Here are stories I would love to finish before 2021 ends:
Cut to the bone by @thetourguidebarbie: I love Harry Potter au’s, so this quickly landed on my must-read list. I’m so grateful the author decided to update the story because I’m utterly obsessed with it.
Let me taste your flavors by @klarolineagainnaturally: The moment I read the description, I knew I would love it. I was such a big fan of the one-shot that inspired this story.
A union of chances by @withyouandthemoon: I’ve heard amazing things about this author, so I can’t wait to start this one. It intrigues me so much.
Quiet light by @definedareasofuncertainty: I started this story back when it first was published, and it immediately became one of my favourites. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and I couldn’t finish it. I’m excited to pick it up again and follow along Klaus, Caroline and Elijah.
The lynx and the wolf by @enniec123: Again, I’m such a big fan of Harry Potter au’s, and I’ve been wanting to read this fic since I knew about the idea, knowing this one involves animagus makes me more eager to read it.

Wow! First of all, even resorting to unpublished fics, I did not think I'd be getting to twenty, and I did! Didn't think I had this many fics, that's surprising.
Second, almost all of these first lines mention Caroline, even the ones that are not her POV. Out of 20, 10 are Caroline POVs, eight are Klaus, one is Elijah and one if Babysitter Nat lololol I really do feel much more comfortable writing Caroline, I guess.
I think my favorites are Worst Things Have Happened (probably the most hooking first line I have ever written lol) and Pendulum.

Author’s Note
I meant to put this up earlier today but got distract by making my graphic for tomorrow’s spotlight Sunday. However, I am here to state about my emotional feelings on the fact that I posted the epilogue of Demonology today. I'm just in shock that this story is over. For awhile I wondered if I was ever going to finish it when I hit a burnout in October but I'm happy my muse came back to me and I was able to get to this point.
Demonology was originally supposed to be a Harry Potter AU and if you squint, you can spot a few influences here and there but it did go though a whole process and changes to be what it is today. This world I created and all the research and plotting really came in handy. Demonology turned into a genre that I never expected and it really was something I set out to do in order to challenge myself. Horror is not my preferred genre (I'm actually a bit of a scaredy cat) and was weary of doing something that probably would give me nightmares but I tried anyway.
And I am so glad I did.
This entire story was the long telling of how Caroline becomes queen of the damned and it was a ride that I am so happy I got to share with the everyone.
@eliliyah, Thank you Ellie for listening to me prattle on about this story and being enthusiastic about where this was going. You always said that this was a “drop what you’re doing” story and that always meant a lot. You helped me run through the ending to ensure that it made sense and that it was taken in the right direction- agreeing with me that this was the only real outcome that either of us saw.
@carolineforbae oh Guila. You’re probably my biggest cheerleader. Hearing your reactions and love for this story was part of what made this journey so enjoyable. You loved Demonology almost as much as you loved Wanderlust and we both know that was not an easy thing to do. You were always there, boosting my morale when I needed it. You’re a joy to talk with and bounce ideas off of.
@klarolineagainnaturally your graphics. Lottie. How do you do create such beautiful magic? I ADORE the fact that even with knowing so little of the story (having created the first graphic before the story was even posted) is wonderful. Without the graphics you created, I do not think Demonology would have the dark and terrifying feel that it did. I love reading your reviews and hearing your thoughts on the story. I know you’re on a well deserved break but when you’re up to coming back, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the last few chapters.
@destellolunar You’ve been reading the story since chapter one and hearing your excitement on discord really brings a smile to my face. I’m excited for your reread because I know I’ll hear about the little things you notice now that you know how the story ends. I know you’re sad that it is ending but I’ll never say no to doing an outtake in this universe; because there is just so much potential!
I also just want to thank EVERYONE who read and commented on this story. Without you, I probably wouldn't have kept pushing forwards with this. I do want to apologize for not responding to comments for a few months (I was in a dark place) but do know I read every single one of them. I hope that Demonology is a story that you come back to and love as much as I do. It holds a special place in my heart, just like Wanderlust and Just Good Business do.

1. Who are your favorite KC writers?
I’m rushing as I head out to work, but when I come back I’ll edit and add my favourite work from them all. I’m 100% sure I’ve missed someone I love (so sorry!!!) but here are some of them - @cupcakemolotov - sooooo much incred content, like 200+ works and they’re all gold. @itsnotacrimetoloveyou - I could spend all day rereading their AO3 page, just a ton of amazing pieces. @candycolamorgan - so goooooood, especially the oneshots! I LOVE the smutty ones, and a few are unlisted to make sure to check their main AO3 page. @lalainajanes - you neeeeed to read through their KC works, they are expertly written, well planned and excecuted marvellously. I’ve reread so many, they are really amazing. @bellemorte180 - does an AU like no one else. Seriously magical. @galvanizedfriend - long or short form, one of the best KC writers of all time. @supremeuppityone - everything they write is awesome, and I’ve spent days going through the 130+ oneshots. There is literally something for everyone in there. @klarolineagainnaturally - I’m slowly but surely working my way through their AO3 page and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Every work is a killer, long or short, completed or WIP. @honestgrins - one of the best drabble writers in the fandom imo, but their long stuff is AMAZING too. The Sound of Settling by @galvanizedfriend - it’s a coffee shop AU, and usually I wouldn’t read that kind of thing but this is soooooo good. The plot is masterful.

Everything Everything by @anyaparadox - oh my god, this is so raw and I loved everything. It has a happy ending, so don’t be put off reading it! Caroline and Klaus wake up in an alternative universe where they’re both married, human and trying to conceive.

@honestgrins writes the most wonderful little shorts - the kind that make you go oh my god this can’t be the end.
9. What was the story that made you fall in love KC fanfiction?
Cut to the Bone by Angelikah - if they have Tumblr, please feel free to tag ‘em! So this might not have been the first one which did, but it certainly reinforced the love. Klaus in this is so conniving and dark, I stan.
10. A fic you love and wish more people would read.
Worst Things Have Happened by @galvanizedfriend please see yesterday’s review for more detail on this, but READ THIS FIC.
11. A fic that isn’t your regular cup of tea for whatever reason but that you love anyway.
Her New Skin by @klarolineagainnaturally - look, I don’t do angst, but I’m hooked on this rival family AU and it’s only two chapters deep! It’s wonderful!

Dragon Dust by @cupcakemolotov - I’m not big on dragons either, but this is so great. It’s only one chapter right now, but definitely worth a read. Caroline is a thief and in order to safe her friend, she has to steal from a dragon. She doesn’t have time to work out why her skin shimmers when they touch... It’s so awesome and intriguing.

Why you should read it:
Okay, I think this is obvious but what is better than just a normal Klaroline fic? A Sabrina the Teenage Witch inspired fusion. Because why not? Also, not gonna lie, Caroline as a witch is my all-time favourite jam. Klaus, as a cat, is purrfect (see what I did there) and the whole idea is genius.
What I love best:
The storyline is fantastic, so creative, fun and easy to read (I lie, I devour it). Klaus and Caroline are well written and their chemistry is so on point and I love their witty banter (this is also my jam). The author has this amazing ability to make everything come alive and create such good visuals.
This is a wonderful read and such a great fusion that I never thought of but am so glad this talented author brought it to us! Go and have a read today : )

Why am I obsessed?: The way of words this author has it's wonderful, it's truly something else. This is a very underrated story and most people should know about this beauty and this author. Her writing style is really deep and I absolutely adore the way she writes Klaroline, their scenes always get stuck in my mind, it's the perfect mix of intense emotions and sweetness. This is an emotional story, but it's precious.
WHITE WINDS BLOW — perfectpro
Summary: Caroline Forbes waits anxiously in the Riverlands to hear of the return of her betrothed, Elijah Mikaelson, from the uprising against the mad King Silas. Instead, a letter arrives from his younger brother, Lord Niklaus, telling her of Elijah's death and offering to uphold the joining of their houses himself. She will become the Lady of Winterfell, but Lord Niklaus, waiting at the heart tree, is a stranger. [One shot]
Why am I obsessed?: I'm trash for GOT au's, and the univese building in this one is exceptional. The narration it's so genuine, I honestly felt like I was watching a show and it was really magical. The way the KC relationship evolves is full of tender, how they slowly built up a bond despite the tragedy it has behind was such a joy to read.
QUIET LIGHT — coveredinthecolors
Summary: Caroline Forbes sets off to the Bahamas with her boyfriend, Elijah, where she'll finally meet his brother for the first time. But as it turns out... she knows Klaus Mikaelson a little too well.

Why am I obsessed?: This is a love triangle between our favorite originals and it's genuinely amazing! By the time I got to the end of the first chapter I was freaking out, and now, the anticipation is consuming me. Plus, Luiza's writing is the most glorious and poetic thing ever and adds so much climax into the story. It's filled with drama and I want all of it!
TOMORROWS THAT FOLLOW — sunnydaisy
Summary: How was she supposed to know that the cute guy she had seen on her morning run was a prince?
That’s what she gets for deleting her Instagram.

Why am I obsessed?: Modern royalty fic with prince Klaus and actress Caroline it's everything to me! It's beautifully written and the story is so intriguing and charming. It's super fluffy and it's the perfect one to put a huge smile on your face. Besides, this was the story that made me obsessed with the modern royalty trope. It's so good and brings light to my life.
WAITING FOR YOU — misssophiachase
Summary: Detectives Klaus Mikaelson and Caroline Forbes are forced to work together on an organised crime case. Given their growing attraction and close proximity solving a murder is the least of their problems. [One shot]
Why am I obsessed?: The world building here is so good, it's an amazing story and although it's about detective KC it goes beyond that. The importance the author gives to all the chacarcters, how she lets them grow in so many aspects, the details, the dynamics, everything it's sensational. I love this one so much.
PICTURESQUE — supernutellastuff
Summary: She doesn’t talk to Klaus about feelings. Ever. Or at least when she’s sober. Sure, there are times when their friends pass out and the two of them lie on the rooftop, looking at the stars, and talk. Or times when they go to clubs and instead of trying to pick up people they find themselves in a corner spilling their guts amidst the pulsating lights. But alcohol or some other form of intoxication is definitely involved.
Klaroline (with a little Steroline) AU/AH where it's a miracle the gang still have working livers seeing that they spend more time than they should at the bar.
Multi chapter: 7/7 (completed)
Why am I obsessed?: This is a really engaging story and one of my favorites parts it's the dialogues. The pining was there but also some angst that show how an incredible way with words the author has. The chemistry between Klaus and Caroline is so real and it was delightful to get to read all their progress. It is fantastic!

Both in my heart and soul I believe The wolf by Yokan is canon, so these posters are everything I needed to complete that happiness. It's not only an amazing idea but the edits are fantastic! She captured the essence of the story so well and I can't stop staring at them. They are so stunning!

Is this one of the most stunning moodboards I have ever seen? Yes, is it. I adore the black and white aesthetic and the intensity of the pics. It's absolutely and perfectly gorgeous, it's so evocative and the overall atmosphere for the are it's inspired by it's unbelievable.

This edit is stunning, I really love the inclusion of those pink roses and the overall aesthetic of it, but one of the reasons I'm obsessed with it it's because it's filled with so many deep emotions and feelings. It's beautiful and tragic, and I'm a mess everytime I read the little drabble it has. I adore it.
BIG BAD WOLF — lyannainsomnia
I could stare at this edit and everytime I will find something that I love. I consider dark aesthetics and color scheme a little bit tricky, but this one is perfection. The manip is so well done and the moodboard it's quite unique, I got goosebumps for how amazing it is.
MAGIC OF PEGASUS AND TANGLED FUSIONS by klarolineagainnaturally
We should be all thankful for having Lottie's talent and creativity on this fandom. I mean, KC x Barbie fusion? I never thought I needed that until I knew it was happening! This gif set it's stunning and has all the barbie vibes, and combining my younger self favorite story with my favorite couple it's a dream come true.
The tangled manip it's so realistic, like how? The color scheme just screams fairytale and I'm trash for it. I know everytime I'll watch Tangled I will only think about this beauty.

Her gifs are everything to me, they are so realistic, so aesthetically pleasing, so cohesive and perfectly made. I could spend hours and hours in her blog and I will never get tired, there is so much art to look at and it's unbelievable how talented she is.
@likemypulse I recently found out this blog and I have spent so much time on it. Their edits are full of colors and they are super eye catching. The way they match the pictures and made such beautiful edits it's something that I really love and that I look up to. It's such a gorgeous blog!

Just read your drabble for 5x06 TO and it was so good!! I love fics with bed sharing, its so intimate! Caroline fell asleep with her hand on klaus arm!! How perfect is that! It was exactly how I imagine their relationship to be, with them showing their feelings more with gestures than words, even in Carolines case. Do you have more kc bed sharing fics or know some from other authors? Thx
YAYYYY! Hearing that someone liked something I wrote makes me so ridiculously happy, I cannot tell you. It’s always such a wonderfully expected gift. Hence why I go from calm to crazed to exuberant in the breadth of a second because I have no chill whatsoever haha.

Unfortunately, I believe that’s the only bed sharing AU I’ve written for Klaroline so far. (I should rectify this at some point, right?) This week, for our first 'loyal reader,' we had a chance to chat with Ennie, a very enthusiastic and passionate reader. Keep reading to find out what she has to say about her start in the fandom to her favorite story.
KCL: For our first question we would like you to introduce yourself! What's your name or alias? And could you mention your username?
Ennie: Hi! My name is Ennie and my tumblr username is @enniec123.
KCL: Thank you for allowing us to interview you. We are really excited about this. So let’s jump in with this question: how and when did you join the Klaroline fandom?
Ennie: Yeah, of course! I joined the Klaroline fandom because my friend is really into the show and had been telling me to watch it for a long time, so I binged all 3 shows in spring 2020.
Before watching the show, I knew the bare minimum, which was that he's a bad guy and she's a good guy, very black and white. I also knew that Klaroline was a thing and was kinda confused as to how they could be together because they were on opposite sides. Keep in mind, I knew basically nothing, and I had only really read friends to lovers ships before watching the show. Next, I watched the iconic 3x11 scene, then immediately saw why they were so loved and jumped on board so fast.
KCL: Would you say after watching the memorable 3x11 scene, that it was what drew you to Klaus and Caroline ship? Could you explain what exactly drew you in?
Ennie: 3x11 is definitely what drew me into them. In my opinion, there was nothing really platonic about that whole scene. First of all, the words he used and the way he said them were really soft and different compared to what we had seen before. Until this point, we knew him as the ruthless killer, then he becomes softer and is telling her that there is a huge world out there, waiting to be explored. The other part was that he leaned in really close while talking, and he could have put his blood in a glass and give it to her, but instead, he offered his arm, brought her close, and stroked her hair.
KCL: You answered that beautifully! Their first scene together is definitely one of the most popular ones here in the fandom! After falling in love with the Klaus and Caroline ship, do you remember the first story you've read?
Ennie: I was kind of shocked that I remembered which fic brought me into reading more Klaroline, it feels like it was forever ago, not 9-ish months. Before TVD, I was reading Gendrya fics from the GOT universe, and I knew that as soon as I started reading Klaroline fics I would not be reading other fics anymore. So, I waited a few months after finishing the show, and I think around August/September-ish I saw that one of my fav Gendrya writers also wrote 3 Klaroline fics. Then I was like "ok, maybe ill read them and see what happens."
My first fic was either Right Place, Wrong Time or When Life Changes by @psychvamp25. Then I binged all of @honestgrins one-shot/drabbles. Everything snowballed from there, and here we are today.
Right Place, Wrong Time is the fic that made me start to love time travel fics and the viking era fics. When Life Changes made me love the period fics and the ones that they were together for a long time. Then I read @bellemorte180's Original Caroline fic and I was a goner. Original Caroline is definitely one of my favorite tropes.
KCL: It's impressive that you still remember your first story! And it seems like you have spent a lot of time reading. On average, what would you say is the number of hours you have spent reading stories?
Ennie: It honestly depends on how busy I am. I like to binge stories, and read till like 2 am. I know it's a very bad habit, and I am working on it. If I am busy then maybe 1 hour-ish during the day and 2 at night so 1-3 hours. If I have a break in school, then I would read for an entire day. If I have more time while it's a school week, then maybe 3-8 hours a day, sometimes more depending on how late I stay up… I realize now that I have a problem. Yikes. A lot basically.
KCL: That's nothing to feel bad about! We’re sure that there are many others who are on the same boat as you, we certainly are! Since you do a lot of reading, do have any favourite authors? Could you share a couple of them?
Ennie: I have so many favorite authors. Here are a few: @galvanizedfriend (Yokan), coveredincolors, @honestgrins (honestgrins), @helpless-in-sleep (perfectpro), @helpfulfairy (helpfulfairy92), @lalainajanes (LalainaJ), @misssophiachase (misssophiachase), @klarolineagainnaturally (klarolineagainnaturally), @bellemorte180 (bellemorte180) and @lynyrdwrites (LynyrdLionheart).
This was really hard to choose.
KCL: We are so lucky to have so many talented authors in this community, where we can always enjoy reading new or rereading stories from them. Before we dive into your favorite story, what are you currently reading so we can add it to our reading list?
Ennie: I am currently rereading Endlessly by @slstmaraudersjple. Another one of my favies.
KCL: Thank you for sharing! We will definitely be checking it out. So far, you have mentioned your first stories and your favorite authors, but what would you say is your favorite KC story?
Ennie: Only Human by @peacefulvillagefairone is one of my favorite fics. Besides The Wolf 2, I will say this is definitely my favorite story.
KCL: We love that story too! It’s one of our favorites! In your own words, could you give us a brief summary of the story?
Ennie: I suck at summaries because I end up spoiling it, but I will try my best.
Caroline is human and wants to know more about Klaus because he doesn't open up a lot to her. She gets sent back in time to when the originals were human. From that point on, she goes on an adventure to try to get back to her time but not before trying to dodge trouble that comes her way.
KCL: That was such a great summary! And what was it that you loved about the author’s writing style?
Ennie: In my opinion, the story is very light. There is a lot of fluff but there is also a lot of plot. It's centered around time traveling and I really love that. It's about the adventures that they go on and how Caroline gets to see different versions of Klaus.
I think that the fic is a fun ride. It's a non-thinking story which I really enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, I love really analytical fics that make me think a lot, but when your brain needs a break from real life and you don't want to think a lot then this fic is perfect. There are some mysteries in the fic that make you think but it gets revealed soon and there are a lot of hints so it's a fun mystery to solve without deep diving into it.
KCL: Our next question is what made you fall in love with the story? Was it the chemistry between Klaus and Caroline? The conflict in the story or maybe the character arcs?
Ennie: I thought that it was a different story because it starts with Klaus and Caroline getting together when she was human and then time traveling. I loveeeee domestic and established kc and the fic shows them being physically together but not mentally together if that makes sense.
The fic shows the progression of their trust and how deeply they fall in love with each other. While I do love fics that start with them not together, sometimes I want a long fic with a lot of fluff. This story has a balance of plot and fluff. It's a beautiful story. It's on the longer side but it makes me really happy. If I'm feeling down, then I skip around the fic to reread my favorite parts.
KCL: We agree! We enjoy a good story of Klaus and Caroline in a domestic setting too. And for our last question, what would you want to say to readers who haven't read your favorite story yet?
Ennie: I hope you read it and it brings you joy and satisfaction like it did to me.

Thank you for creating such amazing stories. Only Human has a special place in my heart. It was one of the first fics I have ever read and I am in love with the plotline. Time travel fics are so fun and you wrote it beautifully. I can't spoil anything for the fic but I really love a certain someone. I think that he is such a good character and the matchmaking cracked me up. The convos between present and past were so amazing. The characterizations were on point. The story is so fluffy and full of plot and it makes me so happy when I read it. When Klaus, Caroline, and the OC are together, it's so sweet. I loooovvveeeee their moments, esp the ending. The story has so many of my favorite tropes all wrapped up in 120k words *chefs kiss* Thank you once again for creating this masterpiece and sharing it with the world. 💖

Summary: Request: "Canon Divergent- Caroline and Klaus start an affair after finding out Tyler’s cheating, and this leads to a series of event that favor this beautiful OTP"
Why you should read: This fic is pretty much what every Klaroline fan dreams of from the moment Klaus stepped through those doors to save Caroline when Tyler bit her. Is it fan service? Probably but well deserved. The relationship between Hayley and Tyler wasn’t pretend and Caroline is dealing with realizing the person she thought was the love of her life cheated on her.
She turns to Klaus. They build a friendship and start testing the waters...slowly....and with bourbon.
There is only five chapters but it is not completed. While I am the first girl who enjoys reading the devil’s tango between the sheets, I enjoy the fact that this didn’t have them jumping into bed right away (but they are getting there). They still have that chemistry that drew us in when watching The Vampire Diaries, but they are building a foundation for a relationship in this fic that I enjoy.
I can picture where the author might take this, if she sticks with the flow of the show, and eventually bring our two favorite character’s together. The best part is how she rewrites the magic baby storyline so it does not exists, thus changing the course of Klaus’s life forever. Plus, the ending of chapter five really
The build up these five chapters creates is worth reading. It shows the progression of the “what could have been” we were denied in the show.
