yours, no matter the cost.

Traits: Jealous, Materialistic, Loner.

Aspiration: Friend of the World.

Career: Politician (Politician)

Max the charisma and mischief skills;

Complete the friend of the world aspiration and reach the top of the politician career;

Kill your older brother once the latter becomes an adult, leaving you with a niece which you can move from the household;

Must not have a good relationship with your older brother;

Must have at least one child.

Generation 3: The Evil Queen

“Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

Your husband never truly forgot his ex-wife, which didn’t bother you all that much since you only married for his fortune, but there was only one thing you cared more than money, beauty; and once your step-daughter started showing herself a threat to your post of the fairest in the land, you were forced to take action.

Traits: Materialistic, Perfectionist, Snob.

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy

Career: Critic (Art Critic)

Max the writing, painting, and organ skills;

Complete the fabulously wealthy aspiration and reach the top of the critic career;

Must marry an elder man with a young daughter and move into their house;

Must kill the daughter once she turns young adult;

Have a lot of mirrors around the house;

Must have at least one photo of herself in the house;

Must have at least one child.

Generation 4: Queen of Hearts

“Off with her head!”

You were never what people called right in the head, but if there was one thing you knew was right, was being in charge. No one would take your place, even if it meant taking their heads instead.

Traits: Insane, Hot-Headed, Self-Assured.

Aspiration: Chief of Mischief

Career: Scientist

Max the mischief and logic skills;

Complete the chief of mischief aspiration and reach the top of the scientist career;

Complete the sugar skulls collection;

Must have at least nine enemies and kill all of them;

Must marry someone with the goofball trait;

Must have at least one child.

Generation 5: Cruella De Vil

“I live for furs! I worship furs! After all, is there a woman in all this wretched world who doesn’t?”

While others may love dogs, you despised them. On the other hand, you couldn’t help but admire their fur, which in your head, would make for beautiful outfits.

Traits: Mean, Squimish, Art Lover.

Aspiration: City Native.

Career: Own a clothing store.

Max the singing, mixology, and photography skills;

Complete the city native aspiration;

Have the clothing store reach five stars;

Must never have a dog or interact with them;

Must have at least one child.

Generation 6: Mother Gothel

“Mother knows best.”

They stole from you, so you took something in return. That something just happened to be their daughter.

Traits: Genius, Self-Assured, Loves Outdoors.

Aspiration: Super Parent.

Career: Gardening.

Max the gardening and herbalism skills;

Complete the successful lineage aspiration and reach the top of the gardening career.

Only begin working on the aspiration once “Rapunzel” is gone;

Must have and tend to a garden;

Must rob and then keep “Rapunzel” locked in the house (except for school) until she’s a teenager and that’s when she’ll run away;

Must be a strict mother;

Have at least one child.

Generation 7: Lady Tremaine

“Above all: self-control.”

Everything you do is for the good of your daughters, and only them. There’s no one who could be better than them, you’d make sure of it.

Traits: Genius, Ambitious, Family Oriented.

Aspiration: Successful Lineage.

Career: Business.

Max the parenting, cooking, and gourmet cooking skills;

Complete the super parent aspiration and reach the top of the business career;

Must have two daughters before getting married to an elder who already has a daughter;

Must make the step-daughter deprived of everything;

Once she turns into a teenager she’ll move out;

Must have at least two children.

Generation 8: Captain Hook

“There isn’t a boy who won’t enjoy a-working for Captain Hook! The world’s most famous crook!”

If there is one thing you truly love, is money. How you acquire it, though, may not be by the usual method.

Traits: Hates Children, Kleptomaniac, Music Lover.

Aspiration: Mansion Baron.

Career: Criminal.

Max the mischief and two more music skills;

Complete the mansion baron aspiration and reach the top of the criminal career;

Must have a ‘Redbeard’s Revenge Pirate Ship Jungle Gym’ during the entire generation;

Must have at least one child.

Generation 9: Ursula

“I admit that in the past I’ve been a nasty… they weren’t kidding when they called me, well, a witch.”

You always loved the ocean, but not more than you loved destroying marriages.

Traits: Romantic, Foodie, Snob.

Aspiration: Angling Ace.

Career: Own a retail store.

Max the fishing and charisma skills;

Complete the angling ace aspiration;

Have the retail store reach five stars (killing ungrateful clients is optional);

Must separate at least three couples;

Must complete the fish collection;

Must have at least one child.

Generation 10: Gaston

“Here in town, there’s only she who is beautiful as me.”

You were the best at everything, no doubt in that, it is only fair then, that your partner is as great as you. They’ll see you’re the best for them, eventually.

Traits: Active, Snob, Outgoing.

Aspiration: Bodybuilder.

Career: Detective.

Max the fitness, pet training, and one more skill of your choosing;

Complete the bodybuilder aspiration and react the top of the detective career;

Must have a romantic interest that does not work until you became an adult;

Must marry someone with the ambitious trait.

Where Tangled Before Ever After Completely Screwed Up

Let me first say that the crew that worked on this show should be very proud. The visuals are especially wonderful (love that Little Golden Book vibe of the art style especially) and it’s clear that a lot of work went into this. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprising their roles is a joy that really brings it all together. The music is cute.

But. Wow. Writing team, I have some words.

I didn’t think I could get upset about anything to do with a TV series based on Tangled made for funsies that if one wanted, could be completely ignored, haha. I wasn’t prepared to view this show as anything but a lark.

Buuut I apparently care about what happens to fictional characters too much.

They ruined the king. Rapunzel’s father. This man:

This precious perfect sweetheart.

THIS RIGHT HERE:

IS AN IMPOSTER.

I don’t care if you only see King Frederick for a total of two minutes in the original movie and that he doesn’t say a word, because an animator can tell you A LOT about a character with so little to work with, and that is what they did with him in Tangled.

It bugs the ever-living hell out of me that they made him into a cliche, over-used archetype: the overbearing, overprotective father who is so set in his ways that he oppresses his daughter, never smiles, is always stern, doesn’t stand up for her, and glares at her boyfriend because grr boys (and okay he’s a wanted thief, but still). We’ve done this before, Disney. We’ve done this a lot.

It pisses me off because if you wanted to create an interesting conflict for Rapunzel and her parents, THERE WAS ALREADY ONE THERE -

THEY HAVEN’T SEEN EACH OTHER IN EIGHTEEN YEARS

haaaa I’m sorry it makes me want to tear my hair out because it’s so obvious

They keep the queen as a sweetiepie but make the father a jerk when the focus should have been on how strange and awkward it would be to transition from having an abusive parental figure to two parents who love you and want to make you happy but they hardly know you at all and they don’t know what’s best for you. There would be the heartbreak of not getting to see your daughter grow up to get over now that she’s back, the uncertainty Rapunzel would feel of parents that say nice things and then MEAN IT unlike Mother Gothel.

The king and queen could have been overprotective and unconsciously triggering Rapunzel’s fear of being confined and locked up again WITHOUT THE DAD BEING AN ABSOLUTE JERK PLAYING EVERY CLICHE IN THE BOOK

ugh I am sorry, I should not be taking it so hard. I’m just really frustrated from a writing standpoint and from the standpoint of someone who watched the original movie. I’m annoyed at how easily this could have been avoided and I’m annoyed because they took a character that was so interesting to people despite his limited screen time and made him into an unlikeable something that he never had to be. P.S. why doesn’t the mom have a beef, why is she so pure if we’re gonna go around ruining the dad

I won’t go into other nitpicks like some things about Eugene and Rapunzel that rubbed me the wrong way, because that stuff I can live with. well okay i will also say - no, no that’s enough for today

Tangled Unbraided

For ages I've wanted to find a way to use the old fractured fairytale idea of "Rapunzel Unbraided" Disney was going to do in the early 2000s, and decided to just go ahead and show what I've got. So here's some sketches of how the main characters would appear in this hypothetical Tangled spin off movie:

The original synopsis for Unbraided ran as thus:

“An evil witch named Lucretia despised fairy tale happy endings and plotted to change all that. Meanwhile in modern day San Francisco, Claire and Vince are two vastly opposite teenagers who cannot stand one another. Claire is a short haired, fashion obsessed teen who was concerned with her looks. Vince is a stocky and crude pizza delivery boy on hard times. The two of them get on each other's nerves which gets the attention of Lucretia in the fairy tale realm. Lucretia takes Rapunzel and her prince Beau and transforms them into a squirrel and dog, respectively, while Claire and Vince find themselves filling their roles. Claire and Vince eventually team up with Rapunzel and Beau to defeat Lucretia and return to their respective places in time. “

And I'd want to follow the basic plot of that, though with changes with what we have from the actual Tangled movie. But basically two teens from 2007 San Francisco (why not make it a 'period' piece with all this Y2K nostalgia going on that makes no sense to me, a Y2K kid x) get reverse Enchanted and find themselves in the Everrealm. Searching for a way home, mentored by a talking squirrel and dog that claim to be famous fairytale characters also trying to regain their human forms.

The reason the witch tries to recreate the Rapunzel story with two people who are unlikely to give it a happy ending is that she's trying to make a spell to warp reality and bring about another golden flower (so that we can have the one that eventually shows up in Sofia the First) and so gain immortality for herself.

My ideas for the growth journeys each character goes on in this hypothetical movie is of course that Claire and Vince both learn to be more comfortable with themselves/find their real potential, as well as learn that its ok to trust others emotionally, both in a platonic sense with Eugene and Rapunzel mentoring them, and romantically with eachother as they get closer.

Rapunzel and Eugene would have this be an opportunity for them both to work through the concerns they both have about being parents. Sure they both have better parental relationships now, but both grew up with either abusive or absent parents (and then hyper protective ones in Rapunzel's case with Frederick) and though they both want kids they're afraid they might still mess it up. So, getting to help these two teens find themselves and their way home gives them a sense of the type of parents they'll be, and that they'll be ok in the end.

(They also all eventually find out Claire is their many times descendent and thats why she looks like Rapunzel so much, and why the spell called her into Rapunzel's place)

For the Witch I decided to change her name from Lucretia as I already had a character with that name for the Bluebeard story. I still wanted her to have some actual connection to the og Rapunzel fairytale, and a way to know about the Sundrop flower, and while I know we already had Cass as Gothel's kid, per my DisneyVerse she did have more then one over those many many years 😅😬

We already had a benevolent version of another Gothel daughter with my rewrite of Ginny, so I decided this time we'd get to focus on a malevolent one, so our villain for this story is Azalea.

(I based her looks on one of the tree nymphs from Gothel's backstory in OUAT, old Gothel/witch concept art and her name was inspired by Alice from OUAT being Gothel's daughter, just with a sharper sounding plant name x)
