hii, so, i am currently trying to make a yume nikki fangame and i saw a really old (6 years old) post of yours and you talked about "releasing an English version of Yume Nikki’s coding eventually". did that ever happen? and if you're comfortable sharing, do you have the file / link for that? By the way it was really cool browsing ur blog (ive never used tumblr before), also saw your most recent post, even though idk you personally, hope you're doing well! (thank u for your tutorials)

That I did! I didn't really advertise it much, but here ya go! (for some reason I thought I edited the post with the link, I should do that..)

I never fully finished it so stuff like filenames were never translated, but hopefully it's a lot more readable now to help understand how the programming works

Are there any unpopular sam and max opinions?  uhhh you don’t need to play season 1 if you start with season 2 because you’re not missing much plot, and it’s ok if you skip into season 3 right away since they have handy little character guides that pop up as soon as you see new characters, so you can start anywhere if you want to get into Sam and Max!

Sam and Max isn’t perfect and won’t be some people’s cup of tea but it’s a lot of fun and that’s why I always recommend it :D

Returning Nightmares is an exploration adventure-horror game being developed in RPG Maker 2003, inspired by Yume Nikki and it's multiple fan-made homages (but with dialogue & easier to navigate maps).  You play as Akira, a young man locked up in his own bedroom, exploring his dreams to remember the events that lead him to where he is now.  But some things are better left alone…

Thank you, I be hanging in there.. A rough time mentally, but life just keeps going day by day

For a general life update for everyone: Kinda want to use this site more, but just not sure what I'd use it for.. Rambling time~

(tl;dr: anxiety's a butt, going traveling and cosplaying and will finally be seeing a therapist in a few monthss)

I've been in a huge art rut lately and just struggle with coming up with ideas what to draw, and have a lot of insecurities about the content of my past few pictures (which I think are against guidelines here so I probably won't post them on the RN tumblr after all.. I did update the website with all current images at least, but I still feel sick thinking about what I've made and regret it..)

Was in a huge wave of depression the past few weeks, but slowly climbing back out of it.. Still jobless and living off of being a vtuber on Twitch and art commissions, which is a struggle, but I'm just managing to scrape by- definitely been feeling the burnout, though..

Also going traveling across the country next week- meeting up with some online friends and going with them to a con, got a cosplay made and everything to go as my husbando Mizuno Yuu (I'd prefer a better cardigan, though.. the one I got was more yellow than I'd hoped and the only decent alternative I've found on Uniqlo won't be in stock in time, I think)

Still anxious about it, though.. will be gone for ten days, my social anxiety is very bad, and I'll be in an unfamiliar place hanging with people for the first time for ten days.. I'm not really interested in the con at all and I'm pretty scared about going, but will try to just keep my brain turned off and try to have a good time.

But yeah, otherwise just existing and floating around day by day- haven't been able to do much of anything and it really gets to me.. My anxiety has been so severe that it interferes with everything and I can't even think of doing anything because of it- anything can give me a bad panic attack these days, and I'm too afraid to take medication to treat it just yet, though I think it's needed at this point.

However, I did get a new primary doctor earlier this month, and they were able to find me a therapist for depression/anxiety and a nutritionist to see for my eating disorder- I'll be interviewed for that once I get back from my trip, so hopefully those go well..

Hey, i know this seems out of nowhere, but would you happen to know how Yume 2kki made its computer menu?

Sadly I have not played 2kki, so I have no idea. If I had to guess on how to do a basic computer interface at least, it'd probably be something like one of two things:

-Use a bunch of picture events, having the cursor be the player (using pixel-based movement events, you can look up tutorials online for them)

Or

-Use a whole new map, have the cursor be the player and each clickable icon its own event tile that you can interact with the Action Key while standing on top of it. Slower, but probably easier.

sorry anon, it was written in a really bad mindset, and I regret it. Hateful is too strong a word, I agree, and I want to say I take it back.

It’s no contest our current guy’s is more hateful than Sanders, absolutely. Associating our current guy’s hate with another is far too much and I was wrong. Trust me, I’m really not a fan of how hateful the he is, and I wish he would go away. Anyone would be a saint in comparison, and putting them on the same level is way out of line and just spoken out of hurt out of losing the guy I like, I think (mixed in with some negative experiences from observing how distasteful some of his supporters act, but they’re not him and they don’t speak for him and I shouldn’t let a bad supporter or ten influence the way I feel about a candidate)

Though, to play my usual devil’s advocate, I still I don’t think that entirely excuses Sanders’ divisive rhetoric either- anger against the current guy, anger against the rich, he’s ‘fighting for us’, but I don’t want someone fighting. I want someone who can bring everyone together, including people who like the current guy, including billionaires, you know? It’s possible- Yang proved to me it’s possible to do so.

I’m just someone who’s very tired of the fighting, I just want someone who can take the high ground and shake the current guy’s hand when he leaves- someone who can help the people desperate enough to vote for the other guy in the first place. I feel the kind of leadership reflects the people- and I really feel that this country is going to become angrier and more aggressive no matter which side wins, and I’m scared. No one left running eases my fear. I also admit, I was very biased against Sanders last night given the situation, but that was wrong of me, and I deeply regret it.

Again, saying Sanders is hateful in the same breath as the current guy? Comparing the two as the same? You’re right, that’s absolutely uncalled for, and I apologize. He’s a good guy fighting for what he believes in, and he’s definitely trying to help people, but I don’t think you need to demonize anyone to do that- Yang proved that to me with his campaign. I’m just very tired, and I’ll do my best not to talk politics as much, because I’m definitely not a qualified speaker of the subject- I just speak on emotion

I just want people to get along and to feel free to support whoever they like, and I hope I don’t hurt anyone in the process

Tumblr’s the main place for my art at the moment~ I have a pixiv, which hasn’t been updated in a while and I should fix that, and an old basically dead dA if you can find it (was never able to change the username and didn’t feel like making a second account since there’s not much there I’m interested in, full of bad old art though)

Twitter I also have and post art updates, but twitter’s mostly just tumblr text post-lite and I’m not a fan of it in general in terms of anything other than getting updates from things, too awkward-to-use (thank god for tweetdeck but even then), too much harder-to-avoid social dramas and anger and being unable to express thoughts in detail, and most importantly the image quality is garbage
