On why protocol is all about change:
So far, the tags for the voiced cases have been transformation, reanimation, and infection.
Now, we know the OIAR's logo has a ton of alchemy symbols, and alchemy is all about change. How can one substance be turned into another? (Lead into gold). How can change be avoided or delayed? (philosopher's stone/elixir of life).
I think all of our "real" cases will be categorized according to the kind of change they produce.
"But wait!" you might say. "We know there are categories like dolls, zombies, and vampires. How do they fit?"
That's true, but we also specifically had those types of categories rejected. Gwen specifically said don't use zombies, use reanimation. Maybe there's a bigger reason than just trying to pick a subcategory of zombie.
It's early. We only have three episodes to go on. But it will be interesting to see if the trend continues, and if it does, it's also an intriguing insight into the possible motivations behind the system.

You know, something that might be interesting in secret life, especially as things go on, is the players getting touch starved.
Normally in life games people will punch each other or playfully fight or 'high-five' or crit-scare someone or just-- touch them, you know?
There's none of that in secret life, not when every half-heart is precious. Not when every touch has a chance of hurting. Everyone is hyperaware of doing damage to someone else. Even though there's the once a session free gift heart, it wouldn't be enough to recover anything more than two punches.
Not to mention the dripstone literally EVERYWHERE underground. Is someone gonna harvest a bunch and put it around their base as a protective wall? After all, as we've seen in decked out 2, dripstone is so so so deadly for even just trying to path over and around.
Take the avians for instance. They could let someone help him preen their feathers and give comfort, but all it would take is one wrong move and whoops! no flight. Or imagine cuddling with someone or sleeping in the same bed, and BAM-- you've lost a heart to being accidentally punched or kicked during the night.
Most everyone, if they have a house, all sleep in separate houses, unlike a lot of past series. There's a distance there. A sort of-- keep two blocks away please.
As time wears on and the trust between everyone crumbles, it'll be interesting to see how thinks change.

i get all giddy and kicking my feet with glee when I think about how fucking good the 'AI' in AI: The Somnium Files is. pun that works on several layers across two languages ohhhh that's the good shit
Aiba is an AI eyeball aibou (相棒, lit. 'partner') who loves you (ai; 愛) (she does. regardless of what she says). Beginning of the title can read as 'A. I.' or 'love' or 'eye' or 'I' (i.e. self-identity) and all of them are equally central elements of the story

Losing it over the fact that the latest episode started with Laszlo (seemingly) completely dejected and despondent, everyone in the house individually convinced that it’s all their fault, and then halfway through dropped Nadja’s detached “maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if we ended up dying?” like a fucking brick but then devoted the final part of the episode to showing that despite the monotony and endlessness inherent to their lives, these weirdos all have so much care and love and devotion for one another even when it’s in spite of themselves, that they all derive so much meaning from their relationships with each other, choosing to end on the note of the Baron’s “I suppose with the right company, it can be beautiful, this eternal existence.” Screaming crying throwing up et cetera

Dragalia's Knights of Glory art
Now, it's been gone over how Dragalia Lost actually used quite a bit of inspiration from one of Cygames' previous works, Knights of Glory, for anything from character designs to dragons.
Of course, this showed up quite literally with characters like Lea when they quite literally just had the "Knights of Glory" showcase, but it also showed up in characters ranging from Jakob to Mikoto to Jurota (also showcasing the alighting butterfly blade, also in Dragalia):
However funny it is to see who we came to know as different characters in a different media, though, the dragons are 10x funnier to look at.
You see, it seemed that Knights of Glory had a certain 'evolution system' to dragons, where they'd develop and grow more fancy, if they weren't inexplicably transforming into an attractive humanoid woman because of course-
And oh boy, we can kinda see alternative evolutionary paths for the Greatwyrms.
There's Midgardsormr, who seems to most closely resemble the fully evolved form from the start...(he also gained an element, as this dragon line apparently has no element!)
Mercury, who is in her middle phase:
Imagine a hydra Mercury!
...Brunhilda? Not very sure on this one. She might just be a new design, but here's my best guess for what dragon they might have been inspired from:
Of course, in her 'final form' if this was a dragon they used as inspiration.
Jupiter, whom I'd almost put in his middle stage for closeness of design:
Last but not least, poor Zodiark, who really got hammered with the skeletal dragon design and is also in his middle stage and is also drooling 24/7:
Where is his stomach? Where are his organs? Why is he bipedal?? He lost some bulk in his transition to Dragalia, too. Honestly, I like Dragalia Zodiark more than his inspiration here.
That's enough of full evolutionary trees for now, though.
Some other funny ones to me include:
-Silke turning into a skeletal horse on her final evolution:
-Baby Leviathan going :-D all the time:
-Baby Poseidon (honestly a lot of the babies are funny since we only knew their final forms, typically);
-Possibly Cat Sìth inspiration???
-Baby Zephyr:
-Baby Nidhogg, sitting all prim and proper and ready to watch Euden die still:
-Teenage...Satan? Having a evil little :) face going on there...
Speaking of, quite a few of the dragons were actually repurposed into bosses, as with Satan above, like everyone's favorite:
(We must not let Phraeganoth be revived! ...Until Bondforged Zethia's story, at least).
Might be a stretch here, but maaaaaybe a bit of Kai Yan in here?
The Hypnos/Thanatos/Mega Monarch Emile line's general design:
This is getting long enough as it is, but if you want to see a mix of some old with a lot of new art that they might have used as inspiration for more dragons/adventurers, here's the link I used to the collections of KoG artwork that people were able to preserve:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DragaliaLost/comments/9rtlnz/knights_of_glory_albums/
Hopefully you find it just as interesting and funny as I did perusing the old art!

one thing no adaptation of Peter Pan ever does is give Wendy Darling her pet wolf. in the novelization at least, the kids have Neverland full of stuff they imagined into being while playing at their home on earth, and the one thing Wendy has is a pet wolf. It's a fully wild wolf but he's friendly and loyal only to her. and nobody pays attention to her so they didn't notice, but she did notice, and she was happy that the wolf found her to say hi and play. Wendy Darling was a wolf girl but no adaptation ever has captured this, and I think we should give it some focus next time
