Here is the one I did for Jayme, today I will do his roommate, Takashti Clayson. Again I will basing the answers from around the start of And They Were Roommates.

After my interview with Jayme I decided to interview his roommate. He was far more difficult to get in touch with but after several attempts of talking with him and a plea from Jayme I found myself sitting in the same empty classroom, this time facing the infamous Whovian artist who had showed up before our scheduled time.

His light honey eyes seem to be in a perpetual state of annoyance, which does little to detract from a handsome face partially framed by a few strands of stray medium brown hair that has escaped his ponytail.

"Well, let's just get this over with." He tells me, gesturing to my recorder and notebook.

Are you named after anyone? 

Takashti looks taken back for a moment before recovering. "Uh, I don't know. My aunt never told me anything about how I got my name."

When was the last time you cried? 

He laughs. "Why would anyone want to know that about someone?"

Do you have kids? 

"Recently I feel I've had one thrust on me by the school system but I'm managing." He responds, jokingly. At least I think it's a joke.

Do you use sarcasm? 

"Only about a hundred times a day."

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

"Huh," Takashti thinks for a few moments. "Honestly, I don't really give it much thought beyond if they annoy me or not."

What’s your eye color?

"Brown," He says, gesturing as if it was the dumbest question ever asked.

Scary movies or happy endings?

"I'm fine with scary movies. I don't really care how it ends as long as the story is good." He suddenly sits forward a little as if to share a secret. "Actually, I have a soft spot for scary media, especially if it has weeping angels. Plus I've realized that they keep tha- uh, Jayme away so I can get some peace and quiet for once."

Any special talents?

"Mostly drawing, painting, and sarcasm. I have yet to master the art of getting out of social obligations."

Where were you born?

Again Takashti is taken back. "Uh, I'm not sure. Somewhere in California, I think." He mutters under his breath, "I could have been born on Mars and no one would bother to tell me."

What are your hobbies?

"Art- namely drawing and painting, reading, watching sci-fi shows, you know." He points to his bag at his feet that has a TARDIS and little robot dog painted on the flap. The rest of it has various muted- and dare I say ugly- colored stripes, making it seem to have come out of the 70s. "I've made and sold several custom bags based on the different Doctors. I made this one based on the Fourth."

Have you any pets?

He chuckles before answering, "Jayme is a little like a dog that followed me home and won't leave."

What sports do you play/have played?

"Archery is fun and I was third in the school fencing team." He shrugs. "I could have been higher but I really only took it to keep Anna from annoying me with her insistence that I join some clubs and have an actual social life." "Anna? Is she your aunt?" I ask him. "Uh, no... she sort of adopted me." He avoids looking in my direction as he answers as if expecting each word to trigger an anvil to fall on him so I decide to move on.

How tall are you?

"Six foot, two inches, that's 185cm for every non-American." He responds, his relief to be on a different topic evident as his body relaxes a little.

Favorite subject in school?

"This probably won't be a surprise but science, especially physics. I also enjoy English, world history, and- of course- all the art classes. Math isn't too bad, either, now that I'm thinking about it." He pauses for a second, his ears reddening as he sheepishly smile. "I guess I'm just a school junkie."

Dream job?

Takashti squints as he thinks. "I'm not entirely sure." He shrugs. "I like learning and painting so anything that lets me do both."

Since I prematurely started And They Were Roommates I've decided to do my "little prince." I will base the answers around the beginning of the novel/series.

The rising influencer, Jayme Matthews, enters the empty classroom enthusiastically, apologizing for his lateness with an iced latte. His iron curled, shoulder length raven hair bounces as he plops into the chair across from me. His feminine beauty and friendly air add to the allure of this eccentric freshman who has quickly become the talk of the art college. I have taken it upon myself to interview him as part of my project for the school paper.

Jayme starts to fidget with a purple and gold bracelet as I set up my recorder.

Are you named after anyone? 

"Nope!" He responds, brightly, kicking his feet out. "My mom thought Jayme with a y was a cute name so she took the chance to name me it. And she was right, it is the best name!"

When was the last time you cried? 

"Oh, uhm..." He pauses to think and switches to playing with the hem of his royal purple Gucci top. "I forgot!" He finally says after a moment with a chuckle. "But I do cry a lot so it probably wasn't that long ago."

Do you have kids? 

Jayme giggles, a hand over his mouth. "I really want a daughter some day. I want to name her Violet or Lily, after my favorite flowers."

Do you use sarcasm? 

"When I want to, yes." He nods, taking the question seriously. "But Takashti- he's my roommate and best friend- uses it far more than I do."

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Jayme thinks for a moment, his eyes going to the ceiling. "Oh!" He sits up straight. "Their outfit! I always notice someone's outfit! And how I could make it better."

Self-confidence seems to be something Jayme is not short on.

What’s your eye color?

"It's sort of a blue-ish violet isn't it?" Jayme asks, tilting his head and staring at me with wide eyes. The violet in them pop with all the purples in his outfit and make-up. "It's the prettiest color in the entire world." I can't help but agree, they are some of the most striking eyes I've ever seen. "It was my mom's favorite color." He adds with a sad smile.

Scary movies or happy endings?

Jayme blanches at the question. "Anything but scary or sad movies!" he says fervently. "I can't handle scary movies."

Any special talents?

Jayme laughs as if the question is a no-brainer. "Everything about me is a special talent." He seems rather proud of his answer.

Where were you born?

"Oh, you know, California." He looks down as he mutters, "I've never left California."

What are your hobbies?

Jayme starts counting on his fingers as he says them one by one, "Designing clothes, putting outfits together, cosplay, playing games with Nim and Cris, watching anime, reading manga, and uh... Oh! Social media! I like posting things and taking pictures."

Have you any pets?

"I just have my plush squirrel, Ella. Do you want to see a picture of her?" Before I can respond Jayme pulls out his phone, his case pale blue with a glittery violet crown. I can't help but note that his cute and unsurprisingly purple squirrel has more followers on Instagram than I do. In each picture I see she's dressed in a little jacket or dress, bows and necklaces completing each look. It's an impressive wardrobe for a plushie living inside a dorm.

What sports do you play/have played?

"I don't do well with sports... plus there's hardly any sports with cute outfits! I think there's just tennis and cheer-leading. I was banned from the tennis court in high school."

"Banned from the tennis court in high school?" I ask, curious about the story.

"Oh, yes. I kept hitting the teacher with the ball, no matter where he went. And then I managed to hit the ball really hard through a hole in the fence and broke one of the school's windows."

How tall are you?

"I'm far too tall." Jayme replies with a sigh. "I wish I was short and cute, like my best friend, Nim."

Favorite subject in school?

"Art is always the best! Even if it the first class cut when school funding is low..." He rolls his eyes. "Of course football doesn't have that problem. It doesn't matter if the creative students get to have fun as long as the jocks can get all sweaty and brain-dead."

Dream job?

"I want to be a world famous designer and model!" Jayme bounces back from his earlier rant. "Nim and I will design clothes together and make this world a prettier, more fashionable place! And I'll be on magazines and-and talk shows. And we'll be-" he suddenly stops, a blush spreading across his face and ears. "Well, Nim and I will be the envy of everyone, won't we." He finishes, his grin somehow managing to be shy and confident.

The most dramatic person you will ever meet. He loves fashion and being with people. If he thinks it’s cute or beautiful he will wear it or buy it without a second thought. He’s loud and a little on the vain side but his friendly personality endears him even to the most introverted. His dream is to become a model and fashion designer. Despite his father's abuse, Jayme was able to thrive under his mother's love and support. After she passed when he was 15, he was taken in by Nim's parents. He was also diagnosed with ADHD when he was 7.

random tidbit: Long ago I started a story in the same world that The Revenged takes place in. It was my first for that world, actually. So yes this is a very self indulgent modern au project.

"Wait,"

Takashti stopped and turned to Anna, eyebrow raised. "Wait? For what? Are we getting armed TSA escorts onto the plane?" He asked.

"No," Anna replied, rolling her eyes. "We're flying out with some guests."

"Guests?" Takashti growled. All he wanted was to stay in warm, sunny California. He wanted to kick back, read, paint... watch Doctor Who for the nth time. But no. For his own sanity he was going on the stupid plane to Colorado and now there were more joining their vacation? The most unpleasant thought came to his mind. What if it was Cyrail?

"We're coming!" An all too familiar voice rose above the crowd.

Takashti groaned. "I better not see that mome behind me," He mumbled, too apprehensive to actually look. But he knew. He knew by Saira's teasing grin she shot at him before waving. He knew by the feeling of someone staring at him that it was the mome.

"Takashti!" Jayme called above the din, closer. So much more closer.

Takashti sighed as he turned, his suitcase gliding on the floor. "Jayme," He said.

Jayme stopped a few paces from them, grinning. Nim grabbed onto his arm to steady herself as her suitcase nearly ran her over. "Jayme," She whined, pouting.

"Oh, sorry, Nimmy," He wrapped an arm around her and her face turned several shades darker as she blushed. "Are you surprised to see us?" He asked Takashti.

Takashti sighed again. Vacation was supposed to mean a vacation from the purple barnacle who had attached himself to his life. Getting on a plane? Ok, fine he would do it. Dealing with snow? Becoming a cabin hermit suited him well. But now he had to deal with every bane of his existence at once. Or, well, nearly every bane of his existence.

I can thank the stars Cyrail will not be there too.

"Where's Cris?" Saira asked.

"She wanted to go home to her babies," Jayme said.

"That sounds preferable to me too," Takashti muttered. Hanging with Cris and her million and one cats? It sounded just tolerable enough to tempt him.

"Aww," Anna said. "I was looking forward to getting to know all you better. Next time maybe?"

Jayme nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, I'll try to convince her next time."

"We better go," Lanni said as she glanced at her phone. "We have all the security to get through."

Writeblr Intro

Thought I would do an intro since I haven't yet. I'm Kayla or you may know me as @flamingdiva if you happen to like the kpop group SHINee. Believe it or not but it was Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries who inspired me to actually start writing in 2007 when I was 13. For some years after high school, though, I stopped writing. In 2018 my desire to pick it up again grew and I am finally back to writing nearly as much as I did procrastinating school work.

I pretty much write what I like to read: fantasy, sci-fi, YA, dystopian, and mystery. I've written some poetry too.

I love being tagged and getting asks but I am a shy creature with ADHD so it might take me some time to respond!

Firebird Summer

Alex and Kella are destined to be together. That's what everyone in their small town knew even before they started dating. It was never a question of if they would stay together but a question of if Alex could hold out long enough to escape his father's drunken anger. YA, trauma, romance, coming of age, (does 2012 count as historical? someone tell me no)

Four teens and their faerie companions are pulled into a nefarious plot involving the disappearance of Lady Ayra when Zim loses his faerie friend, Ziv, after running away from home.

Part One

A/N: and here we have the intro to the new social media AU! So I was too lazy to change the twitter accounts from ATWR but this IS NOT in the same "universe" per say. So for this AU the atla gang all work in retail stores on the same block. The MC works in a small boutique with Katara, Suki and Sokka work at a Sephora, Zuko works at the Jasmine Dragon across the street from the boutique Y/N does, Aang works at a yoga studio above the Jasmine Dragon, and Toph just vibes. Let's see how this plays out!

Writeblr Intro

Hey thought I'd just introduce myself! I'm Kayla (she/her, 28) and I've been writing since about 2007 but I was making up stories long before that. I had another writeblr blog that I didn't do much on but decided to start over on a new account that isn't attached to my main (@flamingdiva). I mainly write fantasy but I've dabbled in mystery, poetry, sci-fi, and YA romance.

When not writing I enjoy listening to music, reading manga, playing otome games, and whatever my brain decides to hyperfixate on.

Some authors I love: Jane Austen, Veronica Rossi, Marissa Meyer, Ruta Sepetys, Susan Fletcher
